nice clean apartment and view was nice
Perfect location for some privacy and some local action, own beach and plenty of pools, facilities in the apartment
Sometimes the music at the pool played for more than 12 hours a day, even when the pool was deserted and it was the same music most days. It was unfortunate that the pool bar was closed, although we had been forewarned.
Environment was clean and pleasant, food was good, most of the staff was friendly and helpful especially at the restaurant.
Stays need to include a meal plan as choice rather having to do it at the hotel, and if there was any available then it needed to be highlighted.
I booked a 2 ngiht stay with my kids for a little end of summer treat, my only regret was not booking longer, the staff and facilities exceeded my expectations, I will be returning again. Perfect for my kids with the playground, mini golf and 3 pools! We could walk to different restaurants in the Gap which made it feel like I could take a genuine break before the normal rush of back to school. Thank you to all the staff. My kids want to return already!
the bed
On the day I arrived, the hotel had a problem with a pipe that supplied water to the property. During check-in, no one informed me about this issue. I only found out after I was already inside my room. When I went back to the front desk to ask what was happening, I was told it was a "temporary" problem. However, the issue lasted throughout the entire night. The receptionist was a 19-year-old girl who was completely uninterested, had very poor customer service, was rude, and constantly made facial expressions that seemed to say, “I don’t care.” She showed very little interest in helping guests and acted as if she was doing customers a favor, when in reality we are paying for a service. The very least a hotel should provide is respectful and professional treatment. She was the only staff member who treated me this way. I interacted with several other employees, and they were all kind, respectful, and helpful. I would not return to this hotel. She was incredibly rude.
staff! Amazing! Location and all around facilities
more cleaning

I am not a picky traveler and usually prefer to travel on a budget because I care much more about experiencing the island and exploring the destination than staying at a luxury hotel. Unfortunately, my recent stay at Divi Southwinds was still very disappointing and by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in the Caribbean! We stayed August 2026, and experienced several issues throughout our stay. Our room was never actually cleaned. Housekeeping was only available to remove trash, and because of the housekeeping schedule, there was no room cleaning or bathroom servicing during our entire stay. The room itself had several maintenance issues, including a broken bedroom drawer, rust in the shower, and a bathroom sink that repeatedly overflowed. The shower water was also only lukewarm. Our room key bracelets stopped working about two days before checkout, which was another inconvenience. The resort’s pool bar/restaurant was closed for our entire stay, and there was essentially no entertainment, which made the resort feel very quiet and underwhelming. The television also only had about five channels, and most of the time they didn’t work because of poor signal. The grounds and overall property appeared dated and in need of updating. We also had cat feces directly outside our room, which was especially unpleasant. I understand that this is not a luxury resort, and I wasn’t expecting luxury. However, basic cleanliness, functioning amenities, maintenance, and some level of entertainment are reasonable expectations. Barbados itself was beautiful. Savvy on the Beach, Pat's in Oistins, and the Fish cakes at Sharkey's are a MUST! Also, the local bus vans are very convenitent for 1.75 US per person. We enjoyed experiencing the island but unfortunately the hotel was a significant disappointment. I would consider returning to Barbados, but I would choose a different resort next time.
Divi was welcoming and clean. The staff was polite and helpful. We just wished there was more restaurants and activities and bars on the physical location.
L emplacement et activités pour les enfants
La jeune fille a l accueil du matin!!!! Elle ne fait aucun effort pour comprendre le voyageur Français.
We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom apartments as a family of 4. The hotel has done a great job of refurbishing the place. It's very clean and the facilities are just what we needed - 3 pools (we loved the one by the beach), pitch and putt, tennis courts etc - lovely quiet beach - small shop (fairly limited stock, you will need to visit a supermarket if you want to eat in) - access to some great bars and restaurants on St Lawrence Gap - laundry facilities, beach towels etc I do wish you could get drinks and snacks by the main pool - when we were there you had to walk to Pure Ocean (hotel restaurant) which isn't far, just slightly inconvenient. Couple of recommendations - There are 2 'The Cake Lady' Coffee Shops within walking distance - the cakes here were soooo good. - We only ate in at Pure Ocean once - it took ages to get the food. After that we just ordered it well in advance and collected the food and ate by the pool instead. Would definitely go back!
We had a wonderful time. Everything went smoothly and it was worth the price. We definitely will be back.
Lots of restaurants around the area, lots to do on property
Nothing really
The property was very kid friendly and had lost to do. Very clean and well kept
My wife and I had an incredible stay at Divi Southwinds! It was a belated anniversary celebration and we thoroughly enjoyed the facilities (pool, mini-golf, table tennis, basketball, tennis, pickleball). The meals were enjoyable and the easy access to St. Lawrence Gap was a plus. The environment was lovely and the staff was friendly and professional. God willing, we wish to return and bring our children along with us next time.
We had a great time. The staff was super kind and helpful. The pools and beach were refreshing. The restaurant had great service and delicious food.
Prefect location with public transportation. Beach Access & Night Life less than a 5 min walk & family friendly. Staff was amazing.
The experience was terrible the elevators were not working the air conditioners were not working the lights were flickering and everything was overall terible food was gross 🤢
Good location , staff was polite and helpful
Air-conditioning very noisy Sofa bed needed upgrade very lumpy
All the amenities, property well maintained, amazing staff, close enough to everything, no need to leave the resort unless you really want to go out
Minor upgrades to the rooms such as modern locks (the deadbolt on my room was giving problems, however the staff sorted this out), the gym needs an overhaul with new equipment
Room was very modern and cozy. Stocked with all necessary toiletries. There is a mini mart so any travel items you may made need or forgotten they are well equipped. Much appreciate the receptionist Jess, Jess for short hand name. She was very pleasant and accommodated any misunderstanding that was had. pure ocean restaurant staff was awesome and friendly.
Hotel staff is friendly and attentive. The rooms are clean and accommodating. It’s a lovely resort with three pools and lots of places to relax and reflect. It has a lovely beach and lots of restaurants nearby. I’ve stayed there for over 30 years but in the past several years the resort has become better and better. Lovely grounds and good maintenance.
I stayed at this hotel and it was nice. The location is great
They took money from my credit card and hasn't given me it back yet. After repeatedly telling them my reservation is fully paid for, and after they confirmed it was payed for they took money and did not pay me back. I called them twice. And they took my information and they never gave me back a refund for the money they took. Very unpleasant.
The proximity to restaurants and Oistins.
The water temperature was cooler than I would’ve liked, but I get it.
We stayed at another Divi resort which is one of the reasons why we selected this resort. It's located on the beach (big selling point for us), large grounds that are very well maintained and the resort has much to offer (3 pools), etc. Located in the "touristy" area, so lots of attractions nearby. We would return here, so we recommend Divi.
Everything the peace and quiet and the pool that neverrrrr closes
The WiFi going in and out but once the problem was fix it was smooth sailings
Hotel is in the perfect location, walking distance to bars and restaurants. Great atmosphere. Good service.
Wonderful Resort with a wonderful staff. Rooms have recently been renovated. Located in the heart of the gap walking distance from everything. Lots of amenities for kids there is a playground miniature golf Pickleball all included. We cannot wait to stay on our next trip to Barbados. The pool was also heated to a great temperature and very clean.
The resort has alot of beautiful longe spaces and greenery to give you that island feel. Plenty activities to take part in for you to enjoy.
Divi Southwinds is by far the worse Divi in the chain. The place is old and outdated with no efforts going on to update and improve. No pool bar, no TV in public areas. World Cup going on, no place to watch at Divi. However, the staff are great. Super friendly and always helpful. You'll start to feel bad for the staff during your stay. The staff is trying so hard, but working with a management that does nothing to improve this old hotel.
Cozy, clean, quiet and safe with excellent location right on the Dover beach with crystal clear water, good for swimming and snorkeling, Friendly, polite, always helpful people with deep local knowledge which saved us lot of time and money. We would like to especially thank them for hospitality and morning smiles. Bus stop is opposite hotel, in walking distance you will find local vendors with great food and also small super market on dover road.
The Divi and the location were chef's kiss! You couldn't be in a better spot to visit the island and not to mention St. Lawrence was nice. Great eateries and night life. The people were friendly and not to mention you could get a taxi quick.
The pool also garden
The bed was a spring bed so at the middle of the bed You will roll off i made it complaint and they send the fixed guy to put half of a plyboard under the mattress which did not help. So I slept my 5 days on vocation in divi here on a chair bed. Which was on acceptable The control of the AC it's in the living room. Which the living room was always cool. And the bedroom had no control, and it was always hot.. i didn't enjoy my stay at this hotel. Location was one hundred percent good.
We had the best time. We chose this hotel because of its location and the fact that there was a kitchen and balcony in the room but also we enjoyed the mini golf, the pickle ball, the monkeys roaming on the property and the pool. The ambiance is very relaxing and quiet. I totally recommend it.

This was one our best holidays we have had as a family we have been many places this is up there with one of the best lovely hotel exceptional staff brilliant location brilliant food people everyone really welcoming polite no one being pushy for you to buy stuff or over doing things for tips which makes you want to leave a tip for beatiful services they provide can not fault this place what so ever and especially the main receptionist at the front desk i wish i could remember her what a beautiful soul so helpful polite professional at the same time she is the face of this resort she the main one starts about 0830 and books you n greets you on arrival know one better for this job i wish we could remember her name tho begins with S 100% tho
We have previously stayed a bit closer to Bridgetown, but thought we’d try out the St Lawrence Gap area this time. We ended up arriving a day late for our reservation, as our plane was turned around back to Toronto in mid-air when the Barbados air traffic controllers went on strike. However, luckily we made it back the next day. We got a lovely room on the 5th floor - 1 bedroom suite, pool view. There is a small but complete kitchen, including microwave, fridge and smooth cooktop, coffee maker, blender and toaster, all dishes, etc. 4 person dining table. LR with sofa and chair, large TV. Nice balcony with view of the main pool. Separate bedroom with king bed, fair bit of storage, large TV. There is a safe, somewhat awkwardly positioned in the closet. Bathroom has large walk-in shower with nice pressure and lots of warm water, separate sink. Had some fun getting the AC adjusted comfortably, along with the bedroom overhead light/fan combination. King bed and pillows were very comfy. WiFi was good. We really enjoyed being able to make our breakfast, and eat on the balcony, overlooking the pool. The grounds are beautiful, and very well-maintained. There are even several cute cats who make their home down by the pool, and on a couple of the patios. We headed to the Activity Centre for orientation, and she was able to give us information about the activities at the resort, and also book some outside activities for us, and a dinner reservation. They have a challenging mini golf course, and we enjoyed the Beach BBQ with entertainment - someone playing steel drums and a fire dancer. Also well-attended. Manager’s cocktail party at Bajan Breeze Bar, with some local vendors. There is a lovely wide sandy beach, just a short walk across the street from the hotel. There are tables and chairs for the beachside bar/restaurant, and lots of loungers and umbrellas. People seem to move along, and not save loungers all day, so no problem getting a couple. Windy with quite big waves every day - we did venture into the water a bit, but no real swimming or snorkelling. Generally came to the main pool to swim. Fair number of people at the pool most days, some families, but again, able to get loungers and umbrella. People don’t seem to save. There are 2 smaller pools as well. The mini mart on site is handy to pick up small items. The location is great, close to loads of good restaurants, bars, shops. Taxis are available, and easy to get a ZR ($3.50 BBD) bus just outside the gate. Our one disappointment was that in order to make a claim on our travel insurance to be reimbursed for the first night that we missed due to the strike, our insurance company requested that the hotel just confirm that they had not already given us a refund for that night. A simple enough request, but the hotel would not even answer/respond to our emailed request. Not very helpful.
J’ai beaucoup aimé toutes les activités à disposition, c’était super pour les enfants
La climatisation dans la chambre fonctionnait mal
Was an overall great experience. The facility was clean and well kept. The staff was attentive. Some even went above and beyond to assist me.
We stayed at this resort second week of April for a week . I was very apprehensive after reading some of the review . Yes the reception staff at check in were not that great but that’s probably because they were busy . The rooms are huge with two large Tv s both with Netflix , cooking facilities and enough cooking utensils if needed . We didn’t cook but it’s there if you need it . Our room was cleaned enough throughout our 1 week stay and very thorough. The cleaning staff were very friendly as were all the staff we encountered on our stay . We ate in the restaurant down on the beach , breakfast was included and it very good . Choice of fruit , yoghurt cakes and scones ( cheese ones were delicious) . Bacon , sausage and local breakfast . There was someone on the egg station to cook your eggs how ever you wanted . Fresh juice and pots of tea or coffee ( coffee very good ) . We ate and drank at the restaurant a lot and the service was always very good , food came quickly and large portions . The drinks were very reasonable £6 for a G&T and the same for Rum punch . Happy hour made it even better value . The view from the restaurant is lively with a chilled out vibe in the afternoon . If you want more up beat vibes you are a five minute walk to the gap . We also enjoyed La Roy for sunset drinks which is 2/3 minutes away . The supermarket on site has water / snacks or sandwiches if you don’t want to eat in the restaurant for lunch again very reasonable priced £3 . We would definitely return to this hotel as we also got married there and it was perfect . Thank you Divi Staff .
Beatiful hotel in an ideal location, on The Gap and the beach. Rooms are spotless and realy well arranged with separate lounge and bedroom. Hotel staff and very friendly and approachable and nothing is too much trouble. We have stayed in this area before but previous hotels didn't match Divi. Highly recommended
Main pool is lovely really nice temperature and not over crowded. Other pools small. All staff ever so friendly. Location perfect in the heart of The Gap but hotel rooms set back so you can't hear any of the nightlife. Massive bed and double sofa bed. Wesley the main taxi driver is the nicest guy ever. Bus stop right outside. Took just over an hour to walk to Miami Beach. Took 2.5 hours to walk to Mount Gay Visitors Centre. Both walks ensure you see lots of beaches. Little supermarket in town and bigger one out of town. Cash point in town but I'd recommend going Sagicor in Worthing as their fees are miniscule. 30 mins hotel room available for you after you have checked out to freshen up for the flight. The odd scheduled activity was on but generally speaking most scheduled activities didn't seen to happen. 700 USD holding deposit on card.
Nice accommodation in a convenient location. Has all the facilities for self catering or add your meals if you prefer. Rooms are spacious and clean. Frequent local taxis available right outside the front gate which can take you to either Bridgetown or Oistins. The beach though has strong waves. You may want to travel slightly further up for a more calmer beach with gentle waves.
Very clean and tidy rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. I also left my dyson in the room and the staff who was scheduled for room service found it and got it to me. Close to airport and other amenities on the island.
The resort seems quite old but is well maintained with good facilities. We only stayed one night on a layover and did not want to spend much while but still having beach amenities. This is quite difficult in Barbados. We booked through Expedia which was cheaper and allowed a stay of only one night as many sites require a minimum stay of several days in high season. The cheapest option was a garden room which looked out over the front lawn and the road in the distance. It was more of an apartment than a room as it had a full kitchen (normal sized cooker with oven, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, blender) within the living area (large tv, sofa), breakfast bar type seating for 4, and a separate bedroom (another large tv). Although our stay was short, the staff were helpful. On our last day there was no late check out available but we were able to reserve use of a courtesy room to have a shower and change before going to the airport for an evening flight. They offer 30 minute slots and the service is free. We could also use all other facilities the day of checking out. Note that the reception, main pool and most of the room
Love Divi why? The staff are the best! Kind, funny and helpful! Grounds are beautifully kept.
I only had lunch one time at the restaurant.
The pull out bed I slept on was not too comfortable. It was a party of 3 staying at the room. Two on the bed and one on the couch.
The Divi resort offers a very pleasant stay with plenty of room at the resort, excellent pools and sun shades. Rooms are very comfortable and well serviced by house keeping. All staff are very friendly and helpful.Pure Ocean restaurant is well served with good food and keen prices. Would recommend this resort as away from main road and quite with it's own private beach.
Very dated hotel charging top dollar, the most unhelpful reception staff I have encountered. The grounds are better maintained that the rooms .It's seems that the place is poorly run and not interested in helping.people allowed to reserve sunbeds on the beach all day without using them a no one is interested.I would definitely avoid at all cost .
Good pool areas
Service shocking Bed was terrible a big lump in the middle ! Only clean 2 times a week! The $50 surcharge to get access before 4 pm is crazy ! This is NOT covid ! Employee sone staff!
We rented a 2 bedroom suite for our family of five. We had so much space! Loved the location (on the beach, so close to restaurants, right on the bus route) and loved having so many pool options. The staff were very friendly and everything was clean. My main critique: the pool towel situation was unnecessarily stressful!! Not what I wanted from my holiday. On check-in we were given 5 cards and each could be turned in for a towel… and then at the end of the day we could turn the towel in for a card. On check out we were required to return 5 cards or be charged $$ for lost towels. I found this very anxiety provoking!!! Anyways overall would recommend.
Had the most amazing time at Divi Southwinds hotel, great location can walk for miles, and easy reach to the Gap and restaurants, and lovely beaches. Hotel was very clean, pools lovely and many sunbeds to choose from.
We had a fantastic stay at the Divi southwinds beach resort. Been to Barbados twice before in all inclusive resorts. But for us this was so much better. The staff were so nice & friendly, always got a good morning/afternoon off every one. A special big shout out to Shernada at the front desk, Brilliant service throughout our stay. Thank you. Also Akiel a massive Thank you for sorting our trip to the caves.I feel he went the extra mile in doing that. Thank you Akiel. Also to Kensha the Eggcellent breakfast chef. always so friendly, that girl can certainly multitask in cooking eggs. Thank you too. Our room had a garden view, which was so good, you can see the monkeys in the morning & early evening as well as the beautiful birds. The room was very spacious, had a separate bedroom with a large bed, walk in shower, Aircon & fans as well as a separate living area , well equipped kitchen, kettle, large fridge freezer, that produces ice,4 hobs. There are also 2 massive TVs in both rooms, some English channels, but you can login to netflix & Amazon prime if needed. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here & would 100% return in the future. Thank you again to all the staff.
Just spent 3 nights here following a Marella cruise and we could not fault it. We were on a B&B basis and ate breakfast at the pure ocean restaurant, which was very pleasant. The rooms are a little dated but they are clean and comfortable, having a kitchen and lounge area with a separate bedroom. All the staff were lovely, friendly, polite and professional. The grounds are maintained to a very high standard. The location is spot on, just across from the beach. I would definitely recommend and return. Thank you, keep up the good work everyone at Divi Southwinds, you are a credit to the company.
Stayed at Southwinds for 3 nights following our 7 night Marella Cruise. Southwinds exceeded our expectations & allowed to chill & relax after the cruise. Rooms/apartments are spacious, bed are comfortable & pillows are extra soft. The apartment has a kitchen too, which was ideal as we booked bed & breakfast so we bought snacks for the fridge. The overall aspect of Divi Southwinds is fantastic - beautiful gardens, lovely warm pool with seating in, so we could sunbathe & keep cool. Breakfast is served across the road at the end of the complex which is beachfront. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you for your hospitality Southwinds
Great pools, no rush to grab a lounger in the morning, comfy bed, good shower, excellent location right in the middle of The Gap. The crazy golf course was superb! Gardens were large and well kept.
Bar was expensive so no-one really used it. Pure Ocean restaurant was just ok. Apartment was a bit tired in places. Felt it was expensive for what it was but worth paying the extra for pool/garden view.
Location, pool and gardens the staff
The only thing was the accommodation was a bit tired, but it didn't affect our holiday
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, always ready to assist with anything needed. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it easy to relax after a long day. The location was also very convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and amenities. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I look forward to visiting again!
We only stayed here for one night but we were very happy with everything. The reception staff were lovely and helpful, the rooms were large and very comfy, the grounds were immaculate and it was a hop skip and a jump from the beach.
Everything was very nice.
I like that the property was in close proximity to everything! Walking distance from the beaches and restaurants!
We had a big group which required more towels and rags than what was given, upon asking for more, the staff was giving us a hard time. Also, the security guards were always sleep upon returning to the property.
Location was great in the St. Lawrence Gap - great restaurants for dinner in the evening. On main road so was easy to use the local transportation to the grocery store, etc. We like the independent living in your own little apartment and using our own kitchen facilities for breakfast and lunch and then eating out in the evening. The resort very much fits our relaxed lifestyle!
Not much to dislike. We like the fact it is not an all-inclusive resort.
We stayed at the Divi South Winds complex for 2 weeks in Feb 2026. The unit we stayed in was a little dated but otherwise very clean and comfortable. The staff are excellent, all around. The grounds are kept in excellent condition and the amenities (pools, pickleball courts, mini-golf, etc.) are wonderful. The workout room is a little underwhelming. Dover beach is about 150 m from the building. It is a beautiful beach. The complex is close to a number of restaurants and other attractions. It took about 20 minutes to walk to the local grocery store.
We have just returned from a weeks stay here and we absolutely loved it! We have two children (5) & (2) and they did not want to come home! The grounds are immaculate - you will always find someone cleaning/tidying! There are 3 pools we absolutely loved the one by the beach and spent most of our time there as it was always so quiet! You can spot turtles swimming in the ocean every day and the views are incredible. The beach is so perfect, clean and my children loved crab spotting on the rocks. There are monkeys roaming round the hotel too! There is also mini golf, a play park and other activities for children - which is all included. We had breakfast included which is a buffet situated at the ocean breeze restaurant on the beach - absolutely breathtaking views every morning! The staff there are all so kind, friendly and lovely with the children. The rooms are apartment style with a kitchen - they are dated but have everything you need. The sofa bed had seen better days and could do with an upgrade! The location is brilliant just a few minutes walk to all the restaurants, cafes and bars on The Gap - we especially loved Mimosa’s! We used the “pick up Barbados” app for taxis (just like Uber) which was super handy and reliable to get to where we needed. The only downsides I would say is they do not help with your luggge on arrival or departure or show you to your room which I hadn’t experienced anywhere else before… we also only had our room cleaned once in the week we were there, however they do drop off towels every day. We would definitely return! Thanks for a lovely stay!
Just spent 2 wonderful weeks here with friends. Absolutely great location, facilities and Staff. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The staff are great, attentive and very friendly. The rooms and grounds are kept really well and constantly being cleaned. The pool is great. I have also never been to a resort where getting a sunbed around a pool or on the beach is no problem, always some free. The location is great for local restaurants, though be sure to book to be safe. Michelle Lasanta and Joshua Reed
Highly recommend Divi Southwinds Excellent resort, had more than we expected, the beach was amazing subbed and umbrella FOC Food grounds pools atmosphere was perfect
The Divi Southwinds exceeded my expectations and that is very hard to do. I found the property to be exceptional in terms of friendly and helpful staff, meticulous grounds and pool keeping and amenities. The location of the Divi is perfect being right in the heart of St. Lawrence Gap and close to many bars and fabulous restaurants. The beach is very well kept and we never had to scramble for a prime spot or loungers no matter what time of day. The bar staff at Pureocean were attentive, polite and efficient. All of the staff went out of their way to make our stay more comfortable. The rooms are great. I read other reviews saying the rooms are "tired". I would say barely. They are well equipped with everything you need in a small kitchen and the bed was extremely comfortable. Bathroom was perfect with rain shower and the entire unit was spotlessly clean upon arrival. We enjoyed fresh towels each day. The value for money at the Divi Southwinds was the thing I noted the most. When all factors are combined, this property hits a homerun. I can't wait to return. Special mention to Junior at the beach who is a gentleman who is happy to set up your loungers and umbrella for you anywhere you choose. The only hitch was an ignorant loud mouth American who yelled at Junior in front of all the guests about not getting the service he expected. This moron should note how many British and Canadian tourists there are in Barbados and keep his mouth shut. Another embarrassing representative of the U.S.
We had a wonderful week at this hotel for the second year running. Situated in an ideal location on St Lawrence Gap with fine eateries. We book bed and breakfast only as it makes for a good evening out eating at one of the many fine restaurants in the evening. The beach with plenty of sunbeds and parasols which are free offers a wonderful day in the sunshine.
Recently stayed here and to start with the grounds are kept pristine with staff working on them daily, the beach area is also kept very clean and also a bonus of having free sunbeds for staying guests. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was more than adequate for what we needed, these have an open plan kitchen and living room as well as 2 balconies. The pool is a nice area but we only used it once as spent most of our time on the beach. There are 2 bars, the Pure Ocean on the beach is very nice, the Bajan bar near the pool is very quiet and a bit of a waste of a big space in my opinion.
This hotel is in a great location and has beautiful grounds with plenty of options to sit and swim. All the pools were very clean and quiet. All the staff are very nice and polite. The room is lovely, with a big bed and great shower with plenty of hot water. We did not eat at the restaurant, but it is super convenient for plenty of bars and cafes to eat at. We had a fantastic time and would recommend this hotel to everyone. Easy to catch the bus outside the hotel and we went to Holetown for a couple of hours.
Positives….We had a King Suite Pool View on the top floor. Great view over pool and large gardens with glimpses of the sea. Suite was nice, just needed a kitchen refit. Large bed, good shower, nice furniture. Excellent location in the centre of The Gap for bars and restaurants. Mini golf course on site is excellent. Played many rounds! Negatives…. It’s quite expensive, the bar is hardly used as it’s expensive. Order your free ‘arrival’ rum punch before you let them know you have a voucher (it’s a size thing!). Pure Ocean breakfast is good but there are much better cheaper options nearby. All hangers in wardrobe broken. Toaster broken. Wardrobe door didn’t slide shut. We were there in school term time but there were still quite a few kids screeching in the pool. The morning aquacise classs is the most low key, boring, pointless thing I’ve seen … but it attracts lots of local ladies of a certain age! Would we stay again? Maybe, it’s in a great location, it feels very spacious, plenty of room round the pool etc and the mini golf was a definite bonus!
This was our second visit and probably not our last. Great location: 5 minute walk from the Gap restaurants cluster, 2 minutes from the sea and right on the main bus route. Sea and pool options excellent. Good, comfortable room with kitchen that enables self catering. Excellent quick response maintenance. Friendly staff. We were able to book a late check out which pretty much gave us an extra day to enjoy. Downsides: poor wi-fi: late check out only bookable on morning of departure: no recycling.
The staff at the Divi are wonderful had an issue with toilet 1st day they had it fixed in minutes great service . I asked Tyrone if it was possible to get the Canada vs Swiss Olympic game on the TV at the pool bar they worked on finding a feed online for about 45 mins and found it They are great , Darian at the bar closed at 6 and gave me the converter and just said turn off when over Wonderful friendly service
We decided on a few days R and R after a cruise and arrived promptly to the hotel to find the room not ready for 2 hours of which the reception apologised ok these things happen. We proceeded to the bar for drinks where we found staff more intent on watching the ssuperbowl on tv than serving us , this set the benchmark for the rest of the week Having been to the Caribbean before and found the people welcoming and free to help this was the polar opposite some staff were lazy and as if it was a real chore for them to do anything to the extent if you stood at the bar they would beckon you to where they were in order to serve you We went to collect beach towels on first morning only to be told they were still in the dryer come back later ! All without any eye contact or looking up from his phone Breakfast was also hard work asking 3 or 4 times for coffee and as they sloped off to get it they would return 5 to 10 minutes later without any milk or cups which would then take another few minutes 😳 Reception were ok but sometimes abrupt an forgetful to say the least One person who needs a mention was the fella on sunbed duty didn’t get his name but he was polite helpful and always had a smile for us and a cheerful good morning also discarded any towels that had been on beds too long to let people who were going to use them sit down a man after my own 👍
Rooms bit dated but fully equipped if you want to do your own catering beds we’re comfy, pool area good, grounds really well looked after Breakfast wasn’t the best so opted for coffee and toast and fruit most mornings , some of the young staff were a bit miserable and not very attentive Beach is lovely free beds and umbrella for guests Happy hour on the beach but check your receipts they have a habit of forgetting that it’s happy hour . Location is great for bars /restaurants in the heart of the gap with good access to local buses Overall would definitely go back
Perfect location on St Lawrence Gap, lots of bars and places to eat a stroll away, staff all very friendly , will return for sure
Really lovely hotel - beautiful spacious grounds, big pool for morning lengths and aquarobic exercise classes, beautiful beach, rooms are like little suites where if you want you can cook rather than eat out. The position ( on the Gap) is perfect for a little night life and the resort is lovingly maintained by a team of gardeners and cleaners. The staff are absolutely wonderful - warm, friendly, funny and totally professional. Now we’ve discovered Divi we wouldn’t go anywhere else - and we’ve stayed in some really expensive places in Barbados. Divi is incredible value for money, perfectly positioned and is a friendly, relaxed and lovely environment.
We recently returned from a 7 day stay at Divi Southwinds Beach Resort Barbados. It's perfectly located in St Lawrence Gap with access to beautiful Dover Beach. The PureOcean restaurant is located directly on the beach giving the most amazing view of the sea whilst eating a delicious breakfast and served by the most helpful and attentive staff of any restaurant I've had the pleasure to stay in! A hot 'egg' station serving them any which way you please. The ambience is just perfect with music playing to tap your feet to as you ease yourself into your day. We chose pool view rooms (after a previous stay we decided they'd be ideal for the group) our balcony looked out over the pristine gardens that are professionally tended to on a daily basis. The gardening staff work tirelessly to maintain the beautiful gardens which are home to activities including 9 hole mini golf, tennis court and children's playground. The pool view rooms are equivalent to a one bedroom apartment with full kitchen facilities, pull out sofa bed in the lounge area and a breakfast bar (or table and chairs) I felt the location, standard of accommodation, hotel facilities and friendliness of all of the staff, make Divi Southwinds excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend stretching your budget to include breakfast, it really sets you up for the day! I would recommend choosing Divi for a perfect holiday experience and I will be back!!
Nice Beach location with great view, umbrellas, and chase lounges. Separate fresh water pools and activity center. Clean pleasant place to stay.
Great location right on the beach and in the heart of the gap. Very quiet never a problem for sunbeds Grounds immaculate. Rooms very clean, massive beds and very comfortable Great value for money in Barbados.
The location of the property is perfect. Plenty of restaurants and bars easy walking distance away. The room, the beach and beach restaurant were excellent. The staff everywhere but the front desk were excellent and showed excellent friendly and inviting island hospitality.
The front desk clerks really need a course in hospitality. Besides the gentleman working the front desk, the ladies appeared annoyed, uncaring and unwilling to do anything beyond the posted hotel guidelines. There was on in particular with the initials of MM who really needs additional training on excellent customer service.
Great location. Clean. The staff was overall friendly and accommodating. Manager was very helpful when we needed to extend a day.
Fantastic holiday at Divi . Hotel grounds are amazing . Staff work so hard to maintain them. Kitchens could do with updating but are adequate , otherwise rooms fab . Pure Ocean provide a relaxing setting for any meal , staff are amazing & so friendly . Food always good . Reception staff let the hotel down, found them quite rude & certainly not helpful .
Well kept. Great location.
Overpriced breakfast buffet.
Appreciated the consideration of the General Manager and the Reception staff in resolving any challenges and maximizing my enjoyment of the property. The Resort location is excellent for travelling to Bridgetown and connecting to various part of the island including Oistins Fish Fry on Friday nights; and the environment is lovely and restful. To make it more attractive - just add at least two (2) hot tubs to complement the pool, and update the rooms, as necessary:)
My husband and I stayed for our 3rd visit, we like the location and facilities, always a sun lounger, 3 pools to choose from. Room dated but clean and towels refreshed daily. Breakfast not the best value. But convenient. For us it’s all about location, pools and beach chairs !
Our group of 4 (all seniors) had a great time for 9 days at this resort. The location is perfect. Just a short walk to many restaurants. The pool area and grounds are very well kept and lovely. We enjoyed the mini golf on site, as well as the water exercise classes 4 times per week. In spite of it being so close to restaurants etc, it was very quiet and peaceful. The staff throughout the resort are lovely to deal with. They really go out of their way to make your stay extra special. It’s true that the rooms need some upgrading and refreshing, but everything else is so wonderful, we wouldn’t hesitate to return.
