L'endroit est magnifique et reposant sur le hauteurs - un peu en dehors de Sorrento mais aucun problème de se rendre à Sorrento avec la navette. Personnel très accueillant et service impécable.

The staff! They were the sweetest most wonderful people I’ve ever met ! I had a there year old and they made sure he was entertained and fed making him everything he could eat! My son fell in love with them.

The pool was wonderful. The cleaning staff were wonderful. It was my birthday and they found out. Sweetest gesture with a small pasty! It was amazing !!! Most tender people

Best hotel ever

A wonderful stay, we can’t wait to come back! The hotel is beautiful the staff are all so welcoming, helpful and really friendly. The views are incredible and it felt great to be able to step out of the hustle of the centre of Sorrento. Plus they have the shuttle service which takes you frequently to and from and it’s very easy to use (and free!)

I like the view and amenities

our room’s air condition was not cold enough. It was hard to sleep at night.

Hotel lobby area and restaurants are beautiful- the views are unbeatable at any time of day. There doesn’t seem like a better view of sorrento and bay of Naples/vesuvio. We had a corner balcony room and were greeted with a bottle of prosecco. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with large selection, but the automatic coffee machines made terrible cappuccino, which is a shame when it’s in Italy.

Room was very small (we were ok with it since we did not spend much time in room, but it was tight). Compared to our accommodations in Rome and Pompeii, this was the smallest. The bathroom needs renovation- floor, wall and shower tiles were moldy. Shower stall was very moldy. Shower door was broken. Water pressure was terrible .They did not provide shampoo, just soap and conditioner. The pool area was nice, the pool restaurant serves great lunches. There is a bar but we were not allowed in the area if wet from pool. My husband was yelled at because he wanted to buy drinks. They do not capitalize on the tourists- if they had pool bar service they would make a killing. There is a shuttle to downtown which runs hourly but it is always jam packed and the return from town sometimes gets full. The bus driver was pleasant but not from sorrento so he couldn’t even give us directions for how to get to town center. WiFi at hotel was spotty at best. Outlets only work if the main key is inserted by the door. Housekeeping is stingy with towels. Pool towels are thin and cheap and also don’t scream 4 star hotel. Overall, you are paying for the view as the property definitely needs an update and does not seem like a 4Star hotel.

There could be more working USB ports near the beds preferably that stay on while you are out of the room.

The property is beautiful with amazing views of the Sorrento cliffs, sea side and town. The facilities are beautifully appointed, modern and the staff are so very helpful. We dined at the restaurant multiple times and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. The drinks here are also great value. Highly recommended to visit the rooftop bar for a cool evening and the poolside bar through the day.

I have nothing negative to say .

The view was spectacular from our room and the hotel in general. Giuseppe was awesome and our favorite team member at the hotel! He helped books excursions for us and answered a lot of questions.

The hotel was dated and needs some work. It gave old seminary vibes. We were charged for every little thing (no robes to use during stay unless you paid 10€, no iron in room, water, etc). The mosquitoes were so bad we couldn’t enjoy the balcony much. The vegetation is so overgrown it’s a problem. The pool needed updating and the breakfast was probably the worst part of our stay. Honestly it was inedible. Even the coffee was terrible! The hotel has a lovely view and that is the only reason we decided to stay after the first night. The shuttle service was helpful to get up and down the hill, but the earliest if starts is 8:30 and it only comes every hour, not 30 minutes as we had thought. Makes it difficult to plan for unless you are fine paying 35-50€ to a taxi to simply take you up the hill. Overall, this place could be really amazing if they invested some money into upgrading, improved their customer service (most team members made it feel like we were not welcome or wanted there) and if they completely changed their breakfast. Oh, I almost forgot the gym. It was a tiny room with three machines, no weights at all, one sweaty mat in the corner and NO AC, so it was unbearable to even be in. No workout for me and that is NOT a gym. And finally, the pool closes at 7, so don’t plan for a late swim in the heat, or a jacuzzi for your sore bones after walking all day, because that was also non-existent. I saw a jacuzzi on the grass area from our balcony that looked like it hadn’t been used in over a decade, likely attracting mosquitoes. It was very disappointing how unkept the property was for being in a prime travel destination in Italy with a spectacular view.

Da migliorare assolutamente il servizio navetta. È un po' vincolante con gli orari soprattutto l'ultima corsa dal centro di Sorrento all'albergo alle 22:50. Per chi scende in centro per cena vuole dire mangiare tutto in fretta e ritornare subito. Bisognerebbe aggiungere almeno un'altra corsa a mezzanotte...anche perché alle 22:50 la navetta e' strapiena e non è bello seppur per un tragitto breve stare tutti ammassati soprattutto d'estate. Per questo motivo non ci tornerei.

The shuttle bus had no aircon on most journeys. Was over crowded and one of the drivers was unsafe, driving at high speeds Had to keep pool towels for whole stay. Could not eat food by the pool.

A zuhanykabin vízzáró szalagja megviselt volt, úszott a fürdő zuhanyzás után, többször volt áramszünet, addig a szobánkba nem tudtunk bejutni, volt, hogy zuhanyzás közben lett koromsötét, este sokáig volt nagy a zaj, nem lehetett pihenni, plusz a terasz mellett volt valami raktár, ott folyamatosan zúgott valami gép, szóval voltak hiányosságok. Nekem ez nem igazán ért 4*-ot.

The first things we're like the the most is the stunning scenery/View around the hotel for me the best among other hotels around her, good service, delicious food the breakfast was excellent a lot of variety to choose from,they offer lunch and dinner,Dinner was also delicious and affordable as hotel standard price,having a meal beside by terrace is exceptional! and friendly staff..I highly recomend this hotel and diffidently we will visit again..!😍

Our stay at the Grand Hotel President was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. The hotel offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius, making every sunrise and sunset unforgettable. The staff were exceptional—warm, welcoming, and always willing to help. Their hospitality made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and featured a beautiful balcony where we could relax and enjoy the incredible scenery. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, with a wide variety of fresh pastries, fruit, local specialties, and made-to-order coffee. The complimentary shuttle service into the center of Sorrento was extremely convenient and made exploring the town easy without worrying about parking. The pool and outdoor terrace were perfect places to unwind after a day of sightseeing along the Amalfi Coast, Capri, or Pompeii. The peaceful setting away from the crowds, combined with the spectacular views, created the ideal atmosphere for a relaxing vacation. I would highly recommend the Grand Hotel President to anyone visiting Sorrento. We would absolutely stay here again. The Grand Hotel President is well known for its panoramic views, complimentary shuttle to Sorrento, and attentive service, all of which are frequently highlighted by guests.

A vista é extraordinária, não tem como explicar! O hotel foi uma excelente escolha, os funcionários são ótimos, um elogio à parte para o pessoal do restaurante, são extremamente gentis e solícitos. A cama é confortável e o café da manhã delicioso. Eu estava receosa por ser longe do Centro, mas o hotel tem um ônibus de hora em hora que ajuda muito, além de estacionamento.

Na verdade não é que não gostei, mas são pontos de melhoria. Por o hotel ser longe de tudo, esperava mais opções de alimentação fora do horário de café, almoço e jantar. O bar não serve nada além de tostadas e batata, seria ótimo ter outras opções. Teve um dia que perdemos o jantar e não tínhamos outra opção além dessas.

Our room was beautiful and the view was sensational. It was kept very clean and serviced twice daily. Lots of seating so you always got a space at the pool. The shuttle bus was very reliable and worth while. We had a fantastic waiter makes Antonioni that made our stay so nice. He was so welcoming and looked after us during our stay.

Wish they had one option for a low- or medium-price restaurant for dinner- serving pizza, focaccias or similar. Being a 15-20 minute ride from town would be nice to have a couple options for dinner at the resort rather than just one

Waking up to the view was amazing. The breakfast was great. The restaurant staff were fantastic. A great thank you to Luigi . Having the swimming pool was fantastic. The house keeping had a big smile. Loved having dinner looking over Sorrento. We didn’t want to leave.

We have been staying at the Hotel President since 7th July, and sadly our holiday comes to an end on Thursday. 😢 From the moment we arrived, we have been made to feel so welcome. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with elegant décor and attention to detail throughout. Everything is spotless, stylish, and maintained to an exceptionally high standard. A special thank you to the wonderful reception team. Nothing has ever been too much trouble. They helped us book our trips, answered all of our questions with a smile, and even arranged a taxi at very short notice when I urgently needed to get into town. Your kindness and professionalism have been truly appreciated. ❤️ We would also like to say a huge thank you to Adriana, who has looked after our room during our stay. She is such a lovely, friendly lady who always greets us with a smile and keeps our room immaculate. Thank you, Adriana—you are amazing! ❤️ The restaurant is beautifully decorated in fresh green and white, creating a bright and relaxing atmosphere. The food has been delicious, and every member of staff has been outstanding—friendly, attentive, and always working incredibly hard to ensure guests have a wonderful experience. The pool bar is equally impressive, with the same fresh, welcoming atmosphere. It seems that many of the staff rotate between the restaurant and the pool bar, and wherever they are working, they always provide the same exceptional service. The complimentary shuttle bus into town has been a fantastic perk and has made getting around so easy. A special mention to the lovely driver, who now cheerfully says, “See you later!” After me every time we get off the bus. It always makes us smile. 😆 Thank you to everyone at Hotel President for making our holiday so special. We have had a wonderful stay and made some fantastic memories. It was a beautiful property with an amazing view! The staff were incredibly helpful and always went above and beyond whenever we needed assistance. They truly made our stay even more enjoyable.

Staff were all amazing and very professional but kind and friendly. The views were absolutely stunning and the shuttle was easy to figure out and very convenient. Food in restaurant was excellent. Overall prices in hotel were significantly higher than in the town itself but the bar and restaurant were so nice it was worth it for a short break. Disappointed with my stay. This hotel promises exclusive, personalized service. That is not what we experienced. The shuttle was more than 30 minutes late. There were families with children waiting, and some guests had to call a taxi to leave. When I called the hotel for an update, the employee told me, in an extremely rude manner, that it was an outsourced service and not their problem. When I said that was not right, he hung up on me. Back at the hotel, I wrote a formal complaint on my phone and showed it to the employee at the front desk. He refused to read it. I insisted on making my dissatisfaction clear, and he responded with total indifference, as if I were bothering him, repeating that it was an issue with a third-party company. When I asked him if this was the correct way to treat a guest, he did not answer. The next morning at breakfast, I asked not to be seated by the window because of the direct morning sun. The maître d’, again in an extremely rude manner, insisted on seating me there, claiming there was no way to avoid the sun. I had to point out dozens of tables where the sun was not hitting. Once again, during a vacation, a moment that should be relaxing, I had to confront a hotel employee just to have a simple request respected. At check-out, nobody asked how our stay was or showed any interest in improving. The same employee who had treated me rudely the night before was at the desk. On top of that, he charged the wrong bill, and another staff member had to run after me and stop me on the street, which was embarrassing, so I could go back and settle the correct amount. The only positive note: a young employee named Giuseppe listened to my complaints with genuine attention and asked me to send an email to the manager, which I will do. And when leaving the hotel, there is simply no one to help guests with their luggage. My wife and I had to carry four suitcases ourselves, under the sun and up a flight of stairs, without any assistance. What struck me overall is the lack of warmth from the staff. Most employees work with a heavy, unfriendly demeanor, especially at breakfast and at the front desk. I have video recordings of the rude treatment at the front desk that night and of the lack of assistance with the luggage, all of which are being sent to the hotel management by email.

Currently staying at this charming hotel tucked away with super views . Have just had lunch , poolside , and it was refreshing to see the restaurant manager politely ask a young man to leave the restaurant and return only once he had a top on . The lad obliged and all was calm Standards matters … this is a common theme in this special find we have discovered .

Excellent Staff and Service everywhere, amazing view, book a room with view, unforgettable. Big room, lovely food and Staff. You get picked up or dropped for town trips or boat trips, Entertainment for the evening - Loved the stay.

Context: My wife and I stayed at the GHP at the end of June 2026 for 6 nights. We are in our 40s and did not have any children with us. Overall this is a really good hotel and I would definitely go back. There are a couple of caveats to this which I'll discuss below, but as an overall experience we were both really pleased with it. The GHP is sited on a cliff side overlooking the town of Sorrento, the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius on the far side of the bay. The builders wisely put the bar, restaurant and pool on that side of the hotel, which means the views you get are absolutely unreal (see pics). We didn't have a sea view room but that was fine because we could just walk to the other side of the hotel. Having lunch or a cocktail with that view is a huge selling point. We also found that being higher up actually made it a bit cooler, probably because it was away from the traffic, city environment etc. The location does create an issue, namely that it's a bit isolated from the town, but GHP run an hourly shuttle bus into and out of town to get around this. We used this on multiple occasions and found it to be entirely reliable. The journey takes about 10mins and deposits you close to the very centre of Sorrento. The hotel itself could be seen as a bit "old fashioned". Whether you like or dislike this will depend on your perspective. If you like ultra modern, sleek hotels then this probably isn't for you, but we found it quite charming and characterful. Everything appeared well maintained and very clean so it's not tired/dated, there's clearly been a choice to retain a particular aesthetic. Our room was really nice and well air conditioned with a very comfortable bed and plenty of wardrobe and storage space, couldn't fault it at all. Possibly the biggest plus point, aside from the views, is the staff. The whole place seems to be run by about 10 people who all work extremely hard and are superbly professional. All bar, waiting, reception etc staff are fluent in English - the clientele seemed to be a mix of English, Italians, Americans and the odd German - and you can tell that they take pride in what they do. It's remarkable seeing the guy who served you a beer at the poolside suddenly morph into a white jacketed waiter for dinner! You can tell that it's not just a job for them, it's a point of professional pride. On the subject of food, the hotel does have a restaurant and we found this to be very decent when we ate there (we were half board so dinner was included). Being in Italy the wine list is obviously excellent. Generally speaking hotel restaurants can be a bit average but GHPs is pretty good, although you're probably going to want to venture out via the shuttle bus. The main caveat to all this is that if you're with young children then you might want to look at other places. GHP definitely has the feeling of being aimed more at teenagers, adults, couples etc, so your kids might get a bit restless unless you're planning to take them out and about a lot. To summarise, GHP is a really good, well run hotel with lots to recommend it (views, food, comfort, high quality staff). It's probably not ideal for a family of 4 or 5 but for couples etc looking to get away from the buzz of Sorrento whilst still being nearby it's absolutely ideal, especially if you enjoy a bit of "old school" hotel aesthetic.

Soggiorno eccellente al Grand Hotel President. Camera davvero bella, ampia, curata e molto confortevole, con un livello di qualità superiore alle aspettative. Personale gentile e attento, struttura ben organizzata. Esperienza molto piacevole, consigliato.

Building was a little dated but the view made up for it

We had an unplanned 2-night stay at the hotel due to the air traffic controllers strike .... and enjoyed our time. The staff were all most welcoming and professional. The room was spotless and the view from the balcony over Sorrento and the sea was stunning. I was particularly impressed by the (uniformed) bar and restaurant staff who went about things calmly and efficiently like true pros who take pride in doing things well. Would happily return for longer.

The view from the hotel is gorgeous — I could have sat on the veranda or pool deck all day! The staff were professional, polite, attentive, and welcoming. The food was very good. We enjoyed both breakfasts and a couple of dinners there. The beds were relatively comfortable and the other facilities were very good.

The room felt a bit cramped for four people (2 adults and 2 teens), though we managed okay. A cab ride from the hotel to the main square in Sorrento costs between $35–$50 one way when the shuttle bus isn’t running (there’s no walking option). As we discovered, this seems to be about average and often depends on the “tourist tax” the driver applies.

What a treat! the hotel has a superb view, excellent services and even prosecco at breakfast where there is a truly full breakfast with a an egg cook station as well. Perhaps the hidden gem and the best experience of all were the two women at the spa!!! Stephania and her colleague provide the best massage therapists I have ever experienced. they are very adept at their trade and took time to engage my family in a wonderful series of conversations. Hopefully they have a chance to see this review and stay in touch!! They truly elevate an exceptional hotel to an over the top experience my family will treasure for a lifetime. We will definitely be going back!!

From the very first hello to Carla, Giuseppe and Marcella to the last goodbye to Vincenzo and Raffallle,my daughters and I had an amazing stay at the GHP. They along with the rest of the staff made us feel like friends and family. They all went above and beyond. This is the people here at the GHP. Bottom line, you can get stunning views almost anywhere in Sorrento but this hotel with its staff and views well, is an experience not just a stay. The cleanliness, the amenities and all the hotel offers from spa to shuttle service pick up and drop off on the hour, the tour services, the restaurant, the pool, the views…MAGICAL! If you are planning on visiting Sorrento, as we did, keep it your base, you need to stay here…. no, not stay, you need to experience Grand Hotel President you won’t be disappointed! My girlfriend and I stayed here with another couple for 7 nights. Positives:- The hotel is very clean, the rooms are spacious and the pool area is beautiful. (More on the rooms later). The staff around the bars and pool are extremely nice and make the hotel (not so much at reception but please see the negatives). The shuttle is super helpful and leaves on time everyday. The food at the hotel is slightly expensive but good. They noticed it was my birthday and left me a personalised happy birthday note and a bottle of Prosecco which I am extremely grateful for and I think this was very nice of them - thank you. The views you get whilst around the pool or eating are amazing. Before I give the negatives, I do not leave habitual negative reviews, you will see on my account all my reviews are mostly good reviews, so you can trust I’m just being honest. Negatives:- The noise, because of how the hotel is built you can literally hear people walking around their rooms above you or plugging in things into the walls next to you and speaking, moving bags etc. Your experience in this hotel is like a lottery, if you get considerate people above or beside you’ll be fine, we didn’t win this lottery. We had someone extremely loud and inconsiderate above us, stomping around and throwing things on the floor every night for three nights between the times of 11:30pm - 1am. Honestly you could hear every step as they stomped around their room, dragged their suitcases around the rooms and were DRAGGING FURNITURE around at 12am… we could not sleep. We bought this to the attention of the receptionists by calling them. They investigated by going to the floor with me and showing me there was no noise, as they said “ no shouting”… they were not shouting but moving furniture and banging things around which you cannot hear in the hallway but from below … in our room. Sadly, I went to reception twice pleading that they merely ask the occupants to be more considerate. One morning a gentleman at reception who never once smiled during our stay (maybe it’s just the Italian way?) said he would move us rooms. I even showed them a video taken from our room of them banging furniture around at 1am but it never felt like they took our complaint seriously at all…. When I went back to reception another woman was there and barely knew anything about it, bear in mind this is the third day now after two nights of this.. she said “ if it happens again tonight come to reception” …. Back to square one. On our third and last night, they were at it again after coming back probably drunk from sorrento on the last shuttle and disturbed our sleep. I didn’t even bother with reporting it to reception… it was abundantly clear they did not want to do anything about it. I understand a hotel is built a certain way, the staff did not build it, however, after the first three complaints all they had to do was as the people to politely be more considerate at night. I also think it wouldn’t be so bad if the reception staff showed some enthusiasm, even if you aren’t friendly people, put on a smile… you work in hospitality.. we’ve paid thousands to stay at your hotel, the least you can do is pretend to be happy we’re there. I’ve had more smiles and enthusiasm from travel lodge staff. Sorry to say but I won’t be back unless you insulate your walls and cheer your reception staff up a bit, that being said it has the potential to be really good.

The President is a wonderful hotel situated in the hills above and overlooking Sorrento and the Bay of Naples with Mount Vesuvius in the background. Absolutely stunning views. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The choice of breakfasts is extensive and omelettes are made to order. The staff are all well dressed and extremely attentive and helpful. Dinner is as expected from a first class restaurant. The pool is spotlessly clean and has a built in spa at one end. Altogether a very memorable and excellent week at a luxury hotel.

It was a 15 minute drive to center of Sorrento but the provided shuttle bus worked well. No real walkable restaurants. The town piazza was a 5 minute walk from shuttle drop off, though.

Was hoping for a very good hotel, got that and more. Firstly spotlessly clean. Secondly all staff so friendly and helpful. Thirdly pool side bar has excellent views and very good menu. Prices and service good. Mainly thanks to reception staff. Friendly, efficient helpful and conscientious. Especially Carla and Giuseppe who really care. Seats need repair on the hourly shuttle bus but the service itself is so useful and efficient. Only gripe is the noise mentioned in prior reviews. Hours on end of table and chairs being dragged across tiled floors. Very irritating and intrusive but overall the good points more than make up for this. Grand President please sort the noise as otherwise nearly perfect.

A very beautiful hotel, views over sorrento and the bay are beautiful. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pool area clean and lots of spaces to chill and relax. Breakfast had lots of choices, can sit outside from 7:30pm. Prosecco available and also takeaway cup for coffee. Advertised omelette station but never saw manned over the 3 mornings. Pool bar is great, delicious pizzas served. Room was nice and spacious. It is not walkable into town but shuttle is brilliant, a massive coach and we never had any issues getting on. Only area to improve would be to have a full length mirror in the bedroom and kettle really needed descaling. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Beautiful views from the tarrace and swiming pool. The bus provided by the hotel (for free) bring you to the center in 15 minutes. The pool is greate.

Wonderful hotel with exceptional views. Breakfast is buffet style but huge amount of choice and well served. Even got a glass of Prosecco with our breakfast every morning. The pool is lovely with Mt Vesuvius in sight. Dining room with a stunning terrace overlooking the Bay of Naples. Shuttle service into town every hour. Drinks are pricey €8.50 beer, €13/14 cocktail. We only ate at the pool bar and the portions are very generous, we had 1 pizza 2x french fries 1 beer 1 glass of house wine €46 but it’s a high end hotel. We had a room with balcony, very nice room. If the cost of the upgrade to a sea view room is no problem we’d definitely recommend it. Overall a wonderful experience and would highly recommended this hotel.

Incredible location high on the hill overlooking the town of Sorrento. Wonderful meals, great spa, convenient booking for nearby tours. Hourly transportation to town was an added bonus.

The hotel has magnificent views. That’s where it stops!! Too far away from the main town . There is a shuttle service, but traffic can make this a slow journey!Location should be better detailed in your promotional materials!!

The soundproofing is non existent! You can hear people talking in nearby rooms!!The cost of drink is expensive. Had to pay for water in our room!!!The staff at reception were not very helpful at all, and didn’t even have the decency to ask how was our stay, arrogant I’d say!

My daughter and I recently enjoyed the most amazing visit to Sorrento and Grand Hotel President. We couldn’t quite have imagined or hoped that this second visit in consecutive years could be as lovely and possibly even better but so it turned out to be. We were given a room with a beautiful aspect where we often spent time absorbing the stunning vista of Sorrento and watching the world go by. We wish to highlight the professionalism and courtesy of the entire hotel team, beginning with a warm welcome received at Reception, equalled by that of the colleagues who served us a delicious breakfast efficiently and considerately each morning. Those who tended our room did so with care and thoroughness and a ‘shout out’ to the coach drivers who ensured that we got safely to and back from town throughout the day and evening. It is quite a feat manoeuvring the narrow twists and turns but they did so punctually, comfortably and skilfully. We also chose a couple of times to return to the hotel by foot enabling us to linger and enjoy the beautiful evening views of Sorrento and a great way of getting those steps in! Finally we were impressed by the colleagues who worked in the bar - their professionalism and friendliness helped us finish off another perfect day. We can’t recommend this area and in particular Grand Hotel President highly enough, one couldn’t ask for more! Wishing you continued success, you deserve it and hoping we get the opportunity to return in the future.

Great hotel with amazing views. Curtesy bus every hour makes trips to town easy. Food is amazing as are the staff, highly recommended hotel. We opted for cheapest room group and unfortunately ended up opposite the laundry and under the kitchen do had a 6am wake up call every day. If I go back I’ll be choosing a room with a view. Room was very spacious, well appointed and we loved it.
