The Betsy Hotel, South Beach

Premetto che questa struttura ci piace tantissimo (la posizione, il fascino di altri tempi, ...) e sono anni che, per un periodo breve o lungo, soggiorniamo qui. Purtroppo, e mi dispiace tantissimo doverlo scrivere, abbiamo notato un peggioramento lento ma costante dei servizi forniti e della pulizia della struttura. I letti sono comodi e il personale è gentile. Abbiamo mangiato una sera nel ristorante interno alla struttura: ottimo, non economico, chi ci ha servito è stato un po' troppo pressante.

Sebbene i nostri soggiorni siano stati sempre in agosto (quindi bassa stagione per Miami), c'era sempre qualcuno ad aprirti la porta, farti un saluto. Quando siamo arrivati non abbiamo trovato nessuno alla porta, nessuno al valet parking. La nostra stanza, affacciata su Ocean Drive, aveva i vetri assolutamente sporchi. Il bagno non era pulitissimo e soprattutto il rubinetto del lavabo era staccato, era necessario tenerlo fermo per poterlo aprire (possibile che chi pulisce la stanza ogni giorno non se ne è mai accorta/o?); lo abbiamo segnalato al check out. Bisognava stare attenti ad aprire le ante degli armadietti perchè erano traballanti. L'ascensore per raggiungere la piscina sul tetto è rimasto fuori servizio per una settimana (!) quindi era necessario passare dalle scale esterne (alcuni pianerottoli erano ingombri di secchi e materiale per riparazioni). Riassumendo, il prezzo è rimasto elevato ma la qualità é peggiorata. Purtroppo.

One of the best stays we’ve ever had The Betsy was truly one of the best hotel stays I have ever booked. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely special and incredibly well taken care of. The service was exceptional — warm, attentive, and professional without ever feeling overwhelming. Every detail seemed thoughtfully considered, which made our stay feel truly memorable. The interior has so much character and atmosphere. It is elegant, intimate, and full of charm. The live music was the perfect touch and added so much warmth and magic to the experience. This is more than just a beautiful hotel — it is a place with a soul and a very special atmosphere. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

Loved the boutique feel and quiet location and proximity to the beach. Having a glass of chilled Prosecco on arrival was a nice touch.

All the rest- everything was disappointing from the very start, we got A so called upgrade to a dirty suite, sofa bed (that the children slept on it) was so noisy and uncomfortable, nothing like the pictures, after all that they didn’t clean our room till 17:30 when we were back to the room so we had to leave again so they could clean, if you can call it cleaning. We noted specifically in advance the we are celebrating a special anniversary and was truly shocked. By check out time we got a fine discount, but only after complaining few times, and a discount can’t fix the bed experience

- certaines chambres ont une odeur de renfermé et d’humidité inacceptable pour ce niveau de prix. C’est à la limite de l’insalubrité. - l’accès à certaines chambres est extrêmement compliqué du fait de la composition de l’hôtel en deux bâtiments joints par une seule passerelle accessible au niveau +3 - pour couronner le tout l’ascenseur qui permettrait un accès plus simple est en panne depuis plusieurs semaines. C’est vraiment inacceptable aussi. - le Valet est hors de prix (58$/jour) et a la limite de l’agressivité - le personnel est variable, fait ce qu’il peut pour accompagner les clients mais l’hôtel manque d’entretien, non loin d’être vétuste. Encore une fois vous tomberez sur un accueil sympa et aidant mais le service au restaurant est moyen, pas toujours gentil (en dehors de Bettie qui est top) et de certains serveurs du Bar. Au restaurant les serveurs semblent agacés de vos demandes parfois… - vous trouverez un vigile de nuit si vous allez au rooftop le soir qui aura des airs à la limite du menaçant. Sur le positif : - bonne cuisine - beau lobby bien climatisé et vivant - piano jazz sympa et fréquent Mais pour ce prix absolument pas au niveau dans l’ensemble.

The hotel is the perfect blend of beachy low key elegance. Loved the piano playing in the lobby. Art, the concierge pointed us to numerous great activities and locations. And a big shout out to Juan, the bellman who made us feel at home from the minute we walked in and through our whole stay.

Aus dem Abfluss im Badezimmer hat es leider oft stark gerochen. Das Personal hat mir aber sofort geholfen.

Perfect location to explore South Beach, fantastic service by Mark on the front desk and Fritz, concierge from the moment we arrived. Such a warm welcome. Delicious breakfasts and a lovely rooftop pool and bar for spending the afternoon after a morning of exploring and sightseeing. Lovely decorated family bedroom with everything we needed. Only wished we had stayed longer to enjoy the pianist and lobby bar.

This place is pure class. I wrote a review earlier about the gentleman at the bar taking such good care of us. The hotel is in an ideal location and is incredibly quaint on the inside. I wanted to make an edit to talk about Juan at the front of the house. I work in customer service and this man took care of my girlfriend and I like we were the most important people on Earth. He sees everything and is so attentive. He made our stay even better. I am so thankful for him. He could give lessons on how to take care of people. Special person. Thank you, Juan!!!

This is one of our favorite spots for breakfast and dinner. Service and attention is alwya great. Barbara is such an amazing and warm server. Always a pleasure.

The hotel is in a good location, just minutes away from all the action where it doesn't feel so congested but close enough to walk to the bars/restaurants. The hotel restaurant was great! Food was delicious, especially the sushi! I was pleasantly surprised. The price of the room is not commensurate with the size or style. I was disappointed. We also didn't get to check into the room until late, which was unusual. Carmen the bartender is FANTASTIC! Ask for her by name. She was the best part of the stay.

LOVE IT! Home away from home...the most cozy vibe, the most confortable beds and the best People! Shout out to Mark at front desk, Juan and Nora, we had a birthday with a room upgrade and ammenities that make us feel very welcome. The location is great with a beach club right across the street, if you want to be around ocean drive nightlife but have a good night sleep this is the place to book.

Great location and a lovely property

A bit of a rigmarole getting to the room. In one lift, along a corridor then in another lift. After 3 days I still struggled to find my way to our room.

Location was perfect on Ocean Drive and next to the beach. They had a fabulous restaurant with excellent food. The service was amazing - everybody so helpful, nice and welcoming. Live music, water and coffee to drink each day, a bar with great drinks. Nice patio outside.

The rooms were pretty good for the price. Little age in the room and furnishings, but overall very nice and comfortable and spacious.

This hotel was a real surprise, old world Miami vibes about it, amazing service through the bar, pool and restaurant and the location is as good as you will ever get. I was there during the world cup and it was full of fellow Scotland fans, which made the stay even more special. It is a small pool on the roof, but the service up there is amazing and there were always beds when I went up, they come out with free fruit and snacks all day by the pool. Stunning hotel, if I was in South Beach again, 100% I would be staying at the Betsy

If you're tired of faceless chain hotels and want to truly experience the American vibe of Miami Beach, this is the perfect choice. First of all, it's intimate and full of soul. What makes it special is that it's family-owned – you can actually meet the owner at the lobby bar every single day, and he personally makes sure the atmosphere is just right. But the real star of the hotel is his Golden Retriever, Betty – she's absolutely wonderful, so affectionate and sweet, and she instantly makes you feel at home. Don't expect any over-the-top luxury suites here – the rooms are simple and modest, but that's exactly the charm of the place. The real highlights are the unbeatable location (right on Ocean Drive, first line from the beach) and the incredible energy of the neighborhood. There are amazingly delicious restaurants right in front of the beach, and the staff couldn't be more responsive and helpful. A huge thank you to the team for their attentiveness and care. Whenever we had any small issues or something wasn't quite right, they jumped in immediately and fixed everything without a hitch. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to fall in love with the real Miami!

taxis drop you off about 50–100 m away because of the pedestrian zone, so be ready to walk with your bags.

I have stayed at the Betsy in the past. The Hotel lost it's inicial Colonial Design appeal. The rooms and lobby no longer correspond to reference images.

The room was very humid, and the air conditioner didn't have a humidity control. Sleeping at night was very difficult, and the high humidity was accompanied by a strange smell. Despite informing them about the issue, no one took any action, and no room change was arranged. Since it was a very hot season, air quality in the room was very important, and it negatively affected us.

El hotel precioso y muy bien decorado, la suite comodísima y el baño exquisito, la piscina en el rooftop muy agradable, con buenas vistas y reposeras muy cómodas. La ubicación excelente porque tiene entrada y salida por la Ocean Drive y por la Collins Ave.

The Betsy is a fabulous friendly hotel. The hotel looks fabulous throughout. The staff are so professional and friendly. It is the most dog friendly hotel I have visited. They even provide chef made organic cookies for our furry friends. I would absolutely recommend a stay at the Betsy.

Perfect location for perfect vacation! Perfect vibe. Big and bright room. Very clean and super guest service where you change towels as much as you want. Very good for beach front places. Since it is located on quite part of Lumus park very quite in rooms. Hotel has beach facilities too.

Love this place. Rooms are clean comfortable and the AC really works. Funky vibe. Really cool piano bar experience. Great service especially Pam in the lounge.

The process for charging incidentals (F&B etc) has been shambolic. I have over 10 charges and credits to my credit card and in total it is considerably more than what it should be. The whole process is ridiculous. Just charge me on check out for what I consume. Easy. Stop with this ridiculous system of overcharging at the start. I am paying credit card FX charges every time you issue a debit or credit. And I am having to chase you for refunds. You still owe me money! This is no way to treat a customer.

The service was exceptional, Juan and Kelsey assisted us with care and support. We will definitely comeback!

We liked everything.

The Betsy was perfection. This hotel has soul and couldn’t exist anywhere but Miami Beach. Absolutely incredible customer service from every staff member, many of which had been there for 7, 10, 15+ years. From the assistant GM to the janitors, every single Betsy employee treated us like VIPs. It started with Fritz the bellman and the front desk manager. Unprompted, she and Fritz worked together to get us early access to our room. Everyone was proactive, welcoming, kind, generous, unpretentious and genuinely interested in our happiness. The food and drinks at every restaurant and bar were amazing. Gabriel R at the Alley was fantastic, and the linguini, pizza and meatballs couldn’t have been better if we were sitting in a trattoria in Tuscany. Our server, Jennifer at LT steakhouse was a joy, and the food was incredible. The coffee shop pastries and afternoon cookies were delicious, and the rooftop bar staff were friendly and fun. The decor is elegant and eclectic, yet quaint and comfortable. There was a beautiful surprise around every corner—art and books and rich wood and orchids and palms and leather and cabana stripes and live music and layered lighting in the guestrooms. This is the hotel lobby you happen upon on a trip and feel FOMO if you aren’t staying at the hotel. The Betsy is truly luxurious hospitality in action, and we are already planning our return!

Our stay was absolutely amazing! The hotel was spotless, beautifully maintained, and in the perfect location—everything we wanted was just a short walk away. But what truly made this place exceptional was the service. Every staff member went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken car (thank you Fritz). We can’t wait to come back!

Great place, amazing staff. Access to beach from hotel

Our family came here for a quick family vacation from Palm Beach. We were immediately greeted enthusiastically from Evens, who watched over us and made sure every part of checking in was easy. He helped us find the front desk (from Collins), waited with our luggage until our room was ready, and brought it up to us with just as much enthusiasm and welcoming spirit. Our room was absolutely delightful! It accommodated our family of 4 comfortably while giving the kids and parents separate spaces for added comfort. What an amazing hotel! From the decor, to the staff, to the views, nothing was disappointing.

We enjoyed our best drinks, best service and best ambience on our World Cup 2026 Miami vacation to support Scotland at The Betsy on South Beach. The indoor bar area is cool, sophisticated, absolutely buzzing and a fantastic colonial style deco. The drinks and particularly the service we enjoyed from all the staff were brilliant but Pam was absolutely different class and all 7 of our family would agree Pam provided us with the best service in Miami !! Thanks Pam, you are an absolute star. We are back in Miami in February 2027 and the first bar we will be visiting will definitely be The Betsy Ross.

We had a beautiful meal this evening on the front porch of the hotel. All of the meals were excellent and the service and warm welcome we received from Valerie was exceptional front start to finish. Thoroughly enjoyed l, so thank you!

We stayed in a King suite for our 2nd stay and it was spacious, comfortable and relaxing. We used the pool on the roof a couple of times, it's a decent size with plenty of loungers, towel service and a pool bar. The staff at the Betsy are superb, especially Genevieve, who was the bar woman in the lounge... she was lovely, super professional, engaging and a real credit to the Betsy. The location is excellent, right on Ocean Drive, South Beach, which is the perfect location to be in Miami for a holiday. Amazing hotel, amazing staff and amazing food. Highly recommend for that boutique hotel feel with lots of history!

There wasn't anything we didn't like about the Betsy, it was first class. It's not a new hotel, but it's modern, has a boutique feel to it and has plenty of history, Highly recommend.

We stayed at The Betsy Hotel for three nights and had a fantastic experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, with excellent facilities and brilliant rooms that made our stay extremely comfortable. However, the real standout for me was the bar in the hotel lobby. As it was World Cup season, I spent a couple of hours there each day watching the football, and the atmosphere was superb. What truly made the experience special was the staff, who consistently went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. A special mention goes to Adrian, Genevan, Paul, Josh, and Robbie. Their friendly nature, professionalism, and genuine willingness to help took my experience to another level. Nothing was too much trouble, and they always made the time to have a chat and ensure everything was perfect. I’ve visited many hotel bars over the years, and I can honestly say this was the best hotel bar experience I’ve had, largely because of the outstanding team behind it. Thank you all for making our stay so memorable. I look forward to returning in the future.

He was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and accommodating, and he consistently went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience. The bedroom is spacious, comfortable and silent. The location is great, with very easy access to everything. Also, the hotel's restaurant serves excellent meals, can't recommend enough!

We had a very pleasant time here!! We saw good reviews before but the staff here is truly second to none! The building is perfectly located steps away from the beach but also on the board walk. The facility its self is beautiful, dining experiences wonderful, and amenities from the rooftop to the lounge areas and gym are wonderful. We again want to shout out the staff here, from the front desk (Mr. Fritzner) to restaurant/ bar waiters, and other staff which I wish i rememberd their names, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as seamless and comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Wish there was a star above 5 I could rate this stay!
