Excellent location, clean and spacious.
Room is lovely - spacious with great little extras included. Breakfast was great - lots of choices & staff were attentive. Tea2 tea appreciated!
We liked the hotel but would not say it was 5 star. The room was clean and very spacious. The food in cookies restaurant was amazing including the breakfast and staff was very pleasant.
The bed was to small and pillow was not good. Very noisey with doors banging all night and very noisey outside. Would not stay again as too noisey for us which is a shame as really liked the hotel
Location, cleanliness and rooms are exceptional.
We have stayed before and noticed the staff at check in were not very welcoming no conversation just a big standard is here is your key. Not very personable.
Fantastic location. Design of rooms and fittings. Breakfast was good - staff quite amazing.
Room was quite cold
Fantastic location. Great spacious rooms with everything you need at hand.
Location and general ambiance was good. Tidy (although very basic) little suite. Excellent bathroom.
Smell of air freshener was overwhelming in the lobby, restaurant, and in the room. Left me thinking about toilets and cheap taxis. Made me feel nauseous at times. The bed mattress had a big dip, felt like an old mattress well overdue replacing. Did not sleep well. Outdoor roof garden did not live up to its promise and seemed a forgotten place due for some tlc, which could otherwise be a neat little private escape for hotel guests.
Rooms good and very tidy clean
Sauna cold due to draft and being turned on when we arrived
We had 2 rooms celebrating a birthday in the city, used the saunas, had drinks at the bar and breakfasts next morning before checkout, All the friendly staff helped make the stay at fables memorable 10/10
The decor is beautiful and I found the staff extremely helpful and prompt.
Our first room was on the 6th floor facing Queenstreet after 6hours of trying to get to sleep while listening to the partying and yelling below I finally gave out, and approached reception in the early hours of the morning to move us to a more quiet location. They were super prompt and had us moved within minutes to a quiet room on the opposite side of the building. This was a wedding anniversary treat and if I would have only reviewed off the first night I would have been giving 1 star reviews. However the staffs promt attention and the second more spacious room left us feeling much better. One massive issue is the lack of parking out the front, or any where, it took many loops around the block before we could stop to get the valet parking.
The room was fantastic. The overall ambience.
Nothing
Grey at check in was lovely, the hotel presented well, our room was lovely, even better than expected. Bringing the car was easy, valet parking was good.
I cannot fault anything.
Clean, smells nice, beautiful.
Comfortable, clean and close to many places
Excellent location, very good restaurant, staff exceptionally helpful and friendly.
Could not fault it
Restaurant excellent, staff very professional
The central location and the decor. The staff were helpful and welcoming.
We stayed on the 4th floor and it smelled damp in the hallways. We also had trouble with the temperature control in the room and there was no info on how to adjust it. The bathroom is lovely but there is nowhere to put your toiletries as the one bench holds the sink, mirror and towels. My major gripe is that we had to leave after 1 night of a prepaid 3 night stay due to illness. I emailed the mgmt asking if they would consider refunding one night and they never replied. I could have accepted a No but to not even acknowledge the email is just rude
Location Comfortable bed Very quiet
Shower did not stay at a consistent temperature
Amazing location, great space
The staff was Great from beginning to end. Exceptional professionalism and guest courtesy extended by Shubham and Rahul
We were greeted with a refreshing cup of tea in a gorgeous cup and things went up from there. Beautiful room, fantastic shower and very central location
No ramp to take luggage to the reception desk but lifts do go to the room
Location is excellent. Happy hour is excellent. Decor excellent.
My room on the 7th floor had the noise from the street most of the night. The neon signs around the building couldn’t be blocked out with the curtains.
excellent rooms, professional staff and stunning location
nothing
A wonderful night but the meal at Cooke's was the highlight. amazing fine dining, what a pleasant surprise, and Umut, what an amazing gentleman. A credit to the restaurant. perfect service, perfect atmosphere and amazing food.
The bed was comfy
The room next door watching a movie so loud till 3am and then up at 6am with music coming thru the walls. Also said city view and never got this option.
Bed comfy, room good
staying in the front of the hotel the street lighting was quite bright
Location & rooms are great.
The only thing which needs to improve are the eggs at breakfast, yolks were too hard.
The location is superb, right in the heart of Auckland

Delicious coffee
I've been staying at Fable regularly for about a year now—usually a few nights each month—and there's a very good reason I never look elsewhere when I'm in Auckland. Yes, the rooms are beautiful. Chic, elegant, generously sized, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The beds? Dangerously comfortable. The kind that make you seriously consider extending your stay just for one more night's sleep. But while anyone can invest in luxurious rooms, what truly sets Fable apart is something money can't buy: genuinely exceptional service. From the moment I walk through the door and hear, "Welcome back, Anji, we're so happy to see you again," I'm reminded that this isn't just another hotel—it's a team of people who truly care about their guests. Rahul's warmth and kindness make every check-in feel like catching up with an old friend. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and his genuine hospitality shines through every interaction. Then there's Mark, whose attention to detail is simply remarkable. He knows I prefer taking the stairs in the morning, and somehow always seems to be waiting at the bottom with my keys ready, a big smile, a cheerful "Good morning, Anji," and a "Drive safe today." It's such a small gesture, but it says everything about the level of care here. And Shubab's infectious smile and kindness could brighten even the greyest Auckland morning. His positivity is impossible not to appreciate. It's these little touches that transform a great hotel stay into something truly special. You can pay for a five-star room anywhere, but you can't buy personalised service from people who genuinely care about making your day better. Fable isn't just one of Auckland's best hotels—it's one of the best hospitality experiences I've had anywhere. That's why I'll keep coming back.
Location, staff, bedding, bathroom, dining room.
Quite noisy, tv volume unable to be reduced.
Great location. Lovely decor and staff were amazing. Breakfast was delicious too
Nothing
Great location. Breakfast selection was good.
Our first room was quite compact. The upgraded room was a good size and very comfortable. The only negative was the very small window that was almost ceiling height so the room was dark
Lovely room, friendly helpful staff, great to have valet parking option given location.
Valet parking was a little pricey
Unfortunately this has been a very poor experience. I am travelling on my own as a single woman: when I arrived I was upgraded to a Junior Suite, which was very nice, but woken up at 10 pm by a man trying to get into my hotel room as he had been given the same key as me. Fortunately, he was lovely and just as horrified as I was, but it could have been a very different story. Totally unacceptable. Now, this afternoon, I have come back from being out since 9.30, and my room hasn't been serviced. It is 2pm. I really don't understand this level of shoddy service.
Valet parking was brilliant, and concierge calling to check when we would like the car ready for check-out.
The bed was comfy and room was cosy
The TV didn't work very well, remote seemed to be broken and stayed on the entire stay because I couldn't turn it off. The shower gel pump was broken and had to get more delivered to the room which for some reason the pump wasn't working great on that either. The room I got was right next to a very loud street, could hear loud cars, people yelling and construction throughout the night and early morning which made a for a rough couple nights sleep. Got my room serviced and they didn't replace the towels or bath mat they took. I've also stayed here a few times before and noticed this time upon check in they didn't offer a tea and sweet treat like they used too and the meal sizes seemed smaller but were the same price if not more expensive.
Clean
Amazing location, very comfy bed
Absolutely loved the bed - so comfortable! The tea set was beautiful - loved that too! Staff - the man on the front desk was particularly amazing. Location was great. Impressed the staff remembered who we were when we picked up our bags later that day.
A free bottle of water in the room would have been great, but not a big deal. More tea bags in the room would have been great too - but that's because I love tea haha!
Great location. Only a few hundred metres to Auckland Harbour.
Breakfast was confusing. One the first I ordered off the menu. The following 2 days it was buffet style. The buffet was excellent and there was an egg station. Just didn't understand why there were two different breakfast offerings on different days.
The most comfortable bed & very quiet considering the central city location
Stayed here for 3 nights whilst in Auckland. We used the valet parking for our hire car for one night which was around $35NZD as I recall. The hotel is located right in the heart of the commercial district and easy walking distance to the Sky Tower, ferry terminal and Britomart rail station. The room was very nicely appointed and felt quite luxurious. We did get a bit of noise from the street outside but it wasn't too bad. Breakfasts had a good slection and filled us up for the day. We enjoyed our stay here, the staff were friendly and we were well located for all of the main attractions in Auckland.
Location was great
Room was small but comfy and there were no bathroom toiletries
Love the location, on Queen street right above Louis Vuitton shop, very central for shopping and only a block away from the ferry terminal. I love the ambience of the hotel, it’s beautifully decorated in a 1920’s style to suit the building. The rooms belie the small lobby. We ate in Cookes restaurant and the food and wine were excellent. bathroom is gorgeous and lovely, fluffy towels. Love having a Coffee machine in the room.

The room was very well appointed and the location is fantastic. Bed was very comfortable and shower was excellent.
The rooms are quite small but ok for one person
Very convenient location, beautiful decor, good breakfast. I would return.
Room design was a bit cramped and we had only one lounge chair. A bit noisy on Friday night but it is in the city centre.
Amazing hot tub and facilities
All was great
Todo.
Nada negativo.
Location.
Room was dated, and in need of refurbishment. Very small room, No Bottled Water as advertised.
Location
Cold room on arrival. Middle of the road service
Beds and pillows were so comfy and check in staff were awesome!
