Lovely old building, well modernised, pleasant situation
Very impersonal...check in and out by machine, no housekeeping in room ie bed not made etc, first morning cooked breakfast offerings dried up.
Lovely grounds, nice and quiet. Staff really friendly and helpful. Comfy bed.
-
Great hotel in beautiful surroundings
Size of the room, staff brilliant
Nothing to complain about
Staff were very friendly and helpful, the surroundings were great and the weather was exceptional
Friendly and efficient staff.
Room could have done with a better clean.
Because it was close to my friends
The staff was very friendly
Looked stunning outside
Cleanliness
It’s location
The Bathroom wasn’t very clean
Nice food
Bathrooms outdated
Nice ambience and location.
Bathroom could be cleaner.
Not sure about the AI check in and out but everything else was ok
The room wasn't cleaned thouroughly enough. The bathroom was a little grubby and a used hair bobble was found on the bedroom floor.
good location and lovely grounds executive room and bathroom spacious and very clean very limited dinner menu but food very well cooked and presented staff absolutely marvellous, friendly and helpful good value for a 3 star hotel very comfortable bar area and prices reasonable
shower in the bath, we are OAPs and found it very difficult little storage space in the bedroom but ok for one night some rooms a long way from reception no telephones in room to contact reception
The stff were nice and helpful The bedroom was clean and the bed was likensleeping on a cloud
The price of the drinks, we were there for the wedding and in reception the drinks were cheaper than the actual wedding, and you would think that the price of the drinks were the wedding is would be fairly priced as couples have paid all that money to have there wedding at your venue
Nice room. Helpful staff
Poor breakfast and wi fi broke
Ive stayed at this hotel many times in the past but doubt that i will again, the Hotel rooms are very tired and in need of a refurb, Bath was cracked, skirting and doorframe rotten and paint peeling off in many places. You now have to self check in and out on a tablet, including cutting your room keys, so no personal experience at all. There is also now no cleaning of the rooms during your stay, i assume this is another cost saving decision. Not sure where the cost savings on those decisions have gone but its not into the hotel. Overall makes the stay really basic and not something that i would repeat. Staff and food were good as normal but the rest really let it down.
Staff and Food were great as normal
Rooms are very tired and in need of refurb, Bath had a big crack in it, rotten woodwork in the bathroom, peeling paint etc Self check in and out on a tablet is a pain, including cutting your own room keys, so no personal experience at all. No room cleaning carried out during your stay now - new hotel policy.
Quiet historic country house hotel with some newer rooms more recently added. Bar area is huge with indoor and outdoor seating and all-day food available. Also has restaurant. Not much in the village itself but very nice pub The Mossborough Inn a 5 minute drive down the road. Great breakfast. Separate events space which might get busy for weddings. Great value hotel.
Lovely well maintained property friendly staff
EV facility was poor however this is something that doesn’t affect everyone
Quiet, lovely surroundings, seating areas comfortable.
Some areas a little tired
Peace and quiet
The wedding venue was nice
No staff around for check In. So f you had an issue this would not be resolved. No water in the room which is a big disappointment every hotel I have Stayed in always provides a bottled water
The location and situation of the hotel were excellent. The grounds were a joy and open and airy. The staff, especially paulo in the restaurant at breakfast, were friendly and helpful.
The only adverse comment I would make is the en suite bathroom was scruffy in places, ie the caulking around the bath and skirting boards. A handyman should be able to keep on top of this.apart from this, everything was A+
We came to a wedding the venue is beautiful
Beautifully kept and in a fantastic, peaceful spot.
The self check in. The receptionist directed us ti self check in, as she said she was busy doing something. It don’t work for us so sleep had to call her over anyway!
Absolutely terrible booked last minute arrived 10.30 pm paid £120 to have check out at 10am, room was so hot no air-conditioning,rooms in desperate need of updating.
No air-conditioning
Overall a satisfactory stay at a hotel we have used a couple of times each year. Staff are always excellent, breakfast very good. Plenty of parking available and free. Only real issue was the lack of hot water pressure in the shower (we stayed in the Lord Darcy Suite). Not enough power to wash your hair as a woman and even my partner had to shower in cold water to get more than a slow stream.
It was well looked after. All staff were friendly and professional.
Having to leave.
I would like to just say how AMAZING the service was in the breakfast are this morning. Angela was extremely helpful, polite and very professional. There was an unfortunate couple behind us who was for some reason unhappy about the wait for the breakfast (which was 15 mins max) and Angela handled it like a champ! She couldn’t have apologised enough, aswell as the other lady working this morning (we didn’t catch her name). It’s not often you see such positive and hard working staff this early on a Saturday morning, while also dealing with some difficult customers. We also raised this positive feedback to your management in the bar area before we left. Thank you Angela for being so accommodating and friendly!
We wasn’t satisfied with the quality of the afternoon tea. I think they certainly need to work on the freshness and quality of what there offering for the price they are charging. A polite way to put it that our sandwiches were served stale, dry and like cardboard. We are feeling Very disappointed with it. Overall it’s beautiful place its self but the standard of the afternoon tea was poor. They do need to work on improving afternoon tea to match the price or consider serving it fresh. Angela on the other hand works really hard, she lovely lady, doesn't forget you as she always asks us if we want anymore tea.
I have stayed here numerous times over the years but mylatest trip wasn't good. I checked in with the new screen system and was then told I had been upgraded. Room I got was at the top of some very narrow stairs and wasn't impressed with the room. The bar areb a hardly had any draft beers on offer as they had run out. My colleague and I decided not to eat there and went to another establishment nearby. When checking out the next morning there wasn't anyone around to raise my concerns and therefore left me very disappointed. I will consider other hotels in the area on my next visit. The standard has dropped as this used to be a very nice hotel.
Beautiful setting really wow factor on arrival
Bed uncomfortable also coffee machine had to use a small glass as coffee cups don’t fit under machine

Beautiful spot in old manor
/
Really disappointed
Most things was not up to the standard s I was expecting.
The staff were great and the bar area and location were all very good
The rooms were dark and cluttered and the beds were very very soft.
Location ideal excellent restaurant and plenty of parking
Food, bar, staff, gardens, old hall
Bigger room and air conditioning but realise as it’s a listed building aircon probably not possible!
Na
Nothing
Rooms were comfy
Lack of personal touch
Lovely location, plenty of parking spaces, helpful staff
Room needs air conditioning as was soo hot even with two fans. Resident bar closed early and room service carried a cost.
Perfect location for needs. Staff very helpful.
Self check-in is a bit of a faff when staff available. It was very hot and we made a few mistakes !
It’s a lovely old property in nice grounds.
The room was very small with 2 much furniture. Difficult for a couple to manoeuvre around the room without banging into each other. Room quire stuffy and not able to open the window much
Room was fine, would be better with Air Con. Breakfast very good. Staff lovely and very helpful We travelled with our dog who loved his stay and was spoilt by the staff.
Bed was average, the mattress was little saggy at the sides
Great room, large and well equipped....
Not a massive fan of self check in..
It was good & liked the choices.

We recently had our wedding at Mosborough hall, Kayleigh & the team was amazing, the staff was so good. Our food was unreal. The chef & team was superb with our guests with allergy’s. The bridal suite was beautiful. It really was the most perfect day and it was all down to everyone at Mosborough hall so Thankyou!
Very nice room
Breakfast was disappointing. EV chargers not working
A lovely holiday with very friendly staff. Our room was large and clean and ideal for our short weekend stay. The staff in the restaurant, particularly at breakfast, were very help and friendly and particularly Rita who took time to ask us if we had enjoyed our staff. We would definitely visit again. Thank you
Large car park with ev charging.
No one to greet you at reception and there was just a skeleton staff. There was a school prom on at the time we arrived and there was great difficulty to get into the hotel for all the traffic. When we asked about having an evening meal we were initially told that the kitchen was closed. However, it did eventually open.
Welcoming
That there was no air con in the bedrooms or any where else which spoiled a beautiful day
Very quaint
Dirty disabled toilets
Breakfast was OK
Pretty much non-existent reception staff. Every time I wanted something I had to go to the bar. I requested a fan because of the heat. Told it would be 10 minutes. Didn't arrive so after 30 minutes I had to go back to the bar to get one. Room safe had been left locked so I had to go the bar to request assistance. Told it would be 10 minutes ended up most like 25 minutes.
URGENT: please ensure you check and double check everything before you leave this hotel. Once you leave it is impossible to contact them. Main number is covered by a Chatbot which is malfunctioning. There is a second number listed on google, this is answered with a pre-recorded message, The Crown Hotel and lists your options. Option 1 is for the reception. I tried consistently over three days, at different times, holding for up to 10 minutes without any success. E-mail, still waiting for acknowledgment and response to a very serious matter. Ensure, if you used the carpark, that this as been recorded properly with the Third Party Carpark Management company. Despite paying the correct amount for the correct period, I received a £100 penalty notice for just 1 of my two day stay.
A lovely hotel and grounds. Everywhere clean and well kept. We had an accessible room which is large with a wet floor shower and plenty of grab handles. It is near the delivery point outside and the car park so woken early by vans and but not really an issue. Beds clean and comfortable. environmentally friendly so housekeeping done on request. Breakfast and dinner very nice with plenty of choice. Staff are all friendly and work so hard, nothing is too much trouble. Special mention for Zoe, Natalie and Angela who worked like troopers in extreme heat this week and still kept smiling. Kept us topped up with water and ice. All staff friendly and helpful. We go back quite often so that says it all
Cleanliness and location.
All good.
Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice and high quality food. breakfast staff very welcoming. Quick check-in on arrival.
Bed was very soft and not comfortable for me. Wifi in bedroom a bit hit and miss with poor signal. no air conditioning in room.
Thank you for the drinks voucher for my boyfriend's birthday we had a lovely stay with you. Great location, nice room happy with our weekend stay.
Only downside the window shut could still hear outside noise didn't last for long.
Friendly staff relaxed atmosphere
Shower bath needed an additional hand bar to get in and out safely. A simple shelf would be helpful to hold shampoo.
The location
Bed was to soft. Well past it's service life. Sockets in room had no usb connections.
Lovely Hotel in beautiful grounds. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Amazing breakfast, vast choice. Good choice.of bar meals.
I personally didnt think the bed was comfortable. Myself and Mum twin beds. Mum liked the bed. Rooms were very warm, no air-conditioning however fans were provided.
Good breakfast staff most helpful ,
Nothing
Great location, staff were really very accommodating and lovely. We didn’t stay for breakfast as we had a very early start to travel but nice place to stay.
Nothing
Your staff are really great (bar and restaurant) - BUT electronic check in takes away “personal touch” when you arrive (and was a bit of a pain when few arrived at once with only one screen ) . Musty smell in room and hall ways - nothing a few diffusers wouldn’t fix . Shower weak and shower curtain dated . Evening Meal & breakfast food and service was very good . Nice looking hotel - few extra touches - could be excellent
The bar area was especially warm welcoming. Interesting signing in procedure using a touch screen activating the room key - worked well. Room was clean well laid and bed was comfortable.
Met expectations
Pleasant stay
Poor bedroom decoration
The grounds are beautiful and the bar area is lovely
The room was one and dated The bed was horrendously soft and uncomfortable The pillows were soft and thin The duvet was like toilet paper
The staff, especially Natalie.. Really friendly bunch.
The room was a bit dated also hadn't been cleaned properly
We were upgraded to an exec double room which was lovely. Bed was huge and super comfy. Lots of Bathroom treats provided, plus extras on the tea/coffee tray. Lovely breakfast with a great choice of options. Staff are always so totally lovely from reception to cleaning ladies through to the restaurant staff who go the extra mile every time we stay.
Staff
No aircon
Friendly staff
Upgraded for an executive suite to be near daughter on her wedding day only to be at the entire other end off the hotel!. Room was shabby especially the bathroom with no extraction and was red hot even though it wasn’t that hot outside.
all of it
beds too soft
easy to find staff friendly
booking.com photos mislead you into thinking its a quality property with nice rooms but its actually very basic accommodation and not as we expected. the finish to the room is very basic - no frills no real comfort reception closed on arrival at 4pm
An amazing venue for our perfect day! From our 1st visit to the wedding fayre to the end of our special day, the staff at Mosborough Hall were fantastic! They guided us through the plans and kept everything on track. The ceremony and reception room looked lovely. The food was delicious and received compliments from many of our guests. The attention to detail was noticeable. Thank you to all the staff for helping to make Mosborough Hall the perfect venue for our wedding!
Nice size room with large bed and very good facilities. Lovely helpful staff. Stay here once or twice a year when visiting friends in area. Only complaint is the daft new electronic check in system . No longer check in on reception. Is automated and takes considerably longer. Will be hopeless if a number of guests want to check in at same time. You have to check out by same method too. Otherwise hotel is highly recommended
It was in a good location
Dirty, no hot water staff said it would be working in 30 minutes but it never worked. No staff on the desk at check in or at check out so couldn’t make a complaint. The room was dirty there was a stain and hair on the bedding. No fan in the room and the bathroom had black mould around the bath and dirty towels. Very noisy didn’t have any sleep as you can hear all the cars in the car park and the people in other rooms banging the door all night. The room needs decorating there was like white lumps on the wall. Very disappointed in the hotel and the facilities definitely isn’t worth £89.
The girls on the bar and reception were extremely helpful, polite, and personable. They enhanced our stay. The offer on alcohol this week was incredible, and the food from the restaurant was delicious and good value for money. Nice bar area. Easy to park.
The room (225) was awfully difficult to get to, too many stairs and quite precarious. It was also rather tired, with lots of touching-up required, we don't mind old, but this is in need of a good makeover. Being at the top of the building, it was much too warm, and the fan supplied was insufficient for the weather at this time of the year. Also, very dusty, which set my wife's allergies off something rotten. There was no housekeeping either, so we had to bring any rubbish or dishes from room service down ourselves, which we do not mind doing normally, but those stairs!. That said, we have stayed a number of times and we will again. Thank you.
Beautiful
Breakfast presentation and content need significant improvement.
The hall and grounds are lovely The staff friendly Nice big rooms with great sized beds.
Not keen on self check in especially for more than 1 room Could have done with slip mat for the bath/shower.
Absolutely stunning place went for my nieces wedding the venue was gorgeous. The grounds are beautiful well maintained the breakfast this morning was lovely lots of options to choose from. I will definitely becoming back for a weekend.
It was in the perfect location for where I needed to be… free parking was a bonus.. the property itself was quirky with a mixture of old & new look … the food was exceptional, however I only had my evening meal but the quality was excellent!!
The room could do with some updating… I don’t know what was happening underneath the bottom sheet as something was lumpy but it didn’t stop me on getting a good sleep… I was shocked to find all the sheets lying on the floor outside the rooms of those who were checking out which I feel are not very hygienic as they are lay on the carpet in the corridor.
The location and facilities were excellent. We attended a wedding and the staff were very welcoming and friendly
There isn’t anything we didn’t like about the property
Beautiful location, good breakfast choice
Room very small and lighting not good
Reception staff are very welcoming an helpful as always. Bar/lounger area is loverly
No hot water from the shower. Breakfast was limited at the beginning of service. Rooms have very limited sound proofing
The room was in the old part of Mosborough Hall, and featured wood panelled walls and a lovely very comfortable four poster bed. There was a Nespresso coffee machine along with a kettle and further tea and coffee, and replenishments were available upon request. The bathroom featured a shower which was bright and airy, Personal care essential were supplied, including a comb and a razor pack. Evening food was very tasty and well presented, along with an excellent breakfast. The staff were very helpful and genuinely pleased to see guests. We are planning to return in the near future
The shower was a little disappointing, where you almost had to run round to get wet, as the water pressure was very low, but this is the only niggle, everything else was great.
I love it here. The hotel staff can’t do enough and are lovely. They do everything to accommodate your needs, and each time I have stayed here they have provided a modern, quiet room, and a clean modern bathroom. The setting is in beautiful tree lined garden. Very peaceful
There was one room they showed me where the bathroom needed re grouting
Breakfast was the only thing we liked about our stay
The room was very dated, mouldy seal around the bath also hairs,we found mouldy milk in the cupard from the previous guests. The robes where a washed out white with missing ties so useless, there where also children playing under the window on gravel with a million fag butts the staff told me the council place people and children in the hotel fleeing domestic abuse i was not inpressed with this as we where there to relax and paid alot of money and to also feel sad. Wouldent recommend and will not be returning..
Great place
All good
The setting and the grounds are fantastic and hidden away. The staff were very helpful upon arrival to check in. The hotel is in a great location and with easy commute to motorway and Local amenities.

Very poor mattress
My room was spacious and well equipped with a little sofa (that I think was also a sofa-bed) which gave the room a comfortable feeling. Room service was available and super quick, delivered by the same, cheerful, helpful woman who had so quickly checked me in. The bed was very comfortable, bathing accessories were provided which was a bonus as I had forgotten to pack toothpaste. A complimentary water and an orange drink were a nice touch.
No complaints - it was a one night stay, so I didn't get to see the entire hotel but it worked well for me.
I love the serenity of the setting, the gardens are beautiful. I have a favourite room as I have stayed here a few times now
We recently hosted a charity event at Mosborough Hall and overall had a positive experience working with the team. In the lead-up to the event, Kayleigh and Alison were very responsive and helpful in answering our queries. They were supportive of our event, particularly in working within a tight budget, which we really appreciated as student organisers fundraising for charity. On the night, Janine, our venue supervisor, was friendly, approachable, and quick to assist with any requests, helping things run as smoothly as possible. Many of our guests commented positively on the food, and the venue itself provided a great setting for our themed event, with a lot of character that added to the atmosphere. Thank you to the team for supporting our event!
Beautiful location and rooms
We stayed in room 106 and this was right next to the corridor exit door and ground level. Not adequately sound proofed, very noisy guests above us and on the corridors all night got woke up with noise then woken up in the morning by staff on corridor and guests constantly going through the door. The outside noise wasn’t great either, the windows are not good at keeping sound out and being ground level could hear everyone walking past outside and staff and cars. Maybe a different a room we would have had a better sleep.
The staff were very good. The bed was also very good
Day 1. We booked dinner and it took approx 45 minutes to arrive which is unacceptable. Day 2. We order 3 sharing dishes. The order was delivered wrong. I had eaten mine before my wives dish appeared. Day 3. We both ordered a cheese and tomato sandwich. Price £8.50. The sandwich was literally 2 slices of sliced bread with grated cheese and sliced tomato inside with crisps. This was not value for money/, and was not something I would expect a professional chef to produce. My 10 year old Granddaughter could have done better. Day 4. Sunday. We were given a menu and made a choice only to have the menu taken away and another Sunday lunch menu given to us. This wad 8pm and nobody has Sunday Lunch at that time. There is a clue in the name. However, I picked steak and ale pie and my wife picked another type of pie. Only to be told neither were available. So they then brought us the bar menu. This is very poor service for food and from the kitchen.
