Carpets on the landings and stairs needed a good cleaning

Staff were nice and the location was good for the station.

The room was nothing like any of the photos. Really small - we had to move furniture just to get to the bathroom. The bathroom didn’t have a window or a fan so it was really steamy and a bit mildewy and just a bit tired. Coffee/tea in the room was paper cups, a kettle and some sachets - no milk which was a bit cheapskate.

Hôtel très bien situé, Q park juste en face, petit déjeuner tout à fait correct, chambre triple.

Il manquait, selon moi, des rideaux dans la salle de bain et le plancher de la chambre est un peu penchant.

Great location. Within 5-10 minutes walk from the social part of the city with all its pubs, bars and restaurants. Staff were all friendly and check-in/check-out was quick and simple.

The breakfast was basic - there could have been a muesli.

We found the location was good. It’s a very short walk to the central train station, transit, canal cruises and a good shopping area.

There isn’t really anything negative except for the price. The hotel furnishings are starting to show their age. It was nice getting the breakfast as it was good.

Tenia demanada una habitacio individual, pero el que em van donar no era ni habitacio. Era molt petita no hi havia lloc ni per la maleta. I a mes el wayer i dutxa eren a la habitacio directament, sense porta. Vaig haver de pagar mes per estar comode.

La ubicación, muy central, caminando a los lugares mas importantes de la ciudad.

La habitación fue muy pequeña, no guarda relación con el precio pagado por noche. El baño daba la impresión que no lo hicieron bien los dias que estuvimos. El secador de pelo era muy malo.

Excellent for staying if you want to be in the heart of Amsterdam.Nice room but was on ground floor so it wasn’t normal window.Very clean room with big bathroom. There is parking just few metres near the hotel but offsides it’s very expensive ,even with hotel discount(call before hotel to do reservation for parking place)cost 107 euro for two nights

Great location, tram stop nearby, clean room , comfortable bed .

Was very expensive but might have been because Dutch Formula 1 GP was in that weekend. Bathroom tiny but adequate.

After advising they would store luggage for a few days upon arrival was told they would not. Had to source other options which was very pricey and inconvenient.

The staff are so lovely nothing is too much, I booked the birthday package for the bedroom to be decorated €25 and it looked lovely! Balloons, rose petals a card & a bottle of wine a really lovely touch! The rooms are lovely and clean and the beds comfortable, I bought a hot chocolate and forgot to put the cup down and the man helped me and got me a fresh one as mine went into the tray. Highly recommend this hotel am still staying here currently as writing this but will 100% come back. It’s central and close to everything. Value for money & as I’ve said the staff couldn’t be more any nicer and always say hi every time they see you and wish you a nice day / night!

AVOID – DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL I booked my first holiday in 8 years and was really looking forward to finally having some time away and a stress-free break. Unfortunately, my experience with Avenue Hotel turned it into the complete opposite. This was not a last-minute booking. I booked several weeks in advance and had a confirmed reservation. However, when I arrived at the hotel, I was told that my booking had been cancelled just 10 minutes after the check-in time, leaving me with nowhere to stay. I contacted the booking company, who blamed the hotel. The hotel then blamed the booking company. Nobody wanted to take responsibility, and I was the one left stranded. To make matters worse, I was told I could have to wait up to 30 days to get my money back. This meant I didn't have enough money available to simply book another hotel. I had to call my family and ask them to pay for alternative accommodation. It took around 4 hours to finally get somewhere else arranged. What disappointed me most was the attitude at the hotel. I found the staff extremely unhelpful when I arrived, and I didn't even receive a simple apology for being left without accommodation. Luckily, I had family who could help me. Without them, I genuinely could have been left with nowhere to stay that night. If you're looking for a reliable, stress-free hotel where you can feel confident you'll actually have a room when you arrive, I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else. I booked after reading the reviews, which is why I'm sharing my experience. Honest reviews are important because they help other travellers know what they could potentially face. AVOID. DO NOT BOOK HERE. I certainly won't be returning.

De locatie

We konden het raam niet openzetten vanwege het geluid van alle airco's buiten. Ook was het erg gehorig. We hoorde het dicht knallen van alle kamer deuren in het hotel, daardoor zeer slecht geslapen. Maar ook omdat het raam niet open kon en de airco ook niet aan kon vanwege het geluid.

Air Conditioning was broken, it was extremely hot.

Location to the train station.

Where do I start. The owners and senior management need to seriously look at the bad reviews and do something about the number of things that are wrong with this Hotel. It is tired, dirty and run down, needs some serious maintenance. We refused to sleep in the first room they put us in, it smelt awful. Was mouldy and damp. The junior staff on duty could not make a decision to change our room and could not get hold of management for 4 hours to have that ok’d. Our second room was slightly better, but the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor even with the door closed, making it dangerous to step out of, unless you used towels to wipe the floor first. Our bedroom blind was held together with grey duck tape. Saturday morning breakfast staff, were rude and just did not want to be there, slammed dishes down on the buffet table. Breakfast was horrible. Plenty of better options up the street. The front desk staff take so much abuse from unhappy guests, (heard many other guests airing their views on our way in and out of the hotel)that they are unfriendly and unwilling to help with even the simplest request.

Falta de aire acondicionado o insuficiente en las áreas comunes, desayuno correcto teniendo en cuenta que es un hotel de tres estrellas.

Lo cerca que es a la estación Amsterdam Central y a varios lugares turísticos. Los desayunos son muy buenos, apenas para iniciar el día.

Normal size and clean hotel room, there were no bad smells as encountered in other central hotels, great location, very friendly staff.

The location was great. The bed was hard and not comfortable at all. When I booked I was told that breakfast was included, it was not. The staff was friendly. There were clothes in our room when we checked in that looked as if they had been left by a previous guest. There was a bad smell from overflowing garbage outside of our window, and our tv did not work?

Sono arrivata all'hotel stanca a mezzanotte dopo un volo con scalo che aveva ritardato ed era stato poi cancellato. Dopo tanto a cercare un hotel in aereoporto, chiamo questo hotel al telefono. Provo a prenotare con loro al telefono e mi dicono che ci sono alcune stanze disponibili ancora. Mi dicono che però devo prenotare su booking oppure il loro sito. Quindi prenoto sul loro sito. Arrivo li all'hotel già stanca e provata. Aspetto 15 min, perchè parlavano con gli altri ospiti e dopo di che mi chiedono il nome e mi comunicano che la mia stanza non era disponibile perchè c'era stato un overbooking e che qualcuno aveva prenotato allo stesso momento. Si sono proposti di trovarmi un albergo, mi hanno detto che non sapevano quanto avrei dovuto aspettare. Aspetto altri 15 minuti più o meno, mi dicono che hanno trovato un albergo e che non avrei dovuto pagare nulla ma che era al ''centro'' (Io conosco bene Amsterdam e ci ho vissuto, dove mi trovavo era il centro, non dove mi hanno mandato). Mi danno il nome dell'hotel e si trovava a 30 min da li. Ho chiesto se si sarebbero occupati loro del mio trasporto e mi hanno detto di no. Scocciata sono andata all'altro hotel all'1 di mattina, dove mi hanno chiesto 100 euro per la cauzione. Hotel lontanissimo da tutto. 4 piani a piedi senza ascensore con valigie.

the location was good. surprisingly quite for where it was. the room had 3 beds and met my bathroom needs.

there was mold on the bathroom ceiling. the room was so small for 3 people that there was only one path to walk with our luggage open. we did not have breakfast at the hotel.

They advertise on booking.com that they have a laundry but do not. Other than that, great place to stay.

Le rapport qualité prix. Prix très excessif compte tenu des prestations : chambre très petite, 3ème lit était un lit d’appoint qui grinçait et penchait (pas adapté pour un adulte), la climatisation était un gros appareil mobile qui faisait un bruit infernal et prenait de la place dans la chambre. Au niveau propreté pas terrible, chambre vieillotte donc de la rouille à la salle de bain, tête de lit déchirée. Petit dej correct au niveau du choix mais jus de fruits infecte (de la poudre mélangée à de l’eau). Les hôtels à Amsterdam sont certes très chers mais il faut pas exagérer.

The breakfast was excellent. We also liked the location since it was close to the rail station. It's a nice place to stay for a short while. We visit the Anne Frank museum which we could walk to. There were more places around Amsterdam I would like to have visited but we only had part of a day before we had to board the Viking ship to begin the cruise. I do recommend this place to stay for a short while for its ease in getting around. The people at the desk were friendly and helpful.

As first time visitors to Amsterdam I would have appreciated better advice on getting to certain places. Some of the hotel workers were unfamilar with where we wanted to go. It would have been helpful to have them ask some other staff to help us. Overall though, we were satisfied.

This hotel is cheap and in a great location. It is clean and tidy and the room was very well presented. My only criticisms are that it looks a bit tired with some threadbare bits of carpet in the hallways and, when I had an issue with the key not working, the receptionist looked as miserable as sin and didn't seem to want to help, but had too!

The location was amazing. The breakfast was really good and quite rich. The cleaning service was great, and towels were changed daily. The bathroom was really clean and good. We had a family room, which was really nice and comfortable, except it was quite dark with not enough lighting.

Also, the mansard room was really, really hot and there was not enough air conditioning, especially on such hot days. We could barely breathe in there. It would be much better if there were an option to open the window in the mansard room. We couldn’t open it; we could not reach it.

Zimmer sind nicht so vielversprechend wie auf den Bildern. Duschkabine defekt. Zimmer nicht sehr sauber. Fenster dreckig. In den Zimmern kann man sich kaum bewegen. Frühstück miserabel. Preise sind sehr überteuert. Ich kann es nicht empfehlen.

Excelente custo-benefício, bem localizado, ótimo café da manhã, dá pra fazer tudo a pé… o hotel é próximo da estação central , de vários pontos turísticos , de centros de lojas… enfim, excelente.

Very good location, close to Central Station and walking distance to many major sites. The room was comfortable, with plenty of room to store my clothing and toiletries. There was a safe in the room, and a tea kettle. The water pressure/shower were very good. I appreciate that there is an elevator in the building. Breakfast was very good with many delicious options. I am not a fan of the later breakfast time on weekends, however, and wish that it could have been at 7:00 every day. The staff were very friendly and the room was tidied each day. I did not receive any information or have a "Do Not Disturb" tag in the room, or I would have had housekeeping wait until I was gone to service the room. Not sure if that was an option here. The price seemed somewhat expensive to me, however, this might be due to the locaiton. One more thing--my window only opened a crack, which was disappointing. This turned out to be not too big on an issue, however, because it was very hot during my visit and the hotel has air conditioning.

As mentioned above, later breakfast time on Saturday and Sunday, window that would not open.

Emplacement top, personnel souriant, à l'écoute, très disponible, et serviable, déjeuner correct ( français , anglais, ) quantité en suffisance, même si un peu plus de de variété aurait été apprécié, car après plusieurs jours c'est un peu répétitif.

Le prix des bouteilles d'eau du distributeur 3€, la petite bouteille d'eau de 50cl , on aurait apprécié un meilleur prix client ! ( Même si ce prix est souvent celui de Amsterdam malheureusement...). Un tout petit plus de choix au petit déjeuner

Prior to visiting Amsterdam we read mixed reviews on the hotel, but our experience was exceptional. Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was more than adequate. The hotel is located close to the city centre, right next to a tram stop, making getting around the city easy. Despite being central it was very quiet during the evenings.

Colazione ottima. Staff disponibile e cortese. Ottima posizione. Unica pecca la doccia che perdeva un po' a bordo della cabina abbiamo dovuto mettere qualche asciugamano per terra affinchè non si bagnasse il bagno...

The single room was great value for a quick one night stay before flying out. Small but well organised and meticulously clean.

I didn't try the breakfast but the dining area was uninspiring and there aren't really any common spaces to spend time, but that's fine in the middle of the city. Access to the lifts required going down a few stairs but that's better than no lift access I guess.
