Great location, onsite parking
The grounds were beautiful, the amenities were lovely
The bed was very hard and uncomfortable
Didn’t stay long enough
1980s furniture, damp, no support in bed, no care taken in presentation or cleaning, old decor, broken appliances in bathroom, chipped walls, trees and bushes pushing against window.
Very friendly welcome from Ellise when booking in. Room very clean - thank you Dona. Room size was great.
The peacefulness of the place.
Experience food.
The property had really nice grounds and outdoor area
The staff. The disrespect, no heating working, housekeeping hardly cleaning just replaced towels, no room service, no iron in room. WiFi no working no internet connection in rooms
I love the grounds and how quiet it is.
My room was very clean and Natalie did a fantastic job to prepare the room for me
Dinner was poor. The menu lacking in imagination. The restaurants were unavailable on the first night and we ended up eating in the bar which was very disappointing
The hotel was very cold. We mention this to a staff member and her reply was yes it is I’ve had to put a jumper on! I have stayed here several times before and found it pleasant. This time is seems run down.
Have stayed several times and always been made welcome. A sort of ‘home from home’. I can thoroughly recommend a stay here!
We had a very good room with 2 comfortable double beds overlooking the lovely grounds. All the staff we came in contact with were very pleasant. The place was very dog friendly.. Will stay again
The furnishings were a little dated there was a.lot of noise during the evening near our room but it settled down by the time.w we went to bed
The grounds were lovely and it was a nice location
The hotel is so run down. Tired is an understatement. There are bits of ceiling taped back together, water damaged and the rooms need so much work. The room wasn’t clean when we checked in, rubbish on the floor, stained carpet and the bathroom was really bad. The downstairs room were smoking cigarettes and weed on their balcony and the smell was drifting in through our closed windows all night, and we made several complaints as we have a young baby. The room smelt so bad it was as if we’d been smoking in it ourselves. The hotel reception was not interested in helping us at all and said people can do what they like in the property. They offered us a room to move into that they said isn’t usually used as it’s so old and run down. The corridors also reek of stale cigarettes and weed. Do not stay here… it’s a total waste of money and a real dump. Breakfast was also comparable to airplane food and the staff working at breakfast stunk of cigarettes too.
Characterful hotel, well located for Endcliffe Park and Brammall Lane. Nice pool and my son loved the free play pool table. Friendly staff.
Sound proofing was a bit lacking and/or some very noisy people in the hall. Wifi was slow and phone signal bad.
The staff were very friendly and helpful the cleanliness of the room was quite excellent and also the room was quiet spacious
Considering a 4 star hotel there was no fridge in the room also the pillows were quite flat and 2 of the lamps weren’t working
Beautiful grounds. Everyone was really friendly. Buffet breakfast had everything we needed 😋. Swimming pool and jacuzzi plus sauna really nice
Due to use having a dog with us meant our room wasn't the best kept. But it served a purpose.
Great location, lovely and clean and friendly staff
Staff very friendly and welcoming.
Gym was in poor condition, with very dated equipment. Poor choice of meals from bar/ restaurant.
My fifth stay this summer - amazing location and grounds with super friendly staff - and actually super friendly other guests - a home from home!
All good
The staff was amazing 👏
Good staff , clean , good location ,would call again if in area.
For our liking the mattress was to soft
Good location, friendly staff and good breakfast
I wasn’t aware it was a dog friendly hotel, we were woken up around 4.30 in the morning by dogs in the room next door barking which wasn’t ideal. The bathrooms could do with updating.
Location and grounds were great
You get what you pay for. I expected a better room that maybe had a fridge, air con. But as I say you get what you pay for. So much potential if the money was invested in the property
Beautiful and clean. Staff were very friendly and kind. Pool was warm, Jacuzzi was amazing. Loved sauna and steam room had amazing sent I think eucalyptus, so relaxing. Very near to good eating places and Morrisons 24/7 open nearby
8am - 8pm spa and swimming facilities. I wish they kept them open a little longer. The massage is £75 per person and they was 10% discount as hotel guests but still was expensive for what it was as spa massage was too soft.
Good location. We had a superior room which was really spacious, very clean, very comfortable bed. Enjoyed the spa facilities and the massage spa treatment was very good.
A little bit too corporate for my taste but the staff were great and the room was very clean.
I liked that it was affordable and near shops and restaurants. It also had beautiful grounds, pool, steam room etc. Could get a drink and something to eat pretty late. Had a deep bath in bathroom with wash products and the room was spacious with a very comfortable bed
I wouldn’t like to say there was anything I didn’t like as I will be back and had a great stay but if I had to say something I would say the bathroom could have some better cleaning. Also the toilet roll was half used. But literally apart from that everything was perfect
I liked that it was both in the centre to go places and to have the quiet in the grounds
There was a celebration, so load music playing all night, so people that was not at the celebration, should have not been in a room right next to the music
The breakfast and the spa was very good
The noise from the weddings that took place on both nights. Disco could be heard until midnight on Saturday. Could not sleep. Poor parking facilities only 2 disabled spaces. Both were taken. No where to sit in the reception area. Taken up by wedding guests. Poor reception staff never at the desk. Very poor lighting in our room.
Location was nice and quiet and nice grounds. Free parking within the hotel grounds. Room was spacious and bed comfortable with good size tv.
Although the room was clean, it could do with a bit of a refurbishment.
Location for good bars and food
The hotel was very dated. The suite given wasnt the quality or views we had hoped. Maintenance poor. Bar area not cosy or welcoming. Felt more like a driveby quick stop rather than a starred hotel. Wouldnt stay here again.
The hotel was stunning, such a serene place to be it felt like a million miles away from the busy city, with its beautiful lake and lawns it's the perfect getaway. The staff were super friendly and attentive, nothing was too much for them. The beds and pillows were so comfy my teen wanted to bring them home! The rainfall shower was very welcoming. The pool and spa area was really relaxing but could do with more sun loungers as it does get busy.
The pool area was lovely but very small , crowded and the sun lounger cushions were soaked as they weren't waterproof. It was relaxing but I think a few tweaks are needed. And a small mini fridge in the room would be good as no one wants to drink room temp water.
Got a lovely upgrade to our room. Was beautiful. Very spacious. Was attending a wedding. The staff were all fantastic
Nothing to dislike
Lovely views from our bedroom. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our walk around the grounds in the morning and playing lawn games
Location
Bed was extremely uncomfortable, shower pitiful, staff couldn’t be bothered to clear empty glasses and rubbish from tables in the bar
Very friendly staff and welcoming. The place is clean and the food amazing
Nothing
Room was very clean
The Spa had a couple loose drain panels and could’ve been a bit better with maintenance
Beautiful location
Nothing at all!!!
The rooms and grounds
The bar food was priced too high for some of the meals such as the kerbs. And pizza’s they were not worth them money
Die Lage und das äußere Erscheinungsbild
Das Zimmer war nicht sauber und renovierungsbedürftig. Wegen einer Hochzeit sehr laut
Amazing place. Whole exterior was beautiful! Lovely place to walk around, aswell as inside:)
The restaurant food was disappointing, everything was cold.
Staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Nicky behind the reception. Location great. Half hour walk into Sheffield city centres and great green areas nearby. Great for walking.
Little crowded with different events sometimes.,
Staff were pleasant and very helpful
Nothing
Lovely grounds Lovely rooms Excellent staff
I would have liked to be in a room next to my family
Room well set out. Murder mystery very good.
Parking was difficult, very full, not priority for guests. Food very average.
The staff were very friendly and helpful which was a big plus .
The gym wasn't well signposted. I went into the small first floor exercise area and only discovered the proper gym, when I walked down to the pool. Signage coud be better. Just a small thing.
Was upgraded
Can get busy with events
Privilege rooms were very spacious. Comfortable bed. Large TV. Breakfast was good value.
Drink prices a bit expensive. Pool changing room floor needed cleaning.
The huge grounds to explore
Old fashioned room
Location is good and hotel is quiet.
Property is a bit tired now, and reception area is very odd with bar and pool tables next to check in.
Staff were super friendly. Room had ana amazing view. Swimming pool to ourselves. Beautiful
Room a bit dated. Could do with a bit of a facelift.
Good breakfast
Very run down. In need of a full refurbishment.
The bed was very comfortable It was nice to walk out of the room and around the lake The evening meal and breakfast was beautiful
Food left over from previous guest on patio Tele channels didn't work until later in the evening
Lovely hotel, friendly staff in a great quiet area not far from city centre. My room had a terrace which was lovely and suited a smoker saving lots of trips outside!
No sockets by bed which meant using laptop and charging phone overnight problematic. They were miles away by the desk. I didn’t ask for any help but I’m sure a solution could be found.
Helpful and friendly staff.
Can't think of anything.
Location Grounds Staff
Dirty - poo on the curtain Mattress was so old and uncomfortable Pillows were very thin Bathroom needs updating Carpet old and needs chucking out Fan was noisy but needed as no air conditioning
Great price for a pool and lovely grounds. We went for our honeymoon and got upgraded to a nicer room with a balcony!
Beautiful Hotel in a lovely setting
Nothing
Very comfortable, a home from home and a place to relax!
All the staff were excellent. Friendly and helpful. Lisa was wonderful. Always a pleasure to be greeted by her. Thank you all so much.
Nothing. All good.
The staff were great, lots of space in the room and the facilities were clean and great to use!
The gym needed updating but it works for a quick workout!
A lovely little oasis near Sheffield city centre.
My room was laughably far away from the reception… the pool and sauna shut at 8pm which is way too soon.
Lovely staff and fabulous location
Communication beforehand Check in process Size of room Facilities - swimming pool, pool table
Mattresses were hard No plug sockets near bed Room was a little tired
Reception staff were very welcoming room was nice and clean Spa was clean and not too busy
THE STAFF ALL VERY PLEASANT BREAKFAST VERY GOOD
LACK OF PARKING WHEN WEDDINGS TAKING PLACE.ALSO NO BEERS AVAILABLE DUE TO WEDDINGS ON
Schönes Hotel. Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Zimmer. Die Außenanlage ist sehr gepflegt.
Die Öffnungszeiten des Pools. Der war nur bis 18 Uhr offen.
Good location
Shower didn’t work
We paid £179 each for ‘junior suites’ initially one was meant to be a superior king suite but we agreed to change so rooms could be nearby each other. We did not get any discount for this. both rooms were extremely dated, not particularly clean. Had an adjoining door to next room that could not lock Altho the maintenance man did come promptly to try to fix it. One of the rooms had a very bad smell to it, smelled like sewage.
Most of it.
The swimming pool was too hot and the jacuzzi scalding so that we weren't able to get in it. Surely a waste of energy!
Location and grounds.
The rooms were very dated and basic.
Room size and location
Lack of info from check in, do you need breakfast? where our rooms were....told what to expect at breakfast after the Fawlty towers night the night before with everyone in character when struggling with mornings after the night before
The location is lovely the hotel it’s self is lovely too
The room was miles away, may aswell have slept at home.. my disabled mother struggled to walk, I asked if there was any availability to move closer to eveything but all rooms were booked due to a wedding.. the pool was packed with children using it as a swimming lesson, we came away for a relaxing night away and was getting splashed from every angle kids were jumping in and kids were using the hottub all in all not relaxing, the beds were really uncomfortable me and mum both had a rubbish night sleep, were more stressed then before we arrived. This was meant to be a nice night away for my mums birthday we may aswell have stayed at home..
Room - needed a little TLC No bottled water provided (should have been according to information sheet) Toilet blockage
No A/C Pathetic desk fan.
The setting and convenience. Excellent breakfast.
Bar food choices a bit limited.
Everything was great until the van was broken into whilst in the carpark
Good choice for breakfast, nice pool and sauna, lovely grounds with lake. The staff were friendly and helpful.
everything was perfect with great views and relaxation
Lovely hotel
The only issue for me was the pillows not very comfortable. Other than that can’t fault the place
The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was really good.
A bit dated in the bathroom but the shower was hot and refreshing after a long day.
The walk around the lake and the breakfast
Nothing ,all perfect
Nice but a little dated
Nothing.
AVOID THIS HOTEL We stayed for 2 nights for my brothers wedding. The staff were accommodating for all of 5 minutes when checking in but sadly, the experience went downhill from there. I booked 2 rooms with separate bookings as I added an extra night on last minute and couldn’t extend the room I had already booked. Upon arrival, the receptionist did change our room so that we could stay for the 2 nights in the same room, however, we would have to downgrade the room as one night was a premium room and the other was a standard room. We accepted this as it would be easier for us to stay in the same room with it being my brothers wedding. Sadly, it went downhill from here. Upon entering the room, me and my mom noticed a terrible water gushing sound in room 230. We initially thought it may be a running shower so left it half an hour. The intrusive, terrible sound did not stop so we went to reception to make a complaint about the sound and we were immediately dismissed and spoken to in a patronising tone. The receptionist told us that we could simply get a refund and go to a different hotel which we did not want to do with it being a family wedding and everyone staying in the same hotel. We had to be up at 5am to get to the wedding venue, Whirlow Brook Hall, and had a taxi arranged for pick up from the hotel. This upset my mom a lot as we did not want to start the wedding celebrations this way. The maintenance man was sent to the room, who was kind and offered a drink voucher, however this was simply not good enough. The noise was so loud, it kept me awake for 2 nights, impacting one of the most important days of my life in family celebrations. Since being home, the complaint has not been dealt with at all. I have had to chase the hotel after being cut off on the phone and my emails ignored. After finally getting through after 5 days, the attitude from Lisa, the reception manager has mirrored that of the receptionist on the day.
Friendly staff
Dated, broken, very dirty
I loved the surrounding lake and walks and the Spa was great My bed was comfortable and there was a bath as well as a shower in my room
I didn’t get much phone reception in the room unfortunately and the wi fi was unsecured so my phone network wouldn’t connect
Food in the bar (but tables not cleaned until requested)
Room not very clean - thick dust under the TV shelf. Hand basin was cracked (so harbouring germs). Room was not cleaned on the second day. Lots of bits on the carpet. Bathroom very shabby - the finish to the shelf at the end of the bath was appalling. Steps from the carpark up to the front entrance are dangerous as there is no handrail until half way up the flight of steps.Went to swim. Staff must have seen that I have mobility issues but did not tell me that a lift was available to pool level and left me to struggle down the 20 or so steps down to the pool.
Location and staff
Very dated. Limited plugs in rooms. Terrible WiFi.
Discovered that they had an 'ice cream parlour' what a brilliant idea, but was very disappointed. The selection of ice creams and cones were limited and of poor quality. The staff made me feel that we were an inconvenience to them, no pleasantries. The only plus was that there was a free pool table.
Reasonable room. Decor is tired but the place is very clean. Breakfast very good. Check in was quite poor as our room wasnt ready and we had to wait. We got a basic apology. Staff were okay overall. We wanted to change our booking so we called the number shown on a search. We got through to someone that I found very difficult to understand. I have hearing problems. Eventually I gave up. I enjoyed walking around the gardens which are very pretty. Overall I'd say this is a good place to stay when the prices are low but I've seen some online at over £200 and its definitely not worth that much.
The staff on reception are amazing.
The room was very outdated, the bathroom was filthy and the toilet came off the wall every time it was sat on. The pool area was also filthy with brown/black floating things in. We left as soon as we saw these. The food was very overpriced it was just not a good experience. It was extremely loud in the rooms.
Grounds with games Friendly helpful staff
Dirty very hot swimming pool. Rather dingy room.
Came to a wedding reception with family had a lovely time, hotel lovely grounds beautiful, and mostly the greeting we got at reception from the receptionist Nicky was amazing so sweet and profe
Everything
Nothing
Location. Very useful for visiting family in the area. We use it quite often for this reason. Breakfast is very good. Privilege room was only one available this visit and the extra space was excellent.
Nothing really. Decor is a little tired.
Room not fit for purpose due to noise of water flowing constantly, no sleep for the two nights stay. Staff attitude shocking, customer service appalling. No accountability and did not attempt to rectify. Will never stay again and would not recommend.
The facilities were very good and clean the grounds were lovely.
Can't say there was anything we didnt like
The facilities on offer here are quite good, we used the pool and enjoyed drinks at the hotel in the afternoon and evening. I also liked that they have family rooms enough to sleep a family of 4.
Room and hotel are looking a little tired. Feel like it needs some tlc in areas and some updating. It’s not quite a luxury spa hotel which is a shame as it has great potential
A fantastic five days four nights here.staued with Edwards coach holidays.the staff absolutely amazing.asked for fresh milk if possible and no problem at all just ask at the bar and more than willing to oblige,as I had had a long trip up on the Sunday and was around a mile to the nearest shops to get some.kazia or kezia forgotten her name so friendly as we're all the staff.absolutely nothing too much trouble at all.the hotel was clean, the room was stunning I had 308 with lovely views.as for comments on here about hardly any charging points my word how many do people need there are loads.there was tea coffee milk biscuits and bottled water replenished daily .lovely double bed and shower and the food was lovely too.the staff worked endlessly ,especially as they had two wedding reception functions on on the Tuesday and the Wednesday so were extra busy .five stars from me and thank you for a lovely week ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
