Friendly welcome, huge room, good breakfast selection, poor bar selection, low water pressure on shower.
Good location
Bed very comfy however hotel is in a very busy area so a lot of noise even with windows closed, no water pressure whatsoever in the showers took ages to rinse soap off . I have let the staff know. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful although very understaffed . All staff were lovely and very helpful , even booked a table at a nearby restaurant for our evening meal. If it wasn’t for the noise and the showers we would use again as very central for the city .
Good location for town centre with free parking. Room was very hot even on a day with temperatures below the average for July as the room had bo air con. They did provide a fan which we did leave on all night. Decent breakfast which was good value.
The experience was average...
Booked an executive room to stay whilst visiting friends, free parking on site was a bonus with bus stop right outside to go into city. Check in efficient and reception team all friendly and accommodating to help with information. Had a nice room at the front of building on first floor, spacious with a lovely big bath and shower. Bar and breakfast area looked comfortable but we didn't use as out and about. Would stay again.
The room was stiflingly hot (but the corridor was a sensible temperatur) the lighting ij the room was harsh and toilet cistern dripped noisly.
One night stay to attend a course.
It was a hot summers day. The hotel didn't have AC but were happy to provide fans. The reception staff are lovely and make all the difference.
Very good staff who were always happy to help. I have no complaints because I had a great nights sleep, an easy check in, and a smooth check out with a lovely breakfast.
Fatima on the front desk, great check in,i was a bit stresaed to find a hotel that late at short botice, quiet, comfy rooms great bus stop outside that goes in city centre every 15 mins, great stay
Very noisy hotel. Room too hot. Writing on the wall, connecting door unsafe not secure enough.
Aircon decommissioned, fan in the room broken window lock broken, carpet loose, shower too slow, no evening food, breakfast was good and the staff tried there best
Extremely impressed with all aspects of my 1st time stay at this hotel and i will be rebooking next week for another 2 nights. Particularly impressed with the lovely Romanian receptionist, extremely friendly and helpful.
Bed was broken, but still usable, room was clean but very dated. Reception manager was very good. Breakfast was of poor quality, drink machine was out of apple juice and when my wife said about it the waiter was unhelpful and very sour faced.
Absolutely fantastic
Lovely staff good breakfast, clean room
It was ok but when we went to check in the was confusion that our booking wasn’t ready and payment was requested again even tho I had paid ! Room was executive room but to be honesty it was average it was large but that was it only two coffee packets carpet was lumping so easy to trip on ! Nothing to say it was worth the extra for executive room !
1 night stay. Cleanliness very good, bed very comfortable, breakfast very good, service very good
Hotel is closed
This hotel has been closed for 2 years!!
Having been going here on a regular basis for quite e few years I must admit that this visit was probably the best I have experienced. The meal was definitely the best I have had there although I must say that it is normally pretty good anyway but hats off to the chef on the night even though he was an agency. The reception staff were very welcoming and the bar staff equally. A nice pint as well.
Good location. Good staff and good service. Though elevator was not available from firdt floor but it was still comfortable. The restaurant needes to havefew more choices of food.
The hotel itself is very nice situated in a very good location also with a variety of rooms though the building is like a Maze and you do get lost looking for your room!!! The hotel receptionist staff have very poor communication skills with not fluent in English at all which is a crucial key thing in the tourism industry and certainly doesn’t qualify for a Best Western standard !!! The hotel late shift manager can’t remember his exact name has a stinking attitude towards the guests queries !!! No customer service skills at all !! He’s rude arrogant and abrupt again with poor communication skills !! These things definitely need reviewing and changed
Friendly staff, good hotel. No fridge in rooms, radiator in room, cold at times in December.
Car park was full, but luckily reception said we could use car park at Mercure, giving them registration.SSome cob webs on window frames, but otherwise very cleqn.
The room was a good size and clean but unfortunately the room smelt like cigarettes
A great hotel - good staff, clean, well-laid out rooms, and a nice restaurant on-site. Only downside is the shower water pressure, but it's a small thing. I'll be staying here again!
Good price, well located but a little tired
The room was dirty The Wi-Fi was terrible and I'll not visit that hotel again
Concert weekend. Lovely stay Great breakfast on the Saturday and made very welcome by Kirsty. She was just as helpful on Sunday but the chef preferred to do plated breakfast rather than buffet so the waiting staff were flustered and the customers inc me confused. It meant I either eat my breakfast hot and have cereals after or have it cold. Shame because apart from that a great stay.
Family friendly very welcoming and good breakfast.
Friendly and helpful staff. Comfy bed in a clean room. The hotel is quite big and it’s a bit of a maze getting to your room but the place is well signed. Very easy access to the town centre (there’s a bus stop outside). (To travel on the bus, you need the correct change if you are paying with cash). The hotel’s car park is pretty naff, the spaces are small and the car park is not big enough for the hotel. The breakfast was good and there’s plenty of choice. The cooked food is good. The coffee machine is probably the slowest in the world.
Good place tostada S easy access to town on the bus!
Clean. Staff Friendly. Comfortable bed. Good location
Staff are Awwwesome
Bath was much too small and I am well under 6 ft. The shower could not produce warm or hot water - just very cold water. I could not report this at the time but did so on leaving. Room 110
Horrible from start to finish. The car park was full, and several of the vehicles were commercial vans, so I had to park on a back road nearby. Pretty annoying, when my one search filter had been ‘parking’. The first floor lobby smelled like a toilet, and not been hoovered for some time. My room smelled disgusting - like an old suit overdue for a dry-clean. The carpet hadn’t been well-hoovered and there were crumbs on the desk. one bedside lamp was broken and the light socket covered with black insulating tape. The kettle was so filthy I asked for a clean one. The receptionist looked baffled at first, but eventually brought me a clean one. There was mould all round the bathroom window. No blind on it - just a scrappy net curtain - and it gave out onto the main road, so I could easily see the shapes of cars etc passing. The lack of a proper blind on the almost floor-to-ceiling window meant I had no privacy and had to wash and use the loo (right next to the window) in the dark. The traffic noise was excessive, and there were people talking loudly in the corridors until midnight. There was Intrusively loud pop music playing in the restaurant at dinner and breakfast. Many of the staff smelled of cigarette smoke. Overall, so unpleasant I checked out the next day, even though I was told I wouldn’t be refunded the second night because I had paid in advance.
Very clean comfortable and welcoming. Other residents commented positively about the food. We tried the restaurant and all had different dishes. The food was amazing!
There was no air conditioning, and the room was boiling I woke up sweating under the sheets and was told to get a very dirty fan out of the wardrobe at 2 am
Good: Great internet. Bed is very comfortable and the sheet are very clean. Dinner there was very enjoyable for me. Well presented and taste very nice. Bad: I think there are a few room in the building has open window. The reason, I am pointing this out is. They have under floor heating. When it s on the room can get very hot.
It is a really good clean hotel. The staff are very friendly and the food at the restaurant was very good.
Front of house Staff fantastic Cleanliness of room poor! Telephone filthy Bath had a long dark hair on side Taps difficult to turn off
we booked room only to stay to go to a local gig and also goose fair. The hotel was easy to check in and the bar staff were good. the rooms are clean and comfortable with a good tea tray lovely biscuits i would sty again there are a few local bars restaurants bus stop close by to travel into Nottingham
We were welcomed with a smile which was very nice, the staff were very helpful.
Nice and clean hotel, close to local amenities. Goood breakfast.
IDEAL LOCATION, CLEAN, STAFF ALWAYS HELPFUL AND PROMPT.
Clean and comfy. Lots of up and down stairs. Superb Indian Restaurant opposite.
Great property lovely staff the only thing I would say is the toilet was broke on one side and the room was far to hot needs some kind of air conditioning as we were melting. But overall we had amazing stay x
The room was very small for the money, the bath was broke the carpet was dirty, the bed was so uncomfy that we couldn't sleep it wasn't nice
What a cracker, don’t let the location sway you, a great place to stay to explore the area. Helpful and friendly staff, good value and spacious rooms with very comfy beds
Great hotel and free parking but a bit far out of town (20/25 minutes walk in) - plenty of bus services though. Super comfy bed and pillows. Breakfast very nice.
Excellent breakfast. Quiet room. Big fluffy towels, clean warm bathroom.
A good overnight stay with my mum. Friendly and helpful staff.
Very best western
Didn't even go in!! The area totally put me off!
Great hotel for the price ! Nice and clean
The room was clean and there was a reasonable choice at breakfast. Unfortunately I only discovered in the morning that the plug sockets were not working in my room so my devices had not charged.
Hotel was very good, professional and 24hour check in was a big help.
First impressions last - arrived to find the drug addicts begging out the front. Completely ignored by the man that checked us in. Even though the booking was in my name and paid for with my credit card he would only speak with my male travel companion. The room was fully paid for through Expedia but then I had to give him my card to have one pence charged to it before we were allowed to complete check in. He stated that the one pence would be returned to my account (which it was) but as it is still a currency conversion through my card, my bank fee for it is $5.00 AUD. The room was tidy but not clean, black smear mark on one of the pillow cases. The room was noisy lots of deliveries appeared to be happening early in the morning. Honestly avoid this place at all costs.
Can’t fault the quality of the service I received from the staff. The hotel was of a good standard. Disliked the need to climb and descend so many stairs when carrying a large bag because my room was on the opposite side to Reception on the first floor.
Had a fabulous meal in the restaurant, the waitress was very friendly & incredibly helpful.
I booked a room with a king size bed and 2 single beds as we are 2 adults and a young baby but they gave us a room with twin bed to begin with. I explained about the original booking and they moved us to a room with a super king size bed. I didn’t want to argue to much as we had to carry around so many stuff. Room was unnecessarily big and so hot! I asked about air conditioner as I couldn’t find a remote control and the reception said they don’t have air conditioners in rooms and they don’t promote about air condition. What a disaster! Then why do you have the unit in the room? Shower was so weak and the drain was absolutely slow. I informed the reception about the draining and nothing happened. Last but not least, the building is absolutely nightmare to walk around as elevator didn’t reach our room (3F) and stairs are connected like a maze. Very disappointed about the facility and the brand Best Western. One good thing was breakfast and breakfast restaurant staff. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all.
Good room. Got upgraded. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. TV didn't work in room, but they easily sort it
Super welcome and early check in. We were allocated a different room as our original room wasn’t quite ready. The room itself was small but comfortable with lots of unexpected ‘extras’: tissues, cotton buds, biscuits, and a safe. Great value, with the best prices available by booking direct with the hotel. And Free Parking.
Great hotel and staff
Checkin was easy and friendly. Plenty of parking. The design of the hotel is strange. I stayed on the first floor, but had to take a lift to the first floor, then walk down a flight of stairs to my room. The room was spacious and the amenities were great: kettle, tea, coffee, biscuits hairdryer, and shampoo/bodywash dispensor. The beds were actually very comfortable, as were the pillows. The location is ok. Due to it not being located in the city center there wasn't much in the immediate area; however, there is a good pub, Grosvenor, across the street and an amazing micropub, Doctor's Orders, within a five minute walk. Great service with a good selection. The breakfast is self service, but was good. There's a selection of limited cereal, breads, yougurt, and fruit. The hot food includes, scrambled eggs, sausage, baked beans, mushrooms, hashbrowns, rashers, and grilled tomatoes, but without having to pay an additional fee, the staff are more than happy to prepare poached, fried, or boiled eggs. Would defnitely stay again in ever in the area.
Really nice
Excellent hotel in a great location. Bus stop directly outside makes it simple to get to town, theatre etc. Had its own free parking, so leave the car there and forget about it....
We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean and comfortable
Great clean hotel. Will use again. Close to the centre
Ideal for a city break, very clean quality rooms, short drive or bus ride to town centre. Good restaurants and pubs close by. Helpful friendly staff. Downsides: many rooms not fully accessible by lift - parts of the hotel involve lots of stairs. The hotel is on a main road although fully double-glazed. I found the hotel very hot and had to have the electric fan (provided) on all night which I would not expect to need in March.
Staff all very helpful & welcoming & useful (but tight) car parking on site. Breakfast lovely & reasonably priced. Bed very comfortable, decoration could do with a spruce up in places.
Not too far out of town, food was nice, staff were friendly
Perfectly positioned to get to city centre without the noise hustle and bustle of the city.
I liked that the window opened I didn't have a TV remote or a kettle.
Good value, very friendly staff, room adequate & what we expected for the money. Good location, great amenities. Comfy bed. It was all let down by the noise from the corridors at night. we were on the ground floor. The walls & doors must be paper thin. The cleaning cupboard was next door to our room which added to the noise in the morning. There was a door outside which banged extremely loudly at regular intervals in the morning. Everything time the neighbouring guests went into their room it sounded like they were coming through our door. My partner slept through but not a very good night's sleep for me at all. A real shame because otherwise it was good value.
Very friendly staff and really helpful food reasonable priced
Stayed one night here. Friendly staff, reasonable price, cleaned and comfortable room. It takes about 5-10 minutes to the city centre by bus. Very convenient.
Every Best Western hotel has it quirks and this one is unusual in that it comprises some old Victorian houses that have been joined together. The result is an upstairs-downstairs journey to your room with your suitcases, which is not ideal for less abled guests. However, the room itself was very comfortable and the bathroom sparkling. Reception staff are friendly and efficient and there are complimentary home-made choc-chip biscuits on offer on an ongoing basis - a nice touch. The restaurant has a good selection of food although there are a number of restaurant choices in the local area. WiFi wasn't high-speed, but adequate for connecting.
Service OK although they don't always answer when you phone when calling reception. Free parking is a bonus. TV didn't work, room was overly warm, no air con. Bar is over priced, ordered a small lemonade, small coffee and hot chocolate came to over £10! Wouldn't mind the price but the coffee and Hot chocolate were from a machine so nothing special. If you're expecting 4 star service I wouldn't recommend. If you get a cheap deal and lower expectations to a 3 star it's not bad for an overnight stay.
Room was soooo small for a double. Just about got the bed in there. Was clean however
The property was in a great location. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were basic but clean. The room stayed in was extremely noisy and the bathroom window would not close, I was directly on the main road and the walls were extremely thin. I barely had any sleep for the 3 nights that I was there as one night another person next door was snoring so loud, the other nights girls were having a party in the room next door until gone 5am.
Tiny room for a 4 day visit. And stain on bed.
Friendly helpful staff at reception and breakfast. Very nice breakfast. Good parking arrangements Park Inn next door when we arrived at 11pm to a full car park. Very reasonable cost too.
Was a very nice hotel, with friendly helpful staff. The cleanliness of the room and bathroom could be improved.
Single room a little small, with no real room to put a suitcase anywhere. Bathroom nice and clean although shower a little lacking in pressure. I turned the heated towel rail off but forgot to turn the room radiator down, which resulted in the room being too warm overnight. I would have opened the window but street traffic noise level was high. It was probably the least expensive hotel looked at for the area, but I would stay here again, although probably take a double room next time. My decision to eat in the hotel restaurant was a good one as the chicken tagliatelle dish with a side of garlic bread was excellent, married to a nice glass of South African white wine it was more than enough for me!!!
The hotel was situated perfectly for my needs and was pretty much what I expected. The room was clean and spacious but could have done with an update. In particular, the bathroom was quite small and the window would not open making it quite stuffy after a shower. That said, the bed was comfy and considering it was positioned at the front of the hotel facing a main road, it was not too noisy. So overall, I would say that I was reasonably satisfied. However, it was quite disappointing to have brought my mother to the hotel restaurant for Sunday dinner and to find that lunch that day was not being served. It clearly stated on the website and in the literature inside the room that Sunday lunch was served between 1pm and 3pm. I was in Nottingham as my father was having surgery at City Hospital. I wanted to ensure that my mother had a good meal and felt that lunch at my hotel, whose restaurant is well rated on trip advisor, would be perfect. I had even spoken with a hotel employee who was working in the restaurant the night before about lunch and whether I would need to book a table. They said there was no need, and did not say anything about lunch not being available the following day. I was offered little more than an apology when checking out. Fortunately, my mother and I were able to find a nice lunch at the Lincolnshire Poacher which was just down the road. I would stay at the hotel again if I had to, although I would also explore other options first.
Room very small on this booking compared to room we stayed in on previous stay at this hotel.Toilet seat was broken and few other minor repairs needed in room but overall comfortable stay.Staff pleasant and helpful.Overall for what we paid for two night stay it is good value, clean and recommended.Be aware when busy parking is nightmare due to limited small spaces available at hotel car park.
Excellent comfortable rooms, very good cooked breakfast. That is, once you have found it. We took a circular road around Nottingham and missed the stretch of Mansfield Road where this hotel was situated, and the sign of the hotel was very small, could easily be missed. Only 5 minutes drive from city centre, with added benefit of car park and bus stop outside.
Great location and good parking hotel a little tired but good value for money
Lovely service at reception, pleasant and clean room. Didn’t have breakfast
warm comfortable polite staff quiet good night's sleep.car parked safely in hotels own car park.
Single night stay , check in was quick and friendly, room was small but adequate for a single night , good bed , lighting and curtains kept the light out in the morning . Would stay again
Friendly and helpful staff. Even though t they had two events that evening they managed to fit us in for dinner .
Nice room but bathroom facilities were not great, poor pressure on the shower and taps on the sink were coming away from the sink
Good location for night out in Nottingham. Handy bus stop right outside hotel.
Hotel facilities and such reasonable and as described, although dated in places. What let things down was the room cleanliness and condition - throw pillows on the bed had what i can only imagine were snot stains accross them, the toilet rolls empty, the bath panel hanging off, toulet constantly flushes and generally dirty. Expected better from Best Western to be honest.
The staff were all very friendly but unfortunately we didn’t have any sleep! There was a party going on upstairs and the alarm clock went off at 4am?
Lovely hotel, clean rooms and very friendly, welcoming staff. Would definitely stay again.
