Property was beautiful and well mantained!

Super clean! The bed and bedding are 100000% the best I’ve ever slept in. Spacious room and bathroom. Restaurant and bar on site. Reservation desk was friendly, also great location

Not all staff were attentive. Restaurant staff were not horrible but not great. Left the impression that they didn’t want to be at work. Kind of weird.

The property was clean. The staff was really gray, and it was great on location walking distance from a lot of good restaurants. A lot of great sightseeing and the property had really nice restaurants and rooftops and easy to access their amenities.

The only thing I didn’t like is the elevators were small so only four people are allowed on the elevator at a time and it takes a while for the elevator to come so granted it is a smaller boutique hotel so that was it and then the phone in the room didn’t work maybe I didn’t know how to work it but other than that, it was great

El hotel no tiene un restaurante donde poder tomar el desayuno, que está incluido, y nunca hubo certeza por parte de los trabajadores de como funcionaba eso. Estuvimos 1 hora entre el rooftop y el café descifrando cómo y donde debíamos tomar el desayuno. El rooftop solo tiene brunch el fin de semana a partir de las 11am lo que condiciona el momento del desayuno. Y el café del primer piso no ofrece opciones de desayuno. Solo tienen panes y café.

Pequeño acogedor y bien ubicado

Las habitaciones que nos dieron demasiados pequeñas. No tenían ventanas solo unos pequeños ventanales muy pegados al techo que no permiten ventilación. La otra habitación que cogimos ni siquiera tenía ventanas, solo cristal quedaba al interior del edificio y no se podía.Abrir

The location is excellent, right in the heart of Old San Juan.

Our experience was extremely disappointing. We booked a room with two double beds because we were travelling with our teenage son, and only upon arrival did we discover that all of these rooms face an internal corridor. There are no windows to the outside, no natural light and virtually no ventilation. The room felt incredibly claustrophobic. The hotel offered us a paid upgrade, but the “upgrade” only included a tiny, very high window that let in almost no light. It did not solve the problem. What made the experience much worse was the attitude of the manager (a woman with long dark hair). Our son was ill with a high fever, so we simply asked if there was any room available with proper ventilation. Instead of showing empathy or trying to help, she responded with visible annoyance, rolling her eyes and making us feel as though our request was unreasonable. It was one of the least professional interactions we have experienced in a hotel of this category. A luxury hotel should never have rooms without proper natural light and ventilation, and certainly not management that treats guests with such a lack of empathy.

Eftersom vi stannade länge så sjönk standarden på städningen. De gjorde inte längre ”turn over”. Personalen hälsade inte i receptionen när man gick förbi.

I like the hotel's location, excellent service, and cleanliness. Fire alarm issue needs to abe addressed for safety and convenience.

On June 30, our first day, my room (311) and my children's room (310) were next to each other. Room 311 was located beside the mechanical room, which was extremely noisy, and I was unable to sleep. The following day, I asked the hotel staff if they could switch my room. They moved me to Room 305 while keeping my children in Room 310. However, Room 305 was noticeably smaller, with a single vanity and a smaller shower than Room 311. I later learned during checkout that both rooms were charged at the same rate. During our stay, the fire alarm went off multiple times, repeatedly interrupting our sleep. The hotel acknowledged the inconvenience and provided a $175 discount.

La ubicacion muy buena

No hay ventana al exterior ni ventilación alguna, se escucha todo, el personal no sabia nunca nada, la puerta de la habitación se estropeó y tenían que abrirla con ganzúa cada día cada vez que llegábamos al hotel, no podían imprimir factura ni nos dieron un recibo por lo que se pagó el primer dia. No supimos en los cinco días de estancia si el primer día se pagó en una tarjeta 3 habitaciones por cinco días o una habitación, bloqueando la tarjeta cuando pedimos que fuera solo una habitación o tres habitaciones una noche y al día siguiente se pagaría el resto con la tarjeta de otra persona que llegaba al día siguiente. No funcionaban los terminales de cafetería. El personal nunca sabía nada. Pedimos una habitación silenciosa y nos pusieron en medio de un patio donde mas ruido había. El personal de limpieza no vació la papelera del baño en tres días. Desastrosa estancia. Fuimos un grupo de 6 habitaciones, el viaje estupendo y la gente de San Juan inmejorable, pero el hotel fue un desastre de principio a fin.

La ubicación es perfecta para visitar el viejo San Juan. Tiene un buen rooftop con una pequeña piscina y restaurante al aire libre. Las vistas desde ahí son impresionantes.

Las habitaciones son interiores, salvo las suites. Es algo de lo que no se avisaba al reservar. La organización de los espacios interiores del hotel provoca muchísimo ruido y se escucha en las habitaciones. El personal del hotel no toma medidas cuando la gente hace ruido en los espacios comunes.

Excelente ubicación

Nos toco el piso 6, grave error. No podiamos estar tranquilos durante el dia ya que arriba esta el rooftop y el restaurante y fue horrible, demasiado ruido. Se pasaban arrastrando mesas y sillas y eso se escuchaba dentro de la habitación. Teniamos que salir al parque o buscar que hacer porque estar ahi era horrible.

Very convenient to everything we were doing.

The property was beautiful and the cafe was great. The room was large and the bathroom was very nice. The beds were very comfortable.

The rooftop pool was very underwhelming and there was only room for about 5 people to lounge up there. Our AC stopped working for the last 2-3 nights. We also both woke up with bites on our feet the second to last night of our stay and there were bloody marks at the end of one of the beds that weren’t there when we checked in. We were very uncomfortable and worried so we requested a new room for our last night. The staff completely dismissed our concerns and never responded to either email I sent detailing the situation and including pictures.

The location.

Alma was a wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of Old San Juan. If Old San Juan is the destination this felt like the optimum spot. The building fits the setting yet the interior is fully fresh and modern. Though we only dined at Mar&Rosa the food options are excellent for any meal required. The seafood at Mar&Rosa was great. Next time we will try Andaluz. The coffee shop seemed great as well though there were a number of great coffee shops just a few steps from the hotel as well. The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. The staff was very welcoming. I will highly recommend this place to anyone visiting San Juan.

Having a car was the biggest problem. Would not stay again if we had a car. We had to find parking. The hotel gave us a list. Fist one was full the second place was a little sketchy. But it worked

The building is clean and the staff is nice and helpful. The robes were top quality and the room was nicely appointed, even in the lower end room. There was no free breakfast but the cafe downstairs was excellent. The gym was small but had plenty of options (treadmill, elliptical, dumbells from 8 - 50 lbs, kettlebells, and medicine balls) The pool was small but had an excellent view and was perfect for cooling off in between basking in the sun.

The room walls are very thin and the room next to our decided inexplicably to have a loud gathering well past 1130-midnight. I will say that we texted the front desk to ask them to respect quiet hours and the noise stopped shortly after. The rooftop could benefit from some shaded area - umbrellas may be difficult for safety reasons but they could get creative with sun sail shades or the like.

This hotel is very well located. The room was fairly spacious and definitely comfortable. The bed was great. The rooftop is a wonderful place to relax or dine.

Our room had no window we could look out, just small ones high to bring in light. This was fine for our brief stay, but I would want some sort of view for a longer stay.

Excelente localización en el Viejo San Juan. Todo muy limpio y ordenado. La atención de los muchachos de la recepcion fue excelente.

Había una puerta muy sencilla entre la habitación que nos dieron y la vecina que no permitía la isolación acústica, ya que todo se oía. Los vecinos estuvieron hablando entre las 2 AM y las 3 AM, lo cual nos impidió un descanso satisfactorio.

The hotel is conveniently located on a nice square in the middle of the old town. The staff were friendly, and the facilities were clean, with everything working in good condition.

The only annoying aspect was the rather labyrinthic experience it took to get to our room. Also, the room was smaller than we had expected for the price.

Todo estuvo perfecto, pero el mayor plus es la ubicación y el rooftop con piscina.

La habitación podría ser un poco más grande y sería mejor si extendieran el horario de la piscina.

Excellent location in Old San Juan near the fort and a 10 min walk to the cruise terminal. Very nice roof terrace and restaurant. Friendly staff. The room was quiet. Bed was comfortable. Accessible charging sockets at the bedsides.

The room was very small. No desk, chair or table. No closet or wardrobe, only a rack of hangers in one corner. Very little place to put suitcases. Very little place to put down items at the sink. The one window looked out to kind of a open hallway space, so no view.

The bed was comfortable.

I didn’t like that I had booked my reservation months in advance and when i arrived no room was ready for me but while i was waiting a couple came to the desk and got a room quickly. They didn’t have a microwave in the room , which was silly and they didn’t even bother to give me a credit or something for the inconvenience of not having my room ready! I didn’t like how the shower was made and it was no door on the bathroom hinges. Overrall I give this hotel a 3/10. I would not want to stay again

The hotel is located in the heart Old San Juan. Its staff was professional and welcoming! We left some valuables in the safe and the staff secured our items and called us to retrieve them. We were so grateful! Gracias a Dios!! Good times!

Our room was in the floor below the restaurant. ‘Very noisy when furniture was being moved. Also poor sound-proofing for the adjoining room. ‘Heard more than we wanted too!

La localizacion es muy buena, detras de La Plaza Colon, se puede recorrer todo el viejo San Juan caminando desde el hotel. La instalacion es nueva, el tamano de las habitaciones y el bano son razonables. El personal es amable, profesional y con buena disposicion para ayudar ante cualquier pedido. La vista de la ciudad desde la azotea es muy bonita, especialmente en la noche.

Solamente proveen jabon de bano, shampoo y acondicionador., no tenian otros productos de aseo, lo cual para el precio por noche debia estar incluido. Eramos 4 personas en una habitacion doble y solo proveian toallas para tres. El agua caliente en horario donde muchas personas tomaban ducha, era deficiente. La piscina no es tal, es como un jacuzzi, con lo cual practicamente no invita al uso.

This is a lovely, well appointed hotel. There was clearly a lot of thought put into little touches. Everything from under bed lights that come on briefly to help navigate in the dark, to well placed hooks for your towel next to the shower in the bathroom. The staff are all exceptionally responsive and kind. The upstairs restaurant had excellent food and a wonderful view, and amazing staff as well. This place so exceeded my expectations and was the highlight of our stay in Old San Juan.

La ubicación formidable, a unos pasos del castillo de San Cristobal y al lado de Caficultura, un lugar formidable para desayunar. La calle de la fortaleza está super cerca y hay varios restaurantes cercas.

Cuando llegamos, nos asignaron una habitación en el piso 3, y no se que sucedía que se filtraba el o los sonidos de las puertas 🚪 de otras habitaciones, las personas que pasaban por el pasillo, etc...y era demasiado incómodo. Esos ruidos incluso cuando estábamos desempacando las maletas ya que recién habíamos llegado. Se lo dijimos a la recepción y KRISTAL, UNA CHICA EXCELENTE Y DEMASIADO AMIGABLE (LA misma que nos hizo el proceso de check-in), nos comprendió y nos cambió de una vez a otra habitación en el piso 6. Waoo....cambio radical...silenciosa, y nada de ruidos. Descansamos muy bien las noches venideras. Pero Kristal, fue clave, muy gentil.....excelente persona.

Room, food and drinks were amazing!

Was highly disappointed in the staff at the front door. A taxi was ordered for us to drive us 3 blocks to the cruise terminal. Possibly a $10 ride. We watched the taxi driver hand the bell hop cash. We were taken and at the cruise port the taxi driver demanded $75. We paid around $30 for a taxi from the airport to the hotel two days earlier. This was our second stay at this hotel and sadly will be our last. Break our trust and we are done.

Remarkable location in Old San Juan. Hotel newly renovated and well kept. Staff were unbelievably friendly, warm and responsive. Room was spacious and very clean.

The location in Old San Juan was phenomenal! Easy walking to great restaurants and attractions. Hotel is newly renovated with great amenities. The staff were exceptionally helpful and responsive. Amazing stay!

No breakfast - we LOVED the convenient location which couldn't have been better.

No exterior windows in the room. We talked at length with people at the desk about ordering us a taxi to get us to the cruise ship at the end of our stay. The ship was less than 10 minutes away. I tried to book a transfer on line, but they would have had to drive from the airport to the hotel and they suggested we have the hospital book a cab for us. The receptionist said it would cost us about $15. and she called a cab. When the cab arrived, the driver came in and slipped the woman cash. I asked hjm how much it would be and he mumbled something and put our bags in the trunk. I asked him again and he said, "Don't speak English". I got in the car with my friend and I asked again the cost - no answer and then we had arrived and he said, 'CASH $65.00". It was outrageous and clearly to both of us that this was well orchestrated and had been done many times before as thye "tip" given to the receptionist was seamlessly passed. At 84 yrs old and a professional photographer who travels all over the world constantly, there isn''t much that slips my eyes or mind!

Excellent location in Viejo San Juan. Close to restaurants and shops, easily walkable. Great rooftop bar and restaurant overlooking the city and piers. Rooms are well appointed with a clothes steamer, stocked mini bar (12 year old scotch), and munchies for sale. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was well stocked.

Some rooms do not have windows, which could be a plus or a minus. If you prefer a dark room for sleeping, they’re ideal. The windowless room was also very quiet as it had no exterior noise.

It was very noisy. The rooftop bar music resonates through the whole hotel so not great if you want a quiet night.

This was our second stay at this property prior to a cruise. The cruise port is only 3-4 blocks away. We asked the Alma staff to order us a taxi for the cruise port. They did. We then witnessed the cab driver talk with the bell hop and possibly hand him money. The taxi drove us the 3 blocks to the cruise port..we were then expected to pay the taxi driver $75 American!! He yelled at us in Spanish when we said “no”!! Long story short..we were extorted for a lot of money for a $10 dollar drive. If you know San Juan..you know we could not have walked with our luggage on a down hill road made of cobble stone. Shame on you Alma..we held you at great regard until this incident!!
