Faro Blanco Resort Marathon Florida Keys, Curio by Hilton

Lovely property in a great location on Marathon, but it ultimately didn’t suit our needs or expectations. What we liked: Excellent location with a beautiful marina area that’s perfect for strolling. There are two pools, plus a bar and restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were generally helpful. What didn’t work for us: None of the rooms have balconies. The restaurant is average at best. The biggest issue was the overwhelming amount of eucalyptus essential oil throughout the main building and the Parrish Cottage — it made our lips, eyes, and throat burn. We were ready to leave right after check-in, but management kindly accommodated us by moving us to the Parrish Cottage. The scent was still noticeable there, though more tolerable for our short stay. Even five days later, our luggage still carried the eucalyptus aroma. A big thank you to Cassie for going out of her way to make sure our stay was breathable and enjoyable. Overall it has a relaxed vibe, but it simply wasn’t the right fit for us.

We stayed one night and slept so well in our rooms. The doors seem to be sound proof, you don’t hear anything in the hallway. The beds were very comfortable. The room was very clean

Very nice and helpful staff but definitely expensive. The beds are so comfortable and our room was nice and clean every day. It is a central location and very quiet, which is relaxing. I just wish there was more to offer since it is so pricey and no food or drink (we only got one welcome drink and we’re not offered any on other days) is included in the room stay. Overall nice and relaxing experience, the smores with the homemade key lime marshmallows were a hit for us. Another disappointment was the restaurant. Some meals were so great like the steak frites or shrimp scampi and some were terrible - like the lobster Mac and cheese that we had to send back because the “lobster” was so rubbery. Also, the $25 salad had frozen avocado in it which was not good at all.

We spent five days at Flaro Blanco, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about how well this place is run. You can really tell things have leveled up recently under Dennis, the new manager. He’s super attentive, visible around the grounds, and genuinely cares about how guests are faring. It makes such a difference when management is hands-on without being overbearing. A huge shoutout to sammie the bar lady handling the late shifts, too. I wish I caught her name, but she is a absolute machine behind the bar! Even when a late crowd rolled in, she stayed completely unfazed, friendly, and kept up incredible efficiency without making anyone wait or skimping on drink quality. Great atmosphere, top-tier service, and a stellar team. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Must stop by - came in for the prime rib, but we went with the filet and special and were not disappointed!! Our server Jaylee was fantastic, she knew everything about the menu and resort. She was so kind we haven't had someone so remarkable in a long time so we were impressed. We will definitely be back!

Monroe County locals on a weekend getaway! We enjoyed the grounds and the spacious rooms! The restaurant on premise was the highlight of our trip! Yellowtail snapper fish and chips was excellent and a great take on such a common dish! We sat at the bar with Sammie jo for our time there! Being in the industry myself islcan say we received excellent service! We did not have to wait or ask -- she was right on top of it! Friendly and attentive -- could not have been better! The property was beautiful and close to many activities.

The staff was less than helpful and most likely understaffed and undertrained. You would ask for housekeeping and no one would come or you walk back to your room and there was a staff member with your door open for no reason.

Shoutout to the amazing Sammi Jo, our bartender at Faro Blanco! 🍹✨ She was so courteous, generous, and made some of the best drinks we’ve had. Faro Blanco is an amazing resort in the Florida Keys! The food is always delicious, the love music (especially Adam James) is fantastic, and the staff is top notch. Also, you can't beat the beautiful lighthouse view. Highly recommend the seared salmon dinner with coconut curry rice and to come have a drink with their bartender, Sammi Jo. Faro Blanco with definitely worth a visit.

The hotel was nice, the service was great, but I had two major issues during my stay. First, the smoke alarm kept randomly beeping during our stay, including middle of the night, waking me and my family up. Maintenance pretty much just shrugged when called in, and I had the same issue the second night of our stay. Second, my Hilton Honors status wasn't recognized, and I was charged for water bottles in my room that should have been free for me.

This property is absolutely beautiful! There are two pools that we loved and utilized. The staff were wonderful! The property sits right on the water, stunning views. There is a restaurant that serves outstanding food. There is also a amazing bar on property. From check in to check out, this property didn't disappoint! The rooms were well appointed and clean. Good hotel, two very little pools for the amount of people. Bikes need maintenance, they are falling apart. Hallways need vacuuming they are filthy, room cleaning very deficient, left cups and glasses dirty, never change then. Never vacuum the room. But the hotel itself is great, good bar restaurant and views.

Worst hotel I have stayed in the past 10 years. I gat there after 4 pm, no rooms available. It was not until 5:30 did we gat a room. A/C stopped working in the middle of the night. Then they told us no rooms are available and we will have to move to a different hotel. Hours later, they “found” a room for us.

Kristina was an absolute angel!! She took care of us on 2 different occasions. Both times my boyfriend was on and off work calls the entire time. She was so attentive and so kind for letting him work and just hang out. She stayed on top of refilling our drinks and overall made the experience 100x better.

We came on an overnight trip from Miami to celebrate fathers day, getaway and enjoy a hotel away from home. This is a beautiful resort, has 2 pools, rooms are beautiful and updated, the grounds are well kept, it sits next to a Marina with a nice sea view ( no beach access though so only pools) food served is really nice. What was lacking was the attention you expect to have at a Curio property since we had a really unfortunate time at dinner. After a long day in the sun with our friends and kids we headed to the restaurant for dinner, and were told by the people at the host stand that the restaurant was closed at 9:20 pm when the hours of operation state it closes at 10. They said the kitchen was slammed and could not sit us but they had plenty of tables available and then suggested we order from the bar but refused to sit us. We were very frustated and about to head outside of the property for dinner when Ferdi a waiter saw our faces and asked if he could help. We explained the situation and he gladly checked with the kitchen and took ownership of the situation, he sat us on a table and took care of us, taking our orders, delivering food and being absolutely amazing to take care of the situation. We never got an apology or acknowledgement of any of the rest of the staff, no manager or teammember ever approached us, only Ferdi who seems to be a senior member of the team and knew how to make things right and take care if guests. We did aproach the front desk the next day to let the manager know but they said the manager in turn was unavailable. Again we still had a great time but this situation left a bad feeling as we felt the staff was not hospitable and did not want to take care of the guests.

We really loved the hotel and amenities! But we had a very disrespectul experience at dinner at lighthouse kitchen and bar! We arrived at 9:20 with kids super hungry and the host told us we could not eat here... there where tables available and kitchen closes at 10pm! The hostes was super disrespectul and basically told us to eat a mcdonalds because they were not going to serve us! We were about to leave when Ferdi one the most amazing servers we have met, told us to dont worry and he help us seating us down! He was super helpful, friendly and we had a great night

Great vibe and style to the place. Everything was great, food, drinks, service and amenities. Definately would stay here again. One of the nicest places on the island in my opinion.

No onsite beach. That would be a nice bonus if they offered that for the kids or adults just to get their feet wet in the ocean.

Beautiful hotel, gorgeous views and an amazing infinity pool. Derrick at the pool bar was awesome and definitely makes you feel at home. He was very engaging and attentive, a true asset to the resort for sure. Unfortunately, not responsive at all via email regarding billing enquiries and though I left happy, that has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I’d suggest checking your bill before leaving and taking any disputes up with them in person.

Skip this place. They arent cleaning their guestroom LVP properly and having serious moisture issues in the rooms. Room 204 smelled like pet urine and Room 330 is unsafe due to thw flooring actually coming up off the floors.

This is a great location, we flew into the Marathon airport and it is very close by. We were about an hour to an hour and fiteen minutes either way to Islamorada or to Key West. The rooms were spacious but the mini fridge in it is VERY tiny. The room wasn't as clean as it could have been with some weird stains on the sofa and the comforter on one of the beds. The beds are pretty good but the pillows are very flat. My biggest gripe has to be the window inside the bathroom. When someone goesinto the bathroom during the middle of the night and accidentally turns on the light they shine right through the window. You also see weird shadows of people dressing or brushing their teeth. I really don't understand who thought YES PUT A BATHROOM WINDOW IN. The sliding door to the bathroom is also made of glass. The glass is frosted but it still lets you see silhouettes and lets out all that light into a dark room. And the walls of the bathroom are thin. You better turn up your TV because you will hear every single sound that comes out of it. I mean come on Hilton, don't you think you could spend a few dollars to better insulate the walls around the bathroom? The resort looks really nice, good pools and it was very quiet. It was pretty expensive but the keys are smaller and I understand that there is not an abundance of hotel rooms to choose from.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Clean rooms, live entertainment nightly, good restaurant and beautiful views. AND free parking. Our only concern was there was a big wedding party staying and when we checked in there were no room options so for our Hilton Diamond for Life status we didn’t get a great room. We actually moved from the first room cause window overlooked all the heating air conditioning units and beside the elevator, next room was a parking lot view on first floor. But, hey, room was clean, a/c worked well and beds were comfy. We would recommend and would come back. The staff were very friendly.

The property is beautiful. Prime location and the layout of the resort is so nice. We ate at the Lighthouse Restaurant for dinner and Vika was our waitress. Talk about attentive and perfect customer service! She was AMAZING. She answered questions, gave recommendations, checked in on us several times throughout the meal which made the whole dinner for our first time here such a great experience. The food was phenomenal and I highly recommend the Pearadise Marg with a tajin rim! The views behind the resort are great, and the overall courtyard and greenery feels so tropical!

Our coffee maker wasn’t working properly, but we only stayed one night so it was not too much of a big deal.

The property is a gem of the Florida Keys. A romantic spot. It is clean and spotless.

There’s an extremely tiny beach. Pool is on the shade in the afternoon. On arrival, we were not given very precise information regarding the facilities. We had to ask twice to locate the room and we were not provided with the breakfast vouchers. We went back to ask how breakfast worked and a lovely man named Otis explained us everything. Otis was definitely professional . Thank you!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary dinner here and had a fabulous meal and excellent service from Vika.

We had a lovely experience with Vika as our server. Good food, good view, good vibes, outstanding service from Vika.

This resort was a total disappointment. So many complaints it’s hard to know where to start. We checked in early, knowing our room would likely not be ready yet. The desk clerk put our name on “a list.” We were second on the list. She stated she would call when the room was ready. She never called. We went back at 4pm (check-in time). The list had grown to a full page and I could see no indication she called anyone. The room was awful. No Do Not Disturb placards anywhere.

The hotel was excellent , it was beautiful and very relaxing. We will be back again 🎉🎉

Clean, well landscaped.

Vehicle was broken into in the parking lot with no cameras per staff the first night. They also charge $20 a night for parking. The glass shower door in room 230 did not shut right causing the hundred pound glass door to jam and screech across the tile. I also was charged $119 from the bar which we never visited. Made the entire stay over priced and stressful on what should have been a peaceful vacation.

This resort is the perfect blend of "authentic" and boutique feeling beach/ marina resort with all amenities of a 4 star hotel. We loved the overall atmosphere and access to multiple pools, including the property next door and beach area in between. The staff was friendly and accommodating, especially Carlos who checked us in and out and looked in on us throughout our stay. The food at the "Lighthouse" restaurant was great and we enjoyed the pool service, food and beverage.

Brian was an awesome bartender. Very knowledgeable of the menu. Service was timely and I felt acknowledged. The food was delicious. My favorite was the banana creme brulee was my favorite. Definitely returning.

handicap access terrible. terrible access to front desk for handicap. too far from front desk to room. no help with luggage for handicapped. the ramp going down to the pool is unmarked, and blocked by furniture and temp heaters. the tv's in the bar are all blocked by ceiling fans. I've stayed there several times; never again. I want my $ back.

The site and staff are amazing. From the time we stepped into the reception area Carlos met us with warm greetings and acknowledged us by name daily. Ferdi, our server during breakfast, was exceptional. Food was delicious and arrived quickly. The grouper "corn dogs" (aka lightly fried) during happy hour by the pool was the best I have ever had, cooked to order. Atmosphere was relaxed, including nightly live music by the pool. Definitely a resort; family friendly - but not loud kids. Will definitely stay here again.

I travel to the Florida Keys extensively for Pleasure and for Business. I’m down in Marathon for a boating event, thought I would stay at one of my favorite places, the landmark Faro Blanco. This property has gone through a number of transitions since reopening about 10 years ago, starting as a Hyatt place and then owners took it to no franchise affiliation for a few years and now as a Shanar property, it is a Hilton Curio Collection property. As a travel agent, I try to be as objective as possible in my reviews, but this time, it’s a big zero for five. One of the attractions to stay here was they have a car chargers in the parking lot, and I arrived last night late to plug my EV, and the first of three chargers did not work. There were two other chargers, which are both Tesla ( I have a Lyric) one was occupied one was open and fortunately, I carry a Tesla adapter so I plugged in. Well, I guess that worked for a little while sometime in the middle of the night while sleeping, the charger breaker kicked off, and the stopped charging for the rest of the night. I wanted to drive to key west today for a meeting , but I cannot go now because of this, but I hit the reset button on the charger and now it’s working and I won’t have a full charge until around 12 noon today . Strike one! Last night The television in my room would turn on, but I couldn’t get any channels to work, there was a menu on the screen that allowed me to select LIVE TV which I did, but none of the channels would play. I could see the guide, but I could not get anything to play so no television to relax for turning down. Strike two. This morning, I went to make coffee and they have a nice Nespresso machine in the room so I proceeded to make myself a coffee, to find out there no creamer and no sweetener anywhere. So I had a black coffee. I hate black coffee. Strike three. I had a little work to do checking emails and send out a few documents to my staff back at the office. This was not something I could do with my iPhone, so I needed 15 minutes on a computer. I went down to the lobby to locate the business center where they have a couple of computers for guests to use to login and do these kind of tasks. I searched the hallways in corridors and opened a few doors, nothing. Couldn’t find anything anywhere. Strike four. So I decided to walk over to the main restaurant to get a coffee and a bite to eat. I proceeded to the double doors which open onto the pool deck where I could walk through the deck to the restaurant next-door. All doors locked. So I tried to find another exit and same thing happen again all doors locked. I couldn’t get out of the hotel to get to the restaurant. So I went back out through the hotel front doors and walked all the way around, but it was raining hard so I got soaked just walking to get a coffee and a bite to eat. So basically you cannot even leave the hotel to go get something to eat if it’s raining because you’ll get wet and it’s a pretty long walk. Strike five. So, in my opinion, they were already out on strike three, but this just has insult injury, and this is a Curio collection, which, according to Hilton standards is a pretty high level of lodging and customer service,. Well, the view is nice when you do finally get to the pool deck by the restaurant you have that Landmark, Faro Blanco Lighthouse, and I think that may be the real reason I’m here… I guess I have to forgo all that other stuff to have that View!

We want to highlight one waitress/ kitchen staff employee named Megan H. for the professional, polite, & Great service we received from her each time we saw her during our 10 day stay. She was Very efficient & polite. She helped to make us feel Welcome as guests. If we had a need or question about our service (food or drink) she was quick to offer suggestions or resolve any issue for us. Thank You - Megan!

Being generous and rating it a two. I have never stayed at a cleaner resort and the space is beautiful BUT the service is subpar: housekeeping missed our room for the second day in a row, they didn't have any coolers to borrow (even though it's included in daily $35 resort fee), and the front desk staff member Jasmine was as interested in helping in this as a bored 18-year old at a seedy gas station. I'm extremely disappointed. For the record, Jasmine reported that the resort does not have any coolers because people didn't return them. How about for over $450/a night, staff go purchase more coolers for guests?! Bottom line: DO NOT STAY HERE.

The Hilton Faro Blanco is a nice complex, it's tucked away from the bustle of Key West and well maintained. However, regardless of the effort put into the property, the staff are what make this establishment unforgettable. One such member that comes to mind is Carlos. Mid-way through our stay we kept missing housekeeping and accumulated quite a bit of garbage, Carlos absolutely didn't have to come by and replenish everything we were missing - but he did. I have stayed at many hotels in different parts of the world (Canada, US, Mexico, Dominican Republic, UK, France, Sweden, Serbia, Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan - to name a few countries), however, reception's response to service has varied significantly (regardless of price point). Carlos was a not only exemplary as a team member but a reminder of the nonsense hotel staff occasionally deal with (I feel rudeness is completely unjustified in such instances). With all of this being said, the service is excellent and is made so by the wonderful team this franchise is so lucky to have. Other staff members that come to mind ; Megan, Ferdi, Chrissy, Vika and Keilin at the Lighthouse (along with their attending managers; William and Anthony), Darius at the bar, Otis and Feris at reception and, of course, the tireless housekeeping department. All of the aforementioned staff members made the stay memorable with their friendly nature and resourcefulness. In a place such as this, where it seems not much needs to be added, you realize quickly that ease is only made possible by a great team. This may be a casual destination for many domestic US travelers, but for me and my family, coming from Ontario/Alberta, we were happy we chose this location (during my first trimester, no less). Thank you Faro Blanco team! You were a great stay!

We were greeted right away and had excellent service throughout our stay. Our room was large and very clean! The pool area was nice to be at in the afternoon (lots of sun) and there were great sitting areas and places to hang out with our family around the resort. The Happy Hour was hard to beat and the service was rather quick! We ended up eating at the restaurant every night due to the fact that everything we ate was delicious and filling. We ended up having Thiago as a waiter for each night and his service and knowledge of the menu was impeccable! There was even live music two of the nights to enjoy while we ate! We would highly recommend making a weekend (or longer) of the Faro Blanco and will definitely be back to experience again!

The quality of customer service didn’t match the environment

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay was extremely disappointing. The beds were absolutely horrible. I had one of the worst nights of sleep I’ve ever had. The bed kept scooting around every time I moved, and I woke up with my back hurting terribly. Hoping breakfast would redeem the experience, we went down the next morning — unfortunately, it only made things worse. The food was cold and very overpriced for the quality. The service was just as disappointing. Our waitress was inattentive and failed to bring simple items like butter and jelly for my toast. To make matters worse, I was only given one piece of toast instead of the usual two. The only bright spot of the stay was being able to look out at the water, enjoy the warm weather, and take in the beautiful view of the lighthouse, which helped make the experience a little better. Overall, this was a very frustrating experience, and I would not recommend staying here.

Kai!!! The bartender 🍸wonderful professional, conversitive, engaging with all customers with an elegance and grace all awhile making service Bar and customer drinks at the bar. When you bring your pet here he not only remembers that he takes a picture has a photo album with different dogs that come to the bar which I think is so super nice. I am a dog mother of two mini dachshunds and I always feel welcome. Coming here always makes it feel like a vacation while at home why because of the beautiful ambience service food quality food presentation drinks drink presentation isreally something special. Everyone should come to Faro Blanco at least once and visit Kai. You’ll see what I’m talking about. The silverware is so clean it looks like it’s been freshly manufactured in polished looks beautiful the food astounding by the MARATHON cop salad the chicken, avocado BLT with the salad tequila lime house dressing is amazing. I suggest it with a side of blue cheese crumbles.

The bad: 1) paying a $35 resort fee for no beach (told we could use the beach next door). I assume most of the hotels in the area have a similar policy, so guessing the same type of fee wherever we would have stayed. 2) Housekeeping skipped us one day and it took a phone call, a visit to the front desk, and a couple of hours to get towel (told them we could skip the cleaning but we did need towels) The Good: 1) The staff was friendly and did their best to solve our issues. The person I dealt with most was Carlos, and he was quick to find solutions (including a small billing glitch). 2) Food and drink in both bar and restaurant was very good. 3) With the exception of the day they missed us the room was very clean, and the grounds were clean and appealing. 4) The hotel is on Marathon Key, which is a great location to explore the keys. More good than bad and I would recommend this hotel

We had an amazing 5 night stay. The rooms, pools and grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The staff sas very attentive and helpful. Ferdi our server was the best! We will definitely come back!

Fabulous time at the Hilton At Faro Blanco! To spite the cold weather ( in February ) we enjoyed the rooms, staff, property and the awesome bar staff at the outside bar. Shout out to Sammy Jo who served a mean drink and is always smiling.

High End resort in a great location. Well managed property. Room we stay is clean and well maintained. Right on the harbor marina, very relaxing environment. Front desk personnel are very polite and friendly, Carlos, Otis are professional, make us feel like family, will come back.

We love faro blanco! Sammy Jo is a wonderful server and always so friendly. The bar has a good vibe. Please heat the pool every day.

We’re in Faro Blanco condos ,for two months. We hang out at the Lighthouse pub and pool. Sammi Jo is so great to deal with. We always enjoy the days she works.

We are long-time, loyal Hilton guests and typically spend New Year’s at the Hilton on Marco Island. We consistently choose Hilton properties because of the reliability, service, and amenities we have come to expect and love for our family and personal vacations. We also previously loved the Casa Marina in Key West when it was a Waldorf Astoria and had high expectations for our stay at Hilton Faro Blanco, especially since Faro Blanco was recently converted to a Hilton property. Because our in-laws were staying nearby in Marathon, I chose Faro Blanco despite its significantly higher price point. Unfortunately, in hindsight, I deeply regret not booking the Hampton Inn or Courtyard next door. The Manager kept telling me we were free to leave, but she also knew the other properties were sold out and all of our family was staying nearby so we had no choice. We planned this trip to celebrate our son, who is serving in the Navy and about to be deployed to Greece while we stay back with his pregnant wife. This was our farewell family trip From the moment we arrived, it became apparent that this property does not meet Hilton standards. None of the rooms have balconies, or ocean views, (which the manager curtly pointed out I could have learned from the website, but I failed to do), the food service was entirely out of basic supplies and severely light on staff, housekeeping staff were slim and new hires, 2 telling me it was time 2nd and 3rd day on the job, the gym floors were covered in grit and dust covered the glass shelves walking into the guest areas and—most concerning—almost no cellular service or usable Wi-Fi in our room. My phone remained in SOS mode whenever I was in the room, making communication impossible. The resort appeared severely understaffed. During our first days, there was only one person at the front desk and one person staffing the café, resulting in long lines. The café repeatedly ran out of basic items—no breakfast sandwiches, no iced tea, no black tea, no jelly, and only white bread for toast. Staff openly shared their frustration while waiting on supply deliveries. We routinely had to leave the property to find food and drinks. Basic resort amenities were consistently unavailable. The water dispenser in the gym area was empty for our entire six-night stay. Pool towels were frequently unavailable, and dirty towel bins overflowed. Guests openly commented on the lack of water and towels. These are not minor inconveniences; they are fundamental expectations at a Hilton resort

We ate at the Lighthouse Kitchen and Bar with Megan as our server. The food was delicious and Megan was wonderful! Very upbeat and helpful!

Everyone was so friendly and helpful, especially our waiter Thiago at the Lighthouse restaurant! We were there to celebrate our anniversary and Thiago made sure it was special. The resort was beautiful and comfortable. Great views and food, would definitely come again.

Always a great experience. Carlos at the front desk was extremely accommodating, friendly and assisted with a couple of issues with our room. He went above and beyond and was a pleasure. Chrissy, Kristina, Jan and Kai were all great too. Super friendly staff.

Had a great late lunch then enjoyed watching the boats come in with Happy Hour specials and Sammi Jo took great care of us.
