El personal que trabaja en el hotel. Desde las recepcionistas, camareros, bartenders, todos fueron extremadamente amables y queridos. Las instalaciones son muy bonitas, limpias y organizadas.

No tendría nada que agregar. Quizás lo único es que pudieran darle refill a los implementos de aseo, en este caso, la ducha donde casi no había shampoo, body gel y acondicionador. De resto, todo excelente.

Me gustó mucho mi estadía en Hotel Rumbao. La ubicación es excelente, muy conveniente para caminar y disfrutar del área. Todo estaba muy limpio y bien cuidado, y en general tuvimos una experiencia muy agradable. Definitivamente me hospedaría aquí nuevamente.

The hotel was in prime location - right by the water & a street away from the happenings of Old San Juan! It was a gorgeous property, the staff were friendly and it felt like a home away from home. The rooms are beautifully designed and spacious too.

The overall state of the room could use a bit of an upgrade (for example the grout in the shower) but nothing that was a dealbreaker. Also at times you can smell the plumbing / sewerage from the bathroom, but I don’t think this is a fault of the hotel itself.

Its a great hotel wil stay here again.

I think it is overpriced. Facilities hasn’t been remodeled since I stayed there almost 10 years ago. Also they charge you a resort fee and as far as I understand, that is not a resort.

The key card machine was not working when we checked in and a manager had to let us into the room Mold on the ceiling of the bathroom Musty smell as you walk into the room Slight dirty bathroom floor Very poor breakfast- 1/2 hr between ordering food and receiving it- food was cold, dry scrambled eggs and bacon & the waitress never checked on us once the food was delivered. Drag queen host/ess ? at Kueros restaurant in the hotel.

My family and I had a very wonderful experience with your hotel. This was our first time in San Juan, Puerto Rico and also at this property. I’m so glad I stayed nearby. No me agradó la parte donde se me avisó hasta hacer el check in que no me incluían los 4 desayunos. Por lo que sería bueno que lo mencionen claro antes de hacer la reservación. También podrían aclarar la parte de que el parqueo tiene un costo extra.

El personal femenino de la recepción fue excelente, también me encantó el restaurante(el desayuno,bebidas y la atención del personal), el área de la barra muy agradable y su personal también. Le doy un A+ a todo el personal que nos atendió, muchas gracias 🤗

Lo único que no me gustó del hotel fue la piscina, es muy pequeña e incómoda. Ni un solo día pude disfrutarla😩.

I have had such a great experience at this hotel. I have gotten taken care of by many staff members in a great way, especially Jorge and Anai who was our server at the restaurant in the hotel which is called Island Kueros, and the food is absolutely phenomenal! To top it off, they had a live saxophone player playing some great music. I strongly recommend this hotel!

We stayed here for 2 nights and the staff was amazing. The rooms are spacious and incredibly clean. Each staff member we encountered was kind, patient, knowledgeable, helpful and genuinely friendly. We received fabulous food recs for local spots. We actually made the choice to drive for 2 hours back to this hotel later in the week when we cut our stay short at another hotel because it was a mess (that’s a different review lol) We were welcomed back with a smile and again they took excellent care of us. This will be our hotel moving forward when in PR. I’d rather day trip to the other side of the island and come back. Truly great hotel Location is fabulous and ….wait for it… THEY HAVE PARKING! If you’ve been to VSJ You know this is a HUGE deal.

Amazing experience, very clean and friendly staff!

The site of Hotel Rumbao, a recently renovated hotel, has been my home away from home for many years prior to the recent name change. It is ideally located in Old San Juan; walking distance to many historical sites, restaurants, shopping, souvenir stores, entertainment, and public transportation to many places in San Juan and neighboring municipalities. The area also offers many scheduled tours to explore the island. The staff at Hotel Rumbao is welcoming, friendly, helpful, very kind and accommodating. Issues, however small, are addressed ASAP. They make every effort to see to it that your stay is comfortable and memorable. I would undoubtedly recommend Hotel Rumbao as a place to stay during your time in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Nice rooms, great facilities (rooftop pool, gym), good restaurant (Kueros), although service can be a bit slow if there are many people. Location is great.

A little expensive for the type of rooms they have, could have been better looking rooms for almost 400-500 a night.

This is a wonderfully appointed hotel. It is in the heart of Old San Juan. The restaurant is excellent and has indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is very accommodating. Our room was made up very nicely every day for the week we were there.

I stayed at Hotel Rumbao for 3 months in relocating to San Juan and I appreciated every colorful, rhythmic moment of it. The pointed location; cultural welcoming; warm, hospitable staff; flavorful food & beverage at the Market and Kueros; and fun of Ocean Lab Brewing and Gran Casino Viejo. The inspirational, seasoned, memorable experience; everything was phenomenal. The Hotel is located directly across the street from cruise piers 3 and 4. Each time a ship would arrive with passengers new to San Juan it would make me smile in seeing genuine Puerto Rican hospitality. Market vendors lined the streets, tourist companies announcing their tours of the city and taxis ready to take you where you need to be. This is the place to see and be! If you book a room with a view, each time you draw open the curtains to see a ship in port you can’t help but feel inspired. The size and the wonder – Where has it been and where will it go next? One could write a story here. Didn’t get a room with a view? No problem – Check out the view from the rooftop pool; it’s marvelous, much like the city itself. Another place for a great view - Have drinks or dinner, or both, on the terrace at Kueros Bar & Kitchen. As you overlook it all, feeling the rhythm and vivo, music plays and the sun, or the stars, shine and you can dance into the night. The Rumbao cocktail is a must try – Jean, Victor and Nayah will take terrific care of you. The Paraiso and the Algo Sexy are also rhythmic cocktails for those who love gin. The Torched Tuna Poke Pegaitos, Criolla Coconut Ceviche, Crab Arepa Bites and Caribbean Rangoon are all excellent small share plates. For dinner try the Pan Seared Salmon, Surf & Turf Mofongo or Grilled Churrasco. Really Executive Chef Elvin Marrero does a great job with everything on the menu. Servers Sofia and Anais will ensure Caribbean excellence for a genuine experience. The Food & Beverage leadership team – Jorge, Yanisse and Breya – will ensure the kueros (drums) beat just right for you. For morning coffee, a quesito, or an empanada head to The Market on the lower level – Stephanie and Angel are great! The Market is also stellar for a quiet evening cocktail, wine or beer. Try a flatbread – the bread, sourced by MLB, is perfectly sweet and salty. The Market evening crew – Isamel, Nathanel and Ana are just as superior as the morning leads. Did you forget to pack something, or do you need something you didn’t expect? Head to Walgreens – it is conveniently located at the lower level of the hotel as well. Are you ready to head to Old San Juan? You are only a few blocks away from Señor Paleta, Montadero Chocolate, Mi Pequeño San Juan, Guess, The Coach Outlet and Anita Gelato. Need a manicure or pedicure – check out Anam Spa & Cocktail Lounge. Of course, you should see Puerta de San Juan and El Morro. I told you Hotel Rumbao was the key to Old San Juan. Need something for your room or mail service while you are out? Housekeeping Manager, Cindy Sierra, Assistant General Manager, Jihan Rivera or Front Office Manager, Marylis Gonzalez will ensure their superior staff handles your request with care. Front Desk employees Melanie, Josephine, Juan, Brandon, Edgar and Sarah are all terrific. Finally, if you haven’t tried Ocean Lab Brewing or pressing your luck at Gran Casino Viejo – you should. All of Ocean Lab Brewing beers are born on the beach, for the beach. If beer isn’t your flavor, they have cocktails as well. Burgers, chicken wings, sandwiches, tacos and a variety of entrees are on the menu. After dinner you can spin the roulette wheel or play a game of poker at Gran Casino Viejo. The casino offers 10 tables and 60 machines as well as a bar. Ocean Labs is just next door to Hotel Rumbao and Gran Casino Viejo. Two more places with rumba – right next to Hotel Rumbao. Hotel Rumbao – The key to Old San Juan – It’s almost like it is its own little district.

The entire hotel was AMAZING! The staff was knowledgeable and helpful, the restaurant food was very good, the room was EXCEPTIONAL! I think this will need to be our new girlfriends getaway spot! Thank you Hotel Rumbao!!

Great location

Dirty linen outside the room for the whole stay. Rooms and bathroom were not clean (hairs from previous occupants throughout). Advertised as having a balcony (it was a Juliet balcony, too small to even fit one chair). Very expensive.

L'établissement dispose d'une jolie décoration et la chambre était grande, Mélanie à la réception était vraiment très gentille et serviable à notre arrivée. L'emplacement est idéal dans la vieille ville face à la mer.

Il y a un gros problème de propreté (cheveux dans la salle de bain au sol sur les plinthes et dans le caniveau de douche, sous les tables de chevet, tapis non aspiré...) et malgré le fait que nous l'ayons mentionné à la réception le ménage n'a pas été refait correctement par la suite non plus.... A notre arrivée aucun drap ni couette pour le canapé lit alors que nous avions mentionné être 3 dans la chambre. De plus le service du petit déjeuner est beaucoup trop long ( près de 45 minutes d'attente à chaque fois) ils ne doivent pas être assez nombreux en cuisine....un credit de 21 USD/jour/chambre est offert à utiliser sur nourriture et boissons dans l'hôtel mais lorsque nous avons voulu l'utiliser pour le dernier petit déjeuner ils ne l'ont pas accepté alors qu'ils l'ont appliqué sur les 2 jours précédents, le crédit ne marche pas le jour du check-out (cela aurait été bien de nous le mentionner à l'arrivée....)

I loved the colors and style of the Property. There is a new Casino right across the street from the Hotel which opened the night we arrived. Unfortunately, due to flight delays we arrived late and didn’t get to enjoy the surrounding area. The Property is very old and could use a little refreshing. We enjoyed the on-site Restaurant for a late dinner upon arrival. We also had breakfast the next morning; which was included in our Hotel Room Rate.

The Property seemed that it was in need of a refreshing. Not dilapidated but in need of a bit of work. Also, the Hotel is not a walking distance to the Cruise Port as suggested by the description; unless your really fit. Be prepared to take a taxi or Uber if staying there pre-cruise.

Great location. Rooms were clean and got water everyday for the room. Access to the gym. Felt safe at the hotel.

Small thing but the sun loungers didn’t have paddings on them so were not very comfortable and if you wanted a drink at the pool you had to travel down to the 2nd floor to get one to bring back up to the pool (9th floor).

We returned to the totally renovated Hotel to find a beautiful makeover. Our room was fabulous, the bar and restaurant were fabulous, the staff were fabulous. Rumbao is a gem in the heart of Old San Juan. We will be back, same time next year!!!

The evening manager was awesome (can't remember his name, maybe Juan or Jose 😬🫣). He resolved our issue in a second. Professional and kind. A true leader in the hotel business. The 1br balcony suite was spacious, bed was comfortable. The top roof pool was on the smaller size but has everything you need.

Front desk ladies. A bit arrogant and condescending. Until the manager arrived. Our suite lacked towels and furniture bit dusty (an easy fix - didn't impact the stay)

My experience in Rumbao was 20/10. Starting with my late check in, Sarah received me with such kindness, calmness and patience, just what I needed after a long flight. I extended my stay one more night and Carlos was exceptional and inviting. He gave me recommendations for sunset and treated me with the most genuine personality. Josephine, Hector from Breakfast and valet parking were also professional and accommodating with my requests. Definitely one of the best hotel experiences staying in San Juan. Hotel was very cleaned and smelled very nice. Will be coming back!

Wonderful hotel with incredibly helpful, and attentive staff. The view from our room was breathtaking. Beautiful sunny skies with the San Juan Bay as the background. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Quiet during the night, and close enough to walk anywhere in the old city. Big shoutout to Josephine P. For being an absolute delight to work with. She got us situated and taken care of very quickly. Very friendly, warm, and approachable. She made our experience that much more enjoyable. Not my first time staying at this hotel, and certainly not the last. Already looking forward to my next stay.

Espectacular vista y ubicación frente al mar. Habitaciones super grandes y cómodas. Teníamos vista al jardín pero nos cambiaron a vista parcial al mar, muy bonito. Hemos dormido muy bien. Es calidad Marriott. Tiene un Wallgreens justo abajo, y muchos restaurantes y tiendas caminando muy cerca. Nos asignaron 21 dólares por habitación para consumir en el restaurante, lo aprovechamos en Kueros para un drink. Muy buen buffet de desayuno, lo teníamos incluido y estaba súper variado.

No hay “rumba” en el hotel, el restaurante tenía musica en vivo pero muy corto el tiempo y no era para bailar como nos habían contado. La fruta entera del desayuno estaba verde, tal vez era solo para decoración?

Limpieza de habitaciones deja en esta ocasión mucho que desear. Las sábanas parecía muy poco arreglada y un cambio de habitación que solicité porq tenía 2 habitaciones porq somos una familia y las pusieron extremadamente lejos me la entregaría después de más de 4 horas y múltiples insistencia. Bryan el de desk front solo decía q había q esterar. Pienso q nunca informó Lamentablemente esta ocasión no fue agradable en lo absoluto

We had an incredible experience from the moment we arrived. The general manager, Juan Carlos, and staff made such a warm impression from the very beginning with the mimosas and cold water. For our breakfast, Vivian provided exceptional service and gave us suggestions for our stay. Jorge Paris was amazingly helpful and kind. Spacious, clean rooms paired with a breathtaking view make for a truly memorable stay.

I’m a native Puerto Rican and wanted to make it a special visit and stay in my favorite city, Old San Juan. I made reservations at Hotel Rumbao and I couldn’t be happier! The staff, Juan Carlos, Vivian at Kuero’s, Jorge Paris, all made us feel welcomed immediately. The suite was perfect, the amenities on point, location was excellent as well! Coming to Old San Juan? Stay at Rumbao!

If you’re heading out on a cruise this is the place to stay overnight otherwise I would not recommend staying here long term

Got Bonvoyed! Room service was only on request, check in lady gave us the wrong room and worst of all no one mentioned there was a food and beverage credit so I put most of my meals on my card not the room so I got screwed out of my F&B credits. Location was good and that’s about it.

We had upgraded to an bay view through your app and gas given a higher price for the room When we arrived to the hotel they gave us an inside view that we originally booked at that higher price. I spoke to multiple managers there and showed the reservation and the proof on them app but no adjustment to the price or a move up to the bay view was made. We spent alot of money to stay in a mediocre room. They said it was on booking.coms end where the problem occurred.

The price per night is a lot.

The room was a one bedroom suite with plenty of space. Bathroom was good, plenty of towels and restocked each day. Very convenient for Cruise ship departures and also for visiting the Old part of San Juan.

The room was sold as a bay view, which it had, as long as you lent out on the tiny balconies. There were some housekeeping issues like a missing net curtain, a very odd vent in to the bedroom area that allowed water to drip down the wall. Management attended to look at the list of issues we had, so hopefully everything is sorted.

This hotel is nice but if you don’t like crowds from cruise ships, stay far away from here. Cruise ships change out every day. As a result, 10 ships came and went in the span of 2 1/2 days!

The hotel is across from the cruise ship docks and it gets overrun a few times a day when the ships come in. The staff was nice, but the few requests we made were not met.

The location was centrally located in old San Juan. The staff is kind, responsive and helpful. The Jr suite was spacious with a great view.

Just be prepared for cruise rush in the area and crowd checking in and out of property due to proximity of the port.

Some cleanliness issues- pool area had some wrappers and garbage around, dust in the registers in the room. Also the AC in the living room area wasn’t working great. Balcony was just a little standing balcony which I’m not sure was on the description of the room

First was the location, but once we entered the hotel we were blown away. The professionalism and warmth of the staff was more than expected. The building was absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed the amenities. The food was fabulous.

The hotel was beautiful. The rooms were comfortable.The bathroom state of the art. Thestaff was lovely and the food that we had from the market downstairs was delicious.I can't say enough about it . Location is great, very central for the old San Juan

The rooms are basic for the category of hotel. The pool area has zero facilities, you can’t even move the umbrellas so getting any form of shade is impossible. Air conditioning in the room is very noisy, you have to turn it off if you want to sleep. The buffet breakfast is pretty poor for the price you are paying the room, this could really do with some improvements! At the end of the day it is an expensive hotel and the value for money really isn’t there.

Here we sit after checking in at 9:00 AM. It is almost 3:00 PM and everyone in the lobby have gotten their rooms. We were told at 9:00 it would be a couple hours. Then at 11:00 we are told 2 hours. At 2:00 we were told it would be 4:00 because we asked for no feather pillows in our reservation. Folks who checked in after have gotten their rooms. Not too friendly and we are disappointed. Not sure front desk really cared. Wish us luck.

The Rumbao is in an ideal location for a visit to San Juan. Easy to complete a full walking tour of the old city right from the front door. There is a convenient rental car desk in the lobby so you can rent a car and return it back to the hotel garage for an excursion into the countryside. Directly across the street from the cruise piers. Recently refreshed, the room was comfortable and the furnishings in good condition. Housekeeping is deficient. Glassware in the room was not properly cleaned. The collection of towels provided varied daily with no discernable standard. Be aware that self parking actually works out to be more expensive than valet parking. Overall, excellent value for money based on location and the generally high standard of the facility.
