Great location for me when visiting family, and a quiet refuge in a busy area. Pool and hot tub are an end of the day treat for me. Each morning there is a friendly greeting by the breakfast staff to start your day. They are very helpful and really care about getting your day off to a great start.

Would like free parking
A lovely boutique hotel. Staff were outstanding. Room was good size with comfortable bed and a large bath with walk-in shower with bench. There is a small pool and outdoor area, bar and restaurant offering good food. Continental breakfast includes yogurt, muesli, fruit and pastry. Very near Universal studio and convenient to Hollywood. Many restaurants within walking distance in a safe neighborhood.
Nothing
Convenient location and a lot of charm. The hotel is cute and full of character, and our room and bathroom were really nice. Most of the staff were kind and genuinely helpful. However, there are a few issues that impacted the overall experience. The front desk during the day was not welcoming—he didn’t acknowledge me and seemed to rush me through checkout. More importantly, I wasn’t given a receipt, and I later noticed additional charges on my card that I needed the receipt for. The pricing is also misleading. What’s advertised is not what you end up paying. Valet parking has an additional fee every day, and there’s no onsite self-serve option—you have to choose valet or use ride share. On top of that, there are additional resort fees on top of the taxes/city fees, including charges tied to pool/tub access. For the facilities provided, the resort fees felt overpriced. Breakfast was another letdown. The dining area is very limited, with only a few tables, and it’s uncomfortable to find a place to sit. The free breakfast quality was below what I’d expect compared with other chain hotels like Marriott or Hilton, and to get better food you effectively end up needing to order or pay extra. Overall, the hotel itself is attractive and the rooms are great, but the extra fees, breakfast setup, and checkout experience left a bad impression.
I wish I could give this stay a better review, but unfortunately almost everything went wrong. The toilet in my room was broken on arrival; maintenance came quickly to fix it, but it continued to run loudly all night, making it nearly impossible to sleep. As if that wasn’t enough, I was jolted awake by a fire alarm at 4:45 AM, which turned out to be false. On top of the disrupted sleep, noise from the guests above me also continued throughout the night. Check-in was equally frustrating. I arrived about an hour early from stated check in and hoping to drop off bags and were told the room wasn’t ready — understandable — but check in staff member Ali (?) was incredibly rude in how he handled it. For instance other than his curt attitude, I asked politely if they had been sold out and with a sneer he said for your type of room yes. Despite waiting another hour, i was also promised a call once the room was ready, which never came; I ended up having to check periodically 2 hours after stated check in time. . When it was finally ready, I was asked to complete the check in forms that I had already completed earlier when I had arrived. Basic incompetence. The only bright spot of the entire stay was the valet team, who were consistently very friendly and professional. Kudos to those guys. It’s a shame that the sane staff member Ali was also rude to them as well as he was with me, barking orders with a total lack of respect. It’s clear what he thinks of his coworkers, let alone his guests. Unfortunately, those guys aside, that wasn’t nearly enough to salvage the experience. I would not stay here again. I relayed my issues at check out to the front desk supervisor who did at least attempt some form of recognition that service was below standard. My advice to any would be guests / travelers is avoid the place And if you do stay, do not stay with a room facing the Vons parking lot. It’s noisy all night long as well.
Enjoyed breakfast, great cocktails
Stay could have been longer great atmosphere
We had an excellent stay at Hotel Amarano and would definitely return! The location was one of our favorite parts—it’s only about five minutes from the Burbank Airport, yet it feels like a quiet, charming neighborhood instead of a busy tourist district. Everything we needed was close by, including Starbucks, a grocery store, and several restaurants just across the street. It was also the perfect home base for visiting Universal Studios, Hollywood, Newport Beach, and Anaheim. The hotel was spotless, and every member of the staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The service made us feel right at home from check-in to check-out. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable hotel in a great location with exceptional service, Hotel Amarano is an excellent choice. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to stay again on our next trip to California!
A lovely long weekend stay. Clean friendly comfortable hotel a beautiful pool
Beautiful hotel - great location
Bell boys were great. Breakfast is not to the level of the Hotel Name
Breakfast is not to the level of the Hotel Name Elevators smells bad Breakfast service needs to be elevated to the hotel standards
Booked them through Expedia and immediately realized the day was wrong. Contacted Expedia and they contacted the hotel on my behalf and spoke to Stella to adjust the reservation date. Apparently the booking date was never adjusted and neither was I ever able to get a refund from the hotel.
Stayed here for five days for summer camp. At first, the pullout bed in our suite did not look good, but housekeeping gave us bedsheets and blankets. The free continental breakfast was good. Just know you have to pay 45 dollars a day for the only parking service, valet parking! The hotel is very boutique and modern and there is very little noise from the street. The lavazza coffee in every room and suite is good. Overall a nice, comfortable hotel that is good if you want to have a boutique feel.
Location and proximity to things
Beautiful property with great decor
Maid service was slow
The hotel was clean and beautifully appointed. Really nice restaurant and bar. Great pool and jacuzzi.
The roar of the air conditioner kept me awake all night.
I have been choosing Hotel Amarano for over a decade when in Burbank/LA area!! It is a lovely boutiques hotel with great rooms and suites, a lovely Restaurant/Bar, pool/hot tub and exercise space. The staff is exceptional! From doormen, to front desk, managers, bartenders and room service personnel - EVERYONE is looking to please you and make sure that things are as you’d like. It’s a warm and friendly environment. The rooms are spacious, beds super comfy and great Wi-Fi and room service as well! I highly recommend it, and I’m a frequent hotel guest across the globe.
Excellent property, location and conditions. In the staff was amazing and very professional and service oriented.
Well designed room and facilities Courteous staff Easy access from main road Clean and quiet neighborhood
Room cleaning should be done earlier Option for self parking
Great location, friendly staff
Disappointed by surprise mandatory Resort Fee and Valet Parking cost. Staff was great, yet felt the hotel was overpriced.
Staff were impeccable. Always used our names and very helpful and friendly. Rare, these days! Easy to maneuver the hallways, nice little self serve store for amenities.
The beds were pretty uncomfortable, we are used to decent memory foam mattresses, but these were old fashioned spring/coil, and they were sub par for this property. Pillows seemed pretty flat and cheap quality, as well.
This is an exceptional hotel, located in Burbank with easy access to freeways and to a lot of restaurants and special attractions. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!
Our only complaint was that the room had a couple issues, including plug outlets and lights that did not work, plus it took forever for the shower water to get hot.
Location
Our balcony door would hardly open and was broken. Room service only made beds, left all the trash and dirty cups. Did not replace liner to ice bucket or cups so we couldn’t make tea or coffee in the room. Also left bottle of cleaning liquid behind which they never used.
We really liked this Hotel! The staff is fantastic especially Kelly at breakfast, she was absolutely awesome! Also, bartenders Norm and Harvey were fun and engaging. The location is perfect and the hotel is a very cool boutique hotel! Put this Hotel on your list!!!!
Nothing
Staff remembering names, restaurant was really good, room was spacious and I loved the amenities down to the clothes steamer
Beautiful comfortable hotel in a nice location.
The exercise room was void of any sanitizer or wipes all 4 days there. Didn’t like having to walk past everyone in the lobby to go get ice and refill water.
The whole hotel is cozy and welcoming. The staff are highly professional and engaging. The location is ideally central to everything we wanted to do.
The room had an odd smell. The bed is a tad too hard, but that's a personal preference.
Lovely boutique hotel
The place is top shelf class act for sure. I've stayed here twice and I'll stay there again.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Amarano. From start to finish, the staff were top notch. The valets were exceptionally friendly. We arrived in the rain and they opened doors, had umbrellas etc. In fact, we ran across the same staff member the next day in the elevator, and he remembered our names! We had two rooms, and one of our guests is quadriplegic. The staff went above and beyond, letting us check in early to one of the rooms to handle a medical need, and were accommodating when we had to make changes due to unexpected health circumstances. The rooms were comfortable and clean, they felt very "elevated" and had nice touches like robes and a Lavazza coffee maker (though a quick instruction card would be helpful). The bed was comfortable, everything was clean, nice view of pool area which we couldn't use because of the rain. Room service was fast and the lady super friendly. We had had a long day at Warner Bros Studios and it was nice to come back to the room and eat. We ordered multiple entrees and drinks; all the food was delicious, cocktails were great. Honestly, there wasn’t a thing we could fault, and I feel like that's so rare these days. The location is perfect, and the little touches made a big difference, like giving us umbrellas to borrow when we left in pouring rain for our tour. It is a nice place but the staff is in my opinion, what makes this hotel exceptional. We looked at other hotels before booking and are so glad we chose to go here and can't wait to come back for the same Gilmore Girls event next year! Thank you!
I visited Hotel Amarano for a staycation with my husband and we really enjoyed our stay! The rooms are beautiful, clean and spacious and the staff provided excellent customer service, going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The lobby restaurant FYC offers a great free continental breakfast, and we loved everything we tried on the dinner menu as well. The pool and hot tub area is lovely and relaxing, and the rooms have many useful amenities. It’s also convenient to key tourism locations like Universal Studios, the WB Studio Tour, and Burbank airport. Highly recommend for locals and tourists alike!
We stayed here for the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl game. We loved our room because it was so spacious, the restaurant & bar were very good and open during the day and evening, great drinks. Room service breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly and the location is good, close to Burbank Airport.
We didn’t walk anywhere or use the pool due to the unusually rainy weather.
Hotel Amarano is conveniently located in Burbank with great access by local roads and highway. (It is across the street from a 24 hour supermarket which had come in handy for grabbing items for the room.) The staff is extraordinary- knowledgeable, helpful and caring! I have stayed here for both business and personal reasons over many years and am never disappointed. The atmosphere is lively yet nice and quiet at night. The restaurant is very pleasant to visit - for either a wonderful cocktail or lovely selection of food items. You can also sit undisturbed with your computer if you wish. There is a nice pool and hot tub if you have the time for a dip, as well as an exercise room. Rooms are oversized and well appointed and comfortable, whether you desire a simple single room, a junior suite, or two room suite— you will be happy with the choices. There is also a great expansive chairman’s suite if you need opulence. I go back for the incredible staff, as well as accommodations. You can’t go wrong with this choice of hotel in the area.
Great location
My daughter and I were so pleasantly surprised by Hotel Amarano! It's conveniently located...not far from the Burbank airport and Warner Brothers Studios and the decor is beautiful. We loved our room on the 2nd floor, it was clean and well appointed with coffee maker, robes and slippers and a generous number of towels. We are already planning a trip back to Burbank and will most definitely stay here again!
Not a great hotel but good to very good. Great location. Very friendly staff. The “included breakfast” is not well done. Unripe melon, average danish and yogurt. Better than nothing but only marginally. I ordered breakfast one day and it took a half hour to get it served. An omelette shouldn’t be difficult. Room (executive) was spacious and nicely appointed. Bathroom was great. Big and clean. Had bathrobes, slippers and a safe in closet. Coffee maker. 4th floor. Never had to wait for elevator. Security for getting onto elevator from ground floor. Eco-water system should be on every floor (not just 1 and 3) The big issue was the taxes. Ready? CA tourism fee - BTBID assessment (?) - Amenity Fee - Amenity Fee tax - and Occupancy fee. Room average about $235 USD and taxes are $70+ a night. That’s a ridiculous amount of money for nothing. It’s just a way to get more $
Hats off to the staff at Hotel Amarano! The check-in and valet drop-off processes were smooth. Our room was nice, but the toilet and microwave had issues. The kind staff made sure that all of our needs were met, however. We were quickly moved to a different room and really loved our stay. The restaurant is great, and so are the amenities. I’d be remiss to not mention how comfortable the robes are! More than anything, the staff is why we would consider returning if we ever needed to have another LA staycation! My only suggestions are for them to hang hooks for towels and to upgrade the toilet paper. Highly recommend!
Lovely boutique hotel in Burbank Uber from LAX was $81 Inc tip and took 55 minutes Normal stuff for LA The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from from the Warner Bros tour and a 10/15 ride from Universal Studios City Walk. Ideal position for both Although you're close to the Ventura freeway you'd never know There's a shopping centre directly over the road with a Vons supermarket open 24/7, Starbucks, Panda Express, Handel's Ice Cream, Ma's Italian and a few others too. Very handy. Check in was a breeze. Room 214 overlooking the courtyard was big and spacious with all the amenities you'd expect Didn't visit the pool area but looked nice from afar Continental breakfast was included in the amenity fee which was nice as you wouldn't usually get things you might want for your $30/40 a night elsewhere in the US The best part was how utterly friendly and nice the staff are. Always asking about your day with a smile If you're looking for a nice hotel in the Burbank/Universal City are then choose this one
Absolutely amazing stay at the Hotel Amarano! From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we felt like celebrities. The super helpful staff went above and beyond to make our stay extra special, from helping with our luggage to checking us into our room early so that we could head over to Universal. The room itself was spacious, bed was comfy and had plenty of storage. Continental breakfast was a welcomed inclusion. We stayed over Halloween and were very grateful to the kind gentleman on Concierge for suggesting that we take a walk over to Toluca Lake. Both of my children had the best time. Being from the UK, they were in awe of the extent of decoration and overall friendliness of the home owners. They have enough candy to last them for a while :) Thank you Hotel Amarano for making our stay a memorable one. Recommend 1000%
Booked a one-night stay in Black Friday deal for 11 months ahead, and the pricing was good. Contacted the hotel prior to arrival that we were due about 11pm after our flight and asking what food options would be available. We were told we'd have to use a takeaway app as their kitchen would be closed - fair enough. Our flight got in early so we arrived at 10:30, and reception suggested we speak to the bartender about possible food options as the kitchen was closing soon. The bartender was extremely helpful and said they could accommodate us if we ordered in the next 10m which was easy. We ordered three dishes and were offered the choice of staying in the bar or having it delivered to our room so we could get sorted. We chose to dine in our room; they did not mention there was a $7 charge for this. The room was booked for four but when we reached it the sofa bed had not been made up and there were no sheets or pillows for us to do this ourselves so we had to call housekeeping, who came swiftly and helped us. The food service was also quick and very tasty. The room itself was clean, and had some modern elements such as USB-c charging on the bedside table, but other parts felt dated and tired; the bathroom ceiling was peeling and the towels were quite thin and ragged in places. We could hear traffic noise but it didn't really disturb us. Continental breakfast was included; this was a choice of pastry, fruit, yoghurt and granola. Tea and coffee and water available. We ordered two croissants; one was very dry and left uneaten, the other quite oily. Fruit and yoghurt were fine, as was the coffee. Late checkout was available FoC until 12:30, but we couldn't be back for that time so they kindly stored our cases for us. Bell services when we arrived were very helpful and swiftly helped with our cases on departure, and offered to help us with a car if needed. The hotel is in a great location for visiting WB Studio Tour. It was clean and comfortable. If staying for longer or returning I would look to see what other options were available; I wouldn't rule out staying again.
Really disappointed with our stay at the Amarano. After travelling from the UK and taking our children to experience America for the first time, this was our first stop on our tour. When we arrived we were told that the superior double room we had booked months ago was sold out and they put myself, my partner and two teenage children (one who is nearly 6 foot) in a room with one double bed. They brought in one single camp bed and told us it was tough luck and we would 'have to work it out'. After complaining they agreed to credit our amenities fee. When leaving the hotel, I noticed on the invoice they had not credited our amenities fee, so I asked them to sort it. We were given an invoice showing the credit but we have never physically received the credit back. I believe that the employee on the front desk fraudulently wrote out the credit on our invoice but never intended to refund. We have e-mailed, sent facebook and Linked in messages asking for the refund but we are being ignored and are now taking it up with our credit card company. Do not trust this hotel. Luckily the rest of our trip was fantastic and restored our faith in American Customer Service.
Clean and nice enough staff. One guy was very meh- the rest were quite nice. Discounted our parking because of the mess up with our reservation
Walls were thin. Heard our neighbors all night, and they were smoking so that leaked through walls Bathroom fan did not work and they lost our reservation so gave us a room without a view
Friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
That we didn’t stay longer lol.
We booked two king bedroom suites for our family of four. We were in town for Universal studios. The hotel was beautiful and very clean. The rooms were perfect and way more spacious than I had expected. Room service was fast and the food was wonderful. Will definitely recommend this little gem to others.
The staff is super nice and professional. The valet makes everything so easy. The room was huge. The whole hotel was spotless. The food was awesome, even if it was a bit pricey. Room service was great, and everyone was so friendly. We've stayed here before, and I'm so glad we came back! My only complaint is the bed could be comfier, but that's just me since I like softer beds. Otherwise, it was perfect!
The website list that there is a shuttle or black car for short transfers and trips. But when we asked there wasn’t one. So his feels dishonest , especially when you have such a high resort fee.
Great location and property , highly recommended
Amazing staff and very friendly. The room itself was beautiful!
loved the pool area and hot tub. The staff were great.
Staff was great! Water for showers could be warmer!
Love the hotel, staff and location. I just wasn’t aware we would have to pay for parking upon arrival.
Great hotel and staff!..Loved My stay!
.
Staff went above and beyond!
My husband has enjoyed this hotel numerous times while in the area for work. So it was a natural choice when we had an event to attend. The hotel is very nice, attractive ambiance and lovely rooms. It is quite clean, serves a great breakfast and is centrally located to the major studios and attractions in the Los Angeles area. The one aspect that sets it apart is the staff. They are all so friendly, courteous and helpful, from the minute you get out of your car on arrival until the moment you depart.
Great shopping center across the street
Great boutique spot.
Friendly staff!
Upon check in, the staff was friendly and gave clear instructions on what to do regarding valet parking and checking into the room. Everyone was professional and the service was amazing. The place is clean and smells nice. There’s no signs of infestation or strange odor. The staff was quick with their valet services and kept the vehicle safe during our stay. When we returned to the hotel around 1am, there was clear instructions on how to go about leaving the vehicle when the valet parking attendant isn’t present. The only minor inconvenience exiting the place because it’s right next to the main road with a turning light just north of the hotel during traffic hours, but it’s still something that’s manageable and can easily be handled. The water pressure of the bathroom was good. Strong toilet pressure and decent shower water pressure. I would 10/10 stay again
Amazing hotel. The room was pleasant on the eyes. Loved the shower. The outdoor pool and hot tub was relaxing. Would definitely visit again.
Resort fee of $40 a night? In Burbank? Puleeeze! (it included 2 bottles of water, which never appeared) Overpriced.
Great service just think they need to step or add to the complimentary breakfast
It is pretty. I like how clean it was. Welcoming staff. Beautiful backyard and swimming pool. I did not like tho 2 red stains on my sheets. It was definitely washed but if stains don’t go out they should not use them. I also found only one pair of slippers despite that I got room for 2. Bathrobes were nice. Food is pretty expensive there and not really tasty. I would still recommend this place because of location, nice staff, charming interior and absolutely clean and peaceful backyard and hot top.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Checkin was smooth. Service was terrific. Very clean room and hotel. Convenient location for driving or walking.
Great boutique hotel. Nice amenities, the staff was friendly and helpful, comfortable beds, enjoyed the gym, couldn’t ask for more!
The style of the hotel is so fun. The rooms are unique & clean & the staff just really make this place over the top with their friendly nature.
The staff is excellent. Valet was quick and easy.
