Fireside Inn on Moonstone Beach

Rooms are bigger than at most motels. Boardwalk along the bluffs easy to access. You can walk to the nearby restaurants. Pricey but you are paying for easy access to the shoreline. Fully worth it for that!

Cambria is a nice little town. It's very convenient to Hearst Castle which is a must see. The Fireside inn is comfortable and steps from the beach.

We were very disappointed with this hotel. We booked king size room and were given a queen size bed. While checking in, they couldn’t find the key to our room and kept asking if we were part of “Amber’s party”. We assume they gave our room to other people who wanted to be next to each other. Upon my husband going to the office to tell them we were not in the room we booked, they insisted the bed in the room was a king and would not do anything about it. There was no apology for putting us in the wrong room. We have a king size bed at home for reference. Later that evening, we found a tape measurer and confirmed the bed was in fact a queen. The next day, my husband went back to the office (next door to the queen size room we were given) and was told we would receive a $50 refund per night for the incorrect room and they couldn’t give us the correct room because they were fully booked up. Later that afternoon, I received a knock on the door to tell me that they couldn’t refund us at all because we book through American Express. We were given a $30 bottle of wine and a postcard for our troubles. Additionally, the included breakfast (pastries) was completely gone by 8:30am both days we visiting. Not worth almost $800 for a weekend. I would not recommend staying here unless you enjoy being gaslit by poor customer service representatives.

Great location and friendly staff but not worth the high price. Breakfast starts late, no protein options and coffee is not a priority. The beach boardwalk across the street is phenomenal.

This is the perfect place to stay in Cambria. Right on the water allowing us to explore the rugged coastline. Clean, quiet, and nice continental breakfast. We will return.

Fantastic stay! Exceeded our expectations!

Location is good, right on moonstone beach. it is a transit hotel for us coming from carmel to LA. the room is very nice and spacious but no AC, fortunately we arrived at night, so we just keep the patio door open for the whole night. Be careful of the pricing of the hotel too, i booked 2 months ago and it cost 450 usd and i decided to add extra room on the day of the check in and it cost half.

Great location at moonstone beach plus lots of parking. Room was pretty big and loved having a fireplace too. Even though we couldn’t get it to fully turn off - a small blue flame continuously was there. But we really loved that it was dog friendly which was a big factor on staying here!

Our tv wouldn’t work, there was something wrong with the connection/accessing any channels or streaming services. We didn’t opt for assistance because it was only during bedtime that we tried to use it. The hallway entry doors slamming was a little bit bothersome. Checked out the breakfast our first morning and it was ok.

Stayed here for one evening as a stop over on the way from San Fran to LA. This hotel is opposite the beach, and a close walk to nearby bars and restaurants. Rooms equipped, spacious and clean. Check in was easy. Breakfast included, which was porridge pots, granola bars, coffee and some cakes. The choice was limited however this was a nice touch being complimentary. Pool big enough, and quiet.

This is a wonderful hotel overlooking moonstone Beach and the Boardwalk. Large clean rooms that appeared to be newly remodeled- the pool is nice and warm and it has a small clubhouse. Several restaurants right down the street. A great place for a getaway with the spouse!!!

The view and location is amazing. But other places that might have your room ready on time have this too. They might also have wine glasses and a decent morning spread to start your day.

I have stayed at the Fireside Inn several times, and each time is a wonderful, relaxing experience. It is very close to the beach (just walk across the street!), and the rooms are immaculately clean and cozy. It is tastefully decorated. I have even looked online for some of their decor pieces to have in my own home! Many of the rooms have a patio and fireplace, but even if you get a room without a patio, the hotel provides some shared patio spaces. You definitely feel you can relax and enjoy the ocean views. I love this place! It's our Cambria go-to spot!

The location was amazing, the boardwalk by the beach is stunning. The facility is very well maintained, the room was spacious and very nice, and the bed really comfortable.

Nice location and decent pool.

No free wifi, no cell reception. Every time someone closed a door in the hallway, we could hear it very clearly in our room - made it difficult to sleep at night. Also no table/chairs for sitting in the room, just a bench and a bed. Breakfast did not qualify as "breakfast" - just a few slices of sweet bread, bad coffee, and packets of oatmeal. Also no streaming services.

the location is good because we were able to walk across the street and go on a trail for walking . it has a balcony.

this price we paid for these rooms were 50% overpriced . there was no breakfast . there was only oatmeal and pond cake , with no plates or silverware . i asked a person there if they had plates and she said not . the room was clean . the bathroom fan makes a lot of noise and there was water dripping outside our room all night . i paid $1450.00 with upgrades for two rooms for one night . there were supposed to be connecting rooms but when we got there they said that they put someone in between us by mistake i guess so we had to be separate. this location looks like is poorly managed .

Breakfast was lacking. They ran out of coffee just 20 minutes after opening and no one could be found to refill it. Also nothing offered that didn’t include sugar (partner is diabetic)

Overall a wonderful stay! Our little family of 4 stayed here for a weekend to explore and it was the perfect location. Walking distance to a couple restaurants. You’re footsteps across from the beach boardwalk, which we walked nightly after dinner to see the sunset, let the kiddos run at the beach. It was so quiet, peaceful, restful, and very comfy beds! They really take pride in the exterior as well - it’s beautifully maintained.

Only downside is that the room got super hot / stuffy at night, but they do provide a room fan, which we used. It does come with a mini fridge however no matter what we did, it did not get cold.

The location was beautiful right across the street from Moon Beach. They had a free breakfast continental but unless you get there first it’s a little bit Scarce other than that. It was beautiful very spacious rooms very clean well appointed I definitely recommend.

Breakfast was not what I normally get at a hotel. Two kinds of bread and coffee and cereal and apples. It wasnt what I would expect at this hotel. Very cheaply done.

No table and chair in room, no microwave. We asked if they had any extra chairs and the girl at desk said "I dont know, I'm busy right now" and hung up.

The facility was broken in many places. And something unseen kept knocking on our walls and door.

Close to the beach

Our room was right on the parking lot, so there was no privacy if we wanted to open the sliding door since it opened right on to the parking lot. The room was supposed to be a king, but was a queen. The walls are incredibly thin, any time anyone went in or out another room and let the door close, it echoed loudly down the hallway and you could hear anything anyone said as they walked down the hallway. Our room was on the end and shook whenever the door to the parking lot was let to close, it would slam and shake the room. We ordered room service from Cow Tipper but there’s no where in the room too sit and eat. Overall a disappointing experience for our 30th anniversary weekend.

A little false advertisement of" including breakfast". Its called a complimentary morning hot drink with snack. Please don't mislead people with the usage of " including breakfast " it is very misleading. Your establishment is very special and highly i recommend but i was expecting to seat down for a breakfast. There wasn't even a table to sit down on for coffee and a piece of cake.

Breakfast was not there . Coffee not there no utensils and not much of anything . Might as well not offer it . Also they said they would do housekeeping and never did

This is a typical seaside hotel room. We did have a lovely room overlooking the ocean. The pillows are huge and lumpy - which we did not like. The main problem we had was the breakfast - if you like carbs you will be in heaven. If you are low carb and need protein you will need to go elsewhere. The coffee was good though!

I have stayed at the Fireside Inn twice on trips with my daughters in the past and we had all enjoyed it very much. I took a friend on a trip up the coast and there was no question about where we would stay. My friend enjoyed it every bit as much as much. So clean & comfortable.

The location is unbeatable. We had a King Patio with Ocean view room. The decor is modern and stylish. The room and entire hotel was immaculately clean. The complimentary breakfast was thoughtful and consisted of quality coffee, fruit, oatmeal, granola bars and sweet loaf cakes. Number one is the staff, the cleaning crew and front desk were all beyond nice and accommodating. Carmen, Brandon and the manager Josh went above and beyond to make our stay so special. The location is so special and feels like another world.

The heater in the room was small and not very powerful. The front desk also gave us a space heater and extra blankets and then we were perfectly warm.

No closet or luggage stand. A clothing rack was in the bathroom inches across from the toilet(!) Really didnt want to hang clothes there.

This is an excellent location. I love that I can sit on the patio and feel like I'm on the beach. The views and access to the beach are amazing.

I could not get my firestick to work with the TV. The wifi connection was less than ideal, but that wasn't a priority for me.

This is the first negative review I have ever given a business. We had a confirmed reservation for three nights over Memorial weekend that we paid for through Booking.com. When we arrived, the hotel had no record of our reservation. They had one room available for the first night but none for the rest of the stay. There were no other rooms available in the area so we boked the available room for one night then had to drive 2.5 hours home the next day and end our vacation early. Staff (including on-site manager) were completely unhelpful and showed no hospitality whatsoever. They said it was not their fault and we needed to deal with Booking.com. They refused to comp the one night we stayed even though that room would have gone empty since we arrived late at night. I never would have asked for the room to be comped if the staff showed any sort of sympathy for our situation. The hotel has not responded to my direct messages. We have not received a refund from the hotel for the one night we stayed or from Booking.com for our three night reservation. I will never stay here or at any Pacifica Hotels property again. There are many other hotels on Moonstone Beach that have much better customer service and hospitality. The bathtub drain was clogged so I showered in standing water. The bathroom exhaust was so loud that I had to turn it off and the bathroom was full of steam. Walls are thin so I heard the person in the room next to me snore all night.

The only reason my score was not a 10/10 is because you can hear other guests- walls a bit on the thin side and the slamming of doors- no quiet sensors.

What a lovely hotel at a great location. The room was spacious, beautiful and clean. No remarks. The property was nice and well kept. We did not use the swimming pool but it looked like a cozy spot on a sunny day. The complimentary breakfast/coffee bar is basic but it has everything you need. The amount of parking spots is limited but I did find a spot relatively close to our room. The hotel is just across the beautiful beach. It's a perfect spot for the sunset or an amazing walk around sunrise. Great place to stay.

The rug was dirty. There were random red threads throughout the room. Coffee maker was dirty. Shower felt like it was spitting on us. The ventilation in the bathroom was extremely noisy. The pillows were uncomfortable and cheap. Unfortunately the mattress was too. There’s no ac so a staff member brought is a broken and dirty fan with a remote that didn’t work. The fireplace didn’t work properly. Wall paper was peeling.
