The decor was fabulous. I loved all the seating nooks. It’s very close to Westquay shopping center.

Checking in at the bar. We had to wait for the bartender to finish drinks before assisting us with check in then patrons had to wait for drinks.

The location was excellent!. Easy access to restaurants, shopping and site seeing. The room was a decent size and clean. The facility was modern. Excellent included breakfast.

Only issue is parking. If you have a rental car, there are limited parking spaces. When full you need to use the car park nextdoor which is pricy.

It was a very unique hotel, and very central, it had a car park for guests, which we paid for about £13 for the night.

The staff ignored us at the bar when we were waiting to be served our drinks. They also took away my husband's drink when he had gone to the end of the bar to collect our food. When asked where his drink had gone, they maintained that it was empty . We pushed the 2 single beds closer together and discovered a glass on the floor.

The centeral location is fantastic, close to shops and entertainment spaces. Staff are friendly and exceptional. Using the hotel as your place to stay before a cruise was extremely helpful as they had a departure board with all the berths listed in the reception area and you can easily book a taxi for a certain pick up time (they ask you do this the night before). The bar area is busy but there is lots of seating areas on the reception floor and up to the 1st floor too. 1st floor also has areas for laptop charging and desk space too if you require some workspace. Check in and check out was a breeze. Highly recommend staying at the Moxy in southhampton.

We didn't have anything to fault our stay and any questions we had were resolved by asking down at reception.

Good wifi, great breakfast, very clean rooms. Nice decor Staff very helpful when we arrived and stored our bags until check in. Bathrooms are modern but small, hot water is great. Beds comfortable, good air conditioning.

No safe for valuables, no desk - most available space had tea coffee making only. I chair for 2 people Bar fridge was very small. Internet outlets limited Move reception check-in from the bar area - a little confusing.

Close to cruise port and shopping centre. Clean. Ironing room on my floor. Staff were very helpful and booked me a taxi for the next day.

Only one elevator working which led to long delays trying to leave for a cruise. I ended up carrying the cases down 5 flights of stairs as every elevator was constantly full. Welcome ‘free’ cocktail was dreadful.

The Moxy is the perfect location and venue for cruise passengers, it has everything you need, and nothing you don't. The staff were very friendly, the food was decent and it was very easy to walk to shops and other facilities.

Reception is at the bar, which I can understand from a limited space perspective, but it did confuse things when trying to check in and check out. There was another area on the ground floor that a reception could be set up. But overall, this didn't detract from our experience.

The staff is friendly and welcoming, and provide really warm, informal hospitality. The room is comfortable in a way one expects from this chain. The location in the center of Southampton is excellent and very convenient, especially handy if traveling on by coach.

You can't go in easy.It is something wrong with a door,you have to push it really hard to get in.It was no wi-fi, only next morning outside in the corridor.On the photo you have a towel,there was no towel.There was a dirty kettle,but no cup no glasses to drink a coffee from.

The room is extremely small. There is no Closet space and no place to put both of our luggages. It is extremely expensive for what it is. Breakfast was pretty decent. It is close to a mall that you can purchase last minute supply before cruise.

Convenient for shopping center with food, shops, and movie theater. Desk staff was very helpful.

Accessible room had an okay bathroom, but there was no space in the room for a wheelchair, even a walker. No place to put suitcases except a cot but the cot was in the way of getting around. AC wasn't able to keep up with the heatwave...which is understandable. But our room had a leaking air duct which made the floor wet and it was moldy around the duct which had peeling paint which flaked onto the floor. Breakfast buffet was just okay but once I got my food, there was no room to negotiate with a walker. I expected more from a Marriott!

Just like to say how fantastic the staff were! On the day that I stayed, unfortunately the air conditioning had broken down, and I think there were problems with hot water. Under the circumstances, I think your staff coped remarkably well and tried to put a brave face on everything. Well done. Top marks! Many thanks, Carl Timothy!

Room was great. Air con was a great relief. Bed was comfortable. Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cooked breakfast was not great. I didnt like the sausages and i would have liked a fried or poached egg.

Location between cruise terminal and train station. Staff very helpful and friendly. Welcome cocktail. Wonderful breakfast offering and they accommodated my dietary restrictions.

Shared ironing facilities in a very hot room. I had to wait a long period of time for others to finish using the iron. Small rooms. And inability to adjust cooling, however you can open a window. We were staying during a heat wave and rooms heated to 25 degrees. Too hot for summer.

At our arrival air conditioning was not functioning We didn’t receive and didn’t feel any effort from the staff to improve the situation

The location was excellent, near to a mall and close to cruise port.

The bar food selection was very limited and nothing special.

It was clean, within walking distance from restaurants and the cruise embarkation area. Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable beds.

Very small rooms, no storage space. Poor breakfast. The 30£ deposit we were drawn upon arrival and which was not mentioned by booking.com in the reservation has not been given back to us until now!

I arrived at the Moxy Hotel in Southampton on June 27, 2026. I arrived around 10:00 AM but couldn't check in until 3:00 PM, so I dropped off my luggage first. The hotel lobby doubles as a bar and restaurant, and the check-in counter was actually the same counter used for the bar and dining area. The narrow space just inside the revolving entrance was incredibly crowded with both restaurant diners and arriving hotel guests. To make matters worse, the air conditioning was very weak, so the temperature felt just as hot as it was outside. There was a lounge area tucked behind a small passageway on the other side, but no one was using it—likely because it was too hot. The air conditioning issue really needs to be addressed. It is certainly convenient having a large shopping area nearby. However, the hotel—starting right from the entrance—was generally far too hot. I finally checked in after 3:00 PM and went to my room. The room was small but well-organized and pleasant. However, I discovered there was no mini-fridge. Wanting to drink the water and beverages I had with me, I went back to the lobby bar (where I had checked in) and asked for some ice in a plastic cup I had brought along... but I was refused. They turned me down very firmly without offering any explanation! It was quite embarrassing. I was holding my room key, so they surely knew I was a guest. Should I have paid for the ice? I can understand the lack of small refrigerators in the individual rooms. However, given that the check-in area doubles as a cocktail bar and restaurant, it is astonishing that they have a policy forbidding them from giving a hotel guest a few pieces of ice in a cup. As a long-time Booking.com customer, I wish to lodge a formal complaint regarding this matter. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels, but this is the first time the staff has made me feel truly upset. It goes to show how a small action can make a guest never want to return to a hotel.

It was easy to walk from the Central Bus Station and located a short taxi ride from the cruise ship terminal.

The air conditioning was poor and it was 34c outside.

1) Excellent breakfast. 2) Common areas were very nice (but too hot to enjoy). 3) Very convenient location. 4) Friendly staff.

1) A/C in our room did not work at all. In record Southampton summer heat our room hovered between 28 deg C (82.4 F) and 29.5 deg C (85.1F). Talked to the check-in desk 4 times about it. They said maintenance would look at it, but it was never fixed and we were never informed if it ever would be. Try sleeping in a stuffy room at that temperature!However, the hallway was air-conditioned. Sould have slept out there in a chair. 2) There are no dressers or cupboards in the room to store your clothes. Brings a new meaning to living out of your luggage. 3) The glass bedside shelves were never cleaned over a 4 day stay and drink glasses from the bar were never removed.

Entrance hall was not to a Marriott standard. Breakfast for vegetarians was poor with every day just scrambled eggs, beans and hash brown where as meat eaters had 3 other choices. Room was tiny with no chairs to sit on and no fridge and no bottle water.
