I enjoyed my stay in general, the spa was lovely and the bed was very comfortable to sleep in
It was a special birthday and they upgraded room and presented a birthday decorated plate with chocolate brownie. Coffee machine in room and fresh milk, cold water and homemade cookies n corridor
Special touches that make it personal
Breakfast wasn’t included in the price
There were stains on the couch in the bedroom
Everything was brilliant . All staff were very friendly and food was amazing . The room was really nice and the bed was very comfortable
The shower was a little poor
Air con in room
I’m 70 years old and wobbly. Walk from car to reception with luggage was a struggle
Tea & coffee provisions
The noise level - doors slamming and clientele that absolutely need to be reminded that it is a hotel, not their personal playground or lounge. Full volume phone conversations in the middle of the night outside peoples' rooms; screaming, shouting & laughing with no regard for volume levels.
The Breakfast was good.
Room was very tired, chipped old furniture, some stains on carpet door needed replacement as tatty and bathroom fairy but old.
Beds very comfy, good toiletries tea coffee and milk provided.
Only mirror was in bathroom but no plugs near so when drying/stying hair you couldn't see what you where doing. Told there was biscuits extra tea and coffee at end of corridor by water and milk but no left.
Lovely hotel with leisure and spa facilities, it has cozy rooms and excellent staff.
Some of the leisure/spa facilities were out of action when we stayed. New bar staff, didn’t know/understand the hotels till system.
Proximity to motorway, spa facilities - lovely staff food excellent bed v comfortable
The room was lovely, very clean. Would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone.
Next door we’re just a little loud playing music and talking loud at 2am but apart from that everything was good.
Breakfast was great, a good selection and lovely atmosphere. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Knutsford is a lovely town and walkable from the hotel although it is a very fast busy road.
We booked through Booking.com so we couldn't use the spa facilities unless we paid extra
Beautiful spa and treatment. Rooms where clean and equipped. Staff were lovely
Room needed a few updates (crack in the sink, rusty plug) but nothing to complain about. General wear and tear but overall a beautiful stay
We were there for our daughter's wedding and the whole experience was professional, we had a comfortable, relaxed and enjoyable stay
Good location for the venue we were going to for a wedding
Quite basic, staff were great
Lovely restaurant and bar. Great staff - desk manager very helpful ☺️
Furniture in room a little worn/dated - it didn't detract from our stay.
Staff amazing. We got upgraded. Spa was great, clean and tidy.
Nothing.
Breakfast was good. Dinner was good. Staff very helpful.
Lighting in room could be improved. I had to book two nights mid week to ensure accommodation for Wed prior to Thu wedding at Colshaw Hall. Unsure why especially since mid week.
Ideal location
Staff were great and food was excellent. Location good too.
Our room was clean and comfortable but could do with an upgrade.... lighting was not great and the shower d had a static position so not easy to use.
Loved this hotel and Knutsford is a lovely little town .

It was in an ideal location for me. It has adequate parking available which again is ideal.
It was great
Nothing I can think of
Very little - the bar staff were efficient
The hotels tired and needs updating but because it is full the owners prefer profit over customer care
Location and facilities were excellent and staff were very helpful and efficient. The food was also excellent. We also enjoyed the health suite and swimming pool
Nothing
Dinner in the restaurant was good . Good service.
The room had an infestation of carpet moths which should be dealt with asap. Recently read how they get into suitcases and get transported away. The noise from the planes was distracting in the room.
Staff were all really helpful and pleasant.

Location Great food
Broken toilet reported. Not repaired so unable to flush toilet during stay
Reception lady was so helpful and friendly. The young man behind the bar was very attentive and made us feel very welcomed. Would definitely come again.
Room was slighty hot!
Lovely room. Comfy bed. Good shower. Nice touch with the water/milk/cookie station. Nice bar.
Didn't have time to use spa and gym facilities, unfortunately.
Location ideal for us attending a wedding at Tatton Park
Nothing negative to say
Well situated with plenty of parking. The customer service level was high with staff being very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. We also had a delicious evening meal.
Some updating needed in our room although we were comfortable. Lighting not sufficient.
The staff were really lovely
The carpets were dirty and the hotel could've done with a paint job. Some areas in our room and the reception area needed cleaning, there were cobwebs in the wardrobe and the bottom of the fridge was rusted. My husband used the pool each morning and he was really pleased with the facilities.
The room booked was spacious. Location great
Reception staff when checking in was not helpful and it felt like it was a nuisance to ask them questions Checked in late at 9.30pm and just kindly asked if we could have an hour extra to check out- there was no Lee way at all to be considerate to extend. Many rooms check out at 11 and I’m sure one hour wouldn’t have made a difference Check out was at 11 and there was persistent calls constantly to get out of the room Couldn’t use the gym facility as soon as you check out Breakfast was average and not worth the money at all No complimentary waters in the room - despite paying £245 for a room, I would have thought that would be offered . This hotel is not worth the money you spend . You can spend that money in London and get better service, better food and even one hour extra check out complimentary
Fantastic stay, got a nice upgrade and a perfect location for our family wedding.
I was staying for a Wedding close by so unfortunately didn't spend much time there...Room's were clean and comfortable beds.
Early check in could have been cheaper i paid £25
Calm, lovely abs friendly staff. Rooms nice modern and clean.
I liked everything.
Location and facilities
At times the cleaning services was on the stop The breakfast was the same every day with no innovation or changes Also options for Halal should be considered
Cottons was a beautiful hotel. The staff were very kind, professional and were always available to help when needed. The bedroom was beautifully presented, with a large comfy bed, cleaned to a high standard and we were offered for a clean between our 2 nights. I also loved that there were refreshment stations with cookies on each floor (highly appreciated!) With 24 hour pizza available alongside a late night menu up until 9pm.
The shower was so powerful it hurt delicate areas of the body.
This is a nice hotel and is clearly very popular with families with children, though that did mean that the pool was very noisy during times when children are allowed in. The adult only times for the pool are limited. Our room was comfortable, especially the beds, and as we stayed on a Thursday night the price wasn't too bad, however if we had stayed on a Friday or Saturday the price would have been nearly double, and I would say that it isn't worth that amount. Also, as we booked through booking.com we had to pay an extra £15 each to use the spa facilities - apparently if we had booked direct with the hotel these would have been free. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was very nice but we couldn't quite see how it was worthy of an aa rosette. We know many restaurants that serve equally good food in nicer surroundings but do not have an aa rosette. Overall it felt a bit like an airport hotel, which I now know is what many people use it for.
Our bedroom toilet was 2 feet from the bed with basically see through window very uncomfatable using the toilet
Fantastic location. Breakfast was really nice.
For the price I’d expected a better room. The shower was really small with a shower curtain that kept sticking to me. Could have done with a screen.
I got a room upgrade, which was unexpected, but appreciated.
Rooms near me had maybe a couple of rooms as part of a group, at times a bit loud, especially later on. It wont stop me coming back.
Comfortable bed and pillows.
We couldn’t check in early as room wasn’t ready at 1pm. Which was fair enough as we were early. We had a wedding locally at 1,30 . Which meant we didn’t get into our room until 12.45 am . Breakfast was disappointing. We arrived at breakfast at 10am. No fried eggs or hash browns and the pastries had run out. For a very large hotel this is bad planning especially as last entry to breakfast was at 11am!
Nice staff
No chest drawers and were needed to place clothes if staying more than two nights
Suitable for the wedding I was attending
Some facilities like the spa were not free if you had booked with booking.com. They were free if booked directly with hotel
Slightly noisy in morning from 7 am, might have been cleaners, not sure
Location , friendly staff
Convenient and comfortable for our short stay
Nothing
Great property. Good breakfast. Staff were great
The spa facilities. Beds were very comfy. Rooms on the 3rd floor very spacious
Plus Points - The Evening meal on the Friday Evening was very Good as was the Breakfast on the Sunday Morning. We dined out on the Saturday as we were at an all day Wedding at Mere Golf & Country Club. Negative Points - My Wife forgot to pack a Shower Cap & there was not one in our room & disappointingly there was not one available throughout the Hotel. Early the following morning I had to go into Knutsford Town Centre & purchase a Shower Cap from Boots. Secondly the Sink in our room (144) was Blocked, if we had been staying in the Hotel for a longer period & my Wife & I had the time to put up with the palaver of moving to another Room we most certainly would have insisted upon it.

Nice relaxed holiday type vibe. Great room, food and bar very good.
A lettle expensive
Excellent staff, great breakfast.
The signature rooms are better, the beds are comfortable and the linens are good quality. Breakfast is excellent and the staff are friendly.
Having to pay extra for use of the swimming pool is in my opinion penny pinching. I’m surprised that they close the hotel bar at a specific hour for residents.
The breakfast was fantastic plenty available and a good variety. Need better tables though because our plates were very wobbly due to the table extentions.
Such a lovely hotel with a fab spa facilities and the breakfast was great.
Didn’t use the restaurant , overnight stay only .
Tea tray rather disappointing .
Beautiful property
Perfect
Large, spacious room, didn't feel cramped.
The room felt like it was barely cleaned. There were still bits all over the floor, which felt like it had not been hoovered. The desk in the room had a glass top, which was full of dirt underneath and hair clips. Just did not feel like care and attention was made during any cleaning. Also missing the cover off the door view port so you couldn't close it.
Lovely room, comfortable, cosy. Decor was good. Bathroom was clean. Breakfast options were great, with additional 'made to order' options available.
Ideal location and lovely venue.
Pool was brilliant as was breakfast. The arrival for kids was wonderful with cookies and a treat waiting for them and they loved the robes and spa slippers. A real treat! It was also great that there was a central area for additional water / tea.
A real lack of places to hang towels!!! And slightly cramped for a family room
Breakfast was amazing, great location for where we were going next day, comfy bed
Hot tap didn’t work on the sink, shower was ok, step in the room floor level,
Good location for a course I attended. Comfy bed.
Woken many times in the night from cleaners / housekeeping crashing about, possibly next to tumble dryer vibrating into the room? Reported yet nothing done - woken at 12, 1, 3 and then at 5 when the vibration stopped! Dated, slightly grubby bathroom with wood lice. Couldnt hang up clothes because hangers broken. Average customer service at best - I don’t expect to be called ‘guys’ at a 4 star ‘premium’ hotel stay. Tried to discuss the disruption to move rooms, I was on a 9-5 course and the disrupted sleep was NOT good, nothing would be done, no apology offered. I am very glad I did not book here for all 3 weekends - I would have rebooked, but you’ve lost me as a customer and I told everyone on my course NOT to book here. Lots of money for not a lot. Wish I had just stayed at a premier inn/ travelodge where you know what you’re getting. I feel like I paid for a more premium experience yet I received basic service. Ordered room service food which was disappointing, so didn’t dine at the hotel and cannot comment. Tried to get a bottle of wine to the room - they could not do this, but gave a carafe with part of one bottle and topped it up with a fresh bottle!? The whole reason I like to order a bottle is to get a fresh, unopened bottle. Nothing made sense here and I stopped questioning anything.
Friendly staff relaxed atmosphere wonderful food
Nothing!
Not alot
The bed wasn’t comfy, staff not helpful at al. On day of check out, ordered a granola bowl
We had no problems
Nothing in particular
Clean spacious rooms; comfortable beds; quality toiletries; good choice at breakfast.
Having to pay extra if we’d wanted to use the spa facilities; small and busy lifts
Expensive to add the use of the pool and facilities, for the price of the room and location feel like it should have been included, the pool/spa looks basic as well

Nice location and close to Knutsford. Comfortable rooms with good facilities.
Finding my way to the room, kept taking wrong turn in the corridors for first day or so!!
Good breakfast
Rooms in dire need of refurbishing. Bathrooms fusty and our shower grout needed a good scrub and there was dried toothpaste on one of the glasses. We only had one bath and one hand towel despite room booked for 2 people. We booked a king room and a twin and got 2 twin rooms. Didn’t use the spa as we got a message to say swimming pool and spa were extra charge. Wouldn’t stay again.
The hotel was clean and beautiful, we were blessed with good weather and there was a lovely outdoor space to sit and watch the planes come in to land. The rooms were spotless and the food in the private dining room was very good.
We had taken 11 rooms for the night before our daughter's nearby wedding. I booked a private dining room and was asked to pre-order which was not a problem. There was a set menu which was extremely limited but when one of our guests couldn't eat anything of that menu I contacted the hotel and was told we could order from a small selection of the Al a carte menu unfortunately it wasn't explained that we all had to choose from the same menu and we felt the lady dealing with our booking wasn't very professional dealing with the confusion. The meal itself was lovely although we had requested the tables were arranged in a square but unfortunately they set it as one long table which restricted conversation to the few people sat near you. One thing to note is if you book via booking.com then it doesn't include the £17.50 breakfast and if you want to use the Spa that is an extra £15 each as well. All in all we would stay there again, it was just a shame that there were a couple of things which let the side down.
Breakfast was great and lots of alternatives
The milk bottle and tumblers in the cupboard were dirty and there were no teaspoons provided forstirring our morning cuppa.
Clean Breakfast fab Dinner choices great Staff friendly and obliging
Poor footpath for walking into Knutsford
Thank you Sharon for a lovely manicure and pedicure. You are a very attentive and professional therapist.
Gorgeous hotel, great facilities. Accommodated early check in at a cost of £25 which was perfect for me getting to a wedding I was attending
X
Clean and accessible and with comfortable beds
Too close to the busy road
Comfy beds .Good food. Attractive venue.Pleasant staff.
Oh dear,we have stayed many times over the years as our daughter and family live in Knutsford. We always have a family meal at the hotel usually after a swim in the pool. Unfortunately this visit we had to pay extra to take our grandchildren and our children into the spa area. Hugely disappointed as this has always been one of the main attractions for our family get togethers.
The treatment was absolutely amazing and the therapist Beth W was so lovely, I couldn't have asked for a better therapist. I would definitely come again, and I'll highly recommend.

1st time I had been away on my own (family wedding to attend), so to book in and visit the town the next day and evening was an acheivement in itself! Excellent stay from start to finish. Bit of a walk into the town (no bus passing the hotel) but distracted by the big planes taking of from the local airport (I'm a plane fanatict)! No disruption from these planes overnight, nor any noisy guests either Breakfast fantastic I didn't use the Spa or Pool as I hadn't booked direct. these were free if you booked via the hotel it'self. To visit the town on an evening you can get an UBER staright away and only 1.6 miles away.
Only thing wrong was, I didn't have a view overlooking the car park to see the evening lights. Nothing else I can think of
Staff at the hotel couldn’t be more helpful. Service was excellent in the hotel restaurant and food was great. A special mention to Grace on reception and Kian our server in the restaurant who both went beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
Bathroom in our room a little dated but certainly functional. Not sure about finding somewhere in the hotel to fill up a water and milk bottle? Feel there must be an easier way. We also felt that nearly £20 for breakfast was a lot & additional charges for use of pool/spa facilities quite expensive for our party added a further £90.
I had a fabulous scalp massage from Ruby will definitely return
I am writing following my recent stay at Cottons Hotel. I have already left a review online, and whilst I appreciated receiving a response, I was disappointed that it addressed only the duplicate room charge and made no acknowledgement whatsoever of the poor customer service we experienced throughout our stay. My friends and I had attended a ball at the hotel and had booked two rooms. We decided to stay on the following day to work remotely and enjoy the facilities, spending a considerable amount during our visit on coffees, wine, cocktails, lunch and dinner, as well as our accommodation. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell far below the standard we expected. Our stay started poorly when we were allocated the wrong room at check-in. Thankfully, the member of staff who dealt with correcting this was excellent and quickly resolved the issue. Throughout the following day, however, the service was disappointing. The bar staff were unhelpful and appeared uninterested. During lunch, service was inattentive; we repeatedly had to ask for drinks and other items rather than staff checking whether everything was satisfactory. It simply didn't feel like the level of hospitality you would expect from a hotel of Cottons' reputation. The one exception was our evening meal. The food was excellent, and the restaurant team were attentive, friendly and professional. They were a real credit to the hotel and demonstrated the standard of service we had expected throughout our stay. The issue that caused the greatest inconvenience, however, was being charged twice for our room. Although your response to my review acknowledged the payment issue, it does not reflect the reality of what happened. The duplicate charge remained unresolved from 28 June, and I was ultimately left to sort it out myself. I had to make eight separate calls and messages with my bank before the matter was finally resolved. At no point did Cottons take ownership of resolving the issue directly with the payment provider or proactively keep me updated. Helen on Reception was the only member of staff who genuinely tried to help, and I appreciate her efforts, but the hold on my funds was still never released by the hotel. Instead, I was left without access to my own money for weeks while I chased the matter personally. What disappoints me most is that your response to my review completely overlooked the wider customer experience. There was no acknowledgement of the poor service, no apology for the multiple issues we encountered, and no recognition of the considerable time and inconvenience involved in resolving a problem that should never have become my responsibility. Good customer service isn't measured by how things go when everything runs smoothly; it's measured by how problems are handled when they arise. Sadly, on this occasion, Cottons fell well short. I would welcome a response that addresses the overall experience rather than focusing solely on the payment issue. In particular, I would like to understand: Why the wider concerns regarding customer service were not acknowledged. Why I was left to resolve the duplicate payment with my bank instead of Cottons taking ownership of the issue. What steps are being taken to improve both service standards and the handling of payment errors. What you feel would be an appropriate gesture of goodwill given the level of inconvenience and disappointment caused. I genuinely wanted this to be a place we would return to, as there were elements of the experience that were excellent, particularly the evening restaurant team. However, the overall experience and the lack of acknowledgement in your response have left me feeling that our concerns have not been taken seriously. I look forward to your reply. Kind regards, Ashley Costello
Great location for wedding we attended
Great breakfast choices. Room was okay. Spa facilities small and cosy. Loved the option of a drink or cake while there. Overall a lovely place to stay.
Nothing
The check¬in was welcoming and the staff were always polite and very obliging with all our needs. All the staff were affable whenever we encountered them in the foyer , in the dining room and also on the corridors. My wife had a great relaxing experience in the spa .
Nothing we were very satisfied with the stay at Cottons Hotel
Just had an amazing pedicure with Sharon. My feet feel a lot lighter after a fantastic massage & love the colour too ❤️ Many Thanks Sharon. Mandy x
The staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble for them
It desperately needs updating. Walls need painting. Toilet seat kept falling off
Clean well position for what we booked and staff were welcoming
Starting to signs of tiredness
Great spa experience with both Bethany for a full body massage and Sharon/Ruby for pedicure. Would highly recommend if you are in the local area
The spa & treatment were amazing. I had the most amazing therapist called Carol. She was so welcoming, warm & friendly. Made my birthday so special.
Went for a spa afternoon with treatment and afternoon tea. The spa is lovely, a huge pool, sauna, steam room and indoor and outdoor jacuzzi, which in the lovely weather was excellent. I had 2 x 25 minutes treatments, a back massage and facial. Carol, the therapist was brilliant, perfect depth of massage and my skin looked amazing after my facial. A great way to spend an afternoon.
Lovely spa day. The spa facilities were nice and clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and it wasn't too crowded. We enjoyed the outside hot tub and sun loungers making the most of the sunny weather. I had an excellent massage and facial from Amanda and the afternoon tea was perfect
