I want to use this opportunity to say a BIG BIG thank you to all the staff at Mercury Sheffield Parkway for making my stay an eventful one. Special thanks to Natalan, you guys blew me away with the birthday gift and card for my son's birthday. The boys had so much fun, too. And It's only fair to say I loved everything about the place from the room, the amenities, and the location. It was a great weekend!!! 😃

I'm going to be frank, I don't have anything to say about what I didn't like expect the fact that I couldn't spend more time there at your esteemed hotel.

Room was fine

we checked in at about 11.15pm and the man on reception didn't seem to know what he was doing and it took a while - giving us the key card to a room. When we opened the door there was a guest already in there - lying in bed!! Both he and us were very annoyed - it could have been a lot worse, if that had been a young girl either checking in or already in the room! We apologised and went back downstairs to be given another room. The whole episode unsettled my wife. We did get an apology from the member of staff on the desk the next morning but that was all.

Their inability to turn the fire alarm off for well over an hour after they knew it was a false alarm

Easy to find, next to the m1, friendly staff

Room was not soundproof, could hear everyone, shower seal was coming apart, wasn’t clean and mattress seemed to be old & uncomfortable

Early check in was quick, room was quite large and had all I needed. Bedding was good. Things were clean. Bar service was quick - card only. Location wasn't far from the don valley bowl where we were at a concert and Ubers came quite quickly.

Someone set off the fire alarm around 0030 and it went on until about 0230. It was bank holiday weekend and there were a lot of half naked drunk people in reception along with crying babies. Staff did not keep us informed of a thing. If I'd have slept for more than 5 hours I'd have been very pleased with this place.

Clean and tidy.

During our stay the fire alarm was activated, which in itself is not an issue and worked as it should. Upon moving into the hotel lobby there appeared to be no clear directions from management on site. There appeared to be no set process or procedures to deal with the activation of the alarm at 13:00 in the morning. There was only 1 member of staff visible in the hotel lobby. Overall a poor experience at a time when a process should be tried and tested to deal with immediate full evacuation if the hotel.

The rooms were nice,the bed was very comfortable and the shower and toilet area was of a good size. The breakfast was lovely and lots of choice. A great place to stay if you are going to sheffield arena and surrounding area.

Unfortunately for us and the other guests the fire alarm went off just before 1 am and we had to evacuate the property. Not the hotels fault, some little scrotum bag decided to set the fire alarm off. It was over a hour later when we finally got to go back to our rooms.

Clean and fairly comfortable

The alarm went off middle of our 2nd night. It was total confusion 😕 . The hotel only had one member of staff available which was poor from them and unfair on the individual staff member having to deal with hundreds of us disgruntled guests who have been denied a night's sleep. The alarm went on for over three hours and as as result we were denied a good night sleep, and had a headache in the morning. I will be complaining to the hotel and I would like a refund for at least the night that was disrupted by faulty fire alarm. Even the Fire Brigade couldn't switch it off. I filmed a short video from my phone but I can't seem to upload on here!

The comfy bed, clean room, lovely evening meal and breakfast

Alarm went off at 12.45 for well over an hour and only 1 member of staff to deal with all customers. Sadly a few of the guests (if you can call them that) took advantage of the unsecured bar and helped themselves to bottles of alcohol from behind the bar

Room was dirty had blood stains on the sofa and to top it off I left my shirt in room and they saying it’s been take. By cleaners

Woke up early hours with fire alarm so we all had to evacuate the building also we had granddaughter with us so it frightened her other than things was ok

Room was excellent with all the facilities that you could want really, staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed for just one night.

Nothing really except for being told if we wanted to eat we could not use the restaurant as they had a coach party coming. Implied that there was a two tier system in place and we were in the lower tier.

I really enjoyed my four-night stay at the Mercure Sheffield Parkway. The hotel was lovely, clean and comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and had everything I needed, and I particularly enjoyed the breakfast and the coffee facilities. It was a great base for our few days exploring Sheffield and the surrounding area. I felt very comfortable and relaxed throughout my stay and would definitely choose this hotel again when visiting Sheffield. Thank you to all the staff for making my stay so enjoyable.

Proximity to the main roads. Quiet minimal traffic and noise.

Modern, comfortable hotel with well appointed rooms and easy access. Great breakfast!

It was ok.

Outside our room in the car park there was a huge power unit with a fan that kept coming on every few minutes all the time and waking us up. Not acceptable at all.

The staff where great and the breakfast was amazing and so was the dinner.

After getting my card for my room I proceeded only to find someone else was in the room.went to reception and they looked on the system and they had no one booked into that room as it was not showing on the system. So they moved me to another room and for my trouble gave me a drink voucher. When in the new room I discovered no coffee or milk had been left so had to go back to the reception to ask for the coffee and the milk for the room. nothing in the room was pat tested so it was well out of date

The Lady at reception was very nice, welcoming and supportive. We had issues with the fridge in the room and she went straight away to check. She could not have done more to make us feel welcome, thanks a lot. Big carpark - parking free, big room, very comfortable bed Supermarket not far away

At check out on Sunday morning there was another lady, she didn't bother, did not even ask if everything was ok

Room was clean and tidy, good view, helpful staff.

Breakfast was awful, left under lights and dried up - fried eggs were like rubber, scrambled eggs were disgusting and bacon was rock solid. Coffee wasn't up to much. Noisy people in room above us, kept us awake with adult activities and very creaky bed/floorboards at 4am, needs addressing.

Finish in the rooms was poor, paint flaking on windows. Room was right next to busy cargo train depot, so lots of noise overnight, had to keep windows closed, aircon didnt really work either.

I returned to this hotel after staying here last year. I am.pleased to say the food is so much better. In fact the food is really good. I've spent 2 weeks here and almost completed the menu. The bang bang noodles are particularly good and the bar staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms remain a little tired with outdated Televisions and very limited products (2 Tea bags, no shower gel, no towel change). The furniture is also a little tired now as are the carpets. Air conditioning in the rooms but it doesn't cool the room down as it barely trickles out. The lounge area, however is a nice temperature. Overall nice stay and i will hopefully return next year when needed.

Supposed to be 24hr room service but most of the room service menu was unavailable

The room was very spacious and well equipped, massive bath and separate shower. Quiet area to stay in.

The bed was so uncomfortable I saw every hour of the night! Also the cooked breakfast was cold and the bacon was so hard it cut my mouth. The other breakfast options where great just avoid the cooked items.

I’m plenty of room and location

All was ok

The room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of car parking.

The hand wash and toilet roll hadn’t been replaced on arrival. The ground floor toilet had no toilet roll. One section of the toaster wasn’t working ,so one side of the bread was untouched. I waited ten minutes for the bacon and hash browns to be replenished at breakfast. We had to ask for more butter at breakfast as there wasn’t any. In my opinion there wasn’t enough staff particularly on Saturday.

Once we got up to the room which was a premier room the air conditioning wasn't working and it was a very warm day and when I ask about it I was told that the hotel new all about and think I should of been told about this so we could of changed rooms , we did however transfer to another room which was a classic double but my bill wasn't then changed but we did get given two drink vouchers, the only thing I would really like to get across is that I think we should of been informed about fault

In quiet area, plenty of parking space, modern building, staff welcoming smiles, friendly helpful, informative with times for breakfast, making sure you have registered your car so you don’t get parking fine, ideal for the arena. Rooms stylish, bathrooms modern with good shower.

Our air conditioning was not working room was very hot & there was only 2 towels between the 2 of us once reported extra towels were sent to room & a fan was provided to cool the room down. Kettle & ingredients for making a tea or coffee in your room were provided but only for 1 cup each!!

Air con blew out nothing, room was roasting hot with a small fan that also wasn’t working, booked double room which was double bed and couch pull out bed for 2 children and only had 2 pillows for 4 people

From the moment we stepped into the hotel , we were crested by the amazing staff , the room was pristine and so beautiful, bedding and the bed , divine .. hotel restaurant, some of the best food and meals we have ever had .. we've stayed with you for 3 years now , and are the only hotel we will ever stay at now ... Can't wait to stay again

Appreciated the breakfast and the variety. I asked for an alternate item which was provided. All staff were very attentive and willing to support. Thank you "Chantelle" on front of house.

I had actually booked a King Size Room. Upon arrival I was greeted by a twin room. I reported this straight away to the night porter and was given a reason of a larger group had booked in so my room was moved. The plus side to this was front of house refunded me half of the room fee back.

Evening meal was very good and so was the Breakfast - staff very helpful
