the hotel smelt and had an overall dirty fell to it, guy on reception when we checked in obvioulsy used English as a second or maybe even thrid language. You dont expect the hilton to feel like your staying in a 3rd world country, Lesson learned.

The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in.

After a bad experience with an apartment on booking.com that turned out to be a non-existent scam we booked a room at the Hilton very late, on a laptop, sitting in the car. We arrived 10 minutes after booking and check in was smooth and helpful. There is a car park on site that you pay for separately at a machine in the foyer, which is understandable for a city centre location and benefits people using more eco friendly transport. The best thing was the staff, who are all genuinely lovely, friendly, helpful people, who clearly have an excellent team ethos. After going out for dinner we realised that the duvet and pillows were feather, which my partner is very allergic to. Quite late at night we phoned reception and someone brought synthetic bedding to our room within minutes. Thank you so much for a non-sneezy night! The bar staff were also very kind. Hilton hotels are not really our thing but we would stay here again because of the excellent staff. Recommend Church - Temple of Fun restaurant.

Bedroom and bar area decor is not to my taste. Football stadium next door so likely to be busy on match days.

The proximity to Sheffield United 1889 was a huge bonus as it meant I was just 2 minutes from where I needed to be!

Location- right next to the football stadium on game day is a nightmare to get to with road closures and noise. It wasn’t clean- there were large pieces of cut toe-nails on the floor. We told reception who apologised and said someone would be up to clean it up. But nobody came. The pillow case smelt bad.

Everything could not fault our stay. Will stay again.

Really enjoyed my stay this time round. The King suite is lovely spacious and comfy bed. Nice room. All the staff very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Food was great. I loved the breakfast and dinner room service. Cleaning staff, reception staff and kitchen all super nice and helpful.

There was no bathtub this time but that's just a minor thing and the view wasn't great - if I had to be picky. It was no bother.

Pillows far too soft - even putting two into one pillow case didn’t improve it by much. No refrigerator - so I couldn’t keep my drinks cold (it was hot weather at the time of my stay).

The room was good for us. The temperature was easy to adjust, the room was quiet ( perhaps the hotel was not very full). The bed was comfortable, including the pillows. Bathroom lovely ad everywhere was clean. We enjoyed the breakfast with it’s range of foods available and staff in that area were exceptionally pleasant and helpful.

As the team were playing away we could find space in the carpark which we needed. We would probably not stay here at the moment if we could not guarantee a carparking space as one of us is awaiting an operation and not walking easily.

Perfect for a weekend stay, food was amazing.

Beds were very comfy. Cleaning staff and kitchen staff as well as room service were very friendly. Most of reception staff as well. It was good to have a water dispenser in the lounge.

It's a shame that there was no mini fridge. I was used to having them in my hotel room whenever I stayed at other hilton branches and that there was no disposable slippers and ir was hard to get a bathrobe. Sink was blocked already on the first day which I had to report but it was fixed within an hour. Air-conditioning didn't stick to set temperature and was a bit smelly at times.

We enjoyed out stay and breakfast was good and relaxed. They give us a warm chocolate chip cookie on arrival which was delicious. The room was spacious. We had two children with us so this was important.

The parking space was limited and would have preferred allocated spacing as we needed to come in and out of the hotel. There was parking space at the stadium but we didn't know whether we were allowed to use it. We made sure we stayed when there wasn't a football match as it is right next to the stadium but something to bear in mind when booking as I imagine that the roads around could get quite busy.

Arriving on a home football match day. Our mistake as hadn’t realised but it wasn’t really an issue apart from not being able to get parked nearby.

Late booking - price was very good, especially as a Friday night. Easy check in. Room large and cool (outside was 30 degrees). Everything we needed in room. Location is outside Town Centre but still lots around the venue - eateries etc.

Comfortable foyer and bar area. Room was quite spacious and very clean. Very little noise. Right beside Sheffield United football ground. Bar food menu had a lot of choice.

An ideal base for exploring Sheffield, but not as near city centre as other hotels. Air conditioning could have been a lot better, especially on sixth floor.

My children and husband were so happy when we arrived, they were jumping for joy! The welcome, the air conditioning, the room size, the restaurant were all amazing. The staff attended to every request quickly and properly.

Complimentary cookies on arrival - such a lovely gesture. The staff were all so kind and smiled. The room was stunning and spacious and everything was so clean.

There was only 1 sugar sachet in the room and two tea bags. Would have liked a couple more for an evening and morning tea for us both.

The stay lived up to expectations for this kind of hotel. It was easy to find a parking space in the car park. Parking charges seemed reasonable. Breakfast was tasty. The hotel staff were friendly. The location, just outside the inner ring road and a short distance from the city centre, was convenient.

I didn't like being asked to pay a refundable £50 breakage deposit on arrival. I hadn't noticed this in the booking conditions.

Can't have a light breakfast toast and coffee £15.95 extortionate price. Then ordered just a coffee at £3.95 get charged £4.20 and told prices changed a week ago but menu stated £3.95 totally ripping people off !!!

The room was exceptionally spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with effective air conditioning that made the room particularly pleasant. I also enjoyed both an evening meal and breakfast in the hotel restaurant, and the quality of the food and service at both meals was outstanding. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I had one of the best night's sleeps I've had in a hotel for some time. The hotel and staff was welcoming, well-maintained, and provided everything I needed for a relaxing stay.

I genuinely cannot think of any aspect of my stay that could have been improved. Everything met or exceeded my expectations, and there was nothing I did not like. I would happily stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to others.

The staff, as always are absolutely impeccable. Always so accommodating and just all come across as really lovely people.

Parking, I couldn’t get parked and it seems that the cars in the car park were not even guests of the hotel. But the reception staff, let me know when a place became available. Once again, the staff excel 🙌. If I could nominate a crew of staff from any business to receive an award for exceptional service, it would be this team.

High standard of service and staff hard working and friendly. The breakfast staff were excellent - especially Kirsty - she made every one welcome and could not help enough - this is a refection of all the staff Breakfast had excellent range of choice .

I would have rated my stay 10 out of 10, but unfortunately there were Skittles sweets and noodles left under the bed by previous guests. Reception staff responded promptly and resolved the issue quickly, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, as I was staying on a half-board package, I was incorrectly charged the full price for my evening meal instead of receiving the £50 half-board allowance. This issue is still being resolved. I was also surprised to find an additional service charge added to my bill, as there was no advance warning and nothing on the receipt indicating whether it was discretionary or mandatory. I am always happy to tip for good service, but I believe guests should be informed clearly before any service charge is added.

Great location, even without being “football” people, it’s central and easy to navigate to and from. Lovely welcoming staff from the moment we arrived to leaving. We had an accessible room, very comfy and spacious. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff or kitchen to accommodate.

The car park was even more expensive than advertised. It cost £64 for a 4 night stay and we went out for the entirety of each day. The menu was a bit limited but there are plenty of good restaurants in Sheffield so not a big deal. The air con failed on the hottest weekend of the year so far. Timing.

Great aircon in the rooms which was needed on the 34 degree day. Bed very comfy, good sized room and large TV for the World Cup. Gym is small but enough for a simple workout. Breakfast was tasty

Shower gel bottle was empty. Couldn't have a cold shower. Coldest temperature was still hot.

Was able to check into my room early which was really helpful as allowed me to get ready for my wedding that day.

The AC in our room was not working, in stead of cooling the room down it infact heated up the room so was extremely hot when we came back to our room that night. Took hours to cool the room back down again which meant me & wife couldn't get to sleep.
