Breakfast was delicious!

Stayed at Residence Inn by Marriott Markham from July 19 to July 21, 2026 (Room 121), and unfortunately the experience was far below expectations. I am a frequent hotel guest and an IHG member, so I have experience with different hotel brands and understand the level of service and amenities that guests should expect. Unfortunately, this stay did not provide the quality or value expected from a property under the Marriott name. The rooms are very outdated and clearly in need of renovation. Our three-room suite had one of the worst views possible, facing a wall, with bunch of heat pumps equipments directly in front of our rooms in the suite. This was extremely disappointing and made the room feel poorly located. The breakfast experience was another major issue. Some of the staff working around the breakfast area were unfriendly and not welcoming. The breakfast options were limited, and the waffle station was a serious problem. It took us 30 minutes or more just to make a waffle, while breakfast ends at 9:30 AM. For families travelling with kids, this makes it almost impossible to enjoy breakfast without rushing. I was also surprised that housekeeping is not provided daily. This was inconvenient and not something I expected without clearer communication. In addition, there were no complimentary water bottles provided in the room. The only option to get water was to purchase it, which is something I have never encountered at a hotel of this level. Overall, this was not good value for the money. The outdated rooms, disappointing view, limited breakfast options, unfriendly breakfast service, lack of basic amenities, and housekeeping policy made this stay very disappointing. I hope management reviews this feedback and takes steps to improve the guest experience.

Sofa bed was uncomfortable. I felt the springs in my ribs. The room had a strong odor.

The location, the clean room, the great breakfast and the swimming pool.

The pull out couch was not comfortable, mattress was very thin, it has springs missing to hold it up and was not sturdy. The hot tub was not open

Never got to the breakfast so no idea on quality. Hotel is having some maintenance and hot tub is out. Could use some wear and tear issues addressed. Checked in and front desk said they were sold out when I asked about a room switch, they weren't sold out but whatever I won't be back so no biggie

AC didn't work well. 1 ice machine in the staff area.

Room waa wonderful

Simply perfect! We only stayed one night as we were going to a concert in town. The service was friebdly and impeccable, the room super confortable and clean and the breakfast amazing

We had a 2BR suite so had lots of room. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Plenty of parking. Employees were nice. Lots of restaurants in close proximity including a few Tim Hortons. Breakfast was good except I wish there was peanut butter and would have preferred real bacon or sausage rather than the Canadian bacon and turkey/veggie sausage (one of the 3 days did have real sausage). The other breakfast choices were good and there was plenty of seating. It was about 25 minutes from Toronto but a good alternative if you’d rather stay out of the city but in a nice area with restaurants.

the room is designed reasonably and user-friendly. the hotel is closed to restaurants. generally a relaxing stay in it.

The staff was very nice, helpful and friendly. Check in and check out was very easy and convenient. We enjoyed our in suite stay at Residence Inn. Definitely recommend this hotel for a nice and cozy stay.

It is clean, good service, room large!

Excellent accommodations overall. A couple staff whom I encountered could stand to improve their customer service skills. The maintenance staff member was very friendly and helpful and that made up for it.

Nice room with full amenities, but had to walk to another hotel for the bar, and the bar wasn’t serving coffee after dinner

My family and I had a nice time at this hotel. Special shoutout to the kitchen staff, especially Raymond and the front desk staff Himashi (hope I got it right), for making our stay very hospitable. The amenities were good and staff were nice and willing to help.

Was here for concert. Place was easy to access and has parking. Room was clean and spacious. Big fridge and kitchenette. Worth for the price and for small family.

The room smelled so strongly of garlic, there was hair in the shower. People tailgating in the parking lot.

Went in late June for kids' sports tournament. Management is very strict about noise, so the place was surprisingly quiet at night - no rowdiness in the halls. Close to a huge restaurant complex for food. Has L2 chargers for electric vehicles. Pool was closed (due to customer incident, not hotel), but seemed nice. Rooms quite spacious.

Great place to stay with a family! Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite for family of 5.Clean and great service. Provided a crib for my little one. Enjoyed our stay! 😁

Best in everything

The room is nice. We were not told that there is no housekeeping to clean our room daily at check in. There are no notice in our room to let us know that housekeeping daily is by request only. We had wet towels and trash in our room. The night time front desk manager was quite rude when we asked for clean towels one day when we came back to the hotel late.

The room was spacious and amenities in the room were great for travelling with a family. The only thing is that the bath tub was super slippery for showers. Besides that, breakfast was great, staff was friendly, room was clean and quiet.

The cleaning lady locked my cat in a room for over 8hrs. I get that she wanted to clean the rest of the room, but open the door when you leave. My cat had her litter box, but didn’t have access to her food and water during that time

Safe and very convenient for business travel

No help with heavy luggages, limited trollies and trollies are small. Breakfast is limited. Cant get basic real Butter- its processed.

Had a great stay, clean, great staff, exactly what's we needed for a longer short term stay. Delicious breakfast, pool and gym access. Highly recommend.

The furniture, decor, is dated and the walls and lamps are dusty with spider webs. The outside property is well maintained.

We overall enjoyed the stay in the LA residence Marriott Markham. The small kitchen in our unit made a whole difference and was very useful. The coffee maker lacks quality however we enjoyed the coffee in the dinning area. The breakfast could be improved and healthier. What can be added are: boiled eggs, real bacon, quality bread, greens. If you don't like scramble eggs and carbs, you are basicly left with very limited choice. The stuff was super nice and friendly. We would definitely recommend this place for its convinient location, swimming pool, etc

Didn't like that there was no real bacon at breakfast, only vegan bacon labelled as "Canadian Bacon". Otherwise my family had an excellent stay and was very grateful for the kind, welcoming service, the politeness of all the staff, and the quiet facility that felt very safe.
