Atlantic Beach Hotel Newport

How close it was to everything. The rooms were nice, and beds comfortable but a little dark in the rooms. The staff was helpful and super polite. Rooms service from Tickets was fast and food was great!

We wished building two had the amenities that building 1 did. We didn't utilize the pool, it's close enough, but would be nice to have had something in building 2 also. The hallways were really hot so we never sat at the cute little tables.

Great location-across from beach, lots of cute restaurants and delicious ice cream shop down the block.

The location was awesome. Walking distance to the beach, cliff walk and lots of other things.

There was clearly a water issue that happened in the room. The sink cabinet had visible water damage, along with the bathroom door.

Great room size with comfortable beds and a really nice location. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

Given the price, I would have expected at least a continental breakfast to be included.

The hotel is very close to the beach, although you have to cross a road to reach it. It's also near the Newport cliff walk and the mansions if you're here for a tour. The restaurant across the street serves delicious fish and chips.

The AC was very loud; I was relieved that the nights I stayed were cool enough to open the windows.

Need large laundry facilities. Just one dryer and one washer is not enough to accommodate even the guests in one building let alone several.

Das Hotel liegt nur einige Gehminuten entfernt vom Strand. Wir hatten eine Suite mit zwei Kingsize Betten. Das Zimmer war sehr schön geräumig. Leider ist die Anlage ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Die Kochnische im Zimmer hatte nur Mikrowelle und Kühlschrank kein Besteck, keine Teller, keine Gläser, obwohl ein Schrank dafür vorhanden war.

Den Preis von über 900 US Dollar für zwei Übernachtungen ohne Frühstück fanden wir unangemessen hoch.

It was very friendly. The room was basic, I liked that there was a washer/dryer, a pool and the community room with deck was nice as well. The staff were friendly as were all of the guests. The location right by the beach is amazing especially as parking by the beach is pretty pricey.

Good location

You can tell that this hotel must once have been one of the best in Newport. Unfortunately, it now feels quite dated and in need of renovation. In particular, our room, which overlooked a construction site, no longer meets modern standards and felt rather worn. Considering the room quality, the price-performance ratio is not particularly good. That said, the hotel’s location is still excellent and remains its biggest advantage, making it a convenient base for exploring Newport.

Room was spacious and clean

Door was not sound proof. Everyone coming down the corridor could be heard. The maids congregated outside the lifts about 830am to drink coffee and eat pastries whilst having loud conversations. If we weren't awake, we would have been.

Location was perfect for us. Close to a beach, Flo’s Clam Shack, the wedding we were attending, it was great.

Our shower head needs repair. We were only able to use the tub since the water would not come out of the shower head.

The common areas, like hallways and elevators, were pretty run down.

Conveniently located just steps from First Beach/Easton's and walking distance to several cafes and restaurants. On-site parking and indoor pool a plus. Very comfy bed and exceptionally clean room. Free coffee in the am.

Hotel was very noisy. No sound-proofing whatsoever with many guests up late returning from weddings across the street slamming doors and using the hallway ice machines all hours of the night. Everything was just a "little bit broken" - doors, mini fridge, bathroom fan, dresser. I especially did not like the lack of security features. The entire building including all of its staircases and elevators are accessible to anyone walking in off the street. I have NEVER seen this before. You do not require a room card to enter the building or use the elevator. There is no security at any entrance. In fact, aside from cleaners, I saw one staff/admin person during our whole 3-day stay.

The location was nice, the room was decent size. But other than that I can't say I have anything good to say about this hotel. For the price we paid for our stay the pool was FREEZING and dirty, even my kids complained. The beds were small even though we paid for 2 king sized beds. The bathroom shower system was difficult to use I don't know if it was because it was for a disabled person, but at least there was hot water. The entire room was dated., no charging ports barely any outlets we could use for our devices. There was no breakfast included, or bar. You had to go across the street for food and drinks. This place was comparable to a cheap mote but even those have more amenities included than this place. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything outside of your room, bring a sound machine if you'd like to sleep at night. There is a beach nearby which is probably why they charge what they charge during season but I can't say it was worth the 600 a night that we paid. Disappointed for what we received....wouldn't stay here again. Again I'm not one to complain but for what we paid we didn't see the value in this hotel.

Perfect location, across the street from the Easton beach, about a mile to the wharf shopping, cliff walk starting point within walking distance. We loved the sun deck at the hotel. I would definitely recommend this place.

What I like: on the 3rd floor rm 326 of building 2, there’s a great view of the ocean. The facilities are clean and maintained. The beach feel style is pleasant. I would feel safe even if I were staying here alone. There is a washer/dryer available on the ground level. Bring detergent or buy it in lobby, and bring $2.50 in quarters for the dryer of the lobby will make change for cash. (Washer is free.) They have complimentary decent coffee and a filtered water bottle filler on the second floor sun room. No parking issues while we were here. Parking is free. What I dislike: AC/heat unit has fan only or temp auto control. The temp auto control isn’t very good. A solution is to keep AC on auto and the lowest temp setting expecting it to be cold all night. Preferences: beds are firm. Taste of coffee provided in room. 5 star bc is what I expected for the price point.

Good hotel in terms of the great view and location right on the beach . The suite rooms wee very spacious and could easily house 4 adults and 2 kids . The hotel could however do with some renovation as there is a run down look at the place . Their restaurant Tickets across the road had some awesome food and great service .

Staff, especially the main Manager were absolutely excellent.

Onze kamer was heel groot en prachtig gelegen met uitzicht op het water. Heel rustig 's nachts. We waren hier 1 nacht op doorreis naar New York. Er was geen ontbijt maar dat wisten we natuurlijk. Wel koffie en thee op de verdieping.

I loved how big our room was, so much space! The beds were comfortable, there were two big tv's. One of the best hotels of my life. Would recommend!

2 king size beds which were very comfortable . Clean and quiet. Parking on site. 20 minutes walk to start of cliff walk. Lovely Italian deli 2 mins walk with great croissants . Had pre cooked meals for sale which looked lovely.

We thought the pool water was going to be warm and it was not.

The room was very bright. We loved having windows to open. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. The roof top deck was a real treat. And the free coffee in the morning was very nice. The whole facility was very clean and well cared for.

My only negative is: the smell of the cleanser used outside of the room areas was very strong.

Wonderful location, close to everything we wanted to do and great restaurants within walking distance.

Large gabs around the door, you could see light all around the door jam. Had to but a towel at the bottom to block out the light. Also, at times it was a little loud, you can hear the other guest next door and above you.

The room was large and if you were traveling with a family you could easily bring blow up beds and sleep 6.

It wasn't what was advertised. What was shown on booking.com was not the quality of room we had. See photos below. The biggest thing is that the windows were tiny! They didn't let light in and only provided a view if you were right at the windows. Throughout the rest of the room they offered no view. There are no ceiling lights and the overall feel is dark. The feel of the room could best be described as stark.

The location was great and not too far from Newport for all the shopping and other shops

Check-in was a little confusing. There’s two buildings watch my reservation. Did not confirm that if you’re in one building and you want to use the pool, you have to walk all the way across the street to use it. There were people maybe staff outside smoking in front of this facility and you walked into the lobby to check in and it smell like cigarette smoke pretty bad feels nice except for you could see a storage unit with some trash around it to the side.

Great location to be out of downtown. Very simple, spacious room. Walk across the street to the beach and take the path to the mansions for a good day’s walk. Small Bottago Italian restaurant next door. Lots of free parking and a pool.

It would have been nice if the outdoor lounge deck had been open as it was a warm evening and it would have been an enjoyable option.

Nice room with view of the ocean. Great location - restaurants and beach. Also easy car access to other locations. Parking was nice and free. Room was clean as were towels and sheets. Whoever made the beds did a fantastic job!

The doors seemed to stick or not - our neighbor spent several loud minutes trying to get their door to latch. The fan is bathroom would occasionally scream when it was on. Could use more places to charge electronics - outlets or USB outlets.

We stayed in a suite in Building 2, and unfortunately there were several issues. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable—hard as a rock—and easily the worst I’ve experienced. In the bedroom, both sun-filter roll-down shades were broken, there was a cracked window, and the shower curtain rod was hanging on by a single screw. Another major drawback was the abandoned property next door, which looked like a junkyard piled high with debris like old wood, sinks, and toilets. While you mainly notice it when parking, any rooms facing that direction would have a very unpleasant view. The indoor pool heater was also not working during our stay. That said, this property has a lot of potential. With some basic maintenance and attention to detail, it could really shine. The location is a big plus—right across from the beach and an easy trip into downtown Newport. We also had breakfast at their restaurant, Tickets, which was very good, and the service was excellent. They’re currently adding a beautiful second-floor outdoor deck with what will be a fantastic ocean view, which is a great improvement.
