The historic hotel was located a short bus ride from Lucerne and the bus stop was across the street. The hotel was lovely as was our room with a balcony. We had a very good view of the water. Both breakfast and dinner were good but the server at dinner got a few orders confused. The breakfast was buffet but the dinner was not n the dinner service was slow..

I should live in the hotel. My stay was amazing. Did I mention that I would not be opposed to spending everyday there. Best service on the Planet. If a peaceful lakeside small city vacation is on your radar, look no further. Did I mention the black out shades, cleanliness, staff of my dreams, location and a view.

Our check-in process was amazing and the Deluxe lake view room with balcony was upgraded to Junior suite which was very nice. The view and location of the hotel and room was extraordinary and one did not feel the need to leave the room. Breakfast was also very elaborate considering Europe.

Upon arrival I walked to the check in desk. Where I was greeted by this lady who the first thing she told me (even though it was 1415) that the room is not ready. Which is standard behavior by hotels that pride on semantics. She made me review the reservation and then she said they have to add 300 CHF per night (3 nights) as a deposit. When she gave me the POS machine I discovered there was 1000 CHF over the total amount of the bill plus the 300 CHF/ NIGHT deposit. First I told her and she said it is correct Sir; at which point I was bothered she did not even care to review; so I hit back by telling her my background in numbers. At which point she apologized politely and charged me the correct amount. Then immediately she said housekeeping informed her that the room will be ready in 45 minutes - take note she made no call or used the intercom systems; housekeeping communicated with her telepathically. I was like no worries we will go see the center and back at 1500. We went back to the hotel and this time we were greeted with Emily. Who escorted us to the elevator. At this point we asked about the Japanese and French restaurants in the hotel. She said she will check and get back to us. We were assigned room 421. Upon walking in the room (again given my background in numbers) I immediately found out the size has nothing to so with the Deluxe Lake View Room advertised on the website. I am attaching a picture of the floor plan and putting a circle around room 421. As the floor plan shows this room is literally shoved behind the service elevator and stairs and a big chunk is taken so that they can fit another room next to it and make a side entrance and bathroom. I decided to go down again to the check in desk. This time I was greeted by Cristina. I politely told her I got the worst deluxe lake view room. She started by saying well you got what you booked. At this point I pulled the floor plan and asked her to explain how the room 421 is similar to the 20 rooms on the same side. She said again that is a deluxe lake room view but let me see what I can do. She took 10 minutes then told me she needs time that I should go to the room and she will call me. After 36 minutes exactly she called me and told me she has 3 solutions. I asked her to show me all 3 so that we can decide. While showing me the 3 solutions on 2 occasions we spotted on the floor cleaning cloths. At which point I also explained to her I started my career at a hotel inspection firm. To make a long story short we chose the solution but the room was not made by housekeeping. She said they need time and we ended up getting the solution room at 1800 - completely voiding the hotel's claim that they are strict by their check in and check out time policy. So we wasted 3 hours due to a room called 421 who is forced to exist in the Palace's floor plan. May I also mentioned we settled for a partial lake view room. I would like to point out that during the solution tour we did ask Cristina again for the French and Japanese restaurants and she said she will get back to us. We chose the Japanese; she called us to the room and said she will check or put us on the waiting list. Sadly we never heard back from her or Emily. She did send us a nice prosecco bottle to the room. Which is a 10 for effort. The note on it was lovely specially with the phase of my life I am going thru. Now for a hotel that charges over 1K CHF a night one detail I need to give you is that during breakfast if you want to upgrade your breakfast to like lets say Egg Benedict you will be charged 20 CHF. Do not ask me why but they do. Breakfast is good but not wow. The service here I have to say impeccable. Furthermore for a hotel of this caliber do not expect a barista made coffee; they use the machines you can find in any 4 or 5 star hotel. Lastly the staff tries way to hard to show they are elite. Like if you ask where are the restrooms they will say something like it is located right next to the beautiful bar. Or if you ask for the elevator they would say in front of the gorgeous stairs. Beauty does not need to be announced; it draws attention automatically. One last thing is if you order any main course from the all day dining room service; the sauce itself is 8 CHF. My one sentence summary is for a ultra luxury hotel; they lose such title with ultra concentration on insignificant charges and the staff trying ultra hard to show they are elite; they are so busy in such useless details that they forget clients' request like my reservation at the restaurant. If it was not for Cristina partially solving the horrible room I would have given them a zero not even a one star.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The location was perfect. The room was perfect. Facilities were perfect. Staff was amazing. Definitely would visit again.

We had a five night stay with a room overlooking the lake. The room we had was perfect allowing us to have wonderful nights sleep and enjoying relaxing times sitting on the balcony over looking the glorious lake . We took advantage of the spa (amzing) , the gym (everything you need for a decent workout) , room service (brilliant) and most of the dining options. We were fortunate that the weather was great so the outside terrace (Quai 10) that faces the promenade and lake was open so we had a few long and lazy drinks socking up the graceful and elegant atmosphere. Breakfast is taken in the main restaurant , Mozern , and the variety and selection of food available is large so that you can start your day in the best possible way. It is a relaxing and experience with no need to rush. We also ate there for dinner and there again is a varied and large menu so we had plenty to choose from. And as always the food we had was excellent. We also had dinner in Colonnade, their fine dining restaurant with two Michelin stars, and that was an amazing dining experience. Every member of staff throughout the hotel was kind, thoughtful and helpful. We cannot thank them enough.

If I had to characterize MOLZ by only 2 things this is what I would keep : a fabulous terrace view over the lake of Luzern and a fantastic Omakase dinner at the Michelin starred Minamo. If you stay at MOLZ, you should not hesitate to book a room with a lake view. It is so beautiful. And if you can, I would even recommend one with terrace on the first floor. I have enjoyed so much seating there, looking at the lakescape while savoring a drink. The room is well-equipped and well-furnished, with all the necessary amenities. My only criticism would be the size of the room, too small and narrow, with a tiny bathroom. MOLZ has 3 restaurants, of which 2 are Michelin starred. The first one is Minamo, an “8 seats at the counter” authentic Japanese restaurant. The cuisine is delicious, fresh, and refined. The chief is very friendly, he explains each and every dishes to the guests. A real fantastic experience not to miss. In the contrary, the 2* restaurant Colonnades, serving French cuisine, is disappointing. Most of the plates are too heavy, greasy or creamy, to the point that my stomach felt not comfortable that night after the dinner. And this was not my sole experience since my 3 other guests did feel the same. Final word about the service, up to expectations for a 5* hotel, but lacking somehow a personal touch that I’ve experienced in other hotels including MO ones.

Review for Mandarin Oriental Palace Luzern - Family Emir Our stay at Mandarin Oriental Palace Luzern was truly memorable and reflects what great hospitality should feel like in Switzerland. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was exceptionally warm. The team at reception unfortunately we do not recall the name was genuinely kind, attentive, and made us feel immediately comfortable. Throughout the stay, every staff member we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and clearly motivated to provide the best possible experience. The location of the hotel is outstanding. Directly on the lake, with beautiful views and a very calm atmosphere, while still being within easy reach of the city center of Lucerne. You can walk along the lake promenade, reach the old town within minutes, or explore landmarks such as the Kapellbrücke or take excursions towards Mount Pilatus and Mount Rigi. The overall atmosphere of the hotel, especially in the evening by the lake, is very relaxed and elegant. It is a place where you can truly slow down. The culinary experience was excellent. We tried several dishes from the menu including fish and everything we ordered was of very high quality. The consistency across the dishes was impressive. There are also a few smaller points we would like to mention, more as suggestions: One aspect we noticed in Switzerland in general, including here, is that terrace areas tend to close relatively early. Extending the opening hours slightly especially in the evening or even offering breakfast outside more consistently would significantly enhance the overall experience, given the beautiful lakeside setting. At breakfast, while the quality was good, the à la carte selection felt slightly limited compared to other Mandarin Oriental properties or similar high-end hotels. That said, these are minor observations within an otherwise very strong overall impression. What stood out most to us was the genuine effort of the entire team. There is a clear sense that people care, try to help, and want guests to have a great stay. This makes a real difference. We would absolutely return and it is also worth mentioning that the level of service fully justifies the tipping culture at this hotel.

Had the opportunity to stay here for two nights prior to a river cruise. The hotel is very pretty with a great view of the lake. The room was nice. But the staff? Unbelievable! They were ALL so incredibly attentive, accommodating and friendly. Each one couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was amazing, and they succeeded!

Just stayed here as a very experienced Mandarin Oriental Pearl member. The hotel had some great aspects, but also some aspects that could be improved. The upgrade to a terrace room facing the lake was incredible. The terrace was massive, had proper furniture and the views are immaculate. Might be the most beautiful terrace and view I have ever seen from a hotel room. So make yourself a facor, and book a lake view room, worth every penny. The room was super modern. Room itself was really really good. Only downside was very narrow single beds, and the very very firm mattress. I think it did not have the same down topper their Kind beds always have. The staff was always very friendly. However, some unfortunate hickups occured, which definitely should not happen at the very best hotels. I asked what benefits my Pearl membership would provide at dinner, they did not answer the question correctly. I then sent them pictures of what their website states as the benefits. Only after that they confirmed those benefits were accurate. However, these benefits were not provided to us at dinner, until I asked about them. And still, the waitress said I could use 1/2 of the benefits, not both, even tho the front desk and MO app had confirmed both would be included. I did not state my disagreement, as I was unsure what was correct and what not. Also at dinner, we ordered 2 tenderloins, one medium, one medium rare. Both were cooked well done. I showed mine to the waitress who appoligized and offered to make a new one. However, it took almost 40 minutes to get the new one, which was just as well done as the previous ones. I was not going to order a new one, so I accepted my faith and ate it alone, as my accompanion had already left for bed, after our very long driving day. They did not charge the fillet, which was a nice gesture. However, the bill had 1 too many cokes, but I was ready to go to bed and once again accepted my faith with the overcharge. Another issue was that the valet service forgot our car keys with them after our checkout. We had a brand new car, so we had 2 sets of keys with us. Then we had driven all the way to Zurich when they called us and informed of the accident. It was too late, we did not have time to drive back so they suugested of shipping those to us to MO Vienna, where we are staying now. That is a big mistake. However, I understand mistakes happen and they took responsibility of the mistake and found a way to manage it. If the view from the terrace was not so stunning, I would have been quite disappointed in our experience here, but luckily the terrace and view gave us somthing to properly enjoy! The staff were heavily understaffed at the Mozern restaurant that evening, the service was far from intimate and personalizez and attentative. The breakfast was quite good, they had everything and everything tasted excellent. The location is perfect, walking distance to everywhere, but still on a quiet part of the downtown. The staff was always very friendly. Especially the doormen and the front desk and especially Emily, so happy, and genuine, offered perfect customer service.

One of the top 2 or 3 hotels we’ve stayed in. An amazing location directly on the lake with stunning views, a superb staff, excellent food, and highly comfortable, functional rooms. We did not want to leave and look forward to returning.

Beautiful location, amazing staff/service. From arrival to departure; everyone was attentive, helpful, and absolutely amazing. Completely sold on this brand. From moment you arrive, staff waiting to take your bags, offer you a drink, and take you to the front desk. At the front desk, you will be greeted by the most friendly host/hostess who will check you in; take you to your room, and show you around the hotel. The rooms are clean, the amenities phenomenal, and the service great. You are situated right on the lake with stunning views, walk outside and you are on path to main city along the lake. Perfect location. Best hotel/service we have been to in a long time.

One of favorite hotel stays ever! The hospitality, suite, food, and incredible VIEW! We loved every minute of our stay and can’t wait to return to Lucerne.

We spent 3 amazing nights here and loved every moment. From the second we arrived until we left, everything just felt easy, relaxed, and special. Location Super easy to get to – about a 15-minute walk from the train station, right by the lake. Front staff Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, from the doormen to the front desk. You feel looked after instantly. Johannes, Front Desk Manager and his team were wonderful. This is a luxurious, top hotel, but there´s a very relaxed, grounded atmosphere to it. Food The breakfast was lovely, something for everyone. The quality of the ingredients is superb. We ate at Mozern every night and still didn’t try everything we wanted. There are other restaurants to choose from, but this was our preference because one of us has dietary restrictions. The food is seriously good – well done and full of flavour. Highlights were the Rainbow Salad, Sweet Potato Fries, and a Swiss main (with a name we still can’t say!). Oh, and the chocolate dessert! A huge shoutout to Lucas, Fabio, and Sebastian – they made every dinner feel smooth and special. They worked so well together as a team, and it was an experience and an atmosphere we haven´t seen or felt in a while. Spa & Gym So good we actually used it every day (which never happens!). Really relaxing and beautifully done. Loved all the snacks and drinks in the gym and all the amenities in the sauna and steam room area. Rooms Probably one of the best rooms we’ve stayed in. Everything is thought through, nothing is missing. I loved the Dyson hairdryer and straightener. It was perfection! Overall Our stay was perfect. The breakfast and dinner were superb. Every single staff member was kind and professional, even in the small details, like staff stepping aside in the hallway until you pass. The cleaning team were superb too! A huge thank you to Johannes, the front desk manager, who really stood out. He made us feel genuinely welcome from the start and went out of his way to ensure everything was perfect throughout our stay. We had the best time and will 100% be back.

We were here only one night, and it was our second night in any Mandarin Oriental. We booked a Suite, with Lake View and Terrace through the AMEX Fine Hotels and Resorts program. We had them make the sofa bed up for our teen daughter. The room was amazing; the terrace and view of the lake and mountains were amazing x 10. We weren't in the room long but I'm told the full stable of Dyson hair appliances was pretty cool by those in my party that know this sort of thing. We ate in the bar for dinner and loved it; the beef dumplings were a surprise hit, so we ordered a follow up serving. Breakfast wasn't spectacular. We expected more than what was delivered but it was still very good. The hotel is a bit away from the center of the town, but it is a beautiful property with great service.

Staff were exceptional and made us feel genuinely welcome, even surprising us with a honeymoon upgrade. The rooms were beautifully designed, comfortable, and offered lovely lake views. The hotel’s signature scent and overall ambience created a warm, inviting atmosphere.

The bed consisted of two double beds pushed together, and the mattress topper didn’t fully cover the join, making the middle quite uncomfortable. Service in the hotel restaurant was slow and not up to expectations. Additionally, the safe in the bedroom was not working.

We spend a spectacular 1 night stay in Luzern. The hotel has a been preserved with the historical look while all the amenities inside reflect the modern age. Aperitif at the bar counter, dinner by the window overlooking the lake. The spa area and gym are well equipped. I would deeply recommend a stop to everyone around.

It’s always a pleasure staying at a Mandarin Oriental property, and this one certainly lived up to expectations. The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive, consistently going above and beyond to accommodate our requests. Claudio, who welcomed us warmly, gave us a tour of the hotel and our room while sharing the story of the property. The hotel itself feels brand new, and the rooms were outstanding. The breakfast was also very good, offering a wide and thoughtfully curated selection with high-quality ingredients and something for every taste. We were generously upgraded several categories, which was a lovely touch. I’m already looking forward to returning.

Al check in , hanno fatto upgrade di stanza al mio amico che viaggiava con me, invece a me hanno chiesto la differenza di prezzo per avere la vista, mi sono rifiutato perché ho trovato questo offensivo e maleducato, in più mi hanno dato una stanza con bagno per disabili su strada molto rumorosa. Ho trovato questo modo di comportarsi molto maleducato e poco professionale. Il giorno dopo ho chiesto un taxi per aereoporto e non ho chiesto il prezzo , all’arrivo il costo del transfer era 430chf, per 50 minuti , anche in questo caso non mi hanno detto che il prezzo era stato fissato con il taxi dall’hotel , per questa cifra doveva per lo meno essere una limo e non un taxi sporco di peli di cane e con cattivo odore di cibo. Chiedete prima di prendere il taxi. Complessivamente valuto i servizi del management dell’hotel poco attenti ai clienti, per me non sono all’altezza del brand. Viaggio molto e negli altri Mandarin nel mondo ho sempre avuto trattamenti molto gentili e premurosi. Esperienza negativa

We were in Switzerland for 14 days and stayed in 4 five star hotels. Mandarin gave us the best experience among those. Certainly recommend.

PURE PERFECTION in Lucerne. Walkable to everywhere. Easy and free bus tickets. Hotel was gorgeous. Meals were perfection. Hospitality was THE BEST. We loved every single thing about this hotel.
