Friendly staff
No queen beds. Parking and traffic was horrible.
This place was perfect. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful!
to many hind fee's and why is parking 40 dollars, dummies thing i ever seen and they over charged me 50 dollars for something i never bought and never got that money back.
the rooms was nice.
Good location to attend concert
Hotel bar/food restaurant was understaffed
Close to venue
Traffic and not being able to park in hotel parking garage
Great location. Walkable to everything. Excellent food and beverages. Staff was awesome. Highly recommend.
RIKKI the phone operator , she stayed on the phone and directed me to the parking garage. She was amazing
Great location
The location was convenient and the staff was friendly.
Unfortunately, the room was not clean. There was hair and dirt on the floor, and the overall cleanliness was very poor. The windows also did not block outside noise, so it was very loud at night.
This historic property is noticeably unkept and deteriorating. My room had visible dust and dirt all over, blood‑like stains in the bathroom on both the floor and walls, a hair piece on the floor under the desk but in plain view, and an overall dirty feel. Trash near the elevators was rarely emptied and often overflowing all week. Noise was another issue. I could hear conversations on both sides of my room. Detailed normal -voice -level discussions came through the vents. The outside street noises (expected) were much more welcomed than conversations coming into the room. Throughout the entire week, multiple areas of the hotel were “under repair” with no progress—treadmill out of service, escalators down, broken door on the side that would dangerously slam on anyone not paying attention, and other amenities unavailable. A coffee stirrer and other debris sat in the same spot in the hallway every day of my stay, never picked up. The building feels outdated, poorly maintained, and even had mismatched bulbs and a light out in the room. Internet service was poor, and complaints went unanswered. Hotel assured me they would return with an internet solution and no calls, no visits, nothing. No microwaves in rooms but 2 were available for entire hotel to share on third floor. The outlet photo says it all (take a look at the attached photo). The final issue occurred after checkout, when the hotel called asking about “all the items I left in my room" 5 hours after I checked out. They had the wrong room and were contacting me about someone else’s belongings. I guess I'm an unhappy Marriott BonVoy member after this stay. Overall, not a good experience.

Closeness to the venue
Had to pay for WiFi, the check in person tried to tell me I hadn’t paid and would have to rebook the night versus calling over for management to help fix the problem and kept saying my card declined very loudly several times.
Location
Very busy for HUGE concert. May suggest adding some type of speaker system to hear the receptionist during check in. Exceptional receptionist were during their best! They couldn’t hear me and I couldn’t hear them at times. Just a suggestion.
Pre-stay issues: Where do I start with just how horrible this hotel is? I guess it starts with their sister property booking rooms when it is closed for rennovation. So, the call center moved us from Le Meridien to this property. The problem was that this property's management knew nothing about us, our stay, or even that their sister property is closed. Two separate individuals acted like they didn't believe us. Which is just poor customer service. Issues with the stay: The lady at the front desk (Keke or Kim) was very unpleasant. She clearly hates her job. Further, the A/C is broken. They've sent 2 engineers who guess at what is wrong with the unit and "fix" it temporarily. The room is fine, but definitely not a "premium" hotel. The Rembrandt in Kansas City is much nicer, better staffed, and better maintained. This is obviously a "business class" hotel, akin to a Fairfield Inn. Do not expect USB-C outlets; its all out-dated type-A. The bathroom is attrocious to try to get ready in. There is no makeup counter, desk, or mirror. And the bathroom has the passive style ventilation, like a Drury Inn. It takes 5 minutes (not hyperbole) for the hot water to finally come on in the shower/tub. Also, do not expect room service for breakfast. They really push their buffet and severely limit what is otherwise available for breakfast. It doesn't help that all the in-room coffee is dark roast either. The only reason this hotel seems to exist is to serve the convention center across the street. So, if you aren't here for a convention, please stay somewhere else for your sake.
Always clean and food , service always on point. Next time I get valet also.
Nothing
I stayed at the Marriott St. Louis Grand while attending a conference. The hotel’s biggest advantage is its location. It’s within walking distance of many downtown attractions, restaurants, and the convention area, which made getting around very convenient. Unfortunately, nearly everything else about my stay was disappointing. The first issue was customer service. Before arriving, I called to add my wife’s name to the reservation so she could check in and receive a room key before I arrived later that evening. Instead of helping over the phone, the front desk staff simply told me I would need to use the chat feature in the Marriott app. The interaction felt dismissive and unhelpful. I had also reserved a room with one king bed. When we checked in, we were informed that no king rooms were available and were given a room with two full-size beds instead. It was disappointing to arrive and find that the room type I had reserved was unavailable. The hotel itself is clearly showing its age. While I understand that older hotels can still provide a great experience, the guest rooms are in need of significant updating. The furnishings, finishes, and overall appearance feel dated. The biggest problem, however, was cleanliness. When I first entered the room, I immediately noticed a heavy layer of dust on several flat surfaces, especially the bedside table. There was enough dust that you could literally draw lines through it with your finger. The most concerning issue occurred on our second night. The comforter accidentally slid off the bed, exposing the inside surface. We discovered what appeared to be a large blood stain, a large urine stain, and a separate blue stain on the comforter. This was unacceptable and honestly made us question the cleanliness of the entire room. I called the front desk to report the issue. They promptly sent an employee to our room, but instead of bringing a replacement comforter, he arrived with only a flat sheet and a blanket instead of a comforter. To make matters worse, he left the stained comforter in our room rather than taking it with him, leaving us to deal with it ourselves. While I appreciate that they responded quickly, the response did not adequately resolve the problem. Overall, the excellent location is the only reason I’m not giving this hotel one star. The combination of poor customer service, failure to honor the reserved room type, outdated accommodations, cleanliness concerns, and an inadequate response to a significant housekeeping issue left me very disappointed. I would recommend looking at other downtown St. Louis hotels before choosing this one.
Great facilities, very good location!
Our room was SO far from the elevator!
The staff was wonderful, the location was great!
They need to update the rooms and clean the carpets.
Good location
Staff
Convenience
Didn’t eat breakfast there. The chef salad was good
Self Parking location. Understand that cannot be changed
Everything is within walking distance
The garage elevator was broken
No face towels. Expensive parking
The staff were extremely kind, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.
The hotel rooms could stand to be deep cleaned and updated. There corner next to the bathtub was extremely dirty, there was a stain in the closet from a leak and there was paint pealing on the bathroom ceiling. Valet took an extreme amount of time for drop off and pick up. One day it took over 30 min to get our car.
This actually a mixed review of the Marriott St. Louis. We attended the National Baptist Congress this week and the location is great. It’s right across from the Civic Center and there are plenty of restaurants in the area. Keke, Rikki and Itayvia were fantastic in helping us with many things while we were there. I can’t say enough about them. Exceptional! But, there was one problem that could have been catastrophic. On the last day I texted and requested my car from valet parking. There had never been a problem because the response text was always your car is being delivered. This time the text said my car had already been requested. I asked the head valet and he said he would take care of it. Did that mean someone had taken my car earlier? It took over 30 minutes for the car to be delivered. Eventually I saw our car driving up and I went to get my wife and luggage in the lobby. When we returned the valet had given our vehicle to someone else. We looked and saw our car getting ready to turn onto the side street. I had to run and catch them and tell them they had the wrong car. I don’t know if they had a ticket or not. But they were certainly driving away in our new car. Valet parking needs to verify tickets before releasing a vehicle because if it happens again, someone will be on the hook for a lot of money. Hotel score 10. Valet parking 0.
Good location
Prices a little higher for regular rooms
Location was good
Food at hotel was limited and plain. Room was a little outdated
The best thing about this hotel is the proximity to the convention center. They need to do a complete renovation and refresh the place. Hotel gym is actually pretty expansive. Front desk staff is friendly. AC units are really loud in the rooms.
This stay was for business. Convenient for the convention center. The hotel needs a face-lift. Rooms were tired and the food was mediocre but the staff was great. Wouldn't choose it for leisure.
This hotel is tired and needs upgrading
The Starbucks in the lobby
The staff was highly rude and when I asked for the possibility of a late checkout I was immediately told no and that the people coming in tonight were a higher commitment. I asked for a reason and the same response given again like I didnt understand her the first time. Just very cold and unfriendly. My $750 for two nights no longer mattered because more $$$ was walking in through the doors later. The store downstairs closes far too early and I was not able to grab some water for my room. The service at the bar was slow. Overall the staff made the hotel experience horrible. I was shocked that not an extra hour could be allowed and the attitude that followed throughout the whole conversation.
As Bonvoy members, we can speak with authority that this property is the worse Marriott we visited. I’ll begin with saying the staff are exemplary but it stops there. This property is so incredibly run down. The carpet throughout was disgusting. I could barely see through the windows of our room because they had filthy. If a Marriott executive visited this location, they would be appalled. Lastly, we did not dare go out at night. There’s an abandoned theater across from the hotel and the front looked like a crime scene (i.e. blood splatter all over the sidewalk and the front of the building). It was evident that it was fresh. This is not about the employees but it’s a disgrace that Marriott would allow one of their properties to be in such disarray.
Location
Everyone needed more help getting out of parking deck, very confusing what to do.
The beds were very comfy, and there was lots of room in the room. I enjoyed the amenities that the hotel offered, like the gym and bar.The bathrooms were huge. And i enjoyed the tv having so many options to watch.
The view we had was just the building. I really wish it had a view of the city. I also wish that there was a continental breakfast. I feel for the price that was paid they should offer a free breakfast especially on the weekends.
The close proximity to Busch Stadium.
The sheets on the king size bed didn’t fit well and they kept slipping off around our heads. Plus the breakfast bar was way too expensive!
Updated and clean. Great location.
No complaints.
Took around 25 minutes by road / car to get to the hotel , my first impression was of an older property situated in the commercial/ business district of the city .As you enter the main lobby the open plan bar is in front of you with front desk to the left and hotel store/ shop to the right . Friendly and efficient check in , I registered my bonvoy status , but no points for this quick trip as I did not spend any money at the hotel . Room itself was typical Marriott , room was clean apart from minor issue in bath room area with used soap bar from previous guest still in dish , long hair on shower wall and almost finished toilet roll not replaced by new one ! No bedside clock , bed was comfortable and clean , fridge still had bottle of unopened apple juice from previous guest. Housekeeping did check if my room required service/ cleaning for my second night . Shower was very nice but no rubber mat as bath didn’t seem to be non slip ( I prefer to shower than sit in the bath ) Room sound proofing was pretty good and hotel staff were friendly and helpful. There is a local supermarket 5 or 6 minutes walk from the hotel that sells hot and cold food amongst other things . The Arch and museum are a short walk along with the baseball stadium other attractions are further away . I hope the hotel eventually gets some updating and refurbishing soon .
The Marriott St. Louis is a solid, average hotel that works especially well if you’re attending something at the convention center. The location is definitely the biggest advantage — super convenient and easy to get back and forth without much hassle. The hotel itself is showing a bit of age in places, but it does appear the rooms have been updated relatively recently, which helps the stay feel more comfortable overall. The restaurant was good and the breakfast offerings were perfectly fine, though service was consistently on the slower side during multiple visits. The lobby area can also become extremely crowded during large conventions, especially in the evenings, so finding a quieter nearby bar may be a better option if you’re looking to relax. Overall, it’s a decent stay that gets the job done well for convention travel, even if it’s not especially memorable.
VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. We were charged a smoking fee while we DID NOT smoke in our room and it shows ON CAMERA that we smoked outside on the street. Emily, the manger at the time, discriminated on us stating she could smell our room from around the corner and down the hall , while PASSING 10 OTHER ROOMS she states. How can she pin point it to be OUR ROOM?!? Makes no sense. She stated because she found bits of tobacco in our trash can that “that was enough evidence”. Absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional on their end. Was a lovely hotel and we had planned to stay for more business trips, but not now. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE DISCRIMINATED ON. This is also being taken further on our end due to the disrespect. $350 added to our stay.
Location
Cleanliness, have videos of mold in bed sheets
I rate this a zero because if moldy sheets! A $100 credit, keep it! The next night, it happened again! I shall never return. I had no idea that a two night stop could be a horror show.
Clean and comfortable.
Expected better for the hefty price.
Nicely located and kept up and clean!
Very expensive to eat and drink at the bar! It was crazy prices! And it wasn’t anything special! It would be different if it was a 5 star restaurant but it’s 5 star prices!
The Valet guys were awesome. They were all very poliet and understanding. Really good at their jobs. The Bar was by far the nicest place in the whole hotel.
The room had a stain on the floor under a table and the faucet in the bathroom was broke no cold water was avaliable. Other than that is was a very nice room. The hotel lobby person that checked me in looked down on my party like we were at the wrong hotel when she never gave me a chance to show my confirmation number then changed her attitude after she finely search for my reservations that I made online a week ago. I did take her attitude as a kindly type of person.
I stayed at the Marriott St. Louis Grand for a conference and was honestly very surprised by the level of hospitality for a Marriott property. From the moment I checked in, the experience was disappointing. The front desk agent was sitting in a chair during check-in, seemed like she did not want to be there, barely spoke loud enough to hear, never welcomed me to the hotel, and failed to add my rewards number despite me asking multiple times. Each time I asked, I was made to feel like I was bothering her. The property itself also felt very outdated. The rooms were underwhelming, the beds felt extremely small and uncomfortable, and overall the hotel did not reflect the standard I typically expect from Marriott. The worst experience happened the following morning at the Starbucks inside the hotel. After being told they were out of the tea I originally wanted, I asked the cashier for an alternative recommendation, which she provided. When I received the drink, it was made incorrectly. I politely explained the issue and asked for it to be remade, but the cashier immediately became argumentative and insisted I never ordered it that way. I restated the conversation we had at the register, and eventually had to firmly ask for the drink to be remade. While another employee stepped in to remake the drink, the cashier continued speaking negatively about me in an aggressive and threatening manner, including comments like “I’m not the one,” “these f’ing customers,” and “if she want it she found it.” The behavior and tone were completely inappropriate and honestly made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I travel often for work and rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was unacceptable from start to finish. Between the poor customer service, outdated accommodations, and hostile interaction at Starbucks, I will absolutely not be returning to this hotel.
So outdated and dirty. The carpets in hallways are stained. Smelled musty. There were hangers and wine glasses outside my door in hallway when arrived. The shower gel dispenser didn’t work and no soap. I informed the hotel said they would fix. When returned to shower it had not been fixed and still no soap. Multiple other conference attendees said their soap did not work either. The worst Marriott I’ve ever stayed in. I would avoid this property. Super rundown. This place needs a complete overhaul and upgrade.
They do not honor reservations. You might reserve double beds (because you have kids), but when you arrive, they just say ‘sorry we don’t have any double beds left.’ Further, Gold status means nothing to them . Personally, I will never stay here again.
Executive King suite was spacious and perfect
They overbooked the hotel for the weekend. I booked my stay 5 months in advance and was staying for the weekend. I got bumped to the hotel 2 blocks away. The Marriott Grand was hosting my daughter’s dance competition and it made it VERY inconvenient to transport 2 little girls and their dance things 2 blocks in the city of St. Louis. I live in the county and was just staying her for convenience. Well, it wasn’t very convenient after all. Plus they didn’t notify me a head of time, which would have been great. I unloaded all of our belongings plus dance props, moved my car a block away to their parking garage, walked all the way back, only to be told to go get my vehicle and pack everything up again to be moved to the other hotel.
Booking.com收了全費. 但酒店仍收我錢. 我還要向酒店查詢, 又要聯絡booking.com跟進. 十分麻煩. 現時仍未知能否取回款項. 差差差
This hotel should not be 4 stars. The AC does not work (and there are many other reviews talking about this and the replies form the hotel all say they will fix it. Just stop lieing to us). We told the staff to not come back to the room after they could not find the issue with the AC and they showed up at 11:45 and would not stop knocking on our door. To make matters even worse, the staff tried to move us into a smaller room (no other rooms where available since everyone was here for the World Robotics Championship), and the front desk manager said that the "new' room had working AC and she had checked it herself. Another person with me decided to go check first and it was a good thing we did because that room also had no AC. Another thing, the staff asked if they could bring our luggage to our room but were told the wrong room number by the valet so it was taken to another room before finally coming to us. We were forced to stay here because of the Vex Robotics Tournament and the hotel said they could accommodate everyone but (hint hint) they can't. Please do not stay here, you will come to regret your decision unless you like to stay in a sauna. We had to switch hotels and wish I could give 0 stars. Also I thought Marriott was supposed to be "upscale" and "modern" but this makes any embassy suites I have stayed at look like a four seasons. The only AC you will get is in the lobby.
Clean, friendly and upgraded amenities in the rooms.
Easy check in and out, helpful staff, and great location for our trip. Love the fitness center.
The room needed more attention to cleaning. Needed more dusting. Beds not too comfortable, dented mattress.
Location
No free wifi
Location
Overpriced, outdated, dirty, staff was rude.
Delores - front office staff went above and beyond to help. So greatfull for her letting us know by 12:30pm that we could check in an hour early.
$283 for a room
Noise from elevator and inner court
This was not a horrible place and was a great location for event we were there for. Room was clean, a little dated. My main concern was the elevator was down for the 3 nights we stayed. The staff was great- helpful, offering use of freight elevator if they could. That being said, hotel management should be more prepared for large events!
The room is quite rundown. Bad water pressure, really cheap toiletry products, breakfast items were definitely leftovers from day before. The room is not sound proof so lots of noise from street. The staff were very nice though. Everyone was super friendly and really tried above and beyond to help you out.
I stayed three nights here. The staff were all wonderful and helpful. The hotel is right next-door to the entrance to the convention center making it ideal for conventions, but not much else as there really isn't the whole lot around the immediate neighborhood nor would you want to go far as there's abandoned sky rises not but a block away anyway. St. Louis is no doubt an unfortunate place and the area suffers from flooding as there was standing water on the sidewalks. The Starbucks, which is technically in the hotel lobby, is set back six or seven steps from the sidewalk and can only be entered from inside the hotel and not outside. Maybe it's for flooding, maybe it's a neighborhood thing, not sure. Bush Stadium and the Gateway arch are about a 15 minute walk away. There is lots of food near Bush Stadium, but to get food to the hotel, you're largely left with the in hotel restaurant or DoorDash. The hotel could use some updating. It's interesting that in the lobby they have a video on replay about the remodel that happened 12 years ago and it seems like they haven't changed a thing since. One of the four star diamond awards on the wall is actually missing a diamond lol. The room doors, for example, look tired and weathered. The hot water in the room was coming out of both faucets, in all my years of travel, I have never seen that occur. Eventually if you run the water for 20-30 minutes it cools off enough where you can take a shower. For the price, I probably would look at something different in the area as you were paying for the convenience to walk across the street to the convention center, it felt more like an all-inclusive resort setup than a downtown hotel.
Room was spacious!
You had to pay for wifi.
Breakfast was good just expensive. Location was good for what we was doing
Paying for parking when you are paying a premium for a room doesn’t make sense to me
N/A
I did not have any hot water and there was no talk about a discount or refund. It cost too much per night to not have any hot water.
The room was nice and location was close to where we were going.
The 40 dollar parking fee was outrageous and the staff was unhelpful.
Nothing
We had a bad experience , hotel was in prime location and it’s 3 star hotel, when we entered into room we feel odd smell and staff is not polite .
Proximity to location
Bed bugs, lack of attention from staff when notified of said issue!!!
The room and beds were clean, at least.
There was no toilet paper in the room and room service did not respond when we tried to call them with the phone in our room. We had to resort to using the tissue paper in the bathroom. We also ran out of body wash after only one of us took a shower so they clearly did not check to refill it. Paid wifi is also rediculous for the price of the room.
Liked that the room was equipped with mini fridge. Bathroom was clean and plenty of towels. Window treatments were good at blocking out light.
Room #735 had a significant tear in the carpet between the beds. All of us tripped on it during our 2-night stay. A heavy marijuana smell was present in and around the elevators. There were cigarette butts in the stairwell. Would have been better if the rooms had microwaves. The bed was very uncomfortable for me, but was okay for the other two occupants.
The location was perfect and right down the street from the venue! Less than a five minute walk
There was no free breakfast. The rooms were not clean, the sheets and pillowcases had stains on them. One of the workers said there was no stairs.
