Best value for an all inclusive there. And very pretty.
They don’t offer Aperol Spritzers.
Well kept gardens, pool and beach area were great. Rooms are a bit dated but you have everything you need. Beds a very comfortable. Close walking to restaurants.
Main lobby no A/C. Buffet is adequate but lacks that 4* feel.
Breakfast was an excellent buffet! Variety of music all evenings!
No smart TV. Pool needs to be remodeled. Rusted iron was exposed on the concrete bar. The tiles on the floor are coming off.
It was amazing! The staff was so nice and kind, the all inclusive experience was amazing. The hotel has a very rustic vibe, and it was exactly what me and my wife were looking for.
Diana from front desk went above and beyond making sure our stay was wonderful !
(Salorino/ celo)was the best most helpful server always making sure we got what we needed and always very polite and attentive.
Property is pretty old, bathrooms, old sheets and pillows, they smelled old and not clean
How old it was, the rooms, the bathrooms
We stayed here for two weeks on our honeymoon, and we loved our experience! The atmosphere is cozy, the food is amazing, and the staff is so friendly! It’s a great location, and they have multiple fun activities to do at the resort.
Nothing in particular. The food was just barely edible. I’m not a picky eater and will eat pretty much anything, but the selection was very limited, and the overall quality was quite poor. The servers and bartenders were okay, but the rest of the staff were not really up to the same standard.
Regardless of the food quality and the beach location, the main problem was the temperature inside the restaurant and lobby. There is only one restaurant, so there were no other options for breakfast or dinner. The air conditioning was either not working at all or was completely inadequate. For eight days, we had to eat in temperatures of around 31–32°C, with sweat dripping onto my plate and food. I noticed the location of the thermostats, and many times, especially in the morning, they were turned off. The worst experience, and something I have never encountered at any other resort or vacation destination, happened at checkout. Our checkout time was 12:00 p.m., but our taxi to the airport was not scheduled to pick us up until 2:00 p.m., so we had another two hours to wait. When we checked out, the lady at the front desk told us to return our bracelets and said that if we wanted anything to eat or drink after checkout, we would have to pay for it. As a courtesy, the resort should allow guests to continue using the food and beverage facilities for a couple of hours after checkout, especially when they are simply waiting for transportation to the airport. There were several other issues, including a lack of shade, an inadequate designated smoking area with no umbrellas or tables... However, I think I’ve provided enough information to justify the rating I’ve given.
Outdated. Old and TV is only in Spanish. Staff stated they cannot change the language so be aware. Never again!
beach proximity was great. location was good.
Old and dated, past it's prime.
Great staff! great sleep
Beautiful grounds
Great location to get to city center and restaurants and shops
Very Nice Staff!
Location and all inclusive.
Great location. Bernardo the bartender was lovely!!!
Not enough bed covers and bed was very firm. Not enough power points in the room. Hard to locate room when we arrived. Lots of bird droppings in the pool.
Beautiful beach front hotel, lovely staff, good food in restaurant
We stay s at the hotel in an upgraded room and when we can back they only had the garden view rooms and there is a huge difference in comfort and amenities. We liked the upgraded amenities in the ocean view rooms, refrigerators, lockable safe the view of course and it was quiet where we were at. The pool was simple and the actually used the swim up bar which is just a lot of fun.
The garden room view we had was facing the alley between hotels, a bit of landscaping there would make the difference. The door to the bathroom was broken, the shower had mold in the grout, the safe required going to the desk to get a lock. The beds were very uncomfortable and hard. The sheets were thred bare and you could see an old egg molded style mattress topper that did nothing. The dinner is not as good as the breakfast.
Location and quaintness of resort. Old Mexico feel.
Pillows! Need an upgrade.
I booked three rooms. Two did not have hot water for showers. Also, they charged me $120 extra for two of the king rooms because there were people in it. Front desk staff was not very friendly.
The hotel was classic Cabo, it has all the wonderful amenities you needed but it wasn’t overpriced and manufactured. It was much more of a boutique resort on the ocean. Many different travelers from all over the world. We only had breakfast included as we like to eat in the local restaurants. Recommend for the travelers that want to relax and be a part of the Cabo that captures the spirit of the area in a beach front resort.
Pillows. I do think they launder them which is really great but does lend to a lumpy pillow.
Posada Real was small and super laid back. The staff made us feel comfortable and welcome. Even other guests were friendly. We also appreciated at unlike a lot of resorts that feel sort of fake and cater only to foreigners— a lot of the people there when we visited were from other parts of Mexico. The beach could not have been better and the grounds are beautifully maintained. For a vacation on a budget, it was totally delightful. The pool area has a bar open 11-6 and the pool is open 9-9. The servers were super friendly and kept the drinks flowing (although the drinks are sweet and weak). We were super excited to learn that an uber into San Jose del Cabo was only about $8 US which made it really easy to go enjoy town a bit too!
There were a few clear drawbacks that make this place a “budget” choice. The beds were hard, the deadbolt on our door was broken, and the housekeeper seemed to be new to her job (forgot to replace our towels, made the beds inside out, etc.) But, the real issue was the food. There are two food options— the buffet and pool snack bar. The snack bar food was sort of dry and uninteresting. Also, there is no food available from 11am-12, 5-6pm, or 10:30pm-7am. Not a huge deal, but does require a little planning. Breakfast was quite good (chilaquiles, quesadillas, and more standard “American breakfast” faire). Lunch was okay (soups, salads, ceviche). But dinner really pretty awful. For a place that doesn’t seem to cater only to foreigners I was surprised by how bland and sad the dinner buffets were. We were there for Asian and Italian night that were almost inedible and Mexican night which was okay, but bland and made with low quality ingredients. If I were to go back, I’d plan to eat dinners out in town.
Die Nähe zum Strand und der Garten
Ohne Worte
Die Nähe zum Strand.
War alles gut
Love this Hotel and Staff. We have been staying at the Posada for many years, and we will continue to stay there.
Location and staff always a pleasure to deal with
The property was clean and the beds were comfortable
Some of the staff were not very friendly. I had to pay an extra $60 per person which I had told the lady I booked double occupancy but still had to pay it. I told her two of the rooms that I booked did not have hot water for showers and all she said was OK.
Location of the room was great overall;
except for the tennis courts that were right outside of the balcony, and they would play tennis until 10pm all week except for Sunday; The property overall seemed relatively run down and the pool was smaller; the retired people would wake up like early morning crabs and scuttle out to chairs to secure them at the break of dawn so that there would be nothing left for people that showed up later except for the marginal locations; i would suggest not allowing people to "reserve" chairs with their beach towels, so when you show up there is available places to sit;
Great beach
No complaints
Truly a lovely resort, right on the beach. Lovely sunrises. The all inclusive was very nice. Breakfasts were great. Didn’t eat dinner there. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful courtyard.
The bed was hard. No elevators. The pool needed some tile attention.
Old school resort, not crowded. Customers and staff friendly. Easy walk from room to restaurant and beach.
Outdated.
Environnement, repas et confort très apprécié
Mon unité aurait besoin d’un rafraîchissement - un peu vieillot
Absolutely unforgettable—this resort in Mexico is nothing short of paradise. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth, refreshing drinks, and the kind of hospitality that instantly melts away stress.
Fantastic beachfront!
All ok
spent most of our time on the beach or the pool area. The servers were very attentive and enjoyable. Luis & javi &?? havi.
Booking number: SH24395699 I am writing to express my severe dissatisfaction with my recent experience at your hotel. I urge potential guests to avoid this establishment. I travelled with a large family group, and the treatment we received was unacceptable. Upon arrival, the staff claimed they could not find our booking, so we had to contact our travel agent in the UK for several hours while they just washed their hands of the booking to resolve the issue. Their attitude was rude and unprofessional throughout the process. Additionally, we were given an inferior room compared to what we had paid for, with no apology offered. The room was poorly maintained and unclean. We had booked a garden view but were instead placed in rooms overlooking a construction site. Furthermore, the quality of the food was disappointing. I strongly recommend finding a hotel that values its customers and provides a more pleasant experience.
Simon the server was wonderful
The friendly and helpful staff and hotel and grounds cleanliness made for an excellent vacation stay. I liked that this hotel was the old style three story Mexican architecture style. The grounds were well kept and had lots of cacti. The entertainment from Mariachi, to duo singers , Mexican group , to kareoke made for fun evenings. The other guests were friendly as well. It attracts people who return, year after year. The beach was clean . There were pool exercises. The morning breakfast buffet was delicious and had lots of variety. You are within walking distance to some good restaurants. One note, If you enjoy swimming in the ocean they do not encourage swimming at this location. Therefore you have to travel to Medano Beach if you want to swim in the ocean as there are rip tides by this hotel.
Great value for hotel on the beach.
Building dated but still has character.
We wanted to be close to the beach and shopping. Hotel Posada Real is on the beach which is what we wanted. The local market/shopping is about a 10-15 minute walk. The hotel itself is not luxurious but the rooms and restrooms were nice and clean, and it’s in a great location. We didn’t experience any disturbances throughout our trip. We honestly relaxed! They have a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner for those who don’t want to wander out. The menu changes every day and offers several dishes to choose from. Prices are reasonable and the food is decent. There are also several restaurants at a walking distance to satisfy your taste buds if the buffet isn’t or doesn’t offer what you’re in the mood for. The servers, waiters and staff are very friendly. Shout out to Selerino, Luis & Javier! They went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. I would also say this is a family friendly hotel. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back soon.
Great service from all staff, especially Enrico. Would recommend for families. Came with a 15 month old, very family friendly.
Excellent breakfast....lots of variety. Staff kind, helpful, and courteous. Great location for getting downtown and to restaurants. Pool clean and large size. Rooms clean and comfortable.
The hotel overall was OK, however my regular server: Luis, was very good! So attentive and kind. He made sure I was never without a drink in my hand! This place may be subpar, but the servers are EXCEPTIONAL. Gracias Luis!
Fernando, Enrique and Luis were excellent staff. Very polite and attentive. The rest of the staff were excellent as well. Great budget resort. Beach was amazing and the resort is only a 20-25 min walk to San Jose city centre.
Enrique and Oliver did an amazing job their service was fantastic and they were friendly. I am looking forward to coming back to such great place.
Excellent location, free parking, quaint/classic style, staff helpful.
Accommodation is dated, other tenants are loud, price was steep for quality.
Quaint older facility
Wi-Fi was slow
The pool had a lot of tiles missing and a lot of cracks where there should be plaster in and around the pool area. It looks like it hasn’t been updated since the 80’s. Where the bartender stands is very dumpy and he has like 5 2L bottles of soda half used and warm. It just doesn’t look nice. Everything needs to be redone and updated. The shower in my room had a glass door, but everything else was just really poorly slapped together and ill fitting. It wouldn’t take much to make that place a prize because of its location and the large Sandy area has between it and the water. The mattress was hard and flat like the boxspring you put under a mattress. TV is small and it doesn’t get a lot of channels. I did include the breakfast when I got the room so I checked it out this morning and it was pretty good for a little place like that. There was a lady making omelettes and it had fresh ingredients, crispy, bell pepper, and all kinds of things and there was a man making fresh corn tortillas, and making quesadillas with them. I had an omelet frijoles and orange juice, banana, apple and watermelon and there were breads and hard boiled eggs that were delicious.
I explained that in my comment above
It was pretty and on the ocean. The staff is all Mexican people that I have run into were super nice and helpful.
We went there because we thought there was a restaurant, but it was either a buffet or nothing. The fire was nice. The room was run down our drapes didn’t close all the way closed and we were on the main floor so people were walking by but the room was clean. Some of the plugs were broken. It was a little dated.
Angenehme Hotel Größe und sehr gepflegtem Pool und Gartenanlagen. Direkt abgegrenzt vom Strand.
Etwas zu laute Wassergymnastik um die Mittagszeit.
Beach bar was exceptinal
Wavter and beer in room none
Nice beachfront location
Very dated, needs a lot of repairs, hasn’t been properly maintained. Beds and pillows were not at all comfortable,
Location is great, even though the facility is quite out of fashion, but as long as it’s clean, we didn’t mind that. Plus all stuff are super friendly all around me.
Nothing
It was quiet and not too busy - little noise
Dailyt trips to front desk to fix things. Patio door jamming (almost shut us out), closet door off track, These things could have been reported and fixed prior. And the food. We had dinner in the hotel the first nigh and never ate there again. The food was terrible, overcooked and no flavor. The pool bar wold not let us book to our nroom because we 'didn't have credit account'. Front desk never mentioned this upon check in. WE got some cash and had the most overpriced marg ever. And hardly any alcohol in it.
Cercano a plaza mijares y a supermercados.
A vista é incrível. Recomendo!
Setting and staff
Staff friendly. Everything was close, easy beach access. Good view from partial ocean and oceanfront. Outside poolside bar and snack shop easy to access - liked being able to stay outside. Plenty of chairs And places to sit. Evening music was good. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was amazing. Stayed with a group and our rooms were all close to each other. Close enough to gallery district to walk (30-40 min).
The cactus restaurant didn't have as many options as we would have liked. For example, the same fish every night. Cocktails were sweet, wine was bottom end. I did have some bites after being there so wondered if there was bed bugs - but I was only one in our group that got them. Just wish there was more in the area to see while walking around but did know ahead of time that we were in hotel row.

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
5/10Multiple reviews mention dirty or poorly maintained rooms (mold in grout, threadbare sheets), a reported cockroach and bird droppings in the pool — overall cleanliness is notably below average.
Service
9.8/10Service is frequently praised: many guests call staff welcoming, helpful and specifically praise bar/restaurant staff (Bernardo mentioned). Occasional staff attitude issues are noted but overall service is a strong positive.
Location
9.6/10Repeatedly highlighted as excellent: beachfront, very close to city center, restaurants and shops — one of the hotel's strongest assets.
Room Quality
5.2/10Rooms described as old and outdated, uncomfortable beds, broken bathroom door and visible wear (egg-molded mattress topper, general lack of maintenance) — quality is below expectations.
Amenities
6.8/10Mixed amenities: positive points (swim-up bar, pool, beachfront access) but negatives include limited power points, safe issues, TV only in Spanish, and occasional pool cleanliness concerns.
Value for Money
7/10Several guests feel price is somewhat high for the hotel's condition; some booking/billing issues reported. Value is slightly below or around expectation given dated facilities.
Food and Beverage
8/10Breakfast is praised (very good, varied); restaurant and pool bar receive positive comments, though some note dinner is not as strong and isolated staff attitude issues at service points.
Overall Experience
9.4/10Many guests report enjoying their stay thanks to location, friendly staff and the hotel's quaint/old-Mexico charm despite dated rooms and cleanliness/maintenance issues — overall experience leans positive.
