Fantastic location. It was an easy walk to everything. The room was spacious and exceptionally clean. The staff throughout the hotel were professional and yet friendly and helpful.

The sister pool was receiving maintaince for the duration of our stay therefore could not swim which is what we were looking forward to doing most.

Dobra lokalizacja do zwiedzania, wydarzeń artystycznych, dobrego jedzenia, joggingu. Dobry widok z frontowych pokoi. Serwis wody dostępny na korytarzach.

Śniadanie, jak w większości UK, trudne do satysfakcji.

Super zentral, inmitten Old town / Grassmarket. Könnte nicht besser gelegen sein. Zimmer sauber, Schlafsofa war bequem, alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Zimmer etwas in die Jahre gekommen, an den eint oder anderen Stellen ersichtlich.

Zimmer war gegen den Innenhof gerichtet, bei gekipptem Fenster zu schlafen, war nicht möglich Draussen relativ laute Lüftungen (?). Zudem ist das Preisleistungsverhältnis nicht ganz stimmig. Zimmer sind extrem teuer und das für uns als Schweizer.. Hatten für einen Städtetrip in ganz Europa noch nie so viel für ein Zimmer pro Nacht ausgegeben. Frühstück nahmen wir keines im Hotel, da gibt‘s super süsse Kaffee‘s um die Ecke.

Top Lage, ideal für City-Besuch im Zentrum. Gute Betten und gute Frühstück in angenehmer Atmosphäre. Sehr hilfsbereites und freundliches Personal.

Einziger Makel: Preis während Tatoo zu hoch im Vergleich zum normalen Preis, gilt aber für alle Hotels in Edinburgh!

In the old town and close to lots of restaurants

Breakfast was disappointing. It was a scattered buffet. The hotel is on grass market so it gets noisy at night.

Todo, ubicado en el mejor lugar: enfrente de Grass Market, lleno de barcitos y restaurantes, lugar muy pintoresco. A solo 200 mts de la Royal Mile y a 30 m de Victoria Street. Ennfrente del Castillo de Edimburgo, el cual se puede ver desde la habitación El hotel muy lindo, desayuno perfecto , variado y abundante , buffet y a la carta Las habitaciones grandes y con vistas, en ellas hay de todo: cafetera Nesspreso, té, chocolates y agua sin cargo alguno y que reponen a diario, caja fuerte, heladera, plancha, batas y pantuflas Importantes: tiene parking en el establecimiento y es gratuito Mejor imposible!

El personal supero nuestras expectativas, son maravillosos, mientras nuestra estancia había dos españoles y fue maravilloso por el idioma, pero todos hacían lo posible por entendernos.... La ubicación espectacular

Good location for Fringe Festival and Military Tattoo. I didn't indulge in breakfast at the sister hotel until the last day, just before we left. They kindly offered me coffee. The room was very comfortable - just right.

Confusing to have two so close together

Staff were lovely, and we were upgraded to a better room on arrival which was great! Clean, with a good central location close to everything.

Due to being on Grassmarket you can hear a bit of the nightlife.

The locality was perfect and the staff were very polite and helpful. Our room was clean, fresh towels and milk supplied. Breakfast was a choice of continental or cooked to order breakfast, which was tasty. The receptionist Siline was so helpful. In fact, our stay was so good, we've rebooked to go back!!

It was a little confusing with the other Apex hotel.

The location was great. We had parking (had to pay) but it was on site. The room was large and even had a small fridge.

In the heart of the grassmarket with views of the castle. Ease of getting about Edinburgh. Hope on hop off bus right outside hotel. Good sized room. Bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly.

Da acomodação inicial não gostei. Não atendia a acessibilidade ( escada íngreme para o dormitório!!) nada acessível!!! Nota 10 para a chefe de recepção, Patrícia, e para a gerente, Carlota, que providenciaram a troca para uma acomodação tripla, e muito espaçosa e clara. Obrigada!!

A inicial era atravancada em espaço e em dois pisos, com escada íngreme. E banheiro num piso e camas no outro. Nada acessível para pessoas mais idosas, com problemas articulares.

Absolut überteuertes Hotel. Sehr unpraktisches Badezimmer, mit super kleines Waschbecken/Lavabo. Nicht funktionierende Kaffeemaschine. Sehr minimalistisch. Für das gebotene viel zu teuer (August ist offenbar die teuerste Monat), aber eben die Lage war sehr zentral. Frühstück ebenfalls völlig überteuert für das gebotene.

The carpet is clean but very old and we think that it isn’t wash ever. It is very dirty and smell on unwashed, dirty and old socks.

Only the staff is very good and positive

We were offered a 20% discount, so we decided to order the steak menu for two. The staff said absolutely nothing about any restrictions when taking our order. However, when it came time to pay, they informed us that the discount didn't apply to this item. To make matters worse, they included drinks we didn't even order into the bill and charged us for them. Instead of getting a 20% discount, we ended up paying 20% more. It felt like a total scam, and it was by far the worst treatment I have ever experienced. They dont even apologize. On top of the terrible service, the hotel itself is extremely uncomfortable. The bed and pillows were so bad that you would honestly get a better night's sleep sleeping in a tent. A complete disappointment.

Great location right in the center of it all with lots of places to visit and eat. Staff was friendly and the room very nice with everything you need, the little treats left in the room were very nice.

The location of this hotel was great! The front desk staff was helpful and willing to answer any questions. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean.

Of all our accommodations while in Ireland and Scotland, this one was the most expensive. We understood that this was due to the Fringe Festival that was being held there. When tourists are traveling out of the country, it is so important they know about parking accommodations early.

Ottimo albergo, ben curato e con uno staff di altissimo livello. Le camere erano spaziose, pulite e confortevoli. La posizione centralissima è sicuramente uno dei punti di forza della struttura e permette di raggiungere facilmente a piedi le principali attrazioni di Edimburgo.

Purtroppo la nostra stanza, situata al secondo piano, dava sul parcheggio e sul sistema di ventilazione, che produceva un po’ di rumore, soprattutto perché le finestre non erano perfettamente insonorizzate. Inoltre, di tanto in tanto si avvertiva un leggero cattivo odore proveniente dal bagno.

Great location. Restaurant in sister hotel just down the street was reasonably priced. The staff upon arrival and departure were very nice. Unfortunately, the night staff were arrogant, snarky, and unhelpful.

Hair on bathroom and bedroom floor. Shower and sink drains were clogged. The shower had standing water within the first min or two of running; the floor was at risk of flooding after a few mins if you didn't turn it off. Night staff just smirked/chuckled and said maintenance will take a look the next day. Apex charged over £325 per night for a room without a fully functional shower is very poor service. It shows a lack of proper cleaning and potentially poor management.

Good location and staff friendly and efficient. Room a good size and the bed comfortable. Good choice at breakfast.

Small details where maintenance needs to be kept up as the room was getting a bit tired for a 4 * hotel- sink didn't drain quickly, the tiles in bathroom could do with a deep clean. Facia panel below TV loose and paintwork on bathroom door needs redecorating.

Was an OK hotel.

Booked via Booking.com., but hotel required payment through its own payment system which required logging on through a timed message - took 3 tries to get the payment to go through, and had to call them twice - to get them to reset, and also to confirm the payment went through (as it did not send a confirmation). Also, there is another Apex hotel in Haymarket that is easy to confuse with this City hotel (which is on Haymarket).

The location was extremely convenient.

The inability to use the room AC in the cooling mode. The AC can only be used for heating. My room was at the rear of the hotel and the noise from the plant room was very load and the bedroom window had to be kept open because the AC cooling was not allowed to be used. The sofa in the landing was very old and in poor condition for this hotel.

On the first night, I was given a standard room instead of the suite I had booked. The hotel acknowledged the issue and advised me that the rate for the first night would be reduced as compensation. However, I have not received the adjustment or any confirmation regarding the refund so far. This was disappointing, especially as the issue affected the beginning of my stay

Hôtel bien situé à proximité de la vieille ville. Dispose d'un parking. Buffet pour le petit déjeuner, évite d'attendre....

L'isolation des chambres n'est pas suffisante, on entend le bruit des extracteurs qui sont dans la cour. mais il vaut mieux être sur l'arrière que je suppose que sur la rue, c'est bruyant car beaucoup de restaurants à proximité.

Excellent location, very close to all important places of interest. Rooms were comfortable.

Very noisy room , there was no wall insulation. Room had a continuous noise possibly from an external A/C unit. All the amenities were in the other Apex hotel and there was no interconnection between the two hotels. Breakfast had only a few choices and it was at an extra price (!) of 15 pounds if you were about to choose from the buffet or 19 pounds if you were about to choose from an à la cart menu , where you had to choose only one option.

The price was a little high so expected a little more luxury than I got, for 2 nights I paid the same price as a family holiday for a week so did expect more

Pour une chambre à 500 euros la nuit j aurai aimé trouver une chambre au niveau du prix . Pour la salle de bain , nous étions deux , pas de lavado mais un lave main au ras du sol . Certainement pour les personnes à mobilité réduite . Il était collé au wc . Salle petite avec des meubles très abîmés et notamment un fauteuil très endommagés .

Very nice hotel, quiet, clean, very comfy bed and duvet. We got a voucher for 20% off food and drink in the sister hotel and we ate there twice and found the food very nice, good service and a good deal with the discount. Very close to the Castle and the Royal mile just a few minutes walk. There are a lot of bars/restaurants also with outside seating (weather permitting) right outside the hotel.

There is no bar and restaurant in this building - you have to go 2 doors down to the sister hotel. Only breakfast is served within this building. While the location is great so close to the Royal Mile etc - the walk up a hill - Victoria Street I think it is called is quite steep and jammed with tourists as its a very popular area.

We had front street facing windows and there were a few times people outside were having way too good of a time. But all in good fun.

This hotel is in the perfect location! Directly across from some wonderful shops and restaurants, very close to Victoria Street shopping, with gorgeous views of the castle. A perfect spot! The staff at breakfast were great, and the food well worth the cost!

I found that the check-in staff had some room to be a bit friendlier. They were not mean or anything, but they could have done a bit more to welcome us.
