There is no sound proofing between rooms. Could hear conversations from neighbouring rooms which heavily impacted sleeping. Also road noise.

Paying to park because why? It’s not near town or a station? Plenty of parking. Expensive too. Asked reception staff if could park anywhere else & just said no so not helpful. Asked reception how much the electric charge was for electric cars & said don’t know you just scan the QR code so again not helpful. Skirting boards in our room had tea/coffee stains on it so not cleaned properly. Shower kept going cold & hot. No brush to clean the toilet. Won’t be staying again.

Dusty Room, Aircon did not work but was brought up a fan so was happy with that. (Not a big concern on either to be fair)

Hall and bedroom carpets were in shocking condition. No iron or ironing board. Shower drain didn’t work. Loo paper was stacked on the support arm and the loo role holder ripped off. Loo seat was not on straight.

Sauna broken with no notification, despite us booking for the spa facilities. Looked like it had been out of action for a while based on conversation with staff. Should have been informed before booking. Shower tray filled so quickly that we couldn’t have the shower on full capacity. Poor drainage. Very limited on gluten free options so couldn’t eat there. Reception staff didn’t even know what GF options they had and sent us to the restaurant to ask. Curtains in bedroom do not stretch fully so light cane in at each outer edge.

I paid full price for parking, my friends turned up 5mins after me and were given free parking AND free late check out in exchange for leaving a 5* google review at check in. My room was dirty, there was a huge stain by the bed and another that was sticky tar like that my sock stuck to. The bathroom stank of sewage. The coffee machine at breakfast was filthy and needed a filter change.

Shower was almost unusable due to wild fluctuations of temperature. I had two showers , one late at night and one morning. And the same experience on both. From almost scalding to cool. The room I had is the noisiest room I’ve ever had. Door let in from corridor and lift area. Walls let every noise through from neighbour and neighbour had loud TV on all night and made even louder phone calls over the top of that. Consider g the breakfast is £16, is not great. Medicare at best , didn’t realize my rate didn’t include it so was charged AFTER I had entered and sat down eating my food. I have a blue badge and asked where blue badge parking was. Right at the rear. There is a rear door. But at night it was shut with no bell and no key pass. So o had to walk even further than I would have done parking in the normal parking bays. This MIST be sorted. So all in all this hotel kissing. The marks on a lot of places.

Good hotel in perfect location for our needs,staff were helpful & friendly & breakfast was nice with lots of variety on offer,added bonus of swimming pool free for guests.

Room was small with not much space to walk around the bed but was adequate for time spent in the room.

The hotel was mainly catering for businesses to use as a stop of area for company members. The breakfast was okay but lacking in certain items like orange juice cleanliness could’ve been better. First room we had was very noisy but we were moved. It looked like it had a refurbishment recently, but still it was a little bit shabby.

Good location, short walk straight into the centre of town. Staff very friendly. Big shout out to Pooja in the bar/restaurant who really made our stay amazing. EV charging ports enough spaces.

Having to pay for onsite parking, we were guests so should be a bonus of staying there. Card only payments, some of us still use cash.

The duvee cover and the duvee were dirty; the shower is not fit for women, no brush for toilet cleaning, the cleaning ladies do not speak and understand English

Checkin was easy and efficient.

Carpet in room was filthy, shower was erratic going from hot cold during the shower. Lighting in bathroom is poor. Breakfast was poor we went for breakfast at 7:45am barely any fresh fruit left, hot breakfast was disgusting, fatty bacon, congealed baked beans and eggs you could bounce they were so overcooked. Just glad we only had one night here, certainly wouldn't stay again.

I didn’t like the damp smell in the room , the lady in the restaurant was unhelpful and rude , we were given a scrappy piece of paper with a very limited menu , only a burger for kids ,, and 4 or 5 dishes for adults , which were very basic ,, the desert was microwaved , and like rubber ,, the ice cream was rubbish and lumps of ice in it , , the pool and spa erea needs refurbing

The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was modern and clean.

The breakfast wasn't great. The scrambled eggs were not very nice and the rest of it was ok but not particularly appealing. The coffee machine wasn't working on the first morning and the staff member wasn't able to fix it. We could have had a little more coffee/ tea in the room and there was (never is) enough milk.

The double rooms are very small compared to other hotels. Only big enough for one person. The carpets in the room was dusty and dirty. In the first room I was given the aircon didn’t work, but the staff did change my room. It seems a very basic and old fashioned hotel for the money you pay. But ok for business travel.

The staff were amazing. We had some issues during our stay with the AC unit..which the reception staff dealt with fantastically.

Although it's a 4 star hotel, it didn't feel that way. The room was outdated in need of a good carpet clean, the light by the bed wasn't working. The swiming pool doesn't have someone there to offer towels/slippers. You can ask for a towel from the reception. Bring your own slippers! There are baby classes Saturday and Sunday morning, meaning the already small pool is limited to one lane for swimming for all hotel guests. I say swimming but it's that small that if you put 2 adults in, you have no space to swim. Also, the opening hours are not great. If you are out and about exploring, and come back at 19, tough luck, you don't get to swim. This is Saturday and Sunday. During the week you can go in until 20, which is still too early. The breakfast is lacking. They ran out of baked beans at the early hours of the day. We gave the restaurant a try in the evening and they didn't have pasta, they didn't have pork ribs, it was more of what do you offer then dince yhe menu is irrelevant? Oh and they have parking, their own parking but you still pay £12 per 24h. Why?? No idea...

No air conditioning in our room. Clothes hanging space was very limited and really only suitable for very short stay. Tea and coffee facilities were very limited in bedroom.

The location is pretty good and opposite a pub which is a good option for causal food and drinks without getting too rowdy. It's secure and the bed is pretty comfortable.

It is important to note that the doors do close at around 11:00 pm to midnight and you will have to be buzzed in but that just adds to the safety of the building. Additionally, you cannot open a tab at the bar and have to pay as you order.

The hotel’s location was ideal for our three-night stay, as we wanted a comfortable base from which to explore both the Peak District and Lincolnshire. We made good use of the swimming pool and jacuzzi during our stay. Unfortunately, the sauna was not working, which was a little disappointing. All the staff were very pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast was also very good, with a good selection of options. Overall, we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay and found the hotel to be a great base for exploring the surrounding areas.

Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with the bedroom. The room felt extremely small for a double bed, with only around 30 cm of space between the end of the bed and the wall. A large-screen TV was mounted on the wall directly in this restricted space, which made moving around the room quite awkward. Each time we walked past the end of the bed, we had to be extremely careful not to hit our head, and there was even a concern about accidentally injuring our eyes on the TV. We did not feel that the layout and arrangement of the room were well designed, particularly given how limited the available space was. For the price we paid for three nights, we expected a more spacious and comfortable bedroom. This was the main disappointment of our stay.

The hotel was in a good location. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly.

The bar staff were very slow to serve even when the bar was quiet. Friday night, two on duty, they took payment for a bottle of wine which they then found wasn't in a chill cabinet but didn't tell us. We were the only people in the bar. We waited 20 mins then when we asked where the wine was they offered to get one out of stock room which we refused because it would not have been chilled. They had alternative wine in fridge which was not offered to us we had to ask and then had to wait another 15 mins for that. On day we checked out at 10 am cleaner knocked on door asking us when we were going to check out even though check out time was 11. We felt we were being asked to leave early.

Room was possibly next to an equipment room and i could hear a repetitive buzzing/vibration in the night. The bed was lumpy. I was promised some extra water, it never arrived. Often had to queue at bar while poor bar staff tried to cope, this happened on previous visits too. Whenever i went to reception there was a wait to speak to someone so i didn’t wait.

Efficient, polite staff, pleasant, clean and spacious room, good toiletry supplies in a pleasantly appointed ensuite and fairly effective air conditioning (suffering slightly from its load on a very hot day!). Excellent breakfast, apart from the slight niggle with the tea!

Despite the excellent breakfast, the very surprising lack of tea (as opposed to herbal infusions, which were abundant!) in the breakfast room was a little disappointing. Having said that, if I was really bothered I would have asked but decided on coffee instead. I feel sure some would have been provided - although there didn't seem to be an empty space where tea would be. That being all there was to gripe about suggests a great review for this fine hotel!

Friendly staff, clean and felt spacious in the public areas. Breakfast was good. Plenty of parking for a city hotel. It is a bit of a way out from the city centre, but there are plenty of buses into town, and it's only a few minutes journey. There is a large recreation ground a few minutes walk away. Pool is not very big, but fine for a little swim.

Not a lot to dislike for the location and price. I suppose the room was a bit compact, and while clean and reasonably well appointed there were one or two signs a little maintenance was due.

Air con didn’t work in any room. I moved rooms three times. The first room stunk of sewage. The smell was incredibly strong. The second room was like a sauna. Couldn’t cope as the air con didn’t work. Third room had working air con but the floor was soaking wet. The whole hotel itself was very run down. I got stuck in the loft at one point.

It was near the place I was visiting, somewhere the taxi drivers and locals knew. I saw a few buses going to the city centre, maybe i should have jumped on one and gone to another establishment. The swimming pool was used by my wife.

The rooms were very small for a hotel outside London. The bathroom had that sewage smell. It did look old and dated. Parking cost 12 pounds even though it was free on the street round the corner.

This property is a little outside the city but benefits from plenty of parking. About 30 min walk to town. Good gym and nice pool

Breakfast was a disaster cancelled our second mornings breakfast as the first mornings offerings were cold and items were not replenished.

It was well located and had comfortable and clean rooms. We didn’t eat there but the menu looked great .The staff were friendly. My daughter and I were travelling to move my Granddaughter ready for university and we were pleasantly surprised by the twin rooms which were quite roomy. Nice comfy beds too and work g air con which was a real bonus!

A couple of small nit picky things. It was a rainfall shower- lovely! But it meant you couldn’t have a shower without washing your hair which we didn’t want to do. Some shower caps would have been helpful. A couple of lower calorie meals on the menu would have been appreciated as both my daughter and I are trying to lose weight! Despite the lovely menu we went out for dinner to find something a bit less fattening! The parking is expensive at £12 and I didn’t see this until I booked . This wouldn’t stop us returning though as we did enjoy our stay and look forward to sampling breakfast and dinner when we can eat more freely.
