Breakfast at the hotel was good.
Did not have banana available
Very well maintained and very clean
Nothing to complain about
Large, quiet room, shuttle bus to and from downtown Newport, great staff, outdoor bar space, on site restaurant, walk to other restaurants and Easton beach.
Room decor.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Clean! Love that there’s no carpet in the rooms. Spacious rooms also.
Staying here was not my decision, in fact I had plans to stay at a different hotel a small distance away but ultimately caved since I was here for a family event and figured I might as well be where everyone else was. That all being said, my intuition was right and I should have stayed elsewhere for a comparable price because despite knowing this was a rate influenced by it being peak vacation season, I found what the hotel offers to be WAY below the basic standard you'd find anywhere else. As for the positives, the hotel is small and quaint and visually the rooms are nice with modern design and such. If you don't like trudging across a massive property this is ideal and if you would like to be away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Newport or even up the street where all the local shopping venues are, this is a cute, quiet location between there and the beach down the street (aside from the kids camp next door but they weren’t loud surprisingly). Room overall was clean and the bed and bedding was comfortable. As for negatives, there are far too many expected amenities missing from this hotel to justify a price higher than $150 per night in my opinion, $200 during beach season at most. The fact the only safe is at the front desk is insane to me in 2026 when every hotel under the sun has an in-room safe. It’s also one thing to leave your personal belongings with the front desk staff but it’s another when said staff has continually proven their incompetence with other tasks they’ve been given. I knew of one instance where a relative requested gift bags be given to guests they knew were checking in only for them to never be given out and instead that same relative had to ask for them from the front desk later. Additionally I knew of another group of people who’s bags were somehow lost upon check in. To say you have a safe being managed by a staff who continually can’t get the jobs they’re asked to do completed doesn’t exactly inspire a lot of faith in them to not give away your valuables to any given customer on accident. The lighting in the room is dark as hell outside of the bathroom not to mention the bathroom is missing a makeup mirror for those that need it. This is a hotel who advertises on their site that they are a great venue for weddings (the reason I attended) and I had to shave myself the night before by sitting on the sink and leaning into the barely lit bathroom mirror hoping my beard was even. I mentioned the beds were comfortable but the pillows were atrocious, I couldn't sleep either night I was there and I usually adapt after one night. It seems they don’t expect guests to stay for more than 2 nights given how little storage space for clothes is provided. There's all this space in the room and even a couch by the window but would it kill them to add a basic 4 or 6 drawer bureau? I guess we’re expected to hang our socks and underwear on hangers or just leave half our clothes in our suitcase. The closet is small and the only available drawers are paper thin. I would trade the couch for a bureau but even then there’s still room for one as it is (stayed in a one king room and saw the two king rooms relatives stayed in so I know a small bureau could fit in either). I mention that there are stores up the street (marshalls, shaws, cvs, etc) but getting to them takes quite some time given the speed limit and sometimes insane traffic, so it would be helpful to have a small shop of some sort in the hotel. Of course, they do not have one, there are only a couple vending machines on each floor but no place to buy travel size toiletries you could bring to the room in case you forgot or wanted to pack lighter. As Ive mentioned I was here for a wedding and this hotel markets itself as being great for weddings. The wedding overall went off fairly smoothly, I’ll chalk up the hiccups to the couple throwing the wedding not the hotel staff who were great. I could see clearly that the hotel liaison who organized the wedding was going through it due to the demands and such of the wedding party and she has all my sympathy for sticking through until the end cause it couldn’t be me. The wedding venue out on the lawn overlooking the water also slightly overlooks the street but the trees and bushes mostly block it out and there were no roaring engines to disrupt the ceremony so it worked out as a good venue. The reception hall is a reception hall, plenty of space and a good venue for a wedding reception or a big event of any kind. Overall I and others who visited at the same time agree we would not stay here again. For a name brand hotel charging $400 a night a LOT is lacking in the way of basic amenities for what should be a standard hotel and room. Yes it is near the beach, yes it is next to Newport so I understand price is being influenced by that. However, had this hotel offered commonly available amenities I can find at any holiday inn for half the price then I could understand the cost more. It is a nice venue for a wedding so if you plan to be in and out for an event like that then maybe this would be to your liking but for a longer vacation stay I would recommend trying somewhere else.
Liked everything about it. We picked it cause it obviously had good reviews, the staff were outstanding. The hotel was not in the hustle and bustle of the village, which was a plus and it had a restaurant and indoor and outdoor bar included. The shuttle provided was clutch, an added bonus that hotel offers every half hour. The gentlemen that drove, were so amicable and knowledgeable.
The corners on the beds, even though corner savers were on, they still were very hard. Can't say how many times walked into during the night, we ended up wrapping towels around the corners. Perhaps glow lights or motion lights on them would be helpful.
The size of the bedroom, beds and location!

The breakfast buffet was very good.
The staff at the front desk weren’t welcoming.
We stayed two nights with a tour. The bellboys were amazing and had our bags to the room very quickly. King size bed was very comfortable and room was great, really clean. We had a side view of the water from the room that I appreciated. Room had a microwave in addition to a refrigerator (but no safe in the room). Toiletries were top notch but no shower cap (luckily I brought one). The heated saltwater pool was terrific! Housekeeping was excellent. The bed was a platform bed but the rubber cushioning on one corner was missing so a bit hazardous. Hot breakfast buffets, which were included with our tour, were really good and the staff, servers, service, all very accommodating and on top of everything. My husband and I had dinner and drinks at the outside bar which was delicious. And it was open late on this Monday night which was good because we were too pooped after Block Island that day to go anywhere. Bartender was excellent also. Then we sat at the gas firepit and really all unexpectedly lovely. They have a free shuttle that brings you back and forth to downtown Newport. Bathroom is large and really nice but has one of those half enclosures only, which I am not a fan of, but that is just my personal preference. Bathroom mirror lights were a fabulous touch.
Up all night listening to a wedding going on.
Staff was so kind and accommodating. Especially the front desk and shuttle drivers. Such awesome people that work there!
I had to unfortunately be in Newport for the night for a funeral. Wyndham was excellent. I stay at all the swanky upscale expensive hotels for trips and honestly the Wyndham was cleaner, and treated me better than most of those places. Its convenient to Newport a 10 dollar uber to where I needed or can take the shuttle in. I loved it and will be back
We had a wonderful getaway escaping the tourist crowds, but still feeling the Newport vibe at the Windham Newport. Only minutes away fromCliff Walk, Bellevue Ave and Thames Street, this resort offered a complete family and couples atmosphere with engaging staff, meticulous clean rooms, inside/outside dining, bars, fire pits, lawn games and pool.
Facilities including the shuttle to downtown. It was very convenient for us as a family to go and spend our day there without worrying about parking and paying extra money for it.

Room, view, and restaurant were awesome!
Early front desk woman, 7 am was not pleasant.
Great stay. Very comfortable. Comfortable bed. Great quality and location. Very nice staff.
This does not have to be changed because it is okay but … to make the experience over the top it would feel better if the transition area and the entrance to the restaurant felt more inviting or warm. It feels a touch too much like a super nice cafeteria. Maybe it’s the layout or something about the openness and the transition feels lacking warmth and inviting.
Beautiful clean, tasteful, and spacious room. Easy to access Newport by car or shuttle. Bathrooms roomy and updated. Very comfortable beds. Quiet and wonderful staff.
Was a bit pricey.
Great stay and experience, value for money. The breakfast buffet was super. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location and quite with nice views.
Fantastic hotel Very clean. Good service Free transport to town Self service laundry for guests
Nothing. Grat spot
Always clean friendly and accommodating

Great location. Loved the shuttle to town. Very clean room.
Wonderful the restaurant, the hotel, and the amenities will
We were putting a handicap room, which didn’t really work for our family
Great place for solo travelers! Most destinations are a short drive away. The staff was great! The facility is well kept and up to date. Beautiful grounds overall! I would stay here again.
perfect location, very clean, staff very nice and great food and drink at the restaurant! Loved the drivers too!
The shuttle bus was really handy and should be advertised more as it was great!
The room had some white marks sprayed around the room and the king room only had one bed so we had to ask for sheets to make our own bed up for a 3rd person
Awesome place Very family friendly And The ground is beautiful this stay was great
Supert med shuttelbus, veldig god mat i restauranten, deilig med basseng og kort vei til verdens beste iskiosk
Ingenting
This hotel was fabulous! Rooms were clean and spacious. Bathroom was beautiful. Hotel Restaurant, Johnny’s, was amazing, especially the clam chowder and desserts!! We had dinner here 3 nights because they have the best food!!! Would highly recommend this hotel!!!
We did not have breakfast at the hotel. We met a friend in Newport
Nothing
Amenities were great- there is a shuttle to Newport, a great restaurant, indoor pool, laundry facilities and an outdoor patio with fire pits.
We were placed right outside the patio- where there were a lot of events and live music in the afternoon. I wish they would have given us advance notice as I would expect they know it would be noisy in that location.
Extremely friendly staff ! Very nice accommodations Highly recommend this hotel, the complimentary shuttle service to the harbor is a nice perk !
Location could be better.
Very uncomfortable beds … dangerous edges … clean but worn out …
Location and window seat in room
Had to pay for coffee
Breakfast was good. I have two complaints. 1st- the tv situation, cable- we all want to watch our own streaming apps. Would be a valued upgrade to the stay. And 2nd: whenever I asked about a late checkout I got the run around instead of a direct answer. Just say no. Not calm tomorrow early, call at 9. Oops one more complaint- the shades are not sufficient at blocking out light . I need pitch blackness. These were light filtering. Otherwise if was sufficient. Thank you.

Staff
Our First night, we arrived and received paperwork from the Wyndham Newport, Rhode Island hotel that they are aware there is a problem with the water being brown. We were never informed of this prior to coming. We also were not informed of the weddings that were booked there. On Saturday, May 30 there was one particular wedding where the members were in the hallways and banging on our door and the walls till 2:30 in the morning. after a couple telephone calls to the office complaining that someone needs to get them under control, we finally fell asleep at 3:00,
This was our second visit. My grandkids love the pool. The water is warm and the whole pool area was very clean. The room was spacious and we all slept well. Staff is so welcoming and helpful. We appreciated the Shuttle to downtown Newport! We will definitely be back!!
Nothing.
Clean, spacious room. Restaurant was very good.
Chambre de taille correcte pour 4 personnes. Piscine dans l'hôtel.
Hôtel un peu excentré, voiture requise (l'hôtel propose aussi une navette).
It was clean updated great location. Pool water was nice and warm just right. A few great restaurants nearby. Close to beaches and cliff walk.
Nothing
La vue sur la mer, la piscine chauffée intérieure.
Le restaurant cher. Le petit déjeuner trop simple pour le prix.
Buffet breakfast was awesome (waitress was an absolute doll!) The beds were so cozy and the view was spectacular. I will definitely come to this hotel again if I ever come back to Newport!
Nadda!
The property was beautiful. I was there for a wedding outside and they had it set up very beautiful beautifully.
There really wasn’t much I didn’t like about the property except that they had three weddings going on at the same time and I think that was too much.
All is perfect
Nothing
Everything was great except for the view out the window! Room was very clean, spacious and quiet. No pet smell! Beds were large, comfortable, clean and the bathroom was very clean. I slept like baby and felt rested.
The view out the window of our room. No court yard, no scenic view of surrounding area. As I remember it was a grey wall.
The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and the staff were very friendly, the van to go downtown is key. Bill the driver is so nice and very funny. We had our wedding at the Wyndam Sept 2024. Everything was wonderful. It was 2 years ago and people that went say it was the best wedding they ever went to. Heather Smith was the best. She made the wedding go so smooth while helping everyone have a good day. The Wyndam hit the jackpot when they put her in charge of the weddings. We can not say enough about her. If you are thinking about having your wedding here think no more it will be a day to remember. By the way the food was out of this world. Hope this helps, Please tell heather Patty and Jon say hello.
Everything about the Wyndam is top notch in our eyes.
Comfortable beds, clean room, friendly staff
We booked a last minute staycation for some sister bonding over April vacation and had a lovely time and really enjoyed the partial water view, the kids watched that more than the tv:) The manager was excellent to deal with, front desk afternoon and overnight super pleasant and hostess at breakfast was a sweetheart. All around lovely getaway. Updated & clean rooms, reasonable clean and friendly helpful staff at every turn.
The view!
It was beautiful, however there was a wedding going on which limited the outside seating
For the price range, it wasn’t anything to write home about
Great location. Pool was enjoyable.
Ice machine on second floor out of order.
Rooms big comfortable, clean
Pool could been a little cleaner
Check-in was a breeze. The location is in a convenient and area. April seems to be completely out season.. we lived that we found it to be rather empty. I could how busy to stay in the summer. It was about a 10 minute ride to the town of Newport, which is quite convenient. I love that there was free. Parking of the staff was really nice. We had a problem with our TV and they came right up to fix it. The beds were really comfortable and the rooms are spacious and really clean.
There was nothing we didn’t like
Nice big rooms with very comfortable king size beds. Facilities were great with gym, pool, laundry services, restaurants and a shuttle bus service to the main town. Staff were very friendly. Great value for money.

Great hotel with good facilities and friendly staff. Short distance to main town and Cliff Walks. Highly recommend.
Ample parking. Clean room though the water was rusty. I’m sure due to effects post blizzard. I enjoyed on site restaurant.
I don’t see why there’s a resort fee. Especially during winter.
Beautiful hotel great location to downtown Newport and close to our basketball tournament. The restaurant had good food and the kids enjoyed the pool
I loved how clean our room was!!! Olga did an amazing job keeping everything neat and tidy. I also liked how spacious and modern the room was.
Breakfast: I thought the breakfast experience could be improved. As a vegan, the options were very limited. $17 buffet for options like fruit, cereal or apple was too much. $12 for oatmeal, which was JUST OATMEAL, and the toppings themselves were extra dollar each, felt like a ripoff. Pool: Though I liked the pool when it was quiet, I couldn't really use it when so many kids crowded it at the same time. We were hoping for something like a "kid free hour", but since it wasn't an option, we couldn't really use the pool with how crowded and loud it was.
We had a king room with 2 king beds. It was very spacious and clean. We ate dinner at the hotel also and it was great. Perfect for our family of 6, traveling for a dance competition.
I love when we get invited to a wedding at Wyndham Newport. The hotel is so clean and everyone is friendly. So having fun without the worry of driving home paired with ample parking and awesome staff...I vote everyone gets married there!
Went for my son’s wedding. Everything was spot on. Attentive wait staff, food was excellent, room was very clean and tidy. Would highly recommend.
Location , comfort and friendliness of staff
No hot tub
Best hotel stay
I loved the hotel no negative reviews
Staff was very polite during check in, passing through the halls. The restaurant Johnnys has great food.
Very modern and staff was very friendly and helpful.

Spacious Spotless rooms
Very comfortable and close to Newport. The rooms are spacious and lovely with comfortable beds. Nice shampoo and products and very clean. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We have stayed several times and will keep coming back. Very nice restaurant as well.
We liked everything.
Peaceful, the shuttle
No hot tub
We stay a few times per year at the Wyndham Newport & are never disappointed. It’s kept beautifully, clean, and staff is always pleasant. Johnny’s restaurant is very good. The pool is very nice. You might pay a bit more but it is worth it.
This is our third year at this hotel and another great visit. Upon arrival, easy access to ballroom on first floor. I loved the modern coastal chic decor in the public areas as well as the room. The local art was beautifully arranged around the facility. The staff were hospital and courteous our whole stay. Each guest has to sign a document indicating if you do smoke, you will incur a $250 surcharge. There is also a 11am policy sign at the elevators but unfortunately some did not abide by that as well as other guests could hear people in hall after midnight. I heard people after 1pm! The room (#332 - nice waterview/First Beacj) was very spacious having two king beds along with a little sitting area. We had a nice partial view of the water. The bathroom had lots of counter space as well as very nice sized walk-in shower. Only issue is the conditioner is so thick and opening so small, it took quite a bit of banging many times to get a tsp of conditioner out. We wish that there was the large containers so you could pump enough product with ease. We were told that the shampoo/conditioner is sent from corporate but many guests have same feedback. There was a fridge along with a coffee maker and microwave. Great flat-screen TV along with lots of lighting options around the room. Pool is open 8am - 10pm and the gym which had two bikes, two treadmills and an elliptical as well as strength and stretch equipment was typical for most hotel gyms I have stayed at. The food for our stay was very good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our designated times were ready for us. Great to have on-site parking without any fees. You do need to put a parking pass in your truck/car. We look forward to another great stay!
We were at the Wyndham to attend a family event and it was very convenient to stay right at the hotel. Our room was clean and well appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful. We needed a little extra time before we checked out and the front desk allowed it.
