Nah, the location was very good and the owner was very pleasant.

The place definitely needed some repair. The tile and carpet were dirty and outside of our room had indoor flooring that was all coming up and a trip hazard. The bed was very comfortable and we were provided with extra pillows.

The breakfast needed a bit of a change. Like a waffle maker would have been nice..

It's getting very out dated. Almost like they are just patching up stuff. It's a great location, the front staff was wonderful. But if they don't update the outside and the rooms, the will start to lose business. We have stayed there 3 times now. They time was very noticeable that it needs to be updated.

Awesome place to stay. The only reason I didn't give all exceptional is.. it is an older hotel . Which didn't bother us at all and it is not walking distance which also did not bother us. Room was awesome. Spacious with great view and very clean. Staff was great and free breakfast was very good.

Very dingy room. Not a full bathroom. The sink was in the main room There was only a couple of towels. The carpet was dirty and sticky.

The hotel does not offer hair conditioner, although they offer shampoo and soap. Breakfast is ok, they say " colonial breakfast" but i'd just say regular breakfast. Good, but not colonial.

I liked the location of the hotel. The price was very good. However the facility is a bit old and needs some work done to at least bring it to a good value. Check in was excellent and the staff was very good. I was just not as excited for the age of the building and the lack of up keep on the rooms to make one feel more at home. New carpet and maybe new sheets and towels should be programmed into the budget to just keep things better for the customer.

No more hot tub apparently.... a few years ago we stayed here (loved it) and there was a hot tub but the front desk person (guessing the owner/manager) said the city does not allow him to have one??? It is sitting by the pool but it's empty so that was weird, the washing machine was broken.

We really enjoyed our stay in Blue Door Inn. Located outside the City Centre but within walking distance and very close to Estes Lake. Surroundings including picic area and pool very well maintained. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Good breakfest included. Very nice and helpful Staff. Summing up, great value for money and a place I can definitely recommend.

The room was clean and the breakfast was fine but there are things that need fixed. First of all fix the driveway as it looks terrible and would make the motel look better. Secondly quit renting rooms to long term people as that makes the place trashy. Do something with the hot tub as it is gross sitting there with black water in the bottom and the cover torn up. Paint the building and spruce it up. Get rid of the junky looking stuff outside and daily clean what you do have outside (chairs, etc.) Front desk clerk very nice and helpful. If you would fix the place up it would be much nicer. I am afraid if they don't make some changes it's just gonna be a run down apartment rental eventually.

The location was great, and they allowed us to book one night when other hotels made you book the full weekend.

The place was a cheap motel, and the showers were incredibly noisy. They made a grinding noise, and we could hear it even when our neighbors showered. Plus the bathrooms were like an airplane, the shower nozel was super low, and it was a cheap neon-light-up shower head. Just weird and uncomfortable, especially for what we paid.

The wifi was spotty and not reliable. The TV had very limited options for streaming.

We were given a handicapped room even though we did not need it. The "wooden" ramp for a wheelchair was in poor condition. The floor in the room was definitely not clean and we were given minimum number of towels. The TV was so undersized we could barely see it and the channel selection was very limited. The parking lot needs attention and there are weeds growing around the property. The dryer was not working but the owner gave us access to the hotel laundry for drying. This did not prove to be convenient and we were limited to a certain time slot. We would not recommend this facility.

The curtains wouldn't close all the way. The ac sounded like it was fighting for its life. The floor in the room made our feet black. The stairs in the pool were sharp, broken and cracked. Such a small area for breakfast, it got crowded quickly. The clothes dryer had an "out of order" sign on it, tried the washer but didn't work either.

No pride of ownership signs of neglect in all directions exemplified by broken curtains in room, door fell off shed in pool area, stained towels, didn’t see any staff other than the owner and his mom.

Anlage im Motelstil, Erd- und Obergeschoss. Zimmer war sauber und ausreichend groß. Sauberer Pool mit Liegen und Poolhandtüchern. Sitzbereich im Grünen! Personal freundlich. Lage etwas außerhalb der City mit Blick auf die Berge. Frühstück für amerikanische Verhältnisse gut.

We had a great stay here at the Blue Door Inn in Estes Park, CO. The location is very convenient to the town and to the National Park. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Small miscommunication about whether or not we could check in before the stated time but we made a compromise on the day of checkin.

My Wife and I enjoyed our stay at Blue Door Inn. We stayed there 7 nights, and the room was comfortable, the location was convenient, and the included breakfast was a nice perk. Breakfast was the same each morning, typically consisting of eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, waffles, pastries, coffee, and milk. While there were enough choices to start the day, some hot items were occasionally served cold, but a quick zap in the microwave resolved this issue. Overall, the breakfast was adequate and convenient, but not a highlight of the stay.

While other reviews focused on this being an older property, it's not bad at all, plus the manager Peter is very positive and helpful. When I explained that my kids were staying with me for a night he moved me to a 2 bedroom room and didn't charge anything extra. Meanwhile they have lots of information about things to do in Estes, on the weekends they have a guitarist that plays outside by a fire-pit, they were getting ready to open the pool for the season when I was there, and the breakfast was basic, but very good. Sure you could spend a ton more and get more, but for what it is I consider Blue Door Inn to be a gem in this beautiful location!

The deadbolt lock on the door was broken. It was a first floor room so it didn’t feel very secure.

The property was excellent for their value. It is not too new, but extremely clean, comfortable and everything worked great ( water pressure and AC). One of the cleanest places I’ve stayed. Good small breakfast was appreciated. Peter was nice to advise on useful information ( weather, time of restaurants closure, what to see). At night it was quiet, could not hear the neighbors (woohoo). I will def stay there if I travel to Estes Park again

Old and run down. No repairs have been done in years. Wall air is old and filters not changed. Room was dirty. Manager moved us to three different rooms. First room had hair on counter by blow dryer and bed . Second room was hot and TV did not work. One light in sitting room and the outlet showed signs or being burnt, we thought it was a blub in the light. No, it was the outlet. You could see dirt under the TV stand. Floor had not been swept. Third room the safety lock on the top of the door was completely gone. Door did not shut all the way close. Turned on the AC unit on wall and a terrible smell of musty air came out. Filter need to be changed for sure. Will not stay here again.

The room was not comfortable. It was very cold inside. The heater put out very little heat...too cold to shower. The clothes rack was not stable enough to hold our clothes. Therefore, the rack broke.
