This hotel had the friendliest staff I've come across in a while. They were all so cheery and nice. The hotel is very dog friendly. There were little extras on check in, like a guide to dog friendly places in Canterbury etc. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. The staff are as asset to this place, they are the real stars of the show.

Buona posizione, subito fuori il centro storico di Canterbury che si raggiunge in circa 15 minuti a piedi in una strada centrale. Bella la camera cozy rinnovata, ma gli ambienti comuni risultato datati e poco curati (ascensore non funzionante, odore di cibo per le scale e sala colazione datata).

Ambienti comuni datati, solo una parte ha subito un restauro che l'ha resa moderna, il resto, scale, corridoio e sala colazione, sono "vetusti" e poco curati. Colazione discreta, poca varietà di dolci, ma ben fornita con opzioni anche vegetariane e per intolleranti al lattosio.

Sehr heruntergekommen, Flecken auf Teppichen und an Betten, Spinnweben am Fenster, inklusive Riesen Spinne im Zimmer. Im Bad kommt schon der Kitt aus den Fugen - das Hotel hat seine Beste Zeit hinter sich!

Das Hotel wurde in den letzten Jahren renoviert. Die Zimmer und Bäder sind sehr ansprechend geworden. Die Bar wurde neu gestaltet und hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Während unseres Aufenthaltes wurde wohl weiter renoviert. Es gab für uns keine Störungen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und Service orientiert. In der Bar wurde Dinner angeboten. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut und es hat gut geschmeckt.

Uns hat nichts gestört.

Poor breakfast standards and service. Lift out of order and evening meals bar only as restaurant had an event on all day. Again poor food where I went out instead so not overly relaxing. Bed was comfy but towels dirty and just a bit slack overall

A friendly welcome from reception, our room was ready early and it was clean and spacious.

Pillows were a bit flat, shower on second morning wasn't as hot as it could have been. We only found out after we booked, that renovations were taking place, although we didn't feel impacted as we didn't want to eat in the restaurant.

We warned the the hotel was undergoing restoration, so didn't expect 5 star. but to get to the roon through the fire doors was a struggle having made to use the stairs because the lift had broken down, The presentation of the room was not welcoming, creased bed dirty bathroom mirror and no drinking glasses and one available elelctric socket for kettle, hair dryer and phone charger, unless you crawled on your hands and knees to where the tv was plugged in inside a cupboard.

Wir hatten leider ein Zimmer nach hinten raus. Deshalb ist die gesamte Küchenabluft ins Zimmer gepustet worden. Keine Klima also musste das Febster offen sein. Zusätzlich war der Lärmpegel der Lüftungsanlage sehr hoch und die ganze Nacht durchgängig in Betrieb.

Great location, walking distance to main attractions

Lift didn’t work, we travelled with two suitcases and multiple backpacks (a family) and it was very hard to bring everything to the 3rd floor (which is really 4th floor outside of the UK). There was one dirty towel in the room. Hotel is very run down.

The location was great. The rooms were clean and spacious and the bathroom was great. The bar area was very nice having been newly refurbished and was very classy and felt high end. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

It was still mid renovation so had an odd feel to it. The rooms really need air con, it was way too hot and humid. The car park needed a clean as there was a muddy drain right by the entrance that I slipped on and nearly fell. The floorboards were very creaky and a lof of noise came from the room above. The beds were spectacularly uncomfortable and the pillows rock hard with no spare pillows. The windows open fully wide over a flat roof so it felt quite insecure leaving them open overnight, adding to the heat. The food being served in the bar was pretty average given the price of it and I had to send mine back as it was still cold in the middle which was disappointing.

Hôtel très bien placé, calme. J’étais inquiète par rapport au bruit des travaux de rénovation mais nous n’avons rien entendu. La chambre n’était pas rénovée mais elle était parfaite et très propre. C’est un style rétro anglais plein de charme. Le petit déjeuner est très bien. Ils prennent soin de réapprovisionner le « chaud » au fur et à mesure. C’est qualitatif et bon. Le personnel est absolument charmant et même notre chien a été très bien accueilli.

Great location for closeness to canterbury. Breakfast was vast and delicious. The rooms were clean and a standard hotel size.

The staff members that we interacted with at reception, breakfast and in the bar were a credit to the place and were really enthusiastic and friendly.

Having paid a relatively high price for a 2-night stay, I did have high expectations of both the accommodation and the breakfast and sadly it was a bit of a let-down. The room was clean and comfy in an old fashioned sort of way but nothing special while breakfast was disappointing especially having seen the photos on the hotel listing on this site but it was eatable so did the job.

Prima hotel voor een bezoek aan Cambridge, op 10 minuten loopafstand van de stad. Er is een uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet. Op de kamer is een Europees stopcontact aanwezig.

Het hotel werd gerenoveerd, daar hebben we geen ongemak van gehad, maar hierdoor hebben we de gezamenlijke ruimtes niet in de oorspronkelijke staat gezien. Onze kamer was netjes maar vrij standaard.

Alles hat gepasst. Sehr ruhiges Zimmer im 3.Stock(Aufzug vorhanden), geräumig, sauber, bequeme Betten. Gutes vielseitiges Frühstück. Sehr nettes Personal. Parkplatz direkt am Haus.

Signage at hotel entrance from road could be improved to clearly show its the entrance to the hotel. Only sign on entrance gateway said "Private Parking" which was slightly confusing.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They particularly enjoyed having our dog Luna staying at the hotel - and she was very pleased to receive the attention! The bar food we had was also very good, and plentiful.

A little disappointed that the air-conditioning didn't work in room 112, and the bathroom extractor appeared not to work. But these were minor inconveniences, and overall we all loved the room.

Łazienka- pokruszone fugi na całej podłodze, spłuczka działała jak chciała (zazwyczaj nie spłukiwała), w umywalce tylko ciepła woda, pod prysznicem tylko zimna, do tego wchodząc do łazienki drzwi waliły o zlew. Korytarz- strasznie brudna wykładzina, zwłaszcza na klatkach schodowych. Teren zewnętrzny- raczej nie zadbany, stoliki wystawione na dworze nie myte bardzo dawno. Śniadanie takie sobie. Restauracja śniadaniowa zdecydowanie nie jest przyjemnym miejscem. Sprzątanie tylko na życzenie. Najlepsze to jednak instrukcja w pokoju jak postępować w trakcie upałów czyli zasłonić żaluzje i uchylić okno (tylko pod nim znajdowała się wentylacja restauracji, która głośno buczała do 22). Zdecydowanie kwota jaką zapłaciliśmy była za duża w stosunku do tego co oferowano.

All the staff were super friendly, helpful and informative. Our room was very clean, light and airy. We found the bed to be comfortable. There was a good selection at breakfast, continental and hot selection.

Only downside that there was unfortunately no air con. We was provided with a fan and had a comfortable night sleep regardless.

Super Lage, um zu Fuß in die Stadt zu laufen. Sehr freundliches, aufmerksames und hilfsbereites Personal und sehr saubere und geräumige Zimmer. Prima für unsere Übernachtung nahe Dover, um am nächsten Morgen die Fähre zu nehmen. Wir haben uns schon zum zweiten Mal für dieses Hotel entschieden und uns besonders auch über die entspannte Möglichkeit gefreut, direkt vor dem Hotel zu parken, um das Auto für den Rest des Aufenthalts stehen zu lassen.

Laute Lüftung oder Ähnliches aus dem Hinterhof des Hotels hörbar (auch im dritten Stock). Wurde zur Nacht glücklicherweise leiser. Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig, die Lautstärke während der Nacht war aber in Ordnung. Die Handtücher rochen etwas seltsam würzig, die Zimmer waren aber makellos sauber.

Bit dated obviously, but as expected. Old English charm to it.

The location was great for walking into Canterbury tourist area and being on the bus route made it possible to travel a bit further afield. The hotel breakfasts are good value and the newer, renovated areas of the hotel are lovely.

Our room was not one of the newer ones and was fairly tired with no air-conditioning (there was a desk fan provided), and no mini fridge in the scorching heat wave. Staff were good enough to bring us cold water and ice each day, but that's not a good solution. The outside seating areas are very pretty but need a little gardening love.

Staff very friendly, Breakfast was great, all very clean, and very happy with our stay, would highly recommend.

Location is good, just a ten minute walk to town. The shower worked OK.

First room we were given on third floor (in the roof) was very hot with just a small fan to circulate the hot air! The room next door had a barking dog staying, the only other room available was the room the other side of the Barking dog! These rooms were described as cosy.... meaning small with a double bed big enough for one person. To my horror I found I was drying myself with a dirt towel after showering. The blind on this "refurbished" room didn't fit, so light filled the room as soon as the sun came up. Minimal amount of tea/coffee in room, enough for one cup each. NO water supplied even though the weather was very hot and rooms on floor 3 are in hot room space. Breakfast was terrible, so bad that even though we had paid for our breakfast both days of our stay we didn't bother having breakfast on the second morning. The staff were polite but didn't have any idea.

Het hotel is wat gedateerd hier en daar maar ze zijn dat duidelijk aan het renoveren. Wij hadden een refurbished kamer en die was echt prima! Goed bed, goede kussens en schoon. Zeer aardig personeel en hondvriendelijk wat erg fijn was. Locatie tov stad is ideaal. Ontbijt erg goed.

Let op dat parkeren gaat op wie het eerst komt. Er is best veel plaats maar deze wordt ook gebruikt door bezoekers aan de stad. De hond mocht niet in het restaurant/de ontbijtzaal komen maar wij mochten wel in de lege barruimte plaats nemen. Wat ons betreft helemaal prima maar had dat graag vooraf geweten. Flesje water op de kamer was attent geweest.

Der Service war sehr nett.

Das Treppenhaus ist sehr schmutzig. Das Zimmer unter dem Dach hatte 2 Dachflächenfenster von dem sich eines nur ein bisschen öffnen liess, das andere war zugeschraubt. Wir haben und einen zweiten Ventilator geben lassen und versucht die NAcht mit nassen Handtüchern und Ventilatoren zu überleben. Bei heissen Temperaturen sollte das Zimmer nicht vermietet werden. Die Nacht war furchtbar! Anscheinend ist das Hotel im Umbau und wir hatten das Pech im alten Teil unterzukommen.

Het hotel is bijzonder sfeervol, een leuk oud gebouw met heel veel interessante details. Ik hoop dat dit met de renovaties niet verloren gaat. Het personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De locatie is perfect, op wandelafstand van het centrum. Ook heel fijn dat je gratis kan parkeren bij het hotel.

Het was bijna onmogelijk om te slapen in de warme kamer op de bovenste verdieping. Er zijn 2 velux ramen, waarvan er 1 kapot is, het andere kan licht gekanteld worden. Niet genoeg om de verstikkende hitte uit de kamer te krijgen. Eigenlijk is deze kamer niet geschikt om te verhuren. Omdat we met 4 personen en een hond waren, was er geen andere kamer beschikbaar.

Everything was lovely, the room, breakfast was superb.

A well placed hotel within walking distance of the city centre with plenty of free parking for hotel guests. Hotel has been invested in with good quality fixtures and fittings and very helpful and pleasant staff. Excellent breakfast and a lovely bar. We were also able to cancel one room the day prior to arrival without a problem. Highly recommended.

Het personeel is uiterst vriendelijk, heel behulpzaam en kundig. Het ontbijt was een compleet lopend buffet met alles wat je ervan mag verwachten. En de locatie is heel dichtbij het centrum zodat je in tien minuten lopen alles kunt bezichtigen of winkelen.

Het is een hotel dat gedeeltelijk wat verouderd is, maar dat zijn ze nu aan het opknappen. En helaas was het uitzicht van de kamer niet mooi, een plat dak met allemaal ventilatiebuizen. Maar verder is het keurig schoon en de bedden zijn prima!

Room wasn’t as advertised, very poor quality for over £200 per night. Cleanliness awful, extractor fans running 24 hours and air con noisy. Useless response from staff on all issues.

Das Hotel hat eine gute Ausgangslage für Unternehmungen in der Stadt inkl. kostenlosem Parkplatz. Die Einrichtung ist sehr schön und besonders. Das Personal war überaus freundlich und bemüht. Das Frühstück war ausreichend und typisch Englisch.

Die Toilettenspülung hatte wenig Druck. Das Wasser im Waschbecken sowie in der Dusche/Badewanne floss sehr schlecht ab. Die Kaffeemaschine beim Frühstück gab lediglich schwarzen Kaffee aus, egal ob man Cappuccino oder Latte auswählte.

Even though it was being refurbished. It caused Absolutely zero problems. Staff were all lovely. Welcomed our 2 chihuahuas. Lovely patio garden area. With allocated poo bin. Shirt walk into town. We stayed here for one night before traveling on the eurotunnel. It was nice to stay in a room with absolutely no animal smells room was perfect. Bathroom had shower and bath combined. Coffee facilities. Cannot fault will definitely be staying here next year.
