Staff were friendly
Very expensive breakfast Only 1 small and 1 large towel in bathroom
Bathrooms are always dirty or things missing
Perfect half way stop to York Lovely clean hotel, friendly helpful staff
No vending machines for snacks
Lovely stylish room with mini bar
Health club ,busy and very small pool
Hotel receptionist was very efficient and friendly making booking in quick and easy. The room was clean and had everything required. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and again very friendly and efficient staff as were the staff at breakfast. Would stay there again
Great location, within easy walking distance of picturesque Nene Park, Thorpe Meadows and Ferry Meadows. Perfect for walking, running etc. There is also a well marked cycle path nearby. The hotel was very comfortable. Decent sized room, decent gym plus a small swimming pool, and an excellent breakfast included in the price. Helpful and friendly staff.
Good location well maintained. Excellent breakfast
Hot water supply was like warm - nearly warm enough for bath or shower
Location was perfect for where I wanted to be

The hotel\nRoom was brilliant clean modern nice
Good
Very old
Breakfast very good big bed nice big room very good
having to pay for car park most hotels don't charge was not happy with it the rest ok
We stay here at least once a year for Peterborough Spring or Summer Regatta - excellent location for walking to the rowing lake (via a lovely quiet footpath), nice and quiet in general and always fantastic breakfast options. The pool is also a great bonus after a day of competing!
Location and facilities
The staff were so helpful nothing was too much trouble and the food was lovely
Breakfast was great with plenty of choices, room is clean and bed is comfortable. Great stay.
Wish could have soft and lower pillows.
breakfast was really good
Airy clean
Evening meal ok expensive for what is was, breakfast was lovely lots of choice and plenty of it
The breakfast buffet had a good selection of meat and vegetarian options, though I will say I wished the vegan sausages were imitation meat ones rather than bubble and squeak type “sausages” but as most hotels leave vegans out completely I wasn’t complaining! I loved the free swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. They were a perfect wind down after a long day out. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were firm but cosy.
The grout (in some areas not all) around the pool was visibly dirty and flaking away. Wasn’t overly thrilled with paying £5 a day for parking on top of £262 for 2 nights but I’d seen it mentioned when I booked the hotel so at least it didn’t come as a surprise on checking out.
all was very good
nothing
It was clean, relaxing and the staff was very nice the different amenities pool, jacuzzi, steam room sauna and gym.
I would prefer more options on the menu for dinner .
Excellent around best hotel we gave ever stopped at
Staff brilliant, food the best ever. Hotel spotless, bed was great slept like a log
The bed wasn't comfortable.
The breakfast is perfect.
No dislikes.
Easy parking, great breakfast. Friendly staff, lovely circular walk of about 4km down by the river nene and orton lock early in the morning
Room was old shabby and not very clean, bed was dreadful, sprung mattress sagging in the middle. Windows very dirty, hair in the plughole, hardly any water pressure on the fourth floor.
Modern, convenient, lots of free parking. Nice setting among trees.
Staff very friendly and helpful as normal, room was excellent.
No on site electric charger for cars on site. Down stairs bathroom was looking tired. Food wasnt as good as last year.
Lovely staff lovely hotel breakfast was really nice
Little bit out of the way
Breakfast good / staff excellent, very helpful
A walk in shower
Very quiet
Nothing
Ive been an IHG member since 2015 and this is my hotel of choice when I need one. On this occasion I have the following observations; 1. They have changed the sausage at breakfast to something that is tasteless and fiberess. The addition of Veggy sausage was a plus but breakfast was ruined by replacing the pork sausage with something I cant recognise. Put the original sausage back. 2. Why is there nothing like a pizza on the menu no more? Its a sharing meal with kids where nothing else is there for them. 3. We were there for an anniversary stay and all we got was a crowd of footballers in the restaurant shouting, cheering and singing, so loud I could not hear what was said around me. Not one member of staff tried to quiet them down, so we had to put up with it. As a paying guest I thought us other customers should at least have been given consideration by the staff, but no. If I wanted football noise I would have gone to a football match. Wake up staff. 3. The double bed is very noisy when there is movement. Its high time they were replaced. It makes more noise than a 74 year old bones. 4. There used to be a larger selection of danish pastries, but we found only one.
The property on the whole was good.
The bathroom had issues which I reported to reception on my first night’s stay. But it wasn’t corrected.
The staf was very friendly, helpful, and nothing was to much trouble. I was on my mobility scooter to get around, the staff at breakfast helped me in every way they could, got my breakfast for me and drinks as and when I needed one.
I don't think anything could be improved, apart from no bitter or mild beer, and it being a Marston house.
Great location for my cycling event, good parking and nice gym/spa facilities Upon arriving there was a large wedding party in full swing. Due to the importance my sleep would be the night before my event, I ask the reception staff if we could move to a quiet room. We were treated wonderfully by the reception staff, they gave us a free drink whilst we waited for our new room to be cleaned and within 10 minutes it was ready. Really great service
Rooms were a little tired
The complimentary mini bar
Nothing
Always met with a smile. Great service from the team. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Location of the hotel is great for transport links
Location was ideal, customer service at reception and in restaurant was excellent as was dinner and breakfast.
Location was ideal for why we needed our stay
Could not have a shower as unable to get water temp below scolding. Cooked breakfast was luke warm/cold.
The Spa facilities and the kitchen staff . They are very friendly and welcoming
Disappointing Experience – Staff Attitude Let This Hotel Down The hotel itself has good facilities and was clean, but unfortunately, the attitude of some staff completely ruined our stay. On 20/08/2026 around 4:30pm, a tall white male staff member near the Spa was extremely rude towards myself and my friend in front of our children. He told us that no more than two children were allowed in the pool, despite my older children being teenagers (15 and 14) and the pool being only around two feet deep. The way this was communicated made us feel singled out and discriminated against as Black guests, If this is genuinely hotel policy, it should be clearly and consistently applied to everyone. There was also poor communication at reception. I was not informed that I needed to register my car for parking, although the £15 parking charge was taken without issue. I only discovered the registration requirement the following morning and was then told I would have to contact the hotel to deal with any potential parking ticket. Overall, the facilities and cleanliness were good, but the poor customer service, attitude and lack of communication overshadowed the positives. Would I stay again? Unfortunately, no. A hotel can have great facilities, but guests should also feel welcomed, respected and treated fairly.
All very good.
You have to pay for parking!
The staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. I liked having access to the pool facilities.
The rooms were tired, particularly the bathroom. The location was great if driving but not for those using the bus service.
Very clean, spacious and quiet at night
There was nothing I didn't like
Message to the owners of this hotel This could easily be the best hotel in Shipp The staff are so beautiful and the most helpful I’ve ever had The cleaners are fantastic The bar and the staff at the bar Kitchen are absolutely brilliant But would you please spend some money on keeping the rooms updated Honestly, they look like they haven’t been touched since the 1990s It’s a real shame Everything just looks like it’s extremely old, but not in a good way The ceiling tiles in the hallways are straight out of the 90s and they’ve been painted and you can tell The outside of the building looks like it’s from a war torn country, pay a man with with a jet washer to just clean the whole place There’s weeds everywhere growing up the building The pavements are uneven near the spa Everything is just very 90s I can see that they’ve really done well and keeping it looking good Guys, now the time to start spending some money on improving that hotel AC SHOULD ALWAYS WORK ACROSS THE HOTEL, that’s what you pay MAINTENANCE for This should be the jewel of Peterborough or even East anglia Spend some money, even expand a little bit you have the room Anyway, as I said, great staff, great food great place I’ll be back
I like the hotel
Room was comfortable and clean, member of staff who welcomed us was brilliant, she was very professional, prompt and clear
Breakfast is so good. Staff are very friendly Clean comfy beds
The staff very very friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotless. The spa and Pool was lovely easy excess easy reach.
Some of the chairs in the dining area really Need stain clean
Easy to find, very friendly welcome, the room was clean and very comfortable, the shower was very powerful. Breakfast was lovey with plenty to choose from, fresh fruit, English breakfast and fresh coffee.
I couldn’t fault this property.
Breakfast had variety of eggs instead of just scrambled. Best hotel fry up ive had for a while. Pool facilities were great and air con available. Me and my partner had a great time!
The food was really lovely in the restaurant but quite a steep price.
Location
Noisy room above mine
Staff. Cleanliness, food , location all great
Na
We spent 5 nights here as part of a group on a coach holiday and cannot praise the whole experience enough. The hotel is spacious, spotlessly clean, our room was large and very comfortable with a good en suite. The food was excellent with a splendid buffet breakfast choice and the three course dinner was beautifuly presented, with three choices for each course and with table service. The staff, without exception. were efficient, welcoming, friendly and helpful. We can thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Air-con worked great, despite the summer heat. They were kindly able to arrange early check-in for no extra cost. Sauna was a nice bonus.
Breakfast was quite busy, they were struggling for tables.
spa and pool were nice so were staff
rooms a bit tired especially bathroom
Staff were great, Hotel was clean, food was great and facilities were very good. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely spacious communal areas, super friendly staff, very clean. Great breakfast. Enjoyed an early swim in the pool next day. Really efficient and quiet air con in the room.
The duvet on the double bed wasn’t big enough, making for a bit of a restless night. Won’t stop us returning though as overall the hotel was excellent.
Convenience. Good parking. Friendly staff. Good deal for the children. Nice swimming pool.
Nothing
The gym swimming pool and spa area was nice, staff were friendly and attentive
Room surface failed to deliver Food took down the incorrect room number, on arrival I had nowhere to park however a receptionist did come out. I believe her name was Kia. She was amazing. The bed was uncomfortable. Pills were lumpy. It was two single beds put together and for some reason I kept ending up in the middle of them. Even though facilities were acceptable, it was overpacked wasn’t able to swim due to functions. Have we been made The aware of this? I probably would’ve booked it elsewhere.
Checked in to Peterborough West for a couple of nights and utilised the parking for £5 per day, which I felt was very reasonable. My first impression of the hotel was excellent. Everywhere was clean, tidy and looked very high end. I was greeted by a wonderful young lady on reception who checked me in quickly. We spoke briefly about an appointment I had, and the following day she wished me luck with it, which was a really thoughtful touch. The room was spacious and bright, and the complimentary minibar was very well received – thank you. The bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. The desk and lamp were useful and practical, and there was a working safe and plenty of hangers in the wardrobe. There was the odd stain and a very small amount of missed grime in the room, but otherwise it was clean and well presented. The soaps, shampoo and other products all felt to be of good quality. I ate in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner on both days, and each meal was excellent. The food and service were consistently very good. I also used the swimming pool twice and the sauna. These were some of the nicer leisure facilities I've used in a hotel, especially considering they are also open to the public. Overall, I had a great stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would definitely consider booking again if I'm staying in Peterborough.
The bathroom was looking a little tired. The bedroom just about got away with it, but the bathroom definitely felt like it could do with some TLC. The shower screen leaked quite badly and appeared to have been repaired several times with silicone. Water pressure was perfectly acceptable, but the shower head wouldn't stay in the higher position on the rail, which wasn't ideal as I'm quite tall. A soft-close toilet seat would also have been a nice touch. I did, however, really like the toiletries provided.
Was what we needed for the night.
There was no mini fridge in room but otherwise was acceptable.
The pillows could have been softer
Very comfortable bed. Good breakfast.
Bar prices were on the high side.
Chambre spacieuse, piscine chauffée accessible à toute heure avec des enfants, petit déjeuner très bon aussi!
It was very clean and comfortable
The bedding was a bit plasticy
Clean and convenient
Easy to find and park. Nice and airy with outside space. I was attending a seminar so it was perfect to be able to sleep, eat and work in the same place. Food was fine and breakfast was good. Staff were very helpful and kind. My room was quiet as I requested. My bedroom was a good size and mercifully there was aircon and even better it was quiet as often in hotels it isn't
Coffee machine coffee for our breaks vs flask coffees resulting in me having to separately purchase drinks during the event. There's nothing within walking distance if that matters to guests.
Stayed four nights on business. Location is convenient for the A1 and plenty of parking at the hotel (input your reg number on the screen in reception). Check in was quick and I was allocated a room on the fourth floor - it was a good size, but air con was not that effective. Breakfast was reasonable, although porridge was quite watery, but maybe others prefer it that way. I would stay again.
Bon rapport qualité prix, l'emplacement est calme et paisible, parfait pour une nuit d'étape. Le personnel est très gentil, le petit déjeuner est complet et bien.les chambres sont propres et confortables
Baignoire un peu vieillissante
breakfast, leisure facilities, location
very warm in bedroom, air con not working
Great hotel for what it is. Firstly staff are great, beyond helpful and welcoming, made the stay even better. Gym better than most hotel gyms. Clean hotel overall.
Pool area not fantastic. Needs a big clean (i believe I saw mould).
Everything was great, the hotel was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly and really helpful. The bed was very comfortable!
Hotel could have done with a vending machine in the lobby and our room was a bit tired looking but it wouldnt stop us staying again.
It was really nice to have access to the gym, swimming pool, hot tub and sauna, which were very good. The hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. Breakfast was exceptional!
All good.
All staff very helpful
Room and facilities
Great hotel. Location excellent for our Nene Valley Railway trip.
X
The hotel is in a lovely location, which I had not appreciated prior to my stay. I was delighted to find the hotel pool and spa area, which was an aspect of my stay that I had not thought much about beforehand but it turned into a real treat. The breakfast buffet had plenty of choices and was generous and very enjoyable. I like my room and bed, though I had a fan rather than air conditioning during a very hot weekend for my stay.
I did not mind the fan at all - it did the job - but air conditioning would probably have been better. I found a few extra charges for things that I had not been anticipating, e.g. parking, though I will qualify this by saying that I may not have been observant enough at the booking stage.
We Liked our room and we enjoyed the swimming pool, sauna, steam room
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
The staff was lovely and kind and happy the ladys at
Lift dated but no hassle
Staff very friendly and helpful
Very noisy external AC unit (I presume).
Location by Ferry Meadows is perfect and the breakfast was outstanding!
No dislikes at all.
Included breakfast was good, although some more vegan options would be appreciated. Location was good. Dining area was nice and the staff were very nice - gave us complimentary drinks as we were away for mums birthday.
Cleanliness. The corridors and rooms looked very tired and room carpet had not been hoovered and there were cobwebs. More vegan options at breakfast and better marking on items would be appreciated ie vegan yogurt, vegan porridge etc. pool area looking very tired.
The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful, along with the restaurant staff. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable.
The room was a nice size with great air conditioning and was really surprised by the breakfast choice with porridge and loved the pancake maker which I've never seen before
The foyer was warmer than other parts of the hotel so no sure if the air conditioning was off or broken, but it didn't spoil our overnight stay
Leisure facilities
Lack of food options
Noise, lots of it.. Windows are single glazed, so substantial road noise ever present all night from the Parkway. All internal doors slam heavily, so it’s a constant annoyance and I was woken 3-4 times by this. My room (345) was above the entrance and where people were outside smoking and talking until midnight, single glazing meant I heard all of it. I had earplugs, and still a very loud hotel. Dreadful night sleep, got about 2-3 hours so left absolutely shattered. Shame, as staff were fantastic and room decent. Won’t stay again, back to the Marriott down the road.
Lovely staff ,great room and breakfast
Pool small ,and very busy
Nice and clean. Staff very friendly.
Very good
Nothing
Staff very helpful on checking in. Gave us a room by the pool, as requested. King size bed comfortable. Pool lovely. Breakfast good. Good location for going cycling.
Nothing
Pool & gym. Bar and restaurant were clean and comfortable. Reception staff were friendly and polite.
Pillows were hard and uncomfortable. Shower mixer tap was loose and needed repairing. A robe to take to the pool would have been nice.
Welcome and friendliness of staff. Exceptional breakfast choice.
I occasionally travel to Peterborough for work, and my family, including my children, often accompany me. Every time we stay here, we have a wonderful experience, and a big part of that is thanks to the fantastic team at reception. The reception staff are always welcoming, professional, and genuinely helpful. They consistently go out of their way to accommodate our family's needs, especially by arranging an extra bed for my children before or upon arrival, which makes our stay so much more comfortable. I would especially like to thank Ellie and Nia at reception. They have been exceptional on every visit, always greeting us with a smile and doing everything they can to make our stay as smooth as possible. They have kindly arranged extra beds for my children whenever needed and have also assisted us with early check-in and late check-out whenever availability allowed. Their willingness to help and their outstanding customer service have made a real difference to our experience. The hotel is always clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it an excellent place to stay whether you're travelling for business or with family. Knowing that we will receive such warm and attentive service is one of the main reasons we continue to return whenever I am in Peterborough for work. Thank you to Ellie, Nia, and the entire reception team for consistently providing such excellent hospitality. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again on my future trips.
Good breakfast lots of choices. Good size room not overlooked and easy access. Free WiFi
Bedding was uncomfortable, duvet unnecessarily given in hot temperatures maybe a single cover would suffice. Noise from doors being banged close to room. Decent price for basic room could have been a bit cleaner, bath upgrade urgently needed. Disability means help getting into bath so loose grab handles on bath upgrade/maintenance.
comfortable rooms clean all staff are just amazing
Friendly and helpful Staff
Location
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was okay, bed comfy. Our biggest gripe is the prices! £14.50 for a salad bowl, which consisted of a gem lettuce, 5 croutons and a tiny amount of parmesan. An extra £6 for a small chicken breast and my friend only had 3 slices of halloumi also for £6 - we were not impressed. Also, almost £24 for a pint of lager shandy and a large white sauvignon. It was a nice stay, but save your money and go to the pub just down the road for food and drink.
This is our second visit, having previously given it a 5 star review and we are so glad that it is still a 5 star experience in our opinion ! We were staying for 2 nights, 2 rooms as we were visiting family to celebrate our daughter's 21st. The staff at reception, bar etc are all so lovely and friendly. The rooms are a good size, aircon very welcome ! The pool isn't hige, but big enough to have a dip and a nice bonus to the hotel. The breakfast offers a very good choice and uses good quality products. We did have a Coach load of kids staying on a school trip the friday night , and a different group the saturday, but we were not disturbed by noise. There was also a huge asian wedding on the saturday, but again, we didn't hear any noise from it. We will continue to come back here for future visits to Peterborough and highly recommend.
Breakfast choices plentiful. Reception manager very polite ( young lady) waiting staff in particular those fetching and carrying very nice and hard workingunhelpful
. The restaurant manager was a woman I think who was abrupt and very Unhelpful when I asked if my family of 8 could be placed on one table or even two close together. I requested this early morning for a late breakfast. She was abrupt in her “No”. However front desk manager came to our aid and sorted the issue.
The breakfast was good.
More attention to detail with ensuring that the room is cleaned to an exceptional standard ie removal of cobwebs to the bedroom window corners. Water stain marks on the bath panel. Limescale behind the shower tap
Staff were very helpful and everything's was good
We stayed one night on route to Norfolk. I have limited mobility so staying in a hotel requires some forward planning to ensure that we get an accessible room and easy access. We booked an accessible room which turned out to be on the first floor. The main lift didn’t stop on the first floor but they have a small wheelchair lift to help you get to the first floor. Unfortunately this was too small for my mobility scooter so I had no way of getting to my room. However the staff were really helpful and showed my wife a fire door that could be opened opposite our room which enabled me to enter the building quite easily. Due to the topography of the site the back of the hotel was level with floor one. All I had to do then was drive around the hotel on my scooter to access the door. The hotel is a large modern complex with an excellent gym and swim pool. The restaurant is acceptable and the bar and coffee shop are good. The rooms are comfortable and the accessible room has an excellent shower perfectly adapted to a disabled persons needs. Where this hotel really excels is in the quality of the staff. They couldn’t have been more helpful and were very friendly. The girl on reception (Nia) was exceptional and couldn’t do enough for us. All in all a very pleasant stay.
