It is a nice hotel with an incredible view over Sorrento.
Staff is not service minded or friendly. Be prepared for judging looks, no smiles and ignorance towards the customers needs.
Excelente!
Nada, todo Super lindo y cuidado!
Property was beautiful with lovely views
The staff ☹️ apart from the waiters at dinner time And one receptionist, cleaner threw away our large bottles of water and after speaking to receptionist they refused to bring us a bottle of water! Not great service The other staff were very stern not smiling, rude abrupt We left and went on to our next hotel which was in capri, same prices but so different the staff were lovely
I really liked the room, the views, and the swimming pool
The shower had no screen or shower curtain so it was rather messy!!
Great location, just outside the hustle and bustle, with a shuttle to get to/from throughout the day and evening. Hotel itself was beautiful, peaceful, great views all around. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Had both a dinner and lunch there….enjoyed both.
My husband and I are just about to leave this beautiful hotel after a wonderful 3 nights. Location: Great location in our opinion as we like the fact that the hotel is just out of the town, feels like we have the best of both with the complementary shuttle bus into town on the hour (from hotel) and on the half hour (from Sorrento to hotel) - even on a busy time like 7pm the hotel put on additional runs to the town to accommodate more people. The views from all areas of the hotel are amazing. Rooms: We stayed in room 502 and although initially we were keen for a balcony on seeing the room there was two windows spanning the length of the room which gave us incredible views of sunset and we wouldn’t have swapped for a balcony even if it was available! Rooms were comfy and clean, shower no bath but that suits us. Mini fridge with lots of choice - price point was pretty standard for what we have experienced in the past from a room mini bar. I have long hair so the room hair dryer just cut out but I rang reception to see if they had a portable and they arrived within minutes with one for me. We also have late check out for €60 which is super handy given we don’t fly till evening and standard check out is 12. Hotel its self is very clean, bright and never felt busy despite being told on check in that the hotel was full. Thankfully no sunbed wars and you could always get one at various times of the day. Pool guy was super helpful and always tentative. We had breakfast included and if I’m honest the pictures and descriptions I had seen both on the hotels social Media and other reviews in our opinion don’t do it justice, I was expecting a very simple continental breakfast but it was so much more, a selection of hot food - bacon eggs beans sausage and mushrooms. Cakes, pastries and doughnuts that change daily giving variety. Along with cereals juices, toast, ham cheeses, fruit and yogurts. We also dined at the hotel restaurant and the food and service was outstanding I would definitely recommend. We also had a club sandwich from the snack bar one lunchtime after a trip and it was amazing. One thing that stands out in this hotel is the staff and the service they provide it is exceptional. All staff appear happy to help any time of the day. I would definitely recommend staying here, we have throughly enjoyed our time and would absolutely book to stay again.
Lovely hotel with the most gorgeous views over Sorrento, the Bay Of Naples and Mt Vesuvius. The shuttle bus made access into the town really easy. Service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Spotlessly clean. Nice pool and jacuzzi and beautiful view of sorrento. Shuttle bus was very handy.
Double bed is two single beds pushed together which was a little uncomfortable for a couple.
Excellent hotel. The view from the main balcony is stunning. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The standard of the food was excellent. The regular shuttle bus made Sorrento town easily accessible.
Nothing, it was all fantastic
Tudo
Everything was amazing - possibly one of the best if not the best hotel I’ve stayed at in the last 20 years. Staff amazingly professional yet super warm. Pool area and bar have the most stunning view. Food amazing. Facilities really comfortable.
Zero
Great breakfast, pool, and general set up. The view over Sorrento is extraordinary. The bus shuttle service was prompt and made it easy to venture in and out of the central area.
Air conditioning was poor. We set to the lowest but it was still too hot. We had 3 nights of not being able to sleep properly. We had to soak towels and cover ourselves. The hotel is also very petty. Two small bottles of water were provided on the first day only.. We were surprised that it would cost 6 Euro a day for a kettle to make our own coffee and tea, and that prices for small soft drinks were 7 Euro.
My wife and I returned to Sorrento and the Grand Hotel Aminta on our 10 year wedding anniversary to show our two daughters where we got married and honeymooned. The hotel, the staff, the service was just as great, if not better, as our prior stay. The hotel looked liked it had been recently updated and the room was amazing with a breathtaking view of the bay of Naples and Vesuvius in the background. The food was so good that my kids did not want to leave the hotel. Breakfast was a must, then to the pool, then lunch outside by the pool and then back to the pool was their perfect day. All that being said, it was the little things that we will remember that made the trip stand out. For example, the maid staff arranging my daughters stuffed animals in a different way every time they cleaned the room or the bar staff making them special drinks, one of them even made them ballon animals one afternoon, this made their day. It’s not easy to find a great hotel with all the amenities that the Grand Hotel Aminta offers, but it’s the little things that they do that goes above and beyond that will keep us coming back whenever we can.
Everything
Everything was great
We had a wonderful stay at Grand Hotel Aminta. Everything was excellent from start to finish — the hotel is beautiful, the views are incredible, and the staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and very clean, and the entire property was well maintained. Breakfast was great, and we really appreciated the overall atmosphere of the hotel. It felt relaxing and peaceful while still being convenient for exploring Sorrento and the surrounding area. One of the highlights was definitely the service. Everyone we interacted with made us feel taken care of and helped make the stay easy and enjoyable. We would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend Grand Hotel Aminta to anyone visiting Sorrento.
We had a great stay in Grand Aminta! We stayed for 5 nights. The location is up a hill but the hotel do offer a free shuttle bus every hour, sometimes it can come a bit earlier than it says so we always ensured we were there 15 minutes before to make sure we got a seat and not miss it (as sometimes it can be busy especially the 10:30pm bus). To get on the bus, you have to cross the road at the hotel, which is very dangerous, but it appears to be the same for other hotels in the area too! A zebra crossing would be good! The pool area was very nice, and the man working at the pool was very good! He would lay our towels out for us and was always very pleasant to speak to. The hotel has a jacuzzi adult-only area, which is very nice. To enhance the area they could have sun-loungers at this area to sunbathe rather than just chairs. Our room was very spacious, some parts of our room were a little bit tired. We got upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi bath, but we did not use it as there was a lot of dirty grout around the edges making it unappealing. We had a garden balcony room, but there was a storm on one of the days, and the balcony was dirty from then to the end of our stay so we never went out in it. Breakfast was included which was good with a good selection of pastries and fruit and some hot food. Coffee was good at breakfast and the staff were very good. We ate lunch at the hotel twice, we had a Caesar salad and pizza on one day, they were not great, the Caesar lettuce and tomatoes were room temperature and as it had been very hot, it would have been good if they were refrigerated. The pizza was just ok also. The second time we had pasta, they were much better, although my husband got carbonara and it was very salty. I would say drinks were on the pricey side with an Aperol spritz setting you back €15 and a regular draft beer being €10 and a soda drink such as a Fanta being €7. Overall, I would stay here again, the staff are very good and the views are stunning!
TBH, I was a little worried about staying outside of downtown Sorrento, but I'm SO glad we did. Hotel Aminta provides free shuttles to town and back, so distance was no problem for getting there and it was only a 10-15 minute ride. And its views are fantastic from up the hill are fantastic! First, I have to say, the front-desk staff here was amazing. Rosalee, in particular, was incredibly helpful with all our travel plans, she is a star in our book! The hotel itself is very comfortable with a great swimming pool and fantastic views of Sorrento harbor from the beautiful terrace overlooking town, where you can order a cool drink after a swim or enjoy the hot tub as the sun sets. The complimentary breakfasts each morning were delicious, everything you could want and more. There do appear to be quite a few Brits and perhaps Canadians and Aussies here as well, and some of the food choices reflect that (beans for breakfast) but it's all well-prepared and very tasty. The dessert choices alone made it worth it. (My only complaint is that I'd love the coffee cups to be about three times the size they are!) The servers were all top-notch, helpful and professional, the food was good, and the entire facility is pleasing and easy to navigate. (Our companions, who were in an adjacent annex building, said they were bothered by a barking dog at a nearby property, but we were in the main building and had no issues with noise.) Our beds were comfy and the water pressure and temperature in the bath was good. We stayed three nights here before moving on to the Amalfi Coast and, honestly, I would have liked to have stayed longer. We were able to conveniently take day trips to Capri and Pompeii from Sorrento, which is centrally located. I would have liked to spend more time exploring Sorrento. Overall, I would definitely stay at Hotel Aminta on a return trip to Sorrento and will recommend it to my friends. Kudos to the great staff and management at this hotel -- you're doing a great job! Grazie!!
Our third stay at this fabulous hotel. We love everything about this hotel, the views, the staff, the food. All of the staff are so friendly and so welcoming to our two boys. The pool is heated so it’s a perfect temperature, our kids love it. We can’t wait to return again!
Lovely hotel with very friendly and welcoming staff. Went the extra mile to make your holiday that extra bit special.
If I had to be picky a little more going on in the hotel in the evening.
First time in Sorrento (and it won’t be our last!) The hotel, view, staff & food was all amazing. Shuttle to/from town was so convenient. Perfect location to explore surrounding areas; Naples, Capri & Positano. Don’t skip the Bolognese, Aperol spritz or local Janare wine!!
We loved the location and proximity to the town of sorrento. The staff were super friendly and very accommodating to questions and advice. Loved our stay!
The only negative would be that the shuttle bus seemed a bit over capacitated most of the time where at some points we couldn’t physically get on. We understand that most guest want to use this transport to get to and from town but maybe for peak times if another bus could be used to reduce the strain that would help.
The Grand Hotel Aminta is a fabulous hotel. It offers the lot. Amazing views, great rooms (beds are really comfortable), great value for money and the most wonderful staff that do everything to ensure that you are totally looked after. The service they provide is second to none.
The hotel was really good value in terms of the rooms (comfortable and blocked out any noise well), reception service (helped with anll questions we had) and facilities (Pool and shuttle bus). The food was the only part of our stay that was below par for us. Breakfast was good however the options and quality for lunch and dinner could have been more and of a higher quality.
From start to finish I can only describe our first experience of Aminta as magical. We arrived on a very warm August afternoon and were immediately welcomed by friendly staff and shown to our beautiful room. Air conditioning was spot on and adjustable. Breakfast included was delicious and so much variety each day, with coffee of your choice. The location is stunning with beautiful views of Sorrento coastline and Versuvius from the outside dining area and our balcony, the hotel is just out of the busy hubbub of town. It was an added bonus having a free shuttle bus which ran smoothly and never let us down for evening trips to dinner. All staff were kind, approachable and so attentive. We are so grateful to everyone at Grand Hotel Aminta and we can’t wait to return!
Was a great place to stay, loved that you had a free shuttle service to get to and from the town centre.
There was nothing that I didn't like
What an amazing hotel. From start to finish every single member of staff we encountered could not do enough for us. Housekeeping do a great job as the hotel was spotless. The food was great and as a coeliac, I had so many choices. The setting was stunning and the sunsets were beautiful. We did make use of the shuttle bus, not too bad a walk into the centre but didn’t tackle it coming back. Hopefully we will be back soon. Sincere thanks to everyone.
This hotel exceeded our expectations. It is absolutely breathtaking and the views are stunning. The staff is extremely attentive and it felt like a 5 star resort.
If you are staying in the back villa, the walk is quite long so I recommend paying more for a room in the main hotel if you are disabled in anyway.
Everything, particularly the gluten free breakfast basket :)
Beautiful hotel, clean and comfortable. We found all of the staff that we encountered to be very friendly and helpful. The free shuttlebus runs well and is essential to get down into the centre if you don’t have your own transport. Room was clean with beautiful views across the coast and the bed was comfortable, we slept very well. A good selection of fresh food at breakfast was provided every day. We had a lovely time staying there.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay from start to finish. The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff were incredibly attentive and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. A special mention goes to the waiters, who were second to none – always friendly, professional, and providing exceptional service with a smile. The views were simply stunning and made our stay even more memorable. Every part of our experience felt relaxing and special, thanks to the genuine care and hospitality of everyone at the hotel. Thank you to the entire team for making our holiday so enjoyable. We will definitely be back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a fantastic stay.
The Grand Hotel Aminta sure lived up to the name! Was an absolutely amazing resort with world class service from all the staff. My family and I felt so welcomed and everyone was so kind from the front desk representatives, wait staff and bartenders. The room was immaculate and all the amenities were perfect! We felt so at home and I would absolutely recommend this hotel!
Het uitzicht
Hygiene jacuzzi buiten. Kamer was niet zo netjes
We have stayed at the Grand Aminta Hotel, many, many times and we would say that in June 2026, the hotel was looking it’s best. The weather was perfect; but also major changes had been made, for example the new, stylish, Bar Ninfa in the pool area. However what brings us back time and time agamin, is the impeccable service, delivered with professionalism and friendliness throughout: Reception, Bars, Restaurant and Pool. The food is varied, all of high quality, complemented by an extensive wine list, for which there is knowlegeble advice always available. Finally the location of the Aminta, with it’s spectacular views, means that it is an oasis of calm, even if only a short distance from Sorrento.
We stayed as a family for 9 days here and loved it! The hotel was up in the hills, overlooking the Bay of Naples. This was a plus. The views were incredible and the daily shuttle service brought us right to the heart of city whenever we wanted to get the Sorrento experience. The staff was exceptional and delivered such friendly service. We had dinner at their restaurant quite a few nights there ( and cocktails) and it never disappointed. Rooms were very clean and so was the pool area. We would definitely return!
We have just returned from another incredible week at this hotel. This was our second time staying here and it was just as amazing as we all remembered. The food was exceptional as always - outstanding dinners (we were on half board) and very yummy lunches on the terrace overlooking the bay, the view is a key highlight as the sunsets here are unbeatable! We would thoroughly recommend this hotel, it is the perfect distance away from the busy centre of Sorrento allowing a very relaxing week, but the shuttle bus every hour made it quick and easy to pop into town for some true Italian style shopping! The friendly welcoming service at this hotel js outstanding and we will definitely be going back for a third stay!
Unbelievable views, the location is amazing. Staff were fantastic nothing was too much. Nice breakfast.
Pool bar prices are high. The 1 hour booking time slots for the gym makes going quite difficult and the shuttle to and from sorrento is very convenient but in the high season it gets very full and only runs once an hour and if its full you have to wait another hour for the next one. The bus needs to be bigger.
I loved the location and the beautiful views from our room facing the sea and volcano.. had to pay extra but loved it
Stayed here for three nights and the last day our room wasn’t cleaned until four o’clock in the afternoon
The staff were amazing! Went over and beyond for us. We were there 4th of July and breakfast had little American flags. There were pancakes. Great cappucino! Great food. Amazing facilities. Nice bar.
Gym needed to be scheduled. Often the shuttle to Marina Piccolo can be late or overfull. A bit of a trek to the Marina Piccolo (15 minutes going there and 10 minutes back). Shuttle also does not run during lunch time.
Great views across the bay of Naples. Staff were so friendly. Hotel is very stylish and clean
There was nothing to dislike
Beautiful hotel on a hillside setting overlooking Sorrento and the bay of Naples. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive and helpful especially with my coeliac daughter. The hotel bus was great and it was relatively easy to plan days out around the timetable.
The views, staff, food, excellent room
There are simply not enough words to express our deepest appreciation to the entire team at Grand Hotel Aminta for your exceptional kindness, outstanding service, and genuine hospitality throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived until our departure, every member of the staff made us feel welcomed, cared for, and truly at home. If we are fortunate enough to return to Sorrento, there is no doubt that we will stay with you again. Until then, we will enthusiastically recommend Grand Hotel Aminta to our family, friends, and anyone planning a visit to this beautiful part of Italy. A very special thank you goes to Rosella at the front desk. She is an absolute gem and one of the greatest treasures of this hotel. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine desire to help made all the difference. She went above and beyond by arranging transportation, recommending the best tours, and providing wonderful guidance on how to explore the area. Her kindness made our vacation even more memorable. The restaurant team also deserves the highest praise. The breakfast experience was truly five-star every single morning. The delicious selection, impeccable service, and the friendly smiles from every server made each breakfast a wonderful way to begin our day. Every member of the dining staff treated us with such care and professionalism. Grand Hotel Aminta is more than just a beautiful hotel with breathtaking views—it is the incredible people who work here that make it truly unforgettable. You have left a lasting place in our hearts, and we will cherish the memories of our stay for years to come. Thank you for making our family vacation so special. We hope to see you again in the future. With heartfelt gratitude, The Santos Family
My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here. The views from our balcony were insane and we loved having the shuttle bus service that went into town every hour. We enjoyed drinks by the wonderful pool and jacuzzi. Staff were very helpful and friendly and we loved the breakfast every morning, especially the coffee and croissants!
Wonderful experience, friendly and helpful staff, stunning views and shuttle to and from city center. Enjoyed our stay very much and beileve the best option to choose while staying in Sorrento, makes the experience even better.
The view is amazing, but the staff was far from that. Our flight got changed in the middle of the night, and when we tried booking a cab through the front desk, they made us pay for both the new cab and the one scheduled for the original time. By the time the new cab arrived, we had no chance of making our flight. They blamed the cab service but never told us there was a refund available. This hotel felt like a retirement-home cruise ship on land. The breakfast was terrible, and the first room we were given didn’t even have a window. I would rather stay at a Motel 6 in the United States.
This was one of the best hotel stays we have ever had. We had a garden room on the first floor, which was quiet but also very close to the pool. View was of the mountainside behind the resort---gorgeous. Communication prior to check in was quick and easy, the front desk staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome (Grazie, Rosella!) Breakfast was delicious! There were hot options daily along with pastries, yogurts and a variety of other foods. Coffee was made fresh however you liked and they offered to go cups with a fresh macchiato or cappuccino if you liked. We felt pampered and taken care of our whole stay and we were sad to say goodbye to such a beautiful resort but more so the kind staff. Ernesto and Denis greeted us by name every time we saw them and knew our coffee order by memory by the end of the trip. Best customer care I've received worldwide. If you can---stay for dinner! The restaurant was my husband's favorite meal of our time in Italy.
Restaurant, bar, zwembad
Mss een te klein bad/douche
We liked the amazing view and reckon it’s the best hotel positioning above Sorrento, because it’s out of town it’s lovely and quiet so you get the best of everything plus a free shuttle service taking you in and out. Also the hotel offer a booklet of excursions and everyone booked them so you are picked up at the hotel it was excellent and made everything so easy. The hotel also organised a transfer taxi to and from Naples it cost €140 but taxis are very expensive in this region
Limited facilities in the room, Only free water in the room the first day then had to buy from mini bar, only had 2 coffee and tea sachets in the room each day, we could of asked for more but kept forgetting. It didn’t alter our rating but could be improved for the class of hotel
One friendly lady who checked us in on the arrival evening. Great free shuttle bus, nice view and lovely pool. Good breakfast & dining room staff. The pool attendant was great!
The room was smaller than expected, had a view of a flat roof. The small balcony had two chairs and a table which were all cable-tied to the railings so couldn't be moved! There was no kettle in our room.....unheard of in a 4 star hotel in our experience! We were told if we wanted a kettle with tea/coffee it was for an extra charge, per night! I asked if I could please have some hair conditioner as there was none with the shampoo and was given a flat NO, by reception. Our double room was apparently an upgrade! It was not well maintained, the shower head was mounted so high the water sprayed over the top of the screen and soaked the bathroom. The desk staff were abrupt and unhelpful.....the staff at the pool bar were not particularly friendly towards us when asking about drinks.
Location was just a little too far out of Sorrento. Our room was pretty average. The bathroom was tired and in need of some tlc / maintenance with average toiletries not what you expect from a 4 star. The bar, pool and restaurant areas were lovely, clean and well maintained with friendly staff that were extremely helpful and welcoming. Unfortunately there were a couple of reception staff that let this down as two ladies in particular were quite rude and not very welcoming at all. Overall just not quite what you what you expect from a hotel of this price range.
Just back from an amazing stay at the Grand Hotel Aminta, all the staff were very friendly and attentive, the room was spotless, and the food was great (we were half board). The shuttle bus into town was very handy, we used it every day. No entertainment on in the evening, but a great hotel, I hope to return.
View from room and seating areas was incredible. Pool attendant was very attentive and worked with a smile.
Dinner menu could have accommodated some lighter options although all food was excellent. Bus shuttle service on return is a bonus but needed. Busy on return could be stressful.
Just returned from 10 days in this fantastic hotel, want to say a huge thank you to Jean Franco and all his team for their patience and understanding. The wonderful reception staff, restaurant staff especially because they catered for my allergy, I was made to feel very special, the chefs who made special dishes just for me, all the bar staff and waiters, don't want to name specific individuals in any area of the service as they were all amazing, courteous and kind and extremely professional, I did have my favourites though! , not forgetting the cleaning staff and the lovely man at the pool area I've not received service like this before when I've holidayed, also the free courtesy bus service into Sorrento town was brilliant. Lovely views lovely pool, fabulous food, fabulous hotel fabulous holiday.
The hotel is well positioned just up the hillside overlooking Sorrento, displaying lovely panoramic views across the bay. There is a shuttle bus into town (and back) which is really helpful, as the taxi fares into town are around the 35 euro mark each way (even though it is just 3.5-4km away). The pool is lovely and poolside is clean and tidy all the time. Staff are very friendly and helpful and can help book you a taxi to get to tour pickup points outside of the shuttle bus times if needed. Rooms are clean, basic, but have tea/coffee facilities and TV. The breakfast is plentiful and a mixture of cooked and pastries and cold meats/cheeses etc. The only real niggle is the price of the drinks and also additional meals. Eg approx 10 euro per 2 drinks higher than the equivalents in town.
Fantastic in all respects. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Pool area is great with no experience of sunbed hogging. People left their beds and disposed of towels when they had finished. Breakfast was excellent with fantastic choice of sweet and savoury. Dinner was superb and delicious with 4 courses if you wanted them. Starter, pasta , meat and dessert. Try the ones from the trolley! Room bright, spacious, comfortable and very clean. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. Shuttle buses (free) solve the problem of being out of town.
We have just returned from another wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel Aminta, and after 12 visits since first discovering this special place 24 years ago, we can honestly say it remains our favourite destination. We wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else. Our connection with the hotel is a particularly personal one. We were married in Sorrento in 2006 and held our wedding reception at the Aninta, making it a place filled with treasured memories for us. Returning here always feels like coming home. What makes this hotel so special is the people. Every single member of staff is outstanding – from the waiters and bar staff to the pool attendant, cleaners, front desk team and courtesy bus drivers. Everyone greets you with a smile, asks how you’re doing, and genuinely wants to make your stay perfect. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and they simply can’t do enough for you. The fact that many of the same staff members are still there after all these years speaks volumes. Being welcomed back by familiar faces feels like returning to see old friends rather than checking into a hotel. The setting is absolutely breathtaking. The views are spectacular, and the beauty of the surrounding area never fails to amaze us. We stayed in the villa Aminta which is set apart from the main hotel. Our room was luxurious with a private balcony overlooking lemon trees and with beautiful sea views. The 2 minute walk to the pool and main hotel through fragrant orange and lemon trees is a magical experience in itself. The walk down into Sorrento takes around 15 minutes and offers stunning views every step of the way, while the regular courtesy bus service makes getting in and out of town effortless. The hotel is impeccably maintained. Everywhere is spotless, and the attention to cleanliness is second to none. The food is consistently excellent, with a fantastic choice of dishes and outstanding quality throughout our stay. The Aminta Special cocktail remains a firm favourite and is an absolute must-try. The pool area is another highlight. The heated swimming pool is wonderful, and the separate jacuzzi area, with its incredible views towards Capri, is the perfect place to relax and soak up the scenery. This visit was particularly meaningful as we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We were touched to find beautiful flowers waiting for us on arrival – a thoughtful gesture that perfectly reflects the warmth and care shown by this family-owned hotel. The Aminta continues to set the standard for hospitality. Exceptional staff, stunning surroundings, immaculate facilities, delicious food and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere make every stay unforgettable. After 24 years of wonderful memories, including our wedding reception and now our 20th anniversary celebration, we can say without hesitation that this is a truly special place. We are already looking forward to visit number 13. Highly recommended.
Just back from a very enjoyable 11 night stay at the Grand Hotel Aminta. We stayed in a "Superior room with Balcony and Sunrise Sea View". The room was spotlessly clean with one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. It was also well equipped, but minor negatives were that the balcony is quite small, and not particularly private, plus the shower cubicle had no screen or curtain. Turning to the hotel overall, the location is fantastic with a stunning panoramic view from the Island of Capri past Naples and Mount Vesuvius to the Sorrento Peninsula towns - wow ! The quality of the breakfast, lunch and bar snacks was first class with service to match. The dining room and poolside bar area are also very classily decorated. All of the hotel staff are most helpful and polite, including the poolside attendant who delivers towels and helps set up loungers and umbrellas. During our stay, the poolside areas and the (heated) pool itself were never that busy. The shuttle bus to and from Sorrento town centre is very useful and reliable, although we did occasionally walk into town which takes 15-20 minutes down narrow paths and steps (avoiding the main road with it's manic drivers). Overall, we had a fantastic stay at the Grand Hotel Aminta and highly recommend this hotel. Note, however, that the prices of drinks is relatively high compared to bars and restaurants in town. But in our opinion, worth every cent for that view alone.
After arriving to a disappointing experience my wife posted on trip advisor, since then all issues were corrected very quickly and we have nothing but admiration for the staff and general manager who met with us privately, we were offered a room change which we declined but it was very much appreciated, the staff in both the reception and the bar and restaurant have been amazing and have gone out of their way make us happy, the food also is fabulous
The property was beautiful! Excellent staff, dining was great!
Not in walking distance to city center but there is a hotel shuttle to town or taxi is an option
Well first impressions really poor, been so looking forward to this stay our first ever time in Italy and very disappointed up to now, upon arrival greeted and given sufficient info, room booked, a superior with sea view, view fab, but small and dated insufficient hangers which were delivered upon request but were dusty and dirty so had to be given back to be cleaned and returned, safe didn't work and had to be replaced, very little in the way of plug sockets and room could have been cleaner with the toilet brush leaking on the floor, not good, however after complaining these things were corrected but this has after an awful long drawn out experience in Naples airport, left us tired cross and we just wanted to be given a lovely room without any issues, that didn't happen. Hoping after our evening meal tonight and a hopefully a good night's sleep things will seem better tomorrow 🤞
Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt!
The view was phenomenal. The staff were helpful and accommodating. It was clean, and comfortable.
The shuttle was too restrictive in how often it took you to town. Skips several hours in the afternoon and we had to wait hours or rearrange our schedules to get on the shuttle. The option was to pay $35 dollars every time we took a cab, which we had to do a couple of times. The breakfast was ok, scrambled eggs, and some fresh fruit, pastries, same things daily. The wait staff for breakfast were very nice. The pool hours were too restrictive, could not swim after 7pm for some reason, but the pool was heated and wonderful.
Let me start by saying the staff is AMAZING! So helpful and attentive. Give Raffaella and Lauren a raise! Rossella and Victoria as well! Always greeting you with a smile and asking how your day or evening was. We wanted to do a private cooking class, and immediately set up the best place for us. Transportation is provided to the main square and runs for early morning until 11:00PM. Breakfast is included in your stay. So many varieties of danish, breads, fruits, cereals, eggs with meats and cheeses just to name some of the selections. The pool is divine. Plenty of seating and waiter service for cold drinks. The dinner menu is a nice change from having to actually leave the hotel. Food and service were good. We only had dinner there one evening. Rooms are small, but could have been the type we choose. It was fine for us. I never found the need to spend a lot of money on hotel rooms, when we are barely in our room other than to sleep. The bed was comfortable and housecleaning did a great job each day making sure the room was fresh and clean when we returned. Needless to say ........WE WILL BE BACK!
Excellent hotel, the staff are wonderful and the food in the restaurant is excellent. Breakfast is amazing with lots of choice of hot and cold options served with any hot drinks you like, cappuccino, selection of teas etc. We had à la carte dinner in the restaurant on 2 out of 5 nights, the seabass puttanesca and lemon tart are a must!
Beautiful setting off the beaten track but free shuttle bus takes you right to the centre of Sorrento. Perfectly clean and all staff are kind, friendly and ensure your needs are met at all times. Sit out on the terrace for a wonderful view of Mount Vesuvius across the Bay of Naples. Well stocked fridge in our bedroom which was spacious. Lovely bathroom. Only recommendation would be to provide tea/coffee making facilities in bedroom.
Very nice pool area and great views. The restaurant and service at the restaurant were outstanding. The place is bright and airy. Friendly responsive staff throughout. Solid shuttle service.
Control of A/C. Pool too warm to be refreshing. Relatively pricy considering it’s not in a central location. Parking is available but doesn’t seem to be plentiful.
The hotel is large and spacious, has a great deck and swimming pool area with a partial view of the Vesuvius. It’s located about 20 minutes away from the historic centre, and they provide a free shuttle every hour. There is limited parking available. Their restaurant is outstanding, with a large menu, white tablecloth and excellent service. Whole some individual staff members were very friendly, overall the hotel service itself feels a bit impersonal. No one greets you upon arrival and you have to carry your own suitcases up steep steps.
The rooms were lovely. The staff were very helpful and always ready to help and assist.
The warm swimming pool No ramp to come in and out of the hotel.
Super recomendo.
Gostamos de tudo.
We stayed at the lovely Grand Hotel Aminta for one week in May, on a half board basis via Jet2. Our room was a Superior Sunset view with balcony & as it was the end room (220) benefitted from a view of Capri & Vesuvius; absolutely stunning. The room itself was well equipped with plenty of hanging space & drawers, a safe, mini bar, kettle & comfortable bed. The bathroom contained a jacuzzi, which never seemed to work & which we didn't report & as we used the over bath shower didn't bother us too much. However, the bathroom would certainly benefit from a window blind, as we did feel rather exposed when showering ! The food & service in the restaurant were both of the highest standard & there was always an excellent choice for carnivores, pescatarians & vegetarians. There was also an extensive wine selection, with half bottles available & a perfectly drinkable full bottle of both white & red for €32. One night we celebrated my partners birthday & enjoyed the al a carte menu at a discounted rate & the hotel were kind enough to supply a small cake for the occasion. The bar service was once again exemplary, with an endless selection of beers, wines, spirits & cocktails, as well as hot drinks. The prices were slightly high, however this is Italy & in a high class hotel. The reception staff were all very helpful, as was absolutely every other member of staff that we encountered.....far too many to mention individually. However, having said that, I will mention Vittoria who, prior to our arrival, arranged a beautiful bouquet of flowers for my partners birthday & the cake at dinner. The complimentary hotel shuttle bus ran every hour on the hour into Sorrento & returned every half past the hour. We used this several times & only encountered one problem upon returning on the 3.30pm bus, which was obviously over subsribed & upon letting my partner get on the bus before me, about 4 elderly "ladies" decided to push in front of me also (one day I'll learn that old school manners no longer appear very relevant). We also walked i to Sorrento a couple of times & it's an easy & pleasant half hour walk all downhill. Not too much else to say really, except that the positives of the Hotel Aminta far outweigh the negatives (a couple of which I've already mentioned) but one that I haven't is the dress code for dinner, which didn't seem to be very well managed. Surely it's not asking too much for men to wear a pair of long trousers & leave their baseball caps in the bedroom ? Is it just me or are standards slipping generally ? All in all, a fantastic weeks stay in a beautiful hotel, managed by lovely helpful people in a wonderful setting. I don't think you'll regret staying there.
great staff!!! wonderful installations, the free shuttle from hotel to city center works very well. I stayed at the anexx which is also perfect.,,
Rien
Last week my parents and I enjoyed our third holiday at the Grand Hotel Aminta and yet again the hotel and staff exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed warmly by Lauren and Rossela and the friendliness of the staff continued throughout all areas of the total. A special thank you to Ernesto, Ferdinando, Pietro and the gentleman in the restaurant who always remembered our breakfast drinks order (Giancarlo?) and to Francesco and Raffaele in the bar, whom my Dad befriended over their shared love of football. We were particularly impressed with the overall cleanliness of the hotel and the attention to detail, which made for a relaxing and memorable holiday. Thank you to all staff who made this happen. We really can’t recommend the hotel highly enough and will definitely return. Natalie, Carol & Martin
The property was at an excellent location with beautiful views of Mt Vesuvius and the coast as highlights. The pool and jacuzzi were warm and lovely. We especially appreciated the convenient shuttle.
I can’t think of anything.
The food was amazing!
Everything was exceptional
Nothing at all
La vue , la piscine, le restaurant
We’ve just returned from a week at this stunning hotel, where we stayed in the annex with a sea view and it’s easily the best hotel we’ve ever experienced. The view from our room was breathtaking, and just below us was a garden of lemon trees that filled the air with a wonderful scent. The entire hotel was impeccably maintained, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. We had an early check out, and to our surprise they prepared a takeaway breakfast of pastries and fruit for us, such a thoughtful touch. Although we only dined in the restaurant for breakfast, the food was always fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The hotel itself was peaceful and relaxing, we especially enjoyed spending time by the pool where even towels were provided. The panoramic views over the sea were among the best we’ve ever seen, and the regular shuttle service into the centre was extremely convenient running nearly every hour. Thank you for such a memorable stay, we wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else when we return.
Danke!
The location is perfect if you want a place a bit outside of town and up on the mountain with incredible views. Just take a 10-15 minute cab ride into the city when you want to walk around and enjoy all that is available there. Nice sized rooms, very clean and comfortable. The waitstaff was particularly friendly and accommodating.
Ambiente e i servizi che offriva l'hotel.
Lovely facilities and great breakfast. Great views.
Having to time the shuttle bus bit the wall into town was fine
A vista.
The location and staff was perfect but the hotel does have to improve their WiFi service it did not work good in the room. We definitely enjoyed our stay from beginning to end. Prego
