When I arrived at the property, I was told they didn't have enough room in the parking garage, and I'd have to park across the street and pay for parking myself at the Bank of America garage. This was completely unacceptable — I was traveling alone with my elderly dog and had quite a lot of luggage, including several large items. Making multiple trips back and forth across a busy street just wasn't feasible for me. I immediately asked to cancel, since this wasn't disclosed anywhere on the property listing. It mentioned valet parking, but this was not valet: we were expected to park and pay for it ourselves, then walk back to the hotel. The receptionist told me the booking was cancelled immediately and that I would receive a refund through Booking.com, which is where I made the reservation. Since then, Booking.com has tried repeatedly to reach the property, but the property has been completely unresponsive and is ignoring them. I still have not received my refund, despite being told directly by the receptionist that I would. On top of this, the area in front of the hotel was extremely busy and crowded. Overall, an awful experience: being told one thing at check-in, only to now have the property ignore the booking platform and refuse to issue the refund I was promised. Completely unacceptable.

I love it all. From Faith at the front desk to the restaurants (Crepe place 10 out of 10) the rooms (so art deco ❤️) the entertainment in the bar area. The bar staff was busy, but still took the time to smile and look you in the eyes.

The only thing I would ping a tiny bit is that our room sat ground level with the parking lot. It wasn’t a deal breaker, but couldn’t open the curtains..

Beds were very comfortable and overall I think it’s a pretty hotel. I believe there was a cat hammock and I think that’s pretty cool.

Hotel is great. But area around it did not feel safe for walking after dusk.

It was a great location (walking distance to Forest Park and great food, around the corner from a Whole Foods), the staff were very helpful, the cleaning staff was friendly and did their jobs thoroughly. The only thing that would keep me from a return visit would be the fact there is no pool. This trip was an "adult" trip so it didn't matter, but when I travel with my kids, that aspect is a deal breaker. Gym was clean and equipment was good. I LOVED having the coffee bar, bar bar, and food hall vibes...such a great idea for a hotel. The parties were an added bonus and a great way to meet new people also staying at the location.

No pool. The live TV function on the elliptical was not set up, but there was a larger TV for the room (nobody else was in there with me both mornings).

The location is very convenient for seasonal visitors like us at the St. Louis Chess Club Summer Camp.

Everything includes on-site parking, a restaurant, Whole Foods, and a nice, quiet atmosphere — but not lonely!

Lacked a cozy feeling

History of hotel, location was beautiful, so much history downtown. Well cared for and clean.

We had the handicap room. Bathtub very slippery, put a towel down. Also the bathroom floor was very slick when wet.

Close to Barnes Jewish and CAM. Updated decor. Comfortable bed. Great water pressure and beautiful shower. We could open the window. Snacks and meals available on site.

No complimentary breakfast.

We enjoyed burgers and beer in the adjacent food hall, it was cold and windy and nice to be able to stay in and have a meal.

We usually like this hotel. For the most part, the staff were very kind and helpful. We like the new café and restaurants at the Bel-Air. The location can’t be beat.

We were deceived by the staff who told us that if no parking were available on the premises, we could park at the Bank of America garage across the street. No instructions were provided as to how to enter that garage or exit the garage after hours. We were provided with a sticker that covered one nights stay but we stayed two nights. When we used the sticker provided we were required to pay for an additional night of parking. When I alerted the front desk of the indigo hotel of this a very polite woman named Faith told me that she would make sure I got reimbursed for the 16 or $17 that I had to pay additionally, the manager sitting beside her mumble some things about how the sticker would only cover one nut and did not apologize to help in anyway. It’s not a major deal, but I feel like $16 was kind of stolen from us. The reimbursement was never made. We were also deceived when we arrived on Friday and although we paid extra to rent a room with a balcony, which my husband always wants and is important to him, we were told that no rooms with balconies were rented from this hotel anymore. Yet we saw that there were rooms with balconies as an upgrade we were given a suite. It was a nice suite. However, it was far from any exterior and my husband needs to go outside often. This upgrade was a downgrade for us. No discount or other reparation for not getting what we bargained for was offered. This used to be our favorite hotel in St. Louis. I hope that you might be interested, but in the meantime, we don’t intend to.

Amazing location, lots of shops & restaurants within walking distance, very central to activities & attractions. Nice coffee shop on site. Clean & nicely decorated.

The bathroom door is a sliding door that doesn’t seal, doesn’t offer much privacy. Underground parking wasn’t available most of our stay, it worked out okay for us, but might be an issue for others.

We’ve stayed at this location for the past few years to visit family and we will be looking for a new option for upcoming trips. This hotel has been under construction for YEARS. Not only did this cause inconveniences for parking (yet there was still a daily fee), the upgrades do not warrant the price increase. This hotel adds significant incidental charges that are not posted in the listing causing confusion at check-in. The new additions only add pricey options for food and coffee. There are other options in the neighborhood that offer more value for the price. The staff, however, has always been awesome and pleasant to work with.

Clean and Faith and Myletta at the front desk were very knowledgeable and friendly and hospitable! They were excellent! Made my stay wonderful!

This was a fantastic hotel. The room was stylish, comfortable and quiet. Faith on the front desk deserves a special shout out - she was beyond helpful and friendly! The location was also ideal with lots of great restaurants within a short walking distance. Would definitely stay again.

I love the hotel. It was clean I walked passed it when was homeless.

Had a fairly good one night stay here. Although the hallways are dingy and the 2nd floor smells like smoke (odd since all hotels now are non-smoking), my actual room was very clean and comfortable and did not smell at all. Tayonda was very helpful with assigning me a room that met my room requests. The location is great- steps from Forrest Park and great central west end restaurants. The hotel also has Bar social which has a coffee shop with breakfast sandwiches in the morning, a bar, and a pizza place so very convenient if you don’t want to leave the hotel. The hotel does not appear to be as accommodating for early check in/late check out requests. I asked the night before for late checkout the following morning and was told i would have to ask the following morning but it shouldn’t be a problem. When I went down the following morning…they said they had too many late checkouts and couldn’t accommodate me. I can understand if their policy is first come first serve but that should’ve been made clear the night before so I could’ve called down as soon as I woke up in the morning. They weren’t accommodating early check in even for customers w IHG status. The housekeeping team does a great job since the room was so clean but perhaps the hotel could hire additional staff so more customers could enjoy check in/check out.

Construction on premises. Had I known I would have stayed elsewhere. Love the room but did not get to utilize my deck and lost many zzz’s over construction noise, smell and some robotic voice security system that drove me insane. I was too much to not offer some kind of kickback for putting up with it.

Every thing was great with the exception of the construction goimg on, the staff was wonderful the room was clean and the drinks were reasonably priced.

The hotel rebranded to an Indigo, raises the price, but nothing improved.

The hotel was lovely. We enjoyed the pizza place and bar located in the hotel. The staff were super friendly and helpful. It was close to our STL destination.

The wait time to order and receive coffee/breakfast in the morning. We had an event on Saturday morning and didn’t realize you had to order coffee from the restaurant and the line was terribly long and we didn’t have time to wait.

Staff was friendly and the area felt very safe. We were able to walk to close by restaurants and activities. I would stay here again!

Clean hotel and friendly staff.

I like how nice and clean the hotel was. It was also close to my the event. The bathroom was so big, I loved it! I would stay here again!

The parking garage is tiny. It’s first come first serve, so parking may not be available if you decide to leave. You really couldn’t see the tv from the bed.

Check in was great until the trainee walked in and the entire place suddenly smelled of weed. The clerk was visibly annoyed and the trainee seemed to think it was funny. The room was exceptional, comfortable, very clean with a great shower. Parking is inside and out. The only complaint was the bar was already closed at 9 pm on a Saturday night.

The people are unfriendly, and the cost is high compared to what they offer.
