Charismatische Jugendherberge in super Lage. Alles vorhanden was man braucht. Lodge im Garten war super (mit Kühlschrank und Bad). Gemeinschaftskunde und Aufenthaltsraum im Haupthaus. Super netter Empfang und allgemein sehr freundliches Personal.

There was nothing particularly positive about our experience, as we were unable to stay at the hostel.

⭐ 1 star Very disappointing experience. We booked YHA Canterbury for one night after returning from Poland with two young children. We had been driving for approximately 16 hours and arrived in Canterbury expecting to be able to access the hostel and check in. Unfortunately, there was no suitable parking available for us. The alternative suggested by the hostel was not a realistic option after such a long journey with two young children and luggage. What disappointed me most was the way our situation was handled afterwards. We explained why we could not stay, but instead of recognising the circumstances, our case was treated as a cancellation/no-show. We subsequently contacted Customer Resolutions, but they continued to argue that alternative parking had been suggested. The issue was not simply that we did not want to use another car park. We were travelling with two children after an extremely long drive, and the suggested alternative was not a practical or reasonable solution in the circumstances. I would strongly recommend that the hostel make its parking situation and realistic access arrangements much clearer to families travelling by car, especially those arriving after a long journey. Based on our experience and the way our complaint was handled, I would not stay here again.

Booking m’a réservé un lit chez les hommes. Je me suis fait avoir en réservant un dortoir de 4 lits pour 2 nuits alors que j’étais seule. Nla pas cherché à proposer les autres libres à d’autres personnes . Je suis sûre que j’aurais pu avoir un lit en dortoir de femmes la 2e nuit

Le déjeuner était bruyant, immonde et insuffisant.

Some toilets were out of order.

Great price, friendly staff, good hot shower, clean facilities, comfortable bed, good kitchen facilities. Great place, would stay again.

The only minor thing is only the small lockers had space for a padlock so could only fit phone, wallet etc in there. The other bigger lockers were shared. Would have preferred to be able to lock my stuff away but this is nit picking and not enough to take marks off my 10/10 review.

Easy walk into town, very clean, wonderfully friendly staff and great food.

Schöner und bequemer Aufenthaltsraum mit Sofas zum Verweilen. Geräumige Gemeinschaftsküche, traditionell englisches Frühstück. Wir waren in den Cabins und es ist einfach ein tolles Erlebnis mit quasi Garten vor der Tür.

Excellent location with parking and 10 minute walk to Canterbury centre.

Wi-fi signal was limited and struggled to connect downstairs in the communal kitchen. Limited ventilation in dormitory as windows are designed not to fully open however a large fan was provided

On booking.com it said check in finished at 2200 at the hostel it said 2300. I wouldnt of rushed as much if i had known

As a family of five the wooden huts in the garden are perfect for us and they have ensuite shower and toilet. Great value and really good location in New Dover Road.

All the parking had been taken by other guests before we arrived so had to find somewhere to park the car.

The receptionist was amazing. She was so friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable The price was good

The room was dusty and not very clean.

The staff was wonderful and it's in a quiet part of town outside of the city centre; there's a Sainsbury nearby! I really like how there's a kitchen with plates, utensils, and stove and kitchen to use, and a dining area. There are games, a common area, and some space to park. There's lots of people staying so it feels safe, and it's very family-friendly. The bunk bed has an outlet and light, and the supply a locker, too! The showers are quite clean which makes the stay wonderful.

Nothing to dislike, just areas I hope can enhance the stay. It was tremendously hot inside the room and the windows don't quite open. They placed a large fan but it doesn't really help. If there's any way to help cool the rooms during the hot summer heatwaves, it will make the stay better because I sweated in bed and couldn't sleep. It would be lovely if there are curtains on the bed, and it would be extra extra nice if there's an ice machine. Luckily there was a Sainsbury 5 minutes away and I can buy some ice and food.

Die Atmosphäre im Haus war gut und die Lage ebenfalls. Kein Straßenlärm.

Es war nicht besonders sauber. Es wird nur oberflächlich geputzt und im Bett waren Haare. Das muss auch in einer Jugendherberge nicht sein. Sehr harte und hohe Kissen.

The location and staff.

Windows need to open more fully. Health and safety Law has ruled this current situation, which is no fault of the YHA. Dorms need fresh air!!! That is also a safety issue... Dorms can be smelly and infection spreads. Fresh air is essential for health. If parents want have or to bring their kids, their safety must not overrule the health of others. IT'S A YOUTH HOSTEL, not a children's home. People bring their germs from all over the world to Canterbury, and we all expect healthy air!!! Wanna bring kids? Book a pod, or better a hotel. Please don't punish the rest of us. Savvy??? Peace.

The very late check in of 10pm. Convenient for catching an early ferry the next day. Having our own room as a family with a private bathroom

The noise from the bin men at 3am! We had to have the windows open which made it noisey. We also had a downstairs room.

Room was tidy and well ventilated. Breakfast was good. Only downside is the car parking spaces. Very few spaces and difficult to find parking in near by roads as they all have parking restrictions.

The member of staff did not explain about the hostel facilities. I told him that was my first time there. I didn't known that there was a kitchen that I could prepare a cup of tea for myself. I found out the following morning.

Schöner Aufenthaltsraum, richrig englisches Frühstück, nettes Personal. Die kleine Hobbit Cabin war richtig gemütlich und besonders. Fällt größer aus als man denkt. Personal ist super nett und die Lage ist auch ok.

Beds weren't great - a bit squeaky. The room was a bit stuffy and the fan was broken.

Frühstück und Lage waren gut. Das Gebäude ist sehr schön, die Gemeinschaftsräume auch. Es gibt einen schönen großen Garten.

Unser Zimmer war sehr klein, mir fehlte eine Möglichkeit zur Kofferablage.

De jeugdherbergsfeer. Vriendelijke medewerkers. Prima om te wandelen naar het oude centrum. Parkeren op voorterrein.

Tussen 5.30u en 7.00u was er lawaai van leveranciers. Erg jammer want eigenlijk was de rest prima voor de prijs en kwaliteit. De badkamer op de 4 persoonskamer beneden rook niet fris maar met de ramen open geen probleem. Alles wat we nodig hadden was er. Fijn om zo Canterbury te ontdekken.

A great place with super nice people, great facilities (including a living room and a dining room), and a beautiful backyard.

The building and the location is amazing, good atmosphere and beautiful garden in the back. It was silent at night and the people were nice! The kitchen and the dining area was nice and clean.

We hated the carpet floor, it was dirty and impossible to clean. The sink was next to our bed which was weird. We tried to use the laundry room but it was dirty and the dryer took forever. The lack of staff was often problematic.

It was wonderful. Better than expected. The description didn’t match the facilities. There was more than we had expected (eg it had a shower room with toilet - not shared as advertised. It also had a fridge and microwave which weren’t advertised!). Winter duvets were a bit much in nearly 30 degree heat!

The lights above beds (children on top bunk) came off and where celotaped on. The bathroom sealant was covered in mould When we first arrived we where told the wrong hut , it wasnt until we where seen struggling to get in that a staff member came out I asked if there was a fan in room on arrival and i was told "there should be" but infact we didnt have one The customer service in the morning was shocking too when handing the keys back the two members off staff where just flirting over the counter no interaction wanted with customers When arrived , the wifi code/name wasnt shared so had no service/wifi in hut as me and my children sleep with white noise and we had no fan. Gorgeous hut , but shame about the little details

Excellent overnight stay for a multi-day hike. 4 Gents sharing a private room, comfy bunks, en suite bathroom. Good clean facilities.

Beautiful sourounds, very friendly staff that got the TV going,so we could watch England's win against Norway. Clean kitchen area and all toilets with paper and soap. That is the best,next to the good dhowers. At night time its quiet,people are observing the rules.

Everything was super.My second stay and will cpme again when I got commitments in Canterbury. Thank you for everything.

4 Bettzimmer war sehr schmal und eng Wenig Abstellfläche Zwei Steckdosen haben nicht funktioniert

Fijn ontvangst, prettige locatie

We hebben vaker in hostels overnacht maar in deze kamer waren de matrassen echt slecht. We sliepen op de begane grond, en ‘‘s avonds stond er voor het raam iemand te blowen. Vanwege de warmte stond het raam open en helaas kwam het bij ons binnen.

Nice property, walk to the cathedral is not difficult, area is safe.

Had to pay for towels, no sheets and comforter was very hot as was the room

After London, it was a breath of fresh air. Old fashioned and nice.

The light switch and electric point next to my bed didn't work. Showers were far away (basement).
