The property was easy to find and the staff were amazing.
Everything was great
Tolle Lage. Freundliches Personal
Walking distance to many shopping places.
The room I got had a patio sliding door that was not quit sealed. The rubber seal on the left side- the fixed side was coming off and the strong winds were blowing inside making me a bit uncomfortable. Also, the faucet handles in the bathroom were so tight to turn on and off.

location
late checkout policy: I was told upon check-in that if I wanted to checkout later, I must call the morning of departure. They could have made an effort to accommodate my request by indicating on their system that I made such a request. By the morning of my departure, I was told that the room was already assigned to another customer. My flight departs 10 p.m. I cannot check in to my flight until 6 p.m. and there is nothing at the HNL airport to do.
Good Location - at the top of Kuhio Street so easy access to Ala Moana and Waikiki - nice decor in rooms
Busy road so road noise could be heard in room, This hotel like many others, seems to allocate the less favourable rooms to those who booked through sites like Booking.com, the Check In was awful - how many jobs do they need to do when there is a queue other than check the customers in, This booking was also part of the data breach and we had numerous bogus Whats Apps - we contacted the hotel direct about it and through booking.com only to receive a message on the day of check in to say ignore them so communication is poor, you pay a resort fee which is fine when others charge it but the facilities are lacking for the amount they charge such as housekeeping every 2nd day (we stayed 2 nights therefore no room servicing not even to empty bins) - the pool area needs a massive overhaul - dirty cabanas, bored looking staff and generally worn.
Tout était parfait
Il n’y a rien que je n’ai pas aimé
The Staff at the Ambassador is awesome! They are truly First Class. I was impressed with everyone working at Ambassador, especially Ms. Schereen. She provided outstanding recommendations and suggestions. Ms. Schereen was outstanding in assisting me get appropriate housing. The major downside was the facility itself, the rooms were well below the normal Hilton standards and was clearly an aging hotel which Hilton has recently purchased. Clearly no one should have place the first name in luxury hotels on this facility! I have traveled to almost all of the major Hilton Hotels (as a Diamond member of the Hilton Honor Program), this is worse hotel with name Hilton on it.
Great stay, nice pool and good amenities in general. Thank you Rowena from housekeeping for keeping the room clean too.
We have returned to the Ambassador hotel after our stay in May 2026. We loved the hotel, staff and food at the "Favorite Son" restaurant attached to the hotel. Our room has a partial ocean view high above the crowds. We are walking to many local food locations and shopping experiences. It's our go to place to stay while in Honolulu.
Location
The hotel is located at a very convenient location close to the beginning (or end) of the Waikiki shopping street and within walking distance of the beach. The hotel is clean, the beds are very good, staff is very relaxed, the elevators fast (useful for a 30+ storey building in the morning), staff is friendly and breakfast was superb. You have an included 'a la carte', meaning you can choose either one big menu item or 2 smaller. But freshly made instead of a buffet where everything is already sitting there for an hour in the bowls. The Acai bowl and French toast were our favorites. You can also get as many fresh water bottles every day from the lobby. The bathroom is also very clean and has a great shower.
Pricing can change on booking.com. I made my booking 7 months before I went. Then one week before arrival I rechecked and could get a much better rate. So I cancelled my initial booking and rebooked again and saved $100 a day with that. The Valet parking is - like everywhere in waikiki - rather expensive. You just have to calculate that $60 per day in. And because it is valet, you may need to wait a bit in the morning to get your car if there is a queue. Although the guys work as fast as they can and never had to wait really long. The resort fee is also an Hawaiian invention that most hotels apply, we paid for but didn't really use. One included perk is free rental of some beach equipment (sun umbrella, body boards, beach chairs), but that place sits at the other end of Waikiki and closes at 5pm. Half of the stuff is in a poor state, and closing time is way too early if you spend a day at the beach the North end. So you pay a small penalty (probably part of their business case). Nevertheless, these were minor issues and I would book again for my next Waikiki visit.
Great location, close to everything. Easy to get around
My rooms air conditioning was not the best. And the water pressure to the shower was nonexistent. That was the only downfall
The Ambassador Hotel of Waikiki has a great team. I was shopping around for different hotels that allow pets, and when I first called over the phone, their agent was very pleasant to talk to and gave me his undivided attention. While other hotels I had called, their agents were rude or impatient with me. I even went ahead and applied to the Hilton Honors Aspire Credit Card prior to our hotel stay. We received automatic Diamond Status, which offers perks such as: a daily $18 food and beverage credit for myself + another $18 f&b credit for my spouse while staying at the hotel. Especial mention to the front desk agents: Schereen and Annamaria. Such kind and genuine souls. Greeting us with a smile every time. Always so helpful. The director of rooms: Mr. Chun, very understanding. A big shutout to the house keeping team with their Aloha vibes, so grateful when we tip them. The valet parking team, working diligently to manage so many cars! The Yoga Instructor: Phoenix, great energy and amicable. And for the restaurant “Favorite Son” — Diana, always working super hard and taking care of guests, anticipating their needs and very respectful. ~Mahalo P.S. The Pool DJ on Saturdays is pretty good!

Streets were quite noise at night and very early in the day.
We had a wonderful stay! The hotel is conveniently located, and the valet parking made everything so easy and hassle-free. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious enough for our family. The staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming, especially **William**, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. His kindness and genuine aloha really stood out. We would definitely stay here again!
Free yoga courses provided every day. Phoenix is an amazing yoga instructor! The class was relaxing, refreshing, and exactly what I needed. I highly recommend joining a class with Phoenix. One tip: bring sunglasses to protect your eyes from the direct sunlight during class!
Design, pool, bar
Close to a lot of stuff. Staff was friendly. Beds were comfortable.
Our room looked straight out to the side of a building & had air conditioning units on the balcony. The shower in the king room was the tiniest shower I’ve ever used. Definitely different than the pictures.
Everything
Nice location.
Fire alarm went off three times
Check-in was smooth after a long flight from the mainland.
Phoenix created a great little nook by the pool that allowed us to feel the breeze, see the open sky, and really enjoy the outside during the practice. She really knew what to teach and helped me focus on the moment (which is huge in yoga). She was a great instructor and you can way tell she loves yoga with all her heart. It is a wonderful accommodation to have at the hotel
Clean room, most of the staff are friendly, valet staff are very helpful. There is Concierge desk next to the reception, try to check with them about discounts for entertainment trips around the Island, they have good offers. The booking includes daily room service, free water bottles, bathroom slippers, and loofa upon request. No coffee machine or microwave in the room, there is only water pot heater, one microwave available for residents in the second floor.
Location
Muito barulho nos quartos , dá para ouvir o quarto do lado a falar , o despertador . Quartos pequenos . Uma das torres parece que já tem mais anos do que outra e parece meio esquecida . Para um 4 estrelas deixa a desejar
Loved the kindness and compassion the instructor had towards all guests. Felt like a very warm and welcoming environment. Phoenix is an amazing instructor with her encouragement and instruction. I felt my confidence rise in the class to work on believing in myself more. Thank you!
Location was excellent. Room was clean.
Bed too soft. Terrible shower pressure.
Phoenix was such an amazing instructor! She made yoga by the pool a fun and carefree experience. We enjoyed our hour of exercise. It was a great way to start our morning definitely would recommend. Phoenix was very kind and made sure everyone was comfortable. We will definitely be returning.
Our stay at the Ambassador Hotel Waikiki was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, my friends and I were welcomed with genuine aloha and outstanding hospitality. The entire staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable, valued, and well taken care of throughout our stay. A very special thank you to Assistant Front Manager, Earl Quinn. Earl was incredibly attentive, professional, and genuinely caring. He made sure that every need, question, and concern we had was handled promptly and with kindness. His dedication to guest satisfaction truly stood out and made our vacation even more memorable. Earl and the entire team gave my friends and me a true five-star experience. Their exceptional customer service made us feel right at home and allowed us to fully enjoy everything Hawaii has to offer. We can't thank the staff enough for making our trip so special. We will definitely be back, and we highly recommend the Ambassador Hotel Waikiki to anyone looking for outstanding service and warm Hawaiian hospitality. Mahalo, Earl and the entire team—we can't wait to return!
Great location. Awesome hospitality. Comfortable and clean rooms. Great restaurant. They did a great job updating this Waikiki landmark. Would highly recommend. Great value.
My flight was delayed three hours which means I would’ve missed my connecting flight. I was traveling alone with my two young children and fortunately Annamaria Szabo and Shereen came to my rescue. They comforted me as a human being and then went out of their way to make sure I could reserve a room for a reasonable price. A stressful situation turned into a great experience at a hotel that I definitely will return to. Thank you for your kindness ladies! -Catherine and kids
Nice family friendly hotel in a good location with plenty of food trucks and convenience stores nearby. Waikiki Beach is about a 20 minute walk away. The beds were very comfortable, but the hotel wasn't as beautiful as the website photos. It's also not the best place if you're hoping to sleep in, as you can easily hear other guests' doors closing and foot traffic in the hallways.
Location, cleanliness, spacious room, professional welcoming staff :)
Low Water pressure.
To start with, the positive. The location is good. Perfect for exploring the Waikiki district and beach. Now the negatives. 1) We arrived at the hotel at 10am following a cruise. We were aware that the official check-in time was 3pm but asked if we could check-in a little early as we had a tour that was scheduled to depart at 3.45pm and needed to freshen up and change if possible. We were finally given the keys at 3.02pm. Very helpful! 2) The hotel had been booked for us as part of a Cruise package. It therefore came as a shock to us to find that the hotel imposed an additional (and compulsory) 'Resort tax' charge of $45 (+tax) per room per night. When I questioned this I was told the Booking agent should have explained this to us - they didn't! I asked what the 'tax' covered and was told WIFI, use of bikes!, use of pool and pool towels! We had no intention of using any of these facilities but still had to pay. We have traveled the world and never before been asked to pay for facilities that should come as standard for a quality hotel! 3) Ironically, considering the outrageous 'Resort tax' there was no room maid service during our 2 day stay. We would not normally be worried - but we could at least then feel we were getting some service for our money! 4) The room was totally unsuitable - particularly for a couple of 70. There was zero room on one side of the bed or at the foot of the bed. This meant that the only way of exiting the bed at night was to climb over (and disturb) your partner. I did ask if there was any possibility of upgrading but was assured there was no other room available. Reading my review back, I feel that a 2 star rating was generous. I certainly would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had an amazing stay at Ambassador Hotel Waikiki! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. A special thank you to Schereen at the front desk. She was incredibly kind and welcoming, and gave us the best recommendations for places to visit around Oahu. Her tips made our trip even more special, and we truly appreciated her help. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hawaii. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Amazing service, I never leave reviews but service was so good I am. Issues with the room reservation and Schereen was super helpful getting a room that worked for my fam. Totally saved our trip.
I went with my son and we stayed 6 nights! Cons: - Weak showerhead - No real coffee machine - No microwave - Housekeeping every other day (not a big deal to me), but maybe to some. - Rooms are cleaned way too late. From my experience, rooms should be done cleaning by 3 pm because the last thing you want to see coming back to your room at 5 pm is the room still being cleaned. - Old bloodstain on bedsheet which was addressed right away. Thank you! Pros: - location!! - You can text front desk and they are super responsive! - Staff are all super friendly and helpful. - Responded to inquiries immediately! - Overall a really great stay and AMAZING location!
Location is good, short walk to beach. Parking attendants were great, especially with getting our vehicle in and out of parking. Good restaurant downstairs 15% discount with stay. The check in for us was late and we waited until 5:00pm to get into our room but the rooms were clean and comfortable. Cute pool with pool bar. The concierge was helpful with questions and things to do and see. Noise was minimal. Atmosphere was nice.
Stayed 10 nights. I want to lead with this: every staff member I dealt with was genuinely kind and clearly wanted to help. That's the only reason this isn't a lower rating. The problems, and why they matter: Valet is the only parking option — no self-parking, no street parking. Every single morning took ~20 minutes to get my car back. The valet staff were visibly hustling, but the lot is too narrow and the morning crew too thin for the volume. This isn't a staffing effort problem, it's a management planning problem, and it ate real time out of every day of my trip. Room maintenance was consistently behind: non-working outlets, a shower door with no handle, a leaking faucet, and cockroaches in the bathroom. Individually minor, but the pattern points to deferred maintenance, not bad luck. Small but telling: in-room "coffee" is a tea bag, no microwave to reheat it once it cools, and no way to add cold creamer. In Hawaii, of all places, this is a strange thing to get wrong. What worked: the downstairs restaurant is genuinely good — skip the prawns, get the Ahi, cocktails are excellent (pricey, but that's Waikiki). Gym is small but functional, and they'll get you an iron/board on request. Pool has a nice, uncrowded vibe. Bottom line: I wouldn't return until there's visible investment in maintenance and valet staffing. The staff deserve better management support than they're currently getting.
From the moment I arrived at the Ambassador Hotel Waikīkī, I felt genuinely welcomed. What truly made my stay exceptional was the outstanding customer service from Will and Schereen. They greeted me with such warmth and enthusiasm and were genuinely excited to share that I had received a complimentary upgrade to the Penthouse. The penthouse was absolutely stunning, and the breathtaking ocean view made my stay even more memorable. Waking up to that view was an experience I’ll never forget. As incredible as the room was, it was Will and Schereen’s kindness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality that left the greatest impression. They went above and beyond to ensure I felt valued and cared for, turning what would have been a wonderful stay into an unforgettable one. Exceptional service is what keeps guests coming back, and because of Will and Schereen, I’ll always remember my experience at the Ambassador Hotel Waikīkī. Thank you both for making my visit so special—I can’t wait to return!
My family of 8 spent 15 days at the Ambassador Hotel of Waikiki. We had a fabulous time. The hotel staff was exceptional and we treated like royalty. We ate in their restaurant “Favorite Son” at least once a day. The staff was very eager to serve us and the food was very good. We had three rooms and the rooms were always taken care of while we went out for the day. The front desk was amazing, we had some difficulty with our flight arriving to Honolulu a day late, after notifying the Ambassador hotel , Earl Quon, Assistant Front Office Manager and his staff went into action to make sure that my family had a great time during our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel and I will be back for another visit. Location was great and close to all shopping needed.
Piscine, service de voiturier
The overall hotel experience was great! From front desk to housekeeping, everybody was easy to communicate with. Especially with Vilma and Jamaica. They always checked on us and have everything set up at the soonest possible time. However, we had some problem with valet. I think his name was Warren, he was rude and was cursing on us when we tried to park a second car. Good thing front desk was there to intervene and fix the problem.
Valets were attentive and quick! Will at the front desk was professional, friendly, and extremely helpful. Truly a joy when coming back to my hotel at the end of the day. Sandra also stood out, we enjoyed our conversation with her, we felt like we were talking with a friend. I was surprised by the ocean view as the hotel is many streets back from the shoreline. Our room was clean and comfortable. I saw some poor reviews for the restaurant so I almost didn’t eat there. It was actually very good, honorable mention,…fresh Ahi poke and Ahi sandwiches. The rates were reasonable, especially for Waikiki! I would definitely stay here again.
It was amazing I’d do it over again and party on a Saturday by the pool with a beer hell yeah!
Had a great experience here for our honeymoon. Everyone was so kind and informative. If you stay here, be nice and leave a big tip! The folks here work hard to make your vacation special.
The check-in staff was very helpful.
Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig. Die Betten bequem. Der Personal sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich.
Der Poolbereich war nicht sehr einladend. Die Zimmer wurden nur jeden 2. Tag gemacht.
Convenient location
Cars driving loud at night
Great hotel and location. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Skip breakfast at Favorite Son in the lobby unless you like raw egg.
I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel in Waikiki for 13 days (May 31 to June 13). The staff are super nice and friendly. Front desk and Valet staff are the best in Hawaii in my experience. But the most memorable moment in my stay is the kindness, hospitality, sweetest of the housekeeper Ms. Dolores Palting. Ms. Dolores Palting always greets me every morning with smile and respect, and starts my day knowing it will be a great day. Ms. Dolores Palting always clean my room perfectly which made my stay very pleasant and comfortable. I highly recommend Ms. Dolores Palting for any employee recognition if the hotel offers. For any questions please do not hesitate to contact me or email me. Thank you once again and Mahalo. Very Respectfully, Mr. Joemer Canlas joemercanlas@yahoo.com 671-864-8419
Food was excellent and healthy. Staff were pleasant and attentive. We stayed at the hotel across the street and this was our first choice for food every time. Delightful how many nationalities of servers were represented.
Muy bueno! Recomiendo. Está muy bien ubicado y es bonito. El personal amable.
Lo único es que hacían el aseo cada dos días, y a la segunda vez se les olvidó por lo que tuvimos que pedir que hicieran el aseo en recepción. El resto todo impecable.
My originally booked type of room was unavailable and due to the inconvenience, Will waived my valet parking fee which was so kind and thoughtful. The atmosphere is super cute and I love the decor and furniture. I enjoyed staying in my room and it had everything I needed. Bed was comfortable and I fell asleep easily. The location is convenient and so many things (including the beach) are walking distance. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, especially Will and Warren! I definitely recommend staying here and I would book again.
Very cozy!
Die Lage
Walking distance to shops and beach
Comfortable beds, quiet A/C unit, pool area was great.
Only negative, and it is minor, power point location not useful. The charging points next to the beds didn’t work.
Best ever
Nothing
Nice clear place. Great pool and gym areas
I had an amazing stay at the Ambassador!! Will was incredibly helpful during my stay. I will be back!
Location on top floor with 2 bathrooms, lounge, bedroom and deck overlooking the ocean
Parking rental cars was extremelly expensive for family of 12..
This is a boutique Hilton hotel with a fun sun and surf vibe. Our room was very comfortable with plush beds, an updated and ample bath, a large screen TV and spacious baloney with a nice ocean view. The adjacent restaurant, Favorite Son, provided an excellent breakfast.
My friends were at the same hotel
The staff were very rude at the front desk.. they tried to over charge us.. rooms weren’t cleaned
The property was clean and great location was close to all the corner stores. I really enjoyed my stay and all the staffs are really helpful and nice.and view waasss nicee..
Nothing
Very nice swimming pool Nice room (not big but good for a one / two night stay)
Heart of Waikīkī, retro feel, big bathroom, spacious room, luggage storage, helpful staff.
City can be loud so you need headphones.
We will stay at Ambassador every trip. Our second stay in a year. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is top notch. Earl is awesome and goes out of his way to ensure we have the best customer experience. Ambassador will always be our first choice when visiting Waikiki.
Expensive but ok small rooms
Located near many shops
Very nice staff!
I do not normally leave reviews but after the level of service and of value I received from Lauren Nakamura and her team for coordinating a small business meeting and 5 day stay for myself, I felt obligated to share. Top notch all the way around. Highly recommend this property for business and vacation.
Location and renovated room
External walkway to room. 19?floor !!

Amazing staff throughout our stay they went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable! Especially Will who gave us an amazing room with a great view as well as recommend areas we should visit during our stay! The breakfast included was also delicious and we enjoyed it everyday we were there! We wanted to thank everyone who made our stay one of the best experiences! We will be thrilled to come stay here when we visit Hawaii again!
My stay was overwhelming. The room was fabulous. The staff words can't explain how awesome they took care of us. The front desk clerk Will was outstanding. He explained everything in detail. Told us about the restaurant and what food we should try. Even came to the restaurant to see if everything was going well. Told us if places of interest. He is the sweetest front desk clerk I ever met. He treated every guest in the same manner. I dont think I could stay at any other hotel when visiting Hawaii. All your staff deserves a big raise.
The hotel was fine. Only one complaint: one day the room was not made up at all and the next day it was being made up late, around 5 pm as we were returning from our day out. Front desk agents Will and Anna Marie were both terrific and followed up on our requests. The location is good but not particularly close to Waikiki if that's what you want.
Service was great by all staff Comfortable bed
Way too noisy. Everything closed up and it sounded like we had all windows and door open. Need double glass.
Stanze bellissime, piscina bella e gentilezza del personale
The modern restrooms on the first floor by the elevators was an excellent experience. The games by the pool, free sunscreen, and the strawberry water with kiwis. The fitness room The breakfast included was a treat! It was so much fun
The valet team works hard. And volunteered recommendations.
House keeping was lax. The extra mile just seemed to be elusive. Phone calls and messages take to long be answered and/or returned. The pool and lack of service is very mmmeeehhh.
Staff, facilities and location
Not many options for breakfast.
Location is ok, but not great. Rather on the far end of Waikiki district.
Big cockroach under bed. Room rather small, no view. Biggest problem was parking. Hotel asked for more than 50$ per night for a parking lot that seemed to be a public parking space. No clear sign indicated that this shall be a valet parking facility. Hotel only reduced charges after I requested to involve police.
The Room was very clean and tidy.
It's old (needs a little work). But overall it's fine.
This was my first time in Hawaii and The Ambassador made it a fantastic experience. Valet was kind and quick. Staff pleasantly checked me in and even changed my room when they realized my company booked the wrong one. They provide water, but there is also water refill stations inside. The lobby was clean and spacious. The room was great with a nice view on little deck with a table. The beds were SO comfortable, I almost didn't want to leave them. The shower took a second to figure out but once I did it was great and the water was nice and warm. I love the wallpaper and lighting behind the beds. Check out was easy and pleasant. And its only a 15 minute walk from Waikiki beach! I will definitely stay here again.
Originally built c. 1960 with a second tower added in 1968, this property retains much of its original swank. A recent affiliate with Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, it is aiming to be a “boutique” rather than full service hotel. It is situated on the western edge of Waikkiki, across the street from the north side of Fort DeRussey, a block or so from the canal. It is a short 10 - 15 minute stroll to the heart of Waikki, and just across the street from where my meetings were being held. For a business trip, this was a great spot. Close to plenty of restaurants, parks, and the beach, but not so much of the street party atmosphere. Leading with its strengths, my room was large, comfortable, with a balcony, air conditioning that worked, a large well ventilated bathroom (no steamed up mirror), and 100% cotton sheets. I would stay here just for the well maintained HVAC and cotton bedding. The room has a hot pot, so for those of us who drink tea, there is no fussing with trying to make the drip coffee maker produce plain hot water. The room is stocked with coffee bags. The open air lobby is not large, but I did stop to enjoy the small garden or wait and found there to always be a private seat available. The parking valets were courteous and quick. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food is good and the coffee is excellent. (I’m hitting all the critical business trip features.) I considered giving the property a 4-star rating because many of the restaurant’s breakfast items are served in plastic cups: overnight oats, greek yogurt parfait, and fruit cup; this detracted from breakfast. However, it was nice on my last day to pick up something to go the night before and store in my room’s refrigerator before my 7 AM flight, the waitresses kept my coffee topped up, and the restaurant’s atmosphere at breakfast was pleasant. In the post-COVID environment, the hotel defaults to housekeeping every other day, but does honor the Hilton standard of daily housekeeping though only upon request. I would recommend this hotel.
Its over 2 weeks and my holding fee is still there and no one will answer me. My bank cant help, the hotel needs to action this asap.
The room that I stayed in was not very clean - even dirty. Walking around the room for a very short period of time the bottoms of my feet were dark with dirt. So dirty in fact that the dirt was visible when taking a shower. I have never experienced that by simply walking across any floor. I would not stay here for any future trips.
Great hotel staff friendly, rooms are chill with an attached restaurant with great food and drinks. Great views of mountains and oceans with good access to shopping and Waikiki beach.
