The location, decor, big room & bathroom wonderful, dinner & bfast delicious. Quite a few stairs if u have large suitcases, no ac but had a small fan. Handy if visiting The Farmer's Dog pub

The restaurant was under staffed, the waitress was run off her feet, so was a small wait to order & tables were left uncleared for a long time

In a nice quiet location with easy access to to the main routes to explore the Cotswolds. Lovely room, excellent breakfast and evening meals too. Very warm and friendly staff.

If I’m being really picky, a fridge in the room would have been a great addition but that’s just me 🤣

Ottima colazione (non a buffet), struttura davvero molto bella comoda alle Cotswold (e al ristorante The Farmer's Dog di Clarkson) e alla città di Oxford. Si trova in un piccolo paesino poco trafficato, dispone di ampio parcheggio gratuito e di ristorante con bar. Camere davvero belle, direi lussuose, e pulite.

No fridge in the room. For breakfast, you can order 1 plate per person only. One of the breakfast options is a dry sandwich that has only sausage and bacon with barbecue sauce on the side (which is not filling at all).

Eigentlich ein sehr, sehr hübsches Hotel mit viel Flair im öffentlichen Bereich (Restaurant, Bar, Garten) ... Aber die Führung des Hauses ist leider sehr jugendlich, lässig und entspricht in keiner Weise den angeblichen 5 Sternen. Es irritiert einen Gast in diesem Haus schon ein wenig wenn man vom Personal nach 2 Minuten nicht mehr wieder erkannt wird, denn dann ist klar, dass die Freundlichkeit nur "aufgesetzt" ist, vor allem wenn es sich nicht um ein einmaliges Ereignis handelt (ausnehmen möchte ich hier die junge Dame im Service ... sie war überaus freundlich und bemüht und hatte - als einzige - Ahnung vom Restaurantservice). Dass mein Mann kein Frühstück bestellen dürfte, da ICH noch am Zimmer war und der Chef die Bestellung erst entgegennehmen wollte wenn alle Gäste des Zimmers am Tisch sitzen entlockt mir im Nachhinein eigentlich nur mehr ein Schmunzeln, denn diese "kundenorientierte" Vorgangsweise passt eigentlich zum Gesamtbild. Irritierend ist auch, dass es bei der Konsumation eines Abendessens keinen Zwischenbon gibt wenn man dieses aufs Zimmer schreiben lässt ( normalerweise unterschreibt man diesen als Gast ja auch) und als "Krönung" wurde mir dann bei der Endabrechnung erklärt, dass man mir leider keine Rechnung (zur Kontrolle meinerseits vor der Bezahlung) ausdrucken könne, da das Druckerpapier leider erst geliefert werde !!! No comment... Die Abrechnung hat schlussendlich gepasst - aber Transparenz gegenüber dem Kunden sieht anders aus. Gut war die Küche und die Qualität der Speisen - und auch die Preise sind hier völlig in Ordnung, da man weiß, dass GB nicht wirklich günstig ist. Die 12% Service Charge kamen für uns auch nicht unerwartet - nur wenn das jemand nicht weiß ... auf den Menükarten sind sie nur teilweise angedrückt, da leider das Blatt anscheinend am Ende zu klein war ;)

Das Zimmer (Nr 4): Auf den ersten Blick sehr hübsch - nur es handelt sich hier um die Unterbringung für Gäste mit Bewegungseinschränkung und das bedeutete ein Badezimmer ohne Duschwände und eine damit verbundene Totalüberschwemmung bei jedem Duschen. Außerdem waren die montierten Haltegriffe alt und verrostet und die Wandfliesen teilweise auffallend schimmelig, was sicher auch mit der generellen Feuchte des Zimmers zu tun hatte, denn auch bei den Bettüberzügen hatte man immer das Gefühl, dass sie nicht ganz trocken sind. Vielleicht hätten wir in einem anderen Zimmer einen deutlich besseren Eindruck mit nach Hause genommen und deshalb wünschen wir allen weiteren Gästen einen Aufenthalt wie er von ganz vielen der vorliegenden Bewertungen beschrieben wird - wir können diese Erfahrungen leider nicht bestätigen...

Stanza pulita e comoda, colazione abbondante. Personale molto gentile. Pub annesso molto bello, siamo rimasti a giocare e bere fino a chiusura. Doccia enorme.

Purtroppo le normative inglesi vietano la presenza di prese della corrente in bagno.. Risultato un bagno stupendo ed enorme come quello che avevamo noi si rivela scomodo per certi aspetti.

Bei Ankunft wurden wir überrascht mit einem tollen Upgrade - eine Suite! Ein sehr großes Zimmer mit Himmelbett aus Eiche, Kaminplatz, Sofagarnitur, Kupferbadewanne in der Ecke, sehr luxuriöses Badezimmer - da blieb kein Wunsch offen! Der Empfang war zudem sehr herzlich und das Abendessen im Restaurant das allerbeste von der ganzen Reise. Wir möchten auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!

Very traditional small hotel, great details and calm , cosy atmosphere , very clean and comfortable. Warm welcome to our family and little dog ( water bowl and cooling pad was waiting for him in the room). The lounge/ restaurant areas were full with character , great bar, the staff were very helpful, friendly and professional, the food was absolutely fantastic.

Hele mooie gerestaureerde locatie, modern en goed onderhouden en schoon. Locatie ong. 30 minuten vanaf Oxford, 15 minuten van the Farmer’s Dog. Vriendelijke en goed personeel, prima ontbijt en diner.

De elektrische luxaflex in de kamer was defect, klein minpuntje. Gordijnen doen hun werk 😀. Helaas is de temp in de kamer niet in te regelen, gelukkig was het niet te warm weer ( of te koud).

Mancanza di zanzariere alle finestre, staff in servizio la mattina inadeguato (meglio i ragazzi in servizio la sera), mancanza di servizi da 5 stelle (la domenica il servizio chiude alle 19, la mattina per la colazione il servizio cucina cessava alle 10 e nessuno aggiungeva il pane se finito anche alle 9.30. Inoltre il ragazzo di turno le prime due mattine ha tolto le bibite frutta e yogurt mentre eravamo ancora seduti a mangiare)

A small point, bath towels were a bit hard.

The staff and venue were amazing, the staff were welcoming and attentive. The restaurant was exceptional and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

The actually location is quite far away from the nearest Town of Witney (about 6 miles) but not an issue really.

So stellt man sich ein Landhotel in England vor. Im Erdgeschoss befindet sich ein Restaurant und diverse Kaminrecken, sowie 1 Bar. Alles ist rustikal und sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Das Personal ist wirklich sehr freundlich und man fühlt sich halt als Gast willkommen und gut umsorgt, ohne dass es aufdringlich ist. Besser geht es nicht.

Obiekt bardzo zaskoczył nas na plus. Wnętrze całego obiektu jest urządzone ze smakiem. Nasz pokój był bardzo wygodny, z przestronną łazienką. Personel pomocny i zawsze uśmiechnięty. Rewelacyjne śniadanie podane szybko i nie było problemu z dodatkowymi życzeniami.

Great location for a visit to Oxford or just a quiet weekend in a nice accommodation. Great restaurant and bar, comfortable rooms and in general a very cosy place.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr ansprechend und modern eingerichtet. Zimmer und Badezimmer sind großzügig geschnitten. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und das Frühstück sehr gut. Parken ist kostenfrei auf den hauseigenen Parkplätzen möglich.

Wir hatten das Zimmer, das an die darunterliegende Küche grenzte. Hier wurde bis abends spät und schon morgens früh gearbeitet - was sich kulinarisch lohnt, aber im Sommer für das Schlafen bei offenem Fenster nicht ganz einfach ist. Das Zimmer war grundsätzlich sauber, aber beim genaueren HInsehen merkte man schon, dass in der Hauptsaison nicht alles ganz gründlich gereinigt wurde, was ein wenig im Gegensatz zur Top-Ausstattung des Zimmers stand.

One possible negative. The suite was above the bar. Which closed at 11pm so you would expect a little noise as shifts end etc. Would be better if the music was switched off at 11pm when people are stopping in the suite.

La stanza era un po' piccola per 4 persone e la doccia allagava il bagno. Inoltre le finestre davano direttamente sul cortile interno, rendendo impossibile tenere le tende aperte per avere un po' di privacy. Servizio al tavolo (sia a cena che a colazione) molto lento.

Brilliant pub with great rooms. From moment we arrived there was a warm welcome from Luke Good was very very good as was wine choices in glass or bottle. Breakfast followed the same example. Loved it

This is an absolute gem of a place. Staff were fantastic and it is tucked in a quiet little village in the countryside, but close enough to major routes. Room was lovely, as was the food in the restaurant. If we are ever back down this way we will definitely be staying again. Brilliant.

The food (breakfast and evening meals) was of great quality and cooked perfectly. The staff were so friendly and helpful. It’s located in a pretty village within easy reach of Oxford and Blenheim Palace. The Deluxe double room had everything you needed for a short break with a selection of teas and a coffee machine in the room. It even had a fan which was needed in the hot weather.

The only thing to feed back is to reconsider the room layout (Woodstock)- it would be better to reposition the TV so that it is directly at the end of the bed (ie swap with the dressing table) to make it easier to watch TV in bed. But this wouldn’t put us off staying again

Food was freshly prepared and well presented by friendly, welcoming staff. Room was bright and well maintained with all the required facilities and consumables.

The room was very comfortable and we were extremely grateful for the fan which was invaluable in the heatwave. The toiletries were good.

The wet room floor got very wet and slippery - using the rubber bath mat seemed to stop the water draining away quickly enough so a larger towelling bathmat would have been helpful. We had to mop up with one of the towels.

Wonderful, cosy place, made in style with a delicious breakfast! Highly recommended!

The location was exactly what we were looking for - easy access to Blenheim Palace and Oxford but far enough to be quiet and have a great feeling of British country side with local travellers.

Every thing was perfect and very friendly and helpful service provided.

Warm and friendly welcome on arrival, beautifully appointed rooms, spotlessly clean with plenty of tea/coffee supplies and lovely toiletries. A member of staff had contacted me earlier in the day to check if we required a restaurant reservation, this was very thoughtful because they knew our arrival time was uncertain when we booked. Good choice of breakfast and excellent dinner menu, great food served by super staff - we would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at The Harcourt, the staff were so helpful and welcoming, they couldn't do enough for us. The food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast, The rooms were very clean with comfortable beds. We will definitely be back to stay at this glorious Cotswold pub.

Perfect location for our itinerary.... close to Oxford but not too close. Our room was large and comfortable-- the bed was heaven, as was the bathroom. Towel warmer, great shower. The breakfast and the gentleman serving were both very nice.

There is no lounge or sitting area just for hotel guests. Our friends had a hard time meeting us, because there was no place to wait that wasn't the crowded pub.

Kein 5 Sterne wert. Im Badezimmer nur zwei grosse Badetücher und ein kleines Handtuch, keine Fussbodentuch . Keine Bademäntel, Slipper und gar keine Pflegeartikel. (Siehe: was macht ein 5- Dterne Hotel aus)!. Im Hof hat die Musikbox bis um ca. 23.00 Uhr gespielt. Es war ein zu warm im Zimmer. Schwierig bei Laktose Intoleranz!! Bedienung nicht die netteste.

We really enjoyed the location of this property and the interior of this hotel. We had a great stay here and the staff were very kind to us and great with our 1 year old daughter.

A wonderful, cosy, characterful pub stay with brilliant staff, amazing food and so great to be able to have our dog with us to stay, for breakfast and dinner! We loved it!

Ideally placed to visit many parts of Oxford/ Oxfordshire and neighbouring Cotswold villages, but from a more peaceful location that isn’t swamped with tourists. Spacious comfortable rooms and amazing food. Staff ( including manager) all very personable and attentive

Small issue with drainage of shower one day ( issue quickly resolved). Seem to get forgotten one eve and meal took over an hour to get to our table ( unlike neighbouring tables that ordered after us). They run with a small tight knitted team and it has a lovely atmosphere and so the time went quickly -so it was only after one hour that we noticed

Nothing to not like. Rooms lovely, food delicious, and even the dog was impressed.

We had a lovely overnight stay at the hotel. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I had a great night’s sleep. The day manager, whose name I unfortunately can’t remember, was excellent — very attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout my stay. Breakfast was also fantastic with a great selection. Overall, a wonderful experience and I would happily stay again.

„Nicht gefallen“ trifft nicht zu, aber da es kein Feld für „Anregungen“ gibt, hier eine Anregung: Ladeplätze für Elektroautos würden gut zu dieser Unterkunft passen. Allerdings sollten sie ohne Smartphone angesteuert werden können, denn es gibt dort kein Mobilfunknetz. Alternativ könnte man sich vorher ins WiFi der Unterkunft einwählen.

Fantastic place. From the initial welcome from Luke, small hiccup with dinner order but food was lovely when arrived. Ambience and style of the pub was beautiful. Breakfast was stunning also, and the room was perfect. Kids forgot their coats, and they said they'd post back to us. Spoke also with Dragoz, lovely chap. Altogether a fab stay and we will defo be back. We'll done the staff and everyone at The Harcourt

The room was well equipped and comfortable. Tea and coffee station is good with a nice variety. Staff are very friendly but the green light will prevent you from sleeping.

The green light that shines all night over the door has not been addressed. If you stay at this hotel take something with to stick over the green light. The drain in the bathroom smells bad.

Perfect setting and location for us Staff attentive yet not obsequious. All 3 rooms we booked were ideal for us. Breakfast was top notch 👍🏼
