The overall aesthetic of the hotel was appealing, and we enjoyed the size of the room. It was spacious, attractively decorated, and had a modern, comfortable look and feel

Unfortunately, several practical issues detracted from what could have been a much better experience. Firstly, only one toilet roll was provided in the room, with no spare roll available on the holder. This is a basic amenity that guests should not have to request. The bathroom design and layout are also not very practical. The bathroom door opens directly into the toilet bowl, making the space awkward to use. This could easily have been avoided by positioning the toilet behind the door and installing a door stopper. In addition, the washbasin is extremely small despite there being ample space for a larger, more functional basin. No facial tissues were supplied either. Another concern was the open shower design. Water flowed freely out of the shower area and into the passage, leaving the floor wet and slippery. We had to request additional towels to soak up the water after each shower. While the extra towels were provided promptly, the handling of the situation afterwards was disappointing. On multiple mornings, housekeeping came to our room asking for the extra towels to be returned. Most concerning was that on the morning of our departure, housekeeping knocked on our door early to request the towels back, despite us checking out that day. We found this highly unusual and rather uncomfortable. We have travelled extensively and have never experienced hotel staff repeatedly requesting towels in this manner. It left us feeling as though it was assumed we intended taking the towels, which was quite unpleasant. Cleanliness also raised some concerns. Upon arrival, one of the hand towels had hair on it, which immediately raised questions about quality control and housekeeping standards. Finally, the room amenities were not adequately stocked for two guests. Overall, the hotel has potential thanks to its attractive rooms and pleasant atmosphere, but attention to detail, housekeeping practices, bathroom functionality, and guest amenities need significant improvement.

We have been staying at Riverside for many years. The pillows are terrible. We asked for an ironing board 3 times. we were even willing to fetch it ourselves. Overall stay was not as before.

The beds were comfy and warm and the shower was hot with good pressure. Room was pretty but not the cleanest

The rooms were not spotless. Corners were not cleaned. Showers had mold and missing tiles. Curtains were ripped Room 410. The hotel had a very stale smell. Was just not fresh. And the paintwork etc. was bad...walls outside the lifts were dirty. I also wanted to get food at around 11:20 and was told i would have to wait an hour.

Just that the guest make alot of noise through the passages and out the entrance... People book the hotel to come for a relaxing time...

Loud function venue made it impossible to sleep till after 11. Early morning noise. The small tv had nothing you could watch. The kettle was rusty and unusable. Safe does not work properly, kitchen doors didn’t close. Freezer had thick ice. Draws were hard to open. Windows people could see directly in from the business center.

On the whole the hotel deserves a to have a refresh and better maintenance. It has so much potential but small issues like a shower that doesn't drain well, a kettle with a broken lid and very tired cushions on the couches outside Cyril's bar leave one feeling noty enough is being spent on maintenance. The pool area and restaurant desperately need an interior designers make over to bring it into the current decade and help it flourish from being just pleasant to truly fantastic.

We booked a room that was supposed to have a lake view, the first room we were put in had absolutely no view, all we could see were roofs of buildings in front, we then requested to be moved which the manager helped us with but still could only see a tiny bit of lake. There was so much noise during the day and music until late at night and we were woken at 6am by people making a big noise in the corridors. The rooms are not even the slightest bit soundproof. At night the light from the corridors shone into our room around the door so kept us awake. Bathroom door did not close properly and there was quite a fair amount of black mould in the shower. My bed had such a thin duvet on it and my child's bed had red stain on the sheet which wad gross. We also had a house keeper knocking on our door 15 minutescheck out time so felt rather rushed to get out

There was too much noise on the roof, I had to go out for a few hours because the noise was unbearable.

Rooms appear to have been recently renovated but it has been done poorly so looks shoddy. Shower is very narrow so you hit the glass when washing your hair, first time on floor 1 - noisy, no one responded to my Whatsapp messages or queries and QR code did not give me access to the room service menu. Room and stairwells not as clean as they could be. Safe in my room did not work. I have stayed here often and was just a little disappointed this time.

Great location and felt very secure. Plenty of car parking space. Good breakfast and the restaurant was also good value.

The rooms were comfortable enough but were badly in need of redecoration. The bathroom was well appointed but some of the fixtures and fittings were located in rather curious positions. More storage space would not have been unwelcome.

Cleanliness was lacking; roaches were found. The TV remote was missing but they also provided on upon request thereafter. There was not enough tea/coffee provided on arrival; this was remedied after a call to housekeeping. When the room was serviced, items such as shower caps and toilet paper we not replenished.

The administration of booking hotel, spa treatments and breakfast was a terrible, although it's a hotel, all those entities operate in silos, which creates unnecessary admin. I had to email/ instant message the establishment numerous times before getting a response.

There weren't enough dishes for coffee etc. Also, the bedroom carpet was not clean, really grubby so I'm not sure when last it was cleaned.

I have stayed at Riverside Hotel many times in the past, which is why this recent visit was so disappointing. Before our stay, I called in advance to request a room in a quiet area of the hotel and to get information about the Father's Day arrangements. Unfortunately, none of the staff members were able to provide clear or consistent information regarding the day's itinerary. The confusion continued with the breakfast booking. At reception, we were given a breakfast price and instructed to make a reservation at 6:30 a.m. We followed these instructions, only to discover upon arrival at the dining area that our table had been placed outside and we were charged a special Father's Day rate that was significantly higher than the amount quoted at reception. This clearly highlighted a lack of communication between departments. The biggest disappointment was the noise. Throughout the night, guests in the rooms next to us were extremely loud, banging doors and talking loudly in the corridors. The hotel staff appeared to have little control over the situation, making it difficult to sleep and enjoy what was meant to be a relaxing Father's Day getaway. In addition, the lounge area has become very small since the former relaxation area is now frequently used for functions and venue hire. It often feels as though hotel guests are part of private events rather than enjoying a peaceful hotel environment. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Riverside Hotel to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway. It now seems better suited to venue hire and events than to guests seeking comfort and tranquillity.

I was initially assigned a room adjacent to an area where extensive construction work was taking place, including heavy drilling and wall demolition. After I requested to be moved, the front office manager relocated me to a room on the floor above. Unfortunately, the construction noise echoed throughout that room as well, making it equally uncomfortable. I raised the issue a second time and was eventually moved to a room on the opposite side of the hotel, away from the construction, where the disturbance was no longer an issue. I found it highly unprofessional that guests were being accommodated in the section of the hotel directly affected by ongoing construction. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing stay, I would not recommend staying here until the renovation work has been completed.

We were in room 321, worst room on the property, zero protection from the reception area and we could here music (Celine Dion specifically) until late into the evening as well as late arrivals and early departures! Something needs to be done for that room.

Riverside has been my home away from away for years now. The cherry on top was that on this occasion we attended an Easter church service conveniently held in their conference room.
