This hotel is very nice, great location and front desk staff was top notch from check-in to check-out. The room size as great and very nice bathrooms as a bonus.

The staff on the outdoor terrace could use some help on attention to detail starting with being more polite and paying attention to the table more I feel, but it's such an amazing terrace with the view.

Het bijbehorende restaurant bood een olijfolieproeverij aan bij het gereserveerde diner tegen betaling van €5,=. Brood en olie horen gewoon bij de ontvangst in een restaurant in heel Italië. Verreken dat desnoods in de prijzen. Dit kwam heel vreemd over. Het personeel was hier vriendelijk, maar de boss was te opzichtig streng naar "zijn" personeel. Ik wil niet zien noch horen wat er zich achter de schermen af dient te spelen. De kwaliteit van het diner was overigens hoog.

The hotel is beautiful and spotless clean, with the charm of the old caves together with the comfort of modern amenities. The staff was adorable, especially Antonio who gave us a free upgrade and really made our one night stay an unforgettable experience ! Delicious breakfast as well with plenty of options, breathtaking view and superb location just few steps away from the Duomo and where the latest James Bond was filmed - truly fabulous stay !

Nos dieron un free upgrade y vaya upgrade a una suite. Habitacion con jacuzzi, salon, amplio, baño y medio. Todo limpio. La cama y almohada perfectos! El desayuno genial! Sitio tranquilo con un restaurante arriba con buenas vistas y todo centrico.

Lo unico malo que diria y por donde esta en el Sassi es el llegar al hotel, recomiendo si vas con maletas pedir un pickup (esto si lo veo un poco caro la verdad...).

La ubicación es buenísima. El personal muy amable. El desayuno estupendo. La habitación super amplia y preciosa.

Lo que no me gusto es que me recomendaron dejar el coche en un parking de las afueras y que me acercasen en un transfer. Sin embargo una vez allí descubrí que el transfer no era cortesía del alojamiento sino que lo tenia que pagar yo y me cobraron 20 € por ida y 20€ por vuelta para un viaje de 5 min. Esto me pareció una estafa y lo que no me parece correcto es que un alojamiento como este no ofrezca su servicio de recogida gratuito en el precio.

Das Hotel ist ein absoluter Traum. Wahnsinnig guter Service und super Essen machen den Aufenthalt zu einem luxuriösen Erlebnis. Wir haben ein kostenloses Upgrade auf eine Suite mit Pool bekommen. Die Zimmer sind toll gestaltet und sehr einzigartig. Die Dachterasse hat einen tollen Ausblick auf Matera. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

This property is a former palace and is beautiful! It has all the history of a Matera cave house but the modern amenities that compromise a very nice hotel. My room was spacious and spotless. They had a wide array of gluten free breakfast items - gluten free bread, cereals, brownies - and they had almond milk as I cannot have dairy. Best of all - the staff could not have been any nicer. They are from Matera and have some amazing stories about their families living in the Sassi. You can tell how much pride they take in their jobs and the passion they have for Matera. They also genuinely love people and it shines through in their service. I also had back surgery in November, so moving luggage isn’t the easiest. They have an elevator on the property if you need it and they assisted with transporting my baggage from my taxi upon arrival to the hotel, and to my taxi upon departure. Anything you need and they will take care of you. I would highly recommend staying here. Beautiful view and the perfect location. You’re within walking distance of all the churches, restaurants and shops. Giovanna and Marco at the front desk were so wonderful!

Perfect location in Matera with a wonderful view of caves, canyon and church. Clean spacious room, friendly accommodating staff and a surprise rooftop restaurant with great food and a beautiful place to watch the sun set.

Would like other visitors to know they MUST book a parking space ahead of time if you have a car. It's not a problem but you must do ahead of time.

Our first reaction was…WOW!!! The hotel is grand and the decor is top notch. Everything is very clean and well maintained. The location is conveniently close to Piazza Duomo. The view is spectacular from our room. The staff is professional and very pleasant and friendly. They were able to provide us with necessary information. The breakfast choices are endless and everything is so fresh. Highly recommend this place. Keep up the great work!!

It was all beautiful, my only note would be the junior suite is more of a large double room with big bathroom/ spa bath.

For older patrons - the steps. One must be mindful, yet we were super pleased that to get to our room we only had to navigate a few steps.

We loved our stay. The staff is amazing! We were taken care of well by Giuseppe, Lorenzo and Ibrahim! We loved the breakfast, best view from the rooftop terrace in town and the little quiet spaces to read outside of our room. The location is ideal for a calm, restful few days and the rooms are extremely well designed and beautiful. Thank you!

Would be amazing if there was a pool or small spa to add to the experience but this may not be possible in the space.

This hotel had a very luxurious feel and the staff and service were amazing. The location was great right in Matera old town and the rooms was very spacious with super comfy beds and very clean. I will totally recommend it.

Hotel molto bello ubicato in una delle zone più panoramiche di Matera. La camera grandissima e con tutti i comfort. Abbiamo anche cenato una sera nel ristorante del Quarry che ha una vista spettacolare ma soprattutto abbiamo mangiato benissimo. Una menzione particolare allo staff tutti molto gentili e preparati.

Non c è stato nulla che non ci sia piaciuto.

The staff were incredibly friendly, warm and helpful. The location is superb. Really good shower and comfy bed and an amazing view. The jacuzzi in the room was great.

We are happy overall and would stay there again. However, if something could be improved, I’d say greater variety for breakfast and the ability to lower air conditioning temperatures below 22.

We were lucky as that weekend we enjoyed a special Drone Light show right infront of the terrace! As Matera became Capital of the Mediterranean that weekend. Superb. Hotel is in a magical surrounding.

All good. Our TV did not work during all our stay but we still enjoyed the stay and the spa anyway! be prepared for the steps but this is Matera so travel light! Also if you are travelling by car, stay at the nearby car park called Parcheggio Nicoletti (book online) and they have shuttle service to the hotel when moving in and out with the luggage. rest you can walk to the car park. Only 10min on foot. Carpark staff very friendly and helpful. Very safe.

Struttura di alto livello. Il recupero e la ristrutturazione rendono gli ambienti eleganti lasciando non inalterate ma visibili le caratteristiche di un tempo. Dalle foto sembrava troppo moderno ma dal vivo l'effetto è wow! La posizione è stupenda, la terrazza scenografica. Alcune suite hanno una piccola piscina con idromassaggio all'interno, anche qui le foto non rendono perchè in effetti non sono poi così piccole (nella nostra ci si poteva stare comodamente in quattro. Colazione ottima.

The terrace had gorgeous views of the caves. Our room was so cool-our own cave. The food was delicious.

The hotel is actually a palazzo and is absolutely gorgeous - the lower levels are dug into a cave and you can still see the underground cisterns used for storing water in the past. The room was super spacious but cozy, everything was pristine clean and you have all the facilities you might need for a perfect stay. The food was amazing - the breakfast options are plentiful and it all tastes heavenly. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, which was perfect (highly recommend the beef steak). The location needs no comment - the hotel is in the heart of Matera, the view is breathtaking and you can easily explore the historical part on foot. Let’s not forget the staff - everyone was super friendly and helpful, they recommended places to go, provided us with a map with a route for our walk around the city, places for lunch, etc. All in all it was the perfect stay for our trip to Matera.

Wir haben ein Zimmer mit Stadtblick und Balkon/Terasse gebucht. Haben dann zuerst ein Zimmer ohne Fenster und ohne Balkon bekommen, nach reklamieren bekamen wir ein Zimmer mit Fenster welches aber auf 2 m Höhe war und wir da wir nur 1,8 m groß sind nicht hinaussehen konnten. Uns wurde dann mitgeteilt dass sie kein Zimmer mit Balkon haben. Erwartungsmanagement sehr sehr schlecht, war auch nicht umsonst das Zimmer!!!!

De beste ligging voor de sassi van Matera. Een luxe hotel met heel vriendelijk personeel. Een parel. Heel ingenieus gebouwd. Heerlijk ontbijt. En wat een kamer. We kregen een upgrade die super was. Goede samenwerking met een parking die een shuttle naar de sassi regelt vermits je met jouw huurwagen niet binnen kunt. Heel lekker gegeten in hun restaurant.

Voor ons alles prima. Wel rekening houden dat je best goed te been moet zijn.

Top Lage mit einer sehr schönen Terrasse zum Abendessen. Wir hatten das Fischmenü, sehr zu empfehlen.

Schade, dass kein Frühstücken auf der Dachterrasse möglich war . Ansonsten war alles perfekt
