Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Very upscale and clean. Staff was very helpful and very friendly. We were there for a surgery at BJC and it was directly connected to the hospital. It was really nice to walk through the hallway to get to where I needed. I didn't have to leave for dinner either. Downstairs there is an Applebee's for the Hotel guests! Everything was so convenient for our stay. We do recommend if you have to go to Barnes for an overnight stay (such as an impatient surgery) and you live a few hours away like we do.(4hrs away) Definitely consider it. 😀
There wasn't anything I didn't like.
Rooms need to be updated, mold and peeling paint in the shower.
They forgot to clean my room 1 day
It was okay.
Convenient to the hospital
None
The breakfast was intercontinental, which made sense
If the breakfast or lunch had a bit of Nigerian delicacy
Husband was a patient at Barnes Hospital. We booked here for the convenience. Alex was fantastic at the front desk. Friendly, polite, & was competent with his work. The hotel was comfortable & I felt safe.
Comfy beds, breakfast, helpful with a special request
Delayed check in, stressed staff, lobby under maintenance, attached to huge hospital meaning additional use of key cards all over, having to pay for parking, visible dirty parts of room, shower and some unidentified sticky liquid across pictures
The fact that the hotel connected to the hospital where I was seeing a patient. That is it.
My son left a bag in our room and have called MANY times about it. The one time I was able to reach anyone in Housekeeping, she let me know how much she didn't want to look for our bag. Never received any type of call back. Last time I called and spoke with someone at the front desk and they said they would personally hand deliver the message to return the call, that was 2 days ago. I don't usually write reviews, but on this one, big thumbs down.
I would 10/10 recommend the DoubleTree St. Louis, especially for anyone who needs to be near Barnes Jewish Hospital, which is right next door. I had the pleasure of being greeted on arrival by Alex at the front desk, and he set the tone for my entire stay. I was there for two weeks while my mom was a patient at Barnes, and Alex was excellent throughout. He made sure we were looked after and taken care of — his calm, warm, funny demeanor put us instantly at ease, which meant the world since my mom was undergoing treatments and tensions were running high. When I needed to extend my stay, Alex and the entire DoubleTree team were more than accommodating for my situation. A major bonus: the third floor is connected directly to the hospital, so you don't even have to go outside. That made it safe and incredibly convenient for me to go back and forth, which was a godsend because I was still working full-time while supporting my mom. If you're considering the DoubleTree St. Louis in the Central West End, I cannot recommend it, plus Alex and the entire staff, enough.
It was amazing.
Very clean and was happy it’s right at the Hospital no driving abound
Love the staff they was all nice and friendly
There was a guy on the front desk called 'Alex', who was just a great ambassador for the brand. He was super friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The room was spacious, comfortable, quiet. The hotel was in a great location.
One of the other receptionists (short, glasses, bit older) was a bit unpleasant. No sunlight out of her, couldn't muster a "hello" or a "how are you". Looked angry. It's a pain that the restrooms are locked with a card key. For god's sake, just let people use the restroom without going through security clearance - it's ridiculous.
Great bed and room. Evelyn and Crabtree toiletries. Excellent staff
Breakfast same day in and out. Disappointing variety of food. No service on day 2.
Bed
I don't like breakfast especially tea-it was cold. Also, personal on the kitchen , a dusty room
Did not know about breakfast . Coffee was good . Location to hospital was good for us.
Bathroom floor was really dirty. Hair and whatever was behind the door. Bathroom tub was dirty with hair on edges of it. Not enough grab bars for tub.
The rooms were clean. Safe location.
The room had a very noisy AC compressor that would wake me up in the middle of the night when it randomly goes off. Requested to change the room. The bed was very very soft, no support. The curtains didn’t work.
This place is the worst! Service is less than incompetent. They could not produce the room I was promised and tried to tell me the noisy side was an upgrade. I was told by the front desk that they are not Hilton, hmmm? So many issues and too many to enumerate here. One glaring incident - the parking garage has a sign saying “Doubletree by Hilton Parking”. When I couldn’t get my key to give access, I pushed the intercom button. The first words I hear are “I CAN’T HELP YOU!!" Seriously, this is hospitality now??
friendly staff offering a refund
room was lowkey disgusting - Leftover Chinese food - Pubic hair on bathroom floor - Crumbs and mud stains on couch - Sticky patches on carpet - Hairy boogers on lamp - Stain on wall next to night stand
This hotel is conveniently located near Forest Park and right beside Barnes Jewish Hospital. Our room was upgraded and it was clean and spacious but the air conditioner in that room didn't work very well at all. No matter how low I set the thermostat, the temp in the room would not go below 72 degrees and I have difficulty breathing and sleeping when the temp isn't cooler. The bed was comfortable and if the a/c had worked I would have gotten a great night's sleep. The breakfast buffet was not very impressive at all but since it was mostly covered by my food & beverage credit I can't complain. I would stay at this location again but would ensure that the a/c was working properly or ask to be reassigned to another room.
I liked the location and the bed. The couch in the room was nice too.
The lady at the front desk had no idea what she was doing. I had to use the bathroom bad and after I checked in I went to use my facilities and I couldn’t enter my room because she had me on the 8th floor and my room was on the 2nd floor. There was no pool, for $250 a night there should be a pool, breakfast was supposed to be included and it was not. Staff even double charged my cousin who was on the trip with me. I feel like this hotel is only trying to take advantage of people who need a place to stay near the hospitals, which is horrible.
After getting to our room I noticed a roach in the bathroom… I called the front desk and they promptly moved us to another room on a different floor. Later on that night, the front desk gentleman that checked us in was amazing and he actually paid for my drinks that I was buying from their little market and gave us an extended checkout since we were there for several doctors appointments next-door at Washington University / BJH. (He was making it right after the bug situation) The next morning I ran into a gentleman and I did not see that he was on his cell phone. All I asked was if he worked there and he said yes but continued to talk on the phone so I said never mind. I’ll talk to you later on…no big deal… The guy then says “never mind. I went ahead and hung up on the person that I was talking to”and continued to tell me how the person he was talking to was very important and was super hard to get a hold of, but I know at least five times he told me that he hung up on that person just so he could talk to me…. I explained what happened about the roach and I was trying to tell him how well the gentleman that was working that night handled the situation and I was trying to give him a compliment, but at the same time, let him know that they may need to spray for some bugs, but every single time I would try to say something the manager would only let me know that he hung up on somebody very important just to talk to me and he was making me feel like I was an inconvenience to him… not one time did the manager apologize regarding the bug and not one time did he say thank you for paying a compliment… I found out later that day that we checked out that the manager‘s name was Dan Gough. If I had to work for a manager like Dan I would quit!!! Now on the other hand Terry Haney was the gentleman that made the situation right by switching our rooms and his customer service was top tier!!! Terry Is a huge asset to that company and would be the only reason I would ever consider staying at that hotel again!!!
The ease of walking the short distance to the lung center, Applebees and the parking garage
Tried to get a room last minute in person for and unexpected last minute stay. Unfortunately there was no room due to graduation events, but Alex went above and beyond calling multiple hotels to find me a room at another local Hilton location nearby. Excellent client service and would still stay at DoubleTree Forest Park another day. Thank you, Alex!
Front staff, Terry and Alex, were very helpful, finding us a wheel chair. Our stay here was convenient for a medical visit to Barnes Jewish Hospital, which is accessible by a skywalk. Hotel has an Applebee’s Restaurant, and everything we needed.
Tv didn’t work bathroom had paint peeling tub had bad stains in tub that couldn’t be wiped out overall bathroom needed redone a/c was so loud
Tv and bathroom and A/C was loud
The location next to an Applebee's and the hospital. Everything I needed was in walking distance. The couch in the room was a nice touch as well.
I paid extra for a view and it was just a view from the buildings across the street. The bathtub has paint chipping and it seemed to be clogged at times.
Closeness to hospital, ease to get to hospital.
Cost for families with babies in hospital
The staff was friendly and attentive. They would send daily texts to check in on us and make sure that we were enjoying our stay.
The only thing I did not like was the check in process. It had limited parking in the entryway and you have to go inside to obtain your room key in order to have access to the parking garage.
That it was attached to the Children’s Hospital. You never had to leave your car or go outside.
Did they had you pay $15 for breakfast and $15 a day to park your car?
Good location and midday check out
The room had a broken thermostat. I changed room and although it appeared to have some control over the temperature of the room it still wasn’t effective. There was a broken coffee machine and plug socket. Noisy air handling system.
Did not eat breakfast there.
The price is higher than I expected. I know I am paying for the convenience of being close to Siteman Cancer Center and that is very helpful, but I can stay 15 miles away and pay half as much for just as nice of a room and park and not have to pay $15.00 to park.
Pathetic service, front desk especially a younger gentleman guy borderline rude. No valet, no cart, sitting here for over 45 mins room not ready, chaos. Avoid this place
Having to pay for breakfast
Great location - almost connected to the medical center. Staff were great, rooms were modern and comfortable. Great option! Applebees is inside the hotel for a convenient option or quick drink after hours.
How close it was to Childrens Hospital.
Having a fee for breakfast and parking
I went to the hotel for one night and they charged me for two nights
I went to the hotel for one night and they charged me for two nights
Location to Children's hospital Te beds are super comfortable
A lil pricey
Location. Near. Forrest. Park. But the Street. Was very noisy. Lots of yelling outside at noc. Loud cars
No pool. No exercise. Facility Sofa in room. Long past due for replacement
Close to my destination
Front desk staff not helpful after hours. Room was in poor shape. Tub leaked, paint pealing, road noise was very high.
It is very close to Children’s Hospital.
This was the second time we stayed at the hotel. The first time was great. This time we had some issues checking in, the bathroom was handicapped (which wasn’t a problem) but the floor flooded while showering, the ceiling in the bathroom was peeling and our room was next to the garage so the noise was awful.
Clean
The heat in our room didn’t work.
Location because it is right at the school that we visited.
The heating/cooling unit makes pretty loud noise. So we had to turn it off. They must replace it.
The staff and the cleanliness of my room was the best thing
I did not like that. There was not an elevator from the parking garage or a back stairway that could get you from the parking garage to the hotel in a more timely fashion. And I was very appalled of the fact that you had to pay for your breakfast. I would think after the money you pay at an establishment like that the breakfast should be complementary, but being as it wasn’t, I ended my stay abruptly after the staff member told me I had to pay for breakfast, so I went up to my room, packed my stuff and I left. I will not give Doubletree my business again, and I also made made this known to a lot of my colleagues that traveled to the St. Louis area to not use your facility because of such things
Didn’t make up room second day.
Clean room
Wall vent very dirty. Wouldn't hurt to dust vent
Clean, pretty comfortable, kind and helpful employees.
A/C didn’t adjust at all, so was a bit warm. No real curtain in the room, just a screen and our window faced the parking garage so the vehicle lights were not great for sleep.
The area is beautiful and has parking. Hotel was really nice. We didn’t get a chance to explore the area but it was in a really nice part of town.
I thought I liked the fact that when I brought all the problems from my room #724, to the attention of the manager named Stephanie, she was responsive and said she would refund my hotel cost. But so far I have only been refunded parking of $15, and the $25 hold they put on my credit card? I have tried multiple times to reach out to Stephanie or anyone at the hotel to find out where my refund is, or if I need to go through booking.com to get my refund since I booked through them originally? I tried four times on Saturday to call and talk to someone and I was put on hold by a guy named Alex, and he forgot about me every time?!
I took the time to write a list out for the manager of the problems in my room including dirty, Dusty, no washcloths, Extremely Loud HVAC, a badly broken alarm clock, Etc. And I was told I would have a refund as a result, but my account is still not showing the hotel room refund?! Are they just slow to replace my money, or did they just lie to me to get me out of there?
Cleanliness, close to Siteman Cancer Center, friendliness of staff.
Garage parking was tight.
Such a delight sitting at Forest park, St. Louis location. Supervisor Cat is THE BEST! So helpful, extremely friendly, and greets you with her beautiful smile! Ask for Cat when u arrive & enjoy such a lovely stay at this hotel. Location is wonderful! So close to everything. Such a great hotel all around.
Cat was so kind and helpful! She is truly a great representative for your company. She went out of her way to help me with a reservation and made it stress free! This level of customer service makes me want to utilize the Hilton hotels more often. We are most grateful for Cats professionalism!
Clean
We liked everything
The location was excellent, was in town to attend an event at the Cathedral. The room was really nice. Also, glad there was a restaurant right there.
Nothing really, it was all good
The bed was comfortable
The whole place was run down, in poor repair, not very clean and very expensive. The staff was overwhelmed, I observed 1 man Alex, being rude to other guests Water damage on hallway walls visible with mold, peeling paint and mildew in hotel room bathroom, empty mutiuse toiletry containers in the shower, the extra roll of toilet paper was damp and mildewed, the window blinds were shear letting in the parking lot lights, I turned off the tv, it didn't work after that it needed to have the router reset to my personal stay by maintenance in my room, which they did in about an hour, i could only use the tv streaming services by entering my personal information including email and phone #, no local channels available. The heater was loud clanking each time it turned on and off and was either on full blast or not at all, no breakfast was offered, good thing because the night reception said it was included day reception said it cost 14$ for the same stuff included at most other hotels for free
Location was great. Room was spacious and comfortable, bed was comfortable.
They were having a lot of trouble with the heating, one night we had no heat and it was winter. They did offer to move us but it was late and we were working the next day, so declined. The next night the heat was barely enough. When we checked out, I overheard them moving another guest due to the same issue we were having - unresponsive thermostat...
We stayed here for my husband’s upcoming medical appointments. Right from checking in, Alex made everything easy and was able to accommodate our special requests. Friendly staff are a bright spot when traveling for something so stressful. Parking is easy and we love the convenience to the hospital. Plenty of good restaurants within walking distance.
Proximity to the school of pharmacy
Property good but many homeless around outside
The staff are fantastic!! I met alex upon arrival and he was so friendly and helpful! He had a smile everyday and knew me by name. Brandon was also friendly and helpful. Steven the maintenance man was very professional and nice. All the staff were exceptionall!
We had a great experience at this hotel. Everyone at the desk was friendly and accomodating, the beds were comfy, the rooms were quiet and self-parking was convenient and reasonably priced. At one point we asked to switch rooms because of issues with our thermostat, and by the time we got to the desk, the manager had keys ready for us and a free breakfast.
The room was very clean.
The first receptionist was NOT very nice or friendly. The next receptionist was very nice and friendly!
We had a very nice experience with our one night stay for an appointment with the medical center. Indoor walkway from the hotel to hospital was a wonderful convenience. The very quiet room was nicely decorated, the mattress and linens were great, and the breakfast offered more than the usual fare. The desk clerks, Sandra and Sharon went way out of their way to help us find whatever we needed for the stay.
The hotel was near the hospital where my loved one was admitted to.
The tub and bathroom floor was not clean. The bath towels were dirty. had a really big stain on it.
It was close to the hospital where my son had surgery. And we felt safe.

Spacious room and great location.
Dirty plates at breakfast.
We did not have breakfast. The bed and pillows were comfortable and everything was clean.
The proximity to St Louis Children’s, the rooms were very comfortable, and the staff was very friendly.
That there is no hotel access from the parking garage. It was very cold and having to walk from the 2nd level back outside and then into the hotel was a bit disappointing. Not a deal breaker but definitely not something I was expecting.
Friendly and helpful 👌
Convenient location for visiting hospital. Dirty and safety concerns. Upon arrival found room was dirty. Comforter had blood on it. Nightstand had dried food on it. Lamp and vents covered in dust. Wallpaper peeling off in halls. After returning from a day out found room door was left opened. Manager said it was housekeeping however room was not cleaned and towels were not replaced.
