We loved the location, it was a pleasant walk to downtown while feeling mostly quiet and giving a great view. The pool area was an amazing area to relax and enjoy the view. Everything was clean and the staff were all very considerate and helpful. The dining areas were also great to enjoy the view.

Not even a negative but just noting to definitely take a taxi from the train station, don’t try to walk with luggage! The price felt slightly high but overall we were still very happy with our stay.

I’ve never before stayed in a €550 per night 4* ‘superior’ hotel room that managed to depress us every time we returned to the room. Our basic ‘ground floor’ double-room had zero direct natural light, being almost subterranean, with only a dull haze of light at midday (despite being high summer w crystal blue skies outside) and was more akin to a grotto or cave. We spent as little time as possible in it, which is crazy of a hotel of this supposed calibre. This should be a store room, not a ‘luxury’ hotel room. When we asked to change rooms we were offered an upgrade for an additional €330 per night/€1650 for 5 nights. Photos show just how subterranean it is, at least 3 floors below what I would conventionally describe as ‘ground floor’, the internal photos don’t do justice to the level of darkness/lack of light in the room due to iPhone auto exposing. Don’t get me started on the poor food from the restaurant (our neighbour obviously agreed see their note on their room service tray), tired pool area (beautiful views), terrible coffees at breakfast (in Italy! How’s that even possible). The worst €2880 we’ve ever spent on a hotel.

Absolutely stunning venue. Fantastic views over the bay of Naples and Sorrento. The hotel was on a hill but had a fantastic location close to the town centre. The staff were absolutely fantastic. The rooms were clean and good Zoe’ sized and the pool and restaurant area was fantastic. Food was very good too.

The aircon didn’t work the greatest which meant sometimes the room could be stuffy. There was no curtain on the bathroom window so you weee exposed when naked.

The staff are extremely polite and attentive. The restaurants are extremely well positioned with the best views you could ask for. The pool areas, spa and gym are very good.

The shower within the bath tub wasn't great. I would imagine very few people are using the bathtub. i would much prefer a standalone shower, or better still, a walk in shower.

Just arrived back from a week's holiday in this hotel. This is our second stay here and were not disappointed. Lovely food, really nice room with balcony overlooking the bay of Naples. Close to the town of Sorrento, walking distance. Staff are all really friendly. The Maître d', sorry can not remember his name, told me it was his last season there and he is retiring. I was going to wish him well on my last day at breakfast, but he wasn't there! If I had any thing that I would improve, I think the swimming pools are looking a bit tired.

Great location with an easy walk to town. We travelled with our two daughters aged 17 and 15. Our rooms had a beautiful water view. Perfectly clean, lovely service. The breakfast was fabulous - literally anything you could possibly imagine to want to eat on an outdoor balcony with the same stunning views. We were really pleased we could stay in a lovely place and walk maybe 10-15 minutes and be in the heart of Sorrento's pedestrian shopping area where we enjoyed great meals.

Hotel is splendid, lovely rooms, 5 cascading swimming pools/infinity pools with great food and staff. Views across Bay of Naples was stunning.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel during our honeymoon and we had an amazing time! The hotel is beautiful and in a great location - just up the hill from the city center means it is a bit quieter and the views are amazing. The staff was great throughout our stay. The only reason we are not giving a 5-star review is that during checkout, there was a 10-15 minute delay in bringing our bags from our room to the driveway (the hallways are complex and stairs only, so the porters transport luggage throughout the hotel), which made us and the taxi driver wait while he was running his meter. Besides that small issue, we had a great time and highly recommend this hotel!

Absolutely stunning hotel… where efficiency , elegancy and Italian haut-cuisine comes together…. We had an amazing 7 night stay in this beautiful furnished hotel and everyone did its utmost to make our stay exactly what it turned out to be , heavenly … This was our 10th time in Sorrento and visited almost all of the Maniello hotels here, and again it was “estupendo”… thank you

Just back from a 10 night stay for our honeymoon and wow - what an amazing hotel! The whole hotel feels so spacious and luxurious - we loved the Italian feel and traditional tile. Every member of staff was great and a credit to the hotel (maybe their uniform could be relaxed a little as the weather was incredibly hot and they were in shirts, waistcoats and trousers!) The views are amazing and the pool area is great with plenty of sunbeds. We could have easily spent every day here and not gone out and explored the local area!! We had a room with a garden view - these are the walls of our hotel but didnt bother us at all and was much better than expected - we barely spent any time in the room and the hotel has so many amazing spaces to take in the beautiful views. We also had our toddler with us - they had highchairs for breakfast and whilst the pool was quite deep, she managed to spend lots of time playing in it! The hotel is well located - a short walk into the old part of sorrento (the best part in our opinion!) And plenty of restaurants/bars. We will definitely be back one day! What a memorable trip - thank you!

Excellent property and location perfect for Sorrento centre

Just home from a weekend at this hotel as a large group of 7 couples and it was perfect. The location is excellent, it’s about a 5/10 minute walk into the main town area and 20/25 minute walk to the marina. Breakfast was great, lots of choice, omelette station, pastries, prosecco and a setting where you can really just sit back and enjoy. Rooms were nice and spacious, balcony area was nice too and they were cleaned every day with fresh towels. The roller blinds that completely black out the room is also a win! The real highlight of this hotel has to be the pool area, it’s so beautiful you never want to leave and could spend days there. I would also give a special mention to the Pool Bar Staff, they honestly are amazing, so attentive, quickly remembered room numbers, preferred drinks and the service was incredible. I would recommend this hotel over and over again and have no doubt we will return.

This is a luxurious and beautiful hotel with wonderful rooms and fantastic pools. The staff are so kind and classy. The hotel, for all its strengths, is a bit too old-fashioned and I thin needs to adapt a bit to modern tastes. For instance, they have their poor employees working in long pants and jackets and sleeves when it's nearly 100 degrees in August. I appreciate the old school European formality, but it's a little too old fashioned and would benefit from a modest 'refresh.'

After visiting the hotel last year we couldn’t wait to return. Everything was perfect. The location is great to get in and out of town, the hotel is clean and well maintained. The pools are my best part of the hotel with a stunning view. The highlight had to be the staff. It was lovely to see the same staff were still there and lovely and welcoming. I have to say a special word about Anna-Marie. At breakfast and lunch she was there with a big smile on her face and so accommodating. All the staff seem very happy there which is a pleasure to see and a great compliment to the hotel.

При заселении нам предложили номер практически без окна . Все попытки получить нормальный номер столкнулись с полневшим непониманием персонала - якобы у нас этот номер входит в такую категорию . Номера с окнами выдавали за более высокую категорию и с доплатой . Только после часового скандала дали без доплаты номер в котором тоже окно было с видом на стену . Персонал не настроен решать ваши проблемы. Отель старенький. Ничего особенного

What a fantastic hotel. Located a few minutes' walk from the main town, it's in the perfect spot. The hotel is spacious, airy, and spotlessly clean. The pools were great, and the views across the town and the bay towards Vesuvius were spectacular. The staff were amazing, so welcoming and always smiling. It was obvious that they all take real pride in what they do, and nothing was too much trouble to make our stay memorable. We stayed in a Prestige room. The views from the balcony were fantastic. The room was spacious, and the large bed was really comfortable. There are various dining options, all of which were really good. The breakfast buffet was always fresh and with plenty of choice. The next time we go to Sorrento, we will definitely stay at this hotel. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Pool service needs more staff to run drinks and food

Perfect. The views from the property and our room where so beautiful. The food at the bar is good, the pools are incredible, very near the center of Sorrento. Will come back as soon as I can!

Just take into account you have to get to the hotel by taxi from the port which is around 30 euros. Walking to the hotel from there is rather difficult with bags. There is a bus but you had to do a connection - so better the taxi.

What a fabulous hotel in a brilliant location. From start to finish we were made to feel cared for and special. The hotel is easy walking distance to the centre, it is stylish in its decor and the pools are spectacular. There were always enough sun beds for guests and luckily no major rush in the morning like some hotels. Very chilled. Breakfast was great with good choices though some guests just piled food on their plates which they did not eat which was such a waste, but nothing anyone can do about that. Waiter service at the pool was fantastic and again all the team there were extremely respectful, professional and liked to have a laugh with you which was great. Lunch exceptional . All the team were very attentive, good choices and great views. All the team throughout the hotel were very welcoming and extremely lovely, I literally felt valued. Thank you for this. Anna-Marie was just exceptional. Breakfast and Lunch Anna welcomed us with a mega smile, and read the room. She was extremely professional and versatile. You could see she was always putting the customer first and trying to find ways to improve service and give the customer exceptional service. As a business owner myself, these are the qualities of an individual I would absolutely want to represent my company and values in a senior position. Let’s hope Anna breaks the traditional, if not stifled mold, and is promoted to maitre d otherwise I would love to steal her and have her represent my company in a senior management position. Well done Capodimonte we will be back and have already recommended where a colleague has already booked. You made our second trip to Sorrento even better.

The location was close to downtown. The pools were beautiful and relaxing.

Prachtig hotel, zeer groot maar toch had je het gevoel dat er genoeg ruimte was. Prachtige kamer, heel netjes. De ligging is prima, op loopafstand van het centrum. Lunch en diner in het restaurant aan het zwembad was dik in orde.

Het restaurant waar je zonder reservatie terecht kan, ligt echt aan de straatkant en is dus nogal lawaaierig, niet zo gezellig.

Beautiful location and a unique entrance, we were welcomed following a 4 hour drive from Fiumicino airport. It was fantastic service. We really enjoyed it, room was clean and the pool was lovely to cool off in hot weather.

The breakfast offering was a little disappointing for the price that we paid. We also felt that the sunbeds surrounding the pool were dated

Mooi hotel met prachtig uitzicht op Sorrento. Ruime frisse kamers. Als je goed ter been bent prima aan te lopen naar centrum en haventje. Grote parkeerplaats voor hotelgasten aan de overkant van het hotel. Zeer vriendelijke conciërge die zeer behulp was.

We hebben 1 keer geluncht bij het restaurant aan het zwembad. Dit kan veel beter, beetje teleurstellend voor een hotel als dit.

The staff was extremely accommodating and polite. The location is really good. It’s the first hotel right outside of the city, so it has an amazing view of the city / water. Good free breakfast, amazing views, and the hotel is huge! Spend a little more and make sure you can see the Mediterranean!

This hotel is grand indeed. Very big and very upscale. Stunning grounds and stunning views. Lots of lovely places in which to gather and relax. Easy walk to the center of town, with all the shops and restaurants

The location and facilities of the hotel couldn't be better. It feels secluded but is a 5 minute walk to the centre of Sorrento, the pool area has an incredible view and has great pools, and the breakfasts are lovely. The room was spacious and comfortable with friendly staff willing to help with anything throughout your stay.

Excellent facilities, beautiful location, pool, and restaurant. Truly a gem in sorrento and one that I would come back to every year. The proximity to town is perfect too.

This was a repeat stay as we enjoyed ourselves so much and it was a tad bit disappointing this year for service/ cleanliness, perhaps because it was noticeably busier. The bathroom soap bar was reused (had hair/ dirt on it, the inscription was faded) and the staff were a little less helpful. The facilities were still excellent as always, but hopefully it will be better next year.

A beautiful property in a very convenient location to the old town. Elegant pool and facilities.

Small things only such not using fresh milk in the caffe. And long waits for the cooked breakfasts. But they were minor matters.

Location, room cleanliness, view from room and staff friendliness

Some noisy children in pool some days. No problem with kids having fun in pool but it was very loud and no one gave them a quiet ask of keep the noise down. Hotel is not kids hotel and should maintain that atmosphere.

The walk from town on the main road whilst short was not ideal as there is so much traffic, cars, bikes, scooters. We didn’t enjoy that with the children as it was quite intimidating

We’ve just had our second stay at this hotel with our friends and it really doesn’t disappoint at all.. From check in to check out the whole experience was just lovely and thank you for the complimentary bottle of fizz for my wife’s birthday… The views from this hotel are stunning of Naples bay from the breakfast room or swimming pools or garden terrace.. Breakfast was lovely only one observation and that’s only one man cooking all egg variations and sometimes the queues do get long.. maybe scrambled eggs could be done in the kitchen as he’s not so good at those lol…But it’s nothing really a great choice of food is on offer… we had a standard room which was absolutely spot but hopefully next time we can make it to a room just to take in those amazing sunrises.. Thank you for an amazing trip…

The views from the outdoor patios, restaurants, and terrace lounge are spectacular, especially the rainbow on our last day. The breakfast was excellent...nice selections, many healthy, and we could enjoy different foods each day. The "egg man" who prepared eggs and omelets was a daily delight! Our room was absolutely lovely...beautifully appointed, lots of storage for clothing and other personal items. The bed was very comfortable! Nice shower, shampoos and lotions. Our cleaning lady was exceptional (I regret we did not learn her name.)

We would have liked an ironing board and iron to be left in our room for our entire stay. The bathtub surface was quite slippery and hazardous. We did NOT enjoy the pigeons eating off of the tables in the breakfast area.

Estacionamento caro (26 euros por dia). Cobram 5 euros cada garrafa de água no quarto (em hoteis desse nível costumam não cobrar.) O restaurante, para jantar, não está no nível do hotel, melhor sair para jantar na cidade.

We stayed in Grand hotel sorrento for three nights during our Italy trip. The hotel is located centrally in Sorrento, with the main Sorrento town and other attractions at a walking distance. The views of the sea and Mount Vesuvius from the hotel are beautiful. Our room had a balcony which was facing the sea with the views, which added to the experience. The cleanliness in the hotel is very good and the hotel overall is very peaceful. Service is good and the staff overall is very helpful. The best part of the hotel is the waterfall pool. Coming to the rooms, they are little small for the value which is charged. The washrooms are good but designed in a way that water splashes everytime one takes a shower. Apart from these two things, everything is good. Overall, nice hotel, but little expensive for the room size.

Good hotel, very clean, good value for the price. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The pluses are definitely the views and the amazing pool. The negative is the food, especially restaurant le Querce where breakfast is served. Bellevue was better. Helpful tip: the rooms with garden views are in fact view of a wall for floors 5 and under. Obtaining the partial ocean view is really worth it. The rooms are much brighter.

I have always wanted to visit Sorrento and stay at the Grand Hotel Capodimonte after hearing about my parents stay back in the 1980s, so what better place to spend my 40th birthday. The hotel was fabulous in every way, situated just a short stroll in to the centre of Sorrento with stunning views over the Bay of Naples. The restaurant where they serve breakfast looked out over Vesuvius. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the bed extremely comfy. Staff were all helpful and friendly. There is not a thing I would change about our holiday and will definitely be back to Sorrento and the Grand Hotel Capodimonte in the future.

I princip allt var perfekt. Enda anmärkningen var på kaffet på frukosten som var väldigt svagt och att det inte fanns havremjölk. Men att beställa espresso istället funkade bra. 😃

У нас был базовый номер без вида на море, но с балкона был вид на море, что очень понравилось. Вежливый персонал. Чистый красивый номер, очень красивая ванная с окном. Вкусные завтраки на прекрасной полуоткрытой веранде с видом на море. Красивая зона у бассейна с шезлонгами.

Очень плохой кофе на завтраке, администрация, решите пожалуйста этот вопрос. В остальном прекрасный отель за свои деньги - Рекомендую!

The rooms are so spacious, clean and so comfortable. The staff is so friendly. The food is fantastic. I can’t give enough praise to justify how amazing this hotel is. Can’t wait to return!
