The staff were so amazingly friendly.

Our family loved the relaxed vibe of this boutique hotel. The grounds are beautiful. The onsite restaurant is excellent for lunch or dinner and the breakfast buffet is substantial. We loved the added touches of a fruit basket for the room! The staff are super lovely. The spa whilst slightly more expensive than other options is excellent also. Several local options within walking distance for meals makes this hotel an great choice.

Candidasa was beautiful. While the ocean was under conservation efforts, you can access a little bit next-door. Still, there’s a beautiful pool with the sounds of the ocean as a backdrop. meals are taken in the upstairs restaurant where you can see the ocean. Rooms are good size and feel private. It’s a pretty property. There are good restaurants nearby as well. It’s far enough from the main road to not hear traffic. The hotel transports you to Virgin Beach and it’s perfect there. The staff was very nice.

Bett war mir persönlich etwas zu weich. Derzeit wegen Bau der Promenade kein Zugang zum Strand ( dass war aber bekannt und wegen des Tauchens auch kein Problem).

If you're looking for a resort with a "traditional" Balinese feel, this resort would be a great choice. First and foremost, the service from all the staff is fantastic. Special thanks to Suledra, who is responsible for the grounds and gardens, he took me on a private hike to the Temple at the top of the nearby mountain. Also, thank you for the kindest service from Mudana, Sriata, Sukarya, Aryarthi, Mahdi, Purenami, the massage team, and all the staff who made our stay amazing from the time we arrived to the moment we left. Secondly, the grounds and gardens are beautiful, the traditional food and drinks are tops. The rooms are spacious, albeit, somewhat dated - but, again, they preserve a traditional feel which we very much appreciated. The resort has events though out the week that can help you learn about their culture. There is a dive shop next door, and the resort is located within walking distance to many local restaurants, spa's, and shops. We highly recommend Puri Bagus if you are looking for a traditional experience.

Sehr schönes Hotel mit perfektem Bali-Feeling und mit angeschlossenem Orca-Divecenter. Für den gebotenen Standard ist das Preis-Leistungs -Verhältnis super. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und engagiert. Ein Highlight ist der sehr geschmackvoll gestaltete Spa-Bereich und auch den direkt am Strand befindlichen Pool fand ich sehr schön. Die Zimmer sind großzügig mit sehr bequemen Betten und mit einem teilweise nach oben offenen Bad. Man duscht unter freiem Himmel, wie in vielen Resorts auf Bali. Das Tauchcenter ist für Taucher und Schnorchler sehr empfehlenswert. Leider war der Strand im März 2026 wegen eines umfangreichen Renovierungsprojekts der Regierung eine Baustelle. Das Hotel hat dies direkt bei der Buchung offen kommuniziert und bemüht sich nach Kräften, den Gästen trotzdem einen schönen Aufenthalt zu gewährleisten. U.a wird ein kostenloser Shuttleservice zum sehr schönen Virgin-Beach angeboten (ca. 20-25min Fahrt) . Auch ein kostenloses Zimmer-Upgrade war möglich. Die Bauarbeiten sollen demnächst abgeschlossen sein, aktuelle Informationen finden sich im Internet.

Das aktuelle Bauprojekt am Strand ist nicht optimal. Mich hat die Baustelle aber kaum gestört, da ich viel u.a. zum Tauchen unterwegs war und der Pool uneingeschränkt nutzbar war.

De rust, ruimte en het enorm vriendelijke personeel. Kijk, veel mensen klagen over dat Bali te druk is en te modern geworden, verpest door massa toerisme. Niks van dat alles is op Candidasa van toepassing. Een rustig kabbelend dorpje zonder poespas. Als je rust zoekt en authenticiteit, dan zul je dat hier vinden. De tuin is prachtig, de mensen lief, de prijs heel laag. Kresna en zijn team zetten alles op alles om je welkom te voelen.

De rust en authenticiteit die je hier vindt heeft ook een keerzijde. Het hotel is echt heel authentiek Balinees, je vindt dus niet alleen het Bali van 20 jaar terug in Candidasa, maar de tijd heeft in het hotel ook twintig jaar stil gestaan. Sommige mensen kunnen genieten van de authentieke huisjes, maar voor de moderne reiziger zullen de kapotte plavuizen vloeren, de kieren overal, het gebrek aan onderhoud en de weinige styling, de harde ouderwetse bedden en ongedierte hier en daar toch wat twijfels oproepen. Het zou enorm helpen als de huisjes een lik verf krijgen, een nieuw lekker bed, een mooie houten vloer en wat modernere meubels. Dan kan het resort nog jaren mee voor rustzoekers.

Nice spot. Easy walk to anywhere you wanted to go. Free shuttle to town was great in the heat.

OMG everything. I've been staying here on my trips to Bali, over the last 20yrs. It is paradise, the staff are beautiful and caring. It's the perfect place to unwind.

Buitengewoon vriendelijk. Wij kregen zomaar een update naar een bungalow dichterbij het strand. Omdat we onze reisplannen hadden gewijzigd, vertrokken we eerder dan gepland. De manager was hier heel meegaand in en bood een uitgebreide massage aan, welke fantastisch was. Ook de ontbijt box welke wij meekregen bij onze vroege vertrek was perfect!

Relaxing and peaceful location in Bali. Rooms very generous size, staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and are incredibly warm amd friendly. Loved the spa and restaurant, prices are great and local cuisine is sensational. Walking distance to town with plenty of other options for dining out nearby. I would definately go back!

Villas are good. The pool was also good with enough sunbeds for the number of guests. Attentive staff who like to greet you by name. Lovely views from hotel over ocean. Beach is busy with fishing boats and dive/snorkelling boats each morning. Great spa - although a little expensive.

Menu could be better. Often only had Balinese wine available - occasionally only one bottle of cheap Australian red wine. Food at buffet breakfast usually only slightly warm. Restaurant not in the same league as the one at Candi beach resort. Bed was two king singles pushed together with two mattresses rather than one kingsize mattress. It would be nice to have a Netflix account linked to the TV. Wi-Fi can be very slow in the villas. Often had to go to the reception to download something. Deep pool that has a sign that says no diving. It would be nice if this rule was enforced by all passing staff.

Das Hotel wurde 1989 erbaut und seit dem nicht mehr ordentlich renoviert worden - im Bad ist alles vergilbt! Es gibt nicht mal einen Strand am Hotel, an dem man richtig im Meer schwimmen kann, obwohl das Hotel direkt am Wasser liegt. Schade, dass in der wunderschönen Yogahalle kaum Yoga angeboten wird.

Great location, super friendly staff, decent size (and deep) pool and a dive school attached to iit with direct access to the Tepekong dive sites. Excellent!

Das Resort ist schon etwas älter , dieses spiegelt sich in den Zimmern wider . Möbel aus älterer Zeit , die Matratze durchgelegen . Hat zwar direkte Lage am Meer aber schwimmen kann man hier nicht außer im Pool . Das Frühstücksbuffet könnte mehr Auswahl sein für ein Resort .

Ligging buiten de drukte aan zee. Strand kan niet gebruikt worden, dat is er gewoon niet. Villa's gedateerd maar wel authentiek. Airco OK. Douche is in de gedeeltelijke open lucht. Het is verder Indonesisch schoon: ze vegen wel, maar overal randjes. Kaart restaurant goed, eten lekker. Wijnkaart uitgebreid qua aantal benoemde wijnen, echter slechts de locaal gevinificeerdecwijnen beschikbaar. Geen feest. Receptie meer dan behulpzaam, ook voor verhuur scooters van extern bedrijf 150k/ dag. Terrasje voor huisje erg fijn. Hadden om ventilator gevraagd tegen muggen en voor koelte, stond er meteen.

The location is great and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean and the kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool. We'd certainly recommend Puri Bagus to anyone wanting to stay in Candidasa.

Bardzo fajny kameralny hotel z pyszną kuchnią i przemiłą obsługą. Fajna strefa basenowa z widokiem na morze. Plaży co prawda nie ma takiej jak z widokówek ale dla chętnych można śmiało skorzystać. Śniadania dobre (topowe jajka, wędlina, pieczywo, warzywa etc.) każdy znajdzie coś dla siebie. W restauracji podawane są bardzo dobre dania kuchni indonezyjskiej oraz międzynarodowej. Pokoje a w zasadzie domki to nic innego jak jeden pokój z częścią gdzie można dostawić dostawkę dla dziecka oraz łazienka z otwartym prysznicem. Standard pokoi jest zadawalający (widać ząb czasu) nam to jednak nie przeszkadzało.

Everything! From the warm welcome we received, the beautiful grounds, lovely clean room overlooking the ocean, delicious food and of course the very attentive friendly staff. Especially Wayan who made sure we had everything we needed, he set up our bale for us, took drink orders while we were relaxing and helped my partner who had injured his ankle before we arrived. He made our experience of Puri Bagus very special.

Puri bliss! What a beautiful and tranquil place. Excellent hotel, staff, services, amenities and food. Large, comfy rooms. Just on the edge of Candidasa, surrounded by mountains, jungles and turqoise blue water. Relax by the lovely pool, or in a beachside cabana. We had everything we wanted, and more. Including a groovy, motorbike rental! I highly recommend this resort. Tell them Mr. Chris sent you. :-)

This hotel has an excellent spa, a beautiful pool and ocean side covered lounges, a delicious free breakfast and, most of all, staff who make an effort to learn your name & help you in any way possible. We went to yoga and Balinese dancing classes & loved the creations made from towels & fresh flowers in our room every day.

Bathroom open to the sky so you have to lock your bathroom door when away or sleeping. You can also hear the neighbors in the bathroom and on the toilet. The pool is designed for dive classes and is very deep. No very beautiful compared to other places. The beach is small on dirty.

Good location for snorkelling right out front and renting a boat to snorkel out at the islands. The layout of the resort was good especially the elevated dining area giving views out to sea and the nearby Islands. The staff were always smiling and always happy to help, nothing was too much trouble from hotel manager to grounds maintenance, all were genuinely happy to meet, greet and stop for a chat.

Fourth trip to Bali, second stay at Puri Bagus. Returned for many reasons. Candidasa is away from the crazy crowds. Beautiful setting. Staff is wonderful. Easy access to activities. My other stays have been at yoga lodges. While they were nice, they were isolated. To visit another restaurant required hiring a driver. At Puri Bagus it’s an easy walk to Candidasa where there are restaurants, shops, ATMs and other services. Grounds are well kept. Patios are a nice place to relax after a day of activities. Rooms are clean, not overly fancy but spacious. Baths could use a little update, but they’re still the cleanest bathrooms I encountered on the island (you will appreciate a clean bathroom as you travel around). Would go back in a heartbeat.

The hotel is located at the end of the village, quiet and a 10 minute walk to other facilities. It has a beautiful and relaxing sea view. Staff are very interested and helpful.

The staff are amazing, they knew us by name and made sure we had everything we wanted. The room was beautiful, Balanise style, with an outdoor shower and beutiful ceiling. The location was fantastic right on the ocean with a very nice beach but also boats that would take us out to the reef nearby to snorkel. Truly wonderful experience.

The hotel is situated about 500-800 metres from lots of other smaller hotels, restaurants and shops, all within easy walking distance for Happy Hour cocktails. The view from the hotel breakfast room is just gorgeous and we loved the small shaded beach open cabanas right on the beachfront and looking towards Nusa Penida. Nice shower open to the sky in a very decent-sized bathroom and the rooms are spacious. Gardens huge and well-kept. It's terrific for a relaxing week.

The meals at the open restaurant were a bit on the bland side - or perhaps just what we chose. The mattresses in some of the cabanas are probably due for replacement but we accept that so many places are still recovering after such long lockdowns.

The whole place needs some serious investments/maintenance, especially the common areas - lobby and the breakfast area/restaurant. The breakfast buffet looked just sad, food was there but it didn’t look encouraging. The cleanness of the area was also not up to a 4star standards. The pool area looked slightly sad too, umbrellas were not out, sun beds not out, mattresses not out, but we could see them piled up in the storage. Even-though the hotel advertises yoga classes several times a week, there was nothing complementary available for the hotel guests. no real beach

Puri Bagus is a beautiful small resort with wonderful staff and views! The small beach area is not clean, like most beaches in Bali. The property directly in front of the resort is kept clean and maintained. The pool is perfectly positioned to provide great views. The pool and the area around the pool are kept clean and lovely. The flowers and plants on the property are beautiful. The spa is wonderful! 2 massages in a week at the spa....perfection! The town of Candidasa is small, walkable, friendly and provides restaurant and shopping choices.

Staff was corteous but not as welcoming as in their sister property in Puri Bagus Lovina. Also food was better in PB Lovina.

Like many Bali resorts this one is recovering from Covid. The staff are Bali-sweet, the villas are private, the beach is 20 steps away. Loved the raised platforms over the beach for morning meditation or evening glass of wine,

Many of the older (this one is 32 years old) need cosmetic upgrades but that doesn’t take away from the staff, the location, and the privacy.

The washrooms had an open air plan which made noise travel from other rooms. Felt like there was very little privacy.

Very good! I would recommend and go back. In my next visit I would love to see more effort (and/or communication) made around sustainable practises (water recuperation, solar panel, less plastic in the bathroom, ...) and where does the food come from (does this hotel support local farming?) and if it is organic.

We went for new years eve and stayed 6 nights. They had a new years eve party which was nice. The food was good and they had a decent band. The ground are beautiful and the owner interacts with the guests. The food at the restaurant is great and the drinks are ok. I had plenty of cocktails and didnt get sick from them so they must use bottled water for ice. My only real complaint is the room has an outside shower and partly covered bathroom which shares the walls of 3 other bathrooms. I didnt love this feature as you get to hear your neighbors use the toliet when brushing your teeth. I got quite sick one night from eating off the resort and felt bad for my neighbors having to hear me. Because its outside it appears dirty due to weathering. This is the best hotel in the area and you will have a good time if you go there but its not a 5 star hotel. 5 star view and 5 star grounds

It was my first time in Bali and in Asia in general. I must first say that my experience in Bali was centred around this breath taking hotel. I am a fond traveller and have stayed in many hotels including the Hilton and many 5 star resorts but Puri Bagus Candidasa has to be the best resort I have ever stayed in. Candidasa Is a gem and has to be one of the best areas to stay in Bali, far better than the touristy locations such as Kuta or Ubud. Upon arriving we were welcomed by the warmest smile and the coolest drink (which was necessary due to the warm heat in Bali) we were dealt with very swiftly as the hotel could tell we had travelled a lot and took us directly to our room. The cleanliness of the room and the whole resort in general was surreal. The room was well equipped with everything and very spacious, no problem at all with all bugs or WiFi as the hotel was very on top with all of this. The breakfast provided by the hotel was at all levels exceeding my expectations, they had a very wide variety to cater to all sorts of people. From European food right down to traditional Indonesian food. The staff were very accommodating at breakfast and spoke perfect English. The hotel had many activities available such as yoga, snorkelling, boat trips, massages and many others at an amazing rate, the hotel pool was located right next to the beach and looked beautiful. The managers were always available to speak to and listened with genuine care when you conversed with them. The hotel

The best thing about this place is the staff, all friendly, all helpful Wifi was sometimes a bit iffy in the villa but good enough elsewhere.
