I really did enjoy the holiday. The hotel however was a slight let down. The friendliness of the cleaning staff was excellent. They were busy all day long and very helpful. The breakfast staff and the bar staff in the evening were also helpful. Bus service was great also.
The “youth club gang” there was one attentive life guard, and one boy who was overwhelmed by bikinis. The bar staff through the day were either trying VERY badly to pull off a joke atmosphere, or they were just happy there was no boss about. There was a female staff member there and they were so uninterested with my request. I felt like a piece of s**t. (I asked for a cocktail with no ice) she rolled here eyes and muttered in Italian, what ever she said was hilarious to her co worker, very unprofessional.Told my wife, never again. The reception staff through the day need some serious customer care. I noticed a class difference, I wore a black band T-shirt and jean shorts, told minimal information, fobbed off, rolling eyes.. wore a suit the following night.. all smiles etc.. same person.. I know some people have off days. But for the price I paid for the room.. your off days should’ve be a day off for the customer experience.
Uima-allasalue oli viihtyisä. Maisema oli upea. Parveke oli kiva.
Aamupala oli niukka ja yksipuolinen.
All thing was excellent
The rooms were clean and serviced every day. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the transfer to the city center was very convenient. The pool was large and had plenty of sun loungers.
The breakfast was a bit repetitive, with almost the same food every day.

Comfy beds, amazing pool, nice breakfast, really good air conditioning, clean, good shuttle transfer
Nothing
Our family room was very spacious and the beds very comfortable. The complimentary bowl of fruit and bottled water was very welcomed. The breakfast buffet had lots of choice. The live music provided by the saxophone player was brilliant as was our cocktails on the terrace. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. Finally we were able to park our car outsides the hotel which was a huge bonus.
Unfortunately an ashtray with a used cigar was left on the outside table which was a shame as room was very clean otherwise. And there was noticeable damage to the wall by the main door.
The hotel, staff, location and general everything was excellent. Breakfast is good.

מלון נקי וגדול בריכה יפה ומתוחזקת, צוות העובדים נחמד מאוד
ארוחת בוקר דלה יחסית למלון כזה מבחר מאוד מצומצם
Location is good - nice view Pool is good - bar options
Rooms need some upgrades Very very poor breakfast options No Imagination at all And it’s the same every day For the price you pay - you expect top notch food Guests walking around with empty plates looking what to eat !!!!
Rooms were tidy and the pool/bar staff were fantastic. The reception staff however, left a lot to be desired.
Three of our party got food poisoning around 5 days into our stay, instead of trying to be helpful, the hotel went on the defensive. They went as far as examining a pizza box we left outside our door and insinuated that we were still eating despite having food poisoning. I advised that my daughter was the one who wasn’t unwell and we did still have to feed her. The front desk staff were unprofessional, unhelpful, negligent of their clients and if I could give this hotel less than 1 star I would. Absolutely avoid.
Great location staff were amazing

מלון נקי, מרווח עם נופים מדהימים על סורנטו וצוות מהמם ודואג לכל בקשה
This hotel was all about the view for us. We had booked a room with a sea view and it was definitely worth it. We normally stay at small family run hotels so this was a change for us but overall this hotel didn't disappoint. Our room was bright and spacious and the pool is a very good size with plenty of sunbeds and when we did spend time around the pool it was nice to have the quieter garden area with sunbeds at the front of the hotel but with easy access to the pool. We did not have any complaints about the food overall. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and a four course meal in the evening except for the two evenings when there was a buffet. The waiters were great and very attentive. We would agree with some earlier reviews that mention the chipped crockery (salad bowls in the evening) which we do not think is acceptable in any hotel and we also had a bathroom door that did not shut properly and a shaving mirror that was not well fixed to the wall but these were minor issues overall and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grand Hotel Vesuvio. Sorrento is a good base to explore the Amalfi coast. We spent a day and two mornings exploring Sorrento - the shops, Marina Grande harbour, the view of the Bay of Naples from the Villa Communale park is a definite must see and enjoying an iced cold latte whilst people watching. The free shuttle bus from the hotel was very welcome and we never had any difficulty getting a seat on this despite it being the high season. We would also recommend boat trips to Amalfi/Positana and Capri/Anacapri - all very busy but the views are beautiful especially from Capri/Anacapri - chairlift is a must in Anacapri if you do not have a fear of heights. We would also recommend the day excursion to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius - its a tough climb to the top of Mount Vesuvius but worth it for the view of Naples and the crater itself. We had a very enjoyable week in Sorrento and the Grand Vesuvio was a good base for our stay.
The position
Trop loin du centre. La navette commence à 9 heures ce qui oblige à prendre un taxi (30€ pour quelques minutes pour se rendre au centre!) pour commencer certaines activités
my partner and teenage daughter shared a triple room on the third floor. The room was lovely and spacious with a balcony overlooking Mount Vesuvius. Roll down metal lock door that doubles as blackout blind. Smart TV so you can log in to your netflix or prime. A stocked minibar and locksafe. Plenty cupboard space to unpack. powerful shower. Noisy kids next door but didnt really hear them much. The food was lovely and priced pretty much same as you get in Scotland for drinks, and food. Our included meals were breakfast and dinner and gives you lots to choose from. The staff were friendly and helpful the entire time and couldnt do enough for you. There was live music every evening, nice background music and wind down to the day. The free shuttle bus was great into the town and back just a 10min drive, not really walkable as there are not pavements on the hilly windy road and lots of buses, so definately taxi or bus it. Taxis were 30 Euro one way to town, so worth seeing if someone in the hotel is going on the same tour and share with them as most day tours start early like 8am and buses only start after 9am. There is an ATM in the hotel but they are dotted all over the town as well. The pool was great, busy but always managed to find a lounger. Would definately recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Sorrento.
Arrived at the hotel around 11.30pm. Check in was quick and before we new it we were in our room. We were left some cold vegetable's on a plate with a bred roll and some fruit, Nice touch but not really something you want to be eating at 11.30pm so we left this. Aircon in the room was great and the room and bathroom was very clean. Downside was being left paper cups to drink out of and no kettle or tea and coffee making facilities available. For a 4 start hotel I would expect this. The bed was also two single beds pushed together, didn't really bother us but I can understand why this may be a problem for some. There was some shampoo and bars of soap to use in the bathroom, but I always bring my own. Breakfast: I feel let down by Breakfast, firstly there are too many staff standing around and to be honest getting in the way. There was not much choice unless you like croissants, cakes (left over cake from night before) muffins. There is a little bit of fresh fruit but the rest is tinned fruit (again I wouldn't expect this for a four star hotel) some yogurts and cereals but not lots of choice. I took one look at the scrambled eggs, bacon, tinned mushrooms and some kind of potatoes and decided they wasn't for me. I did go all in one morning and try the scrambled egg because I just wanted some protein but they were not good and in my opinion were powdered eggs. Apparently you can ask them to make you some fried eggs or an omelette but I had not been informed about this until the last day by another visitor to the hotel. Its not something they inform you off. I did enjoy the coffee though We tended to swap our evening meal for lunch because we wanted to go out and eat most evenings and you had better choice at lunch time because there was two menus to choose from. I didn't rate the main menu that you could choose a starter, main and pudding. The pudding was only ever ice cream. It never really explained what come with the main meal, so one night I ordered meatballs and it came with what I would describe as smash, and frozen vegetables. The food was not horrible but it was very poor choice and basic ingredients. One night was a buffet but what they had out just did not go together. I know when we stayed some people thought the food was lovely and some didn't so I guess its just down to your own opinion. The pool area was lovely and it was great not having to fight for a sunbed, the pool water was not to cold. and the prices for drinks at the bar I thought was ok and not to expensive. We didn't drink at the bar at night because we went out but on nights we returned earlier the bar always seemed empty. The shuttle bus was great that took you in to Sorrento but got very busy so make sure you show up on time so you can get on the bus. Sorrento and surrounding areas can work out expensive eating out so always check the menu and make sure you know what the cover charge is to sit at a table. some vary from 2.50 euros pp to 10.00 euros pp. It normally tells you on the menu in small print but you can always ask before you sit. You can be charged this also if you just want drinks We booked our trips through the hotel and we had no issues. We booked guided tour for Capri, Amalfi coast, and half day Pompei. Pompei was just half a day due to the heat. The other two trips were full days and although they were great they were hard going due to the heat and not being much shade. they can also be expensive and drinks and food are not included. On the last day of check out you needed to be out your room by 11am, When checking out I asked if we were still ok to have lunch because we were at the hotel until 18.00. We were told no. Apparently the dinner we were left in our room on the night of arrival was to cover our lunch on the day of departure. Like I said I didn't want to eat cold veg at 11.30pm at night plus we had already had a meal deal at the airport before setting off. I didn't agree with this and made it clear to them but it didn't change anything. I went out for lunch because at that point I didn't want to give the hotel anymore of my money. Also all drinks in your fridge are chargeable even the water. for a 4 star hotel you should get water for free in your room I wouldn't return to this hotel, its in an ok location and the pool area was lovely but the very basic food options really let it down.
This hotel has an old fashioned charm and the staff are exceptionally helpful especially in the restaurant. The hotel and rooms are clean and towels replaced daily.Thankfully the air-con worked very well which we were grateful for after very hot days.We used the shuttle bus which ran on time and it was handy to swop dinner for lunch so we could eat out in Sorrento. We went to Capri and the Amalfi coast tours ,both great experiences and we did a pizza making class which was great fun. Naples airport is a bit shambolic on departure but you just have to go with it .Brilliant holiday.
Positives: The shuttle bus service is very convenient, free parking is a big plus, and the hotel is in a good location. The cocktails at the first-floor bar were excellent. The barman makes very good drinks and the prices are reasonable.
Negatives: Unfortunately, the breakfast was horrible and definitely not what I would expect from a 4-star hotel. The swimming pool towel policy is also very disappointing. You receive only one towel per person for the whole week. If you want a fresh/washed towel, you have to pay $5 each time. In my opinion, this is unhygienic and ridiculous for a 4-star hotel. There is also a strong smell of cigarettes in many areas of the hotel. The rooms are very basic — for example, there isn’t even a kettle to make tea or coffee in the room.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Stay at the Grand Hotel Vesuvio, Sorrento We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Grand Hotel Vesuvio in Sorrento. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredible – so warm, welcoming and genuinely friendly. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and they really made us feel looked after throughout our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, with fantastic views, a lovely pool and a really relaxing atmosphere. The shuttle into Sorrento was also really convenient. What stood out most for us, though, was the staff. Their kindness and hospitality made such a difference and turned a great holiday into a really memorable one. We absolutely loved our stay and would happily return. Highly recommended!

המזגן היה קצת חלש והמרחק ממרכז העיר קצת בעייתי חמרות שלנו היה אופנוע.
Beautiful pool. Clean rooms, good food, great staff.
A bit out of town but there is a free shuttle bus
Very clean and bright. Great views from our sea view rooms. Bar staff very friendly and welcoming.Great pool and comfortable sun lounges. 5 mins outside Sorrento, offering some quiet time.
Breakfasts were repetitive and choice was limited. Did not open the balcony area for breakfast. It was only opened for lunch, which I found unacceptable. Bus transfers into Sorrento were good but there was a lack of planning in relation to numbers of hotel residents want to return to the hotel a peak times. Many families could not get on the bus.
Excellent Customer Service
None
The staff were amazing and really went out of there way for us. Always helpful and friendly. Could not fault them.
It was more a 3 star hotel not 4. Pictures are not what it is. Very basic and old in parts. Bit dirty in parts too. Dirt marks up wall-in room, broken furniture. Pool area had this constant loud noise when water was hitting drains , it’s like the pool water filter system was broke. Not relaxing to sit round pool. Sun-beds dirty and many broke. Sorry but food wasn’t great at all. Location - nothing around there so have to go town even for supermarket so have to take shuttle bus as walking there on busy roads is not safe. Or taxi which is 30 euros.
Un emplazamiento estupendo con vistas al Vesubio. Un hotel muy cómodo con amplia habitación. Buenos servicios. Parking gratuito
No se firman las cuentas de gastos de comidas, etc. Al final terminas pagando alguna cosa que no has consumido.
it is only 5 minutes from Sorrento Center and good parking area.
Breakfast war very poor and inspite being in Italy where the fruits schould be fresh they had one day no fruits but from a can. rezeption were not friendly and english was hardly spoken. The worst part waas the cleaning because i had to complain twice in ordder to get the room clean and it was not that much at the end.
Gran piscina sin problema para coger sitio. Amplia habitación
Dejaban beber dentro de la piscina a los ingleses sin saber comportarse
I cannot rate this place enough, lovely staff, great food. A real personal touch. The staff in the restaurant were exceptional. Everyday we were greeted wirh smiles, handshakes. Special shout out to Roberto and Giuseppe aswell as the Restaurant Manager. These guys were 100% attentive and charming. 5 star service all day.
Rooms were clean and air conditioning was great. Pool was fab and plenty of sunbeds and sun umbrellas available daily. Breakfast was very nice.
Feeder bus is available to bring hotel guests into Sorrento centre but was often full so you had to wait around for driver to go and come back again. This happened regularly and meant a lot of hanging around on way into the centre and trying to get back to the hotel also.
We recently stayed here as a family of 5 (3 teenagers). Overall a positive experience. Set high up on the hill side, the hotel has beautiful views across the bay. Everywhere was very clean and we received fresh towels every day. My children enjoyed the large pool and there were always sufficient sun beds both next to the pool and in a quiet, shadier garden space, if like me, you don’t want too much sun. I made use of the gym on a few occasions which had all the basics in it. We loved the restaurant food and everyone found something they liked. I particularly enjoyed the fish. The only downside to dinner was having to purchase drinks. I would’ve expected a water machine. We welcomed the opportunity to swap dinner for lunch and ate out in Sorrento on a few evenings. Personally, however, I missed the food at the hotel, which was nicer. Breakfast was pretty standard, with water, coffees and juices alongside continental and a few cooked food options. Again, everyone found something they liked. The shuttle bus into Sorrento was great although we did have to wait for the next one on a couple of occasions as it was full (at night time). The driver came straight back for us so we didn’t have to wait for too long. Taxis are very expensive. We were quoted 30 Euros so passed on that one. We went on some lovely trips. The train was inexpensive and reliable; it took us to both Pompei and Herculaneum. We took ferries to Capri and Amalfi. Finally we used local bus service (Sita) to Positano, which I wouldn’t recommend (very hot and overcrowded). My children have a very poor opinion of Positano as they arrived hot and bothered and feeling a bit ill! Staff were all very attentive and did a great job. A couple of them seemed a bit grumpy, but they were pretty busy! I doubt I’ll return because there are so many other places I want to see in the world, but I would recommend this hotel to others.
We spent three weeks on our honeymoon across Europe and stayed in nine different hotels, and unfortunately this was by far the worst experience of the entire trip. The only positives were that the hotel is large, has a beautiful sea view, and the property itself is clean and well maintained. Everything else was extremely disappointing. The hotel simply pushes two twin beds together and calls it a double bed. On the first night my husband got stuck between the beds, and on the next two nights I did. It was incredibly uncomfortable and unacceptable for a hotel charging such a high tariff. The rooms don’t even have a kettle for tea or coffee, which we could have overlooked. But what was truly surprising was that the room was stocked with paper cups instead of proper glasses. That felt very cheap for a hotel in this price range. The breakfast was another disappointment. The spread was quite limited and had very little to offer for vegetarians. Across the many hotels we stayed at during our trip, this was one of the weakest breakfast buffets we encountered. The selection lacked variety, and it certainly did not meet the standard we expected from a hotel in this category. The hotel advertises a free shuttle service between the hotel and the city centre, but in reality it is highly impractical. The hotel is located uphill, and walking is neither safe nor convenient because there are no proper pedestrian paths. The biggest problem is that there is only one shuttle bus. During the day it may be manageable, but at night there were so many people waiting that the shuttle became completely full. The driver could not accommodate many of us and simply asked us to wait another 45 minutes for the next shuttle. As a result, we had to spend a significant amount on taxis just to get back to the hotel. The shuttle timings are also very strange, and it doesn’t operate for several hours in the afternoon. The final incident completely ruined whatever goodwill we had left. On our last morning, at the breakfast buffet, I was simply reading the label on a basket of sweet pastries. A man in a suit, who appeared to be a manager, came over almost immediately and told me they were gluten-free. He then asked if I was gluten-free. I replied, “No, I was just having a look.” He responded with, “Then keep it down, it’s for gluten-free people.” I was shocked by how rude and insulting that was. I had not taken anything from there, I was only reading the label. That interaction was completely unnecessary and left me feeling humiliated. Considering the amount we paid, this hotel was a huge disappointment. The facilities and service simply do not justify the price, and the attitude of the staff made the experience even worse. This hotel ended up spoiling the last few days of our honeymoon, and we would never recommend it to anyone.
Staff gentile, ottimo cibo. Parcheggio gratuito.
Bar piscina poco fornito, in piscina non sono rispettate le regole ( gonfiabili e giochi a palla )
There were two staff in the bar on an evening who were amazing unfortunately I don’t know their names . All the other staff were utterly ignorant
The bathroom was a disgrace. The room had ants and mould. The staff were some of the rudest I have ever met. At check in and check out
The hotel has some charm. The lobby and dining area or decorated and designed well. However, there are now decorative touches on the floor with guest rooms making the space feel a bit dormitory. The room was a good size. Our rooms view was of the three other balconies next to our room and then the Greenway. The breakfast had lots of options and the staff were efficient. I don't recommend the potatoes as everyday they were cold and felt like leftovers. With a couple of exceptions, the front desk staff were a bit gruff. However, of the front desk staff that we interacted with there were 2 who were lovely and.offered great restaurant options and activite ideas.
location, room, facilities, shuttle to the city center, the staff is very helpful. the AC was very good.
shower heads were not clean, there was limescale on the shower heads and some mold in the bathroom
Très bon hôtel, avec très belle piscine. Toujours des places sur les transats. Très confortable. Magnifique vue.
Grand Vesuvio delivered everything we wanted: breathtaking sea views, a massive refreshing pool, and warm, attentive Italian hospitality. The free shuttle into town was super convenient. We can't wait to return! Large spacious clean rooms. A big shout out to all the staff. Especially Brixton (who is naturally hilarious and should be the entertainment) Sergio (bar manager) Michel, Aldo, Lorenzo, Hilary and Nico at the pool bar. Miss Chardonnay and Miss Chianti miss you and will be back!
Everything
Lovely hotel - quite large the 1st floor area is stunning full of orchids and white flowers . Rooms recently refurbished and definitely worth paying for a view - amazing - and bar area also looks over the bay . Dinner menu repeats after a week and it is worth swapping out for lunch on a few days and going out for dinner. We never really had a problem getting a lounger and it isn’t the sort of place where people get their towels out early in the morning . Bar prices reasonable . Complimentary bus into town.
Personnel peu arrangeant. Bon plan pour un tourisme de masse
Had a really lovely stay at this hotel with my adult daughter. We were grateful to receive a ready prepared meal on arrival at almost midnight... delicious. The room was clean and spacious with a view of the hills and countryside. The food was excellent... especially all the traditional desserts and fresh fish. We had a minor issue with the rain showerhead which wet the floor when in use but this will be easily rectified. The main issue for us was that we were only supplied with 4 mini poor quality shampoo, no conditioner at all and no body wash. We didn't mind buying our own but it seemed stingy for what is otherwise an excellent 4 * hotel. Be prepared because there is no local shop.! The drinks were reasonably priced so mostly our money went on taxis -- 30 euros a time into Sorrento. Although the free shuttle was an option, we often needed to start our day earlier than the first bus leaving at 9 am. We thought the staff were lovely and helpful and a special mention goes to Giuseppe in the restaurant for his friendliness. We loved the coffee at breakfast and of course the incredible views. We were additionally grateful that we were permitted to keep our room for a few extra hours on our final day for a fee. Thank you for a lovely hotel experience.
Excellent hotel. Very friendly staff and loved the food. It’s a bit outside sorrento but they have a free shuttle bus (no service between 1 and 4). Plenty of sun beds, hardly no one put their towels out reserving a bed. Plenty of selection for breakfast. The orange juice was a bit hit and miss. If you paid for the half board option you are able to swap your evening meal for the lunch meal which has nice seating area by the pool. It’s the same menu both for the evening meal and lunch which you have a three course meal. At lunch time you have an additional snack menu where you can pick one thing from it plus have a dessert. This is better if you have children or picky eaters. The snack menu had pizzas, burgers, toasted sandwiches,,,, We did this most of the time as our teenager didn’t like anything from the three course menu. We would go into sorrento in the evening and have a light snack or ice cream. There isn’t a supermarket close by but we had a mini bar with water, cola, Fanta and beer. Would have liked a diet soda option. The drinks were well priced. Three euros for a can or a large bottle of water. A lovely hotel with amazing views. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Dirty, musty, moldy rooms. Makes it all very uncomfortable. Location it ok but most rooms don’t get a view. They charge for the bottles and cans in the fridge but says know where in the room that they do. Staff are nice and the dinner was good. If this wasn’t the hotel the tour we were on told us to be at there’s no way we would’ve stayed at this place.
We have just returned from a two week stay for our Silver Wedding Anniversary. From our arrival to departure, every single member of staff treated us like a VIP. From bringing our cases to the room on arrival, to delivering drinks on an evening when we were tired the team showed that nothing was too much. We stayed on a half board basis which allowed us to swap our evening meal for lunch. We did this most days and every meal was excellent. The pool area of the hotel is also well kept and with plentiful sunbeds. With many using this as a base for further exploration, the pool area was never too busy. The hotel was kept very clean with a daily cleaning service. The courtesy shuttle bus was a welcome addition, with a reliable and prompt service. We enjoyed every moment of our stay and extend our thanks for a memorable trip.
Flot beliggenhed og super service med shuttle bus til byen. Morgenmads buffetten var fin, men ikke så variereret.
Der manglede en ekstra stol på terrassen til værelset og et tørrestativ
The Grand Hotel Vesuvio may once have lived up to its name, but unfortunately it now feels tired and in need of investment. Many areas seem dated and lacking the welcoming atmosphere you would expect from a four-star hotel. The reception staff during the day could be friendlier. A smile and a more welcoming attitude would make a much better first impression. In contrast, the restaurant staff were consistently pleasant, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. The biggest disappointment was the food. It was the poorest dining experience we’ve had at a hotel. The menu offered very little choice, the portions felt overly restricted, and the presentation was uninspiring. Meals were served on chipped and damaged crockery, which only added to the feeling that standards have slipped. The rooms include a minibar fridge, but bottled water comes at an extra charge. While the hotel states that the tap water is safe to drink, we personally preferred not to risk it. There is no kettle in the room as standard. If you request one, the hotel will provide it, but you are expected to supply your own tea, coffee, milk, etc . There is also no iron or ironing facilities available in the room, which is disappointing for a hotel of this rating. The complimentary toiletries are only sample-sized, which may not be sufficient for more than a very short stay. The pool area could also do with some attention. You are given one pool towel, but if you want a fresh one, there is a €5 charge for each replacement. The sun loungers, like much of the hotel, appear to have seen better days. One real positive was the complimentary shuttle bus into Sorrento. It was reliable, punctual, and made it easy to get into town for meals and to escape the uninspiring hotel .The drivers were friendly, helpful, and a credit to the hotel. Overall, while there were some positives—particularly the restaurant staff and shuttle service—the hotel no longer reflects the standard you would expect from a four-star property. With some investment, improved attention to detail, and a better dining experience, it could once again live up to its name. What a shame . One thing this hotel has that they couldn’t spoil is the View , truly spectacular
Loved the hotel, it was just as good if not better than on their website. Everything was perfect for the whole of our six night stay in Sorrento. Breakfast being included in your room price is a great bonus but the other big plus is the free shuttle bus back and fore from the hotel into the town center. Leaving from 9am regularly until 11pm (excluded siesta time 1-4pm). The hotel is situated in a beautiful hillside location looking out at Mount Vesuvius across the Bay of Naples with the town center about 25 minute walk downhill. Customer Service from hotel staff is brilliant. Helpful in every way. We would happily return to the Grand Vesuvio if we return to Sorrento.
Just back from a fantastic week here. Hotel spotless clean, spacious , sea view incredible. Staff so friendly and helpful, biggest mention to Brixton he works so hard always with a smile and exceptional service, he made my family so welcome and made us laugh lots , people like him make a difference and the hotel should be proud of him ! Night time entertainment music just right for us coming back after dinner We were half board, breakfast ok, we prefer to eat out in town so many amazing places so swapped for lunch which was fine lots of choices. The dinner menu wasn’t for us Lots of sun beds lovely big pool Shuttle bus great but get there early at busy times as fills up. Trip to positano ravello Amalfi organised through hotel fabulous , driver we had was an amazing guide , other trips seem to be cheaper through hotel too we found
les chambres sont plutôt correctes
on mange pas bien. l'hotel fait un peu bolus soviétique. pas chaleureux. j'avais la vue sur un mur.
We booked this hotel as part of a package with Jet2 Holidays. It's a solid 2 star hotel, no more, no less. The reception area is plush and grand. The hotel rooms are reasonably nice, if not a bit clinical in style and a little rough around the edges with filled in holes from past fixtures and fittings and a grotty balcony. There is no iron, the hair dryer is abysamally rubbish, there are no tea/coffee making facilities, and there are paper cups in the rooms. If the hotel wants to be a proclaimed 3 or 4 star, they need to improve this offering amongst many others. The room corridors are also clinical and give off hospital vibes. The air con throughout the hotel is not the best - it's difficult to escape the heat, other than down in reception. The dining hall is muggy and hot as is the bar area. This is because while the air con is pumping away the staff keep the windows and doors wide open - bizarre. The breakfast is 1 star hotel vibes, its classicly European but worse. The evening meal is okay. The pool area is dated but okay, it has great views. Look beyond your balcony and there is old infrastructure just dumped, it looks grotty and looks untidy with bits of rust around. It's not worth the price.
We had a wonderful stay. The service was friendly, attentive and very fast thought out our stay. The hotel pool was large and had plenty of lounge chairs and relaxing areas.
I found the breakfast didn’t have much of a variety.
Beautiful hotel with stunning views
Facilities were very good and great location
La camera con vista mare
Colazione solo internazionale,dí italiano non c’era nulla…. Lavorano solo x stranieri
מלון מצוין מרווח נקי ומסודר נוף מעולה מהמרפסת לכיוון הים ארוחת בוקר טובה מאוד .
Facilities excellent..Very clean.Lovely room.Comfy beds.
In July the shuttle bus coming back from Sorrento each night is jam packed. There are usually people left behind. Could do with an extra bus or more trips. You have to be at the stop at least 15 mins before. Its all a bit undignified.
This is the second year running we have stayed at the hotel . Again, none of us wanted to go back home. I think the thing that makes the hotel special is the staff. Every single one. You just can’t single anyone out. Everyone is extremely helpful, happy and friendly. Hotel is spotlessly clean with views to die for. Most days we took our half board option at lunchtime and went to the main square for dinner. Used taxis and the shuttle. Good selection of food for all meals and prices of food and drink are reasonable. No negative comment to make not even constructive feedback. Just love this hotel (and I am quite fussy!).
The breakfast is not enough edpecially the vegetables
The hotel was clean and staff were accommodating. helpful and friendly. Up a steep hill but shuttle bus to town provided to guests free of charge, although none in the afternoon which was a pain because we paid £29 euros for a taxi.. Room was bright and airy and the a/c was fantastic. Large room with 2 big wardrobes, drawers. Lots of storage. Rooms cleaned daily and were spotless. Nice bar area with terrace and sea view. We upgraded to a sea view which was lovely the views were to die for. Unfortunately this also meant the balcony was facing onto the main road and the traffic is relentless from early morning right until the early hours with buses, taxis and very loud scooters and mopeds. Couldn’t hear a thing when the door was closed in the room thankfully but did make it hard to sit on the balcony in the evening and relax, we couldn’t hear ourselves think. Not the hotels fault obviously but we paid a good bit of money for the upgraded room so this is something to be taken into consideration. Also no tea or coffee making facilities and paper cups provided rather than glasses. Food wasn’t great. The breakfast despite having good choice was basic and a bit old fashioned - tinned fruit, UHT yogurt, tinned mushrooms, prepackaged muffins and pastries, a little disappointing and not what I would expect from a 4 star. Pool bar cafe food was quite awful. Served lukewarm with what I can only imagine was leftover cold chips from the buffet. Toasted sandwiches partially toasted with congealed cheese, club sandwich that was bland and not what we would call club Sandwich. However the staff were amazing and apologised and took it off our bill. We didn’t wat dinner there so can’t comment on that. . The most disappointing thing was the pool area. The rest of the hotel was lovely and modern but the pool area was like going back in time to the 70s. Dated with old style loungers and no real space around the pool. In no way inviting or relaxing everyone seemed crammed in and it was loud and busy. Can only imagine that will get worse throughout the summer as we visited early July before the real summer season kicks in. A hotel this size really needs more than one pool area and we would have like an adults only or quieter area of the hotel to relax in, however there was nowhere other than our room to do this. All in all we had a pleasant stay but it was definitely lacking in 4 star amenities.
La piscina, la camera con balcone vista mare, la posizione, la pulizia
La cucina
At der var shuttle bus til centrum
Free Shuttle bus, pool towels, robes and slippers in the room, clean smell everywhere, sheets everyday.
No axcess to the sea but not the hotels fault.
Loved our 3 nights stay here. Breakfast was good. Pool view was gorgeous and pool was a godsend. Shuttle bus worked well. Taxis are expensive we were quoted €35 from train station to hotel (literally 5 mins but not safe to walk!) Staff very attentive Amazing fresh fruit in room on arrival which was so appreciated after a hot and hectic journey from pompei. We paid for lunch and dinner separately during our stay. Pretty basic I’d say for something classed as à la carte but paying for convenience. Would recommend
Expensive but it was a nice hotel in a lovely location so expected to pay more!
Free shuttle to center. The reception area was spacious and welcoming, creating a great first impression. I also really liked the color scheme throughout the hotel; it was calm and relaxing.
The bed sheets were not changed every day, which I found disappointing. The overall service at the hotel was quite basic.
Locatia si vederea din balcon au fost wow
Poolområdet & utsikten. Rummet med utsikt mot havet var fint
Frukosten hade lite begränsat utbud
Unassuming hotel to look at from the outside but public areas very nice. Rooms very basic but more than adequate. Ask for a kettle and one will be provided. Front of hotel rooms have stunning views of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. Located up hill about a mile from Sorrento. Personally it wasn't a problem for me as I didn't think it that steep but those with difficulty walking might struggle. There is a footpath for much of it except for about 200 yards after walking through the olive grove opposite the hotel. Just be careful. Having said that the hotel provides an excellent shuttle service into town, just not in the afternoons, but runs quite late into the evening. Food OK on the whole but compared with other hotels I have stayed at, somewhat limited, particularly, breakfast and salad buffet in the evening. Pool area very nice. Lots of sunbeds and pool bar. Staff friendly and helpful.
The Hotel is set in a beautiful Area of Sorrento. A 15 min bus ride from the city centre. Pros Shuttle bust runs to town very day. Times are regular. The dining room staff are great. Jackonania and Roberto are great and helpful Food is okay, remember to ask for eggs etc at breakfast. If you don’t ask you don’t get. They do poached/ fried / scrambled eggs Cons A little dated / it states 4 stars I think just. The bathrooms could do with a good scrub. They’re not dirty they just need a little clean in the more detailed areas - around the bath etc where the silicone strip is The reception furniture is very dated. This definitely needs an upgrade. The Ac needs to be stronger. The food was mixed At times okay At others below par. Overall 7/1O. A decent hotel with good amenities and located in a good area away from the noise. The shuttle bus is great. A good clean and a good upgrade to some aspects this hotel will deffo be a good 4 **** hotel. Would we come back. Yes if the upgrades are done.
The hotel was very nice. great location and easy access to the town. The pool area was perfect for relaxation.
This is a really good hotel and resort with many positive points: - the hotel food is excellent, of restaurant quality and well presented . I have stayed in 4 star all-inclusives where after a week, I was getting bored with the vast choice and cafeteria vibe. At the vesuvio despite the fixed menu (with several options), the quality of the food at the evening meal is such, that I was never tempted to eat anywhere else. Breakfasts have fairly limited choice of items, but it is all good. This is the best Italian food that I have tasted. The service in the evening is provided by waiters at the table - classy. - the pool is large, well maintained and there was no shortage of sun beds at any time. No need to rush for the pool at the start of the day. - the staff are very professional. They are friendly without being intrusive and the quality of the service at meals and in the bar is flawless. - I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices of drinks at the bar and in the resort. I never thought that we were being scalped at any time. - The rooms cannot be criticised - everything is good, with good availability of lifts - The shuttle service between the hotel and resort is very convenient and punctual. There was never any shortage of seats on the transport, although the service does stop between 1 and 4 - The views from the hotels elevated position are stunning - Sorrento is lovely with an excellent vibe and the people are friendly and helpful. Unlike Turkish resorts, there is no hassling of customers in the shops or sharp pricing practices. On one occasion, we made a mistake and paid a bar bill twice - the staff member pointed it out, which would not happen in many places. The only bad point point about the hotel is the restricted access on foot to the resort. The centre of Sorrento is about 20 minutes walk away, but about half of that is along a busy road with no pavement and sharp bends restricting visibility. It is possible to walk into the resort, but one has to be very careful indeed. The hotel is suited to adults of a certain age (no discos or pool side entertainment). The evening entertainment is relatively low key - piano singers etc. There were children staying at the hotel, but teenagers would probably find it a little boring. Basically, the hotel clientele is 40 plus, so some people might find it a little staid. All in all - a wonderful holiday and a marvellous hotel
This hotel was excellent. The rooms were large for a family of 4 we ended up extending our stay as we loved it that much. The staff were extremely helpful and the rooms were cleaned everyday to great standards.
A steamer/iron in room would be good ( there is an ironing room in foyer, which is great but just a bit inconvenient) and maybe a kettle for a cup to tea. But other than that it was amazing.
Pool area good
Had a suite yet the "lounge" part was really just a spare bedroom with some chairs in it. Lots of space but ......
Great location and excellent rooms and breakfast with great views
All very good
Clean, shuttle bus to Sorrento downtown, good staff .
Distance to sorrento
We had a lovely holiday at The Grand Vesuvio , the views are amazing . The staff were pleasant (except one grumpy older man called Guiseppe who was quite rude) the housekeeping team did a great job , the rooms were spotless with regular fresh towels and bed linen. A special mention to Brixton in the bar he is a credit to the hotel, service with a smile ! The outside bar terrace was lovely, inside the furniture is a bit tired looking though Lovely background entertainment each evening. The swimming pool was a great size and perfect temperature.
We visited the Grand Hotel Vesuvio for the first time at the end of May 2026 and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. This was our 4th time in Sorrento but first at this hotel. The staff were polite and very helpful. The hotel was clean throughout including the pool area and gardens. We were half board, the breakfast was delicious serving a variety of egg choices if you asked. The evening meal choices were varied and again delicious. The pool area was spacious with plenty of available sun beds, the pool itself was very clean. The bar area is perfect for relaxing in the evening with a drink and entertainment. There is a regular return shuttle bus into Sorrento which is very useful for visiting the town. Select a sea room view room if you can, the views are amazing. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel and we will be returning soon. Thank-You to all the staff for giving us such a wonderful holiday experience. We will see you again soon.
Hotel is lovely and clean. However the food lets it down terribly. Really unimaginative courses and dessert is always ice cream or the same cake every day….. Virtually nothing to eat for vegetarians (except for at breakfast when they can have the same cake as the previous night). This is our fourth visit to Sorrento but we won’t be staying here again, I am sorry say. Great hotel, amazing view of the bay, but terrible food.
I just spent 1 week in the hotel with my daughter. We had a lovely time. It’s spotlessly clean with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. We had a balcony with a garden view. There are millions of sunbeds and massive pool. There are also lovely gardens. The food was great, lots of choice and they let you swap dinner for lunch. The shuttle bus was great but would have like more times added. It would also be great if the hotel had a little shop selling essentials. The staff were superb. Friendly and accommodating. Roberto , Brixton and Michel are the names I remember. The drinks are very reasonably priced and cheaper than the restaurants in the town. The hotel has entertainment on every evening on the roof terrace with views to die for. I went with TUI and it was a great experience. We also booked the Amalfi Coast experience boat trip With the hotel , which was a real highlight.
We had a lovely stay at this beautiful hotel. With fantastic views of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. A very handy bus shuttle service into the centre of Sorrento. A special mention for Jack and Roberto in the dining room, who were very welcoming and a credit to the hotel.
Lovely hotel, in a beautiful position just outside Sorrento, on a hill overlooking Bay of Naples There is a very reliable and frequent free shuttle bus to and from Sorrento so getting about not a problem. It’s a walkable distance to the town, but there are no footpaths for a lot of the walk so we decided against it The hotel is large and spacious and very clean. Staff all friendly and helpful (we arrived late at night and a cold meal was left in our room for us which was very welcome!) Pool is a good size, with a pool bar, and there are plenty of sunbeds Food - We were half board (which could be taken as lunch or evening meal). The evening meal was 3 courses with plenty of choice and generous portions. The menu changed daily. The food was good, though not excellent and bizarrely a lot of the menu stated that the meals were from frozen sources. Breakfast was fine - usual selection of pastries, fruit, yogurt, cheese, meats or cooked options. The juices weren’t great and coffee was average Room - we paid for a balcony room with view and it was worth the extra for that view every morning! The room was large, clean, nicely decorated and with a large comfortable bed. There was no tea / coffee making facilities which was a shame. The bathroom was also fine with a good shower, albeit over the bath. Toiletries were a bit sparse, just body wash and soap, but I had my own so not a problem Overall, we enjoyed our stay there and I would recommend the hotel
Hotel great, rooms spacious. Staff VERY accommodating, i am a fussy eater so struggled with the food and they were more than happy to whip me up something else. Staff friendly (except the older man on reception who hated every time we asked him a question) Older demographic Half board allows for lunch OR dinner which is great! FOOD- Set menu 5/7 days (accommodating and will make you something else if you don’t like it) Overall really enjoyed the stay, Shuttle bus very useful. Only thing i’d say is shuttle bus times - ends at 12:45 and isn’t another til 430pm. If they increased the frequency during the day it would be very helpful. You also can’t get a shuttle back after 23:15. This wouldn’t be an issue if you could walk back, however the roads are extremely unsafe! especially for older adults/kids.
The View is the usp of the Hotel, The rooms are clean and comfortable
The rooms do not have any modern facilities Although the old style decor is beautiful and gives a classic look, rooms can be added with modern facilities with existing interior There is not even a single vegetarian(without egg)/vegan option for vegetarian people in breakfast
