Lively atmosphere and great staff, Very good food - dinner and breakfast.

Room was adequate but 'tired'.

Our room although not overly large seemed spaceous and the bathroom a delight. Dinner fantastic, breakfast exceptional (my scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection) location was very central.

Parking...it was dificult to find as we had never been to Knutsford before and jolly old satnav sends you to the front of the property.

The location was great for walking around the town. The parking was free and easy to access. we checked in for 2 days stay but advise from reception was to re book the parking if we left the location. The breakfast was very slow. It took 45 minutes to get a round of toast and a breakfast muffin. There were only a small number of diners when we had breakfast. The serv choice of self service was limited. The room was on the top floor and was tired and needed a good refresh. Also the room was very hot but the heating wasnt on. If the window was opened the noise of aircraft was too loud.

location is on the flight path from Manchester airport so much background noise. The room was trired and needed an upgrade. It was clean but had a musty smell. The tea,coffe and sugar was ok but would rather have less and better quality . bottled water was probably provided as the tap water had a strange taste. Also the water pressure was very low. Having good mobility is essential as the hotel has numerous steps and the shower was over the bath. .

Tired carpet in room 2 Loose toilet seat in bathroom. Noise from Main Street ongoing until 0130-it was Friday night. Traffic noise from 0630. So not a great night’s sleep,although the bed was comfortable.

The room was lovely with little touches - such as fresh flowers, a jar of sweets. I liked the pictures on the wall. It was a good size and the room was bright and a good bathroom. Helpful staff eg finding me an iron.

The aeroplanes going over but I soon got used to it quite quickly.

Staff were really accommodating with an slightly earlier check in as we had a wedding to attend nearby. Breakfast was really good and beds were comfortable

The location was central for Knutsford.There was free car park at the back of the hotel,you need to register your car inside the hotel.The accommodation was dog friendly and we were made to feel very welcome.Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable.The staff were friendlly and very supportive with our needsl.The.vegetarian breakfast was 5 star we even got a sausage for our dog.We will definitely be staying again.

Room wasn't what I booked. I booked a room with a bath and it had a shower the staff did find a room with a bath but it was tiny and the bed was against the wall and reminded my if being at school at my parents house The carpet was dirty, dust everywhere the shower was probably the worst I have ever used and the wall bracket was lose The toilet seat was lose, the caps on top of the taps kept coming off The secondary glazing windows hand hand prints on them And when checking out the staff didn't ask if I had a nice stay

Breakfast was absolutely superb. The room was modern and clean.

The shower. It trickled out and we couldn’t get a consistent flow or temperature. We were there on one of the hottest nights of the year and the room was like a furnace

Fabulous location and stunning building and amazing staff, myself and my partner stayed many times.

There was a hair clip on the floor from a previous occupant and the room was situated right next to a huge fan of some sort outside the window which went off every 10 mins right through the night so we got no sleep whatsoever. We couldn’t wait for daylight so we could leave. They should not be renting that room out.

Very disappointed that there were no blackout curtains. I understand that it is difficult with louvred wooden shutters but it would be easy to have blackout curtains at both sides that one can pull across at night

I requested an early check in but this information was not available on arrival. We were attending a wedding and needed to check in earlier to get changed.

First of all the plus points - we came to stay for a wedding locally, private car park at the back is very handy, and the location in Knutsford is great. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who showed us to our room and offered to carry any of our bags. The room was clean and the bed very comfy.

Negatives - if you have mobility problems, do not book here. It’s an old pub with narrow steep stairs up to the rooms. The room was stifling hot, again it’s an old building so no air con & we had to make do with a small fan in the room which barely made a difference on one of the hottest days of the year (obviously out of control of the pub!) and as we overlooked the beer garden we had the lovely aroma of cigarette smoke etc if we had the windows open. The bathroom was clean but dated. The shower pressure was virtually non existent. Breakfast was ok, but was bog standard sliced white bread and not the sourdough advertised and no crème fraiche with the smoked salmon. Overall it was pleasant (and the heat obviously couldn’t be helped) but overall I expected more for the price

It was 37C when we arrived and the lady on reception immediately provided iced drinks and the fan worked - we're not used to such heat in Scotland. A tasty and delightful meal in a cool old part of the 17th century hotel and good local craft ale for me and cool Spanish Lager for Kathy were beautifully presented by attentive waitress. We didn't explore Knutsford as much as we had planned as even after the meal it was hot. A great breakfast in the same place and lots of help from very helpful staff. We had a crisis. My wife lost her Apple watch I had just bought her as a birthday present. We searched high and low. The staff helped and promised to do more as they cleaned room and dining area. We emptied every case and bag twice. Great relief - this morning it revealed itself attached to a Velcro strap in her sandals!

The windows are very old as to be expected so they don't block any noise from the town/road, the secondary glazing didn't help so we were woken by the England goals😁and early morning delivery but we did get enough sleep and at least kept up with the score!

The choice for breakfast was very good. There was free parking for hotel customers. The location was central with easy access to the town.

The room was described as a small double but was really only a single with a double bed pressed against one wall. OK for 1 night but not for any longer.

We liked the age of the property, friendliness of staff particularly the junior members evening dinner ok cabbage bordered on raw lovely pie and staff happy to change ice cream with apple pie to single cream. I arranged table for 1 in evening, I waited a long time to place my order, getting on for 40mins, I eventually asked to placed it. Another family seemed to have a delay receiving their order. Our room had odd sink taps. Shower was good if you could reach to turn it on. I'm 5ft 3 inches and my husband had to turn on. Why was it placed so high along with the basket to put Shower items in? The white towels were stained. Tea or coffee The room carpet was tired, marked and stained. Mould in corner of Shower. It was very hot, heatwave. The single fan wasn't man for the job and it was difficult to have windows open due to late evening noise The room needed an update. From the many other good reports my expectations were knocked Please put some coffee in the water. In today's caffeine world yours fell very short Bread used for breakfast was high in sugar, it didn't match the other products served. It was meant to be toast but must have been shy of the toaster!!!

There was a very squeaky door at the top of the stairs leading to the bedrooms next to my room. Not the fault of the Rose and Crown but I couldn't sleep due to the noise from the low aeroplanes directly overhead.

It was hot and the window overlooked the beer garden so too noisy when the window was open in the evening. There was no shelf in the bathroom. No drawers for clothes in the room - only one chair. The coffee machine was 'broken' so instant only on day one but it was difficult to obtain even this on day two. Breakfast on the Saturday morning when we left was at 8.30 so only had time for cereal and toast as we had a train to catch. 2 bottles of water provided on day one ,none on day two.

Comfortable stay. Booked small room as tho was all that was available. It was small! Food excellent and staff good. Perhaps some could do with some dementia training. The waitress we had was lovely, patient and understanding.

The staff allowed me to check in early as i was due at a wedding at 2pm, which meant i could get dressed and freshen up on a very hot day before travelling to the venue. Room was great, breakfast was lovely and the lady serving us was really friendly! Thanks!

Room was not value for money. Carpet was filthy. Filthy to the point that the soles of my bare feet were black from walking on it. Lino in bathroom not been cleaned. That was filthy too with a distinct large yellow urine mark next to toilet.

Comfy bed in a lovely well equipped room (Arley). Very pleasant helpful staff and full English breakfast was excellent. Along with the usual biscuits, sweeties in the room was a lovely treat.
