Canadas Best Value Inn and Suites Fernie

We liked that we weren’t to far from the ski resort and had come on New Year’s Eve . But when we asked about shuttles and how to get back to the ski resort for the new year’s festivities no one had a clue what was going on. They gave us a few cabs numbers and turns out there’s only one cab in all of Fernie . So we had to take a cab home with 3 different families which is not a big deal. But the girl at the front had told us that there was gonna be a shuttle that would bring us back into town and drop us right near our hotel and those were not existent.

Friendly staff, great location and exceptional value for money. Didn’t get time to check out the hot tub or pool. Breakfast was very good - plenty of food and hot coffee. Highly recommended

It was all good

The hotel was good overall. The room itself was older but well kept up and clean. All of the amenities worked. The sound between rooms was great, I did not hear anything from other rooms.

The front of the hotel needs more soundproofing. The hotel is located next to the main road. During our stay snowplows could be heard multiple times throughout the night and were very loud. The snowplow sounded like they were right next to the hotel and in actuality they were on the main road in front of the hotel.

Staff were awesome, breakfast was awesome, pool was clean with lots of towels

The bed and pillows were aweful, the heater behind the bed was awkward and the extension cord plug in was loose and unusable.

3rd year in a row of staying there. Great location and great value. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Linoleum floor is a bit cold, but I already knew that.

Rooms very neat & clean . On top swimming pool & breakfast is appreciative.

Super dated Beds are very uncomfortable bed frame falling apart Super thin walls(could hear all our neighbors) We were on the ground floor and the second floor sounded like they were coming through. Room smelled of old cigarette smoke. Continental breakfast was left wanting. Hot tub was way over chlorinated. Sidewalk outside of our rooms were super slippery

Ended up moving to different hotel as this accommodation was not suitable for an alone traveler. Room was dark, old and dirty. Door to outside of Motel was flimsy and i was not confident in the lock. Sounded like i was standing on the road.

Dislike. The room is filthy and smells foul. Not good to stay, we have babies and they gave us 2nd floor.

Un-assistive staff when in need of a plumping issue we were told it would have to wait till morning, very loud, beds were not comfortable.

All we did was shower, sleep, leave very eary. That's all we needed.

It was right off the main highway so easy to find and continue our travels.

This property advertises they have a hot tub - It is permanently closed so False advertising. The liner of the pool is coming off. The room had bugs all over the floor and some in the towels, fruit flies all over the room. Our window was unlocked and open (we were on the main floor) and we only realized it the middle of the night! The air conditioner is a residential one and could not keep up. No available plugs by the bed for phones to be plugged in and wiring looked and felt sketchy. We will never stay at this facility again.

Finishes were dated, which you’d expect for the price, but the cleanliness was lacking. Need more thorough cleaning between guests.

The mattresses were not the most comfortable and the pillows were terribly flat. The breakfast area was cramped with everything in one corner.

Had a quick overnight stay while travelling and picked this place because it is convenient and right off the highway. The area around the hotel is okay (not nice and a few sketchy types walking around) but the room was terrible. The carpet was stained, the stairway up to the second floor was unsafe. Definitely don’t recommend.

The property was great for pets and an easy late night check in process. Breakfast room was small but had decent choices of food.

Time to remove the dirty carpet. Thank you for giving me a back room off the highway where it was quieter

Room was clean. Get what you would expect for a motel type set up. Price was reasonable, I would stay again.

Great location for downtown and river trail. Took awhile but finally discovered the Roku remote controlled the tv volume, not the tv remote that did everything else. Staff were friendly, breakfast was adequate. We requested a late check out, but our key cards didn’t work after 10:30 am. Good thing one of us was in the room to let the other back in.

Too close to a major highway, very noisy! Not clean, especially bathroom. Beds ok, but need updating. Poor lighting in whole suite. We have stayed in far nicer places for less money.

The room was fairly large. It held a lot of furnishings. The hotel is on a busy highway and is dated. There was a noisy family in the room above us, we could hear everything. The beds and linens were clean. We walked everywhere from the hotel. There is quick access to a walking trail along the Elk river that circles village of Fernie.

Did not like this motel at all…felt unsafe and the property was dirty and unkept

Clean, quiet and good price point BUT, bed frame was squeaky and the AC so loud it sounded like a jet plane and the toilet was loose. It just may be my room but it needs a little attention.

Great location. A stones throw from walking path on the Elk River. Can walk to anything you may need. Easy check in. Room was clean, quiet and perfect for me and my dog. We stayed in the building at the back. My only immediate concern was the grated steps up to the second floor but my lab flew up them once she realized they weren’t scary. If you have been to Fernie in the winter this is why they have the grated steps. Wish I could have stayed longer.

The exterior is deceiving; the rooms are actually pretty nice and clean. Simple breakfast was good. Would stay here again for the price compared to other hotels in town. Only downside was the lack of pillows.

The woman who checked us in was quite brusque. The room was very worn, the bathroom especially around the tub was dirty. The walls are dirty. The hall outside the room was dirty - litter and stains. The bed was very good and the sheets and pillows were clean and free of odors.

Old building, requires alot of updating. Limited parking due to crew taking up alot of parking spaces. No water offered uless you wanted to pay for it. pool area dirty, no hot tub. Contential breakfast.. just muffins limited spaces to sit and enjoy. Easier to stop somewhere else.
