Good sized room and bathroom. Good choice on menu.
I chose this hotel as it was the only hotel in Buxton with electric car chargers which is another story. The charging was not without incident but the hotel manager was very helpful sorting out our problem. We were in the annex but it was close enough not to be a problem and a nice room. The TV required screen sharing which did not work with my iPhone 17 but not bothered about that.
Close to the town centre and lovely location very friendly staff
Lovely staff & building, nice & clean. Furniture in room had lots of handles missing & loose. The fan in the bathroom was very noisy & stayed on long after the light was switched off. Very nice breakfast. Originally had to park on the road before spotting a parking space in grounds. Very handy for the town as long as you don’t mind the hill!
Excellent hotel. Second time i have stayed. Staff are superb, very helpful and friendly. Rooms are good sized. Highly recommended.
Nice hotel, big room but just a little dated.
Beautiful tasteful hotel in fantastic green surroundings. Excellent customer service from all staff at the hotel and check was very easy and smooth. Beautiful spacious room and such a fantastic traditional staircase when entering the hotel. Breakfast was amazing and the dining area was so calming & pleasant. Excellent location to all attractions/amenities and very easy to walk on foot to reach the amazing shops, bars and restaurant's.. Loved the Buxton Baths. Highly recommend this hotel and I would come back to this hotel when I visit Buxton again and stay over. Excellent standards and 10 out of 10 ⭐️
Staff very friendly and helpful and just a short walk down to the town centre.
GOOD & PLEASANT STAFF HIGH STANDARD ALL ROUND AND EASY ACCESS TO GOOD WALKS
Excellent location for Buxton opera House or Pavillion visit. Clean & comfy rooms, staff excellent, parking, food very good.
Check in was great as the staff are friendly and helpful. The room was good, nice and clean and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was also very nice with a good selection. The hotel is well located in a quiet area and only a ten minute walk to the restaurants, theatre and Pavilion Gardens.
Amazing room - immaculately clean, huge and luxurious. The staff are friendly, welcoming and really efficient . The food is lovely. Would definitely stay again
This is a lovely hotel with exceptionally helpful and friendly staff who seemed to take a personal interest in all their guests. It was a pleasure to stay there and our room was beautifully comfortable and spacious. The only drawback was the long climb from the town centre if walking!
Great property, lovely staff and facilities. As the property is on a steep hill the parking was challenging especially when other guests parked inconsiderately.
Staff were friendly and very helpful
Lovely hotel, nice rooms, great for parking.
Great stay room clean nice staff
Dated hotel in need of some TLC
great location and the staff were very attentive, would stay again
Nice dtail to leave complimentary water and coffee pods for subsequent days of stay.
Rooms were tired and bathrooms not spotlessly clean
Central location for 4 night stay. Quick, easy checkin, very professional and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. Excellent food in the restaurant.
Everyone was very friendly. We were offered tea in the lobby by Nicola while relaxing from a neighbourhood walk. Our view from the room looked over the lawn bowling and cricket pitch, very nice. The building is old, with some spongy floors, but that's what we expected. Would definitely stay again. The meals were great and not overpriced.
Comfortable, clean, and extremely pleasant and helpful staff. Thoroughly recommend this hotel. Good old- fashioned service and ambiance.
Ticked all the boxes. Friendly staff…. that interacted with guests beyond a ‘script’. Rooms refurbished. Easy to walk into town. The only thing was my room was next to the lift which was noisy. That said the hotel had no late nighter guests so it stopped been used at reasonable time.
Nice room for price. Nice to have cooked to order menu for breakfast
Close to the station and town centre so easily walkable. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was upgraded on arrival- and the room was lovely! Great that it has a gym and spa treatments on site too.
Great stay at the best western plus in Buxton. Fantastic welcome by reception staff, polite, knowledgeable and made to feel welcome. When busy hotel always felt there was staff on help to help. Clean and tidy in rooms. Good breakfast with some good variety like styles of eggs and cereals. Only slight criticism is hotel starting to feel dated ,but actually still feels like it blends with the overall Buxton country feel. A great base to travel through the Derbyshire Peaks.
A little dated but exceptionally friendly staff & clean, comfortable rooms.
Returning customers. Lovely hotel within walking distance to Buxton centre. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food fresh and good quality. Parking available. Room clean, comfy bed & powerful shower. Will use this hotel again.
Clean room, nice location, and really lovely breakfast. Only downside is that it’s an old building so could hear the floorboards creaking from the room above ours
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Excellent
We were impressed with the property overall. The food was good. Most impressive was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
Very nice, thank you
Lovely hotel very convenient for the train station and the opera house.
Paid for a superior room in the annexe. Got put in a standard room in the main hotel, told on arrival there would be a loud party the next night til around midnight. With that thought in mind I’m sat in a hotel room on my girlfriend’s birthday wondering how I messed up so bad. We could hear every noise from the bar and corridor in the room. Checked my confirmation and realised we were in the wrong room - the room we paid for was much quieter and much more in line with what I paid and we were eventually put in it. On night 2 of our stay there was indeed the aforementioned loud party. Not the relaxing stay in the Peak District we came for.
We had a lovely overnight stay. Booked in for an evening meal. Lovely meal just got the order wrong my not getting any starters.
Lovely staff and good food and drink at breakfast and dinner. Good location for walking into town, but uphill on the way back.
Excellent staff, very comfortable mattress, breakfast and food was verygood
Slept so well, comfortable bed and got an upgrade when I said how many hours I had been travelling and that the stay was a little treat for myself. All the staff were so friendly and very welcoming. Would definitely stay again.
Good in all respects
Lovely hotel with very polite and friendly staff. Great food. We will stay here again.
Very comfortable hotel, friendly and helpful staff, excellent restaurant.
Lovely old building - easy check in reception staff and other staff helpful and interested in your experience / quality - hotel short walk from Opera House but it is up a hill
Had a very nice stay at the Best Western all the staff were polite and professional, the breakfast was great. Only a few minute walk to the centre.
Very comfortable and friendly. And great menu too.
Only stayed for one night. Staff were great. Property was dated, cobwebs in bedroom on ceiling, furniture old and in need of up dating. Radiator in bathroom clipped quite a bit. Lovely fireplace in lounge area, would have been better if it was on. Would have felt cosy, as the weather outside was awful.
Lovely place, friendly staff, rooms modern and nicely decorated, good choice of food and drink, very close to town centre.
Booked in to attend a concert at the opera house. Check in was very welcoming and efficient. Room was large with a comfortable large bed. Full english breakfast was individually cooked to order with waitress service.
We stayed at this hotel for one night, the service was superb, the excellent staff were so attentive and helpful. Beautiful room, warm and cozy, excellent shower and very comfortable bed. We will definitely be staying again.
We liked this hotel and the staff were super. Bedrooms a little tired but comfortable. A minor point was the cold dining room. Even so, we would stay there again.
reception staff super friendly and helpful. great location, comfortable and nice breakfast.
We had a good experience and would definitely stay there again. If coming by train, schedule a taxi ahead of time - there’s a long walk up a steep hill(which isn’t fun if you have much luggage).
Unlike many hotels it has a charming character and the staff were uniformly very nice. Dinner menu varied enough and breakfast was excellent. A little warm at night and stronger extractor needed in bathroom. Met all other expectations.
Have stayed in Best Weston hotels many times in the past but never aware of Best Weston Plus. A very pleasant surprise, will look for them in the future.
Leewood is a delightful Hotel only 10 minutes walk from the Pavilion Gardens, Opera House and Crescent. The restaurant serves good food and the hours will accommodate early starters and late risers. Rooms spacious and we'll appointed, for the price it reflects good value and we would go back.
Lovely breakfast, quiet room and woke up to birdsong. Thankyou...
Clean, comfortable and very friendly staff. Food in the restaurant and breakfast was very good.
Excellent service and really enjoyed our stay. Breakfasts were always superb quality, but dinners were somewhat variable. Great wine list too
A couple of minor issues with the room on check in but the staff went above and beyond to rectify it quickly. All of the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Breakfast was amazing and the staff were polite and attentive. The hotel and some of the rooms are currently being refurbished; we stayed in one of the superior rooms which hadn’t been refurbished and it was a little tired. The size of the room was good and it was bright and airy. The floorboards in our room and neighbouring room were creaky and noisy and unfortunately the movement from the neighbouring room kept us wake during the night. This is the only negative part of what was otherwise a lovely stay.
Very friendly and helpful team and staff. The facility is great and the breakfast is lovely and fresh. Highly recommended!!
It was fine
A wonderful hotel, friendly staff especially Bozena who helped us she went above and beyond. Fantastic breakfast, will be back again.
Good location for the town.
Lovely friendly staff. Very clean room and public areas. Good breakfast.
We had a comfortable overnight stay for my husbands birthday. Food was lovely and all staff were friendly and helpful.
We booked a 3 night stay on the first day of opening after boxing day so the hotel was quiet. However the warmth, friendliness' of the staff was in abundance. The hotel is old but the rooms especially the ensuite was new and spacious, food at breakfast and the restaurant was very good and parking free
Close to town with a comfortable, well lit room, and good service throughout. Elegant, warm and quiet, excellent breakfast.
Clean, comfortable hotel with friendly staff that offer a good service. We had a pleasant room with a nice view over the front of the hotel. The breakfast was good. Parking was easy. Well located with a variety of nice restaurants within walking distance and perfect location to enjoy the peak district. Ideal for a weekend stay.
A very attractive hotel, our favourite at a reasonable price in Buxton. Some fittings a bit basic (poor bedside lamps) and no room safe, but made up for it by friendly and efficient staff.
Location was good. Hotel was a little dated and over priced.
Excellent stay. Room was really lovely and would stay here again. Couldn’t recommend the breakfast highly enough, freshly cooked and wonderful.
Distinctively average. Food was good for evening dinner. Breakfast no so. Rooms are a bit antiquated and need modernisation. This does appear to be underway. Plenty of scaffolding around the building right now, we weren't warned about that. Staff were excelent though.
Quiet
Lovely hotel, well located for the town and the peaks. Friendly, efficient staff.
It was great
It was really lovely and clean. We stayed for two nights and our room was cleaned whilst we were out. Breakfast was lovely. Good vegetarian / vegan options. Staff super friendly and helpful. The only request I have is to remove the plastic cups from the bathroom and replace with reusable glass cups. Lovely stay!
The service and staff was particularly attentive, and really went out of their way to help. The rooms were very comfortable but could use a tiny bit of extra maintenance. It’s a really charming little hotel for a very nice get-away
Great personal service, good food, good lication.
Fantastic location, staff brilliant, especially the way we we greeted and food supplied later in evening
We really enjoyed out stay at this hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful especially the lady on reception. Our breakfast was very good and varied. Standard of cleanliness was excellent. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.
We were first allocated a room in the Annex (43) this was like a fridge and the heating did not work, when I called reception a waiter was sent around to fix the room heating which he couldn't do. We were moved to a room in the main hotel the room was slightly warmer the main source of heat was the Bathroom towel rail. OUR BOOKING WAS FEBRUARY 2022 and it was a wet and cold weekend. The communal areas of the hotel were also very cold, colder than the rooms, so we were not able to relax, thaw out and dry off whilst having snacks and drinks. In the evenings all the communal areas were still very cold and no heating was available in the Bar area, guests were sat in coats whilst waiting for taxis to take them to warmer bars and pubs. The food was nice and hot which was welcomed. I will say the staff at the hotel more than make up for what the building lacks, they are friendly, polite, helpful and happy, the staff get an 11 out of 10. The Hotel is going through a refurb which is why the heating was not working, it would have been nice to know this in advance. On the whole it was a nice weekend break, due to the location we may try it again in the Summertime. I travel through work and have usually been in hotels 4 nights per week, this is a lower end hotel and does NOT deserve the "Best Western Plus" branding.
Lovely hotel. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and polite. Great location for visiting Buxton, walking distance into the centre.
Really enjoyable stay in a lovely hotel. Would definitely use them hotel again
Good overall for age of building, evening meals very good
Lovely, friendly staff. Clean room with everything I needed. Only criticism was the droning noise in the morning, sounded like some equipment kicking in, lasted an hour or so. Other than that, an excellent stay.
The hotel was clean and tidy with that "Old Fashioned" feel about it. The best aspect of this hotel was the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. Georgia seemed to be everywhere and at all times with her friendly smile and ability to provide anything that we needed. All the other staff were equally happy to help us when asked. I will stay here on future visits to Buxton.
Very comfortable stay in an excellent location
We have stopped here twice before and never fails to deliver an excellent hotel.
The hotel was comfortable. It is an old building and is as well maintained as one can expect. The staff, without exception, were friendly, courteous and helpful. The dinner menu wasn't extensive, but everything was well prepared and presented. The breakfast was really good.
Friendly staff, good breakie, nice quiet area, will return if staying in buxton, grouting&plaster needs attention but overall in good state for old property&quiet pricey...
The hotel is in an ideal position just a short walk into main area, up hill on way back. Room was very good everything you needed
The room was so hot. The windows didn't open fully and there were no fans or air con. One of the worst sleeps I've had in years. The net curtains were old and ripped, there were spiders ontop of the nets and dirt around the window sills. We loved Buxton but would never visit this hotel again.
Good solid hotel, large and comfortable room in the annex. Friendly staff, breakfast underwhelming though for the price
Our favourite hotel in Buxton, spotless, excellent facilities, efficient staff
Everything was good thank you
If you have a dog check they have a pet friendly room before booking through Hotels.com, then contact hotel to confirm if doing online. Booked a different guesthouse first and got caught out as when I rang the hotel to check on something was told that room wasn't dog friendly so lost my Tesco vouchers that I'd used as couldn't transfer to use at a different hotel. Staff here are excellent, evening food excellent. Breakfast good, slightly limited choice on cereal ( no muesli or granola) cooked breakfast excellent. Would definitely stay again, close to centre to walk into town. Rated cleanliness of room lower as white dog hairs on carpet even though door hanger tab said deep cleaned and checked. Stayed on Sunday night so quiet, most places don't seem to serve food Sunday evening but hotel did and was excellent. Thank you
Comfortable hotel with very friendly staff. We have stayed here a number of times and will return. A few minutes walk from the Town Centre and its facilities but located in a quiet area.
