Excellent location.

Small hotel with maze-like room location and stairs to the room. Fairly kind front desk staff who appeared to know very little about the place because she was “new”, but helped lift luggage up to the 3rd floor.

Location great. Remodeled bath.

Vinyl floors. Small rooms. AC did not work. No tissues in rooms.

Location perfect for fringe & Tatoo.

Lower the price spike for frying.

Close to everything in Old Town. And not very noisy despite being at the center of the late night crowd. Breakfast at the pub was excellent as well.

bij ons verblijf van 1 tot 3 /9/26 kregen we een veel te kleine kamer. Een bed in een nis waar we over elkaar moesten kruipen om uit te stappen. Aan 76 jaar niet evident.Kamer te bereiken met 40 trappen. Volgende verblijf een degelijke kamer maar geen venster.

The room appeared clean, and the breakfast was comforting.

It was difficult getting to our room and the room was very cramped. I shared a double bed with my daughter and she had to crawl over me to get in bed. The duvet wasn’t large enough for two people, I used the blanket that was in the room.

As dificuldades começam do acesso ao quarto - o elevador não chega no andar do quarto e era necessário subir por escadas estreitas. Na chegada, nos enviaram por engano para um quarto que, ao abrirmos a porta, vimos que já estava ocupado (com malas - sem as pessoas dentro...). O nosso quarto era muito pequeno - as fotos no Booking não correspondem ao tamanho do quarto que encontramos. Ao chegar, notei que não havia sido dada descarga no sanitário. O café da manhã é no pub tradicional que fica anexo ao hotel - os funcionários do pub eram relapsos ou atrapalhados, porque no último dia não havia várias coisas ao mesmo tempo no buffet: copos, talheres, xicaras, croissant. No entanto, o custo do hotel foi alto.

Idealna lokalizacja, parę minut spacerem na Zamek. Blisko do wszystkich atrakcji. Hotel dość czysty, pokoje ok ale cena zbyt wysoka jak na tak niski standard pokoju, płaci się ewidentnie za lokalizację

Śniadania to pomyłka. Codziennie był z czymś problem i trzeba było szukać obsługi, że brakuje kubków/widelcy/ herbaty itp bo same nie dokładały niczego. Wybór praktycznie żaden, były tosty i rogaliki. Nie było nawet jajecznicy. Minus też, że śniadania są dopiero od 8, jak ktoś spieszy się na samolot z rana albo na jednodniową wycieczkę poza Edynburg to nie zje.

- Uitstekende locatie. Veel restaurants en gezellige bars op het plein. Veel bezienswaardigheden (zoals het kasteel end e royal mile) te voet bereikbaar. - Straattheater voor de deur. De kamer was goed geïsoleerd, dus binnen geen last van het geluid. - Korte avondwandeling van de tattoo naar het hotel, alles bergaf. Perfecte locatie voor een bezoek aan de tattoo!

- De TV werkte niet. Dit meermaals doorgegeven aan de receptie, maar niet gemerkt dat men aan het probleem werkte. Toen we vertrokken werkte de TV nog steeds niet. - De vloer in de kamer was ongelijk. Richting de ramen liep je bergop. Typisch voor zo'n oud gebouw. - Helaas gingen de ramen niet open. Anders hadden we nog meer kunnen genieten van de optredens op straat. De airco zorgde wel voor voldoende verse lucht. - De temperatuur van het douchewater was instabiel en slecht te regelen. - Duur (zoals alle hotels in augustus)

Excellent location, accommodation was excellent as we required 4 separate beds. The beds were very comfortable, and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Very modern interior and most importantly, tea making facilities! There were street performers, and a small market right outside when we visited which was lovely. They were even good enough to store our bags after checkout so we could have one last look around before heading to the train.

Couldn't fault our stay. Couldn't recommend this hotel enough.

Best possible location

Room was tiny!! Lots of stairs and small winding corridors to get to third floor. Lift only takes you to 1st floor.

Os principais pontos da acomodação são a localização e máquina de café liberada para os hóspedes. Sem dúvida a melhor localização de todas, amamos! Fica bem na vitória street, cheio de pubs ao redor.

Único detalhe (mas vimos o mesmo em outros locais que passamos na Escócia) é que precisa pegar escada, no nosso caso estávamos com malas pesadas, mas nada que atrapalhe.

Понравилось абсолютно всё номер чистый ,персонал приветливый, завтрак был вкусным огромное спасибо за бесплатный и вкусный кофе. Мой семейная пара отдыхали вдвоём отель подходит для всех возрастов.

Unter unserem Zimmer befand sich ein Frühstückslokal, in dem bereits ab 6:00 Uhr morgens Musik mit viel Bass lief. Durch die alten Holzwände war die Musik in unserem Zimmer deutlich zu hören, sodass wir dadurch leider früh geweckt wurden.

Have always loved this hotel. August prices during fringe have broken the bank. And while this is market forces, it does, I think, mean the owners need to make sure that the hundreds of pounds a night are well spent.

… two things are consistently annoying me at this hotel and I do point it out at the desk, but after a year or two, I think time to mention on a review in the hope they’ll be sorted - which, I think is possible on perhaps the cost of two evenings in August. 1. If you state the room has air con, and the air con does not go lower than 21 degrees, it isn’t air con. It’s heating. Yes you have fans at reception. But you also have air con. Actually fix it. Or don’t put it in the room description. When paying a fortune having a night of insufferable heat is not good. Please fix it. And 2. Every time I’ve paid for a late check out the message does not reach housekeeping and we get knocks on the door, phone calls, and then ultimately everyone realises that yes, we paid for it and it’s fine. But when working very late and paying for it, I don’t think that being woken up is necessary with some better communications between the team. It happens every time. Please fix these two things, because if you did it would be the perfect hotel. X

I love that this hotel is close to everything in Old town! Its is so nice that the staff are helpful and kept our bags for the day. We truly appreciated this as it gave us a chance to tour the city on the last day! Our room view was excellent.

The bathroom was not as clean as it could be. It smelled so bad we had to request a cleaning of it at the beginning of our stay. The smell still did not come out.

A bit noisy during festival, but you don't miss a thing because it's a prime location,corner property where you can watch 2 streets' activities right out the windows! Great space, clean rooms, excellent and attentive staff.

Very basic room although bathroom facilities were spotless. Spotted 2 mice in the corridor the morning we were leaving. There was nobody on reception to notify so just left keys on desk and left.

Die Lage vom Hotel ist einfach umwerfend toll. Es ist alles zu Fuß erreichbar und man ist mitten drin.

Ci hanno dato una camera rumorosa al primo piano, nonostante avessi chiesto piano alto silenziosa. Cambiata subito con altra senza oscuranti alla finestra, con sveglia alle 5 del mattino. Ci hanno quindi ricambiato la camera con una con gli oscuranti funzionanti. Quindi 3 cambi di camera in 2 giorni

A handsome old building in a central part of the city with friendly staff and a comfortable bed. Nice bathroom. As with most rooms during the Festival it’s not cheap but it’s pretty decent.

The window of my room wouldn’t open properly. The decor is quite self-consciously modern but it’s fine.

Great location

I appreciate it is the Fringe festival but it was quite noisy with music until the wee small hours.

Bathroom door hitting the bed! Always cold on entering. PowerPoint near bedside table would be helpful. Breakfast next door was not up to scratch☹️

Posizione super centrale e comoda a tutto. Rapporto qualità prezzo buoni Buona la colazione. Per noi era già compresa nel prezzo e comprendeva un buffet dolce e salato più un piatto caldo da scegliere sul menù e preparato al momento. Bagno pulito e comodo.

It got a little stuffy and hot, we were grateful for the 3 fans that were provided in the room.

The location is excellent, right next to Victoria Street. Easy walk to Edinburgh Castle and the royal mile. Rooms were clean and updated.

We had 3 fans in the room but none of them worked. We only stayed 1 night so we didn’t say anything to the staff, I’m sure they would’ve helped us if we had.

I ended up in a very small room with a small window looking out at a wall with another small window, right into someone else’s room. I am someone who loves light and though the lighting inside the small space was great, I would have preferred a real window. That said, I would stay here again, absolutely. I’d just ask for a room with a real window.

Really great (even fancy) location — 15 minutes from the rail station, close to the main sightseeing places The staff at the reception was really friendly and helpful — we asked for the second blanket and then decided to extend our stay by 1 more day. Both of the requests were fulfilled in less than half an hour The room is really small but actually gives a cozy atmosphere. Would like to have more shelves to put my stuff on but otherwise it’s great. Room was clean and tidy when we arrived and after cleaning during the day Good breakfast, free coffee at the reception and tea-instant coffee-milk in the room So, overall, it’s pricy (mostly because of the location) but we had a fantastic time

Das Zimmer war extrem klein, zu klein - auch für die Buchung "Snug" zu klein. Das Bett ist direkt an der Wand. Dort blättert die Farbe bereits ab. Das Licht ging nicht richtig aus. Man wurde aufgefordert die Koffer unter das Bett zu schieben. Dort befand sich ein unbekannter BH einer Vormieterin, was auf die Gründlichkeit des Saubermachens schließen lässt. Das Frühstück im Pub ist ungemütlch und man hat das Gefühl an "klebrigen" Tischen zu sitzen.

All rooms had tiny, very dirty windows that could not be opened more than an inch or so. Internal stairs to some rooms, no lift. Single room unpleasant & tiny. Overall, too expensive for the rooms offered.

Das Frühstück im angrenzenden Pub ist nicht zu empfehlen, es stinkt in der Früh nach Bier und die Tische sind klebrig. Ich trinke selbst gerne Bier, aber in der Früh brauche ich das nicht, Da eher ohne Frühstück reservieren und ein Lokal in der Nähe besuchen. Wir haben das Frühstück im Voraus dazugebucht, was ein Fehler war. Nach dem ersten Tag sind wir wo anders hingegangen-

Great location for Edinburgh. At the corner of Victoria Street and directly on the Grassmarket. This does make it a bit noisy so be sure to bring ear plugs if you’re sensitive to sound while sleeping. The staff was great and they allow you to leave luggage if you get there early or are leaving past check out time!

Windows don’t open and can be stuffy. Very busy part of Edinburgh lots of noise but we were fine with earplugs. It is a bit pricey per night and the beds are a bit uncomfortable but overall would stay again.

In pieno centro, ma con finestre ben isolate quindi i rumori esterni non hanno dato fastidio. Staff gentile. Camera basic con il necessario, letti comodi. La colazione è servita nel pub sottostante. Si può richiedere un piatto caldo dal menu oltre al classico buffet. C‘è un servizio di custodia per i bagagli il giorno della partenza.

Il pub è rimasto aperto fino a tardi la sera prima. Al momento della colazione il pavimento non era pulitissimo, non bisogna essere troppo schizzinosi, fa parte dell’esperienza! 🤭

Eher etwas laut zum schlafen.

As a last minute booking I wasn't expecting much, but the hotel staff were fabulous. Accommodated my requests, supported my husbands needs and were generally lovely. Clean, welcoming, and although we were next door to the pub it was surprisingly quiet.

Not much not to like.

Było ok, natomiast uważam, że cena nie jest adekwatna do wyglądu pokoju. Nie wiem jak inne pokoje, ale mój był mały i dość ciemny, a zapłaciłam za noc, jakbym spala w Grand Hotelu w Sopocie
