Staff was so helpful at check in and at breakfast
Had everything you could need
Very nice
You can hear the gym music all night
Clean, working air conditioning and friendly staff willing to help with any request.
Not sure about the privacy glass toilet wall…
The shower flooded the room when you used it. Just needs a shower door/curtain. Lovely shower though!
Check in was good rooms etc and bar sold new beer Modelo
Bar closes early for residents
Nice facilities and beautiful
Ideal for singles and couples but a bit tight for a family. Very little room for a cot
Pub and grill

Bright modern room
Very convenient
Convenient and usually good
I paid for club. The coffee pod machine was broken. I reported it but it wasn’t fixed over my 2 day stay the room wasn’t tidied for day 2. Also no milk nor sugar nor water.
The gourmet burger was insanely delicious
The early close of the bar on a Friday lol
Great location, excellent service and cleanliness to rooms.
Tricky check in with screens, but staff were on hand to help.
Room is clean, beddings are brand new and the room is well insulated from noises and light.
- there’s no minibar - I had to speak to multiple staff just to keep three items in the fridge overnight. And the next day, I was in a rush but had to queue then come back after 7 pm to pick up my left items because the front desk staff are busy. - when I went downstairs for breakfast, I waited exactly where the sign was, two ladies behind the bar waved at me aggressively to come towards them instead of walking to the sign and greet me like any ordinary hotel. Please stop treating your customers as dogs.
Comfortable bed large tv.
Beer prices
Pleasant place to spend your vocation, nice with a swimming pool and gym, rooms are comfy and clean. I'll come back 😄
Quirky bedrooms helpful staff good food in the pub. Leisure area very clean with plenty of amenities

Good location and room works for intended purpose

Had a great stay here, staff were lovely and the facilities were good. Rooms were clean too
Amazing place, I'd come back
Hotel restaurant was a tad expensive
Cleaned, quiet, comfortable. The pool and sauna’s was great
poorly breakfast and the instant coffee…
Unfortunately, we were not very happy with our stay overall. The room was clean, but the air conditioning was leaking, causing water to collect on the floor and mould to start developing, with a strong musty smell throughout the room. We asked to change rooms and the staff arranged this quite quickly, which we appreciated. The pool was clean but very cold, and the bed was by far the best part very comfortable and spacious. Unfortunately, breakfast was disappointing: the food was dry and cold, the eggs and orange juice were poor, and we paid around £17 per person instead of £12 because we hadn’t booked in advance. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, but overall we left feeling disappointed with our experience.
Modern comfortable clean roon, even though the bar area was busy the room room was quiet and no disturbance felt. The hotel is situated in a quiet area with a Waitrose shore very close by and a short walk into Basingstoke centre.
There was a gap between the mattress and bed frame that was difficult to avoid when getting out of bed but as we only stayed one night this didn't pose too much of a problem. If we were stay longer I would have asked for it to be rectified.
Good price and good quality
Was misled by receptionist when checking in, he said he would sort parking fee out when we checked in. Turns out he hadn’t and we may possibly get a parking fine for not paying before checking in 🤬🤬
Great location, plenty of parking, very friendly staff, good atmosphere . All spotlessly clean too.
Not sure about the glass bathroom wall, but it actually worked ok.
Clean, modern, great rooms, loads of facilities

Poor menu
Good bed and bathroom , good breakfast , helpful staff
Did not clean the room one day even though the tag was on the door.
Bright colourful decorsting
Menu isnt much to choose foods
We really liked this hotel. Nice and quiet but within a reasonable walking distance from town. We would definitely go back there.
On site facilities - the pool, sauna and steam room were a welcome suprise upon booking the hotel. On site food and being able to order to your table were also very much welcome. Also ate the buffet style breakfast and found it very tasty. The staff were all friendly, attentive and smarty dressed

It’s close proximity to the town of Basingstoke Very nicely designed interior
The ‘ 24 ‘ hour gym is located on the first floor. On the first night we were given a room on the 2nd floor. The noise was unbearable , we had a very uncomfortable night needless to say with this. This location of the gym was not mentioned to us when we checked in , if it had been we could have avoided such discomfort 😳. I am coeliac , each time I ate at the hotel I had to fill out a card stating my allergen of gluten. It became such a chore as we stayed 5 nights. I have never seen this before in my almost 20 years of being a coeliac. I do understand though that the hotel were perhaps being a bit ‘ over cautious ‘ with my dietary requirement.. , but 🤷♀️. I was unable to receive basic gluten free bread as I would have preferred. A gluten free roll was offered. The signing of the card each day in fact made me feel even more anxious about my food while there. I feel more effort could be made to accommodate for those who have an intolerance to gluten.
Comfortable and clean
Check in on touchscreen was slow with too many questions. Noisy rooms above the gym ( seems like a common complaint)
Very modern

Nice rooms, simple, clean, functional. Restaurant and bar are nice. Gyms well equipped. Staff were excellent and responsive. When we had an issue it was resolved immediately.
The 2nd floor is essentially uninhabitable. Constant extremely noisy pulsating music reverberates through a large number of the 2nd floor rooms from 6am till the gym closes at 10-11pm. You'll struggle to get any sleep outside these hours if you stay on this floor. Looks to me like the bulk of the nose is conducted by the AC system? 🤷 It's a shame, nice hotel otherwise. Just very poor design and lack of acoustic damping mean an entire floor of rooms essentially wasted. Looks like Village hotels are all a similar design... I wonder if this is the case for all of them 🤔
It’s a great location however the 2nd floor is always loud either from the bar or the gym
See above and the view was grim
Great location and really great room
I’ve stayed here before many times and it was good the location for my business is perfect
During my stay the room was not cleaned one and the lack of a toilet brush was problematics. I asked the staff about having this addressed but still it didn’t happen. Very disappointing. There was an organisation staying and they had breakfast laid on early for them. I like to have my breakfast early when it’s a buffet as it fresh. But the food was dried out by the time I got there
Airco
De gym en zwembad waren erg tof. Bed was zeer comfortabel! Alles erg schoon, goed verzorgd. Personeel erg behulpzaam.
Staff helpful and friendly. Love the decor to room and hotel. Clean room
Room felt small. If room was bigger it would benefit from having a mini fridge in the room
The ambience of the hotel from arriving to leaving was great, the staff, the room and the food were all great.

The staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming. The aircon in the room was excellent and the bed was very comfortable.
My only issue was the car parking, When i arrived it was difficult to get a space. I also struggled to pay on line. i then found out it was included in my booking so in affect i paid twice. The guy did put a credit on my room of £5 however i didn't use my room number to order food.
I was on the second floor directly above the gym, until the gym closed all I could hear was thumping gym music, weights being dropped etc. This then resumed early in the morning when the gym reopened.
I will never stay here again - very disappointed.
Location and modern facilities
The gym plays very loud music up to 11pm in the evening, and starts up again around 7am. For those who are after an early night sleep, are very tired from a long day of travel (like I was), or have children, this may be a problem. I was staying on the second floor. A previous visit I was on the fifth floor and couldn’t hear the gym, so perhaps something is needed to improve the acoustic insulation - or ensure the gym turns its music down at respectable levels after a certain time in the evening.
Good location with fast and friendly staff at check-in. Rooms were clean and tidy with plenty of facilities. In particular, the Air-Con was great. The Breakfast was First-Class with plenty of choice.
Could do with a second chair or stool.
Ultra modern, facilities seemed very good the Gym and pool although I didn’t use them I had a look. I booked in plenty of time and the price was excellent. I actually really love this hotel. It’s the second time I’ve stayed there and the rooms are superb.

Electric car charger
Staff were helpful
Too small room.
It was our second visit, and we were just as impressed as our first visit. On arrival, we were met by George, a real gem, and a real asset to the village organisation, who booked us in, sorted our parking, and gym visit..... Room is clean, fresh, and funky. Staff are all amazing. Drinks in the bar are reasonably priced. Breakfast was superb. We love this hotel, it gives us a real holiday vibe, as if we were abroad. Keep it up, your providing a top notch service.... We will be back
Breakfast was brilliant, plenty of choice, location was ideal
Bedroom was to small for king bed ,felt a bit to enclosed. Heard the gym pumping at 6 30 in the morning which was not ideal ,overall an ok stay ,great staff great bar and breakfast was 10 out of 10
It’s clean and convenient
The fact how loud the gym was at 7 am and disrupted my rest
If you are not after an early night or a lay in, then this hotel is ok. Noise from gym is like being in a nightclub. Stops about 10.30pm and starts again at 6.30am.
I had a great stay at Village Hotel Basingstoke. I was there for a night and unfortunately I lost my car keys somewhere on the premises. The housekeeping staff and manager helped me searched my room, the receptionist was kind and empathetic, and I later contacted the hotel and they had found and kept my keys safe! The manager Alex was a great communicator and told me how to get the keys back. Although it was a stressful end to the stay (of my own doing), it was made endlessly better by the fact that the hotel staff had all been incredibly helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone - you'll be in safe hands during (and after) your stay!
Facilities are good, nice to have a swimming pool available.
Room was a large bed in a small room which was dark, only natural light was through the bathroom door so it was a bit like sleeping in a cupboard.
Perfect location, Very warm and inviting welcome. Spotlessly clean and modern. Comfatable. Great facilities .wonderful and varied breakfast.
Absolutely nothing
The staff were lovely and very helpful The rooms were clean and comfortable
Our rooms were above the gym. We asked to move but not allowed to move to the higher floors. Music started in the gym at 7am even at weekends. The gym is 24/7 and you could hear heavy weights being dropped from 5:30am. This is not appropriate for a hotel, we weren’t wanting to wake up at 5:30 as it was a leisure trip for our son’s wedding. We were there Thursday to Sunday, went to bed early on Thursday after a long drive but the music didn’t go off until 10.30pm. The sleep interruption had an impact on our enjoyment of the whole weekend. Nobody needs music in a gym, people have their own EarPod music or prefer silence. I suggest you keep the music to 9-5 if it’s necessary at all
Very pleased with this hotel. It’s fairly central to Basingstoke (about 15 minutes’ walk from shops and railway station) but with plenty of free parking for guests arriving by car. The room (super king) was quite small but the bed was massive and extremely comfortable - probably one of the best I’ve ever slept in! We didn’t hear much noise from other guests but the music in the gym (directly beneath us) was quite loud from around 7am. My main negative point was the weird see-through panel between bedroom and en suite. This is awkward enough if you’re staying with a partner or good friend, but even less ok should you be with a work colleague or not so close friend. Two of the panels can be made opaque at the touch of a button but the end one stays see-through and there is a gap around the sliding door, so not especially private for whomever is carrying out their morning ablutions. The pool - although not particularly large - has a couple of 25m lanes and there is a nice spa area beside the pool with hot tub, sauna, steam room and cold plunge. The Starbucks in the foyer was a nice addition and the outside seating provided a nice place to relax whilst enjoying a coffee on a sunny day. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.
Great facilities and friendly staff.
Convenient location, nice and quirky, nice staff, great gym. All round perfect place!

The gym was exceptional top of the range from weights to cardio CrossFit and hyrox . The pool and spa was nice & clean

Modern clean hotel, not the best food in the world but an OK stay
Access to Sky TV was an added bonus. Ample tea, coffee & milk sachets in the room. Shower was heavenly. Plentiful choice for breakfast. All of the staff I interacted with were lovely.
Vegetarian sausages were advertised as available but were not included as part of the breakfast buffet. I'm presuming I had to request. Housekeeping knocked on my door at 0950 to enquire as to when I was checking out! Check out is 1100. I didn't appreciate the hurry up. Location of the hotel is a little way from the town centre, at the end of a row of half empty & unused office blocks. I ended up getting a cab back to the hotel after a gig at the Anvil as I didn't feel safe to walk alone. The towels in the bathroom were a little thin & threadbare; I did expect better quality.
staff are always so friendly and helpful. free parking is a definite bonus. decent check out time. there's a starbucks on site. hot breakfast buffet is good.
not many vegan options in the restaurant for the evening. but town is close enough to order takeaway or go out. adding vegan sausages at breakfast would be a good addition. veggies and vegans can eat vegan sausages, but vegans can't eat veggie sausages (but they don't have either). also swapping out the butter for a vegan one, which everyone can eat. used the gym, and the machines are all new and high tech but i didn't really fully understand how to use them. which is not really a hotel problem.
Everything.

I found a twizler on the bed when I arrived
Meal was good selection fantastic
Nice hotel with spa
I had a room next to some kind of engineering room and the sound it was making was quite annoying
Enjoyable stay
Location and bar, restaurant. Comfortable beds.
Stayed two nights here and would highly recommend for a short stay. We were welcomed by the amazing Zara at reception, she is wonderful, very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and welcoming. Quite an achievement considering she has to stand up all day, not sure why she can’t have a seat? Anyway we had a club room, really nice, super comfortable bed, nice shower, funky furnishings. The room does have limited storage so any longer than a two day stay could be problematic . Would def stay here again.
Good clean hotel
Shower and toilet situation
Quick check in
Rooms a little small
Clean modern and lovely air conditioning

Excellent location. Room and beds very comfortable Spotlessly clean throughout
We had one irate staff member who gave us menus to order from the pub& grill , came back after 5 minutes, took the menus back and said kitchen now closed- disappointing
Good air con, clean, tidy with excellent facilities.
No issues
My partner and I had an absolutely amazing stay here this July! :) The entire experience was first-class from the moment we arrived. The staff went above and beyond to make our visit special, showing genuine care and excellent customer service. Our room was comfortable, and we thoroughly enjoyed the great breakfast and the pool facilities. Highly recommend Village Hotel Basingstoke for a perfect couples' getaway—we will definitely be returning!
Great facilities, parking great with fast electric chargers. Good bar area and Starbucks was a bonus.
Nice modern rooms which were quiet.
Absolutely everything was immaculate. And the Air Conditioning in this heat is an absolute luxury I didn't think I deserved at the amazing price point. I'm so thankful to everyone for the amazing services, room service, breakfast, cleaning, kindness, everything.
While a satellite TV is amazing and I could watch the Silverstone Grand Prix and was extremely happy about that, the TVs seem to fail at screen mirroring and there are no apps like Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube ect. So I couldn't watch any of my own movies when I wanted to.
I booked 2 double rooms & both were disabled rooms!
Very good location. Absolutely amazing staff and facilities
I love visiting this place so much. The stuff are so welcoming and the building is very clean and tidy. Paige and Ebs in Starbucks are such lovely people and make the best drinks. Would 100% recommend to anyone staying in Basingstoke or just popping in for a coffee. 5 stars!
Clean, comfortable, and breakfast was great. Having a Starbucks there was such a nice added bonus too!
N/A
Welcoming, clean, cool, modern. Staff were so friendly and helpful .
I forgot my phone charger cable and as absolutely everything relies on on s phone - ordering food , keeping in touch with others in the hotel, etc. It’s a big disadvantage for customers not to have an in room communication devise or access to a charging cable should you forget or lose yours during your stay.
This place is like a second home, the staff always make me feel so welcome, the Baristas in Starbucks are the best (Ebony, Paige, Andi, Klaudia and Sam) .. the pub and grill has a great menu and there is plenty of outdoor seating for when the weather is good!!!
Modern, clean, comfortable , walkable to a Waitrose, a Vue cinema, pubs and restaurants. The pool & gym were excellent.
Nothing not to like
Trendy decor , this was our second stay at this hotel.
Room 323 smelt of damp when entering, possibly the shower leaking somewhere. Shame parking is only free for members.
Good food .comfortable
Nothing
Checked in at 5pm and the reception were professional but very robotic and not really welcoming so not a great first impression. The room is very modern with 2 USB ports next to the bed. The bed was very comfortable and had an excellent sleep. The TV is 65 inch Samsung which has Sky Sports. No apps for YouTube or no option to Chromecast from your phone. The TV picture quality is excellent. The air conditioning was excellent but kept switching off so I guess it’s motion controlled so if you’re not moving in the room it switches off. The bathroom was small but has an excellent lighted shaving mirror. The shower offers both rainfall and hand held shower option. The water pressure is good too. Tea and Coffee in the room. The room and bathroom are very clean but I didn’t have a window in the room and only a small window in the bathroom which looked out onto a wall. The room wasn’t clean during my two night stay and I didn’t have any Do Not Disturb sign on the door. I guess they must have just forgotten to service my room. The WiFi is free and fast and doesn’t drop out. Vodafone and O2 had no service in the room I was in but you could make a phone call even though it only had one bar of signal strength. No fridge or safe in the room which was disappointing. For people who want to stay fit there is a nice gym. The is a Starbucks Coffee in the hotel and an amazing Waitrose Supermarket about 0.6 miles away which even has a cafe. The main shopping mall is about 1 mile away and is about a 20 minute walk which would be ok if the hill was not so steep. You can of course get an Uber. The Haymarket theatre where I was going to see Jimmy Nail in the evening was about 20 minutes walk from the hotel. The location of the hotel is a long way from the station and up a very steep hill and if you’re carrying heavy bigs it’s a tough walk. The area is very quiet and safe. Finally the staff I spoke to were friendly during my stay and only check in was a bit unwelcoming as stated. I would give the hotel 5 stars if my room had been cleaned and the check in was more welcoming and not so robotic.
Far too many negatives when I stayed here for 2 nights. Staff very disinterested Room was not cleaned on 2nd day so I had rubbish in my room and nothing else was replenished ,am I supposed to walk half a mile to Waitrose to buy some toilet tissue! I could have called front desk if there had been a phone in the room. Not a budget priced hotel when the standards are definitely Budget with a capital B.
Location was good & the hotel was beautiful
Check out time
Request help from my room - had to use a QR code rather than “call down to reception” , AI bot said they would put me in touch with a member of staff. Screen shots to show how long i waited over an HOUR before giving. Very bad service, little support for lone travellers. For this reason, I could not recommend Village hotels unfortunately
Everything-just perfect

Your greeting staff where fab.
I have stayed in the village Basingstoke for the first time I’ve stayed in the village hotels previously in other locations but not for a few years what I found out when I stayed at the village in Basingstoke was the staff a faultless they’ve been supportive. They’ve been informative. They’ve been very professional. They’ve been very helpful with all of our queries questions the room is lovely. It’s clean. It’s modern. We have everything that we need in here. I have no issues with the quality of service. I have no issues with the quality of the room or the hotel what I have an issue with is that we went down on a Saturday evening to order some food and what I found was that there is a serious lack of options for vegetarians and also a lack of proper information showing on the menu themselves so vegetarians are shown with a V to indicate that they are indeed vegetarian what I’d like to highlight at this point is they have no indications for anything gluten-free they have no indications for anything that contains gluten or doesn’t contain gluten. They also have no references for anything vegan for these two group groups of people which I find in this DNA are serious lack of judgement on whoever created the menu. What I also found is that there is a lack of consistency with even the V that is there in the menu certain options do indicate that it’s beef of vegetarian however what it doesn’t show is in any of the desserts there is no vegetarian option so does this mean that it’s not vegetarian or does this mean they just didn’t bother putting the V in the desserts which I have come across before another restaurants but it leaves you wondering what that is? Some of the descriptions as well in the Options that you have available in the main menu for example there’s one option for pasta in the entire menu now when you read the description meat is an added extra so if you pay extra you can have chicken added to the pasta. Does this mean that without that added extra? It’s actually vegetarian because it’s not indicated on the menu. It’s not very easy to understand which way round the menu works the main issue I have is that there is no indication of what’s available gluten-free or even gluten-free options from those that are available on the menu there is also as I mentioned no indication at all for anything. If you’re a vegan I’m vegetarian I had in the entire menu which is about five pages long five options so there is one option per page for me to be able to choose from one of those Options was chips loaded chips that’s hardly a balanced meal. Another option was nachos again that’s that’s hardly a balanced meal to be able to offer somebody another option was some sort of Rice beetroot burger a margarita pizza so these are not particularly great options. There was no options for Curry. There was no options for wraps. There was no options in the seasonal menu for anything vegetarian even their side salad isn’t vegetarian the remainder of the sides that you can pick do indicate that they are vegetarian. I just thought that was quite telling that he can’t even get a side salad so some serious thought needs to go into the labelling in the menu. Some serious thought needs to go into the corporate decisions and choices made for alternative options for those of us who are vegetarian who are vegan or having intolerances and dietary requirements. I mean no option whatsoever on their seasonal menu. I just think it’s really really poor in this state and age to be so blinked and where’s the inclusivity? So quite disappointed in the options that were in the menu but to end this on a good note the quality of the food that came out was very high. I had the margarita pizza and it was one of the nicest pizzas I’ve had in such a long time, my husband who is gluten-free selected from the seasonal menu after the staff checked their binder with intolerances listed and he had a set of skewers and again the quality of those chicken skewers was outstanding and the Service from everybody has just been lovely, so really big shout out to all the staff
The air con in thos heat..lol. Everywhere clean.
