It was amazing
Just got back from Couples Swept Away and I cannot wait to go back. It made me feel line I was 28 again. I made a ton of friends, everyone is so nice, piano bar karaoke every night, beach is amazing. Food was great, romantic, island feel. Absolutely nothing to worry about. Tennis courts, massages, free water sports. I learned how to wind surf. Catamaran Cruise was excellent as well, really fun and breathtaking water scenery, we got to swim in these really cool caves and slide off side of the boat. So we met a bunch of ppl who have tried all different resorts around Caribbean and they all said that was the best one, they just go there now. Also the best friend i made on trip stayed at an upscale non all inclusive place and said he regretted it. Shout out to Z and Ultimate Chocolate at Piano Bar karaoke!
absolutely beautiful beach and resort. So welcoming and the BEST fitness facilities and staff. Loved the couples massage at the spa. Godwin, our server at Feathers and OShane at Patios added to the joy of our stay!
Honestly.. I wanted to love this place so much because I read such good reviews, but I'm not "swept away". I'm used to going to Cuba, but with everything happening over there lately we decided to try Jamaica. I was suggested this resort by my travel agent and reviews looked promising. The first day, room service didn't come at all (no big deal). But then I realized how LOUD it is there.. I couldn't even sleep because of how much noise is happening at all hours of the night. Frogs croaking, weird lizard noises, people talking, construction sounds, traffic.. the list goes on. At least my husband was smart enough to bring ear plugs - I did not. I guess it's my fault for booking the atrium suite? The food is decent, however when ordering breakfast room service you're asked to fill out a card and hang it on your door (same process to have the mini bar filled). Well, I filled out both cards the night before as requested. When our breakfast came the next morning half of it was missing and the mini bar never got restocked. Then the thing that really aggravated me was how hard it is to find a covered spot on the beach. Cuba has endless covered huts so you don't have to scour the beach for some shade. Here, there's maybe only 10 huts in total and some areas where they provide you with an umbrella if you're lucky. Well, one morning I got up (what I thought was early enough) and headed to the beach at 7:30 AM. All the huts were taken... so I found one that just had 2 towels hanging on the chairs and no other belongings like a purse, sandals, hat, etc.. so I assumed the towels were just left there from the night before and it was free for the taking. After sitting there for an hour I had one of the workers come up to me and tell me someone was sitting there. I said we'll that's funny because I've been here for an hour and no one has come up to me to tell me that? He told me they left their towels there and went for "a run" down the beach. Ok, cool? So they can just "claim" a spot by leaving a couple of towels and go about their merry way until they feel like coming back?? So after a bit of back and forth I told the guy I would just move but he insisted I stay. So now after an awkward altercation it's fine for me to sit here anyways. Ridiculous. If they aren't going to have enough huts they need to have a strict policy where you can't just "reserve" a hut with a couple towels and then go about your business. I paid over $5,000 for my husband and I to celebrate our honeymoon there. Not at all impressed and from what I was expecting from Jamaica.. disappointed. Thank God the scenery and water was beautiful because that was the only thing that made me happy.
Another wonderful holiday at CSA with my husband, daughter and her boyfriend. This was my 3 rd visit and there were some very positive changes from previous visits. We especially enjoyed the coffee shop by the lobby. The staff were friendly and attentive, the coffee delicious and it was so nice to have the addition of gluten free cakes. The sports team were very welcoming and Narson was always around with a big smile. We very much enjoyed the tennis coaching and my daughter enjoyed the pickleball coaching. The beach was beautiful, though there was still beach- bed hogging despite letters left in everyone’s room. I was especially annoyed by an American lady who had reserved 3 seats for herself and her husband and despite me having nowhere to sit, refused to let me have the 3rd chair. The food was good, especially in the specialty restaurants, though the buffet was disappointing for me ( gluten free). Labelling was very inconsistent with maybe only one dish being labelled as gluten free. The music in Palms in the evening was appallingly loud- absolutely impossible to have any dinner conversation or hear what the server was saying. I remembered this from previous visits. It actually made the evening unpleasant. My poor husband is deaf so found it incredibly difficult. Unfortunately, as relatively late eaters, it was impossible to avoid the deafening music and being zapped by my watch warning me of the too loud environment! The breakfast music was delightful- just the right volume for eating. My other small gripe was with the reception staff ( Collington in particular). Our door swipe stopped working and we were locked out of our room for 18 hours. Reception was really quite abrupt and accused us of doing something wrong ( we hadn’t! ). Thankfully we were on the ground floor and could leave the patio door open ( not ideal) as it took 3 visits to reception to get the maintenance crew. I must add that the lady on reception was lovely. A special thank you to the chambermaids who did an excellent job of looking after our room. So, overall, we had a wonderful trip. It wasn’t perfect, but it was very good. We are very much looking forward to our return visit in September.
An excellent resort with exemplary staff who could not do more to make our experience the best ever. Thoroughly recommend.
A wonderful 4th visit — already booked for October! This was our fourth stay at Couples Swept Away, and it once again reminded us why we keep coming back. We spent a week here in June and are already counting down to our return in October. Sports & Activities: A huge highlight was Gus, the visiting pickleball coach — he was fabulous and made the sessions so much fun. The sports facilities overall are excellent, and Stephen, who manages them, is lovely. We also noticed and appreciated that the resort had invested in upgrading the spin bikes since our last visit — a small touch that doesn’t go unnoticed by repeat guests. The Beach: As always, the beach was incredible. We got an email from the room manager about not reserving beach beds, which was a nice touch — though it’s worth reinforcing this policy a bit more consistently with guests. Guest Services: A special shout-out to Karen in Guest Services, who couldn’t have done more for us and truly made our last day special. Dining: The food was great as always — we’re partial to the à la carte restaurants, and Goodwin at Feathers was a delight on both occasions we dined there. One small suggestion: the schedule for when Palms is buffet vs. à la carte could be clearer, as we accidentally turned up expecting one and got the other. Also, a gentle request to the entertainment/sound team — the evening performances (especially the steel drums, which we love!) were a touch too loud to comfortably hold a conversation while dining, to the point my Apple Watch flagged the noise level and my boyfriend needed earplugs. Turning it down just slightly would make a big difference. One area for improvement: Unfortunately, we’ve had repeated negative experiences with one specific reception staff member, who has been curt and talked back during check-in — something we’ve now experienced on multiple visits, and my parents have had the same issue with him. Arriving after a long travel day is when guests most need a warm welcome, and this really isn’t the first impression Couples should be giving. That said, this is very much the exception — every other staff member was wonderful, and Benita on reception in particular was warm and welcoming. We’ll be back in October — see you soon, Couples Swept Away!
We visited Couples Swept Away at the end of January and unfortunately experienced some truly unprecedented bad weather, which meant we couldn’t enjoy everything the resort has to offer. The weather obviously wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but it did have an impact on our holiday. There were plenty of positives. The food was consistently excellent, and I loved that you can book the à la carte restaurants as many times as you like rather than being restricted to one or two visits. It’s a great option if, like us, you prefer table service over a buffet. The beach is stunning, the grounds are beautifully maintained, and the staff were friendly throughout our stay. The biggest disappointment for us was the evening entertainment. The main entertainment takes place in the buffet restaurant, so it doesn’t feel like a dedicated entertainment venue. It’s quite bright and lacks the atmosphere you’d expect for an evening show, especially as people are still eating dinner while it’s on. This also ends early. Once that finishes, the only evening entertainment is the piano bar. The piano bar is essentially a large karaoke night. We met several guests who return to the resort year after year some told us they’d visited more than 40 times (not joking) which creates a lovely community feel for returning guests. However, as first-time visitors, we found the evenings became a little repetitive and would have appreciated a bit more variety in the entertainment. A huge shout-out to Big Al in the piano bar, who was fantastic. He was full of personality, made us some brilliant shots and always helped create a fun atmosphere. We’d also like to mention Marky and Delon from the entertainment team, who worked incredibly hard, were always around chatting to guests and encouraging everyone to get involved in the activities. They were a real credit to the resort. One small thing to note is that if you’re staying in one of the rooms at the back of the resort, you can occasionally hear traffic from the road. It wasn’t a major issue for us, but it’s worth being aware of if you’re a particularly light sleeper. Overall, Couples Swept Away has a lot going for it: fantastic food, a beautiful beach, lovely staff and a relaxed atmosphere. While we think the evening entertainment could be improved with a dedicated venue and more variety, we still had an enjoyable stay and would recommend it to couples looking for a peaceful Caribbean escape.
Amazing time!! Beach, food rooms everything was awesome
Large rooms with balcony and sea view/beachfront, very comfortable and clean. Lots of bars in the pools and in the beach. Staff is just the best - all very friendly and happy to serve everyone. Good restaurants and attractions every night. Perfect for couples.
Fantastic! Such a layed back and relaxing resort with all the water sport activities you need without ever leaving. The food was delicious, the drinks flowed & the staff is awesome as usual. This was our 2nd stay & we brought another couple with us. They have travelled to many places & agreed that Swept Away & Jamaica can’t be beat. Make sure you take advantage of all of the included water sports. So many people miss out on everything that is included! We always found the food to be great with maybe a couple of things not agreeing with our taste buds but overall the food was excellent! If you like lamb make sure to order it. We had it at 3 different restaurants & it was cooked to perfection every time. They serve premium liquor and the beer was cold! The staff is fun & friendly. If you want elegance this is probably not the resort for you. If you want charm, beautiful landscape grounds, delicious food with plenty of choices, drinks made with premium liquor & the friendly/happy Jamaican staff then this is exactly the place for you! Seven mile beach is gorgeous. You can walk in both directions. Yes, you will get solicited by the beach vendors but a polite “no thank you” & keep walking worked just fine for us. No problem, after all the vendors are just try to make a living. It was definitely hot but between the sea & the pools we were able to cool off easily. Do yourself a favor, don’t overpack. You will be in a swim suit the majority of time! We will definitely return! Ya Mon!
What an incredible vacation! Couples Swept Away exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. The beautiful beach, lush grounds, and relaxed atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind. What really made this trip unforgettable was the amazing staff. A huge thank you to Dwight at the bar for taking such great care of my sister and me all week. You made every visit fun and welcoming! Chase at the buffet went above and beyond with his outstanding service. Not only did he always greet us with a smile, but he also recommended and brought us fresh coconut for breakfast, which became one of our favorite vacation memories. A special shout-out to Tajay at Watersports for taking us out on a Hobie Cat. It was an unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of our trip. There’s nothing quite like sailing across the Caribbean with that incredible view! And finally, Verline on the catamaran tour was absolutely fantastic. She kept everyone laughing from start to finish, had so much energy, and made the excursion even more memorable. To everyone at Couples Swept Away, thank you for making us feel so welcome. We left with amazing memories and can’t wait to come back!
It was amazing. The food and service was phenomenal. Tina, at Patois, was the kindest, most helpful server I've ever met. We will be back!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I loved the garden veranda room because you can walk right up to your room at any time. I felt so safe at this property and taken care of by the staff all the way down to the gardeners! The fitness center across the street is awesome. We loved the breakfast wake up service, deciding tipsy each night after dinner what time we wanted to wake up the next day. the late night snack grill is awesome! All the activities were also a fun part of our stay. Especially the hat making! People said mixed reviews on tipping but we found that they are very much appreciated! Loved all the cute cats. Loved the egg station at breakfast as well

This was our first time at an all inclusive resort. We visited CSA for our honeymoon and booked through a travel advisor local to us. We have lots to say about the place - with some mixed feelings about different parts of the resort. The shuttle from the airport to the resort was about an hour and a half drive, which we were aware of before and prepared for and allowed us to see several different parts of the island. Upon arrival to CSA, we were greeted with smiling faces and a glass of champagne while staff checked us into our rooms. Our bags were carried to our room for us, which was nice and they shared information about different parts of the resort and activities for the week. The rooms were nice, but not very well lit and the plugs were very few and oddly placed. Our room specifically had floor to ceiling shutters with bug nets and a small A/C unit so it was very warm during the day and only cooled down to about 82 degrees at night, which was a little disappointing but we weren't there to be in our rooms anyways... The views from our balcony were immaculate as you will see in the photos. The beach was beautiful, the white sand was fluffy and they raked it every morning. Attendants began raking sand, with a tractor, every morning around 5 or 6 am which woke us a few times. We could hear, what we assumed, were towel carts loudly rolling by on the walkways around 6 or 7 every morning and sometimes late at night which often woke us up or was a nuisance. Good service comes at a cost, though, and the service truly was great. Unfortunately, the pools were small with little seating and not near enough shade or umbrellas for the jamaican summer sun/heat. The facilities could use some updating - fresh paint, a few tiles were missing, etc. The food was wonderful and we have said several times that we don't think we had any bad food. The portion sizes were small... compared to American portions... but it served us well because we were able to try so many different things. Lemongrass and Feathers - their higher end restaurants which required reservations were nice and the food was great, but again could use some updating. Lemongrass was the only place we commented that we didn't have great service and the servers didn't seem happy to be there. We were able to be seated and served very quickly, and with smiles at all other food spots. The beach was wonderful and beautiful and there were plenty of umbrellas or shade to enjoy the beach without the blazing sun. Unfortunately, vendors were constantly up and down the beach trying to sell... anything, really. But, a firm "no" sent them on their way! Security guards were stationed on either end of the resort's beach and we never felt unsafe in any way. Water sports were included which was wonderful! The water was choppy while we were there so they didn't recommend a few things, but we got to enjoy snorkeling and wake boarding and the snorkeling team was the absolute best! We had a great time with them. I wish I took note of their names to give them a shout out. Givan at the bar was wonderful and served up anything we asked! Our housekeeper - Millette was wonderful and kept our room clean and neat. Kerissa at the martini bar made the best drinks! I wish I took note of more names of those who made our experience wonderful. Overall, the service was wonderful, the facilities were nice but could use some updating or care, the security was reassuring and made us feel safe, the rooms were cute but could use better air conditioning, the grounds were kept well and clean, the food was wonderful, and we would recommend CSA to others.
Airport Arrival: Our experience at the airport Couples Lounge was quite disappointing. The furniture was worn, and the only snacks provided were packages of banana chips. For beverages, only beer and water were readily available; I did not see any wine, though it may have been included. Hotel Arrival: We were immediately struck by the welcoming demeanor of the staff upon our arrival. Check- in was seamless. The chilled sparkling wine provided a truly refreshing experience. Accommodations: We were disappointed with the size of the room. We booked the Beachfront Verandah Suite. It was simply a room not a suite. There is only one chair in the room. There really should be a couch in the room . The bathroom was quite small and has only one sink. I would be remiss if I didn't share fact that the items we requested for the mini bar were delivered within a half hour of our arrival to our room. The balcony was large and well furnished. However, I will state that the main reason that we booked this room was for the location. The location did not disappoint. We were about 100 steps from the beach. Fresh towels were delivered during the morning maid service and in the evening during turndown. Our wonderful, kind and caring housekeeper was the one and only Fiona. We simply loved her and developed a memorable friendship with her. The Beach: WOW! One of the best beaches we have visited and we have stayed at Turks and Caicos, Grenada and Anguilla ... just to mpention a few islands. There was NO sargassum or rocks as you enter the water. Simply delightful. Flag service was available daily. Cold fruit kabobs were served on the beach as well. The Food: We thoroughly enjoyed the food. The daily selections were varied. Those darn cinnamons offered at breakfast were decadent. Generally, they had Jamaican favorites as an option for breakfast. They do need to include some non-pork meat options. We were greeted warmly daily by Carol and Odianyi. They ensured that we had everything needed to have a positive dining experience. We had no problems making reservations at the two specialty restaurants. As was suggested in some of these posts, we made reservations while we were awaiting check-in to our rooms . How could I forget the beach BBQ....everything was scrumptious, cocktails, beer and entertainment were wonderful. Unfortunately, for the scales, on a couple of occasions we indulged at the grill which was open from 10:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Maybe that's why I gained a few pounds????? The Entertainment: Every night there was entertainment until about 9:00-9:30 in the main dining room. We ended the night at the night club where there was live singing and of course karaoke. Hopefully, Harlie will be there as your bartender. His mixes are fabulous,. The evening ended there with a DJ. Thus, our visit to the darn grill. OOP's don't forget to visit the martini bar.... best drinks...... We absolutely enjoyed our time here and will absolutely return!
My partner and I escaped to Couples Swept Away in Negril for five nights in June 2026—a shoulder-season getaway where the only thing we planned to overthink was which cocktail to order next. Although the resort was operating at roughly 65% occupancy, the staff were running at a full 110%. Every interaction was warm, genuine, and delivered with that effortless Jamaican hospitality that somehow makes you feel like a regular on day one. Our beachfront room was perfectly positioned in the middle of the resort, opening onto an endless stretch of powder-soft sand and an impossibly turquoise Caribbean Sea. There were always plenty of loungers, lots of natural shade, and water so calm it looked as though someone had ironed it flat overnight. The resort stretches gracefully along Seven Mile Beach, connected by a shady footpath that takes about five minutes to walk from end to end. Despite its size, everything feels pleasantly close—just enough distance to justify ordering dessert. Our room was what I'd call comfortably shabby: a wonderfully comfortable bed, a renovated bathroom, dependable air conditioning, and a spacious verandah overlooking the beach. The minibar and coffee maker live on the verandah as well, which initially seemed odd until I realized morning coffee with an ocean view is actually a pretty brilliant design decision. The Palms buffet served breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a smaller but consistently well-prepared selection. Two hot stations rotated meats, vegetables, and starches daily, while fresh fruit, salads, and desserts rounded things out. It wasn't overwhelming—and honestly, that's part of its charm. The à la carte restaurants require reservations and are well worth making. The menus offer a welcome change of pace from the buffet, and the attentive service comes with plenty of smiles, jokes, and genuine conversation. Bars are scattered generously throughout the property, serving everything from frozen tropical concoctions to top-shelf spirits. You'd have to make a determined effort to go thirsty. If your vacation momentum slows to a crawl (as it should), simply ask for a red flag and beach service comes to you. It's hard work relaxing, after all. Like any resort with a few decades of stories behind it, Couples Swept Away shows a little age here and there. But what it lacks in polished perfection, it more than makes up for in character, atmosphere, and extraordinary people. Every request was met with a smile, every interaction felt genuine, and by the time we reluctantly packed our bags, we were already discussing when we'd return. And that's probably the highest compliment I can give it.
The resort was in immaculate condition. The staff was happy and pleasant 100% of the time. The food was really good, rooms and staff cleaning them did it to perfection. From the time check-in, heading down to the beach, the restaurants, facilities, rooms. We were there for eight days and every day was perfect.
We spent 7 glorious days at CSA for our honeymoon. Everyone was exceptional. We had a bumpy start but the Team at CSA fixed it. My only negative thing is the transportation from the airport! It is a long bumpy ride and I hope they can find a way to improve it. Maybe a boat from MB to Negril! I also wish they had room service 24/7.
Guest Review We are a couple (60 and 65 years old) and returning guests. We previously visited in 2019 and several times before that, and we continue to return because of two main reasons: the excellent dive team and the consistently strong service attitude across the resort. Overall Experience The dive team remains outstanding — highly professional, detail-oriented, and very supportive during boat entry, exits, and equipment checks. As older divers, safety and confidence are extremely important to us, and the team consistently delivers at a very high level. The overall staff attitude across the resort is friendly, helpful, and genuinely “above and beyond.” We also appreciate that team members interact with each other with ease and humor — this reflects a healthy and positive working environment. Dining – Palm Restaurant We were less enthusiastic about the decision to the idea to discontinue the buffet at Palm restaurant. The buffet was one of the key reasons we return to this resort, as it allows guests to eat at their own pace and sample a variety of dishes in small portions. We especially remember the red snapper — my husband still talks about it five years later. The dessert team deserves special praise — excellent quality and presentation. Areas for Improvement Fruit selection at the buffet has become more limited compared to previous visits. Coffee service: cream has been replaced with milk, which is disappointing for us. The cocktail “Dirty Banana” recipe appears to have changed and no longer includes banana, which significantly affects the taste. Service attitude at the Palm restaurant bar needs improvement. Dive Team Standing ovation for the dive team. Truly excellent. As older guests, we come specifically for safe and enjoyable diving. The team is highly professional, attentive to detail, and very supportive throughout all aspects of diving operations. Coffee Shop (Main lobby) The coffee shop is very popular and often crowded. It may be worth considering expansion or adding additional coffee machines, as there is currently only one and demand is high. Also, we would love the option of real cream again instead of milk.
We really wanted Couples to be our go to hotel for our summer Caribbean holiday. It has so many fantastic things going for it. The beach and sea are spectacular, the rooms are good and the gardens really nice, and the staff generally were very friendly. However for us the food was not up to five star standards. On occasions it was really good other times not so. Sometimes the evening food in the buffet restaurant was inedible, poor quality meat cooked badly. Calling it jerk does not make it any better. What we could not understand is, of an evening there were four restaurants, the buffet and three a la carte, yet all three a la carte had the same kind of food. They do not seem to comprehend the point of three restaurants is to give clients a choice. Italian or Indian or Chinese, fish or steak. Twice we had to leave the a la carte restaurants because there was nothing on the menu we could/would eat, or the staff did not seem to understand what an allergy is. I have a cheese allergy and one evening everything on the menu had cheese in it even the crab cakes? Admittedly some of the staff were horrified and tried to work around the menu, but it soon became a battle that ruined our enjoyment of the hotel. We stayed for three weeks and had the food been better would have booked for next year, but sadly we must look elsewhere.
Awesome resort! Beautiful beach! Food is amazing! Staff is beyond welcoming and meticulous ! Everything reached expectations. A truly five star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 resort. I recommend ! And for sure we will be back!
I was a bit apprehensive about traveling with my full family on this trip, but Couples Swept Away exceeded every expectation as usual. It remains my go‑to destination for a reason. The food was consistently excellent, and the staff—always a highlight—were as warm and welcoming as ever. Omario assisted us with our bags, just as he has in past years, and he continues to be a wonderful presence and a true asset to Couples. We took full advantage of the many perks: golf, the catamaran cruise, sailing, scuba, snorkeling, and of course the incredible gym—arguably the best in Negril. The unexpected standout this time was spending several days playing pickleball, which became a favorite part of our stay. Bottom line: my wife and I are already looking forward to our return in May 2027.
My miracle morning started with a beach walk, followed by 2 great employees who make my morning specialty coffee drinks ( Kadie) and Romario who makes the most delicious pastries every morning. More to post later but if you’re looking for the best all inclusive with the best beach look no further than couples sweptaway.
Our stay was superb! Anyone was so kind and always eager to help! The resort was beautiful and well maintained! We will definitely be back providing I can talk my husband into flying again!!! Our room was cleaned at least twice per day! Food was delish!
The experience was less than I expected. The welcome to the resort was less than stellar, I guess I was expecting a Caribbean vibe in which it wasn’t remotely close. The grounds are in need of better drainage.
Extremely clean, the staff is the best! They are extremely friendly, helpful, best experience. Place is very quiet, relaxing. There is no many option for pool, it’s a place to stay on the beach. It’s not crowded, many exercises activities to participate, the cruise in the afternoon for the cliff is very good. The food is great, could have more options for snack during the day.
The food is great, could have more options for snack during the day.
This was our 4th trip to CSA & each time keeps getting better than the time before!!! What keeps us coming back is the amazing staff, the delicious food choices & of course the beach is the star of the resort which we LOVE!!! As soon as we arrived we were welcomed "home" & received champagne. The check in process was flawless & we arrived in our room very quickly! Our room was the Ocean Front Veranda & the housekeeping staff kept it spotless every day! We also love the fitness complex across the street, which is the largest in Jamaica! There are many activities every day, but you can do as little or as much as you want! Another great reason we love it here is, you literally feel like you're on a tropical island with the lush landscape all around you as you can see in the picture! We give it 10+ stars & we'll definitely be going back!
My husband and I recently stayed at Couples Swept Away to celebrate my birthday and anniversary, and we had a wonderful time. The beach is absolutely stunning—soft white sand, crystal-clear water, and plenty of space to relax without feeling crowded. The resort grounds are beautiful and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. We especially enjoyed spending our days on Seven Mile Beach and taking in the gorgeous sunsets each evening. Our beachfront verandah suite was comfortable and just steps from the beach, which made the experience even more special. Overall, Couples Swept Away provided the perfect setting for a relaxing Caribbean getaway, and we look forward to returning in the future.
Just returned from 14 day holiday to Couples Swept Away. Nice hotel but definitely not 5 star. We've stayed in several 5 star hotels and this one just didn't match up. The air conditioning unit started to leak one morning so we reported it and it was fixed. The next night at 2.30 in the morning we woke to find the unit hanging off the wall and water all over the floor. We mopped it up with towels and reported it again the next morning. A maintenance man was sent around and we were told that the person who should have fixed it before had not cleaned out the drain or fixed it back on the wall properly. We didn't receive an apology for the inconvenience which we would have expected. The majority of staff were lovely however a few let the hotel down. We returned to our room one afternoon at 4pm because it was raining to find that our room hadn't been cleaned. When the member of staff arrived to clean she appeared really put out that we were already back in our room. My husband told her that we'd sit on the balcony while she cleaned as we were certainly not sitting out in the rain. She was really miserable and we felt like an inconvenience. The staff in the Palms restaurant were polite and friendly at lunchtime however in the evening sometimes service was slow and preferential treatment was given to the American visitors. We found the food excellent and our favourite was the Lemongrass restaurant. Both the food and service was top class. The beach was absolutely amazing and the grounds were kept clean and well maintained. Evening entertainment is practically non existent and the entertainment area is in the dining room so there isn't a separate place to sit and watch anything that is going on. We would have liked to have a separate bar area just to sit and have a drink in the evening. Alot of couples seem to return to this hotel but for us it was just lacking in some areas.
Our 6th time in ~20 years - even after the recent hurricane, beach in great shape, resort excellent as always. Atrium Suite right blend of atmosphere and cost. Check in on the piano bar - Ultimate Chocolate always big fun.
Paradise!! Home away from home. Great service, great gym. Snorkeling every day!! Beautiful beach. Great and friendly staff. So helpful. Fun activities. Piano bar is so wonderful!! Best vacation anyone could take. I love this resort. You will too!!
Our review of our 1st visit Having just returned from 12 nights here, I wanted to share my honest opinion on Couples Swept Away. There are both pros and cons but I enjoy reading honest reviews so thought this may help others who have booked/thinking of booking. Hotel: 3/5 we felt there were many areas that were run down/in need of some tlc/painting/missing tiles/pool refurb needed. Everything looks slightly dated in terms of furniture. Rooms: 4/5 Atrium room are simply stunning, very Bali-like being in the trees, close to the beach/romantic especially with the veranda hammock. We moved from our first room as there was lots of limescale in bathroom and times missing from the patio. Small things like shutters not working/broken safe/plug sockets loose. Amenities in the room are good - good quality hairdryer/great shower/toilet Plenty of wardrobe space. Pools: 2/5 Very small for resort pools and completely overlooked by the restaurants which is slightly uncomfortable having people stare at you while you swim… I feel that the pools are placed in the totally position. We never used the pools once (only the lap pool over at the gym side) as the beach/ocean was just too good. We did use the exercise lap pool over at the gym and this was great, but again lots of times missing/lights broken etc. Beach 10/5 It is simply stunning. Powder soft sand, crystal clear waters. Plenty of sun loungers, sunny and shade spots. The only negative is the amount of times the local sellers try to get your attention - it’s non stop. We even turned our sun loungers away from the ocean to avoid them. But we also got talking to lots of them and found them really pleasant and after a firm ‘NO THANK YOU’ they moved along. Restaurants 2/5 This was our least favourite thing at this hotel, the food just wasn’t up to scratch. Fatty meats/ lacking of choices/repetitive. Patios: awful. 😞 chose the beef on our 2nd night after waiting 45 minutes and it arrived full of fat! Our favourite (if we had to choose) was Scotch Bonnet as they had a special every day and the food and service was great. We ate out with local vendors most days/nights. Entertainment 2/5 It’s virtually non existent which is absolutely fine if what you’re coming here for is early nights and a completely chilled holiday. I would have loved some traditional music/somewhere to meet other couples after dinner, like a cocktail bar or something. Other people saying that there is entertainment such as Karaoke/live bands etc this is not our idea of entertainment and once you’ve heard someone singing “living on a prayer” once, badly, you’ve heard it a hundred times. We did enjoy the reggae night tho, they were very good, just a shame that there was around 20-30 guests sitting in the restaurant and listening, no dancing and just no vibe. Staff 3/5 Most of the members of staff we met were an absolute delight, Kadie at the coffee shop and Adrian the gardener have the best energy, spent time getting to know us and really were lovely people. But some of them really lacked in customer skills, many of them we found, prioritising American/Canadian guests. Service 3/5 Couldn’t fault the service, apart from speed, but then EVERYTHING in Jamaica is 100 x slower than things at home (especially if you are from uk). The guys and girls at the restaurants were super friendly and there is never a dirty plate left on the table for more than 1 minute. Activities 5/5 This was one of our favourite things about this hotel, everything you get included in the price. I am very nervous of the ocean and I overcame so many fears. I paddle boarded/jet skied/paddle biked/glass bottomed boated/sunset cruised and snorkelled my way through our 12 days and I absolutely loved it. Overall 3/5 Whilst I can appreciate there are many couples that return year after to this resort and I can see why, for us, other than the beach and activities on offer, we wouldn’t return. I feel that this is a great hotel 🏨 if you are over the age of 60 and want a completely slow paced/laid back/no glitz and glam kind of holiday. We prefer a resort with a little more evening entertainment and the food let this down for us. However, We would 100% return to seven mile beach though as it is one of the best beaches I’ve ever. One love ❤️💚💛
Very nice and comfortable property with easy access to good and healthy food and relatively good WiFi connectivity. Really good value for the money. Beautiful beaches and fun activities that are included with stay. Massages and some activities do have cost to them.
A bit unclear regarding when to pick up luggage from room upon departure.
The staff was very nice. The beach is beautiful.
Only one chair on balcony.
We had a beach front room offering sea views, well supposedly. Ill come to that. Every morning at between 05:30 and 06:30 a tractor would race up and down the section of the beach nearest our room raking the sand I assume. (the rooms have no glass windows, just wooden slatted shutters and mosquito nets). Then at around 06:30/07:00 a member of staff would erect fold up tables for the craft market. By now we are wide awake (its supposed to be a relaxing holiday). Theses craft stalls were set up directly in my sight line to the "wonderful view". The restaurants were quite good but the "Feathers" a la carte offering is very 70's and on our first visit the food was cold and tasteless, they invited us back and that visit was 100% better. The wine list is poor, looks great but they never had any Rose despite offering a choice of 3. The beach bars are okay although require managing to stop the young lads working there (nearest to Patois Patio) being drunk & high playing their own music ( foul mouthed rap) at full volume and then having to shout to be heard. The watersports are included which is nice. Overall, despite a few niggly issue the place is beautiful ( not 5 star as UK visitors would expect), sunbeds are still being reserved at the crack of dawn but we always found some. I would visit here again now we are in the know.
The food in the buffet should be better. The fruit was not good at all. The desserts were tasteless. A beautiful, dance floor and no music to dance to. The room was beautiful. staff was friendly and on point.. OK that’s enough. The beach is beautiful with plenty of seating . Great water sports were included.
Just returned from Couples Swept Away Negril.. Beautiful location on 7mile Beach .. last minute booking as we were meant to go to Dubai .. we didn’t have a choice of rooms .. The only ones available were the Garden rooms which are at the back of the hotel near the road .. The room was large and spacious.. good size bathroom and a nice veranda . Yes you can hear the traffic but it wasn’t as bad as some of the reviews stated .. We slept perfectly well .. Staff very friendly and helpful .. buffet bar .. Cean ,Christy,Shadae Beach bar .. Jordan, Hakeem Coffee shop .. Kade lots of activities to do throughout the day .. also the sports complex is just a short walk over the road .. spa is also there .. They have sky sports there so you can watch Football matches and Formula one races if you choose too .. Feathers Restaurant is very good.. highly recommended.. The Buffett Restaurant is a bit hit and miss .. some days lots of choice of food.. Others not so much .. but saying that.. all the food is cooked well and nicely presented.. Desserts are the same every day.. but once again perfectly fine .. Sunbed situation on the beach is not good .. while there are lots of beds .. if you want an umbrella with your beds .. you have to get down the beach at 4:30 am !!! Beds and brollys around the pools are easier to get .. The hotel runs a coach to Ricks bar .. well worth a visit .. you get around two and a half hours there .. before they pick you up .. but obviously if you got a taxi there yourself you can stay as long as you wish .. Would I go back .. yes I would ..
We had a lovely stay for our 25th wedding anniversary and it was the best holiday we have had in a while . We were due to go back to the Maldives for our big anniversary but unfortunately due to the Middle East we were unable to fly so had to change our destination. Jamaica was wonderful and I completely fell in love straight away . The beach is stunning , I still Got to see my turquoise ocean. We had the perfect room opposite the jacuzzi in the gardens with a peak of the beach and loved it , we have already said whilst there we would come back and ask for the same room . Food was lovely and tried everything . The great thing about these resorts are the extra details , premium drinks, room service, flag service , the staff are really attentive, not to mention the trips included these were outstanding especially the catamaran trip it was so romantic which tied in with why we were away in the first place . The little touches included mean so much I’ve never been anywhere else that offer , trips, snorkelling, mini bar with premium drinks top ups, maid service every day plus turn down, breakfast in your room if on a trip, even scuba diving and so much more. We need to return as didn’t get to do the other activities such as yoga or cooking class , golf and again so much more as we were just so happy with everything and relaxed . We got to see our ocean friends of which we may have not in the Maldives , a resident ray, turtle, starfish, wild dolphins which made our anniversary even more special we even saw a rainbow so for us Jamaica was meant to be . Thank you for a wonderful holiday we will return xx
Everything was great the food and booze. Adrea Bruce was great at helping us get everything set up before arrival. We stayed on the 3rd floor was a little bit of a hike at the end of the, but the view was amazing. Would be great if there was jerk chicken on the buffet.
This was the most beautiful trip we have ever taken. The resort is absolutely amazing and the location is perfect: direct access to the sea, the stunning white beach of Negril, excellent beach facilities, beautiful rooms, great food, and fantastic entertainment. At first, the price may seem expensive, but it is absolutely worth it because the resort offers an incredible all-inclusive experience. Food, international alcohol and drinks, and especially entertainment and sports activities are all included, making the overall value exceptional. We also want to give a very special mention to Andrea Bruce at the reception desk. She helped us enormously during our stay. Since the resort is mainly frequented by English-speaking guests from the United States, and Canada, the local Jamaican staff naturally speak English very quickly and fluently. Even though we speak English regularly, as non-native speakers we sometimes had some difficulties. Andrea was incredibly kind, patient, welcoming, and always available to help us. We are truly grateful to her for making our stay even more enjoyable. We will definitely return!
Our stay at the Couple’s Swept Away Negril couldn’t have been any better! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed and taken care of. The resort is absolutely beautiful, with one of the best beaches we’ve ever seen—white sand, crystal-clear water, and the most relaxing atmosphere, what feels like right in the jungle. Not to mention the unforgettable sunsets on the beach each day. We loved the design and how authentically Jamaican the hotel was. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and just steps from the beach. We loved how peaceful the entire property felt and also super safe. The food was excellent with plenty of variety, and every restaurant delivered great service and delicious meals (we loved the Friday night Jamaican night at the Palms the best). The cocktails were also perfect with specials everyday by the beach and always fresh and perfectly made. The entertainment, water sports, and activities gave us so much to do everyday, we didn’t need to leave. But there was also so much space to just relax and enjoy each other’s company. The active centre is really amazing, lots of activities and spa facilities on offer. The gym is indoor/ outdoor and is truly perfect, it is for sure the best gym I have ever seen! We used this every morning. What really made this trip special was the warmth and friendliness of the staff, specifically Ashanti, Aaliyah, Marky and Shania. They went above and beyond to make our holiday so memorable. If you’re looking for a romantic, stress-free Caribbean getaway, Couples Swept Away is definitely the place. We can’t wait to return!
A true Gem....from the Couples Lounge at the airport where you could use the private washrooms & enjoy a complimentary refreshment / pre-packaged snack (chips/nuts) before making your way to the transportation van, to welcoming arrival and efficient check in at the resort. Our week at Couples Swept Away (CSA) truly left us with wanting nothing more than - well.....more time with the extremely friendly and genuinely happy CSA team & of course more time to enjoy the beautiful property! - With well maintained & manicured grounds - the property was clean, lush, well lit in the evenings, easily "walkable" - and mobility friendly. Each building is equipped (rear of building) with stocked ice cooler & filtered water....very convenient to fill reusable water bottles left in guest rooms for guests to use while staying at CSA and take home when leaving. Dinner reservations were made with ease, we enjoyed dinner at both Feathers & Lemon Grass (reservations required) once during our stay, the other evenings we were happy to experience the entertainment & delicious food the buffet & Patois Patio. **men must have long pants and collared shoes to dine at Feathers** Lunch options - The Palms (buffet), Sea Grape Cafe & Cabana Grill - not one bad meal or poor service ever experienced during our stay. The resort has options for everyone.....we heard one of the chefs (during lunch at Cabana Grill) happily working with a guest to ensure the guests gluten free dietary restrictions were met. Beach is stunning....it is cleared each morning, crystal clear/calm warm water.....lots of lounge chairs & shade offered - 9 or more palapas were added during our stay *remembering that this island was devastated by hurricane Melissa - and it takes time to rebuild*. You can safely walk the beach for miles. Rooms - excellent! beds so comfortable, buildings are quiet - we were on lower level with neighbors on both sides/above & never heard furniture moving or footsteps above...housekeeping kept our room neat & tidy daily, thank you for that! Morning room service for coffee/tea & continental style options available - we ordered fresh fruit, coffee & tea to our room each morning, pick your time, menu items & enjoy the treats in the basket that arrives to your door or porch. Multiple returning guests at this resort.....which speaks volumes & I can promise - we too will be returning! Michelle @ front office, Ashley & Kadie @ The coffee Cafe, Ashely @ Patois Patio and "Joy" **at Cabana Grill (you know who you are:) - you each deserve an honorable mention for your smiles & exceptional service....thank you - keep being AMAZING!! Brian & Sandra S
Everything was included and easy to access. Didn’t have to take a bus to do any activities. Their were plenty of chairs and cushions for everyone.
Staying at the couples resort we found staff very accommodating to all our needs. The beach was beautiful which is very important to us . There was however a lack of choice for supper experiences . Having a buffet, one restaurant with two others that need reservations and they were each closed one night of the week.At other resorts when a restaurant was closed the space was utilized for another restaurant to give guests more options. The food however was excellent at all venues.
I have been dreaming of coming to Couples Swept Away since it opened…so my expectations were high…especially considering the price we paid. My husband and I have been to 5 star All-Inclusive resorts in Mexico, Dominican Republic and Cuba…so I will compare this resort to our previous experiences. For reference, Cayo Coco Cuba was the cheapest vacation and Couples Swept Away was the most expensive resort. We are in our late 40s. Accommodations - 8/10 - My husband and I usually stay in a room with a tub for 2 on the patio or balcony - which really adds to the room experience…but Couples Swept Away doesn’t have that amenity. But honestly, we didn’t miss it. Our top floor Garden Verandah Suite was charming, authentic and airy. We LOVED the wooden shutters and vaulted wood ceiling . Our corner room #2201 had an amazing treehouse feel….it didn’t overlook any other hotel rooms so it felt incredibly private with lush tropical views. However, it was not perfect. It is loud in this room category. The frogs at night were almost deafening. But somehow we managed to fall asleep to the chirping….but you may want to bring earplugs just in case you can’t sleep. However, the motorcycle noise at night will wake you up and scare the crap out of you! The shower spitting water all over the floor also needs to be fixed…everyone complains about it so it is obviously a problem that management refuses to address. Just an annoyance and an inconvenience. But overall, we loved our room! However, we lucked out with a corner room on the top floor of a 2 story building (less stairs than the 3 story building and more privacy than the first floor walkout rooms…which a lot of guests love). It really depends what you want from a room. Some of the Garden Verandah Suites might have less road noise than others based on their location…just so you know. We were going to upgrade immediately if we weren’t happy with our room and we chose to stay. Grounds/Property - 10/10 - This resort is GORGEOUS. It is just as pretty as the previous resorts that we stayed at in Punta Cana and the Mayan Riviera. Lush gardens. Winding paths. Tropical flowers. I love an old established resort with mature trees and lots of greenery. This resort is STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL. Singing Anthony the gardener also made us smile everyday which was a bonus! Beach - 10/10 - soft sand - blue water and beautiful sunsets. Negril beach is beautiful to say the least. Again, the sunsets are breathtakingly gorgeous. Ocean Swimming - 10/10 - Soft white sandy bottom with very few hazards to watch out for. No water shoes are necessary but you still have to watch what you’re stepping on as there are random chunks of coral and the occasional critter. We saw lots of starfish and stingrays right in front of the resort…so that was exciting. The water was warm and relatively calm in the morning and had gentle waves in the afternoon. It was wonderful! Beach Experience - 8/10 - overall we had a great beach experience. We spent more time at this beach than any other resort because it is BEAUTIFUL and tropical with all the palm trees (something that Cuba does not have). We never went into the pools….which says a lot. HOWEVER….management needs to listen up - because the beach area has SOO MUCH POTENTIAL!!! First of all….where are the Bali beds?! A couples resort with no beach beds for 2 is insane to me! It’s the epitome of romance! The resort that we went to in Cuba cost 1/3 the price of Couples and they had endless beach beds AND beach service. There were employees in Cuba whose job it was to help you find a beach chair or bed and then proceeded to DUST off the Sand, spread your towel out and go get you a drink…all day long. This service is non-existent at Couples. Couples advertises red flag service. I call BS on that one. On our last day we finally saw one red flag in a tree….was it the infamous red flag service? I have no idea because no staff member offered me a flag or mentioned the service. Such a disappointment from a girl who has been dreaming of coming to this place since it first opened. Expectations were definitely NOT met. You can do better Couples! Also, the workers need to be out on that beach CLEANING and TIDYING up the chairs BEFORE the guests come out in the morning. Honestly, it was DISGUSTING. Towels and dishes and garbage everywhere all along the Couples Swept Away beach every morning. Management should be ashamed of themselves. Also, management needs to have designated smoking sections marked with signage. Such a simple solution to solve the problem for nonsmokers and smokers alike. We can all coexist in paradise without nonsmoking guests being annoyed by the smoke and the smokers not having to explain that the nonsmokers are indeed sitting in the (unmarked) smoking sections. This should be enforced by the staff not the guests. We all just need guidance from management with a simple sign. And if Couples wants to take it to the next level of luxury…replace all the beach furniture with quality chairs, beds and cushions. Management just needs to take a walk down the beach to a few of the neighbouring resorts who have matching furniture and colourful matching accessories. Like I said - the potential is there. As for the beach solicitors/locals selling their goods and services ….hey - this is their country with their own way of making a living. I believe that we as guests in their country need to assimilate to their culture. Respect and politeness and a firm “no” is all that is necessary if you are not interested in what they are selling. And if that doesn’t work, a quick nod to security and they will help move the seller along. Was it annoying at times? Yes but it didn’t ruin our vacation. Not all Jamaicans are like this…just like how not all Canadians are loud drunks. Overall we enjoyed our interactions with the locals and met more residences than any other country we have visited. Food - 7/10 - If we could have eaten at Lemongrass and Feathers more often during our week stay, we would have rated them a 9/10. The buffet was good but very small. The fish tacos on the beach were good and we also enjoyed the jerk chicken at Scotch Bonnet. However, the reservation system for the 2 reservation only restaurants was AWFUL! Worse than budget friendly Cuba. In Cuba, we checked in and the staff had already pre booked all our dinner reservations for us. If we wanted to change to a different time we just had to ask. Seamless and perfect. In the Dominican Republic, our butler booked all our reservations for us after we told him which restaurants we wanted to go to. No problem. In Mexico, we were able to book every night at the al a cart restaurants the day we checked in. Done. No stress. Not at Couples Swept Away. We stayed 7 nights and we were only able to get into Lemongrass ONCE and Feathers ONCE. The worst experience out of all our resort experiences. Pretend that you are at a budget all inclusive - now get in line at Customer Service…or call and PRAY that you get to enjoy at least 1 reservation during your entire stay. And you don’t do this just once…you have to go back because you can’t book more than a few days in advance. Come on Couples! Do better! At this price point more restaurant options need to be available to EVERYONE not just returning guests. I give Couples restaurant reservation system a ZERO out of 10. On a positive note - we loved having entertainment playing during dinner at the buffet…well, the band/singers anyway. Shows were hard to watch when you are eating and getting up to the buffet. Live music performers during dinner is lovely…although sometimes loud at times. Just fix the restaurant reservation system…it’s awful. Pools - 4/10 - I knew when I booked CSA that the pools were not great. In my opinion, what makes a good pool is a tropical, freeform shape with lots of room to spread out and a swim up bar. We didn’t go into the pools at all because they were small overall…with the swim up bar pool being extra small…which was disappointing. They are also overlooked by the restaurants which kinda makes it an uncomfortable experience if you don’t want to be on display and watched by people eating…if that makes sense. However it was nice that the hot tubs were open all the time…although they are also overlooked…so not much privacy for intimate couple time. Service - 8/10 - The service that the workers are instructed to give is good. They don’t go above and beyond but it’s good. However there are more resting “grumpy” faces here than at any other resort that we’ve been to. These employees should be placed at the back of the house if they can’t fake a smile for the paying guests. Again, I blame management for not training these employees for their service roles….and then making sure that the employees are always making guests feel good about being there. When you can’t even smile at the friendly guests, you should not be working at the front of the house. Included Activities - 10/10 - this is where the resort shines….perfect….no constructive criticism needed. Okay…the fitness facilities are not air conditioned…someone made a very bad decision at the planning stage and no one with common sense said “That’s stupid.” Now they are stuck with this huge mistake. Other notes.. Lack of air conditioning in the restaurants and common areas sucked. My husband was hot and uncomfortable everywhere he went. I signed up for their Loyalty Rewards Program after I booked the resort. This was a waste of time because they didn’t give us any of the alcohol that we requested during pre-check-in. We had to re-request it after we got to our room and we received it the next day. No booze, except beer, in the room for 24 hours. Nothing is done for you during special occasions. I celebrated my birthday here and receive nothing…if that’s important to you. It wasn’t a big deal for me…just unusual for a 5 star resort. Final thoughts…I am soo glad that my husband and I finally made it to a Couples resort. The rooms, resort grounds and beautiful ocean water were exactly like we imagined. We went there to spend a romantic vacation together on the beach…relaxing and enjoying the ocean. However, the couples vibe that we were expecting was not there. It often felt like spring break with loud groups of friends…as opposed to the intimate couples in love experience I was expecting. We would not return because we have been to better adults only all inclusive resorts that know how to spoil their guests and make them feel special - for a MUCH LOWER PRICE POINT. I hope this review helps!
Ok, it’s not my intention to criticise the hotel resort on a personal level as it is what it is, horses for courses as they say. This is more of a damming review of our tour operator Tui in promoting this resort as a 5* or 5T holiday for UK travellers. I know it’s conjecture and personal opinion but I wish people would have been totally honest in writing previous reviews and I could have saved ourselves a lot of money. So, if you’re from the UK and thinking of booking this resort read on…. I cannot describe how bad for a British mature couple this hotel is. Firstly, I don’t know what the official criteria is for grading hotels but I’ve stayed in plenty around the world and at best, this is no more than 3*. It is an alternative Cancun for American/Canadian guests who make up roughly 95% of clientele. Again not a personal slur as we spoke to quite a few and whom were very nice and chatty, but the majority are big, loud and gregarious…I’ll clarify. Make no mistake, this is a long and tiring trip from the UK. A 9.5 hour flight into Montego Bay (for Tui) and as the promo says, there are no Tui reps at hand so stumble around until you come across the ‘Couples’ resort waiting area where your details will be taken and a nice cold drink offered. Our 20 min wait for transport slowly morphed into 40 minutes, waiting for other guests to arrive and it was then onto a small mini bus. If you have hand luggage like a small case then consider asking the driver to put it in with your luggage as other than on your lap, there’s no place inside the mini bus to put it…and it’s a long transfer! It’s over 2 hours and an eye opener. Sadly, Jamaica is a poor country and struggling more so after the devastating hurricane of 2025. The journey to Negril is long, uncomfortable and sad. Our eventual arrival at the resort was promising with a nice glass of champagne (it’s not, it’s Prosecco but let’s not get too picky). The checking in procedure is exactly what you don’t want after being up and about for 18 hours. You’ll need, your passports (understandably), personal emails, telephone, UK address, credit card and exact return flight details, form filling and be given your room key bracelet which is actually a very good idea. You’ll also be given a head full of information that at this stage makes absolutely no sense whatsoever about restaurants, bookings and activities etc. Then it’s off to your room you go. Your luggage gets a buggy but it’s Shanks’s Pony for you. The resort is roughly a North - South orientation with reception being at the north end. We were in a Beachfront verandah room 3324 at the southern end. So, if you’re still daft enough to pay and go, opt for a Beachfront Verandah Suite with Balcony. The view, beach and sea are lovely. Our room was very comfortable indeed. Spacious, the bed was comfy, pillows and bedding lovely and a great balcony but hang on… the decor is tired, the bathroom wasn’t finished well and had some strange pebble stone effect flooring in the shower that over time is very difficult to clean and was therefore grubby. It has also been laid poorly with insufficient drop so when you have a shower the water floods the bathroom floor and we had to create little towel dams to stop this happening. Soaking towels every day. The room air conditioning is effective and quiet but, the condensate on ours ran down the inside of the room wall and onto the bedroom floor (another towel). Now the bad bits….Tui sell this holiday as a relaxing, couples only luxury resort with 7 restaurants 8 bars etc. Poetic license or misleading advertising? It has 4 restaurants; 2 of which are the large municipal eating halls you would expect and get on your weekend away in Benidorm the other 2 are the very nice Lemongrass restaurant and the flagship Feather’s restaurant (more to come on these). The other 3 so called restaurants are snack or coffee bars. Never are there more than 3 open at the same time. Do not expect 8 bars. They’ve included beach bars and bars attached or associated with the restaurants. There is only one dedicated bar per se and that’s the one colloquially known as the Piano Bar that stays open after 10. ‘Sounds nice’ you say? It’s not, we tried to get in on two occasions but there’s very limited seating and it is no more than an American Karaoke bar…it was chaos, it reminded me of a bad Blink 182 concert. As I’ve already alluded to, this place is perfectly located and an ideal alternative to Cancun for American/Canadian guests the majority of whom are classed as ‘Returning Guests’ and take priority on the hotel’s ridiculous restaurant booking system. We arrived on the Wednesday and it wasn’t until the following Monday we were able to get into one of the 2 restaurants that you need to book (Lemongrass or Feathers) and that was because we kicked and screamed! Approximately 1200 guests potentially wanting to book maybe 60 covers. My wife tried to book a reservation prior to us arriving through Tui and the hotel but was told, without a room number it wasn’t possible…wait for it, it now transpires, if you’re a returning guest you can. We opted for and thought we were privileged to get into the special, flagship gourmet restaurant Feathers. A chance to dress up perhaps as it does have a dress code and a large chunk of my baggage allowance had been taken up with long trousers, shoes and shirts etc. The table was booked for 8.30 so, with another couple we thought we’d go for 7.30 drinks beforehand at the Patrois bar which is attached to the large Patrois eating venue (I’m reluctant to call it a restaurant). It was all unexpectedly closed. The ‘Piano’ bar doesn’t open until later so the other option would have been a hot, humid 10 walk to the bar attached to the Palms buffet ‘restaurant’ at the north end. Not a popular option for the ladies in high heels but we had an hour to kill. I thought I’d pop into Feathers to say we might be a few minutes late as we were going to the other place for a drink and by the time we’d walked back it might be just after 8.30. The lady at the door was nice and said we could come in and just sit at restaurant bar (who knew) or sit at our table now. We opted to sit at the bar and stick to the plan or so we tried. We kept being asked by several different staff if we’d like to sit at our table as it was ready. We felt so pressured we reluctantly gave in and sat down about 40 mins early. Now, the Feather’s restaurant is advertised as gourmet with an elegant dress code. Credit to the staff having to turn away difficult customers turning up in shorts and T-shirts but men can still get in wearing polo type shirts and ladies pretty much anything. The place was like Denny’s Diner on a Friday night. Tables of American/Canadians who had clearly been drinking all day and you couldn’t hear yourself think. The food was at best, ok. Veg was cold and raw and my wife found a large piece of string in her food. It was all marginally better than the other eating places except, Lemongrass where we found the food very nice but like everywhere else, repetitive. We were never even asked if we’d like wine, we had to ask and then got the usual ‘white, rose, merlot or cabinet sav. In a glass, no wine list, no option. This was the same all over the resort. It was shocking. The other places to eat are too bad to even start to describe, maybe not if you’ve not paid a lot but if you’re from the UK for 2 weeks you have. An American I spoke to couldn’t believe how much we’d paid. We used to laugh to ourselves when we went to the Patois Patio Mediterranean à la carte restaurant as for the 2 weeks, Fish of the Day was always Red Snapper and a change of menu was a different soup or something different in the potato. On the last night, the menu did actually change but all 4 of our meals were totally wrong and when it did arrive, my wife’s grilled cheese was in actual fact normal feta and my meal lacked the mixed greens. We didn’t say anything because after 2 hours waiting we just wanted to get out of there. This is an All Inclusive resort which means you can drink as much as you want or can all day and believe me some people do. It’s a very popular venue for weddings, nice for them but possibly not for you. If you’re expecting couples then think 50 guests from the US attending a wedding where everyone pretty much knows each other and for a week it’s one huge party. I’m talking loud, all day drinking, smoking in swimming pools and restaurants , their own music playing on the beach, swearing and generally selfish drunken behaviour in the evenings. This is no exaggeration and it’s on going, we may have had 2 days when it was relatively relaxed. I’ve been to Ayia Napa in Cyprus, Benidorm and Cleethorpes and it’s not too dissimilar. The beach is lovely, there are plenty of sun beds but very limited shade. The hotel has a few parasols around the pool areas and maybe 10 cabana type sun shades along the beach. Therefore, securing sun beds in the shade starts every day at 4-30 to 5am. The earliest we ventured out was 6.15am and every bed under the shade was reserved with towels. For 2 weeks it was a case of finding a tree or bush and anticipating the moving shade around it. Synonymous with Jamaica, cannabis (marijuana) is rife and the air is full of the smell of it. Despite it actually being illegal (believe it or not) the locals constantly walk up and down the beach trying to sell you some, some of the hotel staff are also branching out and selling the stuff. A polite no is all that’s needed and they move on. The annoying venders are the musicians (of varying abilities) singing or playing in front of you and waiting for their money. Strangely enough, walk up the beach to the 2 very nice hotels up there and you’ll realise the venders have honed their trade and know who’s going to pay them and it’s not the Sandals guests. We brought our disapproval to both Tui and senior hotel management early on and to the credit of the hotel they listened and tried to make things better for us including a very nice gesture for my wife’s 60th birthday. However, as I said at the start, it is what it is and whilst it’s still receiving returning American/Canadian guests with lower expectations it’ll not change. I would like to ask Tui, apart from the flights (obviously) what did we actually get for approximately £10,000? The resort should be re-name ‘Couple Stay Away’.
We stayed for a week at this lovely resort as part of a large wedding party. In general we found the resort to be very clean with staff working throughout the day to maintain this with a smile and always a hello. The staff we met were all outstanding…. Every single one ensured we enjoyed our holiday. Miss Talibud in the breakfast service was simply delightful and we shall always remember her bright smile and warm welcome. She is a superstar. During our stay I injured my foot in an accident (not anything to do with the hotel… my husband did it) and the nurse was fabulous and took care of me even though it was midnight. She checked in with me the rest of our stay after a rather expensive visit to the local clinic. Our room was close to reception and the main road. Yes we did hear vehicles occasionally but it was not an issue. The frogs chorus at night lulled us to sleep. The mini bar was filled at request and a simple morning breakfast was delicious. The food was simple but delicious in the buffet… it was repetitive at times. The feathers and lemongrass were fabulous evenings and we enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service. The beach was stunning and we did find a lounger very early in the morning and this was fine for us. The vendors were up and down throughout the day and no worse than Mexico or the Dominican Republic. Security were keen to ensure that they were not a nuisance. A small smile and no thanks once was enough to be left alone. We did have a couple of experiences with other guests who were extremely loud who over powered the whole restaurant and areas on the beach front. They were drunk and obnoxious to be honest. These are the people who were disrespectful of others and the resort. The staff found it difficult to contain these guests at times and I felt embarrassed for them. We have visited many hotels around the world and yes this was a rather expensive week. Yes there were things that could be improved. But my goodness we had a blast and loved every minute.
We traveled to Couples Swept Away for nine days in April. Our room was an Ocean Verandah Suite and was well worth the money. I was concerned about the condition of the resort before we left home. The management and staff have worked really hard to make things as they were before the Hurricane We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect nine days. The weather was sunny and warm, the beach a beautiful shade of blue, and both food and entertainment were great. Our room was cleaned daily and there was turn down service in the evenings. The little bathroom huts on the beach were also very clean. I would walk the resort path in the early morning, and I would see lots of staff out cleaning the different areas. We did have a few issues with getting reservations at both the Lemon Grass and Feathers. But by the end of the week, we were able to acquire those reservations. Our favorite by far was the Lemon Grass. We attended the Repeat Dinner which was hosted by the resort. As usual we thought food was outstanding and we got a chance to talk to a few of the managers. My husband was curious about the number of different palms on the resort and if there were any plans for additional palapas. He was told more palapas were planned and there were 79 species of palms. Although the resort looks great with the natural look, I think most folks would welcome an area that would provide some umbrellas or palapas for shade. We walked down to the Hi Lo store which was close to the resort. I bought a few Red Stripe beers in their new flavors, lemon and mango. I think both flavors would be a great addition to the bars on the resort. I also purchased Rum Cream and Banana Chips to take home. Both purchases were much cheaper at Hi Lo than at the airport. Be warned that all prices are in Jamaican currency, so a bit of math is involved to figure out your price. We’ve been to Couples Swept Away many times. As always, the trip was a success, and I can honestly say without hesitation that the beach is probably the prettiest I’ve ever seen.
We just got back from a wonderful stay, wedding, and honeymoon. We got married there and everything was perfect! Food was great no matter where we went on property. It was just the two of us so our wedding on the beach was intimate and perfect. The all inclusive activities included snorkeling, water sports, swimming in a cave, among many other activities. I gave it a 4 out of a 5 because the vendors on the beach bother you nonstop , every time you look at them or walk by them .
Good buffet, great service, excellent beach
Not enough shade on a beach, just a few palapa on the beach. To get palapa need to get up at 4:30 am.
Here goes my honest opinion of the holiday so far. We are at present on day 5 of a 12 day holiday at Couples Swept Away. This was booked very last minute as our planned Maldives holiday was cancelled due to the Middle East tensions. We are very well travelled and have had the privilege of experiencing some high class 5* resorts/hotels around the world as well as the usual 5* all inclusive resorts. Unfortunately this resort does not fall into this 5*category. However the price tag of around £10k for 13 nights for two people would indicate that we should be getting at least some 5* treatment. Far from it. I’ll start with the positives…. Beach- this is the highlight of the resort and is beautiful. Soft sand and lovely blue, inviting sea. Perfectly calm for swimming and plenty of room to find a space in the sun or shade- be aware, you will need to get up before 6am to grab the ‘best’ beds- something that is very annoying and you shouldn’t need to do, but it seems the only way as everyone else has already got up at the crack of dawn to put their towels down! Sports complex open from 6am, good 25m lap pool, numerous tennis courts, squash, well equipped outdoor gym, smoothie bar and fantastic yoga with Ria. It seems somewhat underused but is an asset to the hotel and if you’re into keeping fit there are numerous classes that you can join in with. Downside, is the wellness bar which could be more welcoming and a happy place to be. Things that could be improved… Rooms- granted that because we booked very late we had no choice with the room category and were given an atrium room. These are very basic, rustic and basic. No TV, which didn’t really bother us but when it rains often in the afternoon it would be useful to have one or at least have a Bluetooth music speaker to use! The rooms could also do with a thorough good clean, especially outside on the approach- the housekeeping is good each night with a turn down service and in the day a novelty towel animal on the bed! but otherwise it’s somewhat superficial- just doing the towels/ bed- not thoroughly cleaning…there is a coffee machine but no milk. Water is replenished just one bottle daily. Very limited mini bar selection and no snacks or nibbles at all…. Not 5* and no attention to the little details - that’s what counts to the paying customer. Tip- ask for a room away from the road- the noise is awful and not what you want from your 5* relaxing holiday resort!! Thankfully, we complained and were able to change to a different room nearer to the beach away from the noise. Food The buffet is ok. Just ok. Very ‘sameish’ each day with a small variety, not great when you are here for 13 days and the other restaurant is very limited but made to order breakfasts. Lemongrass, one of the speciality restaurants, it was ok- really nothing special and we were both disappointed in the quality of the food. Feathers - nice food, nice welcoming service. So if they can do the welcoming service why can’t the rest? Culture and consistency is key to show your guests you are valued. Not what we are feeling here at the resort overall. Sometimes you get a smile and a welcoming comment, sometimes it feels forced after you’ve already tried your best to be positive and welcoming first! Drink There are a couple of beach bars, handy for a quick drink during the day. Overall, the drinks are limited (there is only red stripe lager, no other varieties of beers or lagers!), couple of house white wines and the red wine- not good at all. The Martini bar is good addition - although placed in a strange position- on the top floor of the buffet- no outlook other than the lemongrass restaurant. This would be much better placed so that you could view the glorious sunsets….the view is basically non existent from where it is. Could you swap the area around so that Lemongrass is nearer the kitchen and the Martini bar has the outlook over the pool? Otherwise, there is a lack of a ‘isn’t this nice sat here in the evening’ type bar or place to sit and while away the early evening before dinner. Entertainment This has been ok, but just ok, no real ambience anywhere. There was a great steel drum band last night which had us all clapping and singing. Then nothing. But otherwise, not much going on and there is nowhere to just go and sit in a nice comfy seat watching the sunset and have a drink before dinner. Staff. Now this is where we have been somewhat disappointed. I did take the time to read some of the reviews before we came and many pointed towards the staff being smiley, helpful and what sets this resort apart from others on this beach… however again, we have not seen this consistently. The vast majority of staff give the impression that this is just a job… few are smiley and few seem to take respect or pride in their work… towels are left over night at the pool and on the beach beds, glasses are not collected consistently, often still there in the morning, rubbish stepped over by staff rather than picked up or cleared away, still there days later. Walking past in the day, no acknowledgement as they are on their phones, plates of last nights food still littering the beach at 9.30am the next day…. not what we have come to expect from a 5* hotel/resort. This morning I came out of the room to smashed glass all over the walkway, which was still there later after I’d informed a staff member. Tissues, bottle tops, cigarette butt’s ,used ear buds, all in the flora and fauna and outside the entrance to your rooms 🤦🏼♀️- so not 5*. We will of course take advantage of the lovely Caribbean sunshine and wonderful beach for the remainder of our holiday, whilst trying not to be bitterly disappointed every day. We have been to the Caribbean 4 times previously but never to Jamaica… I’m not sure if we have just chosen the wrong hotel here but our impression so far is that we won’t be returning in the future. There are some things the hotel could very easily do to make a real difference ….
This place says no tipping, ha! It seemed almost everyone was looking for our tips. They act as if they are your best friend, but as you know, when you leave, they forget about you. I tipped a bit the first half of my stay, then when I realized the way the staff played you for tips it was annoying. The food was average, plenty of it, but average. The chairs on the beach, well, as usual, at 9AM 80% of the chairs had towels on them with hardly anyone around. Good luck finding your way around, they need more signs to find amenities and your room! The water and beach was great, they have a great fitness area. I am not sure I would go back.
We have just returned from a 2 week surprise birthday holiday for my wife and joined by some friends , for what was our first time visiting Jamaica and celebrating at the Couples Swept Away was an absolute wonderful time !!! The transfer was just shy of 2 hours due to heavy traffic through the centre of Montego Bay and the coastal road was horrendous due to the huge pot holes ! but it is definitely worth it to arrive at this just breathtaking location on the Negril beach ! Our room was spacious and clean with a large balcony and was very well maintained by the housekeeping staff !. The birds at night took some getting used to , but after a few nights and some rum cocktails you get used to them. This was the first holiday we have been on where we haven't even been in the pools ! ,we just spent everyday on the glorious beach and with sun loungers not to far from the Bamboo Bar , where Hakeem and Shaniek kept us entertained everyday. The banter and fun and games we shared with them was so much fun and they truly do deserve a special mention for making our holiday a wonderful memory through there commitment in encouraging all holiday makers to relax and have fun !!!. Thank you and much love to them both ! And to all the staff in general who were just lovely and sincerely helpful ! Really no complaints at all and thank you CSA !!! We loved it and will return one day for sure.
First Time Visit to CSA Arrival Arrived late afternoon at Montego Bay Airport and got through quickly. After collecting our luggage, we found the Couples Lounge easily and were checked in straight away. We waited around 10 minutes before boarding the coach. The transfer took about 1 hour 40 minutes, with AC and a friendly driver who shared light‑hearted info along the way. Room – Ocean Veranda Suite (Block 15, 1st Floor – 3209) Our room was perfectly located between the beach and the road. One flight of stairs gave us privacy and stunning sea views and sunsets. Well equipped: balcony, mini bar, ironing board, umbrella (for shade/showers!), hair dryer, TV, walk‑in shower and a hot drinks machine. The bed was huge and comfortable with a variety of pillows, the aircon excellent, and Wi‑Fi was strong everywhere — even on the beach, although we didn’t use it for business purposes. Note: I took with me my own high powered hair dryer from uk but it wouldn’t work with the Jamaican power sockets, but the one provided was fine. They provide drinks bottles in your room and which you can keep. They can be filled up at water and ice stations conveniently positioned around the resort. The water and ice are drinkable and it was nice not to see one use plastic bottles. Beach & Atmosphere The beach is stunning: golden sand, spotless with warm shallow sea. Lounger reserving does happen, but we always found loungers in decent positions on way to breakfast (between 8am and 8.30am) even though peak season. By 9–10am beds were still available, though not in the best positions. All Palapas were taken very early (usually by the same couples, who not only took the palapas daily but would also take two loungers, two chairs and two tables - for one couple!!) The resort do ask people by leaflet not to reserve and leave beds for long periods. Vendors were respectful and easy to ignore if you didn’t want to engage. Buskers added to the relaxed beach vibe and we liked to tip them. Tree frogs at night were loud but magical. Resort cats were friendly — we loved seeing them and giving them treats on the way back. Sports & Activities The sports complex across the road was excellent with good gym equipment The lap pool was quiet and it was lovely to swim outside, whilst trying to avoid the odd palm leaf, frog or insect 😊 There was a pool table which we used daily when the sun was hot around midday. There were great fresh health shots – Pineapple and ginger being our favourite. Kayaking was fun and didn’t need booking The glass‑bottom boat, bookable one day in advance, couldn’t moor over the reef on the day we booked, due to choppy water, so it toured around Bloody Bay which was still enjoyable. The free snorkelling trip was a highlight — calm guidance, colourful fish, sea cucumbers, urchins and even a stingray. We skipped the catamaran as we thought it would be livelier than we prefer. Food & Restaurants/Bars Two non‑bookable restaurants (Palms buffet and Patois Patio) offered good quality food and choice. It probably didn’t have quite the range of food we have had at some other AI’s we’ve stayed in, but we found different things to eat over the 10 days and really enjoyed the breakfasts. In the evening the entertainment would start in Palms around 7.45pm and so people would stay following their meal. Tip: check the Egg Station area at dinner — occasionally extra dishes appear there. The two bookable restaurants were outstanding. We secured Lemongrass for my 60th birthday and Feathers for my partner’s birthday - as it wasn’t open on my 60th. It was Lobster Night and superb. You have to book the bookable restaurants 3 days before you want them and cannot rebook until you’ve been. We managed one more visit to Lemongrass before the end of our 10 days visit. For lunch, Scotch Bonnet and Sea Grapes were great — especially the sushi at Sea Grapes. Bars at both restaurants good but could do with cocktail menus as we would have liked to sample some other cocktails we hadn’t had before, and had no idea what to ask for. Martini bar good and tried a couple of different types. Other Services Two Gifts shops – one larger and both well stocked Business Computers above Reception which we used to print out some documents Staff – The Heart of CSA The staff made this holiday exceptional. Concierge arranged our birthday dinners and sent champagne. Bar staff remembered our drinks. Restaurant staff went out of their way to seat us where we preferred. Housekeeping, gardening and sports staff were consistently warm, hardworking and genuine ensuring everything from the room and towels, gardens and beach were spotless whilst being warm and polite. Special thanks to O’Shane (bar) who ensured my love of Pina Colada’s was sated and Christiana (Patois Restaurants) who helped us on our first day Overall We have previously stayed in (and not enjoyed) some polished, high‑end AI resorts where guests can be sometimes be rude, entitled and glued to Instagram. CSA is the opposite — relaxed, authentic, and full of heart. In our experience, if you don’t like it here, the issue isn’t CSA.
2nd time back, and while we were there, booked our 3rd visit for 2027. We don't go to this resort for is amazing food selection (although the food is pretty good overall) but for the fabulous beach, great water sports and friendly staff. Not sure why anyone would want a drink delivered to them on the beach...personally I love taking a walk and getting my own drink! Let's face it, 80% of us need the exercise! We were nice to everyone and were treated very well. Met some great guests who have been coming back for years. I can totally see why. My only minor criticism is that the nightly entertainment is mediocre...with the exception of Exodus, the house band, and the steel drum group. Both groups are super talented. I love dancing, but couldn't get into the music played at the disco. Wish there was a little more variety there...and more fitting for the demographic of the majority of guests (over 50).
Food less than stellar, service ok, no beach drink flag service, here an entire week before our room cleaned, best food was off resort where locals eat. The best part of the resort was our new "Family" member/staff young man who has been beyond amazing from day one
Incredible activities, beautiful engagement with Staff, delicious food. And you can’t beat the beach.
We've visited this resort many times as the beach is one of the best in the Caribbean and the value for all you get is really hard to beat. The people who work there really make the resort a special place for us and we will be back. This review is going to center on a few areas I think the resort can greatly improve upon. First, they offer a pre check-in portal through their Romance Rewards program. We've utilized this before and every time, including on this trip, none of the information translates to the resort upon arrival. As repeat guests, we've earned points and were entitled to gifts for this trip. We elected our gift, gave the size and that, nor the other items we earned were ready for us upon arrival. Also, none of the reservations we made in advance for dinner/excursions nor our requests for the in-suite mini bar were on record. We had to visit the Guest Sevices desk to get our gifts and re-do all the reservations, plus fill out a new form, wait 24 hours, to receive our mini bar requests. This should be a really simple thing to fix and it's very frustrating to think you'll have these items taken care of so you don't have to do so upon arrival. We always book a couples massage and it generally has been a good value. Not any longer. The price has risen to $360/couple and our lead massuese recommended we try the CBD oil treatment and said if we didn't care for it, we didn't have to buy afterwards. Turns out, that spoonful or more of CBD oil cost us an additional $40/person. We didn't ask if the treatment costs more and should have, but if they want their associates to try to sell add-ons, it should be dislcosed up front that it is an additional cost. I didn't care for that. Really the first time we sort of fell like a "number". The main pool at the south end of the resort needs a lot of updating. It's really small and looks the same as it did on our first visit almost 20 years ago. There's a large area between buildings not too far away that could be a great spot to build a larger, updated main pool. I think the resort would do well to consider that. The beach is, of course, the crown jewel, but a killer pool also goes a long way on vacation. Best of both worlds! We noticed some pretty bad sections behind the Martini Bar that need repair and were pretty easy to spot for anyone visiting. There's probably other areas we didn't notice, but seeing those things while getting "taken" at the Spa didn't set well either. All in all, the focus on customer service from upper management needs a refresh in my opinion. in adidtion to the above, out of nowhere, the menu was completely changed at the martini bar and many items were taken off and puzzling ones were added. The bartenders had to re-learn many drinks on the fly and without prior notice. One martini called "Key Lime Pie" mixed a ctirus with a rum cream. Everyone I saw get one had their ingredients breaking apart not long after the drink was poured. The mix doesn't work and I'm shocked someone didn't check that first before rolling it out. Also, the font is half the size of the previous menu and was very hard to read. This just made no sense to us nor any of the other guests. If it ain't broke... As always, the stafff are largely wonderful. They do an excellent job, are very friendley and welcoming to all guests who choose to engage with them. Not all are like that and that's ok. The grounds are regularly kept pristine, our room was cleaned every day and we received turn down service on top of that. Food is ok to excellent and there is plenty of variety to keep things interesting througout your stay. Drinks include top shelf liquor, all the bartenders are very skilled, some are engaging some keep to themselves. A friendly "hello" and "thank you" go a long way. I don't think they get paid nearly enough for what they do. We will be back, do not hesitate to book a stay at this place! You will love it.
We go to Jamaica every year and at least twice a year. Negril,,we love going there but the two hours mini van bus ride is very long after your flight so prepare yourself for a bumpy ride too… The greeting is very smooth and nice. The lobby is small, but it s ok no need for large fancy lobby right! 9 out 10 staff are all very nice and smiling all the time. Now the rooms! Rooms are average, clean, but be aware if you are in the garden part, specially where are those sections number 9 ,and 10 section it is super noisy at night, and day time,it like sleeping on the high way,the windows and doors are not sealing well, and the street is like not even a hundred feet away and lots and lots of traffic going by all day long ,,starting very early in the morning too. Even having your coffee early in the morning on your balcony is annoying because of the traffic noises. We did not know that… We would like to go back, but with a room on ocean front,it will be worth it,i am sure it must be so amazing waking the ofean waves instead of the cars and motorbikes!!! The beach is simply amazing and super long, you are on the 7 miles beach. You can walk in the water with beautiful clear and sandy ,,no weeds there like in Montego Bay area.We fell in love with that beach and the ocean. Also during the day time at the beach,it is very very quiet,no drunk screamers like around those pools, not that we are pool people but i ve never experienced such a super quiet place during the day time.. On the beach,if you want a drink, you need to go,so no waiters that brings you drinks to you, though I don t mind that at all.. Now as for food, and restaurants. All the food is good, but there is not a lot of choices, specially at the buffet for lunch,it is very limited in variety! They should have more restaurents for lunch and sometimes beach BBQ which there is no activities at all..There is two snaks and bar ,but my first day experience was not that great … Restaurant a la carte,or to reserve for dinner, they are only two available! And one is a very little one ,inside place too ,but it was indeed really great food for our last dinner ,but again been inside that little closed place humm no I would have preferred an open place near the ocean! We will go back, but with a better emplacement of our room… We do recommend Couples Swept Away.
Took a little time to get the restaurants down, but good service & great location. Will definitely book again
This is a great resort. Some travel info first, it is about 9-10 hours flight from London and a further 2 hours from Montego Bay airport so you won't get here until about 2am UK time, so it's a long day. Check in was very quick and we were shown to our room, Atrium room, and then went and got some food. The food is excellent here: great choice for breakfast - egg and waffle/pancake stations, buffet help yourself everything you could want The resort is on a lovely beach and the sea is very shallow for a long way so no chance of being out of your depth. Plenty of sun loungers both by the sea and by the pools. There are sellers going up down the beach, mainly selling weed and such like and you get to know each other over a week, even if you just say no. Lunch is very good, buffet in the main restaurant or set menu items in different places - all very good. There are numerous bars but a big shout out to the Martini bar people as they were great and we drank there every evening. evening food was excellent, plenty of choice, two restaurants need booking but we had no problem getting in these. The room was ok. Plenty big enough but the lighting was very dim and it's not possible to read in the evening in the room if you wanted to as there are no decent lights. the resort, and all the other ones as well, are off a main road so there is traffic noise. there was a lovely balcony with a hammock but a couple of chairs would have been great so we could have sat out there in comfort. the staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. Could not have asked for more. big shout out to Shania who learned our names and said hello to us personally each day. evening entertainment is very good - highlight was Leo Carmichael. there are plenty of activities you can do there, snorkelling, go out on boats etc, so never need to be bored. Superb gym and lengths pool across the road which we used every day. Great changing rooms there as well. All in all this is a great place to come on holiday. It's a shame we had rain every day we were there!
It is ALWAYS amazing! We are repeater's! The people that work there make it incredible! I have been all over the world and I never repeat a vacation because how will I see the world if I do that BUT- I have been to this resort 7 times - I can't help it- it is exactly like the brochure pictures and it never disappoints!
Location & beach
Services degraded , food a bit underwhelming
Everything about Couples is just average from the room to the food, this resort needs to be updated. The two specialty restaurants were very good but the buffet and all the other restaurants were just OK, the drinks were watered down and the seals were off all the new bottles of alchool. For what you pay for this resort you would expect a way better experience.
Context: We've done 1 AI previously. Typically rent condo's/houses albeit with friends and family. This was just my wife and I, so chose AI. First time to Jamaica. Most outstanding qualities of the resort are the staff, the beach, and watersports. We found ALL staff to be consistently friendly, welcoming, and service oriented. I've stayed in nice hotels around the world (years of work travel), this was the most genuinely friendly and helpful staff I've encountered. Beach is amazing! Exceptional strip of sandy beach and sandy swimming area with gorgeous westerly views. Starfish (please don't touch) and stingrays frequent the area. Watersports are plentiful with sailboats, wind surfing, scuba, snorkeling, kayak, SUP, etc. Lessons are available as well. All included except for scuba certifications and use of wetsuit. This area is also staffed exceptionally well. Friendly staff assisting with all gear, answering any questions and ensuring you have a great time. We chose a beachfront verandah suite and were assigned 3317, exactly what we hoped for. 3rd floor, corner room, amazing views, ocean sounds, etc. Room was as expected. A few gripes: mini-split AC ran constantly and took edge off humidity and heat, but couldn't really cool the room. The TV was not 'smart', image was <480p, speaker was blown out. I realize it's an island, but kind of shame given low cost of TV's these days. Also, in room WIFI and cellular was unreliable. We had an emergency call and it was difficult to manage reception. I think working from the room would be impossible, which is also weird shortfall these days. We are not foodies and can be picky, boring eaters from the mid-west US (meat & potatoes). The Palms buffet was hit or miss. We learned its MUCH better to arrive when the buffet opens rather than later, maybe not a big surprise. Patois Patio was consistently good. In our 4 nights, we were only able to get dinner reservations once at Feathers (other nights, other restaurant not available). It was good. Room could use some updating, although was the only room that had strong AC. Bar service was very accessible. Offered a 'drink of the day', but didn't have a drink menu. Several times I had to provide the recipe, but they were very accommodating. These resorts have not embraced the bourbon craze. JD, JB and Southern Comfort were only thing close. Mixers including juices are from a bar gun. Flavor tends to end up watered down. If you like Coke as a mixer, take the Coke from the in room mini-bar to the bar with you. We did Mobay both ways. We arrived 1pm on a Friday. Nice to have somebody hold your hand through arrival, but it likely only saved us 5 minutes. There was no line. We did private car, mainly to not have to wait for bus. Given traffic and lack of passing lanes, not sure duration is any different. Rode bus back to airport. Was fine. They encourage getting there 3 hours early, we arrived on a Tuesday at airport around 10am to depart at 1pm. We went through Mobay lines for security. There was nobody in the regular lines. Killing time in Mobay lounge was comfortable and food was good. Airport has plenty of restaurant options as an alternative, but was busy. Not sure if Mobay is necessary, but it is well executed. If you value views, the ocean, watersports, friendly service, this place is for you. We will likely go back at some point for these reasons.
Nothing but great a positive things to say about our recent visit. All staff were friendly and responsive, and the weather was outstanding. All facilities were good, but they are becoming dated. Might be time for a facelift on rooms, restaurants, etc. The pickleball courts were fun with lots of players from around the world, and also a qualified pro working with guests. The website does not really do the pickleball courts justice. Will definitely go back to this paradise.
This resort relies on the sports and spa facilities for its rating and rates, and is mainly rescued by the gorgeous beach. Food is mediocre and inconsistent, as is the service. Clientele are mainly American, average age circa 58-60, with lots of returners. If you want good service you need to start tipping on arrival. We had a basic room which was spacious, well equipped and kept clean so no complaints on that front. If your preference if for pool not beach, this isn't the resort for you. Also, other than the nightclub there is no real central social space for pre/post dinner drinks or socialising, certainly not outdoors.
The location here is hard to beat - if you are a beach person, this is the one! I have only been to this Couples resort, and before that only been to Sandals resorts! The beach, like I said was the winner for me. Comparing what I had been to in the past, I am going to leave my honest review! The rooms are nice, plain, but nice. Beds comfortable, nothing extravagant about the room, but I don't go to spend a lot of time in my room. We had the beachfront verandah room, with amazing sunsets! I loved sitting out there after a long day in the sun. We had the third floor, so the view wasn't blocked in any way, but they don't have elevators, so keep that in mind! The thing about my room that was a bummer to me, was the noise!!!!!!! Not from guests, but from workers in the mornings, yelling, and the carts that they are pushing on the sidewalks to refill the bars and stuff! It would be helpful to put nice rubber tires on the carts, because its amazing how much noise they made! Also, the A/C in our room stopped working on the 4th day. The housekeeper reported it before we even knew, and I checked on it personally 3 more times after that, and in the last 3 days, it was never fixed. I really only wanted that for sleeping, and it helped drown out the noise, so that was a bummer for me!!!! Bars, restaurants etc. were fine. Two of the restaurants you have to have reservations, we got into both, and Feathers, our meal was amazing. The food is good, not grand or spectacular, but good! Bars are quick and convenient, which is good especially when its hot laying on the beach and swimming all day. In the scheme of things we took the most advantage of Scotch Bonnet on the beach there and the buffet! The Aura nightclub - had a lot of fun in there. BUT - we went the next night when it was not a piano night, and the bartender said it was open till very late hours. A few of us were in there, and the bartender turned off all the lights, and sat with his friends and watched a movie, and never came back to the bar for our drinks! It was very odd, so we all left. The grounds are beautiful, and our housekeeper, Tracey Ann was amazing. I went to the spa, loved it there as well, it feels like you're in a private jungle! We played a TON of beach volleyball with all of the guys out there! They definitely keep you moving and made it fun! HOURS, we played :) They do a great job keeping guests active! All in all, I will definitely return - but I will get a room there off of the beach, they are private and much more quiet!
We just completed our 7th trip to Jamaica and after many years of changing hotels and locations, we opted for our 7th consecutive time to return to CSA. Note that we have booked next years trip already. They will get you a better deal than any travel agent if you book while you are there. Our choice is an Ocean verandah suite near one of the hot tubs. You can see the ocean, but not close enough to be disturbed by the road or the passing guests. Just works for us. Room is well layed out, and they make sure it stays clean. I have been reading some of the reviews and have to laugh. One guy said you had to get a torch to get a chair on the beach. I am an early riser and love to go to watch the sun come up and get pretty much the area I want. My wife had surgery for skin cancer, so sitting in the direct sun is not going to work for us. We would walk on the beach, have breakfast and then swim and there were chairs open everywhere, and the hotel was at 90% occupancy. We did see a lot of people come to the beach around 11:00 am and appear to be upset that someone hadnt reserved a palapa for them. You snooze you lose my friend. The food here really is quite good. We are not foodies and love jerk chicken, and the other jamaican specialties they offer. You will always find good things to eat here, but keep in mind you are not at a five star gourmet restaurant, and if thats your thing, you might look elsewhere. We were impressed by the burgers at Scotch Bonnet by the pool. Smokehouse burgers they called them, and while we didnt go to Jamaica for burgers, they were outstanding. We dined at every restaurant and Feathers was our favorite with Oshea as our server, who embodies the friendly, caring Jamaican personality that we really enjoy. We felt like Patios really upped the quality of the entrees and the service was really good. Lemon Grass is always good, especially if you enjoy a bit of spice. They offer sit down breakfast at Patios which was great, or you could have the breakfast buffet at the palms, and if you cant find something in there to fit your pallet, you have issues. We did order pastry baskets with fruit a few mornings that was delivered to our room. You will not go hungry at the resort. The bartenders are fun and will clean and wash your tumblers before refilling them. One thing we do miss, is the servers on the beach taking drink orders. Supposed to be doing that, but we never saw one being delivered. They need to get that going again. We did get a couples massage that was incredible. Very relaxing. We played pickleball and enjoyed that side of the resort as well. The repeaters dinner was good, and it was nice to listen to Moses playing his guitar and singing for us. The man is so talented and such a nice guy. Highly recommend catching him on Wednesday nights at the romantic bonfire. If your looking to simplify your airport experience, book Club Mobay. It is so nice to have someone meet you at the airport and get your quickly to their lounge for something to eat and drink while you wait for your transport. Dont be in a hurry, as the drive to the hotel is lengthy (2 hours) in construction, and there is no short cut. Our hope is that the Jamaican government realizes what a liability that pot hole filled road is for transporting tourists. Maybe they will get around to fixing the road as they did to Ocho Rios soon. In conclusion, is this hotel absolutely perfect? No, there isnt a perfect resort, and if you find one, you shouldnt go, as you will ruin it. If your going to enjoy the best beach on the planet, swim in warm turquiose waters, eat and drink too much, and just enjoy the vibe of Jamaica, this is the place for you. GregD
The location beautiful accommodations
Spent a week there. Loved it. One suggestion. Put the building numbers - which correspond to the building numbers on the map - on each side of each building. Large numbers. It would make it much easier for guests to find their way around.
We had an amazing stay. Arrival and check-in were smooth and welcoming. The room was great and very comfortable, and housekeeping serviced it twice daily, which was a really nice touch. The à la carte restaurants were excellent and definitely the highlight for dinner. We only tried the buffet on the first night but the music was a bit too loud for us. For lunch, the fish tacos and chicken sandwich were very good. Cocktails and spirits were also great. The beach is truly one of the best — absolutely beautiful. We stayed from mid-February to the beginning of March, and the weather was great most days. It was mostly sunny; sometimes it got a bit cloudy during the day, but there was still plenty of sunshine to enjoy the beach. What really made the stay special was the staff, who were amazing from reception to housekeeping and all the F&B team. A special mention to Ashanti from the beach bar, who served our party for the full 12 days — the best server, always friendly and attentive. If you’re looking for souvenirs, there is a small shopping centre about 5 minutes’ walk away with Hi-Lo Food Stores (p.s. souvenirs, coffee and alcohol were actually cheaper at the airport). Overall, it was a fantastic stay and we would absolutely return. A perfect place to relax, enjoy the beautiful beach, great food and truly wonderful staff. 🌴✨ THANK YOU ❤️
We returned here after 15 years to renew our wedding vows on the same beach as our original wedding. There were problems from the start with this holiday. Couples do not reply to any emails sent to them yet they bombard you with emails selling their excursions. After a delayed 10 hour flight we were left to sit at the airport in their reception area for almost an hour whilst transport arrived. When we got to the hotel they wanted lots of information including return flight details. As we were not returning to the airport from this hotel I did not see the relevance. All I wanted to do was get to my room. The room was very nice and was always cleaned every day. Our wedding ceremony had several issues which included the wedding co-ordinator arriving late for our consultation meeting and also the ceremony. The reverend came to our room looking for us. The music which we wanted was played in the wrong order and also included a song which we had not chosen. The photos which were taken by their photographer were not great. Out of approximately 150 shots we chose 20 after the first pass that we thought were acceptable and reduced this further after looking at them again. When we went to collect our album, the quality of the prints was terrible. When I raised this with the person at the desk she became very defensive and had a very bad attitude towards us. We had to take our complaint to the management to get a resolution. The food in the buffet restaurant was not great with very little choice and some food undercooked to the point where we could not cut the meat with the knives provided. The food in the a la carte restaurants was OK but the portions were very small. Most of the staff who we passed whilst there were very friendly but the staff who served in any of the bars and restaurants were not so friendly and clearly gave better service to those who tipped although this is supposed to be a non tipping hotel. Overall we found that the standards have dropped since our previous visit and no longer think that this is worth the higher than average cost to stay here.
We stayed at Couples, Negril for the second time, our fourth time in Jamaica total. We were very happy to be supporting this island after the storm last year and the people and the resort were great. The airport is under some renovation, but we had no problems at all. We arrived on Friday and left on Thursday, so no Club Mobay needed. Travel was smooth. The ride to the resort ended up being private for us, and while I wish it were less than 90 minutes on smoother roads, it is not. Highlights: The coffee bar. I mean, just fantastic to grab an espresso beverage from 7 am to 10 pm. Delicious. Scuba, my hubby dove several times from their Padi shop and he had a great time. They match you up with a dive buddy if you don't have one. The weather. We had some rain and some wind this trip. It made us appreciate the sunny days more, and was kind of relaxing to get a massage while it was raining. The beach. Clean, chairs plentiful, the offer of drinks all day was excellent. The pool. Aqua aerobics every day were a hoot. The pool bar was not a free for all like at some other resorts (RIU) and people were generally more classy and less rowdy than at some other resorts. We like a good time, but we keep it classy. One disappointment was the non-working jungle hot tub, but that's ok. The food was as expected. Some things are very good, some things are good and some things were not up to standards. The vast majority of what we were served was very good. If not, there were many other choices available and there is no way to go hungry at this resort. We come back because of the size, the comfort and the laid back nature of this resort. It's awesome. If you want shiny white tile and lots of glass, look elsewhere. If you want to see 100s of birds in your jungle view room just steps from the beach, this is the place. Enjoy
Just back from the couples swept away in Jamaica, what a lovely hotel, and in the perfect beach location, all the staff are amazing and very friendly, however we did find the food limited and sometimes luke warm, and we were shocked that people were reserving sunbeds very early in the morning, I was up early most mornings and watched people with there torches going down to the beach area to reserve there sunbeds, which left not many when normal people went out at a sensible time.other the that we had a good time and are rooms were cleaned daily with friendly staff
This is our second trip to CSA and I really only have two comments. 1- My wife and friend went for a massage and said it was the best they had ever had. Also heard another guest repeat the same. 2- There is absolutely nothing to complain about at this resort. Food, room, service, sports complex, entertainment and beach are top notch.
By way of some context, my wife and I are frequent Caribbean all inclusive hotel travellers - usually twice a year, staying on average for two weeks each time. This was our first stay in a Couples resort and absolutely will be our last. We simply urge readers of this review to alter their travel plans and go elsewhere. It has without doubt been, on balance, the worst trip experience in thirty years! The hotel styles itself online as “boutique” and “luxurious” with our travel agent advising it has a 4* rating. Once you read the comments below hopefully you will agree nothing could be further from the truth. We were told of no problems with the hotel prior to our arrival and our trip cost reflects in full the peak season we are travelling in. **Airport Transfer** After a long day of travel (which included a transatlantic flight from the U.K.) we got to the Couples airport arrival lounge in Montego Bay and provided our details to the one member of staff on duty. We then sat around and waited (and waited and waited) for a minivan to take us the 1.5 hour journey to Swept Away. All in all the delay here was around an hour which seemed wholly unnecessary as there were more than enough fellow travellers to occupy the minivans parked outside which we eventually got put in. **Hot Water** This isn’t listed as a room amenity but should be as availability is variable. During our trip we had to move rooms because of no hot water and then no water from the hot taps! Our 2nd room was also plagued with similar problems despite being some distance from our first room. Other guests complained of poor water pressure/luke warm supplies too so there is clearly a widespread issue with the plumbing that management are struggling to address. In a 12 night stay we had no hot water for evening showers on four occasions. **Wi-Fi** I am frankly amazed it was possible to draft this review in resort. Connecting was problematic at best with numerous ‘not spots’ and weak signal areas. Between us we lost count of the times we needed to try and reconnect each day. If you are thinking of using the hotel IT connectivity for work/FaceTime/Teams/Zoom then be prepared for disappointment. **Dining Options** Breakfast has two (excluding continental room service) with buffet and à la carte seating. This is probably the easiest/best dining option of the day. Lunch has buffet or a fast food option (burgers and the like) where the overall quality leaves much room for improvement and very much depends on whether a food delivery has arrived in terms of a good range of options/cook to order station. Evening fare is challenging with two à la carte restaurants which have onerous booking hurdles to overcome, another walk in à la carte (open only 5 nights) with variable overall quality and lastly a buffet which we would suggest should be your absolute last resort, particularly when the entertainment starts and you have to shout to have a conversation at the dinner table. There is an evening snack option after 10pm but choice is mediocre and quality poor. **Staff** One of a few highlights. They are polite, try their best under sometimes difficult circumstances and are as good as any other all inclusive resort we have stayed at in Jamaica. When you consider many have challenging accommodation arrangements at home post hurricane Melissa a few months ago their stoic attitude is great to witness. The watersports team during extended periods of bad weather (which renders them unable to complete normal duties) are left to watch TV and while away their days doing little/nothing productive when there are plenty of other tasks (like neatly tidying beach loungers/stacking pool floats) which could easily be dealt with. This smacked of “not my department/not my responsibility”. **Bars** Staff encourage guests to vacate bars early so they can finish up/close well ahead of published guest closing times. Our worst experience here was Patios when they were clearing the bar just after 10pm but with an 11pm official closing time. **Housekeeping** Good overall with both our rooms as well as turndown all being well taken care of. **Property Generally** Tired and in need of some decent capital investment. Our first room was styled in probably the early 80’s and whilst the second has old Caribbean charm, the lack of descent lighting, particularly in the bathroom is awful. Cold showers in the gloom were not on our list of highlights! There is a total lack of drawer space too. **Overall** The team here really lacks any tangible pride in their hotel (anything which isn’t in their job description is very much off the menu and left for others) which is underpinned by lacklustre senior management and an owning family who simply don’t care or are oblivious to basic issues that shouldn’t be hard to correct. There are guests here who have been coming regularly for years so must have better luck than us or expectations/standards well below what they are realistically paying for. Many tell us they provide the same comments/feedback each year about deficiencies we mention here but nothing ever changes which speaks volumes! Why they keep coming back defies logic. THERE IS NO REASON WHY WE/YOU SHOULD HAVE TO ENDURE A STAY AT THIS HOTEL WITH CORRECTABLE PROBLEMS BEING REPEATED/IGNORED TIME AND AGAIN. WITH THAT IN MIND WE CANNOT IN ALL GOOD CONSCIENCE RECOMMEND THIS SPECIFIC HOTEL AND THE THREE OTHER COUPLES RESORTS IN JAMAICA THAT MOST LIKELY HAVE THE SAME OPERATING RHYTHM.
Thirteen days this visit. More than 220,000 steps — over 100 miles — and somehow it still wasn’t enough. From early morning lessons and matches on the beautifully maintained Har-Tru tennis courts to long walks along the powder-soft white sand, each day feels perfectly full yet blissfully unhurried. Evenings are just as magical, with leisurely strolls to dinner along softly lit pathways, serenaded by a chorus of tree frogs under the Caribbean sky. What truly sets this resort apart, however, is its people. Couples Swept Away is not only well loved — it is impeccably cared for by an extraordinary team who work tirelessly behind the scenes and always with genuine warmth. Even in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, despite the immense personal losses many endured, the staff’s resilience and grace never wavered. Their strength is as inspiring as their hospitality. I’m often up before sunrise. After a short walk to grab coffee, I settle onto the veranda and watch the resort gently awaken. Each morning, the overnight crew from the Patois kitchen passes by, having worked through the night to leave everything gleaming like a grand palace. By 6 a.m., the tractor hums along the shoreline, grooming the beach to perfection, while team members quietly make their way to their stations. The pride they take in their work is unmistakable — and it shows in every detail. A heartfelt thank you to the many who made our stay so special: Tracey Ann Kelly from housekeeping, for the exceptional care of our suite. The outstanding Sports Center team — Trevaun, Norson, Ryan, Donavan, Johnathan, and Colleen — for their energy and professionalism. Sweet Shania from entertainment, a true delight. Christina, Danae, and Farida at Patois. Givan at the Patois Bar. Stacey Ann and the wonderful ladies at Sea Grapes for their beautiful presentation and delicious cuisine. It’s the dedication, warmth, and quiet excellence of this remarkable team that keeps drawing us back. Thirteen days simply wasn’t enough — and we’re already counting the days until we return. 💛
Amazing location on 7 Mile Beach - perfect white sand, you can walk almost forever, safe and secure. The water is pristine, calm in the morning, but more active in the afternoon. Lots of water sports - you can scuba, snorkel, swim, skyglide, all to your heart's content. Friendly atmosphere, feels like family - it's a privilege to be a guest in Jamaica (coming from Canada, we really appreciate the tropical warmth!). Very helpful and accomodating staff, especially if you keep in mind that you are an honoured guest in their beautiful country. Rooms (we had a ground floor Atrium room, 1118, but have also stayed in its sister room, 1119) were spacious, clean, had a relaxed tropical vibe, white with dark wood for contrast. Loved the verandah - a nice hammock to swing in, relaxing couch and lots of cushions. Beautiful private view with lush tropical vegetation. These rooms are close to The Palms, the central restaurant facility, and to the main Lobby. They are halfway in, so you don't hear the bands at night (unless you want to listen in outside, on the verandah!), or the traffic along the main highway at the other end. The gardens are very well maintained - despite Hurricane Melissa, the replanting is well under way, and the orchids hugging the trunks of the palms were starting to bloom when we were there. What a lovely touch - I hope you plant even more of them in the vista along to the ocean ! When we were there (for a fortnight Jan/Feb) we enjoyed blooming hibiscus, ginger, and lots of other Jamaican flora. The grounds staff were very friendly, answered my questions, and obviously took pride in their craftsmanship. To be frank, we are not foodies. But we found the food plentiful, well prepared, with a wide variety available at several locations. We went several times to the French restaurant "Feathers", and the Oriental restaurant "The Lemongrass" for delicious evening meals - advance reservations absolutely required. For casual eating, the "Sea Grapes" had delicious smoothies, local food, lots of vegetables and fruit, and vegetarian options. There's a wide variety of sports options, both on the water and at the sports complex across the highway (don't worry, there's a crossing guard, for those of you who want to relive the primary school days :) Accessibility note: there are a few rooms with a wheelchair accessible ramp, and plenty of others with just a few steps up, which is great. The one suggestion I would make to management is that the washrooms in the main lobby are not accessible - the door is extremely heavy, and there are no grab bars in any of the bathrooms; ditto for the ground floor bathrooms in the Palms. Since these are two heavily used facilities, it would make sense to add accessibility features for your guests. But your staff are very accommodating and understanding, which partly makes up for it. We were thankful to be in Jamaica during the time of the Polar Vortex, which encased Canada and the US in its icy grasp, and even though local temperatures as a results were a bit lower than usual (low to mid 20's) at the resort, we were grateful that we had a beautiful tropical holiday.
We have recently just returned home from a very surreal stay at this incredible establishment, I am literally struggling to find words to do this impeccable place justice, just blown away into orbit by the paradise it is, the beach, the cuisine, the friendliness of everyone, the facilities, our room, the service, the watersports, the vibe, it is the most perfect place we have ever stayed and without a doubt we will be looking to return again for sure, thank you so much CSA for a truly memorable experience.
Our 10 day vacation landed in your surprise winter storm. Everything was closed. This was our 3rd trip here and all we like to do is water sports and lay on the beach. Obviously none of those were an option. The entertainment team saved the day. I can’t say enough good things about Shania, Marky, Delon and Renaldo. They went above and beyond and made our trip so enjoyable. CSA is lucky to have such a great entertainment team.
I was a little worried about our trip to Jamaica this year after Hurricane Melissa, but those concerns disappeared the moment we got through the airport. This was our eighth visit to Swept Away, and it turned out to be one of the best yet. There is some visible impact from the hurricane, but the island—especially the Negril area—has done an incredible job recovering. At Swept Away, a few trees are gone and some supplies are limited, but nothing that affected our stay in any meaningful way. Our room had been remodeled and felt fresh and welcoming. The service was the best we've experienced since our very first visit, and the food was as wonderful as always. It’s truly impressive how far both the island and the resort have come in such a short time after the storm. A big shout‑out to the staff this year—they were absolutely amazing.
This was a relaxing getaway with plenty of activities available. Beautiful surroundings, clean and comfortable rooms, great food. We met several people who had been there many times. The massage spa was amazing. Enjoyed the sports complex. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
First time at Couples. Overall, It gets a 3. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The unit was clean and comfortable. The green jungle atmosphere was very nice. We had nice massages at the spa. Unfortunately, the food was below average with many “out of stock” items. The resort is very out-dated and many things were broken; 3 out of 4 jacuzzis were out of order. The mens steam room was also not working. It was hard to relax at the beach with constant interruptions of locals trying to sell drugs, jewelry, etc. the drinks were too sweet, watered down, and use of cheap liquor. Couples Resorts really needs to invest in this resort to get it up to par, especially with what they are charging. We won’t be back.
The staff was as always amazing, friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The rooms were very spacious and air conditioned, which is a must. The different dining experiences were amazing with many different types of meals to choose from. The beach was beautiful and very well maintained and beach bars always ready with a smile to make you whatever drink you desire!!
I must say that Couples Swept Away is by far the best resort we have stayed in Jamaica. We have been to Jamaica 12 times 9 times to Negril. We have stayed at Couples 7 times and Sandals twice. We stayed at Couples Swept Away from December 19 through December 26th, 2025. This resort is amazing from the service, rooms, food and location! Thank you everyone at Couples Swept Away for making our 12th vistit to Negril Jamaica the most memorable above all! We will definitely be back!!
We had an incredible stay, the place and people were amazing, so relaxing and fun. Would absolutely recommend, the one of a kind long gorgeous beach which was raked and kept pristine at every time. The atmosphere is relaxing and fun, and very laid back. Our room on the first floor was recently renovated and kept sparkling clean with fresh towels and nice bathrooms and walk out balcony. Being returning guest and Jamaican expats we enjoyed the delicious meals which were varied to include Jamaican dishes prepared to perfection. A big shout out to the delicious patties, daily soups and the friendly staff at Scotch Bonnet too. The resort is well treed, lush gardens to wander around in and friendly chats with the gardeners who were more than proud of their work. Most important, the friendly warm staff at every moment of our stay, who would not want to return as soon as possible! Thank you for making our stay out of this world, we soon come.
