Fantastisch hotel, iedereen super vriendelijk. Zalige bedden.
Locatie, was iets minder om ‘s nachts rond te lopen maar Uber helpt daarbij
Good location
My unit has a very big bathroom, but the shower is very small. Wish it can be a full side walk in. Else, it’s good stay.
Very charming architecture, friendly staff, and not your standard hotel feel.
Cool historic building. Nice location within walking distance of lots of things. Pet friendly as well.
The price of parking and the walk with all our luggage.
Convent walking to stadium and to garage.
Everything was excellent. Lobby area was a little too strong of a fragrance but overall we had a great stay.
Within walking distance of Busch stadium, price was a little high, but convenience was worth it. Overall, hotel was nice- I thought the room was lacking for the price. Meals at the hotel restaurant were good, prices high too though.
We did self parking & there was an attempted murder in the parking garage the hotel had us use on Olive St. the first night we stayed. The front desk told us not to walk there at night when we checked in. I'm glad they did.
A beautiful hotel access to many attractions
We arrived and the door was open and would not close yet alone lock. We had to wait for maintenance which caused us to not be able to eat before the baseball game
Location and overall
Valet service…horrible
Dog friendly, loved the cookies at the front desk.
A bit pricey when you have to add on the cost of parking or valet service
Couldn't park in ramp had to park on side street with trailer and bike should have some area for bigger vehicles
I thought the bed was comfortable
I thought that the walls look like they needed to be repainted or repaired. It just made it seem dirty.
There had been a big storm the day we arrived and their computers were down do they were doing everything on paper. Difficult times like this show and all thr staff was pleasant. It is a top rate accommodation (includinga better than averagefutness center) in a great location.
There arent much food and drink at the location-- you need to walk 2-3 blocks. Wasn't a problem for us but I could see this being an issue if weather was a problem.
It was a historic slice of downtown. For people like me who like walking everywhere, it was a good location.
Many of the homeless and other loud behavior was happening near by. Of course the hotel can’t do anything about that, and it’s sad that it exists so close there, but be forewarned that’s the kind of atmosphere that is around the hotel. The cleaning staff did not restock the body wash during our stay, and it ran out the first day we were there (we booked for 2 nights). Accounting thinks it completely normal to charge the whole amount per day of the stay every single day of our stay, meaning by the end of our two night stay we had 3 separate charges showing up on our account, none cancelled, until the actually cancellation some days later. A security deposit is a given, especially in such a gorgeous place. But that seems a bit extreme to me.
Unfortunately would not recommend this hotel. Service here is beyond poor. Overwhelmed front desk staff at checkin, no recognition for Marriott loyalty and lack of follow up from management afterwards. Offered breakfast but beware the complimentary breakfast does NOT include any beverages, no coffee included with complimentary breakfast??? That’s unacceptable and further unacceptable to be passed a bill for $6 coffee afterwards when not told it wasn’t included. Beware, complimentary breakfast coupon specifically states includes gratuity but the waiter tells you that wrong and outdated and please leave an additional tip on the complimentary breakfast. Unique and clever hustle. Dinner in the restaurant was very sub par as well. The menu description was completely wrong for the brown sugar pork chop and what we got was instead a small overcooked chop with just cold barbecue sauce poured over the top. Waitress just shrugged her shoulders and didn’t offer to replace it. Overall very sad experience here. As a loyal lifetime titanium member would recommend staying at a different hotel in downtown St. Louis. The location here is good, perhaps the only positive feedback, yet poor service, dirty outdated room and poor quality food in restaurants along with service staff hustling you for a double tip left us with a poor impression.
This hotel was so comforting and we had an amazing woman at front desk Amanda who made sure my team and I always got our cookies!!
Me and some of my friends were visiting saint louis for a national youth conference. Our rooms were so clean and the housekeeping always restocked when we needed it. All of the hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. More specifically, Amanda was AMAZING!! She always had a smile on her face and helped us with whatever questions we had. She even made sure that we got our cookies at the end of every night we were there! Couldn’t have asked for a better hotel to stay at along with Amanda being the best front desk attendant we could have asked for!!!
Lovely hotel. Spacious, comfortable room. Personable staff. We were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday with ballgames and sightseeing. Hotel is very convenient to stadium - a short walk. Only complaint is that the wi-fi was very spotty, maybe because we were on the 14th floor. We chose to self park, the garage was a block or so away, but cheaper than valet. Overall, a really nice place to stay.
Hotel is great. Really enjoyed our dinner. Sergio is professional and friendly.
The building is BEAUTIFUL. The concierges are AMAZING 😍
There wasn't anything I didn't like!
I enjoyed the valet parking. I was very tired and it was convenient having a restaurant in the facility. I was pleased with everything.
Breakfast was wonderful. Great menu and wonderful service
Would have been nice if they had vending machines or a small area to buy soda or snacks
It’s a gorgeous hotel with an exceptionally friendly staff. Lovely room that was squeaky clean with a comfy bed and nice warm lighting.
It’s an old building, so you can hear your neighbors from time to time through the walls, and since it’s downtown, some strange vent noises woke me up a couple times from the building’s roof next door.
La habitación estaba muy linda
Las almohadas demasiado altas
Johnny was a great waiter, his service was excellent and at all times he was friendly.
Location, price, staff.
Bathrooms and showers. Need to be updated. Just felt icky when I was in the shower. Also the shower heads are horrible
It was very nice, breakfast and service was great
If you have the opportunity to eat at the restaurant, DO IT! And if you want your dinner to be extra you better ask for JANICE because she was incredibly attentive to her guests and the service they receive. Be kind to those who are making your entertainment enjoyable! They are in a service industry and Janice clearly loves her job and customers!
I ate breakfast twice...very good. Nice room. Great location. Loved the cookies
The bed did not support my lower back
Great staff. Decided to stay a second night. Amanda was very accommodating.
Too much fragrance pumped into lobby
Great staff. Amanda was SO accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable.
I don’t care for the fragrance pumped in to lobby—too strong
I want to recognize the exceptional service provided by Amanda at the front desk during my recent stay. From the moment I arrived, she greeted me with a warm smile, genuine kindness, and a level of professionalism that immediately made me feel welcome. What truly set her apart was her willingness to go above and beyond to ensure every aspect of my stay was perfect. She anticipated my needs, provided excellent recommendations, quickly addressed any questions I had, and consistently checked to make sure everything was going smoothly. She even saw us walking downtown when she was walking to her car after her shift and asked if everything was going well. That was truly impressive. Her attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction transformed what would have been a typical hotel stay into a truly memorable experience. In an industry where great service can make all the difference, Amanda exemplifies what 5-star hospitality should be. Her dedication, positive attitude, and genuine care for guests reflect incredibly well on the hotel and deserve special recognition. I would like to add the General Manager, Mr. Newton Kam, was exceptional with handling any issues and providing stellar customer service! He has a true passion for the hospitality industry. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable. Because of this outstanding experience, I will gladly recommend this hotel to others and look forward to staying here again in the future! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cleanliness of room!!! Great!
Ac didn’t work in room
We stayed at the Magnolja for an extended time during Regionals for our daughter. Our group quickly realized Janice was the hidden gem in our experience and every night we looked forward to drinks downstairs where she made us feel welcome and also kept us entertained with her quick wit and conversation. In the memories of our trip, she will be at the top and next time we find ourselves in St Louis, there is no doubt we will return to the Magnolia and to see Janice again!
I had the best time ever just amazing, Ms. Amanda at the front desk was just wonderful she helped me through everything and made my entire stay at the Magnolia hotel the best experience ever Amanda you’re the best thank you so much again
Staff were pleasant and helpful. The complimentary cookies and milk was a fun way to experience a St Louis staple and gave us something to look forward to. The room was clean and the water pressure was nice. I appreciated that soap, shampoo and conditioner were in large bottles to avoid plastic waste.
The door to our room was difficult to open and close - the front desk helped us promptly when the door's deadbolt wouldn't retract and left our room open, but it was still a bit of an odd experience. The toilets flush really loud and intensely that you can hear them in adjacent rooms. The room's temperature was tricky to manage. It said our room was 80* but it felt much cooler and we had to adjust the temperature multiple times during the night to feel consistently comfortable.
One of the cleanest hotels we've been in in a while and the architecture was a beautiful bonus.
In house restaurant had poor service.
Amanda was amazing, kind and very helpful!
Was in St. Louis to support a friend receiving a prestigious award. The staff was friendly, but the experience was otherwise most unpleasant. Our room was not ready on time, and when we later entered the room, the bathroom was filthy. We were then put in a different room, for which our key initially did not work. As a result of these issues, the hotel gave us two vouchers for the hotel restaurant/bar. On the first evening of our two-night stay, we went to the bar to get three bottles of water for our room and to purchase a single drink for another attendee. We used one of the vouchers. When we received our receipt, I pointed out that the voucher had not been applied. The bartender explained that she was busy and would apply the voucher before the charge went through. We just arrived back home, and I checked my credit card's website today. The voucher was never applied, and my credit card was charged in full for the water bottles and drink. On the last morning of our stay, we went to the restaurant for breakfast, along with friends. This was on a Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m., so the restaurant was not crowded. However, they were completely understaffed, and service was incredibly slow. It took forever to receive our food. (One member of our party waited an hour for nothing other than avocado toast.) If ever in St. Louis again, we will NOT be staying here.
The uniqueness of the hotel! It was beautiful.
Mainly the staff. Upon arrival we were told our room wasn’t ready. After waiting patiently for 30 minutes (we were told it would only take 10 minutes), we checked in on our room and it still wasn’t ready. But many people were able to go up to their room?? After I was finally asking her again about our room, she had one ready, but offered no apologies and didn’t seem to care at all. I asked if there was something they could do for the inconvenience and we did get breakfast vouchers, but her attitude was absolutely awful. And for such a beautiful hotel, very disappointing. We avoided her our entire trip!
Kind reception staff
Beautiful older hotel, helpful staff. Excellent Bed! Breakfast was a challenge as they were understaffed and overwhelmed. Next door is another Marriott property with a Starbucks. The Hotel is close to the convention center and walking distance to the Arch and Cardinals baseball. Other than other area hotels, there was virtually no shopping or restaurants. Many boarded up buildings and panhandlers, we didn't feel safe waling the area after dark.
Good location
Nothing
Rather than focus on what went wrong, let me tell you about the problem solver at this hotel. His name is Cenk. He works at the front desk. He’s a gentleman. Very professional and kind. He has a heart for hospitality. He represents that old school hospitality that travelers long for. Always in a coat and tie, he represents a service level rarely seen post pandemic.
Amazing stay! They are so dog friendly, gave my baby boy a ball, some milk ones and a scarf. No pet fees!
Comfy bed and pretty location
Small area to get to and only parking was $55
I’m writing as a Platinum Elite member who has experienced both the highs and lows across your hotel portfolio. Unfortunately, this stay ranks among the lowest. The Magnolia Hotel St. Louis, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel fell well short of expectations for a Tribute property — and, frankly, below the standard of many Courtyard or Residence Inn locations. The most significant issue was the internet. Speeds never exceeded approximately 15 Mbps and were often unstable. For a business traveler, this made it very difficult to work. I received multiple explanations from staff, but the problem remained unresolved throughout my three-day stay. Other concerns: Restaurant/bar service: Clearly understaffed. The staff present were doing their best, but service felt rushed and strained. No first-floor restrooms: An inconvenience, especially for a full-service property. Condition of the property: Noticeable wear throughout — aging paint, visible spots, and general signs of disrepair that detract from the experience. Bathroom maintenance: The tub faucet was loose and leaking significantly, with as much water escaping from the fixture as from the showerhead. Overall atmosphere: Dark, dated, and not aligned with the Tribute Portfolio brand positioning. I also attempted twice to speak with the General Manager and was told I would receive a follow-up call. I never did. At a modest price difference, there are clearly better-maintained and better-managed options in the area. This property does not reflect well on the Tribute Portfolio brand. I’m sharing this feedback in the hope that it leads to meaningful improvements — both for future guests and for the integrity of the brand.
It was very convenient
Could’ve had a better selection for the menu in the restaurant
Needed to stay a night in St. Louis and wanted to be close to the arch for walking purposes. Check in was quick and easy, friendly staff, and they upgraded us as an ambassador elite so we appreciated that. We loved the onsite restaurant/bar Robies - don't miss happy hour. Big plus - dogs stay free. Comfortable rooms and great old building charm. The valet was slow retrieving our truck this morning which is not operated by the hotel - that would be my only area for improvement.
One of the worst experiences I’ve had at a Marriott-branded hotel. I arrived after a very long day and, upon getting into bed, noticed a strong odor as if someone had vomited on the sheets. The pillows were also very uncomfortable. I was unable to sleep the entire night and felt quite uneasy due to the smell. The next morning, I discovered a packet of tomato ketchup on the floor next to my bed—clearly indicating the room had not been properly cleaned. I reported this to the front desk and went to my conference after being assured the room would be thoroughly cleaned. I returned around 1 pm, hoping to rest after a sleepless night, only to be told the room still hadn’t been cleaned. I waited in the lobby for some time and eventually had to return to my conference. When I came back at 6 pm, I was informed the room had been cleaned. However, upon entering, I found the same ketchup packet still on the floor. This confirmed that the room had not been properly serviced. Overall, not only was the initial condition of the room unacceptable, but the lack of follow-through by housekeeping and staff made the situation worse. I effectively lost both a full night’s sleep and an entire day without being able to properly use the room. In addition, I reached out to the General Manager, Newton Kam and expressed my disappointment in the email, to which I have received no response till todate.

We visited this beautiful hotel during a volleyball tournament weekend. The beds were comfy and since was impeccable. Lans made sure we had everything we needed to relax during this hectic weekend and went above and beyond to help us when our travel plans were delayed. Marriott does it again!
What a lot of wonderful history in this landmark building! With wonderful stained glass, and air hockey table and pool table, a big classy bar / restaurant. The service is good and the check-in is speedy fast! As sometimes happens though, the retrofit rooms are cut up into strange shapes, and tend to be a little dark. The bathroom with its small size tub and shower curtain is just okay.
Location and staff were good.
Room was small, room door was very difficult to open, and the dryer and safe didn’t work.
Comfortable
The animals barking, the elevators slow, valet parking was backed up.
The shower was cold. Highly disappointing.
accommodations were good shower was clean
no microwave in room toilet had difficulty flushing
The only things I liked were the beds, pillows, and decor of the lobby and restaurant.
Literally everything else. I waited 55 minutes after calling the valet only to be told they lost the keys to the garage where our keys were held. I saw my car keys along with others just out in the open on the desk UNATTENDED. The hotel smelled like sewage, the elevators were terribly dirty, the staff was rude, my toilet had a fecal stain in it upon arrival. The list literally goes on. This was one of, if not the worst, hotel experience I have ever had. This hotel is incredibly overpriced.
Great hotel! Wicked comfy beds and great shower pressure. The foyer offered a unique aesthetic, pool table and shuffleboard. Also the hotel has an adopt/sponsor a dog program and we loved seeing all the puppy pictures in the common spaces. The continental breakfast was limited. The hotel is a tad dated and would benefit from minor maintenance such as fixing small cracks and stains. Not dirty, just a tad worn. We would stay again!
The atmosphere and the layout with different options for guests to enjoy themselves
We loved the interior of the hotel—it was so charming and welcoming. The location was great, and the happy hour was a nice added bonus. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and kind, making our stay even more enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again.
The staff was very helpful
Rooms had plenty of problems
The ambiance inside was nice. The front desk was good and the dining was really good. The holiday decor made the place beautiful.
Booked through Booking .com instructed to contact Magnolia due to cancellation. Representative failed to return call for two days at which time I decided I would not reach back out to Magnolia for an explanation.
The failure of communication
The room was very nice, comfortable bed and quiet. The hotel is also very dog friendly.
No free parking and it’s a bit expensive for Vallet. The elevators were a bit sketchy and one had blood stains in it.
Nice lobby, and staff.
Beds were uncomfortable. Room was tiny and a bit run down.
Wonderful hotel will book next year for a wedding
Beautiful close to everything
