Everyone was so friendly and helpful
Nothing
The property is located at the beachfront and is exceptionally beautiful!
We loved everything.
We would like to sincerely thank Mr. Luis Angel Chan for his kindness, patience, and professionalism. We had an issue during our stay, and he handled it with great understanding and made sure we felt well taken care of. His excellent attitude truly made a difference in our experience. A special thank you to the Club 91 team, especially Chef Luis, for the wonderful service and delicious food. We truly appreciate everyone who made our stay so enjoyable!
Swimming pool
Renovation works very noisy
L’hôtel possède tout ce qu’il faut pour passer un bon séjour l’équipe est au petit soins, top
La piscine chauffée est peut être le seul défaut
Amazing property, access to beaches, great service
Restaurants can be better. Breakfast service is overpriced and lacks attentive service.
Mi è piaciuto tutto, il personale gentilissimo le camere pulite, il resort molto bello
Mi è piaciuto tutto
I had to "lend" a 365 euros deposit at my arrival, in case i break anything or consume anything from their mini bar, i didn't know about this policy. This money i was told would find it's way back to my account when i would leave. I harass an employee when i checked out because he didn't seem to know anything about it. He just found for all evidence a poor piece of paper with the amount written by hand on it and told me that my refund would take 3 to 5 days. I learnt by an email days later that it'll take up to 17 days. And here i am 18 days later, still waiting.
The entire property is amazing, from the pools to the restaurants and especially the staff.
The view from the room was amazing, the food was great and the staff is very helpful!
Beautiful week at the JW Marriott with family! Despite all of the “beautification” in process, we had a wonderful time on our annual vacation. The best is that the pool area is not being renovated, so you can enjoy your vacation with all of the pool staff, like Manuel and the other waiters. The breakfast staff was wonderful, along with the bellman. Thank you for taking good care of our little family this week!
This hotel is undergoing a substantial renovation starting July 2026. Not sure when it ends. The hotel does not inform customers about this, so you only find out when you arrive. This negative surprise was a big topic among many of the guests when we were there. The main entrance and lobby are closed by plastic covers, and drilling noise makes it difficult to talk - even with the front desk staff - while the work is going on. We had significant noise around our rooms and workers with all kind of tools were everywhere aroubnd the resort. Walkways are closed and so is one of the restaurants. Several elevators are inoperative, leading to very long waiting times ans riding times. The hotels does not offer any relevant compensation, so be prepared to pay full price for a massively disturbing experience.
We had a short but sweet stay at the JW Cancun. We had major flight delays and unfortunately missed our first day of our trip, however, the JW (specifically Angel) went above and beyond to help make up for that lost day of our trip and we couldn’t be more grateful. We did Club 91 which I 10/10 recommend. Eduardo from Club 91 was an absolute gem to see everyday. He couldn’t be a better human, he brightened our day every time we interacted with him! Same with chef Luis in Club 91. They brought us so much joy on our little vacay there! The service was top notch. The food was excellent. We can’t wait to return to the JW Cancun! Thank you for everything.
We only spent 3 days at the JW after we came from Planet Hollywood adult scene. I wish we would have stayed longer at the JW. We booked Club 91 and it was well worth it. The food was fantastic each and every meal every day. The pools were never crowded and the beach had a little Sargasm but we were able to go into the ocean to swim. We will be going back next year for a longer stay. It was soooo peaceful and relaxing
The hotel property is very clean and understood there may be some construction but found to be more construction that expected when booking through Chase Travel. Main hallways are diverted and elevators are closed for the construction. Our biggest issue was 2-3 weeks prior to the trip we reached out to the hotel concierge that directed us to the travel agent to book an excursion. From the hotel concierge we were sent a brochure for excursions and told to contact Destination Services Excursions at destinationservicesexcursionsmx@tui.com to which we did and were put in contact with the contact that is located within the hotel. I took a screen shot of the excursion that my son and I wanted to go on for the Tulum Experience which is visiting the ruins, mayan village, swimming turtle beach and swimming in an underwater cave (cenote). Only until we were picked up and halfway on the 1.5 hour trip was I notified by the guide that I was booked only to see the Tulum ruins. Which I would not have spent 3 hours in a bus for a 1-hour tour had I known when booking. When I returned to the hotel which my wife had already notified them of the issue, they asked that I wait for the sales rep that booked the trip to resolve the issue. Upon my meeting I received excuse after excuse on the mix up and it was obvious they were not willing to credit the trip or resolve the issue both with Destination Services Excursion and the JW Marriott Cancun concierge service who initially sent me the brochure. Instead of owning up to the mistake they would only continue to make excuses on how I misinterpreted the communication. Sadly, this is a nice property, but I would not visit this property again.
Exceptional service!! Rafael & Alfonso were AMAZING!!!
Thanks to Axel at 750, it was a great experience he genuinely was interested in make our staying memorable. All the time checking on us making sure we have what we need. Thank you so much!
I have been to the JW Cancun several times over the years. I can honestly say every time is better than the last. I just returned from my latest visit 6 day visit. The service and staff are second to none. The food is fantastic. The hotel is spotless. I am a lifetime Titanium Member with Marriott. I have been to properties all over and have spent more than a 1,300 nights in Marriott Hotels. This hotel is hands down my favorite. I am already looking forward to going back.
Great visit!! Freddy and Ignacio at the lobby bar were amazing! Benjamin At the pool bar was fantastic! Also, Chef Augusta was awesome!! Overall the entire experience was great! Thanks JW for such a great vacation! Your entire staff was amazing.
The JW Marriott is a wonderful vacation destination! From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. The lobby bar is a great place to unwind, with fun and friendly bartenders. Freddy and Ignacio make the best drinks, and Russell is fantastic too. The live music adds the perfect touch and creates a lively, enjoyable atmosphere each evening. Highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a beautiful resort with excellent service and great entertainment
Absolutely loved our stay here! The winding pool, the pristine grounds, the gorgeous room, everything was perfect. Over the top service and stunning views everywhere you look. Gustino’s was delicious. The gym is impressive as well. Very quiet and spacious resort, barely any children around. We had a wonderful time and would recommend.
I don’t know where to begin. This hotel is 11/10 on everything. We love the atmosphere, the exceptional service provided, the food qualify, the pools, etc. Guillermo Canto is the glue of this place. Too many other superb staff to mention.
Another great stay at a great property. Alejandra in guest services and Fabiola in guest services took care of some special things for us to celebrate a birthday. We had a beautiful special cake and stunning flowers as well. Lourdes (Lou Lou) greeted us for breakfast every day and Javier served us on the patio and did a fabulous job. The breakfast buffet here is wonderful and all of the servers are smiling and eager to help. They insist on carrying your plates back to your table and ferrying drinks to you from the buffet as well. Julio in the outside restaurant could not be more pleasant and was speedy delivering food and cool drinks to our cabana. Javier and William provide stellar service in the cabanas and are always checking on your ice buckets and replenishing it throughout the day and checking in. My husband and I come here a couple of times a year to relax and this property is the place for that! There are multiple restaurants on site that serve a variety of food, so many that if you don't want to leave the property at all you don't have too! The pool area is huge and there is usually no need to get up at the crack of dawn and put towels out like you may do at some properties. As a matter of fact, as you approach the pool Javier and William will be at your service to find chairs to your liking, sun or shade and get your towels laid out in perfect order and offer their assistance for anything else you might need. They even have a collection of books discarded by other guests if you want to borrow one and plenty of ice water that is self serve. This property is perfect for couples or even families as it is beautifully maintained and the people that work here are so kind and eager to make your stay as relaxing as possible. I can't recommend it enough.
We chose this hotel at the last minute while looking for some downtime during our trip to America, and it turned out to be an excellent decision. We stayed for 5 days and had a wonderful experience. We booked using American Express, which came with a number of added benefits, including access to Club 91 on the 14th floor. This was a real highlight, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with unlimited tea, coffee and alcoholic drinks throughout the day. Although we also enjoyed several other of the hotel's restaurants and the pool bar, Club 91 was perfect when we wanted something quick, relaxed and included. While a few areas of the hotel are beginning to show their age, our room had been very well refurbished and was very comfortable. The hotel was clearly built with luxury in mind, using high-quality materials, and that sense of quality still shines through. The staff were exceptional from start to finish—friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming. The maid service was daily and the room was always made up while we were out. That's always a nice touch. There is an excellent choice of restaurants, the pool area is spacious and there were always plenty of sunbeds available during our stay. Pool service was excellent, and having direct access to the beach was another bonus. We visited during seaweed season, and unfortunately there is no escaping the sargassum (seaweed) that affects much of Mexico's Caribbean coastline. It's a real shame. However, the hotel works incredibly hard to clear it each day, and the beach was noticeably better maintained than many others we visited further along the coast. We also loved the gym and spa, both of which were well equipped and immaculately maintained. There is a shop too where you can buy pizza, water, drinks, snacks, sandwiches, gifts etc. which was another nice thing to have access to. The concierge team was excellent, and it's just a short taxi ride to the Hotel Zone, where you'll find plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. It wasn't really our scene, but it was nice to visit a couple of times and to do some shopping and eat away from the hotel. Overall, if you're looking for a relaxing, well-run hotel with excellent facilities and outstanding service for a family holiday, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. We left with very happy memories and will gladly return if ever we return to Cancun. .
Everyone has been so hospitable but Julio R provided the best beachside service. 10/10 would recommend him. He’s patient, kind and honest.
Alfredo was great! Excellent service (: Had a great time & good food
This is our second time here and the service and food has been some of our favorite. We love Alfredo and his friendly and sweet service he made sure everything was perfect and very attentive.
We recently stayed at this motel for five days. The view was beautiful, and the property itself was very nice. We truly enjoyed the scenery and many aspects of our stay. However, there were several issues that affected our experience. While tipping is common and appreciated, at times we felt uncomfortable because some employees seemed overly focused on receiving tips. One situation that stood out was at the pool, where an employee stood nearby watching us for an extended period of time without appearing to be working, which made us feel uncomfortable. We also noticed that our room only had a half-used box of tissues when we arrived, and it ran out by the second day. Small details like this should be addressed to improve guest comfort. Another disappointment was the cost of food. Considering the price of the stay, we believe breakfast should have been included. The breakfast prices were very high, and many items throughout the property seemed significantly overpriced. In addition, some areas of the motel were not as clean as we expected. Overall, while the location and views were wonderful, improvements in customer service, cleanliness, room supplies, and pricing would make the experience much better for future guests
Alfredo was so amazing...the food & drinks were excellent! This is one of my favorite vacation spots in Cancun hands down.
My wife and I traveled to the JW Marriott Cancun to celebrate our birthdays and an anniversary. The property was beautiful and well maintained. The staff was even better. Naming a few - Gustavo, Gustav, Hidalgo, Jorge, Stefan, Beatrice, Eliza, Juan, Viktor, Julio and Aluaro. The hospitality was Workd Class. We have scheduled to go back next year and can’t wait.
Of all the hotels I have ever been to, this hotel has had the best service ever. The staff are absolutely fantastic, so attentive, friendly, the restaurants here even for hotel restaurants are FANTASTIC. The breakfast in particular and the lunch out by the pool. Even the swimming pools here are open all throughout the night which is normally rare, but the hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous. Couldn’t have enjoyed my holiday more and the hotel was a MASSIVE reason for that
Only thing I can say is it’s a bit of a long walk down to the main party area, though it is still walkable (just long in the heat). But if I came back tomorrow with this in mind, I would still book this hotel as I can’t imagine getting any better than this
Breakfast was fresh and great quality options. Service ans drinks by the pool amazing as well.

إطلالة رائعة على المحيط ،نظافة الفندق ، الموظفون لطيفون جداً
الفطور متواضع جدا مقابل فخامة الفندق
Clean and room was a decent size
The receptionist tried to double charge us taxes and extra fees upon checking in. Only when we questioned the amount discrepancy, they corrected the amount.
Just top notch from the moment you enter the doors
Not much other than an extremely rowdy conference or team group at the pool. Not respectful of others
Excellent stay with outstanding service. I found the JW Marriott Hotel & Resort in Cancun to be a high-quality hotel with excellent accommodation and outstanding facilities. The room was very spacious and comfortable, beds were very comfortable, the air conditioning was effective and kept the temperature just right throughout our stay. Our room had a beautiful sea view, which was amazing to wake up to every morning. There a several pool areas which are well serviced for food and drink. The beach front was good but at the time we stayed there were some seaweed on the beach which were cleared often and also the waves a bit strong but ok to still enjoy the water - generally lovely to hang around the beach. Breakfast was very good, with fresh fruit and a wide selection of buffet options to choose from. We had dinner at the hotel on three of the six nights we stayed, and each of the restaurants we tried was very good. We also visited several restaurants in the surrounding area, which were excellent and gave us a great experience of Mexican fusion cuisine. Water and snacks were provided in the room at no extra charge. A minor issue was that some bar items were mistakenly added to our bill, although we had not used these items. However, this was quickly rectified by the staff. What really stood out was the exceptional service. The hotel staff were consistently professional, welcoming, and always willing to help. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend this luxurious hotel.
Nothing.
It was not included in the room rate
Breakfast was too expensive
El personal de seguridad ne trato sumamente te mal y grosero cuando yo he sido un muy buen cliente de JW Marriott.....muy majaderos !!!
Attention in club level
Nothing all good
While the property is nice, its faux-luxury aesthetic is absurdly overpriced for what it is. The food options in particular on site are obscene.
Beautiful hotel, impeccable service, and the nicest employees. I can’t say enough ! The food was amazing, the drinks were delicious and overall it’s just a beautiful property. My only gripe is that the elevators were super slow during the week we were there and eventually stopped working altogether. Besides that we can’t complain! Everything was easy and we had an amazing time!
TODO ME ENCANTO , MUCHAS GRACIAS!!!!
LA VERDAD NO TENGO NINGUNA QUEJA, TODO ESTUVO EXCELENTE
die lage, kinderfreundlich, sehr grosses buffet, restaurant, spa

We had an incredible stay at the JW. The hotel had everything we needed, and then some. Breakfast buffet every morning was incredible and the staff were so great. The pools and beach area were perfect for our large family, including young children. Julio R and Jorge served us at the pool for several days and were kind, courteous and attentive to our needs. Julio R’s mezcalitas were on point! We hope to be back :)
De tudo
De nada
My wife and I came here for a long weekend to defrost and decompress. This place was the perfect choice. We spent the whole time by the pool overlooking the ocean, reading books, taking a dip, and sipping on Pina Coladas. Everything is super clean and well-maintained. There is even an adults-only pool area where we stayed the whole time--with a swim up bar as well as service to each person at their loungers. Our package included a free wine-tasting, body scrub product from the spa, and free cocktails. There is also a complementary guacamole bar each afternoon in the lobby. What really sets JWM apart is the staff. Everyone smiles and says hello and goes out of their way to make the experience great: front desk staff, porters, servers, housekeeping, etc. After a few days, a few of them even knew our names! We left only one time to go to dinner at a restaurant across the way. Otherwise, there is a wide variety of places to eat as well as a snack/pizza place. The food at each place was wonderful. I would definitely come back to JWM Cancun.
This property is not a 5 star resort. It’s is nice but if not a 5 star. For the price I expected a little more. Staff was wonderful.
We had not been to the JW in a couple of years- The minute we walked into the lobby-the feeling of "Welcome Home" came over us. Miguel checked us into our room- He was delightful and courteous. I had mention we just booked this trip the night before and it was my birthday. He wished my a Happy Birthday and asked if he could send something special to our room. I replies with a "YES" He thanked me for my Titanium status. Every team member/staff in the Hotel would call me by my name and thank me for my status. The Breakfast Team- Eliza and Manuel and the rest went above and beyond to make us feel Welcomed. We had dinner one night on property-Bravio- the Spanish Restaurant. The service was exceptional. The Lamb Chops were cooked to perfection. All the servers at the Adult area were constantly checking on us thru out the day-mine you the Hotel was full and very busy, they were on the move constantly. The Nachos and Fish Tacos were fabulous. Thank you Marriott for making my Birthday Special!!! We will be back soon
We are staying here now with our 3 young children (3,6,&7) it has been an amazing experience. But there was a server at breakfast who has made our trip. Ricardo went the extra mile for us in every way, from helping our kids at the brunch buffet so my husband and I could focus on our own plates, to refills before we needed to ask, complimentary this or that, helping before we had to ask for help, and overall kindness. The little things are the big things. Thank you, Ricardo!!
Nice resort, rooms have been updated but the rest of the hotel is older. Pool is great, nice loungers with a ton of shade and best of all, the pool is heated! It was probably at around 88 degrees at all times!
Hidalgo & Jorge R are truly the best! Great service and better conversation. These guys single handedly make me want to comeback! Top notch service and better genuine people. It I was Marriott I would have these gentleman in leadership roles! True AMAZING people. Make sure you look for them during your next stay!
This is a great hotel property with a staff to match! The hotel has spacious rooms with great views of the ocean and pool area. The hotel has numerous dining options from casual to elegant. Nearby are other great dining options with great views and food. We were particularly impressed with the friendly and professional staff. This was our third visit to the hotel and we will return!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Incredible Stay at JW Marriott Cancun! Our stay at the JW Marriott Cancun was truly unforgettable. The resort is absolutely beautiful, and from the moment we checked in, the customer service was outstanding. Every interaction felt warm, genuine, and focused on making our experience special. We booked a room with Club 91 access, and it was worth every moment. The entire Club 91 team consistently went above and beyond. A huge thank‑you to Eduardo, Krystal, Mario, Francisco, Camila, and Franko—each of them made us feel welcomed and cared for. They were attentive, engaging, and always ensured we had everything we needed. Club 91 elevated our stay in every way, and the staff truly made the experience exceptional. We will definitely be returning next year. Highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for luxury, relaxation, and top‑tier service.
Wonderful hotel in beautiful Cancun and most importantly, excellent service. Jacet was the main fellow who waited on our every need by the pool. The others were also attentive. The food ordered by the pool, the breakfasts, and the Speakeasy were our favorite restaurants. Delicious and choices galore. We also enjoyed the lobby bar the bar tenders, and our 2 favorite servers were Brenda and (cannot recall her coworkers name). We also rented a pool cabana one day it was a relaxing experience with spectacular views of the beautiful GULF OF MEXICO 🇲🇽 ❤️❤️
I’ve stayed here multiple times over the years and it’s always been wonderful. This time we were celebrating my husband’s 40th Birthday. The staff made him feel so specifical throughout our stay - acknowledging his birthday throughout our stay with treats and warm wishes. The hotel is pretty. The staff and service is outstanding. Very friendly and nice - not in a “fake” customer service-y way, but they were all very genuinely nice and friendly. We had a great time and look forward to staying here whenever we’re in Cancun. I should mention I have previously stayed at both Hilton Resorts, and The Fiesta Grande Americana in Cancun on previous work trips and the JW Marriott blows them all out of the water every time.
Club 91 is a must. Service is top notch along with a great breakfast, lunch and dinner every day - food was outstanding almost every day - well worth it! One of the best I have seen. I am platinum but didn’t quite understand what level got access and what didn’t - seemed like a mix talking with others. Disappointing was the pool and chair availability - it was full every day and had to go to the beach some days. Went to Marriott for Mikados which I have done every year but will never go back again - quality of meat was not great - one person at our table even asked if it was pork! Very light colored and didn’t even taste like a good beef like in the past. If they are going to have paying customers over there, they should either step it back up or offer one for all inclusive and one for paying - so disappointed. I always take a group over and everyone was dissatisfied this year. Hope something changes before next year! Experience at JW was good otherwise.
nice clean facility
food at lunch was not good
Great service, well maintained facilities. Kindness of the mexican people is second to none. Great service at the Beachwalk provided by Maria Rojas, Cesar, Amado and Jorge.
Our stay was absolutely impeccable. The staff is friendly, accommodating and helpful, the food is fantastic, and the beach and pool area expansive and beautiful. One of my favorite hotel rooms, and especially bathrooms, ever. Can’t wait to go back.
I stayed at the JW Marriott in Cancun for several days in mid-to-late February 2026 and had a great experience! Nice and very hard-working staff, facilities, beach, and good food. I couldn't have asked for more and I'm looking forward to returning. I've listed a few details about my stay below. Ground transport to/from the airport: I arranged my airport ground transportation through the hotel's concierge who provided detailed instructions on how to find the van and driver when I landed and got through immigration and customs. I had a similarly smooth experience going back to the airport and the concierge was very helpful in confirming my return ground transportation to the airport. Check-in/out: Seamless and very smooth. Hotel room: I had booked a "Premier View" room, and it didn't disappoint. I took advantage of the view from my balcony for a few hours each morning to read and relax after going to the gym and breakfast before heading down to the beach. The bathroom came with very nice amenities including a toothbrush, toothpaste, and mouthwash. The shower had both a rain shower head and wall-mounted/hand-held shower head available. Good water pressure and temperature. The room had sufficient electrical outlets for charging devices, etc., but I generally bring a power strip when I travel just-in-case. The room came with a small refrigerator - about two-thirds was a mini-bar with a warning that if you move any of the items that you will be charged. The other one-third was a narrow open space that you could use for your own beverages, leftover carry-out, etc. This space was relatively small, however. The air-conditioning worked well in my room. My room was quiet - I hardly heard a sound from outside my room. Housekeeping: Top-notch! My room was kept spotless with daily housekeeping throughout my stay. Each day, the housekeepers also asked late afternoon/early evening if I needed anything. Be sure to tip your housekeepers (a handy envelope was available for this purpose). Beach: The beach was amazing. The hotel had many beach chairs set up both in the sun and under shade. Attendants came around often to take drink and food orders. A lifeguard in a lifeguard tower kept watch over persons in the surf. It was breezy when I was there and so the surf was relatively active. There was some sargassum in the water and on the beach - but not a lot. Be sure to bring your room key to the beach as the beach is a public beach and there are key-controlled gates to get back onto the hotel property. Fresh-water outdoor showers were available near these gates for rinsing off sand. Pools: The hotel had multiple pools. The outdoor pools seemed to be mostly for relaxing and cooling off in contrast to actively swimming; an indoor pool was available for lap swimming and more active workouts. I spent most of my time on the beach, but, like the beach, the hotel had many lounge chairs in the sun and under shade around the pools, and attendants were circulating to take drink and food orders. Beach and Pool staff: Attendants were always friendly and ready to lend a hand if you needed help setting up a chair or otherwise. Towels were available from a centralized towel counter next to a counter where you could sign up for SCUBA diving lessons. Lobby Bar: I didn't hang out at the Lobby Bar, but it looked active and had TVs with channels with sporting events (the Olympics while I was there). Restaurants: - Breakfast: I forget the name of the restaurant where breakfast was served, but it was very good. You could either go for the buffet or order off the menu. I ordered off the menu and tried some of the local (Yucatecan) dishes and they were excellent. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. - Beachwalk: I stuck to the usual sandwich-type orders here and they were very good. Service again was prompt, friendly, and attentive. - Other restaurants: The hotel had other restaurants available including those that offered Italian, Thai, and Mediterranean fare, but I didn't have an opportunity to try these - next time, hopefully! 750-degree gift shop / coffee / snacks: You could get pizza slices, sandwiches, coffee, baked goods, snacks, and gifts here. I had coffee and a muffin and they were good. I didn't have an opportunity to try the pizza and other offerings, but I saw many persons enjoying pizza slices. I also picked up a couple of snacks for my flight home. WiFi: Generally, very good. Stronger around the pools and on the beach when compared to the room. I only noticed the difference in my room when video conferencing with my family back home. TV: Large screen TV with as assortment of channels from Mexico (Turner, sports, and others - in Spanish), the UK (BBC - in English), and the US (CNN, FoxNews, network channels from Florida - in English). The Bloomberg channel was an interesting hybrid of news readers/announcers from the US (in English) with stock tickers and graphics from Mexico (in Spanish). Gym: The gym was very good, clean, well-maintained, and had a very good assortment of cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights. It was very clean with fresh towels always being available. An indoor pool was also available and although I'm a swimmer, I unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to try it out (next time!), but it looked very nice. There was a juice/smoothie bar available just outside the gym, which, while a bit on the pricey, was very good, and helped me to get in my daily greens, fruit, and vegetables. Church Services: Church services were available on Sunday morning in one of the ballrooms. One service was in English, and another service was in Spanish. Other Shops: Other gift shops ranging from those offering local handicrafts to jewelry, along with a place to book excursions and other travel, were available. Nearby ATMs: The hotel had a standalone ATM but, especially when travelling internationally, I prefer to use ATMs that are physically connected with bank branches. There were several bank branches with ATMs at the Kukulcan Plaza about a 20-30 minute walk north of the JW Marriott on Blvd. Kukulcan. This shopping center also had a few quick-serve-type eateries and a grocery store as well. Tip: While it may seem counterintuitive, I generally recommend declining the ATM's conversion rate offer from your home currency. You'll generally get a better conversion rate through your own financial institution, although you won't know until you check your account exactly what rate was used. Overall, I had a great time at the JW Marriott in Cancun. The appropriately attentive, hardworking, friendly, and engaging staff really made the experience positively memorable.
It was an overall great experience and the service was excellent! We went to the spa, Oscar & Anaya greeted and took care of us. Yolanda and Maritza were amazing massage therapist, we did beach side massages and they even included a nice card & treat for my birthday! Thank you for the awesome experience.
For 12 years, my wife and I have returned to JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa, and it truly feels like our home away from home. The hospitality here is exceptional and deeply personal. Guillermo, one of the mangers here at the hotel is amazing! Alejandra, and Megan consistently go above and beyond, making us feel like family every single visit. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail—along with their outstanding team—are the reasons we keep coming back. It’s not just the beautiful property that makes this place special; it’s the people. They remember us, care for us, and serve with genuine joy. If you’re thinking about coming to this hotel, think no more—just come! With gratitude, The Reeds
This is our favorite stay in JW Marriott Cancun in last 12 years. A great view room, so tasty food, all staffs are helpful and friendly. No complaint at all. @Gastavo
nicely decorated room and very attentive staff. Highly recommended for families who prefer a relatively quiet stay. It probably doesn’t have the variety of activities compared to the places. It is NOT all inclusive. It’s small children friendly. If you have small children and prefer to have a relative quiet stay, this place is for you.
I’m not usually the type to return to the same place more than once, but the JW Marriott Cancun has become my annual go-to for rest and rejuvenation. The setting is incredibly serene and absolutely gorgeous, from the stunning lobby to the lush foliage, expansive pools, and of course the spectacular beach. That said, two of my favorite parts of this property and the overall experience are the exceptional staff and the wonderful spa. From Israel greeting us at the front door with such warmth, to Estrella, who has been so kind and supportive from my first spa visit to my most recent, the service feels genuinely caring without ever being intrusive. She is so adept at making you feel looked after while still giving you the space to enjoy the wonderful spa facilities in total peace (sauna, steam, hot tub, cold jet pool, relaxation room, etc). Her presence in the women’s spa is truly a gift. On this trip (my fifth, I think), I had the pleasure of a deep tissue massage with Alejandro. He was so skilled that I couldn’t help but book another treatment with him again. Thanks to him, I went from tense an depleted to feeling ready for the world again! Everyone here makes you feel truly valued as a guest, and the team is consistently on top of every detail. Speaking of which, the breakfast buffet is so delicious and exceptional in variety and quality. The entire breakfast team does a fantastic job every single morning. I always leave this hotel feeling refreshed and restored, and between the beautiful environment and the incredible people, I’m already looking forward to coming back again next year (or sooner)! Thank you JW Marriott Cancun!
The serenity
Not all inclusive
Room comfort
Restaurant food quality is abysmal!! The dining experience fell well below the standards I expect from a property of this caliber. The food quality was consistently subpar. The seafood did not taste fresh, the pasta was improperly cooked, and the red sauce had the flavor and texture of canned sauce rather than a freshly prepared offering. Additionally, red wine was served at an inappropriate temperature, which further detracted from the experience.
Friendly staff; pools and landscaping are impressive; guacamole station; pool service;
The buffet

The staff, all very professional and friendly. The pool area. The Beachwalk restaurant next to the pool was amazing for lunch. The beef fajitas specially were greatly appreciated. We had amazing pasta at the GUSTINO ITALIAN GRILL restaurant. The prices were comparable to restaurants in London. Order the tiramisu for the presentation not the taste. The location was also very nice short cab drive to the La Isla shopping centre. There are a few restaurants outside of the hotel but for I would choose the restaurants in the hotel better quality same price. The little shop in the hotel has pizza slices for a late night snack or lunch, they also had amazing ice cream. Overall an amazing stay and experience for our first time in Mexico. I also enjoyed the Spa centre at the hotel the have a equipped gym with free weights and machines.

Location and amenities are excellent, staff super friendly … however found that breakfast was very expensive although of good quality and they charge extra for coffees … this may be pretty standard in other hotels too lm not familiar as first time in Cancun …
Our room was for 3 and my daughter ended up sleeping on the floor as the pull out sofa was not comfortable , the whole bed was lopsided and with metal springs sticking into her body too much as the mattress thickness was too flat ( needs replacing ASAP) . Other than that all good …
La atención del personal es excepcional
Personnel très accueillant et agréable. Grande chambre, très propre. Excellent petit déjeuner, varié et de qualité. Jolie piscine bien entretenue. Bons restaurants. Longue plage idéale pour de belles promenades. Un hôtel parfait pour un court séjour.
We stayed at JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa, from December 22nd through December 31st, and once again this resort exceeded every expectation. This is our 5th time in six years coming here, the staff and service are truly exceptional. From the moment you arrive, they know you by name, make you feel genuinely welcomed, and take care of anything you may need—without hesitation. the Thai restaurant Sasi deserves special mention—absolutely delicious and a must-visit. The buffet is consistently fresh and well done, and the bars are fantastic with great service and atmosphere. Rooms are always clean and taken care of . A heartfelt thank you to some standout team members who made this stay even more special: • Ricardo at breakfast — always attentive, friendly, and welcoming • Fernando — consistently professional and helpful • Gilberto — exceptional service and genuine care Adrian at the pool and all the staff And lastly Miguel Flores guest relations manager always on top of things. Before I forget the kids activities they had daily were incredible. That staff that handles all of that did amazing.
The chair situation is insane. For price and selling a luxury experience you shouldn’t have to a) get up 430am (literally after the first day we set an alarm for one of us to get up to get pool chairs) or b) pay off one of the pool guys This isn’t some cheap motel or an all inclusive They say you can’t reserve and the pool “opens at 7” a lie. I watched guests paying people off this morning Half the chairs are comfortable half are old and broken down It’s unfortunate because it’s a great location, nice people working, good food and overall service But for a place that sells serenity and calmness -it’s not true. If I want to sleep in on vacation one morning I just have to accept I can’t enjoy the beach or pool. For this price point and selling luxury it should not be a payoff cattle call at 5 am . Great hotel but not worth coming back- if they figured out the chair thing I would but for the cost - not worth it until they fix this (and the elevators)
Excellent as always! Service is top notch, fitness room excellent, pool is great, pool service is excellent, Club 91 is top notch and walking distance to great restaurants!
The property is beautiful. Restaurants are plentiful and tasty. The staff across the resort is very helpful and always willing to listen. My only complaint was access to the pool. The pool chair situation is for lack of a better word : ghetto fabulous. The chairs are mixed 1/2 are comfortable and the others are plastic. The chairs by the pool are gone by 6:45am. I’m told there is a policy where vacant chairs are turned over but this simply doesn’t happen. Until management addresses the issue it will be the primary complaint. Also, stating that they are near capacity is not something any customer cares about when they happily jack the prices over the holidays.
When I went into the Jw Market I met Beatriz Velasco. She was kind and gave my brother and I free ice cream for christmas. She made the experience so fun. what a sweet lady. thank you!
Great hotel and service. Shout out to Edgar, Manuel, Cesar and many others on staff who made us feel particularly at home!
We’ve had the privilege of staying at JW Marriott Cancun Resort and Spa off and on ever since 2003 - most recent trip was 9th thru 16th December 2025 - and it was seriously the same wonderful experience as we were hoping to find again this time. Through the years they’ve completely renovated the rooms and suites - changed the layout of Beachwalk a bit /added the Thai restaurant side of it - also new this time for us is a restaurant located at the Hard Rock / Beachwalk end of the infinity pool area. We didn’t eat there but it looked nice, like a peaceful space - outside but covered. There also looks to be a new outside restaurant or bar space surrounded by low clear glass walls adjacent to the stairs/walkway leading into the lobby hallway from the pool decks. Really nice to have things the same yet different and upgraded at the same time - and there was no construction noise/impact at all - some reviews have mentioned it but if there was still ongoing construction, we literally never heard it or noticed it. Checkin experience was smooth and fast - the doormen/ bellmen and front desk / reception team are always such a fantastic first impression - and then every interaction the whole time we were there with any of them, whether to get change / smaller bills or ask a question or just when we were leaving or returning, was always so pleasant and fun. The concierge desk was also always staffed with friendly agents eager to help. We ate breakfast at Bravio every morning - never a wait ! - I wrote a separate long Tripadvisor review for this. The team of hostesses / waiters / omelet chefs there are as excellent as they’ve always been. We know most of them from past trips - they are always super friendly and welcoming and so nice to be around and they do so much to make everything good for their guests. The breakfast buffet really works for us - it’s a huge range of choices for foods and drinks and treats and it’s a really nice experience there whether eating inside or outside - plus then no need for more food until late lunch/early dinner. We ate late lunch/early dinner a couple of times at Beachwalk and it was the same really great experience - outside/open air but covered and so nice overlooking the beach - great to just hang around the resort after the beach sometimes instead of getting dressed to go out. There was no wait to be seated - complimentary tortilla chips with pico de gallo and two salsas - a really good blackened grouper sandwich with cajun chips and grain mustard remoulade - and the team of waiters was also just so nice - great to see them again as well. The Beachwalk wait team also covers the beach / pool bars and the whole pool and beach area if you want to order food or drinks from there - straight to your palapa - they were constantly circulating and asking if we’d like anything. About the pool - the towel kiosk had a ton of towels and the team handing them out was energetic and friendly - they had fruited water on tap right there, Aquaworld desk was right there too - cool to have it there because it’s really nice that watersports /activities were available to book - also really nice that there was no pressure or hassle in the least - you don't have to keep saying no thanks again and again. For this time of year, there were a TON of loungers - it wasn’t crowded in the least - and we could always get some chairs under a palapa whether it was infinity pool or adult pool. The loungers with the thick soft cushions are at the adult pool, all along the beachfront/railing access path to the adult pool in front of the tower and then all around the center sections of the infinity pool. The opposite end (the more shallow / kids pool area) of the infinity pool near Beachwalk and the beach palapas have the flat loungers without the cushions but also have way more space to spread out and better chance to angle the chair for sun. Nobody is swimming in Las Vegas in December unless it’s a REALLY heated pool - so it was nice to be able to go into a pool and not freeze because these pools at this resort are heated - but it would be awesome if the pool water temp was even warmer - because even when the sun was out super bright, it was still a bit cold to us. The pools are crystal clear and the whole pool complex is gorgeous- and just to be able to go in the water at all was great compared to home ! - but if it was even a few degrees warmer it’d make such a difference in using them, especially when the wind kicks up. It seemed like the adult pool was the coolest temp and the far end of infinity pool complex was warmer - and there is an elevated area of the adult pool that’s only a couple inches deep and that was warm and great for lying in the sun. The beach was perfect / pristine and the ocean was clear - a bit rough when the wind was on it but totally swimmable. There’s a sandbar where it’s more shallow if you’d rather just walk out into the ocean but not actually swim ! There are a lot of palapas with loungers on the beach too - we could always find one with part shade and part sun and nice that there’s enough space to move the chairs for the sun angles. The 750 degree pizzeria storefront/ shop has many different kinds of pizza (the slices looked great but looked WAY better than they tasted - we only ordered once). There are quite a few different sandwiches - lots of different flavors of gelato in cones or cups - coffees - drinks and snacks / chips and water - clothes and stuffed animals and souvenirs. It’s a nice shop - the cashiers are also super friendly and welcoming and the team behind the counter in the back preparing food is super patient with orders and always smiling. I’m not sure how early it opens but it stays open until 11pm - nice to be able to just run downstairs and not have to go off the property. About our room - first time we’ve stayed in this category - it was one of the suites at the far end of the long hallway. Direct ocean view from the front floor-to-ceiling sliders with two balconies and also wraparound view overlooking the infinity pool from the side windows off of the living area. The balcony off of the living area had two comfortable chairs and a table - nice to sit outside and a lot of privacy and shelter when it rained - the other balcony was wide enough for chairs but more of a step-out type . One and a half baths - high top table and four chairs - super comfortable sofa / ottoman and pillows with a flat panel tv that we could angle for watching football - king bed and extra pillows and another tv on the wall in bedroom. The shower had really good water pressure and it warmed up super fast. We really liked the suite - those rooms are located right next to the elevators at the end of the hallway that eject you right onto the pool level on first floor - but we never heard the elevators and it was so great to just exit the door and slide straight down to the pool/beach. It was huge for us that there is space in the mini bar refrigerator on the right hand side to keep drinks / cans cold - this was our experience in a king room in March as well. If you move any of the items for vending on the left side, there’s a sensor and there will be a charge - but the right side is completely empty so we could buy cold cans of Pepsi Light from the shop downstairs and keep them there for after the beach. A lot of resorts won’t leave space and then you’re trying to chill the cans in the sink with ice - the is so much nicer and I hope you keep this option ! Housekeeping was perfect for us - they respected the privacy/do not disturb sign and let us just “live here” for a week. We would catch them in the hallway in between rooms and just trade out wet towels for dry (tipped and smiled and asked them to just take the day off from our room ! ) - but then when we’d return to the room from the beach, there was usually a message just to double-check that we didn’t need anything ! We like caring for our own space when we are away plus which it gives the housekeepers even a tiny break from one more room to clean up - plus which we spent a ton of time in the room hanging out together - no ocean near Las Vegas and it was so nice just watching the waves and the birds diving into the ocean. All of the housekeepers were so nice when I’d find them in the hallway - always offered water bottles and even more towels than we traded in - just so kind. The gym and indoor pool/ spa on the 4th floor are complimentary for guests - the gym has rows of treadmills and bikes and ellipticals with straight-on ocean view through tall glass windows - free weights and kettlebells and medicine balls and a whole array of machines - towels and water - really nice space to train and it was also not crowded at all. The pool is really large and surrounded by tall glass windows overlooking the lagoon and Blvd Kukulcan - I think the depth is 4 feet - could swim laps for sure. Last two things - we really appreciated (and never in the world expected) the card and anniversary gift that was sent up on the night we arrived and the treat after breakfast a few days later too - and - the concierge was incredibly responsive to emails with questions and a request before we arrived. I didn’t want to write names for any of the staff or teams or concierge in this review for fear of leaving someone out - because literally everyone with whom we came into contact with email and then from the time we got out of the transfer van on Tuesday night until we got back into one on Tuesday afternoon - was friendly and welcoming, professional and kind, excellent at their jobs and just made it such a nice experience being there for a week. We remembered so many names and faces from before and just picked up with them where we left off - and we made some new friends too - this whole team is just the utmost in service and caring. To the entire team/ staff who took such great care of us - the bellmen/doormen, front desk/reception team, concierge, Bravio and Beachwalk servers/hostesses/chefs, housekeepers, towel kiosks team at the pool, maintenance team who are constantly moving around the property shining elevator railings and keeping the grounds so nice - you are such an excellent impression of this resort. Thank you for making us feel so welcome again and again. We appreciate you and respect you - wish you all the best in your lives and can't wait to see you again. Until we see you again, adios por ahora y gracias por todos ! - Feliz Navidad y prospero ano nuevo !
The best way I can review this property is to tell everyone this was our 8th visit to the JW. Still one of our favorite hotels in the world. The service is incredible. The staff is amazing. You can't beat the location. We are looking forward to our 9th and beyond visits.
From Hello and Welcome the JW is fantastic. This is not our first time here and we will always come back to this spotless, friendly and wonderful place. We came in December because it was our 50th Anniversary and we wanted to be in Mexico and specifically at the JW to celebrate. The service is excellent, the staff is wonderful and the adult only pool is what we wanted. My husband is a Titanium member and without asking we were upgraded to an Ocean Front Suite. From the first moment we walked into the breakfast area we were greeted as returning family. From Sergio, Gabriel, Victor and Lourdes, we were hugged and welcomed and made at home. Often they stopped at our table to ask how we were, how was the family and did we need anything else. The restaurants are fantastic, and we love Gustino's where we ate twice because it was terrific. The service is top notch as is the food. The bar staff whether at the pool or in the Hotel is excellent. The public areas are cleaned constantly and kept in pristine condition. I could go on and on about the staff and I know I missed some of the names of the staff and I apologize but they are all wonderful and have stayed at the JW because of how good it is. We have been coming here for over ten plus years and when you see the same people as we have over the years you know that they stay because the how they are treated at this hotel. Thank you for making our Anniversary as special as it was. In addition I will say that the beach area was in great condition as well and maintained.
We have stayed at over 20 Marriott properties (and brands owned by Marriott) in the last four years. The JW Marriott Resort and Spa Cancún gets extremely high marks from us! Beautiful property, great pools, wonderful food, high standards of cleanliness, and INCREDIBLE work ethic on the part of staff! I’m not sure how they’ve done it, but the management has put together an incredible team! We did not encounter a single individual who was not friendly, helpful, and guest-focused. It was obvious that the staff truly enjoys their work and each other. And that working environment gets passed on to the guests—-you cannot give that which you don’t have! Kudos to the team and management! This is not an all-inclusive resort, so be prepared to spend $100+ per day for food, with minimal alcohol. There are several off-property dining options nearby, but they are generally not inexpensive, either. One bargain—the breakfast buffet (continental) at the resort is a good deal at USD 11 per person. Gustivo (Italian restaurant) at the resort is quite good, as is the Thai. Skip Sybil (the resort’s “Mediterranean” restaurant) as the menu is not well thought-out and the quality/taste of the menu items is lacking. For example, there are 2-3 Greek items on the menu, but no hummus nor even a single Greek wine offering. The beach is surprisingly nice—it’s even possible to snorkel. Beach is wide with good sand. Property is well-kept, landscaping is wonderful. Some mosquitoes in the early evening, so come prepared if you are sensitive. We will definitely return to this Marriott property; we already have made reservations for 2026!
