Location and room set up.
happy hour menu was for inside and it was a lovely day out
Room was lovely with good coffee facilities and great beach view from balcony. Restaurant was very good for dinner and breakfast and Mark was a very friendly and helpful server.
Check in was slow with not alot of upgrade options for families. Pool was over crowded with people and way too small. Couldn’t use it. Room felt dated. Noncomplimentary water bottles. Tiny counters. Not great view from door.

Entorno magnífico con instalaciones un poco anticuadas.
Staff were excellent
Booked as a family. Never been to resort before. Thought we would all be in the same building. Two daughters plus family were across the street from us. Not what I thought was happening. I was sad we were not close by to our grandchildren
Staff
Steep beach access. No assistance for elderly or anyone else that needed help. Husband who is a heart patient only just managed it. Pool towels were so thin and small. Tiles in the hot tub were missing. Stains on the carpet of our room. Pillows so used they were not good ( fortunately I brought my own pillow with us ). Was sad that our room and our children and grandchildren’s rooms were at complete ends of the property. That was not my idea of a family holiday
Too steep climb for 80 yr. Old people to beach.
Ocean view room was beautiful! We had a wonderful time exploring the ocean bed when the tide went out and checking out the pools for crabs and other wildlife. It was such a unique and enjoyable experience. We also came across a couple of staff members who are worthy of a special mention. Kaiden was working at the snack shack on Monday when we arrived and was very helpful, giving us some great information about the bay. The other staff member was Zayd, who dealt with a complaint we had. He was a lovely young man, and we ended up talking with him for approximately 40 minutes. He was patient, friendly, and took the time to listen, which we really appreciated. Overall, we had a great stay and really enjoyed our experience!
The good… a great location! Nestled in trees and close to the beach. The bad… 1. Unfriendly check in experience. Maybe he was having a bad day but not welcoming and little information given out. This feeling was throughout our stay…the restaurant seemed good for service but in all other aspects of our stay it’s safe to say the service was not ‘friendly’. 2. The room was terrible (I can’t emphasize this enough). 1980s dated. Don’t be fooled by the website. Only certain rooms are updated. Do your due diligence when booking. (Good luck!!). They told me they use marketing pictures and that only parts of the resort are updated. 3. Housekeeping is non existent - be prepared for that. 4. Back to the room…small and dark (for the charge). Didn’t feel clean compared to almost every hotel we’ve been too (we travel a lot). Fixtures worn out. Ceiling fan was wobbly so we didn’t use. The mini fridge froze our food. Only two chairs on the balconies so you have to move out kitchen chairs. For cutlery bring your own if you want more than one piece per guest. We had four forks, four plates, four knifes……. In general the kitchen is ill equipped. 5. The barbeque area shut off at 9 even though the sign advertised open to 11pm. We had to have someone turn on the pilot light for the barbecues and light them. First person showed up but didn’t have a working lighter…he asked us if we had one 😳, second person to come had a lighter but couldn’t light the pilot lights so manually lit one of the barbecues. This all took 45 mins (we had fresh fish to barbeque). 6. Online help was sincere at first but became non responsive after a few requests. 7. The pool area is undersized for the size of the resort and the hot tub fits 4 people comfortably. 8. Back to housekeeping. They do have a bag system for replenishing towels and such. We did this correctly however we had to call someone to do it later in the evening as it had sat outside all day. (No one came). Overall very underwhelming experience (keeping in mind the rack rate). If wanting to vacation in this area, which I highly recommend!!!, I would shop around. Better accommodation out there for certain.
The beach front and access is wonderful
Very family friendly , so a bit noisy neighbours
Beautiful oceanfront, easily accessible , excellent service and food was awesome
We were spending our last 2 nights of our holiday here as it was close to the ferry port of Nanaimo to return to Vancouver. Our tour operator had struggled to get a price for us, it didn't release these until quite late so by the time we could get a room we could only get a one-bedroomed cabin with a pull-down Murphy bed in the living room. Due to having 2 tall young adults we let them have the bedroom (2 queen beds) and we took the Murphy bed. The bedroom was huge, it has an in-room full sized bath lengthways followed by the 2 queen beds then a seating area. This room could easily have been made into 2 good sized bedrooms!!! There was one bathroom with 2 doors to be shared by the Murphy bed sleepers and the bedroom sleepers. The kitchen was well equipped and clean with a large fridge freezer and plenty of cutlery and crockery, although the cabin overall was quite dark with little natural light coming in. These cabins were across the road from the main hotel and reception, but near to the spa. The resort really seemed to be set up for families with young children, but as another reviewer mentioned, it seems a little confused about who it is trying to attract. The Grotto spa is lovely and definitely high end luxury but the rooms and resort as a whole are family orientated. We ate at the Cedar restaurant but as this is the only place on site to eat, it was booked up and tricky to get a table at a decent time. The food was fine, not great, they boast a large pizza oven and advertise it as a bit of a specialty but the pizza's we had were very small and a bit tasteless. We walked down onto the beach which is lovely, there is a small snack shack but this was closed at the time. We walked along the beach to find The Black Goose Inn, which was a great for lunch, lots of outside tables and some lovely English pub grub. We didn't use the indoor resort pool, it looked quite small and packed with young children. Overall it was fine for our last 2 nights but having older children it isn't somewhere I would return to.
We really enjoyed our stay. The people were lovely. The vibe was so relaxed. The location is amazing as there is so much to do within just minutes. My kids called it home…
De schone kamer met uitzicht op zee. Ontbijt en diner in het restaurant waren ook erg goed.
Zou leuk zijn als er een buitenzwembad was
Excellent experience with ocean front room and spa getaway!
The spa cottages are outdated, not well equipped in terms of furniture (sleeps 4 but only plans for 2 chairs at the kitchen table...), some dirty dishes, mal functioning latches who prevented us from locking the sliding glass doors, dust in bathroom. Limited actions were taken when this feedback was shared after our first night (dirty dish as replaced, no additional chair was provided and glass door issue was not fixed). Treatments a the spa are great but imposed gratuity was a bad surprise.
Amazing property. We stayed in a modern, luxurious and spacious suite that faced the beach. When we weren’t walking on the beach we were sitting on our balcony enjoying the views.
This place has such potential, but they need to decide who they want to cater to. Couples that would utilize a spa and looking for the higher end experience their price seems to be catering to, or the rustic cabins, family experience. Can't speak to the family experience, but they are falling short for the couples... The beach and location are beautiful, it's the rest that needs work, and to send a note with your reservation confirmation saying no housekeeping services to due to a province wide shortage in workers, is a cop out and the room needs to be clean at check-in. Shining light and shout out to Maggie in the Cedars Patio, she was fantastic, too bad the food itself isn't.
The location is second to none.
The room is too small for two adults and a child. With the Murphy bed down it was difficult to get to the kitchen, and to sit at the table. The room, bathroom, and kitchen are tired and old
The service was excellent, location beautiful.
Initially the check in was listed as 5pm- I understand it is to give time for housekeeping but that is too late. This is also significant in you are paying 400 plus a night. Having said that we received a message that an earlier check in may be available, if we had known that was possible we would have planned differently. We attended the Grotto Spa, it was excellent, the staff were also excellent but the automatic gratuity is problematic. I don’t have an issue with tipping but it should be at my discretion.
We had an excellent stay at Tigh-Na-Mara Resort! It was the perfect family getaway with something for everyone. The beach access is incredible—just a short walk to a beautiful stretch of shoreline with stunning views. We spent hours exploring and enjoying the ocean. The one-time breakfast credit was a thoughtful bonus and very easy to use. We saved it for our last morning, which made packing up the family much easier while still enjoying a delicious breakfast. The fresh muffin, coffee, and yogurt parfait were the perfect way to fuel up before heading home. The pool was a huge hit with our kids and provided hours of fun. Between the beach, the pool, and the beautiful surroundings, there was never a dull moment. If you’re looking for a relaxing, family-friendly resort with beautiful views, great amenities, and thoughtful touches, Tigh-Na-Mara is a fantastic choice. We look forward to returning!
Rooms were huge. Really liked the in room spa. Was very special as a couple room.
Property location good.Facilities nice.
Bathroom was poorly maintained, smelly. There was a lack of hot water in the shower both at night and in the morning.
We stayed in one of the individual log cabins at the resort. We had originally booked for a six-night stay. After I made the reservation, I read the fine print that ‘due to the local labour shortage ‘ there is no daily servicing/cleaning of the room but it can be arranged upon request. I had to read that line twice. Okay….I am supposed to be on vacation and paying almost $600 a night but have to request that the room be serviced? I decided to just go with it and packed my Lysol and some cloths and extra garbage bags. We cut our stay short by two nights. In short, our accommodation is in dire need of a structural and decorative refresh. The beds are a mattress on a piece of plywood. All that was missing was the complimentary toe-tag. We searched for quite some time to find the kitchen lights. They were located behind the refrigerator. The refrigerator needs to be replaced. It is too small for a two bedroom family stay. Plus the door shelf is broken and unusable. The kitchen area is very small and the kitchen table is directly in front of kitchen cabinets which hold the plates and other dishes as well as the microwave. There is about a foot of space so whoever is sitting at the table has to move for someone to access cupboards and the microwave. The sofa in the living room needs to be cleaned or better yet—replaced. The big issue for us is that the wooden composite floors in the cabin were very, very dirty. My husband spilled a bit of water and when I sopped it up with paper towels, the towel was literally black. I called the desk and asked them if they could please come the following day to clean the floors and remove the garbage and refresh the towels. I said that there was no need to change the beds. Two housekeeping staff came the following morning as we were leaving for an outing and I thanked them for coming and reiterated that there was no need to change the beds, but would they please wash the floors as they were filthy. We returned, and I wiped the floor with a wet paper towel and they had not been touched. Looking at the floor on an angled light, the stains and soiling is obvious and disgusting. The lighting in the cabin in general is very poor and especially in the bedrooms and the kitchen. There is no light over the stove so it’s hard to see what you are cooking. The kitchen itself is fairly well appointed in terms of necessary dishes and utensils. When we checked out two nights earlier than planned, I spoke with the front desk person and let them know that we were disappointed in our stay and relayed the feedback about the cleanliness issue. The resort property seems to be very popular and busy, so I think it’s time for the owner, Mr. Brian Cocks, to work with his executive team on a ‘property renewal’ plan and put some money back into the place, including daily servicing of guest accommodation and related staff training.
I had a wonderful one-night stay at Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Everything exceeded my expectations and gave me a true sense of peace and relaxation. The resort has a beautiful beachfront and the surrounding grounds are absolutely stunning. The atmosphere is quiet, serene, and perfect for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional, making me feel at home throughout my stay. My room was spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained. I truly enjoyed my time here and left feeling refreshed and relaxed. I highly recommend Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway on Vancouver Island. I will definitely be back!
Overall it was really good experience especially the grotto spa!
That we can’t take photos at grotto
Room was a good size, well stocked, great view
Front reception check in staff - terrible customer service
Close to the beach
It’s a little tired and in need of an update - lighter colours are very welcoming
Lovely room, restaurant was handy and good, beach access if perfect. Has fireplace was awesome.
Nothing.
Beautiful hotel. We stayed in the ocean view suite and it is new renovated one with Italy kitchen appliances. View is so nice like a picture. Restaurant is 5 minutes walk. Front desk stuff is always friendly. Everything is fantastic and will come back next year definitely!
Our ocean view room had one of the best views we've ever experienced in a hotel. The staff were super helpful and gave us an upgrade from one of the darker rooms at the back of the resort. It was just a one night stay but so memorable watching the sun set over the ocean.
If you want a truly beautiful place to stay here it is. The staff was wonderful, cabin was great. The beach area is quite and peaceful.
Very disappointed in my wedding service. The wedding manager was non existent throughout the whole evening. The food was burnt and overpriced. I would not recommend their wedding packages unless you want to pay ridiculous prices to do all the work yourself.
Ruime kamer
Voor de spa en welness moet je apart betalen
The view The bathroom The comfy bed
Could have done with more kitchen utensils and ovenware
Well located for a one night stay on the route from Victoria to Tofino. Upgraded to beachfront suite with kitchenette & fireplace, a really beautiful room with balcony overlooking the stunning beach and Ocean. Also did the Grotto Spa and treetop tapas dining experience, a really unique and delicious experience, booking in advance essential.
The one bedroom ocean view unit on the top floor was exceptional. It was spotless, very comfortable beds and the extra touch of salts for a bath was much appreciated bonus. We treated ourselves to a pedicure and we had very happy pretty feet! The tide went out forever and we spent a few hours exploring the beach and tide pools.
Nice beach side location
Fake feel, too large a complex
I booked an ocean view suite which had a private balcony with comfy chairs. I spent a lot of time there in the quiet, peaceful space. The suite is spectacular with a lovely new & fully equipped kitchen. There is a table & chairs for dining area & a queen sized Murphy bed in the living area. The bathroom is also spectacular with a soaker tub & lovely walk in shower. There are rainfall plus hand held shower heads. The only thing missing IMO is a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Be sure to use the amazing spa and dine in their fabulous restaurant, you won’t regret it! I will definitely return.
We stayed a couple of nights while travelling around. Really good welcome, nice room with seclusion , big bath , good facilities and close to the beach. Relaxing , would recommend
Most relaxing experience. Incredibly beautiful setting. Staff beyond helpful and friendly. Great for families and children. I couldn’t find a fault in this beautiful vacation location.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Accommodation was very nice and comfortable and the beach was amazing.

Beautiful lodges and wonderful setting. A lovely welcome from reception and a thorough explanation of everything. Set on a stunning beach where you can walk for miles. Only had one night here to break up the travel. Could have done with a couple more. Ate at the attached restaurant. Good staff were lovely. Used the spa before we left. Rooms were well equipped and very clean and comfortable. Never seen such a lovely bath robe to use in a hotel room. Even big enough to fit my husband. A must if you are travelling in this area.

What a dream ! Fires on the beach, swimming in the ocean in May! The best beach on the west coast of Van Isle.
Loved the room!
Felt we were treated rudely by staff at the entrance desk to the Grotto/Treehouse when we went there to have tapas. We left the building and instead ate every meal elsewhere outside the resort where people were polite and welcoming.
Quiet and picturesque. Lovely beach walks
Great location!
Older gentleman at the reception was very grumpy and impatient. We couldn't find the second double bed in the small room and he impatiently told us that it was a Murphy bed which had nowhere been advertised. Had I known that one bed was a Murphy bed that made the sofa not usable and wasn't even properly set up with a duvet cover, I would have not booked this room. Tiny window made the room very dark. Some of the dishes were not clean. Netflix didn't work.
We celebrated our 30th Anniversary in an ocean view suite. Beautiful experience. Also enjoyed the renovated Grotto spa. So amazing!
Had a wonderful two nights at the Resort stayed at their one bedroom cabin , not too far from the terminal the resort so charming tranquil surrounding been coming here over two decade , professional friendly front desk , surprised maybe a week day also off seasons less crowed our rustic cabin very clean cozy spacious for two person kitchen fully stocked , bed is not oversize very comfy bedding , short walk down to the beach , excellent Island resort for families and four legs friend , restaurant indoor pool fitness center / kids play ground plus laundry and Spa on site very reasonable price around $300 to $400 a night ! most area is wheel chairs accessible .
We only stayed one night as a stopover, and I think this is def a place to come with the family for a week or so. Good facilities there like a laundromat and pool, although we didn't test them out. It is quite a sharp downhill to the beach, so if Grandma has a dodgy knee, she will need assistance up and down. They were very friendly and cheerful in the restaurant, and the food was good. Best part of the stopover!
Spa was amazing. Staff were beyond wonderful, Ness was so lovely, I would request her every time. Beach was lovely, liked the beach fireplace area. You have a beautiful location.
Only complaint about room - had to move couch, table, chairs etc. to access Murphy bed. Maybe have it set up prior to our arrival? My friend's Provider, for her pedicure, knicked her toe & didn't acknowledge it, strange - she wasn't impressed but loved the rest of her experience.
Location and the room
Location, atmosphere, fire place, bunnies
Beds are far too small. They should be twin dbles, queen (at least), preferably king size. The hotel has to keep up with current standards.
The room and spa tub were amazing. Clean, comfortable, seamless. Exactly what we expected for a short relaxing trip.
Great views, well equipped suites, comfortable and cozy. Great place to relax for a few days and enjoy the nature. It also has a moderately sized/equipped gym that is suitable for most.
the pool/hot tub are small, and may as well be a playground for kids. The resort was busy during my stay (easter weekend) and that may have added to the chaos. We decided the Grotto spa would be the environment we were after, booked our 2 hour window (with a odd application process) and the staff ads an "auto gratuity" to your bill, despite no services provided (just used the pool and sauna's, no massage or skincare). To further exacerbate that frustration, the staff was not particularly engaging or accommodating (not at all rude, just not great and wanted to go above and beyond)
Loved the cabin feel, but I’m Not sure it was worth the price as lots of other places offering ocean views for cheaper. The heated pool was too cold for young kids to enjoy
The cabin had spider webs
Everything
Nothing
The bed was so comfortable and the beach views were incredible. I was able to fully relax and unwind from my busy life. I highly recommend!
Just the hot tub was really shallow. It was weird. Other than that, it was top notch!
Everything was done to such a high standard. The room , furnishings and equipment and the customer service too.
There was nothing to fault
The property and grounds were lovely; we enjoyed the half price appies on Tues. night, the dip and dine experience and the close proximity to Rathtrevor Beach.
We had to ask for more coffee, tea and sugar, no one answered the phone when tried 4x. When we finally got someone, we asked for more peppermint tea, we got a pepper shaker instead. A steam bath in the spa facilities would have been nice too. It's a first world problem, really no complaints.
I have absolutely nothing negative to say. It was an amazing venue for our 3 day business stay. Excellent business set-up help. OMGoodness... the Grotto mineral pool was heavenly. Honestly relieved pains. AND the Bonus, even though it was spring break and I was there for work, I hardly noticed the kids.
I didn’t appreciate that it wasn’t clearly mentioned that the Grotto Spa is an extra cost. At $115 per person, it’s quite expensive, especially for a family, so we decided not to use it. It was advertised as part of the hotel, and I expected it to be included like the other amenities. The regular swimming pool is located in a separate building, and in winter, if you get a room close to the spa (like we did), you have to walk about five minutes to reach it. The pool is also quite small compared to the size of the hotel, which was disappointing. The staff were great, and the room was clean and comfortable. We also enjoyed the hot tub inside the room. However, overall, the experience wasn’t worth the price.
The staff, clean and comfortable beds ..

My grand daughter and I stayed at the resort to celebrate our birthdays. The one bedroom ocean front suite was spectacular, the beds, pillows and robes were the best ever! The moonlight view of the lights from nearby islands was magical and breakfast on the oceanfront patio was perfect start to our day! When we entered the suite we were royally welcomed by a personal greeting on the TV, very classy! The Grotto Spa mineral pool & hot tub was so relaxing, and the addition of the outside cedar barrel saunas was so beautiful! The fresh cedar smell along the path to the cloistered firepit seating areas was perfect. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and attentive to offer cold cloths, sparkling water and blankets for the firepit areas. We highly recommend the Grotto Spa and the Tigh na Mara resort, giving them a 5 star rating and will certainly be back!
I spent one night here, in a place with one bed, a kitchenette, and a balcony. The room looked and felt clean, and both the kitchenette and the bathroom were well stocked with what you'd expect. So housekeeping did a good job. I can't say the same for the overall function of the furniture or layout of the space. Please refer to my attached images for context. Basically, there was a fireplace in the kitchen, which prevented having a kitchen table there. So they moved it over by the patio door, but then you couldn't access the patio easily. That placement had its own problems because it blocked access to the desk/office area. Tucked beside all this furniture were even more items that got in the way of each other, literally. The couch, which faced a blank wall, was pushed up against the wardrobe, so you couldn't access it to open it. The TV was up and in a corner, so you'd probably get a kink in your neck if you watched it, but that's ok, cause they have masseuses there for 200/hr. Finally, the little rack for your clothes by the bed also had a nasty-looking broom and dustbin, which we all want next to us as we sleep, right! This place felt like it was put together by a person without any experience, and clearly had too much furniture.
Our group of 12 just got back from another great weekend at Tigh-Na-Mara, and it continues to be one of my favorite getaway spots. I’ve now stayed there twice with about the same size group, and it works incredibly well for a crowd. Having experienced both the "Cabin Ring" and the Ocean View Deluxe Suites, I’d recommend either depending on the vibe you’re after. The Ocean View Deluxe Suite This time, we opted for the suites. Ours was beautiful, very spacious, and equipped with great kitchen appliances. The ocean view was fantastic, but the real winner was the layout, it was the perfect size for all 12 of us to gather comfortably in the evenings to spend time together. The Grotto Spa & Cedars Restaurant The Grotto Spa was a major highlight. I initially wondered if two hours might feel like a long time, but it was so relaxing that the time flew by; it was actually hard to leave! The appetizers at the Grotto were delicious, and the facial I had was a perfect addition. We also had great meals at Cedars Restaurant. The atmosphere is lovely, and the staff throughout the resort were welcoming and friendly, which really added to the relaxed feel of the whole place. Beach Access One thing we love is how close the resort is to the water. It’s just a short walk down to the shoreline, perfect for a beautiful stroll along the water. In the summer, it would be a prime spot for swimming. A Note for Groups: The Cabin Ring: Worked really well for our group previously. It creates a nice communal feel where everyone is close together but still has their own private space. The Suites: Offer a more elevated resort-style experience with those stunning views and I used my deluxe suite as a great central hosting space. All in all, just a completely lovely weekend!
Stunning location on the water. Fantastic restaurants nearby. Rustic Zen is the vibe, rooms on the water are stunning, but the beds are too small for two people unless you get a room with a king bed. The rooms have everything you need for home away from home. It's a bit overpriced for what you get, but these are the times we are living in. Super clean. Fairly quiet if you are near the ocean. The only service we experienced was at the front desk and at The Grotto, which we highly recommend if you are looking to treat yourself. Bring cash ;-)
Absolutely everything was fantastic, it’s the small touches that mades this resort a class act and a tough one to follow. This may have ruined me for any other place ,I can not say enough about staying here , from the well thought out rooms , spotless facilities and the incredible staff this place is amazing not to mention the beaches and the view.
Can’t think of a single thing
I have been doing an annual girls spa get away for 17 years and would never go anywhere else. The atmosphere and service is above all. I have tried other spas but continue to stay loyal to Tigh Na Mara The way we are treated is exceptional. The staff is always so kind and go out of their way to make sure you feel pampered. Highly recommend
They quoted me one price charged me another refused to fix it. The hotel value was absolutely not worth $200 a night. I was quoted 209 for the Valentine special got there and they want to me 315 saying that there’s no way I was missed quoted that I misunderstood their employee. Even though I had verified on three separate phone calls that it was 209 including the valentines package of roses chocolates wine. My husband and I live 15 minute drive away. We would’ve just driven home after our spa day, if I would’ve known that, they were trying to charge me more. At check in the gentleman didn’t know what to do. So he told me to just take the room and don’t eat the wine and chocolate maybe they can help you the next day. The atmosphere in the room was OK. The wooden fireplace was great, but the room itself was really bland and half redone walls the view out the deck was horrendous. I was looking at a tennis court and work vans point of my husband and I renting a room less than 15 minutes from home was for the valentine special for our wedding anniversary to getthe wine and the chocolates. I didn’t want the room without that and I had to return it the next morning to get that hundred dollarsback. Again when I called on three separate occasions at booking, I verified what was included for the 209 and they didn’t wanna do anything to help me with that instead they took the bottle of wine and chocolates and just charge me the 209 for the room. The room is not worth $200 in the slightest maybe 100. I’m so pissed off. I’m gonna make sure everyone knows how horrible of an experience I have because the staff the next morning didn’t even try and rectify it by saying you know what I’m so sorry for the mixup you can take the wine and chocolate with you home that would’ve even made it better but now they took the wine and chocolate back and just said sorry for the mixup. Have a great rest of your day. I work in customer service and I know that this is an absolute horrendous level of experience and I will never be coming back here maybe not even coming back to the grotto tap as which my husband when I come back to at least four times a year so they lost some big tippers and it’s really unfortunate that because two staff couldn’t make a customer feel better about a mixup from their employees that they’re gonna lose a regular customer. I have friends and family who go and I told them this experience and they are all no longer coming as well so they are losing at least a dozen regular customers. On the good side, the grotto the spa and the tapas were perfection and I’ve never had a bad issue or customer service on that side so maybe they should have their hotel employees train there.
I've stayed at this resort many times over the years. There is lots of choice in accommodation and handy to Parksville for a few groceries and change of scenery. They have seasonal specials that I usually take advantage of . The location make this an easy drive without having to head to the west coast in winter weather for a getaway. We took in the mineral pool , sauna jacuzzi tub and an appetizer by the fire. A nice treat!
The pool and hot tub (not in the spa) were wonderful. A very nice option if you don't go to the spa. We likely wouldn't have stayed at Tigh na Mara if we couldn't swim.
It was difficult to adjust room temperature and work the tv.
Loved the spa, weather was not the greatest but we had a great time
We stayed in a forest log cabin and were very comfortable. All the amenities were there. The heat pump kept things warm and cozy. The restaurant was lovely, food delicious and great servers who really went out of the way to be obliging. The Grotto experience is worth every penny. They take such good care of everyone, very professional, and it is so unique. I will look back on the facilities, cleanliness, food options, and staff fondly. Even my husband loved it, and it was out of his comfort zone until he actually relaxed and had a great time. Highly recommend Tigh-Na-Mara!
What a lovely getaway with everything I needed for my family to stay in the beautiful cabins. Rustic, charming, and beyond wonderful....all at a reduced price for Vancouver Island locals!
One of the two meals was burnt yet served anyway. Horribly overdone at best. A good waitress would not have taken the food out of the kitchen.
