We won't be staying here again or recommend this hotel. Our room bed was dirty and had black long hair all over it ( we are blonds) kitchenette was not equipped with even a basic pan ( it has a oven, you need a baking sheet pan!!) We asked for k cups for coffee every singe day and when we asked for a quite a few rather then having to come down to lobby every morning, we received decaf. No parking for paying hotel guests (our room was $531 a night ), event guests were prioritized and we had to fight for parking or park and walk from a neighbor hotel. Rooms are dated with chipped walls and chipped run down Thrift store furniture. The bathroom cabinet doors were hanging off the hinges. We told all our friends at the dance comp not to stay here. We drove 12 hours from Edm and regretted this choice of hotel.
The bed was okay, the room was fairly large.
The TV was extremely small for the room, the lack of consideration by the room next to us. They played extremely loud music until 4am. It was challenging to sleep.
Location, nice restaurant
Noisy AC clicking on and banging all night. Bed sheet had large dried blood spots on it
Location was great and closer to main activities and beaches
Their rooms need renovations and more cleanliness. Quite noisy guests which is not under the hotel control but could do better…
The room was bigger than I expected, cleaner than I expected and quieter than I expected
Front desk staff were very congenial to mention a name Ryley Kalishnakoff, the restaurant staff were a joy to be served by Kyle and Oleh thank you for a wonderful time and Lisa your management of the restaurant is great. Thank you we will be back in spring.
No issues
The views from the location are amazing. The hotel itself is maybe a 3 star in need of a big renovation. The hallways boast new carpet and a fresh look, but it stops there. Tired furniture, outdated fixtures and appliances, slow elevator, and management & staff who just don't care. They told me they offer room service, but when I went to order, I was told there was no one to deliver it to the room. Surely someone is cross trained to do that. The boardwalk was closed for repairs and has been for a while, but there was no mention of that when making the reservation. The biggest issue was no heat on our final night. A call to the front desk and was told maintenance would be there shortly. Two hours later, no maintenance, and another call to front desk where the girl argued with me that she sent maintenance. I was in the room, they never came. About 20 minutes later, maintenance came, but could not fix it. They brought a small space heater and told me I would need a second one and they would be right back with it, guess what, they never returned. I called twice to speak with the manager. Not available, in meetings. Asked for the manager at check out, not available, in meetings. Finally the manager called me that evening after check out, listened to my concerns, and told me he would review my folio and email me back letting me know what adjustment could be made. I asked for one night comped. Guess what? No email. I finally told my story on their guest satisfaction survey and two days later the manager emailed me and gave me 50% off one night plus a refund of the resort fees, which I was not to be charged to begin with as it was a part of the group deal negotiated. The most disappointing was that no one, including management followed up on a guest concern in a timely manor. I am eager to read the response to this review that will sound like the same response to all of the other many 2 and 3 star reviews. We take it seriously, we will use it to improve, blah blah blah. Taking it seriously is following up with the guest in a timely manor and not blowing them off until they write a review. Stay elsewhere, if you experience an issue, you will wish you had.
Location is superb with beautiful waterfront views. The dining room/lounge is elegant and appealing but the food quality is mediocre at best. The room furnishings are worn and dated, likely 20 years old.
There was movie or something being shot at the property so there was limited access to the amenities. The hot tub was not very clean and there were no towels, even after the requested from the front desk and they told me they be delivered right away. Overpriced for the quality of room.
Beautiful location, enjoyed the pool.
We really missed the beautiful breakfast service that used to be on the patio. Also the boardwalk is one of the special parts of the resort so please get it repaired. Many people were disappointed to have the waterfront walkway inaccessible.
Only one elevator. Bad enough but had a movie shoot on top floor and movie equipment being moved in and out using only elevator causing long waits. Many upset people
Close to a spectacular lake view. Nice Restaurant and a littlenshop available. Wather bottle as present fot refulling at watherstations (green the world) Coffee station, superfriendly staff.
Beds and bathroom felt clean. I think our unit needs a new dishwasher. Very dirty down beside the washer/dryer. It could stand new carpet in the living room and definitely a paint job. I don't think anyone cleans the windows on the outside. It's just that when you pay that much money for a stay, you expect a bit more. The staff was great, so friendly and helpful. The property was beautiful. They were filming a movie when we were there so parts of the hotel and amenities were shut down at times. The crew of the movie were very nice and it was kind of cool watching them.
Disappointing Stay at Manteo Resort Despite High Expectations After a busy 2.5-week journey from Vancouver stopping off at other beautiful locations and hotels for our 25th anniversary , we were looking forward to relaxing at Manteo Resort, we were into the last few days of our 3 week trip. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to the expectations set by the “Delux guestroom, lakeside ” that we booked. The view was obstructed by overgrown trees and a smelly stream, making the promised lake view nearly nonexistent. The balcony was small and basic, with cobweb covered furniture that clearly hadn’t been used or maintained. While the bed was comfortable and the room itself pleasant, the bathroom was cramped and oddly designed the basin was located outside the bathroom door in the main room. There was also an awful noise which vibrated in our room and our friend’s room , we presume this was from the air conditioning motors . It could also be heard in the corridor. Our friends had a disturbed nights sleep with there door rattling all night , so they did complain to reception and were moved to another room which was overlooking the carpark ( not what they paid for ) the hotel have offered a free night but as we are from the UK this isn’t an option. We were disappointed to find the boardwalk closed for repairs, with no prior notice given. Additionally, the beach walk was inaccessible due to private ownership, limiting outdoor options. Dining was another challenge. Both the Manteo and Eldorado bars/restaurants were too busy to accommodate us, and we ended up at a nearby café on arrival to grab a drink only canned sodas or coffee were available. There are no restaurants in close proximity to the resort other than at the hotel , and the nearest options required a mile-long walk. While this wasn’t an issue for us, it could be difficult for older or less mobile guests. Overall, while the resort had some redeeming qualities, the lack of communication, limited amenities, and underwhelming room features made for a disappointing end to our trip. We booked our trip through our local independent travel agent who is a Specialist in Canadian trips so will be feeding this information back to her .
Wont use expedia again to do my bookings.
Indoor pool was under construction which we didn't know when booking. Outdoor kind of cold to go into pool. Otherwise overall experience was good.... beautiful view of lake and mountains. They arranged nice surprise cake for my mom's birthday, which was nice. Thanks
Great location, very helpful staff and a wonderful restaurant. I highly recommend.
Beautiful and very comfortable property. It was spacious with loads of activities available at the resort. I’ll definitely be back!
Getting a little warn.
A totally disappointing experience! We booked a superior lake view room - what we got was a dated room overlooking a dirty stream and trees that blocked the view of the lake. The bathroom was so small the sink was outside the bathroom. The room we were in was next to the main ventilation system for the hotel so was extremely noisy and the vibrations from this rattled the main door all night. The noise and vibrations also affected the rooms on either side of us and vibrations could be felt in main corridor. We spoke to reception who moved us the next day, but to a room that overlooked the carpark - not what we booked or paid for. The boardwalk was also closed, no pre-warning before we arrived or even upon arrival. After travelling around Canada for over three weeks this was by far the worst hotel we stayed in.
Echt hele ruime kamers, we zaten in een villa met drie verdiepingen. Maestro restaurant was fantastisch! Je kunt ook bij El dorado eten wat er naast zit, maar maestro is vele malen sfeervoller. Twee zwembaden en ook nog eens een prima fitness.
I really enjoyed the surroundings of the location — it’s beautiful and relaxing, which made our stay pleasant. However, the building itself feels old and could really use an upgrade. For the price point of around $500/night, I was expecting a more modern and refreshed room. The ordinary rooms especially don’t quite match the cost. Overall, great location but the accommodations need improvement to reflect the value of what guests are paying.
Had a great stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s nice to see everyone seem to enjoy working there. We enjoyed having the facilities of both hotels at our convenience.
The rooms are outdated
NICELY LOCATED BUT IN NEED OF MONDERNIZATION OLD TUB AND SHOWER COMBO. FAUCET WAS OLD AND LOOSE IN THE WASHROOM. DEFINITELY NEEDS A RENOVATION
Location
A bit run down -limited food service
Clean room, 2 Great reaturants with outdoor seating. Lots of Gluten free options. (Celiac)
AC is kind of old system
Maybe changing the AC system
Very nice location on the water. Lots of activities. Loved the adults only pool option! Great restaurants and friendly staff.
Our room was overlooking the water and had a beautiful view, but at night was noisy due to the restaurant being below us.
The hotel and the amenities it provided was overall spectacular. Definitely gave you a vibe of staying at a resort. You have your own private beach, docks, walking paths, pools, restaurants, etc! The food was spectacular and the staff where amazing! Rated 3 stars because there was spider webs with 100's of spider eggs on top of the curtain rail in our room (gross), a weird smell coming from the drain hole of the bathtub one evening that smelt like sewage. We had to put a towel at the bottom of the door so the smell wouldn't carry into the room. It persisted to the following day as well. I also woke up 3-6 times at night as our room was facing the parking lot and you could hear the music they where playing downstairs by the main door. They kept the music playing 24 hours a day. Super unfortunate as we did enjoy staying here, but felt I had to be honest with my review.
The room and staff were very nice. However, I booked and paid through Expedia but was charged an additional $30 per day "resort" fee that I was not told about until check-out. This is unacceptable business practice for both Manteo and Expedia. I booked and paid for my stay using Expedia and we agreed on a price
Friendly staff. Beautiful location.
Our room was supposed to be a mountain view .It was a view of the parking lot. The hotel misrepresented itself.
Overall very good stay. The only downside of the location is the lack of a swimmable beach. The lake on that coast is very shallow and there are lots of seaweeds. The only chance to have a good swim in the lake is to use a paddle board and to go far off the shore.
Nothing
The Manteo has a great location in Kelowna, and the on-site restaurant was decent, but unfortunately our overall experience was very disappointing. • Housekeeping: Despite numerous requests, our room was not refreshed and sheets were only changed after5 nights when we finally complained. • E-Bike Storage: We left our very expensive e-bikes with their claim check, and on two occasions we waited up to an hour while staff tried to “find” them. This left us uneasy about security. • Bathroom Condition: The shower had visible mold. • Comfort: The pillows were terrible—flat and uncomfortable. For the price point and reputation, the service and upkeep fell far below expectations. Sadly, we cannot recommend this property.
Good
Lakeside dining, private beach
The key cards to the room wasn’t working on several occasions. This was quite annoying as you would be tired and wet after visiting the pool trying to get into your room and you can’t.
Nothing that we liked really - the bathroom was dirty, shower clogged and staff was not helpful and didn’t have the right information for us for breakfast and ended up not having breakfast even though we paid for it in advance…
🙂
Hallways being renovated, dirty hallways, room is outdated
It is friendly
It is a nice location. The private beach, however, is quite tiny. They were some issues with the room cards, not working, although this is happened to me at other places, and the staff was quite responsive in fixing it.
Good location on the lake and a nice complement to the Hotel Eldorado
NO VIP EXTRAS OFFERED.
AVOID GO TO Delta Instead !!!!!!! horrible in every way possible, rooms trash, food 4/10 , renting the boats A massive hassle.
Very peaceful stay
Beautiful resort, third or fourth time staying here and we’ll be back again! Grounds are beautiful and well looked after, staff are all helpful, professional and friendly, specifically Michelle at the front desk who was fantastic and helped us switch to a a lakeview suite for part of our stay. Restaurants have good food, private beach is on the smaller side but still a nice touch, fishing off the marina dock is great fun! Far enough away from downtown in a nice and quieter area but still only a 10 min drive away. Definitely recommend this resort if you’re in Kelowna for a vacation.
Came here August 2025, asked for a room prior to stay that isn’t facing the parking lot, they confirmed we would not. Then when we arrived double checked they said yup, you will not face the parking lot. Booked 3 months early so lots of time in advance. Got our room and facing parking lot. Called, they did not care. Came for our anniversary wanted a nice room/view. We mentioned this, they didn’t care and said, sorry that’s all we have. Missing things in our room. Asked for more chairs for tiny patio as we have two kids, they said no we don’t have anymore. Not accommodating at all, staff not willing to accommodate, room very small and basic. Bathroom so small, need ms a makeover. For the price you pay I would expect way more. Room small, outdated. Garbage in elevator all day not cleaned up, garbage by water stand in front of the front desk all over floor not cleaned up. Boardwalk closed entire stay, was looking forward to walking along that. Asked if we could use a microwave to heat up food for our kids, they said no. Booked skidoos we contacted them day before to confirm they were up and running, as they had broke earlier when we booked, they said should be good to go for tomorrow. Called us the next day, sorry still broken. No skidoo for us! Our last day! Really wanted to do this. Now do last min doubtful we will get anything. Came here to celebrate our 15 years and it was not what I hoped for. Would not recommend staying here.
the Property was nice we were allowed to spend time at the pool and spent about $120 on 4 drinks and plate of fries. the bar had some odd restrictions but we were okay with it and the server was great. Our room on the other hand was late after 4 pm and when I got to it the smell of dirty water and vinegar was bad. had to air out the room. we were there for one night and don't recommend as there is an additional $30 fee for all amenities that was told to us at the end. for the amount you spend per night plus the added fees this was not worth it.
Beautiful property! Only bad thing was that our key card would deactivate after every use.
It is nice location, but the beach and pools are poorly maintained. No towels, the beach was covered with seaweed, adult pool looked abandoned with no staff around...
La atención de las personas y el ambiente del lugar
Todo bien
Really nice staff, very clean, beautiful property, great food. Very family friendly.
Good overall stay .Nice place to stay with kids .Definitely recommended.
Had a great stay at the Manteo, bed was very comfortable, roomy room and very accommodating, friendly staff.
Na
Everything from the food, to the views, to the rooms, to the extremely helpful and friendly staff was exceptional! So fun to be able to travel locally and to experience a higher end resort in our own province, so beautiful and wonderful!
We splurged on this hotel and were disappointed. The hallway was in complete shambles with numerous men working just outside our room. It was noisy and strange. The pool was great but it was impossible to find towels. We were also disappointed that the entire boardwalk was closed off. Not worth the price tag.
Ben from the Eldorado was exceptional. His attentiveness and service every morning was a delight. Manteo does not have decafe complimentary coffee. Ben got my husband a decafe complimentary coffee every morning at the Eldorado. Pool side service was top notch. Would absolutely stay here again. Regards, Jodie Moser
Had a suite with a bedroom and 2 bathrooms. The bed was very comfortable and there was a hide a bed for additionals sleeping. Food was good at the Eladrado next door.
The resort is beautiful. So convenient with two different types of restaurants on the property
Bed was comfortable its a beautiful location on the water? The units are run down in need of upgrade they were not stocked to pay this type of money per night to get a kitchen facility with no frying pan, can-opener, spatula to even turn an egg. The unit was not very clean, floors had not been washed, washrooms and not been cleaned wifi service sucks. Staff don't care.
The location and the view and the resort are beautiful, the weather was great too!
No water pressure in the room and lack of hot water. When arriving it was explained to the staff that the room was booked as a gift through booking.com for us, the staff confirmed they had the credit card on file. They still required a credit card for incidentals which I provided and they assured me I would not be charged for anything else. Then when I checked out they charged the room to my credit card despite my explanation I had to go back to the person who had give us the gift and let them know this was not appropriate.
Greta service. It was our anniversary and when we arrived there was dessert (photo) in our room. We had great food, pool time and walks around the property. The boardwalk was closed when we were there which was a number but hopefully it will be back open next year when we go back! Our baby had a blast in the kiddy pool too. Cant wait to stay again.
The property of the hotel was beautiful however our villa was in need of an update.
Nice resort but definitely dated. The furniture needs updating, noted broken furniture in the living area. The pools were nice but also could use some updating. We enjoyed our stay and he kids loved the pools, hours of pool use were also appreciated.
Resort complet en terme d'accommodation. Les gens sont tous très gentils
.
No breakfast
I love the sea view
Top notch hospitality!
Great stay!
Plenty to do. Ideal for our trip from Vancouver to rockies. Would have liked to stop for longer.
Nothing
Property itself had a lot to do
Nice property. Was off season while there so it was quiet.
Absolutely terrible Hotel. Only one elevator for the entire hotel, super slow. Keys never worked the whole time we stayed, balcony basically overlooks a swamp. Most expensive hotel I've ever stayed in for the horrendous condition that the room was in. Litter and fast food wrappers under & behind the couch. Fridge was filthy. And the worst part was, the shower drain immediately back up into the tub, absolutely disgusting!
Went there for a couple days I like to see it is the best. The staff are amazing right next to the water. Great for kids and adult adults of course nice place to relax for a couple of days. Highly recommend.
I got the lake view room with balcony, the view was amazing. I wake up every morning looking at the mountain and lake and the pier, so mesmerizing. The room was so big, it feels nice and spacious. The only thing I didn’t like about the room was the bathroom. It was very small and tight. The sink being out of the bathroom was good. It’s just me, I don’t like small bathroom. Other than that, everything was great!
Stayed in a villa with 5 people, very spacious and the kitchen was great. The living room has patio doors that back into the garden area with a patio table which was lovely. The beds were comfortable and rooms well sized! Staff was very attentive and helpful. Boardwalk was closed unfortunately but still able to use the lakeside seating at the Hotel Eldorado.
Relaxing
Excellent hotel! Great staff! And the lake is beautiful from this resort!
We booked a one bedroom lake view suite. The view was great! The kitchen and bathrooms were decent but the carpet and furniture was very old. The room needs a renovation. Our king bed was very comfortable but the pull out couch for our teenagers was terrible! It felt like you were laying on cardboard and springs. They could not sleep. We complained and the manager when he came back from his days off upgraded us for our remaining nights to a newly renovated 2 bedroom beach front townhouse. It was amazing! As well we were compensated by removing our resort fee and parking. We were very happy with the customer service!
We had such a lovely stay. The villa right at the beach was perfect.
Adult pool was amazing. Right on the lake too. Very clean
.
The restaurant service was very slow. The front desk staff mislead us as to breakfast room location, upstairs across the grounds. The incidentals charge was very high, $250 Canadian.
