The location was fantastic ..walkable to many of the attractions.
Not the hotels fault- I just happened to stay there when the hotel was in the process of major renovations. Otherwise, I will definitely return
We ate at the wonderful steakhouse! The service (Isabella) was off the charts! The food was absolutely on point! Flavorful , balanced and cooked perfectly! The way the server described the food is what made the presentation so enjoyable. This place is a win on your visit!

The location and the history of the place are amazing and cannot be beat! We walked into Old Town and then back to our room midday to beat the heat. Then back out in the evening. Perfect!
The pool. Oddly shallow, which leads to oddly warm, and with a pool liner ?? That was a first for me. And the four dead container palms (no doubt due to the February freeze, but it's July now...... ) The entire pool area was not on a par with the rest of the facility.
The location was excellent. We were so close to everything and within walking distance to great restaurants. We were so intrigued by the amazing art collection throughout the entire hotel almost everything was for sale. Quite the collection! A must for art lovers loved. We enjoyed our evening cocktails with the bartenders and got so much info and history about the Kessler connection it was fascinating.
When checking in the desk recognized that we had been with Bonvoy for many years. With that acknowledgement we usually get just a little extra special treatment for our loyalty. We were assigned a room right next to the gym, and it was tiny. Originally, we booked a king size room but were put in what I thought was a less than desirable room with a double bed. The staff did rectify this, and we were moved to a room with King size bed. So, in the end it was all good. Front desk staff could benefit from better training to recognize and reward longtime customers.
The location could not be better. Loved the old Spanish vibe of the hotel. The pool was beautiful and just the thing to cool off after a hot morning touring around. Loved the fruit infused water in the lobby, did not have a chance to try the bar or restaurant but they looked nice. The room was nice, if not super spacious, and overlooked the pool.
The renovations that were being done weren’t too intrusive, but it did take away a little from the ambience as the elevator was all covered in cardboard to keep it from being damaged. Our room had a faint mildew smell or something we couldn’t quite put our finger on. It was very noticeable upon coming in from the hallway. A mini fridge would’ve been nice as having cold water handy is so important on these hot days. We are so used to having them in most hotel rooms, we were surprised that there wasn’t one.
Hotel is historic and decorated in Spanish Style as per the time period and matching the history of the city. The bed was very comfortable. We slept well. The staff members were very friendly, attentive and helpful. The pool area was nice & relaxing (could be bigger and deeper) . We loved having a Starbucks right downstairs. The hotel was clean and well kept. There is a restaurant in the lobby area but we did not eat there. The prices are a bit too high. We also checked out the Spa and the prices were pretty high there too. Overall it was a great experience. The hotel is currently being renovated and there were some inconveniences due to the construction but the hotel was very accommodating in ensuring we had the best experience. The hotel is located very close to Saint George’s street and walkable to most attractions. The location is great. Additionally they provide a beach bus daily and chairs & umbrellas upon arrival at the beach (these services must be arranged the day before at the front desk).
Hotel seems old and not clean staff was great but hotel needs a lot of work
Anytime we have the opportunity we stay at Casa Monica and have never had a bad experience. Until this time.. On our way home after diving 10 hours we decided to get online & make a reservation. We got to the hotel & went over to the bar while waiting on our room. The bartender was very pleasant & informative on new places in the area. The price for the room was very expensive but we wanted to stop. On the way to the room there was a foul odor like sewer in the hallway (so bad). We get to the room & first thing I notice is the only window in the room is a small window toward the top of the wall. Like a basement room. If it would have said this or showed a picture on the website there is no way I would have paid for this room. Then the noise starts a loud vibration we did not know where it was coming from. I went down stairs & find out the hotel is under renovation & there may be some noise in the rooms. If I would have been aware of this at time of booking I may not have stayed. Then later we go down stairs to the bar and take a seat, there were more people at that time. The bartender from earlier was gone and there were now 3 people behind the bar. We waited and waited all three standing around talking with each other not making drinks, nor bringing menus nothing. Finally, we had enough and left to another bar/restaurant. This was the worse experiences we’ve had at this hotel. We may need to look more at Airbnbs next time.
Location is great. Room is decent if a little tired. We met a very nice bartender.
Reception was cold. More interested in making sure that they charged for everything than welcoming their guest. The hotel is old and tired. We were told on check in "oh BTW you will have no water supply from 11pm to 6am due to maintenance". No concession on price for that and the water didn't restart until 6.50am.
Great location and super friendly staff. Very accommodating to our requests.
They are experiencing some minor improvements but we get that it has to be done to keep the gem in top shape.
This review is for the Cobalt Lounge in this beautiful hotel. We had read about the history of this hotel built by Henry Flagler and decided to have a look around. The lobby and the public rooms are beautiful, with Spanish and Moorish influences. We ordered drinks (cocktails and wine) and light bites. The lobster and shrimp roll was absolutely delicious as was the sandwich ordered by one of us. Service was excellent and prices reasonable. Located across the street from the wonderful Lightner museum, another gorgeous Flagler creation. Highly recommend!
Excellent hotel experience. The staff is the best! The valet parking tunnel brings you to ground level entry. Checking in is fun when you get a complimentary glass of champagne. The food and cocktails were superb. Located in the heart of St. Augustine makes it an ideal location to walk the city and experience the shops, museums and city history.
Beautiful spaces, quiet bedroom with silent AC and lots of space. Izabella's dinner service was stand out - thank you!
Pool is small but its an old building so forgiven!
Everything
We loved our stay! And Gabriel with the PMC Valet team was wonderful!
My sister and I stayed here for the first time and the experience was great! The hotel is located walking distance to downtown. The bridge into town is under construction so we had to take a detour which led us through some very pretty residential neighborhoods. The rooms at the hotel are very clean, beds are comfortable, and breakfast is good. The best thing about this place is the friendly staff. We were greeted by a wonderful young man named Jesse, who parked our car and made us feel very welcome. We were looking for a place for dinner and took his recommendations to eat at the nearby Iceplant restaurant and a taco place for lunch the next day. Both were fantastic. The front desk staff was also very welcoming. I will stay here again.
L’emplacement
Les lits non confortables et les équipements, l’espace piscine n est pas agréable.
Bryce, Gabriel,Lorie- everyone was exceptional, professional, courteous and went the extra mile.
Gabriel, Bryce and everyone else working at the Casa Monica was incredible! What a beautiful hotel and convenient to almost everything. We parked when we got here and then walked for the next 3 days, it was that close to everything. Highly recommend!
Want to say upfront that our massage therapists were fantastic, so this rating is not reflective of them. However, this is definitely not a luxury spa experience and the pricing is hard to justify for what’s offered. The “locker room” is essentially just a bathroom, there are no real spa amenities, and the only additional facility is a standard hotel pool. There was no relaxing or elevated atmosphere at all. The front desk staff also felt cold and inconvenienced by basic questions, which added to the overall disappointment. The massages themselves were good, but overall this felt more like a hotel add-on than an actual spa experience — especially at these prices.
Location, security, and amenities.
The bathroom cleanliness, the beds were not as soft as expected
Location
Furniture in room was uncomfortable
Location
Everything was great.
This place has some nice things going for it. Great location, some aesthetic charm, friendly staff, good food in the restaurant and a quaint bar, and a Starbucks just off the lobby. That being said here are some of the things where it falls short of the Marriott standard you would ordinarily expect. The WI-FI is terrible. The shower is a dribble. The elevator is suspect. The lighting in the bathroom is like trying to shave in a closet. The wait staff in the restaurant, while very friendly, needs to be trained better in efficiency and common sense service. The place needs an update. I suspect that Marriott must certainly know all this but doesn’t spend the money to fix it because there’s no serious competition in this town so they can get away with coasting along as is….which is a shame because while money is certainly not nothing the fact is that your reputation is EVERYTHING.
Trey at the front desk was amazing. I would return just for his great recommendations
The room was old with outdated furniture
Great for a quick get away in town. Greeted at Check in with Champagne flute and Water. booked via Bonvoy, got a nice upgrade to a corner king suite for our stay. Dinner at the Cordova was great. Location is central to all the spots you want to walk to.
location valet parking
leaky shower
The surface in the restaurant was outstanding. The breakfast was phenomenal, and the location was a part we were able to walk to all attractions and what we couldn’t walk to. We did the hard off trolley. The cleanliness of the rooms were perfect, and all the employees went out of their way to make sure we were perfectly satisfied.
He saying, what could you have done better parking more at a reasonable price should be included in the room or the room should be a little cheaper that would be the only reason why I wouldn’t stay at the hotel again
The reception hall is magnificent. Truly magnificent. And the restaurant is very very good. The staff was awesome! Extremely kind, they greeted us with a glass of champagne. we decided to eat in and were very happy we did. Waitress adorable. All in all, great experience but...
The room isn't worth the price. The shower had a curtain instead of a glass door, which alone does not explain 360 dollars per night. Next to this, the lights cannot be turned off from the bed. The lamps are old and need to be switched off like in the 70s from the lamp. And only one side of the bed had the USB plugs. I had to put my phone on the other side of the room and my Apple Watch plugged into the bathroom. The carpet between the bedroom and the bathroom was torn. I believe it is time to update the rooms if you want to keep those prices!
A very well maintained facility. The entire staff were the best. Never have I been treated so well. The Head Chef even came out of the kitchen and sat with us for a few minutes. His food was beyond reproach. They make the best margaritas in the city.
Historic Hotel Excellent Location
Refuse to book into ROOM 411, this would be bad room in any budget hotel chain - But then I paid 287,500 Marriot Bonvoy points PLUS $200.00 per night for 8 nights,(3/14-3-22) you read that right, and I had a heat/air conditioning system that caused so much coughing each morning until after the 3rd night i I just turned it off completely, ripped carpeting about 4"x2 " directly outside the bathroom door about 1 foot into the room, our bathroom sink had a 8"-10" jagged crack directly in the middle of it, the porcelain faucet handles for the same sink were both badly chipped, a toilet height comfortable for use by tall people (NBA) the tufted headboard on the bed had a button ripped out, and looked really shabby, and the room is very narrow and shares a common wall with a poorly insulated interior staircase leading to Room 510 above, and you get lots of attendant noise from those folks coming and going up and down that staircase, finally it's on the very busy road side of the hotel (Business 1) near the area bars with plenty of late night vehicle noise and pedestrian foot traffic until the bars close - the lone positive here, housekeeping was great the entire stay and a really great city I'll return to
Location and staff were perfect. Decor was amazing
Absolutely stunning hotel within walking distance of everything in St Augustine. We loved our 4 day stay here.
There is nothing that I didn’t love about this hotel. However, Booking.com’s description of a premium queen room with a view was not accurate. Room details stated that the room had a kitchenette which it did not. I do not fault the hotel at all for this discrepancy. Booking.com needs to change this.
Had a great time visiting St Augustine. When I arrived, Jake the valet set the tone for a great stay, he’s a huge asset to the team. If you’re visiting Casa Monica, you’ll be in good hands with him.
All the autograph collection of the marriot are below par. Casa Monica is an old hotel with badly need up gradation. The carpets in the room are sticky, the bathroom shower has hardly any pressure and no refrigerator in the room this was the first time for me to see that. Housekeeping was atrocious as they would not even pretend to clean the room with sheets not properly done and forget about vacuuming the room. The nicest and most efficient was the valet service. There is hardly any service in this hotel.
"location," "room," and "parking"
Check in went very smooth thanks to Jesse from key west he was very welcoming and helpful Overall experience at the hotel was a 10/10 Burgers are fire and the atmosphere is great
Enjoyed my time in St Augustine. Jake the valet exceeded expectations on check in. Helped me with my luggage, greeted me with kindness, and gave me amazing recommendations for food and attractions that made my stay excellent and easy. If you are staying at the Casa Monica look for Jake, he will take care of you.
We had a fantastic 4-night stay at the Casa Monica. It’s truly such an impressive and historic property, with amazing decorations and finishings in the lobby. Location could t be better - right in the heart of St. Augustine, and walkable to almost all major downtown attractions, museums, and restaurants. We opted to upgrade to a slightly larger “premium” room and found it very spacious, with a nice large and modern bathroom and very comfortable beds, and a nice view of Flagler College. The pool and fitness center are also both lovely, and there are plenty of loungers by the pool. Restaurant was delicious, with excellent food and service. And the hotel staff couldn’t have been better - everyone we met was so lovely, constantly offering to give us more bottles of water or extra coffee. Special shoutout to Trey, who really went out of his way to make our stay lovely. We overall couldn’t have been happier with our stay at the Casa Monica - it is quite expensive, but we feel it was worth the price tag.
Adorei o hotel
Tivemos um problema com um quarto vizinho e me passaram que devido ao encomodo teríamos uma cobrança a menos na estadia e isso não aconteceu.
Location
Breakfast was slow to arrive . 30mins + Gym was very small .. so small no point using it
Went here for brunch and Bellinis 🥂☀️ so yum! Noah was our valet, he was super kind and the service was great! 😋🚗 Will definitely be coming back here 😎
The valet Mac was absolutely amazing and extremely good looking. I think I will come back just for him.

What a lovely hotel!! We were lucky to travel during the week, so the hotel was not busy. I cannot say enough good things about the front desk staff. From check-in with Tina to check out, they were the friendliest staff at any hotel that I have visited. We were offered champagne at check in which was a nice treat. Also, as a Marriott member we received a voucher for a free appetizer or a dessert. A very nice treat!! We loved our visit to this beautiful hotel and charming city of St. Augustine.
This stay has been extremely disappointing. We were genuinely excited about staying here. The hotel is beautiful and the location is excellent, but the experience has been anything but relaxing. I have never stayed in such a noisy hotel. The room next to ours has children screaming and repeatedly banging against the wall hard enough that our headboard physically moves. Across the hall, adults have been yelling and laughing loudly throughout the day and late into the night. Dogs are barking in the hallways. It has been constant. What makes this even more frustrating is that this property is marketed as one of the best spa resorts in St. Augustine. A spa resort should provide peace and tranquility. Instead, the noise level has made it nearly impossible to rest or relax. We spoke with hotel staff, and they told us they cannot control the noise level of children and are unable to relocate us to a quieter room. That response was very discouraging. When guests are clearly disturbed, there should be some effort made to remedy the situation. To add to the frustration, our internet is not working. We came here expecting a peaceful Valentine’s getaway. Unfortunately, this has been one of the least relaxing hotel stays we’ve experienced.
First stay, but not first time there. Very familiar with this hotel and the area. One night, cost is far above average. Dinner at Cordova. Initial appearance is grand, welcoming staff and beautiful decor. Great service in the bar and restaurant. Our party of 4 all said the same thing, food was good, not great - fairly pricey too. Oddly enough, they keep the dining room extremely dark, we could hardly see each other while talking! Coming off the elevator floor 3, as soon as the door opens, wham! Stale, dirty, mildew carpet. I know this is a very old building, but come on, for this price per night! Clean or change the carpets please. Same in the room and the AC was turned down to 66 when we arrived. They do that to decrease the high levels of moisture in the rooms. It was unbearable and we turned the heat on to 70, maybe even bigger mistake. It took us covering our mouths and eyes for 15 minutes until all the dirt burned off. How does this pass housekeeping inspection? The room appears dated with zero modern items, no nightlight in bathroom, no visible phone charger ports, poor lighting, etc. The bed was a 5 for comfort. Water from the sink smelled like rotten eggs when we turned it on. I was not amused at all and really did not want to sleep there but we did. We are experienced travelers and this room was a huge disappointment. Nothing luxurious about it for sure. Not great for those who suffer with allergies or breathing issues. I get it that it is in the center of town and historical, but I prefer to breathe at night than be convenient to town.
From the Champagne they provide at reception, to the valet's attentiveness to charging the car, everything about the hotel is amazing. It is always perfectly situated for the Christmas Lights
Everything was a great experience!!
The location, AMAZING staff and overall vibe of the hotel. We came to celebrate my daughters 21st and do some ghost hunting. The staff at the hotel couldn’t have been better. They provided champagne at check in, pointed us to recommendations of food and drinks, provided lots of water bottles, mint chocolates at turn down service and the icing on the cake, they send my daughter a birthday card. I will always recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family who visit. Thank you Nadia (please forgive me if I’m misspelling your name) for making her birthday such a memorable one!
Water pressure… everything else was perfect!
Guys parking car very helpful and friendly as was front desk and bar/restaurant
long walk form elevator
Awesome location in the heart of St Augustine. You can walk most places from the resort. Incredible staff from the Front Desk staff to the valet service. Very polite, very professional and friendly.
Nothing.
Location and staff
Valet parking is too expensive. I was charged more than it was showed online when I booked. I did not used a pool or SPA but was charged extras. Room was small and required painting of the walls in the bathroom.
Geeat
Nothing could have been better!
Casa Monica - our 4th trip to St Augustine and our 4th stay at Casa Monica. There’s nothing negative I can possibly say about our experience. Parking is valet but the location is so convenient that you never have to take your car out. Rooms are super clean. Service is top notch. There’s no other place I will ever try to compare cause this place wins. And when you come outside….just check the pics
Staff very gracious
No restaurants close enough for the elderly
We had an unexpected emergency when my mother-in-law fell just outside the property, and the staff at this hotel were incredible. Sam, the head of security, went above and beyond to assist us, providing both medical supplies and calm, reassuring support during a stressful time. His professionalism, kindness, and quick action truly made a difficult situation much easier, and we are so grateful for his help. Sam truly deserves recognition for his service!
Location and Front desk manager
Room was not good, bed’s uncomfortable, bathroom door doesn’t have a lock, bathroom doesn’t have any ventilation, shower had no water pressure..room smelled bad, so did the restaurant. Front desk staff not knowledgeable and providing false information.
Lovely staff and servers. Didn't stay, but great place to pop.into for a drink and a bite, or more. Great bartenders, just overall a lovely place.
La beauté des lieux et l’emplacement
Le service et la qualité de la nourriture du restaurant
We felt relaxed and welcomed from the moment we arrived and throughout the stay. The waiters John and Willie were awesome!

I loved the old time look! The property was clean and kept up. The beds were very comfortable! Being that we were there the day before Christmas it was so busy, but the staff was accommodating and friendly. We were not able to get in for dinner but breakfast was fabulous! We look forward to coming back and having dinner!
It is a little dated, but kept really clean.
Literally everthing. Staff is as good as it gets. Location fantastic
Water pressure in shower is poor.
This hotel is overpriced, dated, noisy and lacks basic hotel amenities for a luxury hotel, i.e., daily room cleaning and nighttime turndown service. With so many hotel options in St. Augustine, there is no need to spend $600 +++ to stay at this hotel. I was really disappointed.
Horrible disgusting hotel with inept management. Our room had the smell of decaying animal. Manager was condescending and not helpful. Room did not have fridge, microwave or extra blankets. He got our reservation mixed up and insisted we needed to check out. It was just a horrible mess at this price point. Do not stay at this filthy hotel.
Es muy hermoso y la ubicación es excelente!
Terrible experience No room service No water or coffee in the room Bad odor in the hallways and the room Is not worth it 500$/ night! Never again!
We love to stay at Casa Monica anytime we're in St. Augustine. The hotel is perfectly situated in the historic district and everything is walkable. The staff is very courteous and helpful. On this particular trip, Nardia at the front desk went above and beyond to assist us. We were so happy to extend our visit by an entire day to have more time to enjoy the seasonal lights . We look forward to our next day already!
Beautiful hotel in perfect location to see the Old City. Very close to great restaurants and attractions!
I didn’t like to pay for the resort fees because I didn’t use the pool or gym
😍👍🏻
This was a grand hotel, located right in the historic district . There was a romantic charm in the hotel design which was inviting. The bedroom suite was spacious and comfortable. The restaurant menu was a little pricey, but delicious.
I was really looking forward to the Thanksgiving buffet at Casa Monica, but it ended up being a huge disappointment. The food was cold, the quality was terrible, and for the price they charge, it was nowhere near worth it. The food servers were inattentive and unprofessional, and the whole experience felt rushed and unorganized. For a hotel and restaurant of this reputation, I expected so much more. Overall, it was an extremely overpriced, poorly executed holiday meal. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend their Thanksgiving buffet to anyone.
It’s beauty, location, stunning decor
Hotel bonito e Bem localizado.
Não havia frigobar no quarto, janelas não abrem,
The staff is wonderful! I feel so badly that I didn’t get the name of the woman that helped us at check in. She was absolutely lovely and so cheerful. I imagine that every guest that interacted with her felt special. It was definitely a treat to be there and each staff member interaction was so warm and welcoming from the valet station to the restaurant to housekeeping. We would definitely stay here again.
We loved the hotel and its location was perfect it was extremely busy. My only complaint is the hotel had way too many dogs! Obviously pets are allowed which I never have an issue with but I’ve never seen so many in such a nice hotel. I would stay again but inquire about this first
